Wednesday, September 6th, full moon
The police force was at a loss for how to respond to the unexpected call that had come in. The night air was cold and still, and it would have been a peaceful evening if not for the persistent sniffing and barking of the dogs. The officers stood there, uncertain of what awaited them, their minds racing with possibilities and their hearts pounding with anticipation. It was a moment of suspense, as they prepared themselves for whatever lay ahead, ready to face the unknown with courage and determination. It had been a while since anything like this had occurred in Beacon Hills, and the residents were understandably anxious. The local law enforcement officers were hoping that they were the only ones lurking in the dense undergrowth of the preserve, but it seemed that an unknown entity was observing them. Beneath the ethereal mist, his sapphire eyes gleamed with an otherworldly brilliance, captivating all who beheld them. His nose, ever so delicately poised, yearned for a mere whiff of the elusive scent they were relentlessly pursuing.
The enigmatic figure was enveloped in the overpowering aroma of sage. The pungent scent of charred sage filled the air, causing his nostrils to tingle with irritation. With each heavy step he took, the sound of crunching leaves echoed through the stillness of the surroundings. Yearning for a stroke of luck, he longed for a moment where everything would fall into place. However, his hopes were shattered when he stumbled upon his sister's lifeless form that fateful night. The haunting image of her pale, lifeless body etched itself into his memory, tormenting him with its crimson gaze. As if that wasn't enough, an agonizing pain gripped his body, as his bones twisted and contorted, while his once smooth hair transformed into a course, unruly mane.
Clad in nothing but a pair of gym shorts, Scott McCall busied himself with re-threading the laces on his lacrosse stick. The anticipation of the big day ahead had him feeling restless, and despite his best efforts, he couldn't seem to calm his nerves enough to get some shut-eye After deciding that the net on his stick was satisfactory, he carelessly threw it onto his unkempt bed. To distract himself, he began using his push-up bar, pushing himself to his limits until he was interrupted by a sudden noise. In a hurry, he quickly threw on a burgundy hoodie and dashed down the stairs, tightly gripping his untouched baseball bat. As he reached the front porch, the darkness enveloped him, making it nearly impossible to see anything beyond the door. The absence of light heightened his senses, adding an air of mystery and anticipation to his surroundings. As he heard a strange noise, Scott cautiously stepped out of the door frame to investigate. To his surprise, he saw a figure hanging from the roof. His heart racing, he let out a yelp of terror, almost hitting the person in the face. However, as he took a closer look, he realized that it was someone he knew. Stiles Stilinski, his dim-witted companion, let out a piercing yelp that echoed through the air. Stiles Stilinski, his dim-witted companion, let out a piercing yelp that echoed through the air.
“Stiles, what the hell are you doing?!” With a low growl, he rolled his chocolate-brown eyes in frustration before extending a hand to help his companion up from the ground. Stiles was known for having moles all over his face like stars in the sky, and his hair was usually shaved to his scalp or overgrown and messy there was never an in-between. His eyes were similar to his best friend’s, but the honey rings were a big difference. “You weren't answering your phone! ...Why do you have a bat?” Stiles seemed more hyperactive than usual, making Scott realise he would be in for it that night. “I thought you were a predator!” With a loud clank, he set the bat down and observed as Stiles brushed the leaves off his body. “Look, I know it's late, but you gotta hear this. I saw my dad leave twenty minutes ago. Dispatch called. they're bringing in every officer from the Beacon Department, and even state police.” A sly smirk spread across Stiles' face as his friend glanced up at him, clearly taken aback. “Two joggers found a body in the woods.” It was as if his eyes were defying the laws of physics, growing even larger than before. “What, a dead body?” His speech faltered, stumbling over words as he struggled to communicate. “No, a body of water. Yes, dumbass, a dead body!” With a burst of energy, Stiles hopped back and forth, unable to contain his excitement. “You mean, like, murdered?” the buzz-cut teen shook his head “Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl, probably in her twenties.”
“Hold on, if they found the body, then what are they looking for?” There was a brief pause in Stiles' actions.
“That's the best part. they only found half.” A mischievous grin spread across Stiles' face as he tightly grasped Scott's shoulders, letting out a hearty chuckle. “We're going.”
(Y/N) navigated the twisting roads that led her to the weathered sign, which greeted her arrival in Beacon Hills. As she drove, her car shook, and she cranked up the volume of her music to drown out the eerie silence of the surrounding woods. In the absence of silence, she was well aware that her mind would be tormented by the constant buzzing and jolts. The tranquillity of nature's silence was not a viable choice. As she extended her hand to soothe the creature, her black cat emitted a gentle meow. As they ventured further into the preserve, the terrain became increasingly rough. The once smooth roads transformed into a combination of mud and gravel, making the journey much more challenging. Just as she was about to make the turn, the young woman abruptly brought her vehicle to a halt. The blinding lights emanating from the police cars compelled her to stop in an instant. Taking a deep breath, she switched off the engine, instantly catching the attention of the officers. With a timid gesture, she raised her hand in a shy wave as a police officer approached her with cautious steps. “Sorry mam, the roads are closed for emergency purposes.” The sound of his worn-out voice filled the air as he illuminated the surroundings with his torch, hoping to get a closer look at the girl who had an unusually gothic appearance.
The mysterious woman would stand out from the crowd, exuding an air of uniqueness that set her apart from other girls her age. Judging by her appearance, it seemed she was in her early twenties. Clad entirely in black, she adorned herself with intriguing accessories crafted from bones and stones. he hoped they were fake. Dark shadows and thick eyeliner adorned her face, catching the attention of the officer. While he was accustomed to seeing teenagers with alternative styles like goth, grunge, and hippy, this grown woman was different to the grunge moody teens. “Sorry to disturb you, officer. I’m new in town and I think my new house is just down the road.” With a stutter, she gestured towards the opposite side of the obstructed zone. The officer's eyebrow raised in curiosity, and then he directed her attention to the trembling hands clutching the information booklet. (Y/N)'s gaze met the worn-out image of the cottage, a sight she knew all too well, while the officer observed her. With a fit and slender physique, the middle-aged man had short, light brown hair, a lightly tanned complexion, and captivating hazel eyes. (Y/N)'s attention was drawn to the slightly grimy sheriff badge, causing her to gulp nervously.
“Ah, the old cottage. Been a very popular hangout for the kids.” With a chuckle, he returned the pages to the girl, observing her anxious behaviour. He couldn't help but notice the state of her hands, which trembled with every gesture he made. Upon closer inspection, he saw that her nails and skin were gnawed to the point where blood had crusted around the wounds. “I’ll have to escort you down there miss. Unfortunately, there’s been a body found and we are doing searches in the woods surrounding your new home.” With a subtle nod, she expressed her gratitude to him before redirecting her attention towards her vehicle.
The traditional exterior of the cottage chosen by the elderly couple that previously owned it, it became evident as (Y/N) inspected the premises. As she did so, the sheriff followed closely behind, illuminating the surrounding field with his flashlight and circling the delightful structure. The meadow appeared undisturbed, as if time had forgotten it. The grass grew tall, yet it concealed the vibrant blossoms yearning to burst forth. Once the sun graced the sky, a kaleidoscope of colours would paint the landscape in breathtaking beauty. “I think the county had the place cleared out for you he was used as a drug den for a while so please be careful.” While he shared the information, she responded by nodding and carefully placing her suitcase on the porch, causing a slight creaking noise. “I had a company come in a put my stuff in the house for me. I just hope my bed is intact because I’m pooped.” With a playful remark, she managed to bring a smile to his face. “Here pass me your phone.” Fidgeting with her cardigan button, she handed him her unlocked device. As he glanced down, he realized it was an outdated flip phone with a keypad. The only other time he had encountered such a phone was when they were confiscated as evidence in burner phone cases. “If you need anything miss…?”
“(Y/N) Williams sir.” In a seamless motion, he typed his number on the device before promptly passing it back to her. “(Y/N) If you need anything or see anything please don’t hesitate to call. You’re a bit of a way out, don’t want you on your own out here.” She quickly thanked him, registering he had put his name in her phone Sheriff Noah Stilinski. “Thank you, Noah, I hope you have a good night.”
As the teal blue Jeep driven by the two teenagers entered the preserve, the sign warning against entering after dark was instantly illuminated by the powerful headlights of the vehicle. “We're seriously doing this?” With a torch gripped tightly in his hand, Stiles stepped out into the night. The sound of the dying leaves echoed beneath his shoes, creating a haunting melody. Scott trailed behind, struggling to keep pace with Stiles as they ventured deeper into the mysterious woods. In his hand, he clutched his trusty white inhaler, a symbol of his determination to face whatever awaited them. “You're the one always bitching that nothing ever happens in this town.” The teenagers pressed on, their curiosity leading them deeper into the woods, where the distant sounds of dogs added an element of suspense to their adventure. “I was trying to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow.” Stiles' mocking laughter echoed through the trees. “Right, 'cause sitting on the bench is such a gruelling effort.”
“No, because I'm playing this year. I'm making the first line.” With a chuckle, Stiles redirected his attention to his innocent companion. “Hey, that's the spirit! Everyone should have a dream, even a pathetically unrealistic one.” The boys strolled along, enveloped in silence, while the symphony of nature played in the background. The atmosphere grew denser, causing Scott to pause and rely on his inhaler for more breaths, slowing their pace. “Just out of curiosity, which half of the body are we looking for?” Breaking his gaze from the muddy ground, Stiles shrugged indifferently. “Huh! I didn't even think about that.”
“And, uh... what if whoever killed the body is still out here?” The duo paused once more in their journey. “Also, something I didn't think about.” The sound of Scott's exasperated sigh indicated his weariness with the common hurdle also known as Stiles. “It's comforting to know you've planned this out with your usual attention to detail.” Stiles turned with his signature mischievous smirk. “I know.” Scott propped himself against a tree, reaching for his inhaler from his pocket. Stiles urged him on, and Scott followed him up the steep incline. The ground beneath them grew muddier with each step, caking their once-pristine shoes. Taking cover behind a massive, decaying tree limb, the pair quickly grasped the dire situation they found themselves in - right in the path of the relentless search party. The sound of the baying hounds grew louder, urging them to swiftly devise their next course of action. With a shared understanding, they discreetly extinguished their torch, determined not to draw any unnecessary attention to their presence. “Wait!” Scott's voice barely escaped his lips as he whispered. Little did he know, Stiles' impatience would soon triumph. Succumbing to the urge, he whispered back to Stiles and leapt out towards the group. “Stiles! Wait up!”
The sudden sound of a dog's jaw snapping shut took Stiles by surprise, sending him tumbling to the ground. “Hold it right there!” The noise of the barking grew increasingly louder, causing Stiles to squint as the bright torchlight momentarily blinded him. Meanwhile, Scott quickly sought refuge behind a nearby tree, his breath creating a mist in the chilly air as he covered his mouth. “Hang on hang on!” As the angry voice of Stiles' father echoed in the background, Scott let out a deep breath into his inhaler. “This little delinquent belongs to me.” With a frustrated sigh, the officer pressed on, determined to scour every inch of the dense forest. “Dad. What are you doing?” With a sigh, Noah lifted his child from the grimy earth, his hoodie now adorned with a layer of filth, twigs, and foliage. “So, do you, uh, listen in to all of my phone calls?” The young boy couldn't help but laugh, his hand nervously finding its way to the back of his head, scratching away his unease. “No er… not the boring ones.”
“where’s your usual partner in crime?” Stiles attempted to appear as bewildered as he could, shrugging his shoulders once more. Nevertheless, his father remained unconvinced and refused to believe any of it. “Who, Scott? Scott's home. He said he wanted to get a good night's sleep for the first day back at school tomorrow. It's just me... In the woods... Alone...” Raising his torch, he cast its light across the area, hoping to catch a glimpse of Scott, who remained hidden behind the unchanging tree. “Scott, you out there? Scott?” After a brief moment, Scott remained completely still, not making a single movement. The exhausted sheriff hesitantly concluded that Scott was not accompanying Stiles. Letting out a sigh, he firmly grasped the back of Stiles' neck and guided him towards the entrance of the dense preserve. “Well, young man, I'm gonna walk you back to your car... And then you and I are gonna have a conversation about something called "invasion of privacy." He growled, Stiles sweating profusely.
Scott exhaled deeply; his lungs relieved after being held captive for so long. The barking of the dogs ceased and the light from the officers' torches faded into the mist. The young boy sprinted down the hill, feeling a strange vibration under his feet. The eerie silence of the forest overwhelmed him, sending shivers down his spine. The darkness was suffocating, and the thought of a potential killer lurking nearby made him uneasy. He reached for his inhaler, hoping it would calm his nerves, but before he could take a puff, a group of deer came charging towards him in a frenzy. With every step, the terrifying creatures trampled over him, forcing his body to the chaotic ground. The rustling of the dead leaves beneath him grew louder and more violent, causing his inhaler to be flung several meters away into the abyss of darkness.
After the deer had finally dispersed, Scott, still in a state of disbelief, managed to stand up. His immediate priority was to use the flashlight on his phone to search for his lost breath on the forest floor. Unfortunately, his efforts yielded no results. As Scott cautiously scanned the ground, he startled himself when he caught sight of the upper half of the body that Stiles had warned him about. The upper portion stood severed, a gruesome sight. Flies had already taken residence, hastening the decay of the lifeless form. Her once vibrant eyes, now dull and lifeless, mirrored the presence of death. The chilling sight of blood stained her motionless, unclothed figure.” AHHHHH!” The sight of a young woman, her face as white as a ghost and her hair tangled with mud, left him completely speechless. He hadn't anticipated the intensity of this situation, and it took him by surprise. In a daze, Scott stumbled backwards, falling further into the preserve, desperate to distance himself from the horrifying crime scene he had just witnessed.
Scott rose unsteadily, letting out a pained groan as he leveraged himself up with the aid of a fallen tree trunk. His skin was likely riddled with scratches from the surrounding twigs, and his clothes were undoubtedly ruined. A noxious blend of dirt, mud, and animal waste clung to him, creating a foul layer of stench. He hurried through the woods, desperate to escape the area as quickly as possible. The noise of something unfamiliar was not concealed by his trousers. Suddenly, a menacing growl echoed from behind, causing him to halt in terror. He gradually pivoted, only to be confronted by a monstrous creature. It was some sort of wild animal, but he didn't have the luxury of pondering its identity before sprinting away. With a sudden burst of energy, the monstrous creature pounced on him, causing him to stumble and fall to the ground once more. Despite his attempts to crawl away, the beast had different plans in mind. It seized his battered ankles and dragged him back like a lifeless puppet. The piercing red eyes bore into him before sinking its teeth into his side, causing the young man's screams to echo through the forest.
Frantically, Scott raced through the dense forest, stumbling and falling as he desperately attempted to escape from the unknown assailant. Eventually, he managed to reach the closest road, relieved to find that the creature had not pursued him any further. Just as he thought he was safe, a car came speeding towards him, honking loudly. Miraculously, the driver skilfully manoeuvred away from Scott, narrowly avoiding a collision. Scott breathed a sigh of relief as he found a safe spot to rest. He gingerly lifted the tattered fabric of his hoodie to inspect the deep bite wound on his hip. The rain was relentless, mixing with his blood and creating a gruesome scene. Just then, a haunting howl echoed through the woods, sending shivers down Scott's spine. It seemed like tonight was not going to be his night after all.
The eerie cry of the creature echoed through the forest and across the meadow, causing the new girl to pause her gentle strokes on her cat. With a sense of unease, she fixed her gaze upon the dense woods that enveloped her unfamiliar abode. With a quick stride, she approached the meadow, her ears perked up for any sign of a howl. Alas, there was none. She let out a sigh and made her way back to her abode, securing the door behind her. Retrieving her notepad, she jotted down a new seed to add to her collection for the upcoming meadow. (Y/N) took a moment to admire the vibrant purple flower, knowing it was an added layer of protection. She was willing to go the extra mile if it meant staying safe. As she stood in the kitchen, she cautiously opened the window, calling out to her beloved feline friend, hoping to avoid attracting the attention of the creature that had been howling nearby.
As the enigmatic man with piercing blue eyes made his way towards the well-known meadow, memories of his past flooded his mind. The grass, still covered in morning dew, had flourished over time, and the cottage remained steadfast in its place. However, an unexpected sight greeted him this time - the lights of the deserted house were mysteriously switched on. Curiosity piqued, he inhaled deeply, recognizing the familiar scent of sage in the air. Yet, there was an unfamiliar undertone, a new herb perhaps, that he couldn't quite place. Nevertheless, the essence of sage remained potent, drawing him closer to the enigma that awaited him. His attention was caught by a soft feminine voice, causing him to focus his gaze. He then proceeded to crouch down amidst the lush greenery, observing as the kitchen window slowly opened. “Bones! Here boy!” A shrill voice echoed through the air, catching his attention. Judging by its pitch, he guessed it could be a woman calling out to her pet. As he observed, a sleek black cat gracefully hopped onto the windowsill and disappeared inside the building. Despite his curiosity, the man decided it might be better not to pry too much into the new owner's identity.

