Sam Altman, OpenAI: The superintelligence era has begun
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/sam-altman-openai-the-superintelligence-era-has-begun/
Sam Altman, OpenAI: The superintelligence era has begun
OpenAI chief Sam Altman has declared that humanity has crossed into the era of artificial superintelligence—and there’s no turning back.
“We are past the event horizon; the takeoff has started,” Altman states. “Humanity is close to building digital superintelligence, and at least so far it’s much less weird than it seems like it should be.”
The lack of visible signs – robots aren’t yet wandering our high streets, disease remains unconquered – masks what Altman characterises as a profound transformation already underway. Behind closed doors at tech firms like his own, systems are emerging that can outmatch general human intellect.
“In some big sense, ChatGPT is already more powerful than any human who has ever lived,” Altman claims, noting that “hundreds of millions of people rely on it every day and for increasingly important tasks.”
This casual observation hints at a troubling reality: such systems already wield enormous influence, with even minor flaws potentially causing widespread harm when multiplied across their vast user base.
The road to superintelligence
Altman outlines a timeline towards superintelligence that might leave many readers checking their calendars.
By next year, he expects “the arrival of agents that can do real cognitive work,” fundamentally transforming software development. The following year could bring “systems that can figure out novel insights”—meaning AI that generates original discoveries rather than merely processing existing knowledge. By 2027, we might see “robots that can do tasks in the real world.”
Each prediction seems to leap beyond the previous one in capability, drawing a line that points unmistakably toward superintelligence—systems whose intellectual capacity vastly outstrips human potential across most domains.
“We do not know how far beyond human-level intelligence we can go, but we are about to find out,” Altman states.
This progression has sparked fierce debate among experts, with some arguing these capabilities remain decades away. Yet Altman’s timeline suggests OpenAI has internal evidence for this accelerated path that isn’t yet public knowledge.
A feedback loop that changes everything
What makes current AI development uniquely concerning is what Altman calls a “larval version of recursive self-improvement”—the ability of today’s AI to help researchers build tomorrow’s more capable systems.
“Advanced AI is interesting for many reasons, but perhaps nothing is quite as significant as the fact that we can use it to do faster AI research,” he explains. “If we can do a decade’s worth of research in a year, or a month, then the rate of progress will obviously be quite different.”
This acceleration compounds as multiple feedback loops intersect. Economic value drives infrastructure development, which enables more powerful systems, which generate more economic value. Meanwhile, the creation of physical robots capable of manufacturing more robots could create another explosive cycle of growth.
“The rate of new wonders being achieved will be immense,” Altman predicts. “It’s hard to even imagine today what we will have discovered by 2035; maybe we will go from solving high-energy physics one year to beginning space colonisation the next year.”
Such statements would sound like hyperbole from almost anyone else. Coming from the man overseeing some of the most advanced AI systems on the planet, they demand at least some consideration.
Living alongside superintelligence
Despite the potential impact, Altman believes many aspects of human life will retain their familiar contours. People will still form meaningful relationships, create art, and enjoy simple pleasures.
But beneath these constants, society faces profound disruption. “Whole classes of jobs” will disappear—potentially at a pace that outstrips our ability to create new roles or retrain workers. The silver lining, according to Altman, is that “the world will be getting so much richer so quickly that we’ll be able to seriously entertain new policy ideas we never could before.”
For those struggling to imagine this future, Altman offers a thought experiment: “A subsistence farmer from a thousand years ago would look at what many of us do and say we have fake jobs, and think that we are just playing games to entertain ourselves since we have plenty of food and unimaginable luxuries.”
Our descendants may view our most prestigious professions with similar bemusement.
The alignment problem
Amid these predictions, Altman identifies a challenge that keeps AI safety researchers awake at night: ensuring superintelligent systems remain aligned with human values and intentions.
Altman states the need to solve “the alignment problem, meaning that we can robustly guarantee that we get AI systems to learn and act towards what we collectively really want over the long-term”. He contrasts this with social media algorithms that maximise engagement by exploiting psychological vulnerabilities.
This isn’t merely a technical issue but an existential one. If superintelligence emerges without robust alignment, the consequences could be devastating. Yet defining “what we collectively really want” will be almost impossible in a diverse global society with competing values and interests.
“The sooner the world can start a conversation about what these broad bounds are and how we define collective alignment, the better,” Altman urges.
OpenAI is building a global brain
Altman has repeatedly characterised what OpenAI is building as “a brain for the world.”
