In the Mario Kart series, ghost recording data is saved as a series of inputs alongside the frames of the race these inputs were made on. By extracting the input data from the game and visualizing it, it is possible to see mistakes the developers made while recording gameplay for the staff ghosts.
In Mario Kart 7, the Shy Guy Bazaar staff ghost takes a particular jump without tricking off it, which is unusual for a staff ghost, who always try to take every speed boost they reasonably can. By viewing the input data, it is revealed that the developer did in fact press R when making that jump (note the top right button in the input display lighting up) but the input was too late and did not register as a trick. The developer then evidently decided that the ghost was good enough and did not re-record the race.

See, here's the thing about generative AI:
I will always, always prefer to read the beginner works of a young writer that could use some editing advice, over anything a predictive text generator can spit out no matter how high of a "quality" it spits out.
I will always be more interested in reading a fanfiction or original story written by a kid who doesn't know you're meant to separate different dialogues into their own paragraphs, over anything a generative ai creates.
I will happily read a story where dialogue isn't always capitalized and has some grammar mistakes that was written by a person over anything a computer compiles.
Why?
Because *why should I care about something someone didn't even care enough to write themselves?*
Humans have been storytellers since the dawn of humankind, and while it presents itself in different ways, almost everyone has stories they want to tell, and it takes effort and care and a desire to create to put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard or speech to text to actually start writing that story out, let alone share it for others to read!
If a kid writes a story where all the dialogue is crammed in the same paragraph and missing some punctuation, it's because they're still learning the ropes and are eager to share their imagination with the world even if its not perfect.
If someone gets generative AI to make an entire novel for them, copying and pasting chunks of text into a document as it generates them, then markets that "novel" as being written by a real human person and recruits a bunch of people to leave fake good reviews on the work praising the quality of the book to trick real humans into thinking they're getting a legitimate novel.... Tell me, why on earth would anyone actually want to read that "novel" outside of morbid curiosity?
There's a few people you'll see in the anti-ai tags complaining about "people being dangerously close to saying art is a unique characteristic of the divine human soul" and like...
... Super dramatic wording there to make people sound ridiculous, but yeah, actually, people enjoy art made by humans because humans who make art are sharing their passion with others.
People enjoy art made by animals because it is fascinating and fun to find patterns in the paint left by paw prints or the movements of an elephants trunk.
Before Generative AI became the officially sanctioned "Plagiarism Machine for Billionaires to Avoid Paying Artists while Literally Stealing all those artists works" people enjoyed random computer-generated art because, like animals, it is fascinating and fun to see something so different and alien create something that we can find meaning in.
But now, when Generative AI spits out a work that at first appears to be a veritable masterpiece of art depicting a winged Valkyrie plunging from the skies with a spear held aloft, you know that anything you find beautiful or agreeable in this visual media has been copied from an actual human artist who did not consent or doesn't even know that their art has been fed into the Plagiarism Machine.
Now, when Generative AI spits out a written work featuring fandom-made tropes and concepts like Alpha Beta Omega dyanamics, you know that you favorite fanfiction website(s) have probably all been scraped and that the unpaid labours of passion by millions of people, including minors, have been scraped by the Plagiarism Machine and can now be used to make money for anyone with the time and patience to sit and have the Plagarism Machine generate stories a chunk at a time and then go on to sell those stories to anyone unfortunate enough to fall for the scam,
all while you have no way to remove your works from the existing training data and no way to stop any future works you post be put in, either.
Generative AI wouldn't be a problem if it was exclusively trained on Public Domain works for each country and if it was freely available to anyone in that country (since different countries have different copyright laws)
But its not.
Because Generative AI is made by billionaires who are going around saying "if you posted it on the Internet at any point, it is fair game for us to take and profit off," and anyone looking to make a quick buck can start churning out stolen slop and marketing it online on trusted retailers, including generating extremely dangerous books like foraging guides or how to combine cleaning chemicals for a spotless home, etc.
Generative AI is nothing but the works of actual humans stolen by giant corporations looking for profit, even works that the original creators can't even make money off of themselves, like fanfiction or fanart.
And I will always, always prefer to read "fanfiction written by a 13 year old" over "stolen and mashed together works from Predictive Text with a scifi name slapped on it", because at least the fanfiction by a kid actually has *passion and drive* behind its creation.

Could we know some nsfw data about Clive?
(only if you aren't repulsed by sex, Clive wants to make you feel comfortable, he'd feel so so guilty if he even touched himself to you).
A = Aftercare: aftercare is crucial for him. He'll clean you up, all while whispering sweet praises about every inch of your body that the cloth grazes- he wants to make sure you're feeling adored and cherished.
B = Body part: he loves his height (he wants to intimidate people, guess why), but his favorite? his hands, he loves watching his fingers disappear inside you, thrusting in and out with the addicting slick sound they make/ loves seeing them wrapped around your length or seeing his palm pressed against your tip, teasing in circles.
Your body parts? all of you, but he's obsessed with your lips, especially when they're all swollen from his kisses.
C = Cum: when he's alone, he tries not to make too much of a mess. But with you?? not even a drop should go to waste.
Whether it's on your skin, your lips, or somewhere more..hidden, he loves watching how it drips out of you and the sight alone drives him insane. He'll always take his time, sliding his fingers back in to push every drop where it belongs. If you swallow, expect him to pull you into a heated kiss immediately after👁️
D = Dirty Secret: he craves you so much, he keeps the smallest pieces of you, even meaningless objects such as candy wrap. He's gotten you matching bracelets (also cause he cares about you and finds it cute ofc) so he can wear it while stroking himself, just to trick his mind into thinking it's you for a second, he'll warm his hand or cool it down to match your body temperature perfectly, poor baby cums so quick if it feels too realistic.