As Scott pedalled his bike through the school car park, he couldn't help but notice the swarm of teenagers scattered across the paths and roads, clearly reluctant to enter the building. Skilfully, he dismounted just as he reached the bike rack, effortlessly sliding his front wheel into place and securing it. With a quick adjustment of his backpack, he hung his helmet on the handle and tightly fastened a lacrosse stick to the back, ready for the day ahead. As the silver Porsche glided into the parking spot beside him, Scott's detached expression quickly soured. Jackson, his captain, emerged from the car with a self-satisfied smirk, carelessly slamming the door into Scott's back and shooting him a venomous glare. “Dude! Watch the paint job.” A grumble escaped his lips as he made his way into the school, his frustration evident in his determined stride.
Jackson possessed undeniable good looks, characterized by his medium height, sharp-cut dark blond hair, and piercing blue eyes. His choice of attire always highlighted the finest money could buy, effortlessly conveying his arrogant and sarcastic nature without the need for words. Scott, feeling insulted, refrained from retaliating as he observed Jackson. Meanwhile, Scott spotted Stiles at the school steps and approached him eagerly, ready to share an intriguing tale. The boy with the buzz-cut hairstyle pulled his friend closer, pleading to see the alleged bite mark he had mentioned. “Okay, let's see this thing.” With a chuckle, he uttered, "Check this out!" Scott raised his shirt, revealing the bandaged bite wound to Stiles. The gauze and tape barely contained the seeping blood, most likely a result of his speedy bike ride. “Ooh!” Stiles' hands darted forward, eager to explore and prod, catching Scott off guard before he could even adjust his shirt. “It was too dark to see much, but I'm pretty sure it was a wolf,” Scott's words hung in the air as Stiles let out a dismissive snort. He swiftly retrieved his bag and made his way towards the exit, paying no mind to Scott's comment. “A wolf bit you? No, not a chance.” Scott rolled his brown eyes. “I heard a wolf howling.”
“No, you didn't.”
“What do you mean, "No, I didn't?" How do you know what I heard?”
“Because California doesn't have wolves, okay? Not in, like, sixty years.” Scott finally stopped arguing as Stiles made a valid point. But what did he see? “Really?” he mumbled. “Yes. There are no wolves in California.” As he scratched the back of his neck, he couldn't figure out what had bitten him. Could it have been a mountain lion? He pushed the thought aside, eager to share the more exciting parts of his story with his friend. “All right. Well, if you don't believe me about the wolf, then you're not gonna believe me when I tell you I found the body.”
Filled with exhilaration, Stiles leapt up as if his energy were fully charged, vigorously shaking Scott's shoulders. “You… are you kidding me?” With a hushed tone, he scanned the area to keep an eye on everyone nearby. “No, man, I wish. I'm gonna have nightmares for a month.”
“Oh, God, that is freaking awesome. I mean, this is seriously gonna be the best thing that's happened to this town since-” Before he could finish his sentence, something seemed to catch his eyes. “--Since the birth of Lydia Martin. Hey, Lydia! You look—” The girl persisted, step by step, as she made her way towards the school, “--Like you're gonna ignore me.” Stiles perceived Lydia as an incredibly attractive young woman with a petite figure, a fair complexion, enchanting green eyes, and beautiful strawberry-blonde hair. He greatly admired her flawless skin and vibrant hair, which reminded him of the sun. Additionally, she possessed a fashion sense akin to Jackson and embodied the essence of a popular and influential figure. “You're the cause of this, you know.” Confusion washed over Scott's face as he and Stiles joined the rest of the students, entering the school together. “Dragging' me down to your nerd depths. I'm a nerd by association. I've been Scarlet-nerded by you.”
With a deep exhale, (Y/N) jolted upright in bed. She wearily rubbed her eyes, attempting to dispel the foggy feeling in her head. It was yet another night of tossing and turning for the exhausted young woman. She had grown accustomed to it but knew that she couldn't keep going like this forever. merging from the chilly embrace of her bed, (Y/N) made her way downstairs, glancing at her watch to check the time. The arrival of the delivery van, carrying her new furniture, was imminent. However, the daunting task of purchasing all the essentials weighed heavily on her mind. She had grown accustomed to relying on her group for everything, from furniture to pencils. Now, she found herself navigating this unfamiliar territory alone.
As the sound of a horn echoed through the air, she stepped outside, lighting a cigarette and inhaling deeply, feeling a sense of relaxation wash over her. With a wave, she beckoned the workmen to approach, watching as they stepped out of the van. “Morning boys.” As they kicked off the project, a beam of delight adorned her face. “I would offer you some coffee, but I haven’t got anything, sorry.” A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she pondered why socializing seemed like such a daunting task. The men seemed to pay no attention to her remark, instead focusing on the task of moving her belongings into the house. She couldn't help but notice their lingering gazes, taking in her exposed legs and arms adorned with dark tattoos. The weight of their judgment was palpable, making her feel self-conscious in their presence.
“Jesus this chick must have issues.” As she listened, one of them muttered from within her house. (Y/N) observed him examining the pictures she had already hung on the wall. It didn't seem like a big deal to her - just some sketches of toxic plants and a few photos from her previous residence. However, considering her old home was situated in the heart of a graveyard, she began to reconsider. Perhaps it wasn't as ordinary as she initially believed. That's probably why, she speculated... “What the fuck are in these jars?” Moving onwards, the two men explored the area, their curiosity driving them to pick up and shake the jars of bones with a mixture of repulsion and fascination. “I hope they’re from chicken wings.” With a scornful look directed at her, he chuckled and exited her living room. “Freak.” Hopefully, they’d be gone soon.
Just as she was about to stumble through an explanation, her phone erupted into a lively ringtone. Swiftly flipping open the screen, a warm smile spread across her face as she recognized the name flashing before her. “Good morning, Dr Deaton.” She spoke with excitement. “Good morning (Y/N) I hope you’re settling okay.” Curiosity sparked within him as he inquired. Meanwhile, she found solace on the porch bench, gazing out towards the serene meadow, while the men continued their barrage of insults. Determined to distance herself from their negativity, she redirected her attention to the phone, channelling her energy elsewhere. “Besides the delivery guys, it’s been okay.”
“Well, that’s good. I’ve got a big list of patients to sort out today but if you want to come by after close, I’ll get you settled in and you can meet Scott. He’s the younger boy I was telling you about.
“That sounds perfect Deaton. I’ll see you after close.”
As Scott and Stiles walked into their first-period class, they settled into their seats. The teacher began the lesson immediately, causing the boys to feel restless and uninterested in no time. “As you all know, there indeed was a body found in the woods last night.” With a mischievous smile, Scott spun around to face Stiles and playfully winked at him. “And I am sure your eager little minds are coming up with various macabre scenarios as to what happened. But I am here to tell you that the police have a suspect in custody, which means you can give your undivided attention to the syllabus, which is on your desk outlining this semester.” As if practised the entire class groaned.
Scott and Stiles exchanged a bored glance once more when, out of nowhere, Scott's ears were assaulted by a shrill phone ring. Surprisingly, no one in the room seemed to react to the noise, leaving Scott perplexed and furrowing his brow. Eventually, his attention was drawn to a row of windows on his left by the sound of a woman's voice. Outside, on a public bench, a young girl sat engrossed in her phone conversation. Her voice was melodic, perfectly synchronized with her moving lips as she just picked up the call. “Mom, three calls on my first day is a little overdoing it.” She mumbled rummaging deep into her bag. “Everything except a pen. Oh, my God, I didn't forget a pen. Okay, okay. I gotta go. Love ya.” Scott’s eyes followed the girl as she walked with the vice principal into the school “Sorry to keep you waiting. So, you were saying San Francisco isn't where you grew up?” he said through the walls. Scott’s mind was muss with this discovery.” No, but we lived there for more than a year, which is unusual in my family.” The door to the classroom nudged. “Well, hopefully, Beacon Hills will be your last stop for a while.”
As the wooden door creaked open, Scott's heart skipped a beat. Standing before him were the principal and a young woman who appeared to be a phone call girl. The woman was tall and slender, with a complexion as smooth as porcelain and delicate freckles resembling snowflakes. Her curly dark hair resembled the colour of chocolate, and her eyes were a perfect match. “Class, this is our new student, Allison Argent. Please do your best to make her feel welcome.” As Allison entered the classroom, she noticed Scott sitting in front of her. She brushed a stray hair from her face and sat down behind him. Scott turned around and smiled at her, offering one of his pencils. Allison whispered a quick thank you, her mind racing with questions. How did he know she needed a pencil?
As the stranger made his way through the dense vegetation, his muddy trainers made a distinct crunching sound. He caught a whiff of a particular plant, but his usually sharp sense of smell was hindered by a familiar scent - burnt sage. The aroma grew stronger and stronger as he approached the overgrown meadow. Suddenly, he halted in his tracks, observing a dark cloud forming above the canopy, signalling the presence of a new owner for the abandoned cottage. It was the last thing he wanted. He dreaded the thought of another person invading his world. He silently prayed that his new neighbour wasn't the type to make small talk. The mere idea of someone knocking on his door made him shudder. He observed as the sheriff's car pulled up beside the peach-coloured vehicle that he assumed belonged to his neighbour. He quickly retreated into the woods, relieved that the unpleasant odour was fading away as he walked.
Noah gently tapped on the worn-out door of the cosy cottage. Inhaling deeply, he was greeted by an enchanting aroma that filled the air. As the door swung open, he was not only met by the familiar face of the girl he had encountered the previous night but also that captivating scent. “Something smells amazing.” The sight of his smile was so infectious that it brought a smile to her lips too. “Come on it sheriff. Just in time too.” Upon entering the cottage, Noah surveyed the newly furnished room, noticing a few boxes still left unpacked. His eyes were drawn to the various pictures of plants and animals adorning the walls, causing him to let out a sigh. “you’ve moved to the right place if you like nature.” Y/N was filled with panic as she watched him eye the mushroom and nightshade, just like the delivery men did. She breathed a sigh of relief when he didn't find the jars. “Oh yeah. I studied plants and animal care in school.” the comment seemed to satisfy Noah. “So, what brings you over?” As she opened the oven, she inquired about the muffins and pulled out the baking tray. Noah's eyes widened at the sight of the delicious treats, making his mouth water in anticipation. “Well other than those muffins…” With a gentle laugh, she carefully set them on the windowsill, allowing the cool breeze to refresh them. “I wanted to ask you a few questions about last night.” With a casual nod, she gestured for him to take a seat on the bar stool she had just acquired for her breakfast table. Positioned by the windowsill, the two chairs allowed Noah to enjoy his muffin as it cooled to perfection. “Raspberry and dark chocolate by the way.” She mentioned watching him burn the top of his mouth impatiently.
“Okay, so you said you had just got here last night. So, I’m guessing you don’t know any more from around here?” she nodded her head calmly. “a friend of mine is acquaintances with Dr Alan Deaton, the vet. He gave me a job there. But other than Alan I don’t know anyone else. I haven’t even had the chance to go into town yet.” As she spoke, she observed him jotting down every word she uttered in his tiny notebook. “Did you see or hear anything either on the ride here or when I dropped you off?” With a quick nod of her head, she diverted his attention away from the muffin and onto herself. “About an hour or two after you left, I was sitting on the porch, and I sounded like a howl came from the woods. it might have been one of your search dogs, but I don’t know if it sounded…bigger.” She was cautious not to reveal too much, fearing that her suspicions might be correct. Above all, she wanted to protect Noah from any potential trouble he could get into. “I know there are no wolves in the state but maybe a mountain lion?” With a nod, he closed his notepad and eagerly devoured the remaining crumbs of his muffin.
“Well, since you don’t know anyone yet, I know one of the boys that you’ll be working with at the vet. Scott?” he spoke with a mouth full of sweets. “Deaton mentioned him,” she confirmed. Noah swallowed his muffin writing down an array of numbers on the pad. “This is Scott’s mum’s number. Her name is Melissa, I'll drop her a text to call you. Shell be able to show you around and get to know some people instead of staying up here all day.” With a smile, (Y/N) expressed gratitude towards him for folding the paper into her pocket. She couldn't help but wish to know someone who wasn't a police officer, even just one person.
The lacrosse field, freshly painted, was buzzing with the team's energy as eager students practised, hoping for a spot on the starting lineup. Scott and Stiles wasted no time, sprinting towards the field with their equipment bouncing against their backs. “But if you play, I'll have no one to talk to on the bench. Are you gonna do that to your best friend?” Stiles playfully teased Scott, fully aware that he had not shot at making it onto the first line. “I can't sit out again. My whole life is sitting on the side-lines.” With a forceful thud, Scott hurled his bag onto the glass. “This season, I make the first line.” As he observed Alisson engaged in conversation with Lydia, he inhaled deeply and adjusted his stance. The captivating smile on Alisson's face had a captivating impact on him, but his train of thought was abruptly interrupted by the coach. “McCall! You're on goal.” The coach surprised him by thrusting unfamiliar equipment into his unprepared hands, leaving him bewildered. “I’ve never played...” he mumbled. “I know. Scoring some shots will give the boys a confidence boost. It's a first day-back thing. Get 'em energized! Fired up! It was very clear the coach had no belief in the teenager. “...What about me?” The coach gave a reassuring pat on his shoulder and urged him towards the goalpost, his shoulder pads providing extra protection. “Try not to take any in the face.” He joked.
“Let's go! Come on.” Lydia's attention was drawn to a new boy standing nearby, prompting Allison to inquire about his identity. “Who is that?”  With a tilt of her head, her strawberry blonde locks fell in a cascade of confusion around her face. “Him? I'm not sure who he is. Why?” It's puzzling that she hasn't recognized him yet, considering they've been going to school together since the very beginning. “He's in my English class.” Scott's attention wavered, causing him to miss the whistle's blow and sending his focus into disarray. As a result, he stumbled and fell to the ground, leaving his teammates with an open opportunity to score effortlessly. Jackson seized the chance and struck Scott's helmet, intensifying the ringing in his ears. The field erupted with laughter, accompanied by a single "ouch" from Stiles. “Hey, way to catch with your face, McCall!” he smirked.
Filled with determination, Scott rose to his feet and loosened his shoulders, readying himself for the upcoming shot. As he exhaled, his breath transformed into misty puffs, resembling smoke in the cold air. The ball was thrown towards him by the next player, and with lightning-fast reflexes, Scott effortlessly caught it with his stick. The sight left everyone, including Scott himself, in awe. “Yeah!!!” The sound of Stiles' shout echoed through the air, drawing everyone's attention. As the second, third, and fourth balls effortlessly landed in Scott's net, Jackson's nonchalant demeanour quickly transformed. Coach Finstock stood there, mouth agape as if he couldn't fathom what he had just witnessed.” He seems like he's pretty good.” Allison said. “Yeah, very good,” Lydia glanced over at her boyfriend, her words barely audible as she spoke under her breath.
As Jackson stepped forward, Scott's body tightened with anticipation, bracing himself for the impending chaos that lay ahead. “Oh, God...” With lightning speed, Jackson sprinted towards the goal and launched the ball with all his might. However, to Scott's amazement, the ball appeared to be moving in slow motion, giving him ample time to catch it effortlessly. Stiles and Lydia jumped up in excitement, causing Jackson to grit his teeth in frustration. “THAT'S MY FRIEND!” Stiles cheered.
“I-I don't know what it was. It was like I had all the time in the world to catch the ball. And that's not the only weird thing. I-I can hear stuff I shouldn't be able to hear. Smell things.” In their quest to locate the body Scott had spotted the night before, Scott and Stiles leapt over the creek in the nature reserve. Both boys dreaded stumbling upon it, fearing it would further traumatize them. Scott's primary concern, however, was his misplaced inhaler, desperately hoping he wouldn't have to confess to his mom that he had lost it. “Smell things? Like what?” Stiles rolled his eyes, completely unconvinced by anything he had just heard. Scott exhaled deeply, turning to face Stiles with a mischievous grin on his face. “Like the mint mojito gum in your pocket.”
”I don't even have any mint mojito—" The boy with a buzz cut searched through his cluttered pocket, carefully avoiding pens that might leak and crumpled pieces of paper, in order to locate the piece of gum he was looking for.” I told you so." Stiles wolfed down the piece not caring about the age. “So, all this started with the bite?” Scott abruptly halted him, interrupting his movement. The meadow held a sense of familiarity for the boys, as they would often come across the entrance of the abandoned cottage during their pre-teen years. They felt a sense of rebellion as they ventured into the notorious drug den. The gravel driveway was obstructed by two vehicles - Stiles' father's police car and a vintage 1952 Chevrolet with peeling peach paint. In the distance, they spotted Stiles' dad, chuckling while holding a container of what appeared to be muffins, their curiosity piqued by the person who brought joy to the sheriff. The two boys were mesmerized by the arrival of the new girl in town. She was a captivating sight, with her unique tattoos, edgy black attire, and eccentric hairstyle that perfectly matched her dark makeup and voluminous lashes. Scott and Stiles couldn't help but stare as Noah bid farewell to the goth beauty and drove away in his car, leaving them in awe.
As Noah made his way down the lane, two teenagers emerged from the bushes and eagerly flagged down a passing girl with beaming grins on their faces. “Excuse me!” The woman and her cat were taken aback by the unexpected sound made by Stiles. “Can I help you?” She shouted taking a step back as the strangers got closer. “Sorry, we didn’t mean to scare you.” Scott panted. “I’m Stiles I’m the sheriff’s son.” With a sense of relief washing over her, the girl greeted the world with a friendly wave. “I’m (Y/N) if you’re looking for your dad, he just left sorry.” Stiles shook his head finally catching his breath before continuing. “We came to find something. We were in the woods last night and my friend here lost his inhaler.” Scott waved with a faint hello continuing Stiles’ sentence. “Is it okay if we search the meadow, we promise to not touch anything, but I can’t afford another inhaler.” With a pleading tone, he begged for her forgiveness. The girl, however, appeared annoyed as she gazed towards her field, shielding her eyes from the bright sun. To the boys watching, her eyes sparkled like two precious gems. “Yeah, go for it guys. Be careful though I’ve just planted some bushes along the perimeter so don’t stomp on them please.” Curiosity sparked in her eyes as she inquired. The two boys eagerly pledged to vigorously nod their heads. With a mischievous smile, she proudly presented a basket filled with what appeared to be delicious muffins to the boys, enticing their taste buds. “For your journey weary travellers.” With a playful smile, she observed as the boys playfully snatched a muffin each, expressing their gratitude before confidently striding into the tall grass.
“Dude! She’s hot.” With a mouthful of muffins, Stiles let out an exclamation as they made their way back into the woods. They effortlessly leapt over the recently planted half-grown bushes, immersing themselves in the wilderness once again. “Dude focus! What if it's like an infection? Like, my body's flooding with adrenaline before I go into shock or something?” Scott panted. “You know what? I think I've heard of this. it's a specific kind of infection.” Stiles forced himself not to laugh as his friend turned around with a worried look on his face. “Are you serious?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I think it's called lycanthropy.”
“What's that? Is that bad?”
“Oh, yes, it's the worst. But only once a month.”
Scott’s eyebrows arched. “Once a month?”
“Mm-hmm. On the night of the full moon.” Stiles paused. “Aroooo!” With a dismissive gesture, Scott pushed his friend towards the leaf-covered ground, his eyes rolling in annoyance. “Hey, you're the one who heard a wolf howling!”
“Hey, there could be something seriously wrong with me!”
“I know! You're a Werewolf! Rawrrr!” With a mischievous grin, Stiles mimicked the movements of a wild animal, swiping his hands towards Scott's face like sharp claws. “Okay, obviously I'm kidding. But, if you see me in shop class trying to melt all the silver I can find, it's 'cause I’m preparing myself” Scott's finger froze mid-air, no longer indicating the same spot on the ground. The once-hidden mud now lay bare, with the leaves beneath it shattered and displaced. “No, I-I could have sworn this was it. I saw the body; the deer came running. I dropped my inhaler...” Stiles cast his gaze downwards, then scanned the surroundings with a perplexed expression. “Maybe the killer moved the body?” he mumbled. “If he did, I hope he left my inhaler. Those things are, like, eighty dollars.” Scott let out a deep sigh and kept his gaze fixed on the ground until Stiles gave him a sharp tap on the shoulder. “What are you doing here?”
His attention was captured by the unfamiliar voice. “Huh? This is private property.” Filled with rage, the stranger's brows furrowed, and his eyes gleamed like sharp blades as he approached the two teens who remained silent, ignoring his question. “Uh, sorry, man, we didn't know.” Stiles stuttered. “Yeah, we were just looking for something, but...” the mysterious man arched his brows impatiently. “...Uh, forget it.”
Out of nowhere, the man unexpectedly tossed Scott's inhaler, leaving both boys perplexed as to how he obtained it. Without uttering a word, he swiftly turned around and retraced his steps. Casting one final glance at Scott, he appeared to completely disregard Stiles. “Um... All right, come on, I gotta get to work.” Just as Scott was about to take another step, Stiles intervened by extending his hand, effectively putting a halt to his progress. “Dude, that was Derek Hale!” he whispered hoping to not gain Scott’s attention again. “You remember, right? He's only like a few years older than us. His family. They all burned to death in a fire, like, ten years ago.” Scott's eyes grew wide with surprise as he absorbed the shocking news. “I wonder what he's doing back...” Stiles shrugged his shoulders.
Derek released a sigh of frustration while attempting to restrain a loud snarl. The aroma of charred sage permeated his nostrils, prompting him to question the reason behind his strong aversion to it.