This isn’t meant metaphorically. OpenAI and its competitors are creating cognitive systems intended to integrate into every aspect of human civilisation—systems that, by Altman’s own admission, will exceed human capabilities across domains.
“Intelligence too cheap to meter is well within grasp,” Altman states, suggesting that superintelligent capabilities will eventually become as ubiquitous and affordable as electricity.
For those dismissing such claims as science fiction, Altman offers a reminder that merely a few years ago, today’s AI capabilities seemed equally implausible: “If we told you back in 2020 we were going to be where we are today, it probably sounded more crazy than our current predictions about 2030.”
As the AI industry continues its march toward superintelligence, Altman’s closing wish – “May we scale smoothly, exponentially, and uneventfully through superintelligence” – sounds less like a prediction and more like a prayer.
While timelines may (and will) be disputed, the OpenAI chief makes clear the race toward superintelligence isn’t coming—it’s already here. Humanity must grapple with what that means.

Understanding Cybersecurity Basics: Stay Safe Online
Tumblr media
Learning cybersecurity basics is essential in today’s digital world...
Why Cybersecurity Is Necessary
Simply put, our world has gone digital. Nowadays, banking finds itself amalgamated with the odd chatting session. But have you thought about how secure your information is? Cybersecurity has ceased to be merely a “tech thing” and has become the need of the hour for all.
What is Cybersecurity Anyway?
The safeguarding of devices, data, and networks against threats that are cyber in character, such as invasions, viruses, and identity theft, constitutes the substance of cybersecurity. Just consider it locking the doors to your online life.
Common Online Threats You Should Be Aware Of
1. Phishing
Ever seen an email that looked suspicious and real, but was neither? Phishing deceives you into revealing your passwords or clicking on malicious links.
2. Malware
Malware is short for malicious software that can infect your device and, therefore, steal or corrupt the data on it. It often hides itself in malicious downloads and fake apps.
3. Public Wi-Fi Hazards
Free Wi-Fi at the café seems alluring-but most of the time, it is unsecured. If you are not well-protected, a hacker can comfortably snoop onto your activity.
Easy Tips to Stay Safe Online
1. Never Underestimate a Strong Password
Choose long, unique passwords composed of letters, numbers, and special characters. Never use passwords like "123456" or "password"—you are above that.
2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication
This involves a second layer of protection with maybe your phone number used to receive a code. So even if someone has your password, they cannot access your account without this code.
3. Update Your Software Regularly
Often, these updates patch vulnerabilities. So best practice is to set your applications and devices to auto-update to guarantee ongoing protection.
4. Click Only when Sure
Do not fall prey to silly memes and click on the link or attachment. Trust your instincts; they are oftentimes smarter than you think.
5. Use Antivirus and VPN
Antivirus protects your device and VPN helps hide your online activity, especially on public Wi-Fi.
You need not be a technology wizard to keep yourself agile online. By understanding cybersecurity's fundamentals and observing the wise practices, you can surf, shop, or stream with peace of mind. Just keep on your toes and in the loop, and, most importantly, stay safe.

Cyber Security Awareness: Educating Employees to Prevent Attacks
In today's increasingly digital world, cyber security has become a crucial aspect of both personal and professional life. From protecting sensitive information to ensuring the safety of online transactions, cyber security is the backbone of a secure digital environment. In this blog, we'll delve into what cyber security entails, why it's vital, and how you can protect yourself from ever-evolving cyber threats.
Tumblr media
What is Cyber Security?
Cyber security refers to the practice of protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks. These attacks are usually aimed at accessing, changing, or destroying sensitive information; extorting money from users; or interrupting normal business processes. Implementing effective cyber security measures is particularly challenging today because there are more devices than people, and attackers are becoming more innovative.
Why is Cyber Security Important?
The importance of cyber security cannot be overstated. With the growing number of cyber-attacks targeting both individuals and organizations, it is imperative to have robust security measures in place. Here's why cyber security is crucial:
Protecting Sensitive Data: In an era where data is a valuable asset, protecting it from unauthorized access is vital. Cyber security helps safeguard personal information, financial data, and intellectual property.
Ensuring Business Continuity: Cyber attacks can disrupt business operations, leading to financial losses and damaged reputations. Effective cyber security measures help ensure that businesses can continue to operate smoothly, even in the face of threats.
Maintaining Customer Trust: For businesses, customer trust is paramount. By implementing strong security protocols, organizations can assure their customers that their data is secure.