E = Experience: he isn't experienced, and he's never been into 🌽 so..
He's so eager to please you, he'll watch your expressions carefully, studying each reaction to figure out what you like. If you grab his hand and guide him- well! he's a quick learner, or visual learner, show him :3 jk
F = Favourite Position: any that lets him see your beautiful face- everything, from your reactions, breathing, the way you arch under his touch. Loves positions where he can hold you close, missionary, mating press, having you on his lap..in fact, please use his thigh to get o- jk.
If you ever want to try something different, like backshots as an example, the mirror becomes his favorite accessory. And if you dare to look away? he'll stop immediately.
"Eyes on the mirror, you need appreciate yourself darling."
G = Goofy: Clive is serious during intimacy, any intimacy actually, but if something funny happens, he'll chuckle softly to ease any awkwardness.
H = Hair: Clive grooms himself really well, though he keeps his happy trail. If you wanted him to wax it, he wouldn't mind, but...he secretly wishes you'd kiss along it, slowly working your way down to his aching member.
I = Intimacy: what can we expect from someone who reads romance webtoons to fantasize about you? every touch, every kiss, every caress, all laced with unspoken adoration. He wants to make you feel like you're the center of his world, because you are.
J = Jack Off: forget toys, he lives for your worn shirts, clutching them close as he ruts against his pillow, or as I mentioned earlier, he will do anything to make it feel or look like your hand💀 (he even bought the same perfume or cologne as you so..)
K = Kink: as a pleasure dom (maybe), he loves overstimulating you, light bondage- and the max is..temperature play.
Though...he wouldn't say no if you were the one edging him, he worships you, his body is yours👁️
L = Location: he prefers privacy, so the bedroom, but he wouldn't mind exploring with you. Though- he'll have to cover your mouth the whole time cause duh, only he gets to hear your noises, they're meant for him anyways.
M = Motivation: It depends on you, but honestly it doesn't take much, one teasing look and he's shifting uncomfortably in his chair👁️
N = NO: ageplay, cnc, dubcon, incest ecc, anything that makes you uncomfortable.
O = Oral: LOVES giving, takes his sweet time to savor every second, turns him on SO much he actually came untouched the first time..🏃‍♀️
P = Pace: he loves to take things slow, teasing you until you're on edge, then building up the intensity.
Q = Quickie: not his first choice, but if the time calls he'd absolutely indulge, promising that he'll take care of you like you deserve later.
R = Risk: He's willing to try anything you suggest but if it involves any harm or risk towards you, it's a sharp no.
S = Stamina: Clive can go longer than you'd imagine, you reactions and your pleasure fuel him, his jaw is about to dislocate? don't care, he's isn't done with you yet.
T = Toy: he doesn't own any toys, he'll try to respect your choice if you use them but poor guy is so scared you might like them better than him, will overstimulate himself for hours inside you, just to prove you can use him instead👁️
U = Unfair: teasing is his specialty. He'll trail kisses around your neck, whispering dirty promises, only to pull back when you need more, he wants you to be vocal with your needs.
V = Volume: he's definetely vocal and expressive; whimpers, soft gasps, praises, all in the most desperate and needy tone you can imagine.
W = Wild Card: his brain gets all fuzzy, he'll try not to confess too quickly but...💀
X = X-Ray: we've seen the image of his torso...and the other image..i had on my patreon....(i'll redraw it today cause hell no, don't join yet💀)
Y = Yearning: the more connected he feels to you, the more craves intimacy, it doesn't have to be sexual, just touch him :(
Z = ZZZ: he stays up watching you, brushing his fingers against your skin. Once he's sure you're safe and comfortable, he'll let himself drift to sleep.

Hi Sam! I wanted to ask if you feel lately like you've been getting anything positive out of your therapy, because a lot of your initial thoughts about it kind of mirror mine. I'm very logical (except when I'm upset at myself) and very skeptical, so I feel like a therapist either isn't going to tell me anything new, or that I'm going to just disregard it because I can't trick myself into believing things that I just plain don't believe.
But I'm also starting to come to a realization, two years after my ADHD diagnosis and letting go (without therapy!) of most of the executive dysfunction-fueled self worth issues I was having, that I'm kind of Not Okay in other ways. I'm safe —going to work every day and doing my job so I won't lose my livelihood and have never had a self harm urge in my life— But I'm not really okay. I'm having major self esteem issues related to my personality separate from the executive dysfunction that are putting me in a bad place. I don't want to take antidepressants for reasons I won't go into but that means my other option is therapy and... I don't know if I'm a person that therapy will actually work on. I found a lot of validation in some of your perspectives, about affirmations being bullshit and "mindfulness" exercises feeling impossible and useless, about not having an inner monologue and how that might be causing issues with traditional methods. So I was just wondering, do you feel like therapy is working now that you've been in it longer?
I've wasted a lot of money on "elective" (and ultimately useless, back to square one) medical nonsense this year and I'm not eager to waste more, but I've also met my insurance deductible so it's the best time to try it if I'm going to.
I mean, it depends on the modality a little but I don't think trying basic talk therapy can hurt, as long as you find a decent therapist. And it's better to try it now when you're feeling Mostly Okay than waiting until you are Really Not Okay. But this entire paragraph comes with a lot of context so....