As the night grew darker, Derek flicked on his headlights, scanning through the pouring rain, praying for a storm-free night. The rain intensified, but his wipers were working tirelessly. Just as he was about to turn onto the lane, a peach-coloured car caught his eye, seemingly parked on the roadside. It was the vintage car of his new neighbour. The urge to stop suddenly overcame him, and he couldn't explain why. Nevertheless, he pulled over onto the raised section of the roadside and put on his jacket before stepping out of his car. As he did, the pungent scent of burning sage filled his nostrils. He heard someone cursing nearby and realized that the car parked next to him was a vintage 1952 Chevrolet Style line Deluxe. “Need some help?” With a rough shout, he noticed a figure dressed entirely in black holding a phone up to the sky. The figure eventually turned around, causing him to abruptly stop in his tracks.
Derek was completely captivated by this woman, seeing her as nothing short of a divine being. In comparison to him, she appeared petite, possibly in her early twenties. Her legs, which were on full display, were adorned with intricate tattoos and covered in spider web tights, giving her an edgy allure. Despite the rain, he could still make out her carefully styled hair, which was damp and clung to her neck, with a purple bandana serving as a makeshift headband. She wore a slim fur-trimmed jacket that enveloped her arms, concealing her voluptuous curves. A chunky dog collar choker adorned her neck, adding an unexpected twist. However, it was her captivating eyes that stole the show. Enhanced with dramatic purple eyeshadow and long, fluttering false lashes, her (E/C) eyes shimmered like hidden gems in a mysterious cavern.
As he gazed into her eyes, he could feel his heart pounding in his chest, as if it was dancing in perfect rhythm with hers. The dryness in his throat was akin to the last drop of water in a vast desert. His once sharp and alert pupils were now dilated, resembling the euphoria of consuming the most potent drug imaginable. Despite having some prior knowledge about what was happening to him, he had only been given limited information about what to anticipate. Little did he know that someone could have such a profound impact on him, but it happened, nonetheless. And he couldn't resist falling head over heels for it.
As (Y/N) glanced at the driver beside her, she nearly lost her balance. He towered over her, his tight grey shirt revealing his muscular build. His jet-black hair was styled upwards, and his blue-green eyes sparkled with a hint of gold. He was undeniably handsome. His scruffy appearance was accentuated by his olive complexion and a messy mane of dark hair. He opted for a laid-back style, donning boot-cut jeans and a sleek black leather jacket. Although he gave off a rebellious vibe, she reminded herself not to pass judgment on him.
Suddenly, the duo shook themselves out of their daze and brushed their hair aside to get a clearer view of one another. “Hi yes my car broke down and I’m gonna be late for work.” With a huff, she glanced at her phone and immediately felt a surge of panic. However, her worries were quickly eased when she saw him smiling back at her. It had been ages since he had last smiled, but he knew that she needed to see that smile in that moment. “You mind if I take a look? I’m not a mechanic but I’m the best you’re gonna get around here.” Stepping back, he ensured that she felt secure in his presence before gesturing towards the car's bonnet. “You are a lifesaver thank you so much.” She smiled grabbing her torch from her boot. “I seem to have everything you would need except the knowledge of cars.” She joked. With caution, Derek took off his jacket and placed it in the back seat, hoping to avoid any potential stains that might be difficult to remove. Meanwhile, he examined the contents of the boot, specifically a large tool bag that he had no prior knowledge of. “My friend bought me it but forgot to tell me how to use any of it before I moved out.” A chuckle escaped her lips, a mix of amusement and lingering stress from the situation. Meanwhile, (Y/N) stood by, holding the flashlight, as he opened the car's bonnet and peered inside. “I’m (Y/N) by the way.” As the raindrops gathered on her plump cupid's bow, she softly murmured while delicately wiping her lips. In response, he flashed a charming smile and playfully winked at her. “Derek. Now I would usually charge for this kind of service. but for a beautiful damsel like you, I’m sure I can risk a free MOT.” When was he a flirter? What was going on with him? Within mere moments, this girl had the power to make him feel a whirlwind of emotions. “Good news is it’s not that bad. Your battery just needs a little boost. You got any jump cables?” she nodded happily before grabbing the tool bag and handing it over to him. “Seriously though, thank you so much for this. It’s nice to know this town isn’t just full of murderers and police.”
With precision, he connected the cables to her battery and cautiously manoeuvred the cable towards his vehicle, ensuring he didn't stumble along the way. “I’m, guessing you moved here when the body was found.” With a hint of concern in his emerald eyes, he glanced up at the woman and inquired, attempting to conceal his prior knowledge. “Yeah, I live down the meadow. First night here and the police had blocked the whole road off from my home. Got a private escort and everything.” With a flick of his wrist, Derek fastened the cables to his car, conjuring his special touch to revive the lifeless vehicle. “Well, I guess that makes us neighbours.” She grinned as she observed him lowering the hood and picking up the wires. While dragging them across the pavement, the cord came perilously close to her legs, posing a tripping hazard. In an instant, Derek dropped the cables and caught her, encircling her waist with his strong arm. The electric shock that surged up his arm was matched by the shudder that ran down her back as he drew her nearby. “You, okay?” he asked. Enchanted by his rugged voice, she found herself captivated. As she leaned in closer, the scent of his cologne filled her senses, causing her to let out a soft sigh. However, she quickly snapped out of her trance, abruptly distancing herself from him, and in an instant, the warmth they both shared dissipated. They couldn't help but yearn for it once more. “Yeah, I’m okay thanks.”
With utmost caution, he proceeded to neatly coil the cable, ensuring every twist was secure and her feet were kept firmly on the ground. “My old home is in the woods next to you. I don’t live there but I’m there pretty much all the time. Be careful in the woods there’s a lot of wildlife you don’t want to mess with.” Closing her bonnet, he leaned towards the girl, savouring every moment as he absorbed her entire being. “Do you mean about the wolves in the woods?” She joked. The smile dropped from his lips. “Wolf?” he asked. “didn’t you hear it last night? The howling. It was beautiful. You know wolves only howl when they’re alone and need to find their pack.” A sigh escaped her lips. Beautiful? The notion of calling monsters beautiful was completely foreign to him. “I am guessing you’re a lover of nature.” He asked making her nod. “Just a bit.” Using a pinching motion, she playfully squeezed her glossy, black nails, resulting in a low chuckle from him. “Well, Miss Nature, I would like to claim my prize for fixing your car.” With a perplexed expression, she tilted her head, puzzled by his actions, as he sneakily took her unlocked phone. To his surprise, it was an archaic device, possibly one of the earliest models of mobile phones ever created. “In case you go wandering too far in the woods. Here’s my number. And for my prize, I hope will be me taking you out to coffee sometime.” A playful smile danced on her lips as she coyly showcased her tongue piercing, leaving him both curious and enchanted by her teasing allure. “You can cash that in whenever you want…?” she looked down at her phone spotting the new contact in her phone. “Mr Hale.” She finished. He nodded his head with a low laugh. “Sounds perfect.”
Derek strolled back to his car, casting one last glance at the girl who would undoubtedly occupy his dreams tonight. Reluctantly, he started driving away, savouring every moment spent by her side. Meanwhile, (Y/N) let out a deep sigh as she settled into the driver's seat, feeling a sense of bewilderment. With a contented smile, she began to drive, relishing the reassuring hum of her engine. However, as she glanced over her shoulder to check her blind spots, she noticed Derek's leather jacket resting on the backseat.
Closing time at the animal clinic arrived, and Scott made his way to the front entrance. With a flick of his hand, he turned the red sign to indicate that they were closed for the night. It had been a quiet evening, just the way he preferred it. Heading towards the staff area, he placed a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and a stack of bandages on the shelf, ready for the next day. As he lifted his shirt to replace the bandage, it appeared as though the agony he had suffered had disappeared. Uncertainty filled his mind - should he be concerned or relieved? Was the absence of pain a positive sign when it came to animal bites? Slowly, he removed the layers of tape and blood-soaked gauze, only to find flawless, unblemished skin. There was no trace of a mark anywhere.
Disregarding it as pure chance, he went back to his work, pulling along a hefty bag brimming with nourishment for felines. “Hey, kitties.” He grunted. Suddenly, the cats got extremely stirred up and started growling. The room erupted into various levels of whines, screams and hisses. Scott looked up at the cages watching them all try and claw their way out on the metal bars. He pushed himself back up locking the door behind him just in case.
As the evening settled in, the vet clinic grew quiet, bringing a sense of contentment to (Y/N) as she lugged boxes filled with her work tools. Deaton swiftly swung open the door, granting her entry with a welcoming gesture. “Not the best of nights is it, Alan.” She joked making him smile at her positive attitude. “Would be better if it was a thunderstorm at least we get a show.” As (Y/N) entered the main treatment area, she couldn't help but notice the familiar sight of the examination tables. After placing her boxes down, her hands instinctively went to her loose skin, focusing on the remaining flesh that hung on. Just then, Deaton joined her and directed her attention to a door in the far corner of the room. “This will be your office it will be locked at all times, and you will have the only key.” She thanked him lightly trying her best to ignore the zaps playing with her brain. “Well speak more in my office.” He noticed her nervous actions; her eyes never left the examination tables. “If it helps, we have table covers you can use. Just so you can’t touch the metal.” She nodded her head following him inside his office.
The two adults sat beside his desk the soft light from the lamp illuminating their faces. Deaton was a tall, lean man with dark skin and eyes his head was recently shaved head with a slight stumble framing his mouth as he smiled towards the young woman. “Miss High-Loch pretty much explained everything I needed to know about your situation.” A heavy sigh escaped him as he attempted to erase from his mind the countless struggles this young woman had endured in her mere two decades of existence. “I don’t expect protection I’m sure my people have explained this. All I want is a place to live. If my parents or anyone comes looking for me all I expect is a message or call and will be out of your hair” The vet's heart was warmed by her anxious rambling, but he was filled with immense anger at the thought of a parent treating their child in such a way. “I can offer you a place to work here. If you ever need help, call me. I am retired but for certain people, I will gladly help. Especially when they are innocent.” With a gentle swipe, she brushed away a lone tear that lingered on the edge of her eye, expressing her gratitude to him. As they both stood up, they gracefully walked towards the clinic's main entrance, opening the door together. “Before you go I'll introduce you to my other colleague.” She nodded with a small smile.
“Hey, I'd be freaked out too. I'd probably cry. And not like a man, either. Like the biggest girly girl ever. It'd be pathetic.” (Y/N) recognized the voice but couldn't quite place it. Walking alongside Deaton, they rounded the corner to find two children standing near a table, where a medium-sized dog lay across, whimpering. “Sorry didn’t realise you had a late-night patient.” With a playful tone, Deaton cracked a joke, causing the two teenagers to whirl around, their faces adorned with gentle smiles. “Sorry I know you’re closed, but I didn’t know where to go-” Deaton raised his hand in a stop motion smiling lightly. “You did the right thing. Scott looks like you did an excellent job.”
(Y/N) shifted her focus to the young boy, and it suddenly dawned on her who he was. “Nice to see you again inhaler boy.” She joked making his tan skin flush with red. “oh yeah. Thank you again. I found it.” He stuttered. “I love your tattoos.” With a smile, Allison gestured towards (Y/N), drawing attention to their newly revealed arms.
Scott carefully examined the fresh ink, which displayed a fascinating array of creatures ranging from mighty dinosaurs to tiny insects. “Oh, thanks I have a thing for cryptids.” She smiled. “Cryptids?” Scott asked. “The supernatural. You know bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, and werewolves. I’m a bit too into it all.” she joked, each time pointing to one of her pieces of art. “I’m guessing you’ve both met before,” Deaton asked the two nodding. “ (Y/N) will be working with me during the day you might see each other when you come for your evening shift.” With a mutual understanding, the pair exchanged nods and bid farewell, making their way towards the exit. However, just as she was about to leave, Deaton reached out and gently grasped her arm, compelling the girl to face him once again. “Drive safe (Y/N) I don’t know what’s going on out there with the girl, but I can assure you nothing about it is normal. Keep yourself protected.” Deaton released (Y/N) arms as she agreed to wave goodbye to the vet and walk back to her car.
At the far end of the parking lot, Scott accompanied Allison to her car, shielding themselves from the pouring rain. Scott appeared anxious while Allison opened the car door and casually placed her drenched shirt on the passenger seat. He stuttered, struggling to gather the courage to express himself. “So, um... I was wondering... I mean... Is it a family night on Friday, or do you think maybe you'd like to go to that party with me?” With a mumble, he uttered the final words, causing a radiant smile to spread across the girl's face. “Family night was a total lie.” She giggled. “So, is that a, yes? You'll go?” Allison looked down shuffling her feet as he begged. “Definitely yes.”

