hey! i've been writing for.. wow, 13 years? and been in fandom about as long. and over that course of time ive accumulated ao many WIPs.

there are so many of them, just lying around in my drafts and not a whole lot of motivation to do anything about it.

so let's play an ask game!

The heroes all sat in the monitor room, listening intently to the sound of a young boy talking in the other end of Cap's comms. They all heard him when he said he turned into a younger version of himself but... Well, exactly how *young* was this kid? Batman's eyes narrowest as they listened.

“Billy– Please tell me you do understand how stupid this is. You’re going to just let the league listen into your life for a couple hours!” The voice of the other boy spoke, ‘Billy’ was supposedly the Captain, everyone except Batman felt bad for listening in when it became clear this conversation was, itself, going to reveal a lot of his personal information.   “Spooky– look this is a terrible way to treat teammates. You’re practically spying on him!”  “Not practically. This IS spying.” Kal corrected sadly, Barry nodded in agreement.   “He left his comms on. If anything, it'll just teach him to be more cautious.” The excuse felt weak, even to batman, but they continued spying anyway.

Sam’s heartrate is probably returning to its normal resting rate. 

Bucky’s, on the other hand, is definitely increasing.

Sam is standing in the kitchen, wearing what he calls runner’s leggings, what Bucky calls an imminent danger to motorists, and the royal blue hoodie that threatens to do Bucky in. He’s drinking from a metal water bottle and Bucky is losing his mind because he’s jealous of a damn bottle.

Sam turns to him and grins, and Bucky’s heartrate increases at the way his eyes light up, as if Bucky is the best thing he can think of coming home to. “Morning Sleepyhead.”

“Morning,” Bucky murmurs, and crosses the few feet between them. He takes the hem of the hoodie of excellence in his fingers, pauses, giving Sam time to put the brakes on, and when Sam just gives him a playful look, he begins to inch it up. “You look like you need to cool off.”

“Is that what you’re doing?” Sam smirks, but he lifts his arms to allow Bucky to pull it over his head and off.

Bucky leans in, kisses the pulse point in Sam’s neck. “Gotta check your heartrate; make sure it’s returning to normal.”

“I don’t think it’s gonna do that with you this close,” Sam says as he tilts his head to give Bucky easier access.

Bucky pulls away, slots his hands on the backs of Sam’s thighs. “Up,” he says, and lifts Sam in one easy movement. He relishes the way Sam gasps and wraps his legs around Bucky’s waist, leans his ear against Sam’s chest, and listens to his heart.

It’s strong, and steady, and reminds Bucky, more than the hoodie of excellence, more than the danger leggings, more than anything else at all, that he is damned lucky to be alive.

transfem scott getting lots of support from ramona and kim in the early 2000's when shit's very taboo but they all 3 have a fire forged bond and lord if they aren't going to make sure they're all as happy as they can be because they've come this far and I dunno it just makes me happy all three of them

Like I've said before. General Trans Scott enthusiast here- I love the idea of their little support network *violent coughing* I (we?) mean polycule *violent coughing* so fucking much.

Ramona I think has a bit of a more gentle hand with reassuring Scott with gender issues, but sometimes she just can't help herself from some pointed banter or teasing- how could you with someone so dense? (Said w affection)

And then Kim I think is more blunt. But like, in a good way mostly, you know? The kinda blunt that makes you snap to attention and go "Oh. Yeah that was silly of me." And if Ramona's started some sort of banter? Kim is SO piling on. Maybe sometimes she's a bit TOO blunt with it- but it's only because she's so firm in her support. She wants Scott to Get It Together- and be happier for it. So if some ribbing now and again is in order, then goddamnit she will do so! Anything to crack that shell.

And ohhh can you imagine how they would react to some transphobic bullshit?? Unholy terror would be driven into the offender before they walk off with an absurd amount of coins between them. I can feel it in my bones. Scott doesn't even have to lift a finger (if the transphobe is even noticed/processed at all, bc I honestly can see Scott just. Not realizing someone's being transphobic.) Kim giving someone a lashing with her tongue as distraction and then Ramona coming in with the hammer- BAM! Free Money! Paying literally with your life for your transphobia. A Better And Just World.