A lot of what I talked about in terms of struggling with mindfulness, etc. was less related to the therapy I am still in than it was to the DBT class I took at Therapist's suggestion. We were both aware that she was basically throwing stuff at the wall to see what stuck, and while it was an interesting class I don't think for me it was helpful. As you mention, I struggled with affirmations and visualization since neurologically I'm not really set up for those; I don't think they're objectively bullshit but I do think there's an assumption within the mental health industry that they will have function for everyone and that's simply untrue, and the expectation that it will is very damaging. I also struggled with the physical-intervention aspects (called TIPP usually) which didn't work at all for me and felt frankly like doctor-approved self harm. DBT can get very culty, which set off a ton of red flags for me -- possibly false flags, but they still waved real big.
And that's because I also have a lot of trust issues surrounding therapy. To the point where, the minute one of the people running the DBT class made actually quite gentle fun of me for asking a question he couldn't answer, I checked out on anything he said. We were learning about a DBT concept called Wise Mind and I asked, "If wise mind is an identifiable mental state, how do we know if we're in it?" and when he couldn't quite answer beyond "It's different for everyone" I said, "But if we know it's real there must be some kind of common denominator, a measurable data point," and he said "Well, Sam, you're not going to levitate" and the rest of the class laughed. Sorry bud, this is almost certainly an over-reaction, but I'm me and you lost me when you came at me instead of just admitting you didn't know. (Also it turns out I just live in Wise Mind like 80% of the time which is one reason I couldn't tell.)
But basic talk therapy outside of DBT is just...you talk at someone about your problems and come up with ways to try and solve them, which is a lot more straightforward and way less frustrating. You have to be an active participant, you have to both have a goal and be willing to discuss reaching it, but that goal can be as simple as just "figure out what my mental health goals should be" at first. You don't have to learn like, vocabulary for it.
The thing is, while I have seen some improvement in regulation issues, I also struggle with basic talk therapy. Most people, and this blew my mind, see measurable improvement in nine to eighteen therapy sessions. A lot of people don't go long-term, they just are having a moment and get help getting through the moment and then can disengage, with their therapist's approval.
I was in therapy consistently from the age of nine to eighteen and only stopped because I reached legal majority and physically refused to go.
Not one minute of those nine years did I want to be there. And, because none of the three therapists I saw across those years actually explained to me why I was there or how therapy worked, for me it felt like "Your punishment for having feelings is to speedrun every feeling you had this week in an hour, to a stranger." There was also what my current therapist believes to be some extremely unethical behavior going on, which didn't help.
So it has taken actually a lot of time to get to a place where I would even allow her to understand what help I need. I've been in therapy for about a year (generally weekly but there have been some gaps) and it has only recently gotten deeper than very basic interpersonal problem-solving.
Like, two weeks ago I told her, "I had a thought this week that I couldn't tell you about something I was doing because then you'd have material on me" (meaning blackmail material) "and that's a fucked-up thing to think." And once I'd actually identified it as fucked up I had zero issue telling her about it, wasn't even nervous as I did so. Who's she going to tell? She's literally legally constrained from telling.
I think well over half of what she does is either validate that whatever emotion I'm having is normal, affirm my reactions so I don't keep believing I behaved weirdly, or praise something I've done that was a positive act. Does this work? Not always, because I'm unfortunately very aware that it's part of her job to do those things. But yeah, sometimes. Even if you don't fully believe it, "Hey that was a really smart move" is nice to hear. Sometimes she helps me come up with a plan for stressful future events or (rarely) behavior modification, and sometimes she either provides me with research or points me towards research I can do on my own. We don't do meditation or affirmations or stuff like that.
Like, last week I brought up the fact that I hadn't really ever thought about how if I have a disability that causes emotional dysregulation and I got it from my parents, they also likely had undiagnosed emotional dysregulation when raising me. So she said I should look into research on children with emotionally dysregulated parents. I was pretty annoyed by what I found (the ONE TIME adults are the focus instead of the kids is the ONE TIME I needed to learn about the kids, really?) but it led to something that was both informative and upsetting, so we discussed that. And when I was stumped about how to move forward with the information, she suggested that my general coping mechanism of writing about it was probably a good plan.
(At which point I just silently advanced my powerpoint presentation to the next slide, where I had a series of quotes from the Shivadh novels where Michaelis, acting as a parent, repeatedly does the exact opposite of the upsetting thing, because I realized even before the meeting that it's an ongoing theme in my work whenever I deal with people being parents. It's a good thing she has a sense of humor and also that I do.)
So yeah. Going into therapy you have to be ready to reject a therapist if you don't like them or if they get weird and pushy, you have to be ready to be a self-advocate, but you are the client; it shouldn't be super difficult to find someone who can at least walk you through what you want from it and agree not to do the stuff you don't want, and if you want to stop going you just...stop going.
Good luck, in any case! I hope you get what you need, whether or not that ends up being therapy.

Lily Orchard doesn't understand File Explorer
(or she does, but she's hoping that you don't)
Content warning for discussions of abuse and incest. Also, this post is long as balls.
Okay, I wasn't going to make a post about this. I agree with Crim right now: there's no point interacting with Lily or her posts. She's shown herself to be completely full of garbage, and isn't convincing anyone outside of her inner circle with her recent posts.
Still, there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding as to why her recent explanations don't hold up to scrutiny, so I'm making this post to help people understand exactly why her evidence is bunk. If you're reading this, please don't bother Lily about it further. At this point, any further antagonism towards Lily only serves to convince her remaining fanbase that she's a helpless victim, and not the dangerous manipulator she truly is. With that out of the way, here's the sitch:
BACKGROUND: On September 5th, 2024, Lily Orchard briefly showed the contents of her Downloads folder during an editing stream. Keen observers noted a handful of peculiar filenames, including a .rar file with the exact name of a RWBY incest-themed fancomic, and a .zip folder with the name "aslutphone-0.22-pc.zip", which corresponds to a mobile phone-themed visual novel that is also incest-themed.