Friday, September 8th
The following day, Scott got ready for the last day of try-outs by putting on his lacrosse gear. He let out a frustrated sigh as he placed his backpack in his locker. Something didn't feel right. His chest felt constricted, his breath was hot, and his skin burned. It seemed like his body was twisting and turning, with his bones cracking and muscles throbbing. Out of nowhere, Jackson startled him by slamming his gloved hand on Scott's locker. “All right, little man. How 'bout you tell me where you're getting your juice.” His blue eyes twitched with anger. “What?” Jackson taunted Scott by deliberately speaking slowly and mockingly, making sure to emphasize each syllable, as if he believed Scott to be the most unintelligent person on the planet. “Were. Are. You. Getting. Your. Juice?” Scott blinked registering the question in his brain. “My mom does all the grocery shopping.” He muttered. “Now, listen, McCall, you're gonna tell me exactly what it is and whom you're buying it from, because there's no way in hell, you're out there kicking ass on the field like that without some sort of chemical boost.”
“Oh, you mean steroids! … Are you on steroids?”
Scott's jersey collar shot up as Jackson forcefully collided with the lockers, potentially leaving a dent in them. “What the hell is going on with you, McCall???”
“What's going on with me? You really wanna know? Well, so would I! Because I can see, hear, and smell things that I shouldn't be able to see, hear, and smell. I do things that should be impossible, I'm sleepwalking three miles into the middle of the woods, and I'm pretty much convinced that I'm totally out of my freaking mind.” Jackson stood frozen; his mind clouded with confusion. This time, he found himself speechless, unable to produce a clever response. He took a moment to process the passionate outburst, trying to make sense of it all. “You think you're funny, don't you, McCall? I know you're hiding something. I'm gonna find out what it is. I don't care how long it takes.” With a surge of anger, Jackson forcefully slammed his fist against the locker, mere inches away from Scott's ear. He then delivered a powerful smack on Scott's shoulder before striding away, leaving Scott feeling utterly overwhelmed in his wake.
“Scott! Scott, wait up.” With the school day behind them, the lacrosse team eagerly readied themselves for an evening of hard work and challenges. “Stiles, I'm playing the first elimination, man. Can it wait?” Frustration consumed Scott as he let out a deep groan. Despite his attempt to distance himself, Stiles firmly held onto his shoulders, locking eyes with him, revealing bloodshot eyes that mirrored his anger. ”Just hold on, okay? I overheard my dad on the phone. The fibre analysis came back from the lab in L.A. They found animal hairs on the body from the woods!” Scott let out a frustrated sigh and turned his back on his enthusiastic companion. “Stiles, I gotta go.” Filled with anticipation for his chance to score, Scott grabbed his lacrosse stick and helmet, ready to take on the field with a determined jog. “Wait, no! Scott! You're not gonna believe what the animal was!” Stiles came to a halt, his gaze fixed on Scott who seemed completely absorbed in his thoughts. He spoke softly, his voice barely audible, as he concluded his train of thought. “...It was a wolf.”
Coach Finstock positioned himself at the heart of the field, summoning the players to gather around him in a tight-knit circle, their shoulders touching. “Let's go! Gather round! Bring it in, come on! Come on!” Positioned on the sidelines, Allison prepared to take her seat on the bleachers, eager to observe the practice for the second consecutive day. Catching sight of Scott, she greeted him with a friendly wave, to which he responded with a beaming smile. “ Okay. You know how this goes. If you don't cut, you're most likely sitting on the bench for the rest of the season. Do you make the cut? You play. Your parents are proud. Your girlfriend loves ya! Huh? Everything else is, uh... cream cheese.” Laughter filled the air as the group playfully bumped elbows, sharing a moment of joy and camaraderie. “Now, get out there and show me whatcha got! Come on!” he ordered.
“Let's go! Let's go!” The session kicked off with the players engaging in a drill, exchanging passes with one another while Scott maintained a lively bounce on his toes. Surprisingly, he effortlessly caught the ball with minimal exertion when it came his way once more. As he dashed across the field, he swiftly pivoted to dodge a player attempting to snatch the ball from him. Suddenly, Jackson materialized out of nowhere and forcefully tackled him to the ground. Jackson triumphantly removed his helmet and flashed a smug smirk at Scott, before casually jogging away.
Scott and Jackson faced off against each other at the start, locking eyes for a brief moment until Coach Finstock blew the whistle. To Jackson's disappointment, Scott effortlessly snatched the ball before he could react, leaving him to chase after Scott as fast as he could. Just like in yesterday's practice, time seemed to slow down for Scott, allowing him to evade the other players' attempts to tackle him, gracefully leap over a player's ankle when they tried to trip him, and ultimately perform a hands-free round-off flip over three players who tried to bring him down. Finally, Scott scored a goal by skilfully manoeuvring the ball between the goalie's legs.
Scott's jaw dropped, struggling to comprehend the unbelievable turn of events, while Jackson's face contorted with a mix of anger and curiosity, desperate to uncover Scott's hidden secret. In the blink of an eye, this geek had transformed from a clumsy player to a lacrosse sensation overnight. It was clear that something was amiss. As Scott triumphantly raised his fists in the air, his teammates rushed towards him, playfully patting him on the back, while Allison rose from her seat in the stands, applauding and cheering for his remarkable achievement. “McCall! Get over here!” With a thunderous roar, the coach's voice echoed across the field, causing the mass of players to scatter and create a path for his entrance. “What in God's name was that? This is a lacrosse field. What, are you trying out for the gymnastics team?”
“No, Coach.” He stuttered. “What the hell was that?”
“I don't know. I-I was just trying to make the shot.”
“Yeah, well, you made the shot. And guess what?” the coach slapped his padded arm. “You're startin', buddy. You made the first line. Come on!” Stiles, sitting on the bench, was the only player who didn't share in the excitement, sighing heavily as he racked his brain to understand what was troubling his closest friend.
As soon as (Y/N) completed her initial shift at the clinic, she ventured into the enchanting woods that encircled her meadow. Along her journey, she collected an assortment of mushrooms and leaves, relishing in the beauty of nature. With each step, the crisp sound of leaves under her feet echoed, while she gracefully bent around rocks and puddles. As the birds chirped, their soothing melodies provided her with a sense of tranquillity, gradually drowning out the cacophony that had taken hold of her thoughts. Surrounded by the serenity of the woods, she found solace in the embrace of nature, even though the haunting echoes of her past experiences lingered in her mind. The persistent buzzing sounds continued to torment her, a constant reminder that true safety remained elusive.
Little did she know, Derek was stealthily tailing her every move. His emerald eyes were locked onto the well-worn leather jacket draped over her shoulders. The fragrance of his presence mingled with the lingering aroma of sage, which had been relentlessly pursuing him for the past forty-eight hours.
As her foot made contact with the decaying wood, she hesitated for a moment. The wood, now a dark shade of black, disintegrated beneath her weight. With her captivating (E/C) eyes, she gazed up at the remnants of what used to be a house. As (Y/N) cautiously entered the ruins, she carefully watched her every step to avoid any potential falls. The remnants of the once cherished abode were now filled with water, remnants of the previous night's rainfall, forming small puddles that dripped down. Uncertain about what to do, he hesitated in deciding whether to approach the girl who appeared concerned for her safety amidst the ruins. The eerie atmosphere of his old home, now in ruins, had momentarily diverted his attention from rescuing her, fearing she might be snooping around. Suddenly, her basket dropped to the ground with a loud thud, jolting her back to reality. Her eyes welled up with tears as she lifted the basket, her trembling hands betraying her fear of the house. Removing her shoulder covering, she unveiled a plethora of tattoos beneath a brown tank top. But it was the werewolf tattoo, with its piercing red eyes, that left him utterly astounded. At that moment, he realized she must have possessed knowledge about the supernatural realm; otherwise, it would have been an extraordinary coincidence.
Once again, he trailed behind her as they ventured deeper into the woods, eventually coming to a halt just outside her house. A sudden pause made Derek wonder if she had caught sight of him, but she merely turned around while he swiftly concealed himself behind a nearby tree. (Y/N) knelt down, retrieving a carefully crafted stick from the ground. But upon closer inspection, it was not just any stick—it was an arrow. She carefully examined the intricate details before delicately placing it in her basket. Left behind by the full moon, a sweet scent of sage filled his nostrils as she leapt into the bushes near her house. The familiar aroma overwhelmed Derek, forcing him to kneel in agency. It was Wolfsbane, a vibrant purple flower that had mysteriously bloomed overnight. His eyes widened in disbelief. How could this be?
With a click, (Y/N) secured her front door and carefully set the basket of precious items on the kitchen table. Resting beside it, a sleek black jacket lay neatly folded, catching her attention. A moment of hesitation passed before she reached out to pick it up, all the while feeling the scrutinizing gaze of her feline companion. “What?” she asked as the feline tilted his head. “Stop judging me Bones.” Before slipping on the jacket, she muttered under her breath, "It's not my fault he forgot it." Curiously, she discreetly took a quick sniff of the collar, detecting a blend of pine and dog. Wet dog? Probably a dog lover. With a contented sigh, she eagerly looked forward to Monday night.
After a long day of practice, Stiles made a beeline for his bedroom. As he entered, the room was engulfed in darkness, with only the glow of his computer illuminating the space. Eager to delve into the world of Werewolves, he began his online exploration by delving into articles about Lycaon, the legendary first Werewolf. Intrigued, Stiles then turned his attention to an ancient, worn-out book titled The History of Lycanthropy. However, his thirst for knowledge was not quenched, and he returned to his computer to scour the internet for more articles. Growing increasingly concerned by what he had discovered, Stiles decided to print out an old sketch depicting a Hunter aiming at a transformed Werewolf with a crossbow. By the time he finished his research, his room was transformed into a chaotic mess, with piles upon piles of paper scattered everywhere.
Out of nowhere, a loud knock-on Stiles' door jolted him from his seat. Stiles pondered his next move, but eventually shut his MacBook and made his way to the bedroom door. With a sigh, he opened it to find Scott waiting with a grin on his face. “Get in.” Scott's eyes swept across the room, taking in the multitude of printout pages and books that filled the space. It was a stark contrast to the usual appearance of Stiles' room. “You gotta see this thing. I've been up all-night reading-- websites, books, all this information.” With concern etched in his brown eyes, Scott gently placed his backpack on the floor beside Stiles' bed, never once taking his gaze off his friend. “How much Adderall have you had today?” Stiles paused at the question before mumbling “A lot.” Stiles shook his head before changing the subject. “Doesn't matter, okay? Just listen.” Scott settled onto the dishevelled bed while Stiles dragged his desk chair nearer. “Oh, is this about the body? Did they find out who did it?” Scott inquired, but Stiles simply shook his head in response. “No, they're still questioning people. Even Derek Hale.” Scott raised an eyebrow in surprise as he looked at the newly introduced man. “Oh, the guy in the woods that we saw the other day?”
“Yes. But that's not it, okay? Remember the joke from the other day? Not a joke anymore. The wolf, the bite in the woods... I started doing all this reading. Do you even know why a wolf howls?”
“Should I?”
“It's a signal, okay? When a wolf's alone, it howls to signal its location to the rest of the pack. So, if you heard a wolf howling, that means others could have been nearby. Maybe even a whole pack of 'em.”
“Whole pack of wolves?”
“No-- Werewolves.”
Frustration began to bubble up inside Scott as he rose to his feet, convinced that Stiles was playing an elaborate prank on him. “Are you seriously wasting my time with this? You know I'm picking up Allison in an hour.” Scott hastily slung his backpack over his shoulder, preparing to depart. However, just as he was about to make his exit, Stiles swiftly seized his arm and firmly placed his other hand on Scott's chest. “I saw you on the field today, Scott, okay? What you did wasn't just amazing, all right? It was impossible.” Ignoring Stiles' accusation, Scott attempted to brush it off and made another attempt to depart from the situation. “Yeah, so I made a good shot.” With a swift motion, Stiles snatched Scott's backpack and flung it onto his bed, eager to rummage through its contents in search of something specific.
“No, you made an incredible shot! I mean, the way you moved, your speed, your reflexes. Y'know, people can't just suddenly do that overnight. And there's the vision and the senses, and don't even think I don't notice that you don't need your inhaler anymore.” With a swift motion, Stiles grabbed Scott's phone and effortlessly slid it open, unveiling the vibrant glow of the screen. “Okay! Dude, I can't think about this now. We'll talk tomorrow. “The moment those words reached Stiles' ears; a wave of panic washed over him. Concern for Scott's safety and the people around him consumed his thoughts, leaving him feeling overwhelmed. “Tomorrow?! What? No! it says it takes 48 hours for the curse to infect the body. Your 48 hours end tonight. Don't you get it?”
Scott's frustration reached such a peak that his words stumbled and faltered, his speech becoming riddled with stutters, while he engaged in a heated argument with Stiles. “What are you trying to do? I-I just made the first line. I-I got a date with a girl whom I can't believe wants to go out with me, and everything in my life is somehow perfect. Why are you trying to ruin it?”
“I'm trying to help!”
“You're cursed, Scott. You know, and it's not just the moon that will cause you to physically change. It also just so happens to be when your bloodlust will be at its peak.”
“Bloodlust?”
“Yeah, your urge to kill.”
A low rumble escaped from Scott's throat, catching Stiles' attention. “I'm already starting to feel the urge to kill, Stiles.” In a desperate frenzy, Stiles snatched The History of Lycanthropy book from his cluttered desk and began reciting its contents aloud, hoping to persuade Scott with every word he uttered. “You gotta hear this. The change can be caused by anger or anything that raises your pulse. All right? I haven't seen anyone raise their pulse as Allison does. You gotta cancel this date I'm gonna call her right now.” Stiles opened the phone again scrolling through Scott’s few contacts. “What are you doing?” Scott growled louder.” I’m cancelling the date.”
“No, give it to me!”
In a sudden burst of anger, Scott forcefully grabbed the phone from Stiles' grasp, carelessly letting it fall to the ground. He then forcefully pushed Stiles against the wall, his fist poised to strike. However, after a moment of reflection, Scott released his grip on Stiles and redirected his frustration by hurling his desk chair across the room. Stiles' face filled with terror as Scott's actions sank in, and Scott's remorse washed over him almost instantly. With a heavy heart, he glanced down at the floor, his face etched with shame, and quietly muttered an apology to Stiles. “I'm sorry. I-I gotta go get ready for that party.”
With a rapid motion, Scott grabbed his phone and slung his backpack over his shoulder, making his way towards the exit. He cast a final apologetic glance at Stiles before departing. “I'm sorry.” As soon as Stiles' friend disappeared from his view, he couldn't help but release a sigh of relief. However, his distress was still evident as he forcefully grabbed his desk chair and placed it back down. Suddenly, his heart skipped a beat when he noticed four deep gashes resembling claw marks on the leather cover of the chair. It was clear that tonight was not going to unfold smoothly for him.
Derek traced the path of the wolfbane bushes across her property until he reached the end of her driveway. It seemed impossible that the wolfsbane had suddenly appeared after being hidden underground for just two days. Suspicion grew within him, suspecting that she had a hand in this peculiar occurrence. He desperately hoped that her interest in the plant was purely aesthetic, and not indicative of something more sinister, like being a hunter. As he pondered, the sound of jingling keys echoed through the air, signifying (Y/N) leaving the house. Wrapped in her beloved leather jacket, she exuded a captivating aura that weakened his knees. The jacket suited her perfectly, and as she sniffed its collar, a surge of excitement coursed through her body. Overwhelmed by pleasure, the man couldn't help but groan as he watched her relish in his scent, their connection palpable. Derek discreetly positioned himself behind a tree, observing as her car disappeared down the road, leaving him longing for her presence.
The anticipation of their scents intertwining made his pulse quicken, causing a stir in his black jeans. Thoughts of claiming her as his own flooded his mind, contemplating ways to leave his mark through clothing, marks, scents, and the chemistry of their bodies. Struggling to maintain control, his fangs clenched together, reminding him of the last time he felt this powerless, back when he was a teenager navigating the complexities of his changing physique. Hoping for a different outcome this time, he silently pleaded for this woman to be unlike the others. However, the mere thought of her ignited a fiery anger within him, fuelling a desire to tear her apart if they were to cross paths again. The fear of heartbreak loomed, but he was determined to win her over, despite the haunting tattoo on her back that served as a reminder of his past. Hopefully, she wouldn't possess the same murderous tendencies as his ex.
Just before losing control, he instinctively seized a piece of the purple plant, tightly holding onto it with a gloved hand, before disappearing into the enigmatic woods once again.