Compliance with Regulations: Many industries are subject to regulations that require the protection of sensitive data. Cyber security helps organizations comply with these legal requirements.
Common Types of Cyber Threats
To effectively combat cyber threats, it's important to understand the different types of attacks that can occur. Some common cyber threats include:
Malware: This refers to malicious software, such as viruses, worms, spyware, and ransomware, that can damage or disrupt systems.
Phishing: Phishing attacks involve tricking individuals into providing sensitive information, such as passwords and credit card numbers, by posing as a trustworthy entity.
Man-in-the-Middle Attacks: These occur when an attacker intercepts communication between two parties to steal data.
Denial-of-Service (DoS) Attacks: DoS attacks flood a network with traffic, overwhelming it and causing it to shut down, rendering services unavailable.
SQL Injection: This involves inserting malicious code into a database query to gain unauthorized access to data.
Key Principles of Cyber Security
Cyber security is built on several core principles that guide the creation and implementation of security measures. These principles include:
Confidentiality: Ensuring that information is accessible only to those authorized to access it. This is often achieved through encryption and access control mechanisms.
Integrity: Protecting information from being altered or tampered with. Integrity ensures that data remains accurate and trustworthy.
Availability: Ensuring that information and systems are available when needed. This includes protecting against attacks that aim to disrupt access to information or services.
Authentication: Verifying the identity of users before granting access to systems or data.
Non-repudiation: Ensuring that a person or entity cannot deny the authenticity of their signature on a document or the sending of a message.
How to Protect Yourself Online
While organizations bear the brunt of cyber security responsibilities, individuals must also take steps to protect themselves online. Here are some practical tips:
Use Strong Passwords: Create complex passwords that are difficult to guess, and avoid using the same password across multiple accounts.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): 2FA adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of identification in addition to your password.
Be Wary of Phishing Scams: Be cautious of unsolicited emails or messages asking for personal information. Verify the sender's identity before clicking on links or downloading attachments.
Update Software Regularly: Keep your operating system, software, and applications up to date to protect against vulnerabilities.
Use Antivirus Software: Install reputable antivirus software to detect and remove malicious threats from your devices.
Secure Your Wi-Fi Network: Ensure that your home or office Wi-Fi network is password-protected and encrypted to prevent unauthorized access.
Backup Your Data: Regularly back up important data to an external drive or cloud storage to avoid data loss in case of an attack.
The Future of Cyber Security
As technology continues to evolve, so do the tactics of cybercriminals. The future of cyber security will likely see the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in detecting and mitigating threats. Additionally, with the expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT), securing connected devices will become increasingly important.
Organizations and individuals alike must remain vigilant and proactive in adopting the latest security measures to protect against emerging threats. Investing in cyber security not only helps prevent financial losses but also safeguards your reputation and trust in the digital space.
Conclusion: Secure Your Digital Presence Today!
Cyber security is a critical aspect of modern life that cannot be ignored. Whether you're an individual looking to protect your personal information or a business aiming to safeguard your operations, taking proactive steps toward cyber security is essential. By understanding the threats and implementing best practices, you can significantly reduce your risk of falling victim to cyber attacks.

part one - part two (youre here) - part three - part four - part five- six
warning for smut, 141 are panty sniffers! and more yanderery than the last! I have another part written but I just felt like was already dragged a lil so lmk if you want the next part! also not edited bc im lazy
Tumblr media
“The birds just not fuckin’ into ya johnny. She never took this long to respond to me.” Simon smirks, truthfully he didn’t really remember but he was fucked off with this entire thing, not only was Johnny after his bird but texting you became a group sport, even the double text.
Simon seethes, usually you would've crawled back to him by now, you'd get drunk and call him sobbing from whatever pub you were at and you'd owe him, rinse and repeat.