And of course (transfem Scott more specifically, here,) the way Scott would start to flourish under their support... cagey and maybe a little (perhaps a lot-) resistant to start- but Kim's blunt affirmations and no nonsense attitude for bullshit (which is what Scott insisting on "being cis" would be, c'mon now,) and Ramona's also low bullshit tolerance but less Stabby (bc I won't lie, that's probably how Kim's comments would feel,) assurances? Ough... My Heart... Be Still-

I'm so excited about pHORSEuasion, many thanks to you and @from-the-coffee-shop-in-edoras for asking! It is indeed a retelling of Jane Austen's Persuasion, set in Rohan around the War of the Ring. Obviously, Éomer is our dashing Captain Wentworth, and Anne is impersonated by Rowena (OC).

Rowena is the daughter of Wylfric, who has been serving as Third Marshal in Aldburg since Éomund's death. In 3014, he and his family fall out of favor at court after Gríma sows discord between him and Théoden. In the conflict, Wylfric persuades his daughter to break off her engagement with Éomer.

In 3019, Éowyn summons Rowena at Edoras to help care for an ailing king. Although she dreads meeting with Éomer again, Rowena chooses to agree to her lady's wishes, following what she holds as her duty to work and heal for the sake of the Mark.

This fic is a puzzle to write! I strive to be true at once to the spirit of Regency novels, the culture, atmosphere and lore of Middle-Earth, the detailed TIMELINE of the War of the Ring, the complex arcs of Éomer and Éowyn, but also and above all do justice to the characters and dynamic of Anne and Wentworth (insert massive side eye to the 2022 Netflix adaptation here - don't get me started on that one).

It's quite a headache (a fun one!) to make the side characters fit around all that, in a way that will hopefully be credible and feel seamless. I am putting together a cast of many female OCs, including Rowena's sisters, other healers and ladies of the court, giving some page-time to barely fleshed-out male canon characters such as Erkenbrand, Théodred, Elfhelm, Céorl, Éothain, Háma and Gárulf, and having cameos from better known characters like Faramir, Gimli, Aragorn, Meriadoc, Elrond and a few others. Oh, and horses. Lots of horses.

My overall goal is to write a story that will hold on its own as a roughly canon-compliant LotR fic even for someone who would never have heard of Persuasion, but will also appeal to Austen fans who want to read a retelling of one of the most deliciously painful and satisfying mutual pining novels ever written.

Wow, that's ambitious, I have lots of work to do still. Back to writing!

“Oh, go ahead. I’m only chatting with Liam.” The man explains, waiting for Theo to leave and let him continue talking about his upcoming project.

The guy has been rambling for over ten minutes and has been keeping Liam from sneaking away.

“I’ll wait.” Theo coldly replies, standing directly behind him. He’s already sent Liam multiple text messages and called him countless times, but sure. Theo will wait.

Theo’s glowering, standing directly behind this poor guy and Liam wants to explain this is a normal thing. He didn’t answer a phone call and now he’s been chosen to be subjected to the werewolf’s jealous rage. All because he wanted a coffee and saw Liam nearby.

He glares, angry by this show of dominance and Liam would leave, but he doesn’t trust leaving a fellow classmate with Theo. Not when he’s already ticked off by being ignored all day.

More often than not, Fox would find Prudii at his side not long after he woke up from a blackout. The tooka seemed to always know where he was, would find him shortly after he surfaced, and then walked with him back to the Warren. "You're a cabur'ika, huh?" Fox smiled tiredly at the small tooka on his chest. He was exhausted, laying on his bunk with full lucidity back. Prudii nuzzled his neck and purred. He stroked a hand — still trembling slightly — through Prud’ika’s fur. Prudii snuggled further into his chest and leaned forward slightly to give Fox’s jaw a small lick. "Aw," Fox cooed. "I love you too, Prud'ika." Prudii’s answering meow sounded like an agreement, so Fox took it as one. He yawned and Prudii gently pawed at his shoulder. He’d learned that that was the ginger tooka’s way of telling him to get to sleep. "Lek, I'm goin' t'sleep," he yawned again and snuggled the warm furred body. "Such a good Prud'ika, a good cabur'ika, keeping my nightmares away," Fox praised as he closed his eyes.