Tumblr media
The presence of fantasy adult material on Lily's computer is in of itself no concern - private kinks are private kinks, after all. However, some commentators noted similarities between the scenarios highlighted in "A Slut Phone" and statements made by Courtney Peet, Lily's sister, in regards to alleged abuse she experienced as a child at the hands of Lily.
Tumblr media
Almost immediately, anonymous asks were sent to Lily Orchard querying her about the contents of her folder. Rather than provide a relevant answer, she pretended those asks were related to a different game:
Tumblr media
It's reasonable to say that Lily didn't have an explanation handy at the time, at least, not one that would fit with her current public image. Still, the anon asks were piling up behind the scenes, and people on Lily's patreon discord were beginning to ask questions as well. On September 8th, three days after the initial discovery, Lily posted her explanation for one of the two files highlighted:
Tumblr media
According to Lily, "Sisters - Ruby&Yang.rar" is a full archive of the RWBY series, and she intended to mention Ruby and Yang in her "Sibling relationships" video, back in June. The fact that it shared its filename uniquely with an incest porn comic was totally a coincidence, and anyone who accused her of owning said porn comic was just a pervert themselves.
(what Lily, who frequently complains about disk space issues, was still doing with an alleged rip of RWBY that she had no intention of watching, I have no idea. But I digress) And finally on September 12th, after a week of anticipation, Lily had finally come up with her explanation for "A Slut Phone":
Tumblr media
It was all a trick to make her critics look stupid! She had downloaded a different game for an upcoming video, and had renamed the filename to, in her words, the "worst possible game I could find", just to catch out the trolls!
This is, to put it mildly, a little difficult to believe. Still, it's the explanation Lily provided, and the following day Lily provided evidence that proves the contents of that folder pertains to sexadvicesuccubus.exe, and that said contents had not been recently edited:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is where some of Lily's critics start to falter, accusing Lily of fabricating the contents of the above folder or changing around the other files. Personally, I'm willing to accept that the folder displayed *does in fact* contain the game data for "Sex Advice Succubus." However, there's still some glaring issues. For one, Lily is showing us a Windows File Folder here (with compressed data inside)
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the file spotted on September 5th was a .zip
Tumblr media
Another (minor) issue is that the filename for "A Slut Phone" looks different on its itch.io download page, compared to the name of the actual file (as demonstrated above). If Lily had simply copied the filename based on the itch.io page, her "decoy" folder would have been named differently As for the issues with the file's modification date... more on that after the break. And now, a brief intermission. The Lily Pit presents:
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH YOUR WEIRD PORN GAMES GETTING SPOTTED IN YOUR DOWNLOADS FOLDER
So, you're a reasonably successful youtube creator and occasional streamer, and one day someone spots a suspiciously named .zip file in your cluttered downloads folder:
Tumblr media
Worry not! Just follow these simple steps to exonerate yourself of any signs of pervertedness!
First, you're going to download a scapegoat game - don't worry about this game's raunchy title, it's far more tame than whatever wild stuff you're surely into:
Tumblr media
Now, go to your computer's date and time settings, and set it back far enough to avoid culpability:
Tumblr media
(In this case, we've adjusted it to the exact time of the original .zip's modification, but if nobody saw that part then you don't even have to worry!) While your PC's time is adjusted, extract the contents of the new game's .zip, and compress it while you're there:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rename the folder to match the filename of the .zip, and there you go!
Tumblr media
And if you're thinking "That's an awful lot of effort to go to to hide the fact that you've got weird porn on your computer",
You would be absolutely right.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled Lily Crit
... Shoot, where was I? Oh yeah, falsifying the "date modified" part of a file or folder is trivial. The evidence Lily provided proves nothing, and arguably, it makes her look even more suspicious than she was before.
Still, I do have to acknowledge that there is no definitive proof of those files' contents being what we suspected. Lily's explanations, however outlandish they are, could well be the honest truth...
... but let's be real, they're not.
Stop lying, Lily.

hey..
at what point do collectors opt to turn things from puppets to scrolls? I feel like turning an entire living creature into [a piece of paper] is very complicated, while turning them into simple puppets is easier because they keep all the same parts, just simplified and wood?
It is! It depends on the person's proficiency and understanding of the mechanism regarding when and how they change the creature. Once someone gets good at it, the creature can be transformed into a lifeless object without it dying in the process, and they will move on to more complex and efficient ways.
The way I see it, archiving is a form of information compression and storage—and there is A LOT of information. When looking at Earth creatures we have everything from single-cell bacteria to whales that range up to 100 quadrillion cells, all with different sizes. The smallest single-cell critter is 0.3 μm, while the largest single cell is an ostrich egg that can get to 18 cm. So it's not just noting "a cell"—there's also a lot of information about the cell content, size, the DNA, current water, and oxygen levels, what protein it contains and how much. Then there are spatial dimensions. (While we can consider there being more, especially in fiction, I’m sticking to three; trying to visualize four fills me with frustration and existential dread xD) Every cell has its place in space in relation to the others, and all the contents' relations are also important. If, suddenly, all histones materialize inside a mitochondria instead of the nucleus, we can have a problem. Additionally, physical and chemical processes gotta be considered. There's electricity powering our brains, hearts, running nerves, air in airways traveling to lungs, chemical signals traveling between synapses that also need to be accounted for. So, you have all the contents in space, their vectors, and building blocks. Thats a ton to save. This information has to be compressed to be preserved in an organized manner while also remaining lossless so that when returned to its original shape, it's as it was. Not even mentioning that in intelligent beings, there are also minds to take care of. Jellyfish might be fine after 100 years in a static void, but a human? Yhhhhh.