At least if you were into Johnny he'd know what you were doing but now your absence started to eat at him, he just wondered your were like a deer fresh out the womb, learning to walk, how would you survive when Simon wasn't there to pick up your the pieces when you inevitably fell apart again.
simon couldnt take them fawning over you anymore so he returned to his bedroom, he had a little secret that he had to keep from those closest to him, your underwear. A collection really.
to start with, they were just tucked in his bag for when he was deployed, he’d push a pair around his cock, satin felt nice but the cream pair with little berries on? they were too cute and so you. He’d pump his cock until they were stick with his cum.
then when he was home more often and you were fucked too dumb to bounce on his cock, neglecting him after hes giving you so many? he'll remember that for next time. and really left him no choice but to scout out your discarded panties, maybe a fresh pair if you packed them, and he'd finish himself off before tugging them up your legs, his cum from earlier still leaking out your pretty pussy. something about you walking home in shame, carrying him with you, a sense of ownership simon loved.
now these panties were all he had, and he wasn't gonna share them. maybe with Johnny, if he was good.
after a week it just wasnt doing it for him anymore, he needed to see his girl but all his texts weren't sending:( and he hadn't seen you at the gym or the pilates class you spent so much money on. almost like your little temper tantrum was serious this time.
Tumblr media
okay so it took simon a week or two to turn up begging, well demanding your forgiveness.
or he would've, if you answered the fucking door? after coming over and almost fighting your door guy a few times, he gets the hint, stealth is wealth and all that.
now here he is, staring at you through binoculars, on the rooftop opposite your building, like he's gathering intel or some shit. originally he was gonna keep this to himself, threes a crowd after all but it was chilly on the rooftop and simon is all about efficiency and your safety of course!
thing is, that pesky door man knows who simon is, and its doubtful a stick on moustache and boiler suit is gonna convince him that simon is also the buildings engineer!
through this process they've found out your building has a lot of security issues, nobody even thought about cyber security so when gaz sends out an email with a list of apartment numbers and a time, stating some maintenance was needed, no one bats an eye.
and of course you dont want any awkward conversations, like offering them tea or coffee 50 times while they try to focus but they'd think you rude if you dont and you can't ignore them, thats rude too. so you have to go out and stay out.
so you go shopping, you've been needing more underwear anyway!
soon enough John and gaz are in your apartment, putting up hidden cameras, slipping trackers into the linings of your most worn clothes, rifling through your belongings and testing out your perfume, trying to figure out which one you use daily from the memories of your scent lingering on simon and around the flat.
however gold is struck when they come across your laundry basket! feral is the best fitting word, Johnny will froth at the mouth once they tell him and of course share the bounty of their conquest.

Conversations with AI: Education
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/conversations-with-ai-education/
Conversations with AI: Education
The classroom hasn’t changed much in over a century. A teacher at the front, rows of students listening, and a curriculum defined by what’s testable – not necessarily what’s meaningful.
But AI, as arguably the most powerful tool humanity has created in the last few years, is about to break that model open. Not with smarter software or faster grading, but by forcing us to ask: “What is the purpose of education in a world where machines could teach?”
At AI News, rather than speculate about distant futures or lean on product announcements and edtech deals, we started a conversation – with an AI. We asked it what it sees when it looks at the classroom, the teacher, and the learner.
What follows is a distilled version of that exchange, given here not as a technical analysis, but as a provocation.
The system cracks
Education is under pressure worldwide: Teachers are overworked, students are disengaged, and curricula feel outdated in a changing world. Into this comes AI – not as a patch or plug-in, but as a potential accelerant.
Our opening prompt: “What roles might an AI play in education?“
The answer was wide-ranging:
Personalised learning pathways
Intelligent tutoring systems
Administrative efficiency
Language translation and accessibility tools
Behavioural and emotional recognition
Scalable, always-available content delivery
These are features of an education system, its nuts and bolts. But what about meaning and ethics?
Flawed by design?
One concern kept resurfacing: bias.
We asked the AI: “If you’re trained on the internet – and the internet is the output of biased, flawed human thought – doesn’t that mean your responses are equally flawed?”
The AI acknowledged the logic. Bias is inherited. Inaccuracies, distortions, and blind spots all travel from teacher to pupil. What an AI learns, it learns from us, and it can reproduce our worst habits at vast scale.
But we weren’t interested in letting human teachers off the hook either. So we asked: “Isn’t bias true of human educators too?”
The AI agreed: human teachers are also shaped by the limitations of their training, culture, and experience. Both systems – AI and human – are imperfect. But only humans can reflect and care.
That led us to a deeper question: if both AI and human can reproduce bias, why use AI at all?
Why use AI in education?
The AI outlined what it felt were its clear advantages, which seemed to be systemic, rather than revolutionary. The aspect of personalised learning intrigued us – after all, doing things fast and at scale is what software and computers are good at.
We asked: “How much data is needed to personalise learning effectively?“
The answer: it varies. But at scale, it could require gigabytes or even terabytes of student data – performance, preferences, feedback, and longitudinal tracking over years.