This is another fic I'm co-writing with the lovely @darknight-brightstar! Obi-Wan, while investigating some inconsistencies in the GAR's budget and spending, stumbles across the intel that Palpatine is a Sith. Before he can get that intel out to anyone, though, he's promptly turned into a tooka and has to flee for his life. One thing leads to another, and Obi-Wan ends up staying with the Corries, who name him Prudii - Shadow - because of how he sticks to Fox's side like a shadow. Don't worry, he gets turned back into his normal self after Palpatine dies, and he and Fox live happily ever after <3

They hated this. The entire league hated this. They were stuck with no contact with Marvel with no explanation, and only two days left before they were able to open that god damned letter. It was driving them all insane and there had been more than a few attempts to just open it already because maybe that way they could do something before the worst case happened, but they kept being stopped by someone else who clearly wanted to do the same but couldn't for fear of disobeying what could be Cap's final wishes.  When the day came, everyone who'd been originally asked was there without prompting. Even Flash wasn't late for once, having been pacing around the halls at record speed.   They froze at the contents of the open letter, at the face of the kid staring up at them from a dirty, reused plastic folder. Batman snatched the information before anyone else could think about it while Zatanna took the neatly folded paper addressed to her.

Fairy Tale Kiss doesn’t exactly work as a WIP anymore, does it? But the sequel to it does (since it’s in editing mode and will shortly go to beta). All of these are dialogue, and two of them are said by Tony Stark, which is pure coincidence. One’s clearly Bucky, and the fourth I’ll leave a mystery. 😊

I'll go with TikTok dancer, because it's one of only two I haven't published yet, and the other is my COBB so I can't give too much away on it.

Simon Snow + the Pacific Ocean = Dancing Sea Lion

3. 🌍What tags or warnings will your / one of your WIP(s) need if you intend to share it?

It is very very explicit. Simon is a slut in this one.

4. 🧭An alternative title to your/ one of your WIP(s)?

Honestly? This is the only name I've come up with for it. I may change it, but I tend to be fairly resolute when it comes to my titles.

5. ⚠️Which WIP your most likely to finish or update next?

Probably Cupid's Shield. I'll be updating Cupid's Shield and Saving Simon Snow in the next few days. The next chapter of Stars, Flowers, and Children ought to go up by Wednesday.

6. 💾What is your document of your WIP/ a WIP called? (not the stories actual title but what you’ve saved it as)

I always save my docs under their title once I have the title. Before that, I call it by a descriptive phrase, like "cobb 2024" or "Tiktok AU"

Simon Snow is standing above me, looking at me with a perplexed expression. I quickly get my own expression under control. “Hello?” I say coolly.

“Baz,” he says, and my eyes widen. I wouldn’t have thought he’d remember my name, given the many similar encounters he must have had over the years. 

“Snow,” I say, neither encouraging nor discouraging this discourse.

For some strange reason though, his eyes light up at the sound of his name and he beams at me. “What?” I say sharply, confused.

He shakes his head and his curls fly about with the motion. “Nothing. It’s just, I like it when you call me that.”

That’s distinctly odd. Don’t people generally prefer to be called by their first names?

8. ♻️A scrapped idea for your current WIP.

I originally had this ending two different ways, and one of them was mpreg. I shifted away from that idea before I started typing though.

9. 🤔What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?

My friend denticles (sorry, forgot your Tumblr user) gifted me an idea that involves Baz being a fanfic writer during the Watford years. I'm excited to start it, but I am determined to finish The Heart in The Well first.

lol, you know me. Too many. 8 at the moment.

Not currently. I'm more fighting with deciding how detailed to make upcoming scenes.

Any spoiler-free explanations/snippets of why V is a slight Yandere🥺?

OFCOURSE!

1. V. was first introduced to MC by the rumours surrounding them, they though MC was just another criminal who pissed off some higher officials and got thrown in, imagine their pleasant surprise when they found that MC was nothing like that

2. Then their interest was piqued even more when they realised that MC had amnesia and their entire background was wiped clean, so they decided to stick around MC to learn more about them (and perhaps collect some dirt in the process as well)

3. In the beginning they saw a reflection of their siblings in MC as they taught them the ways of Tartarus

4. Then MC, who they previously thought was naive, got involved with the Warden and actually saved their overall curious ass twice

5. So now that interest now turned into attraction, V. would never admit it but they do like acting like a damsel in distress every once in a while to have a prince/princess in shining armour save them, guess who showed up hm

6. Long story short, V. ended up head over heels for MC

7. Too bad, their love would never reach MC because

1. Give a 5-word summary of this chapter/fic.

Buckley-Diaz family + jealous!Tommy

8. What is the last scene you’ve written?

When Buck returns, he's beaming—big, happy smile painted over his cheeks in the dim glow of the television—and Tommy can see the moment Eddie realizes Buck's approaching. Sees the way Eddie's mouth quirks up in anticipation of Buck's return.