Scott and Allison made their grand entrance to the party just in time. The crowd was already in high spirits, paying no attention to the unfamiliar face leading the event, and the music was blasting, creating the perfect atmosphere for them to dance the night away. As they made their way through the house, they discovered a lively scene on the back patio, with partygoers enjoying themselves by the pool. Amidst the excitement, Scott noticed a mysterious figure casting a dark shadow near the fire pit by the yard's entrance. Derek Hale and Scott locked eyes, their tension palpable. However, their intense moment was interrupted by the neighbour’s dog, which began barking at Derek. Instantly, Derek shifted his focus to the rottweiler, commanding it to silence. Once the dog quieted down, Derek turned back to face Scott, who had taken Allison further onto the dance floor. “You, okay?” Allison interrupted Scott's intense gaze at the enigmatic man, demanding his attention. But when Scott turned his head back, Derek had mysteriously disappeared. “What? Yeah, I'm fine.”
Scott and Allison moved in rhythm to the music beside the pool. As the beat intensified, Allison gently wrapped her arm around Scott's neck, drawing them closer together. With a playful smile, she lovingly ran her fingers through the back of his hair before nuzzling her face against his neck. Scott's eyes wandered until they landed on Lydia and Jackson, locked in a passionate embrace against one of the pillars in front of the house. As Jackson began to kiss and nibble on Lydia's neck, she suddenly glanced up, breaking free from the intense moment. Scott couldn't help but stare at her, noticing a peculiar look in her eyes, as if she were envisioning him instead of her athletic boyfriend.
Allison and Scott stood face-to-face, their noses almost touching, ready to conclude the night with a passionate kiss. As the moon began to cast its enchanting spell on him, Scott's fingers instinctively gripped the back of Allison's jacket. However, a sudden and excruciating headache overwhelmed him, causing his vision to blur, and forcing him to reluctantly break away from his beloved dream girl. “Are you okay?” As she observed, he stumbled his way into the house, she inquired about his condition. “I'll be right back.”
Scott stumbled his way into the house, abandoning Allison in the backyard. As he made his way through the dining room, his eyesight began to tremble. He brushed past Stiles, his balance wavering. “Yo, Scott, you good?” Stiles' voice trembled and cracked as he spoke, leaving Scott feeling unsettled. The weight of the moment was too much for Scott to handle, causing him to ignore Stiles' question and hastily navigate his way through the house and out into the garden. Without hesitation, he sprang into his mother's car and sped away, leaving a bewildered Allison standing alone on the porch, trying to make sense of it all. “Allison.” the brunette spun her head round, her gaze fixated on a man wearing a jacket. His piercing green eyes held her captive, casting a spell on her akin to a mesmerizing cobra. “I'm a friend of Scott's.” he finished “My name's Derek.”
Scott sprinted up the stairs, his heart pounding in his chest. He swiftly locked the bedroom door and slumped down against it, feeling a mix of anxiety and adrenaline coursing through his veins. The intense heat of his sweat made his skin tingle, and his hands throbbed with an inexplicable force. Letting out a pained groan, he stumbled into the ensuite, hastily removing his jacket and t-shirt. Seeking solace, he sought refuge in the bathtub, turning on the shower to wash away the overwhelming emotions. As the water washed away his sweat, he felt a brief sense of relief. However, his relief quickly turned to agony as he clenched his teeth in pain and anxiously ran his right hand across his face. When he glanced down at his water-soaked palms, he was filled with horror to discover his fingernails transforming into long, razor-sharp claws. These dark-coloured talons were now his new reality.
In a state of panic, he rushed out of the shower. Scott's heart raced as he glanced at his reflection in the mirror above the medicine cabinet. The sight of his canines transforming into fangs and his irises shimmering like molten gold left him utterly bewildered. Suddenly, a forceful knock echoed through his bedroom door, intensifying his already heightened anxiety. “Go away.” A low, menacing growl escaped his lips as he anticipated his mother's arrival, but the persistent knocking persisted, unfazed by his reaction. “Scott, it's me.” The sound of Stiles' voice echoed faintly from behind the wooden door. Recognizing his best friend, Scott reluctantly unlocked the door but only allowed it to open a crack. Leaning his forehead against the door, Scott fought to steady his breathing, trying to regain control. “Let me in, Scott. I can help.” Panic sets in as the realization dawns on him that Stiles is drawing nearer, regretting not heeding his friend's advice from the start. It's uncanny how his friend always seems to be spot-on about the most peculiar matters. “No! Listen, you gotta find Allison.” With his fresh set of full gums, he stumbled over his words as he tried to adapt to the unfamiliar sensation. “She's fine, all right? I saw her get a ride from the party. She's-she's fine, all right?”
“No, I think I know who it is—"
“Dude, just let me in! We can try—”
“It's Derek. Derek Hale is the Werewolf! He's the one that bit me. He's the one that killed the girl in the woods.” Stiles took a moment to absorb the latest information Scott had shared with him, carefully considering his response before delivering the news that Scott was dreading to hear. “Scott... Derek's the one who drove Allison from the party...” he stuttered.
With a forceful bang, Scott forcefully shut the door once more, only to swiftly escape through the window as if it were a trivial task. Unaware of his friend's departure, Stiles frantically pounded on the door, desperately calling out Scott's name. Meanwhile, Scott's physical appearance underwent a complete transformation as he sprinted through the dense forest. His eyebrows became furrowed, his ears pointed, mutton chops adorned his face, and his eyes emitted a mesmerizing golden glow. Claws and fangs completed his newfound features. His elongated canine teeth glistened with saliva as he unleashed a fierce roar. Scott's first stop was Derek's car, conveniently parked near the entrance sign of the reserve. A quick glance inside confirmed that neither Allison nor Derek were present, prompting him to venture back into the dense forest.
Scott's mind was consumed by rage towards Derek as he relentlessly pursued the sweet scent of Allison. He couldn't help but wonder what game Derek was playing by involving Allison in the first place. However, as Scott noticed Allison's jacket hanging on a broken branch, he realized that it was her scent he had been following all along, not his date's. “Where is she?” With a low, menacing growl, he anxiously scanned the surroundings, desperately hoping that Derek was nearby. “She's safe... from you.” In the silence, a haunting echo reverberated through the air. Scott's eyes darted across the expanse of grass, searching for any sign of another presence. Suddenly, the world seemed to tilt as the ground rushed towards him. Derek's powerful grip held him firmly, forcing his face into the earth. With a swift motion, the older man hoisted him up, only to forcefully press him against a sturdy tree, the impact resonating with a resounding slam.
“What did you do with her?” Scott mumbled under his breath, straining to catch a glimpse of Derek's wolf form before he transformed back. All he managed to see were the glinting fangs, which only served to confirm his suspicions. “Shh, quiet. Too late. They're already here. Run.” Derek yanked Scott up from the ground and guided him further into the dense forest. Abruptly, a dazzling beam of light halted their progress, causing an object to forcefully pierce Scott's arms, pinning him against yet another tree. A low growl escaped his lips. Out of nowhere, three men emerged from the shadows, led by a figure who had a crossbow pointed directly at Scott. Derek observed the scene from afar, maintaining his distance. “Take him.”
Without wasting a moment, Derek swiftly incapacitated the two men standing closest to him, leaving their leader at a disadvantage. Seizing the opportunity, Derek swiftly removed the arrow lodged in Scott's arm, causing him to let out a pained roar. Sensing the chaos, the two assailants hastily retreated, leaving their leader to tend to his fallen comrades. However, when he turned his attention back to the tree, he discovered that Scott had mysteriously disappeared. Determined to catch up with the fleeing wolves, Derek pressed on, only to abruptly halt as he stumbled upon a trail of wolfsbane. “Stop turning that way.” With a commanding tone, he directed Scott towards the bustling streets, urging him to steer clear of the poisonous flower.
After catching sight of the road, Derek and Scott decided to take a break and let the younger one catch his breath. Scott, who had returned to his human form, collapsed to his knees as he recuperated from the intense ordeal of transforming into a Werewolf, fearing for Allison's safety, and being targeted by Hunters. Although it wasn't the smoothest transformation night Derek had witnessed, given the difficult circumstances, the young boy handled it admirably. As he glanced at Derek, his face displayed a mix of frustration and resentment. “Who were they?” A low, menacing growl escaped his lips as he sensed his sharp teeth gradually shrinking. “Hunters. The kind that has been hunting us for centuries.”
“Us? You mean you! You did this to me!” Derek couldn't help but roll his eyes in exasperation. ” Is it so bad, Scott? That you can see better? Hear more clearly? Move faster than any human could ever hope? You've been given something that most people would kill for. The Bite is a gift.” Scott let out an exasperated sigh, clearly unimpressed with his remark. A gift? “I don't want it.” Scott didn't see this as a gift at all. “You will. And you're gonna need me if you want to learn how to control it.” As Derek's hand gently rested on Scott's shoulder, his emerald eyes magically transformed into a mesmerizing shade of ocean blue in an attempt to frighten the poor new blood. “So, you and me, Scott? We're brothers now.”

