Best Haunted House is defined in a post-experience survey. Guests (visitors to the haunted house) are given a poll to rate their experience, and the haunted house with the highest ratings wins.

The guests are a bunch of overconfident college students who want to see some scary stuff.

For the sake of the competition, all competitors are adequately motivated to make an amazing haunted house and win this contest. They are aware of all rules, and will do everything in their power to win without breaking them.

Any contestant who murders or intentionally injures guests is disqualified.

Chemically or magically altering a persons mind is not allowed.

No bribery.

Contestants have freedom of any powers they would have in canon. If canon were to have an episode or spin-off story about building a haunted house, which of these villains could create the scariest haunted house ever?

Motivations:

Anita Fite (Empress)

Anita Fite was done and has continued to be done dirty for a long time. She spent the original Young Justice run being preyed on by older men, bullied, drawn half naked, been foisted with stereotypical depictions of Vodou, having her major spotlight arc co-opted by a random team up if basically every teen hero, having the climax of her spotlight arc instead going to more Cissie angst, and then receiving an incredibly dumb write out. Literally every member of Young Justice save her (and Slobo, but his circumstances are trickier) has since resurfaced in modern comics. Anita deserves her chance in the spotlight. The current continuity reset means we don't have to stay married to her bullshit ending. There's a lot of potentially interesting ground to cover with her relationships to the loa. She can have more insane homoerotic tension with other women. Maybe she'll almost stab a werewolf to death for looking at the girl she likes wrong again! DC is also sorely lacking a magical team book at the moment. She'd do great on a team as the magic user who actually knows how to throw a punch Bring her back!!!

MC Monday - HS Yearbooks - Tobias & Casey Edition

Yearbook Photos:

Casey & Tobias's high school experiences were similar insofar as they were both very studious and driven, but also knew how to have some fun. (Some for Casey, a lot for Tobias.)

Casey's parents sacrificed to move to a more affluent suburb when she entered HS (something she did not like at all), but it was still a public school; Tobias went to Sidwell Friends, one of the most prestigious private schools in the DC area. It's typically the school of the President's children and he was in class with dignitaries, so it was a bit different.

As adults, they were both impressed with each other's selection of quotes. Both having picked quotes from individuals that the other admired very much as well.

Senior Poll:

Tobias chuckled when he saw that Casey and Ryan had been voted Cutest Couple. He told her he did not disagree, but that he and Casey would have killed that category if they had been in school together.

He was impressed that Casey was voted Most Likely to Succeed even though it was still a bit of a sore spot for him that he lost out (came in second) in that category. Of course, the person who beat him went on to become the youngest president of a small European nation, but Tobias said that's irrelevant.

Casey rolled her eyes and said "No shit!" when she was Tobias was Class Flirt. She pointed out that he continued to be until he met her. He kissed her and said, "That's just how magical you are, baby."

(Former yearbook editor geek - me - note here): Yep, a bit of a change in hairstyle for Tobias. Senior polls (at least in my school) were done mid-year and photos were taken after they were completed. Yearbook photos were taken the summer before senior year, so the man changed up his look. He was still caught after for flirting (and more) either way.

Yearbook Ads:

I picture Casey's mother Rose to be a scrapbooker, and therefore Casey's ad was homemade with a lot of love. I HC Rose and David quarreling over this, with him insisting they do something more traditional and "not embarrass the girl" and Rose tells him to shush because he doesn't know what he is talking about.

The note from her parents is a lyric from Tim McGraw's "My Little Girl". A song both of her parents love and they would dance around the living room to the song with her when she was younger. Tobias's school had 3 templates that parents could select from. Being that it was such a selective school, there were too many parents who were all but (and some actually) hiring PR firms to make the ads. Vivian was outraged because that was her exact plan.

Tobias's family note summed up his childhood, yes, a lot of love, but also the constant reminder that he needed to live up to the family name. He wasn't thrilled with the inscription, especially because he was going through some coming-of-age conflicts with his parents at the time. In retrospect, he feels bad about being difficult in regard to it, especially since his father is now gone. He did tell Vivian how much he appreciates it in later years.