And then Buck is wrapping himself around Eddie from behind, one arm settling around his chest while his other hand cradles the side of Eddie's head so he can press a kiss to Eddie's temple before he drops it to fall over Eddie's other shoulder. For Eddie's part, he reaches up and gives Buck's shoulder a firm pat while he presses his cheek into Buck's stubble. And Tommy thinks it's supposed to be a sweet, friendly gesture—thinks the kiss was supposed to be smacking and silly, thinks the shoulder pat was supposed to be a firm smack to get Buck to release his hold. But none of that is what it looks like as Buck holds on a little too long and Eddie basks in the attention.

Tommy hates that he has to bite back his anger.

“Thank you,” Buck murmurs after a moment, still draped over Eddie, voice quiet and, Tommy’s sure, meant only for Eddie's ears.

Eddie grins fondly and pats at Buck's cheek gently. “Any time. Just glad he's still willing to humor you every now and then.”

“We should go.” Tommy breaks their fond affection, blunt and a little short, but tired of watching Evan cuddle with another man without a second thought. It cuts deeper than he thinks it should, but he's done with the pleasantries and ready to leave this space where he feels so very out of place, even while Buck appears more at home than Tommy has ever seen him.

Buck blinks at him, a surprised press of his eyelids as he shifts his gaze to Tommy. Tommy’s not sure if it's his tone that's surprised him or if Buck had just forgotten his presence all together.

“Uh—yeah,” Buck stumbles a bit, dragging himself from Eddie with the struggle of two magnets loath to separate. Eddie's hand tracks down Buck's arm, skimming gently across the skin until Buck has stepped too far away for him to reach without giving himself away. “Yeah. Okay. We, uh. we should probably go.”

11. What scene are you most hyped for this chapter/fic?

Tommy cuts through the bullshit. Refuses to let the conversation keep running in circles. “Do you have feelings for him?”

“He's not an option.”

“That's not what I asked you!” Tommy can't help the way his tone jumps, some combination of desperation and anger warring in the tenor of his voice, because he knows—he knows—but he wants so much to be wrong. Wants Buck to find the right words and fix it all so maybe they don't have to end. But Tommy knows better, and when he continues, it's with a deep and painful resignation. “Can you look me in the eye right now and tell me that if Eddie wanted you, you would choose me?”

For a moment, Buck looks like a fish out of water, eyes wide and unblinking and mouth agape as his jaw works to try to form words that won't come. Tommy wants to laugh, but can't with all the hurt choking him of any sound as he waits for Buck to find his words.

They hurt more than Tommy expects.

“He's not an option. He's never been an option,” Buck whispers finally. Quiet and stunned and confused. Still trying to process the reality of Tommy’s words.

Tommy huffs something like a laugh, but it's humorless, maybe even a little derisive. “That's what I thought.”

“Tommy—”

“You've never so much as said you love me!” He spits the words, anger and hurt clawing at his chest. He'd thought he could do this. Thought, maybe, they really were on their way to something real. But he's starting to see just how much he was fooling himself.

Buck looks stunned at the words, face falling with hurt. “You know I said it too soon the last time. You know—”

“And you know that it will always be too soon unless it's him.”

How many books are you planning and a little bit of a lore for each book (no spoilers of course)?

There will be four books to the series then somewhere between 4-8 shorts that I don't promise will be long or short lol

Book one the pirate king of deaths redemption is the intro to the world so not a lot gets resolved. It's Oisìn and Daimhín's book

Book two the pirate's cursed prince is prince Jade and Galen's book where you get to meet the rest of the villans and side villans this one will demonstrate more of what goes on in the political/kingdom aspects of the world and touch on the gods more along with the magic system. The mers and fae will probably come up frequently as well. Issues start to get solved but new ones arise

Book three the shaman's assassin will be Braith and Morana's ...we get to see a lot more of Mal this book that will get into the magic/religious/god and cultural aspects of the storyline along with how the assassin's came to be and their culture and they resolve more

Book four the pirate's cursed god's bastard fae (tentative name) will be Kieran's and Adoh's book and it depends on how much is resolved in three what happens here but this one will get deep into the lore of the fae and the gods.

Mini

Kenny and Jack will get a story o have a few ways I could do it so I'm not sure which I'm going with yet.

Nimue and Davey this will tell the story of how Kieran got cursed and might be posted before book four.

Amon and Oscar if they get a story will take place between book three and four...

Death and Nyx might get a origin story