Monday, September 11th
Stiles and Scott returned to school, their weekend spent relaxing and reflecting on all that had transpired. They also crafted a convincing tale for Allison, ensuring that their adventures remained a secret. “You know what worries me the most?” Scott inquired, and Stiles steered the vehicle into the school's parking lot. “If you say "Allison," I'm gonna punch you in the head.”
“She probably hates me now.”
“I doubt that. But you might want to come up with a pretty amazing apology. Or, you know, you could just tell her the truth and revel in the awesomeness of the fact that you're a frickin' Werewolf.” With a forceful push, Scott forcefully shut the sturdy metal door of the jeep. “Okay, bad idea. Hey, we'll get through this. Come on, if I have to, I'll chain you up myself on full moon nights and feed you live mice. I had a boa once. I could do it.”
As the sun streamed through her sheer curtains, (Y/N) leisurely tidied up her bed. Bones, her black furball of a pet, playfully rolled around on her pillow, leaving a trace of his presence. Annoyed, she glanced at the mess he created, but before she could fix it, her phone suddenly rang, startling her. With a quick glance at the caller ID, she eagerly answered the call, a wide smile spreading across her face. “Well good morning, Mr mechanic.” With a playful grin, she playfully gathered the bones and playfully set them down on the floor.
“How about that coffee date?” With a smile on his face, he closed the door of the sturdy house and proceeded to unlock his car door. “I’ll be ready in five minutes do you want me to meet you in town?” Seating himself in the driver's seat, he expertly guided the car out of the remaining portion of the driveway. “Not a chance I'll come pick you up. Don’t even think about bringing your purse with you I’m paying.”
In a hurry, (Y/N) raced down the stairs and quickly settled on the bench outside. With determination, she tried to tie her shoes using only one hand. “I can’t do that you helped me with my car and let me pay.”
“No can do. My mother raised me better than that.”
“Well, we will see about that Derek. I’ll race you to the card reader.”
“May the best person win.”
As the boys stepped outside the doors, they realized how swiftly the school day had passed. “So, what happened? You left me stranded at the party.“ As Scott glanced back, he caught sight of Allison's gaze fixed upon him, filled with an unmistakable sense of betrayal. “Yeah, I-I know, I know. I'm sorry, I am. But you're gonna have to trust that I had a really good reason.” Stiles made his way towards his trusty jeep, ensuring the two teens got some privacy. “Did you get sick?” Scott lets out a deep breath, his thoughts replaying the events of Friday night in his mind. “...I had an attack of something,” he mumbled. “Am I gonna get an explanation?” Scott hesitated briefly, carefully constructing his sentence. “Can you just find it in your heart to trust me on this one?” Allison let out a deep sigh, creating a gentle ticking sound with her lips. “Am I gonna regret this?” Scott shrugged sheepishly smiling lightly. “Probably. So, is that a "yes" on a second chance?” With a slow nod of her head, Allison brought a surge of joy to the werewolf's heart. Their smiles exchanged in a fleeting moment, only to be abruptly interrupted by the blaring of a car horn nearby. As Allison's gaze lifted to locate the origin of the noise, she caught sight of a familiar burgundy SUV, signalling her departure from the date. “That's my dad. I better go.”
Scott was just about to head back to the school for his lacrosse practice when a familiar scent hit his nose, causing him to abruptly change direction. It was the unmistakable combination of gunpowder and pine, the same scent from the previous night. As he glanced towards the SUV, he noticed her father stepping out of the car - the very same man who led the group of Hunters that had shot him a few nights ago. Mr Argent's eyes locked onto them, causing Scott to be momentarily speechless. With a hint of awkwardness, he waved at them using his gloved hand, unsure of how to react.