I think the mechanism would work by saving information in intangible magic and assigning it to a physical medium—be it a statue, doll, book, or scroll. If it is physical and can carry information, it can be used. We can argue the mind is part of the soul, or it is a biochemical process, but the fact is nobody really knows for sure what it is and Im not a theolog, so for the sake of this universe, I'll say it's something that occupies the same space magic does and is influenced by chemical processes, meeeeaning it can also be tricked by them. And the magic.
The first degree of preservation would be spells that only change the material but keep all shapes and info in place. This wouldn't require much thought while executing and could be "automated" or worse, taught to mortals (if they have enough magic to power the spell), like petrification or changing someone into wood, metal, or any other solid material. It's not perfect, if the structure is damaged, the spatial information is damaged too. Breaking is one thing, but imagine if the statue melts.
The next step would be assigning objects with some compression and change, like toys and dolls. I feel like there would need to be a system like a content library, so not every single atom is saved each time, but chemical structures like nucleotides in DNA (the ATGC thingies) would just have a shortcut. Larger repeating patterns could also be assigned their own id to save data, and it would slowly stack up. While things are written in intangible magic form and anchored to the medium, the medium can be somewhat customized, like the decorations the Collector added to the dolls. The mind, running in controlled magic, can also be affected, as we saw with Collie trying to scare them and Luz’s dream. On the spell keeping the preserved critter stable has a link to what shortcut it uses so with countless diffrent worlds and structres it wouldnt mix up.
Then we go further into compression, reducing size and dimensions until we reach a point where one axis is almost entirely removed, and we end up with a scroll. Then there are other things—creatures saved as amber miniatures, snow globes, scrolls, or drawings, sometimes purely to annoy the sibling that has to deal with the creature in unhandy form. A more permanent binding would be in a book that can contain a bunch of different animals. Rebinding for long-term preservation is the Curator’s job.
Looking at Earth creatures, eucariotic life shares ancestry with some ancient bacteria that decided to rebel and started to cooperate, so we share similarities even with distant organisms in some strutures since they come from each other. So when it comes to preserving whole populations with relations, the library of compression doesn’t have to be separate for every single animal or plant. For each section of the archive, there would be a common library of building blocks, and scrolls being somewhat separate carrying the exact instructions for body arrangement and the soul/mind/the part that makes them alive attached.
Next is unpacking the information. I think this requires the ability to interpret and recreate what was saved that mortals lack. While they couldn't really unpetrify others, a collector could (assuming the mind hadn’t deteriorated into a husk). In the case of an automated spell, I think it would result in a very lossy transmutation—like a jpg losing pixels, the creature might lose like heart funtion. The Collector's spell also looked temporary or incomplete since an influx of other types of magic (like in Amity or Raine’s case) was able to push back on it. That might also be why they were conscious in the form they were in. Not meant for long just enough to take them to archive in normal conditions. When a creature is heavily compressed, it needs external force to rebuild, as it's essentially written fully in magic. That’s what I think happened to the Owl Beast. Lilith released it from the medium, but since it wasn’t fully rebuilt, it being a magic form attached itself to a magic source.
SO YEAH, its a process that takes quite a while for them to master and it comes with experience. But when experience is based on life it often makes it hard to practice so those with less empathetic approach master it faster. Thanks for the ask! I was dying to talk about that for such a long time and that was a perfect thing to organise thoughts

Since you're the Queen of Puppet Zelda, what are your thoughts on these possible explanations for her level of autonomy?
Is Puppet Zelda merely made of Gloom and acts as a physical extension of Gannondorf himself so he has a set of eyes, ears, and hands that can travel and exert influence outside of his perch in the Depths, but as a higher quality puppet/projection (and therefore more taxing on his power to maintain) than the Gloom Hands and Phantom Gannons? Or is she a separate being entirely, created by him, but given her own agency, mind, and will to make her own decisions, in so far as she's still a slave to doing Gannondorf's bidding? She doesn't need constant effort on his part to control or exist, but would have probably cost him a chunk of his power upfront to create.
Could she be something else?
First, let's rectify one thing: I am NOT the Queen of Puppet Zelda. Puppet Zelda IS MY QUEEN. (But thanks for the compliment, I am blushing over here 🤭)
Secondly, thank you so much for your interest in my HC. I will happily share my thoughts on this criminally underused character that has drama written all over. This is an overview okay because I feel I could write a freakin thesis paper on Puppet Zelda
Quick note: I am not pretending to be right or to have the absolute truth. This is my headcanon, the backstory in the back of my mind when I draw my Puppet Zelda art.
All headcanons are valid, games are interactive media, and the relationship and connections one has with a game are personal.
As you might know, English is not my first language and  visual support helps me explain things... so I made a graphic. I hope this will help understand my take of this character and why I love her so much🤣🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
In a nutshell:
I think Puppet Zelda is an independent minion created by Ganondorf using his magic powers. He created a shell in Zelda's image from 10 000 years ago to do his bidding and re-used her 10 000 years later to distract Link to buy himself the time to regenerate to full power.
Exhibit A: Ganondorf's Magic
If Ganondorf can spawn a whole list of monsters and gloom hands, he created Puppet Zelda too. The monsters are not continually controlled by Ganondorf, right? They do his bidding, they do what they were "programmed & designed" for, we might even say. I think it's the same for Puppet Zelda. But she is definitely a more defined and complex creation.
Exhibit B: The Hot henchwoman trope
I am not gonna lie: This is one of my very favorite tropes.... EVER! I always fall for the hot henchwomen. Ganon's quote from the glorious Sanctum scene during  the "Crisis at Hyrule Castle" scene makes me absolutely think she is indeed autonomous. "Did my puppet distract you?" Ganondorf asks Link in that chilling and subtext filled scene.