Now in Japan, there is a vote on the most popular character. People buy tickets and vote. The first day has passed, and I am shocked by how huge the fanbases of Shuichi, Amuro and Haibara are. Like, I also like these characters (not as much as Shinichi, Ran or Kid) und I understand, why people love them, but I still don't understand such a HUGE popularity with them 😕 Conan and Shinichi (and Shin-chan throws me into complete shock) are fifth and sixth. Heiji is seventh, and my baby girl Ran is not even in the top ten, very sad 😞. I really hope that after the voting is over, Aoyama-san won't change his mind with Shinran 🙏

(pt. 2) Even Sera is in top ten (and in latest arcs I don't really like her) 😩 What am I missing in my life? It seems to be my destiny to love unpopular characters...

Anyway, I am not surprised. Saying that the Shuichi and Amuro fanbase is huge in Japan is a great understatement. My dude, they are NOT unpopular AT ALL. They are. so. so. SO. Popular. More than you could ever imagine. They are present in all types of merch and posters and designs and all that. Japanese fans (who are mostly fangirls) love them. Top it with the upcoming movie and their popularity spikes even more. So this is understandable for me. Just a little disappointed to hear that Ran isn’t among the top. :’( Justice for my girl. Conan and Shin at fifth and sixth is <//3 That’s just how popular Shuichi and Amuro are, bumping the main character out of top 5 (Ahhh. P a i n).

But if you say that it’s just the first day then maybe it’s not too late?

(And nah, Gosho is not going to change his mind about ShinRan bc of this. I watched his interview and our dude be using shoujo manga and drama as references to boost DC romantic scenes HAAHHAAH apparently he’s sappy like that. like us lol)

Languge you speak/ are learning: I speak English and have taken french for 8/9 years and lived in france for a couple weeks.  I’m not really learning other languages but I kind of pick up on bits and pieces of other languages that I hear, and I watch a lot of foreign movies and tv shows so sometimes I like think in this language called Korfrenglidutchese XD.  Basically I know random words/phrases/exclamations in Dutch, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Italian (I only know the Italian prayer my papa taught me and the curse words he taught me, even though I’m Italian XD), and German.  And it gets hard when in French class I can’t remember the English or French word for blood, and all I can think of is the Korean word...  Stuff like that.  (even though English is my first language XD)

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3 may have only aired two episodes so far, but viewers already have plenty of opinions to share about the current plot lines. Fans have voiced their frustration over a number of relationship situations, with Ariela Weinberg receiving plenty of criticism for her controversial decision to have her ex-husband Leandro visit her and her current husband Biniyam Shibre. However, Ariela isn’t alone when it comes to season villains, as Evelin Villegas also ranked highly for causing drama.

Sunday night’s episode saw many 90 Day Fiancé viewer opinions shift when it comes to Ariela. Though the mother still has defenders who believe the drama is contrived for TV, Ariela was blasted by viewers for rubbing her life with Biniyam in Leandro’s face. Fans labeled Ariela audacious for telling Leandro that he could have had a baby like Aviel but he didn’t want to. Meanwhile, Evelin is in the same place with Corey Rathgeber when it comes to stringing him along. The Ecuadorian woman is now trying to get Corey to pay $50,000 for a lavish wedding.

One viewer shared a poll to the r/90dayfianceuncensored Reddit asking viewers to choose the leading villain for The Other Way season 3 out of six options. Ariela and Evelin dominated the poll, with Ariela pulling ahead to have the most fans declare her the early season villain. Many viewers are angry on behalf of Biniyam and are worried Ariela might break his heart. “Ari by a wide margin. She has a very good man in Bini yet she decides to invite the ex scum-bag husband to stay with her in NJ and then Ethiopia to start all kinds of trouble,” one viewer expressed. “If you’re voting Ari over Evelin then we need to have a chat 😅,” another viewer weighed in. Overall, it appeared both Evelin and Ariela are widely disliked by fans.