Hey Jeff Davis one note among many, but did you know that for a wound made with wolfsbane, you actually need to burn it with the ash of that specific strand of wolfsbane to heal it?
This particular piece of knowledge comes from the tv show you created called Teen Wolf which you may or may not be familiar with.
Ten thousand fanfic writers have gotten this particular piece of lore correct for a decade since you invented it. There are fics where Stiles’ love language is gathering different kinds of wolfsbane to always be able to save Derek Hale.
Truly, get yourself sorted sir (disrespectful).

Hi!
First off, this is my first time asking for some fic recs. but thank you for your service. I am new to this fandom but have been in MANY other fandoms and you are doing some fine work, friend. Hats off to you!🫡
Now onto my fic search, I just read “A Tiny Bit of String” by bunnymaccool. It was absolutely lovely, but only a one shot and I need more! I was wondering if there are any other fics out there similar to it, namely where some or all of the Hales magically return and Derek has to deal with suddenly having his family back? Or any other Fix-It Alive Hale Family fics. Preferably Sterek, but non-ship related would be fine too. Thank you for your help!! :)
Yeah I think so.

A Tiny Bit of String by bunnymaccool

The pulling of a single bit of string can sometimes, perhaps, unravel the entire piece of knitting.
Sometimes the universe decides it has taken too much… and chooses to give back.

Castle On The Hill by thegirlnamedcove
(3/3 I 4,742 I Teen)
“I figured it out!” Stiles skidded into the loft at ten at night, all noise and kinetic energy. Derek was parked in an armchair up against the picture window, a book in his lap, and irritation growing by the second. “What?” “Magic. I figured it out. Well, some of it, the important parts, hey how opposed are you to bloodletting?” He sighed and snapped his book shut, rising from the chair to head Stiles off before he started poking around trying to find Derek’s knives. “Moderate to very. What did you figure out?” “Derek. I can bring them back. The Hales, your family, I can bring all of them back.”
Dream of Life Again by BarlowGirl
(1/1 I 18,321 I Explicit)
“You better be ready,” Lydia says as she cleans dirt out from under her nails with an antiseptic wipe. Stiles can smell the lemon scent even from where he stands a few feet away. She’s probably going to end up covered in blood in a few moments, but she likes to be in control in any way she can, so he doesn’t tease her about this. “It’s time to start.”
“I’m ready,” Stiles says and he’s pretty sure it’s not even a lie. Hopefully.
Scott, Stiles, and Lydia each sit at one point of the triskelion that Lydia’s drawn on the tarp. The center is a tight knot of some language Stiles had never even heard of before this, written in ink in tiny writing. It’s beautiful and also makes him slightly nauseated. Lydia makes both cuts, so the blood drops from Stiles’ arm and Scott’s, too, into the center of the triskelion. There’s wolfsbane on Scott’s knife, not enough to make him sick, but enough to keep him from healing too quickly.
It’s a surprisingly simple thing, after that, for what they’re doing. Blood, a few words, and a little magic.
Just those things, and, for the first time in three years, Laura Hale gasps in a breath.
No Other Love by Idday
(1/1 I 18,745 I Teen)
And maybe it’s irony, or the universe at work, or maybe it’s just Derek Hale’s shitty luck, but that’s when, at that exact moment (as Stiles will swear later), there’s a knock on the door. “Laura?” Derek breathes in disbelief, and Stiles feels his own face fall into confused slackness. Because the girl standing in the doorway? The last time Stiles had seen her—or, well, half of her—she’d been very naked, and very, very dead. “Hey, baby bro,” she says with a grin. ... OR: The one where Laura comes back from the dead, and it turns out to be bad for Stiles, because he’s suddenly spending a lot of quality time with one of the coolest people he’s ever met, and her brother. The guy that he might be just a little in love with. He's not okay.
Oh Alpha, My Alpha OR Pack. Finally. by iLuvSteterundSterek
(15/? I 30,680 I Teen)
What if Lydia resurrected Laura instead? And what if Derek gave the alpha spark back to the rightful alpha? The Hale Pack might finally regain control over Beacon Hills. The only problems may be the emissary who failed his pack, and the hypocritical wolf who thinks that Beacon Hills and Stiles are his.

One More Again by HelloWhyTheFuckAmIHere
(16/16 I 22,238 I Not Rated I Sterek)
When a strange man appears in the Hale Pack territory with an unusual proposition for Stiles and Lydia, Stiles is unable to resist going back in time to stop the Hale House fire.
Even after a few bumps in the road, Stiles finds himself in the past with one nearly-insurmountable goal - getting Talia Hale and the rest of her family to trust him with their lives.

Begin Again (1173 words) by Winchesterek Chapters: 1/? Stiles’ heart was pounding in his ears as he reached in through the broken window, feeling for a pulse point. He couldn't believe what he’d just witnessed. Not only was it a hit-and-run, but they’d also shot the girl before they took off.
“Hey, hey. Stay with me. What’s your name?” he asked her as she drifted in and out of consciousness. She mumbled ‘Erica’ before she slipped away again and Stiles tried to yank the door open but it was jammed.
Then he saw it. The bullet wound was smoking. He grabbed her shirt and pulled it aside to look at her shoulder. There were black lines surrounding the wound.
“Shit.” He knew then that she was a werewolf and the people that attacked her were hunters. They likely only left her because they thought the bullet would do her in. If she were human, Stiles wouldn't dare move her because of any injuries she might have from the accident.
But she wasn't human. If he could get the bullet out and heal the wound, she would heal any other injuries on her own.
Stiles reached in to grab her under her arms and hauled her out of the broken window. He laid her out on the ground and ripped her shirt open around the collar, then slung his backpack off. “Alright, hang in there. We’re gonna get this out.”
He fished his pocket knife out of his bag, then took a deep breath before digging in for the bullet. Stiles removed it effectively and tossed it on the ground.
“Almost done. Just have to take care of this wolfsbane. You’re doing great,” he told her even if she didn't respond. It was a habit that Stiles had, always talking to his patients as if they were conscious enough to hear him even when they weren't.
Stiles pulled out a vial of wolfsbane from his bag and prayed that it was the right strain as he opened it, dumped some onto the wound, and packed it in. He capped it and threw it back into his bag, then grabbed his lighter and lit it. It sparked and smoked and Erica started convulsing.
His heart started evening out as the black lines disappeared and the wound healed, leaving Erica lying still on the ground. “Oh, thank god.”
Then she breathed deeply and blinked at him, her eyes glazed and confused.
“You’re okay,” Stiles breathed. “I called the ambulance when the accident happened. I know you’re a werewolf and I healed your wolfsbane poisoning. The ambo should be here any minute.”
She tried to talk and Stiles shook his head, stopping her from rising before she passed out again. He looked up to see lights flashing as an ambulance pulled up.
“What happened?” a woman asked as she exited the ambulance, while another went around to the back to get a transfer board and gurney from what Stiles could see.
“It was a hit and run. Her vitals are good and I can't tell if there are any head injuries, but there are no visual fractures. She’s been in and out of consciousness.”
“You moved her?” the woman asked, giving him a judgemental look.
“I made sure to stabilize her neck as best as I could while she was moved,” he lied and there was no evidence that he’d done so.
“Alright, we got it from here.”
Stiles watched as the other medic came and they transferred her onto the board, strapped her to the gurney, and loaded her into the back of the ambulance.
Before Stiles could react, everything was silent. He looked at the wrecked car and sighed, running a hand over his face and packed up his backpack. So much for having a stress-free life in Beacon Hills. He really should have stayed at Berkeley.

It had been an hour since Erica had been admitted to Beacon Hills Memorial and Derek was beside himself with worry. He’d gotten there as soon as he could. Erica had been in and out of consciousness even though the doctors told him there was nothing wrong with her. He could smell the wolfsbane on her skin, but the poison had left her system as far as Derek could tell.
He held her hand and sighed, raising it to scent her and press his cheek against it. “Come on, Erica. Wake up.” Please.
As if she heard his please, her voice broke into his thoughts with, “You know me. I survive on drama.”
Her voice was hoarse, but still light and teasing. Derek looked up, relief washing through him. “If you needed some attention, all you had to do was tell me. Really, enlisting the hospital wasn't necessary.”
Erica laughed and then raised her free hand to hold her head. “I feel like I have the worst hangover.” She sighed. “What happened to my car?”
”They took it to the impound lot to inventory it. I think the officer said it was totaled.” He squeezed her hand and assured her, “Well get you another one.”
”Fucking hunters. I swear. They came out of nowhere and rammed me, then shot me with fucking wolfsbane,” Erica grumbled.
“Hunters?” Derek’s brows rose in concern. “I scented the wolfsbane on you, but I didn't see any wounds… how did you remove it?”
Erica paused, looking thoughtful as she held Derek’s hand tighter. “There was a man… he helped me.” She frowned and rubbed at her eyes before she sighed. “I don't remember much… just spots.”
Spots? That made Derek frown more, his thumb idly stroking over the back of Erica’s hand as he tried to soothe her. “So he helped you?”
”Well I’m alive so that’s the only explanation that I have,” Erica replied and rested her head against a pillow.
Derek tried to pick up the scent of whoever it was that helped Erica, but he couldn't find much on her. There was something sweet lingering on her skin, but they’d removed her clothes when she was admitted to the hospital so he wouldn't find it there. “Well, whoever he is, I’ll have to owe him. Hale’s repay their debts.”
”I don't think he’ll feel like you owe him. I mean. Why would he save me if he was expecting something out of it and then not show up to the hospital?” Erica closed her eyes and squeezed Derek’s hand again. “Really, I’m okay. When can we leave?”
Derek glanced at the door, giving Erica another once over before he stood. “I’ll check with the doctors. I brought you a change of clothes since they said the others were ruined in the wreck.”
He released Erica’s hand and stood. “I’ll be back.”
He wiped his hands on his jeans and went to find a doctor. Derek wanted to get Erica out of there just as much as Erica wanted to leave. He hated hospitals.
And whoever saved Erica, Derek knew he owed them. He made a silent promise to find out who it was whenever things were quiet again.

wolfsbane chapter three - pack mentality
chapter three - pack mentality
Scott is left in utter disbelief as his vivid dream of being assaulted on a school bus suddenly materializes before his eyes. Desperate for solace, he turns to Derek for support, only to be warned that help won't come without a price. Derek reminds the young werewolf of the unintentional role he played in sabotaging Derek's date with (Y/N), making it clear that their friendship may be tested in the process.