Puppet Zelda had one objective: To distract Link.
Ganon was busy regenerating. Having to control or act through someone would've been too power consuming. I don't buy it's a manifestation of him. AT ALL. so...yeah. hot henchwoman trope. Also, I'm a lesbian and I have no interest whatsoever in Ganondorf.
...HOT HENCHWOMAN TROPE SUPREMACY!! Yep. Fanservice for me.
Exhibit C: Real Zelda's Angst
This is where it's getting twistingly FUN.
This is an HC I assimilated like a borg from my ZHS buddy @kazraza  Her theory is so ***** angsty and delicious and I love it!
At the time of King Rauru and Queen Sonia, Ganondorf created a pawn with Zelda's appearance so that it could get close to them and attack.
Then, in order to distract Link 10 000 years later, Ganondorf had to "refine" his weapon. He needed "data and real Zelda knowledge" uploaded into Puppet Zelda to ensure her credibility and the success of her mission. He wanted to make sure she could distract Link and trick him.
And where did all this personal knowledge of Real Zelda's innermost intimate thoughts and insecurities come from, you may ask?
Well from the real Zelda herself of course!!
But when and where was this data collected?
We believe all of Zelda's Angst was leached directly from her during her 100 years mystic battle containing Calamity Ganon in this Malice Cocoon in Breath of the Wild. *GASP* Puppet Zelda was there all along in Breath of the Wild....absorbing all of Zelda's angst!!!
This is why everyone was confused and tricked by Puppet Zelda in TotK. This is why Puppet Zelda asks Link if he remembers their time at Hyrule Castle: she has Zelda's pre-calamity memories and this why Link is so tortured in my art! She can REALLY mess with him big time. I really like to think there is a part of real Zelda inside Puppet Zelda. Her dark side: Her anger, her cockiness, her jealousy, her selfishness... her desire.
She is also kind of Zelda's answer to Dark Link.
Tumblr media
Alright I wrote enough for tonight. To whoever took precious minutes of their lives to read this well...thank you! I am now moving on with my life too 🤣
For more HC about Puppet Zelda, her powers and influences, this should be all covered in future art
(i hope)
Cheers!! And glory to Puppet Zelda ✋

While I get that a lot of anti-AI arguments are reactionary or whatever, I still feel grief knowing that people won't really start drawing anymore. Nobody will get to enjoy learning to draw because they'll be expected to be as impressive as AI is. Kids won't draw in school, nobody will develop new styles, drawing as a form of play will dissolve as a concept, because all visual art will suddenly no longer compare to AI art.
And for those of us who were already artists, we'll be scoffed at as nothing but archaic neanderthals whose only purpose is feeding more data into the machine. We were barely respected as people before, but now we'll be told that the decades we spent on our craft was entirely wasted, and drawing will become nothing more than a party trick.
I have friends currently learning to draw right now, including disabled ones, and I have to preemptively mourn the fact that they will inevitably have to give up entirely, because expectations will demand it.

Relying on your own working eyes. (hundred line / aitsf crossover drabble)
genre: explorative, mostly casual with a bit of horror
length: 2k
summary: ABIS Detective Shizuhara and her AI-Ball companion Darumi enjoy a game of fetch while waiting for Psync engineers Tsubasa and Yugamu to finish their work. Meanwhile, Detective Sumino wakes up on the ground somewhere.
content warnings: mention of alcohol, main characters are police, 15A yuri puppygirl arc silliness
spoiler status: full spoilers for the first route. name spoilers for chapter 00. thematic spoilers from numerous different routes.
AN: Been thinking of a psyncer AU with the THL characters for the past few days. Originally it was going to just be Darumi and Hiruko as a duo, but I'm a psychological horror writer, I can do way better than that. I have no idea whether I'd want to make this a full story, but I do have a couple of plot points cemented in stone. And I'm not sure if I got all of the AITSF lore right. Either way, I hope you enjoy this idea I began working with.
Also yes this is the logical outcome of the Psyncer Daruko brainworms getting me.
-----------
"Ready… set… go!"
Hiruko flicked her finger. With her other hand, she pressed the button on a timer. She watched as Darumi, in the form of a small gel-formed puppy, skittered around the billiards table, chasing the marble she'd flicked. The moment the marble collided with Darumi's body, she pressed the STOP button.
This was a game she came up with in order to improve Darumi's reaction time. Using the break room's billiards table as a field, she'd flick a marble and time how long it took Darumi to catch it. The game had netted Darumi some useful skills- the ability to predict the path of a bouncing marble, and the ability to factor friction into her calculations. Plus (and this was enrichment for Darumi) it was much like a master playing fetch with their dog.
AIs were formed from data- gaining personalities and experience from simply existing in the world around them. There was simply no way to predict how an AI's personality would turn out. Often, Hiruko wondered what trick of statistics had created Darumi, who had the personality of a teenage girl who did nothing but play eroges and edgy visual novels all day. Darumi had a morbid sense of humor, masking an uncommon sense of sympathy for those who felt like they were truly alone. Maybe that's why she enjoyed being Hiruko's puppy. And maybe that was why Hiruko appreciated her presence so much- Darumi produced unique insights into the human heart that Hiruko simply wasn't capable of.
The little eyeball puppy strutted back to Hiruko, pushing the marble with her little gel-formed legs. Her tail wagged back and forth.
Hiruko glanced at the timer. "5.21 seconds. Good girl." She patted Darumi's squishy head with one finger as the single pink eye gazed up at her.
"Eeheehee…. I love playing fetch." The little dog's tail wagged even harder.
"Up for another round?"
"Anything for you, Mistress Hiruko."