Which raises its own question: “What do we trade in terms of privacy for that precision?”
A personalised or fragmented future?
Putting aside the issue of whether we’re happy with student data being codified and ingested, if every student were to receive a tailored lesson plan, what happens to the shared experience of learning?
Education has always been more than information. It’s about dialogue, debate, discomfort, empathy, and encounters with other minds, not just mirrored algorithms. AI can tailor a curriculum, but it can’t recreate the unpredictable alchemy of a classroom.
We risk mistaking customisation for connection.
“I use ChatGPT to provide more context […] to plan, structure and compose my essays.” – James, 17, Ottawa, Canada.
The teacher reimagined
Where does this leave the teacher?
In the AI’s view: liberated. Freed from repetitive tasks and administrative overload, the teacher is able to spend more time guiding, mentoring, and cultivating important thinking.
But this requires a shift in mindset – from delivering knowledge to curating wisdom. In broad terms, from part-time administrator, part-time teacher, to in-classroom collaborator.
AI won’t replace teachers, but it might reveal which parts of the teaching job were never the most important.
“The main way I use ChatGPT is to either help with ideas for when I am planning an essay, or to reinforce understanding when revising.” – Emily, 16, Eastbourne College, UK.
What we teach next
So, what do we want students to learn?
In an AI-rich world, important thinking, ethical reasoning, and emotional intelligence rise in value. Ironically, the more intelligent our machines become, the more we’ll need to double down on what makes us human.
Perhaps the ultimate lesson isn’t in what AI can teach us – but in what it can’t, or what it shouldn’t even try.
Conclusion
The future of education won’t be built by AI alone. The is our opportunity to modernise classrooms, and to reimagine them. Not to fear the machine, but to ask the bigger question: “What is learning in a world where all knowledge is available?”
Whatever the answer is – that’s how we should be teaching next.

Phantom Academy
DP x DC Prompt
A mysterious island housing an academy had mysteriously popped up in the bay that separates Gotham and Metropolis. There was nothing that showed how it came to be, no strange energy spikes, no noises in the night, no light show in the night either, and when the the Watchtower showed the satellite view from above, it wasn't there one second, but there the next.
The next day from after it arrived, ads for the building, Phantom Academy, began to pop up across both cities and across the television on commercials for further away cities.
It didn't take long for people to start sending their kids to the Academy, as it's a mostly free admission, and if you aren't close enough to send your kid(s) there? The Academy provides transportation for the kid(s) that get to the Academy on time, with tech that's much more advanced than the Justice League and the Bats tech as well.
From what the League could acquire about the Academy's staff, they are people that haven't existed before the day the Academy arrived in between Gotham and Metropolis.
The Principal of the Academy, Daniel Nightingale, who runs both the Academy and two classes, Chemistry and Engineering. Jasmine Nightingale, the vice principal, and the councilor for students to consult in with problems they have of any kind. Tucker Foley, the teacher for Computer Science, and the one who supposedly runs the cyber security for the Academy. Samantha Manson, the Gardening teacher, and a Meta with plant powers who isn't afraid to hide her powers. Paulina Sanchez, the coach for the cheerleaders of the Academy who is aided by Star Anderson. Dash Baxter, Gym Teacher, and coach for the football team, the Specters. Wesley Weston, another gym teacher, and coach to the Academy's basketball team. Valerie Grey, the self-defense instructor for the Academy and the one in charge of the security for the Academy. The Justice League couldn't get any information on the rest of the staff for the Academy (because of the fact that the rest of the staff are Ghosts and are in the process of getting identification for them).
Ember is the music teacher, Lunch Lady is the Foods teacher, and, obviously, the Lunch Lady, Clockwork is the History and English teacher, Pandora helps Valerie for the self-defense classes, Undergrowth helps Sam in her gardening classes, Nocturne runs naptime for any little kids attending the academy, Frostbite is the on site doctor for the Academy, Technus helps Tucker for both Computer Science and the cyber security, Boxy manages the boxes in the storage areas for the Academy, Skulker helps Valerie with security, Walker is the detention teacher, Ghost Writer is the librarian, and Fright Knight is the hall monitor.
The Justice League needs to find out what the intentions of the Academy staff are because Batman is too paranoid to accept that they are clean and not planning anything nefarious. So they plan to send Young Justice, the Teen Titans, and other younger League members to investigate the Academy as students of the Academy.