Last in the poll was Leandro, as many viewers don’t appear to blame him for the drama between Ariela and Biniyam. Meanwhile Sumit Singh also only received a small number of votes, even though many viewers are frustrated that he appears to be endlessly avoiding marrying his partner Jenny Slatten. Two of the newer cast members both received a small portion of votes even though Ariela and Evelin were the overwhelming choices for villains. Steven Johnston ranked third, as viewers are angry with the hypocritical way Steven treats his Russian partner Alina. Meanwhile, Victor also received some votes after it was revealed he cheated on his partner Ellie Rose.

Fortunately, there is one The Other Way season 3 couple who offsets the drama. Viewers universally adore Kenneth Niedermeier and Armando Rubio. The fan-favorite couple is planning their dream wedding- or rather Armando and his daughter Hannah are mapping things out while Kenny hopes it doesn’t break the bank. Meanwhile, viewers are excited to get to know the two new couples, even though many are already hoping to see them split up due to Steven and Victor’s shady behavior. Overall, Ariela and Evelin are in line to become major franchise villains if their 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3 plot lines don’t take a turn for the better.

What the elections of 2017 say about 2018

ON DECEMBER 12th, as Alabamans headed to the polls to choose a new senator, Tawanna Dunagan stood on Graymont Avenue in downtown Birmingham holding up a Doug Jones sign, exhorting passers-by to vote for the Democratic candidate. She had opted for Alabama Democrats in past elections, but 2017, she said, felt different: “People out here are voting like Obama’s on the ballot.”

One month earlier Virginia saw turnout hit a 20-year high in its governor’s election, and there too the Democrat (Ralph Northam) won. In fact, although Democrats won just two of the seven special elections to the House and Senate in 2017, they outperformed expectations in all of them. At year’s end they enjoy an 11-point advantage over Republicans on a generic ballot. In Alabama, Donald Trump now has a net favourability rating of zero, despite winning the state by 28 points in 2016. Data such as these suggest that the midterms of 2018 could be a wave election for Democrats—but thanks to gerrymandering and their voters’ concentration in urban centres, translating enthusiasm into congressional majorities may prove difficult.

Though Alabama’s electorate is smaller, more conservative and less educated than Virginia’s, the two elections offer similar lessons. First, Democrats appear more motivated than Republicans. Turnout surged in liberal northern Virginia, and the big cities and black-majority counties of Alabama. In Alabama turnout fell in majority-white, rural areas; that was not as true in Virginia, but Democrats banked enough votes in urban centres to cancel out the Republican showing in rural areas.

In both states, non-white and young voters broke decisively for Democrats. Mr Jones won 96% of black voters—and 98% of black women, while Mr Northam took 80% of Virginia’s non-white voters. Both candidates won majorities of voters younger than 45, decisively lost voters 65 and older and barely lost voters between the ages of 45 and 65. That should worry Republicans: Americans born since 1980 have taken over from baby-boomers as America’s largest generation, and 43% of millennial adults are non-white. Republicans are appealing to a dying generation at the expense of a growing one.

Republicans should also worry about their slipping hold on the suburbs. Mr Jones decisively won Alabama’s five biggest cities and their surrounding counties, three of which Mr Trump won by 13 points or more. Republicans may take some comfort from the unique toxicity of Mr Jones’s opponent, Roy Moore; their primary voters will not always stump for a preening bigot accused of molesting teenage girls.

But Mr Northam doubled the previous Democratic governor’s margin in the suburbs of Washington, DC. Earlier in 2017 Democrats nearly stole a seat in the deeply Republican Atlanta suburbs. With Steve Bannon, Mr Trump’s former chief strategist and campaign architect, threatening to back challengers to Republicans he deems insufficiently loyal to Mr Trump, the types of Republicans who can win moderate and independent voters may find themselves incapable of surviving primaries.

Statewide victories do not always translate into success in congressional districts. Democrats dilute their vote by living near each other in big cities. Gerrymandering also hurts; Alan Abramowitz, a political scientist, predicts that Democrats need to win 52% of the votes nationally to win a House majority. And Democrats face an unfavourable Senate map: they have to flip two Republican seats and retain all 26 of their own, including ten in states that Mr Trump won, to take the chamber. That is a tall order, even if people keep voting like Mr Obama is on the ballot.