"Then let's begin." Hiruko readied the marble again. "Ready-"
FLICK!
She intentionally flicked the marble early. Immediately, she started the timer.
The marble began to ricochet off the sides of the billiards table. Darumi stood stunned for a moment before she raced off towards the marble, aiming for the end of its trajectory. It slowed to a near stop before Darumi managed to catch it with her tiny body. She rolled her prize back to Hiruko, her tail wagging.
Hiruko glanced at the timer and gave a dissatisfied huff. "6.44 seconds. That's over one second more than last time. "
Darumi's tail and ears drooped. "Mmm. Not fair!"
"Why not?"
Darumi stamped her front legs. "You throw the ball at 'go'! Those are the rules of fetch!"
"Do you think criminals in the real world respect cues like that?" Hiruko crossed her arms. "They don't. Codes of honor don't apply to them. They'll do anything to gain the upper hand. That includes shooting before they finish saying 'Ready, set, go'." She sighed. "As my partner, you must always be vigilant. Don't fall prey to little tricks like that. Understood?"
Darumi's tail drooped. "Yes, Mistress."
"Good girl." Hiruko left a couple of pats on Darumi's head with her finger before glancing at the door. "Are those two done with the tuneup yet?"
She held her hand out for Darumi to hop on. In one swift motion, she'd slipped her companion back into her eye socket where she belonged.
In the Psync control room, she saw two familiar faces. One was a woman wearing a baseball cap, plugging cables into a server box. The other was a man wearing an embroidered kimono and sporting an eyepatch, sitting on a nearby chair.
"Done." The woman stood up and wiped the sweat off her brow. "Yugamu, can you check if the database permissions are working?"
"Sure thing, Tsubasa." Yugamu lackadaisically glanced at the computer screen next to him. "One set of credentials for everyone, right?"
"Yup. SIREI and NIGOU should have Level 3, Hiruko and Darumi have Level 2, and everyone else has Level 1."
"Oh, for the love of murder… How am I supposed to find that?"
"Let me look." Tsubasa glanced at the computer over his shoulder and navigated through a series of data tables before finding the right one. "Level 3, Level 2, and… Level 1. Registration for Detective Shizuhara and AI-Ball Darumi… successful. Yup, we're good." She sighed and stretched her arms out. "Your permissions for the new server system seem to be working perfectly."
"Darumi?" Hiruko asked. "Test our permissions."
At once, Hiruko's superimposed vision was filled with various pictures, as well as various error messages for files with higher clearance levels.
"I see no issues." Hiruko crossed her arms. "Good job."
"Phew!" Tsubasa yawned and slumped her shoulders. "I know SIREI said we had to wait for Takumi and Shion to come in person, but… "
"They didn't respond to our summons." Yugamu gave his signature mischievous grin. "Maybe I should sneak into Takumi's apartment and bring him here by force?"
"Don't even think about it. It's late, and I doubt SIREI and NIGOU are even active." Tsubasa threw Yugamu a harsh look. "Well, as long as he's here by tomorrow night, we shouldn't have any issues." She sighed and turned back to Hiruko. "Either way, now that your new permissions have been set up with the new server system, you'll be able to use an encrypted connection to access classified files within your clearance level out in the field instead of relying on us to send them over manually. That means no more asking us for data and hoping we're not on our lunch break."
"Higher clearance files still require SIREI's permission in real time, correct?" Hiruko asked.
Yugamu nodded. "That's right. Additionally, the Wadjet System source code has been added to the server box as well for ease of backups. No more worrying about your AI-Balls getting destroyed out in the field and losing a whole day's worth of data." Yugamu tapped his chin with a smile. "As the brains behind the Wadjet side of things, I made sure of it. This means Darumi can have a little more freedom out in the field."
"Really now?" Hiruko gave an excited grin. "You hear that, Darumi? Are you ready to go wild out there?"
"I'll cut down everything in my path!" Darumi's excited chirp incited Hiruko to smile a little wider.
"When you're two inches tall?" Tsubasa asked.
"For her Mistress, I'm sure she could stop a bullet or two." Yugamu chuckled.
"Was that meant to be a joke? Her AI might have a backup system, but her physical chassis doesn't!"
Friendly banter and eventually silence passed between the four of them as Tsubasa logged out of the ABIS control system. The lights around them went dark.
"Well, we'll be heading home now," Tsubasa reached for her work bag and pulled it over her shoulder. "Call me if you need anything."
...
Hiruko left the office before the two engineers, making one last stop before she entered the elevator to the ground floor. She opened up the door to SIREI and NIGOU's office. The two egg-shaped robots sat on the lone desk in the center of the room, motionless.
Nobody in this department likes to admit they take orders from a robot, Hiruko thought to herself, before closing the door.
-----------------------
"Phwah!"
Takumi's eye opened the moment he felt cold water hitting his face. He shot up to a sitting position and wiped the water from his one working eye, feeling it run down his face and hair.
In front of him, a small gel-formed creature was holding up an empty glass. He realized it had poured water on his face.
"You're finally awake." Takumi heard the AI-Ball's voice in his head as though it were clear as day. "Can you hear me? Do you know where you are?"
Takumi slowly began to take inventory of his surroundings. First, he was in his apartment's kitchen. He must have passed out there. The lights were still on. Second, there was only darkness through the windows. It must have been nighttime. Third, he had a horrible headache. He must have been drinking.
He yawned and staggered to his feet. After finding a couple of rags, he used them to clean up the spilled water. At the same time, he pulled some leftovers from the fridge and began eating them. The AI-Ball, shaped like a small fiery creature with two arms, patiently watched him from the countertop with its violet eye.
"Shion, how long was I out?" Takumi asked, not looking up from the wet floor.
"About eight hours."
"That long?"
"You have six missed calls from the Engineer team and three missed calls from Hiruko. As well as five missed texts to your cell phone."
"Can you summarize them?"
"They're about permissions for the new server system. The others asked you to come into the office so they could get those set up for us in person. However, because you were unresponsive for so long, they said you could come in tomorrow instead."
"I see." Takumi sighed. "I must have caused a big commotion over there. I'll have to apologize when I see them again."
"Is everything okay, Takumi?"
Takumi glanced up at Shion, who was still sitting patiently on the countertop. He gave an apologetic look before shaking his head. "No."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Not right now."
"I won't ask, then."
Takumi gave a small smile as he finished drying the floor. After disinfecting Shion, he popped the purple AI-Ball back into his head, rejoicing at the feeling of his depth perception returning to him.
Shion was always like that- he was gentle, his personality naturally conflict-avoidant. Like a shy child, he had to be coaxed out of his shell and treated with patience. However, it couldn't be denied that he wasn't stubborn the same way Takumi was. He was good at encouraging his partner to see other perspectives. In the world of Somnium, this manifested as many long conversations about the mindsets of the subjects while suspended in their inner worlds- trying to understand how they thought, including the ones Takumi had written off as truly depraved. For his part, Shion loved understanding the world through the surreality of dreams.
He could hardly forget what Shion told him about his own mindscape- "Like a giant, colorful aquarium, where your memories float around like bubbles and swim around like fish." Takumi was flattered by the description, until Shion continued. "A shark broke in, though. It tried to eat me, and I couldn't chase it away. I ended up hiding in your closet while watching it eat all of the fish, one by one."
...
In the bathroom, Takumi stared down at the sink before washing his face and drying it off with a towel.
"You should probably wash your hair before tomorrow," Shion said. "You fell asleep on the floor, after all. SIREI would be upset if you showed up with a bad case of bedhead."
Shion never complained about anything unless he was really worried. That was part of the understanding between them.
Takumi confirmed his feelings. "Were there any stains on my face? Do I look like I was asleep on the floor the whole time, or do I look normal? Be honest."
"You'll look fresher after a bath."
Sounds like Shion's way of saying "you look like you just took a nap in the dirt outside".
"I'll do that, then." Takumi stretched his arms out, continuing to stare down at the sink.
He didn't look up. He was curious, but he didn't look up at his reflection.
Shion had gotten used to one of Takumi's other quirks by now. He even accommodated where most people didn't.
There was a reason Takumi never looked at himself in the mirror.

How Electronic Message Boards Assist In Updating
Tumblr media
Electronic message boards are fairly prevalent today, and their usage seems to be proliferating. Message boards in electronic kind properly interact swiftly upgraded company memoranda, final timetable modifications, and marketing, three fairly various applications providing one an idea of the breadth that this medium has gotten to. Herein we explore the phenomenon both generally and in regards to the power released when incorporated with an integrated clock system.
Electronic message boards derive from a lengthy background of open-air communication making use of indicators, billboards, marquees, and so on. Trick attributes were the layouts utilized and the feedback time for updating info. The most usual style entailed drawing on comprehensive personality collections, containing letters, numbers, and spelling, to create words, hanging them from hooks or resting them on wooden slats.
Posts were changed by hand, and updates were thus irregular. In time, updating was improved and somewhat automated using electronic control, such as seen with old baseball park scoreboards.
However, there was still the danger of lacking specific characters and being rendered unable to display all words in your message. This problem was addressed when the dot matrix selection was created, which stood for any type of character (in any type of typeface)-- also graphics-- with a rectangular pattern of on-or-off dots. These could be published on paper, yet a lot more effective was to present them in grids of light bulbs or on a screen.
Mapping formulas converted text into ranges of dots virtually instantaneously, and while drivers entered on a console, messages scrolled across the screen in essentially live. This system still required manual work, however the display screen tool was much easier to read, new, and updatable in a matter of moments. Whence the birth of electronic message boards that utilized light bulbs as the dots, or pixels.
Early light bulbs were incandescent, and were really the only choice; nonetheless, they had brief life-spans and prone to failing from shock. By the millenium, light producing diodes (LED) were a fully grown innovation and available in several shades, including white. Additionally, they outlived incandescent light bulbs by approximately 50 times, were not so breakable, and rapidly came to be the recommended part for message boards.
In time developers got extra creative with the tool and wanted to have more than one "on" shade to deal with. LEDs can fulfill this desire with their 3-in-1 mix of the 3 primary colors to synthesize white light; by choosing different sub-combinations you can obtain 7 various shades.
At some point, upgrading had to transition out of its humble manual origins. Now, textual info can be gotten in real time or gotten from data sources, and software is utilized to map the information right into matrices of (color-coded) dots that get buffered and presented quickly, effortlessly, and effortlessly. Graphics can be incorporated if they are mapped in advance.
Therefore, the modern digital boards are essentially automated, though there are provisions for bypassing scheduled programs with brand-new content in emergencies. Synchronous timekeeping systems manage everything.
An intriguing advancement is the integration of sound signals with the visual information being displayed on a sign in either textual or visual kind. It is popular that a close coordination of both kinds of sensuous stimulations has a tendency to get the message throughout many successfully. It's not a combination of both elements into tune, yet rather the use of sounds (bells, tones, whistles) as focus grabbers to change emphasis of the target market to what the board is showing, whether it be information or other timely information. synchronized clocks for hospitals
The world has actually expanded tired with fixed messaging in regards to both web content and style. Things need to be vibrant to sign up, and this needs constant educational updates. With this article we have seen exactly how electronic message boards promote updating.