Wednesday, September 20th
As the rain poured down on the September night, it seemed to awaken a sense of adventure in the creatures of the night. From mischievous foxes rummaging through bins to young lovebirds seeking stolen moments, the atmosphere was ripe with excitement. Scott, too, longed for an undercover rendezvous with Alison, yearning for their private world under the cover of darkness. “Come on.” With hearts aflutter, the young couple dashed out of the school's main building and into the staff car park, their laughter echoing through the air as they revelled in their playful escapades. “Where are you taking me?” Above, the ominous flickering of fluorescent lights created a haunting scene, as their shadows danced across the wet pavement and disappeared behind the old, yellow buses. “Somewhere where we can be alone.“ Scott's face, bronzed by the sun, beamed with joy as he turned to Allison, never letting go of her hand. “We are alone...” the smiling boy positioned himself against the bus door, finding comfort as he leaned back. With a tender gesture, he drew Allison closer, their faces inching closer to one another. “Somewhere where we can be more alone.”
With a gentle push, Scott opened the folding door and cast his eyes upon Allison, who exuded an irresistible allure. Their gazes locked smiles lingering on their lips until Scott took the lead and guided her into the room. “Come on!” he strolled halfway down the aisle, then settled into the seat on the right side, leaning against the grimy window. Allison, feeling mischievous, plopped down on the seat opposite him and locked eyes with a playful smirk. He gazed at the brunette, his smile tinged with nervousness; she nonchalantly shrugged and mirrored his grin. With a nervous bite of his lip, the boy with captivating brown eyes mustered up the courage to approach his crush and take a seat beside her. Leaning over, he steadied himself by gripping the headrest in front of them, before gently pressing his lips against hers, which were beautifully adorned with gloss.
In a passionate embrace, the two locked lips, their desire intertwining like a synchronized dance. Scott's hands eagerly moved to unbutton Allison's blouse, while his other hand tightened its grip, his dark hair and nails digging into the leather, leaving marks of their intensity. With each kiss on Allison's delicate neck, Scott's control began to crumble, like fragile porcelain on the verge of shattering. As he felt his inner wolf growing more powerful, he quickly pulled away from Allison. He kept his head down, hiding his amber eyes and animalistic features behind his curly hair. Allison, still recovering from the intense desire that had clouded her mind, looked up at him with sleepy eyes and spoke softly in a hesitant tone. “What's wrong?” With a sudden jolt, Scott took a step back and pivoted on his heels. He leaned against the two seats behind him, his furry paws gripping the fabric tightly. His breathing grew more laboured, and he lowered his head as he spoke in a hushed and urgent tone. “Get away!” With a low, menacing growl, he pivoted, deliberately positioning himself to face away from Allison. As he did so, the bus appeared to bask in a gentle radiance emanating from his eyes, offering a stark contrast to the icy predator lurking within him. “Scott?” Gasping for breath, his forehead creased, his hairline forming a distinctive V-shape, and his sideburns extending into wild, untamed mutton chops. Allison positioned herself behind the troubled teenager, her face filled with worry as she observed him. “Scott?” she repeated. With his grip on control slipping, Scott pleaded for her to keep her distance, his voice punctuating his snarl. “Get away from me...”
With his ears elongating and their ends becoming pointed, and his fangs protruding as drool flowed down in heavy streams, he found himself unable to resist facing Allison, who, as anticipated, was overcome with fear and began to withdraw gradually. Gasping for air, Scott observed her intently, his sight tinged with a crimson haze. The wolf within him had triumphed in the struggle for control. With measured steps, Allison cautiously retreated down the aisle, while the boy, resembling a predator stalking its prey, advanced towards her. Completely clueless, Allison found herself at a loss for what to do. I mean, who wouldn't be in that situation? It's like one moment her boyfriend is showering her with passionate kisses, and the next he's chasing her down like a predator after its prey. Filled with terror, she let out a desperate moan and bolted towards the nearest exit, hoping to escape the chaos. Scott's lightning-fast reflexes kicked in as he swiftly dropped to his knees and seized her ankle, forcefully pulling her back towards him. The piercing sound of her screams reverberated within the confines of the metallic vehicle. Desperate to escape his inhuman grip, Allison frantically searched for something, anything, to cling onto and free herself from his clutches. The once flawless nails, now chipped, grazed against the cold metal legs of the seats. With determination, she managed to grasp onto one of the legs, finding support as she delivered a swift kick to her boyfriend's sculpted chest. With a sudden burst of energy, Allison sprang up and raced towards the front of the bus. However, her progress was halted by the seemingly impenetrable doors that blocked her path. She was stuck, with no way out.
Despite the small amount of moonlight that seeped into the bus, the girl's broken body was surrounded by a chilling pool of crimson liquid. However, her fear did not deter her from relentlessly pounding and striking the glass with every ounce of strength she had left in her petite frame. As the seat flew down the aisle, she instinctively pressed herself against the entrance, narrowly escaping being struck by it. Desperately, she wedged her bloodied fingers into the narrow gap between the door and the frame, only to witness Scott's eerie transformation as he slowly approached her once again. The creature’s eyes were now completely yellow and bloodshot, while Allison desperately pushed her fingers through the narrow opening in the door. With a final burst of strength, she managed to pry it open, only to be seized by the werewolf, its icy grip on her face sending shivers down her spine. She clamped her hand over her mouth to stifle a scream and was forcefully pushed back, causing the door to slam shut once more. Her face collided with the window, and she surrendered to the chase as Scott's excitement grew.
(Y/N)'s day began like any other, with a soothing cup of lavender tea and a moment of tranquillity in her blossoming garden. The world around her appeared harmonious, devoid of any disruptions. After bidding farewell to her faithful feline companion, she ignited her engine and embarked on her daily journey into town. (Y/N) marvelled at the differences between Beacon Hills and her former homes. In New Orleans, she frequented small businesses and sought out handmade items, while in Texas, she found herself surrounded by big-box stores like Walmart and Target, with a Starbucks seemingly on every block. Despite the contrast, she enjoyed exploring the unique offerings of each place. Beacon Hills was the epitome of a harmonious blend, combining the best of both worlds. However, what truly captivated (Y/N)'s heart was the school itself. She yearned for the opportunity to attend classes and immerse herself in the same knowledge as her peers. Perhaps her life would have taken a different path had she been granted that chance. If only her teachers had shown more concern, things like her spelling skills would have improved. As she waited at the traffic light outside the school, she overheard a group of teenagers chatting and giggling. However, as soon as she rounded the corner, the atmosphere changed drastically. Parked by the staff entrance, a police car and an ambulance stood still. Uniformed officers, frozen in shock, witnessed the gruesome scene, some even succumbing to nausea. Suddenly, her eyes locked on the bus. Its vibrant yellow hue was now marred by the unmistakable splatters of blood. “Oh my god,” With a hushed tone, she carefully examined the metal frame, her eyes fixated on the unmistakable claw marks that were deeply engraved into it.
As the doors of the school groaned open, Scott and Stiles stepped inside, their minds already wandering to the endless possibilities of the day. “So, you killed her?” The werewolf struggled to convey the bizarre dream to his companion, but the more he recounted the details, the more vivid it became in his mind. He could only pray that Alison was nearby. “I don't know. I just woke up. I was sweating like crazy, and I couldn't breathe. I've never had a dream where I woke up like that before.” A look of astonishment crossed Stiles' face as he lifted his eyebrows in response to Scott's remark. “Really? I have. Usually ends a little differently...” the young wolf responded with a dismissive gesture of his eyes as if he had just rolled them in disbelief, all while holding his cup of coffee. “A) I mean I've never had a dream that felt that real, and B) Never give me that much detail about you in bed again.” With a quick nod, the buzzcut boy acknowledged the statement. “Noted.” Stiles hesitated, gathering his thoughts before mustering the courage to address something he knew Scott wouldn't be thrilled to hear. He cleared his throat and began to speak, his words carefully chosen. “Let me take a guess here—"
“No, I know. Do you think it has something to do with me going out with Allison tomorrow like I'm gonna lose control and rip her throat out?” A look of shock crossed Stiles' face as if he had been personally affronted by Scott's implication. “No, of course not.” his gaze bore into Stiles, his eyes filled with intensity. He had spent enough time with Stiles to see through his facade, and finally, Stiles relented, admitting defeat.”...Yeah, that's totally it,” Scott's gaze bore into Stiles, his eyes filled with intensity. He had spent enough time with Stiles to see through his facade, and finally, Stiles relented, admitting defeat. “Hey, come on! It's gonna be fine, all right? Personally, I think you're handling this pretty frickin' amazingly. You know, it's not like there's a Lycanthropy for Beginners class you can take.“ Scott's hands shot up in disbelief as he silently communicated his frustration to his best friend. However, Stiles' ridiculous joke sparked a new idea in his mind. Perhaps not a traditional textbook, but there could be other resources to help him learn. “Yeah... not a class, but maybe a teacher.“ Incoherent mutterings escaped his lips as Stile's head jerked back and forth, vehemently rejecting the thoughts that plagued Scott's mind. “Who, Derek? Are you forgetting the part where we got him tossed in jail?” Despite being fully aware of those facts, he couldn't help but respond in the same exasperated tone as the energetic teen. “Yeah, I know, but chasing Allison, dragging her to the back of the bus... it felt so real.“ With a hint of scepticism, Stiles rolled his eyes, his chocolate orbs reflecting his doubt, and retorted in his usual sarcastic tone. “How real?” he asked. The shapeshifted shrugged. “Like it actually happened.”
As Scott and Stiles made their way towards the back building, they both pushed open the back doors at the same time. However, just as they were about to continue walking to class, their steps came to an abrupt halt. Their eyes widened in shock, resembling saucepans, as they were met with a horrifying sight - an overwhelming amount of blood. Numerous police officers and an ambulance were stationed nearby, creating a scene of commotion. The air was filled with the sound of people conversing, occasionally interrupted by the loud pops of camera shutters. The sheriff's deputies had cordoned off the area surrounding one of the golden buses, which had its back covered in blood and its emergency exit door severely damaged. “...I think it did,” Stiles whispered.
Once more, the duo dashed through the corridors, with Stiles desperately attempting to calm down a frantic Scott. Sweat trickled down his face as he anxiously scrolled through his phone, desperately searching for any trace of a message or missed call from his crush. “She's probably fine-" “She's not answering my texts, Stiles.” Scott's eyes darted anxiously across the bustling hallways, desperately searching for any trace of Allison amidst the sea of students. He scanned the crowd, hoping to catch a glimpse of her familiar brown hair and those captivating amber eyes that always seemed to sparkle. However, no matter how hard he looked, there was no sign of her presence, no scent to guide him towards her. “It could just be a coincidence, all right?” tiles stumbled over his words, his speech faltering. The boy with the buzzcut was well aware that the evidence presented made his claim seem rather implausible. “A seriously amazing coincidence-“
“Just help me find her, okay?” Scott continued to pace back and forth as he made his way down the hallway, glancing at the numerous students he passed. The colour of his olive skin turned a deep shade of red, reflecting the anger and frustration he felt towards himself. “Do you see her?” Stiles, quieter than his closest pal, diligently shifted his gaze from left to right, rapidly surveying the crowd with utmost attentiveness. “No...” his eyes remained fixed on the scene, his fingers nervously tousling his hair. Suddenly, he quickened his pace and swiftly turned the corner, his composure slipping away. Stiles, also filled with panic, desperately tried to keep up but was swallowed by the bustling crowd. Meanwhile, Scott fought to regain control of his breath, his heart pounding loudly in his ears. Leaning heavily against a locker, he gripped it tightly with both hands. His eyes flickered from brown to gold as he let out a guttural scream, causing those nearby to jump in fright. With a forceful punch, he struck the blue metal door, causing it to shake and clang loudly, the sound echoing down the empty hallway as the hinges groaned. he snapped back to reality, realizing the gravity of his actions, and swiftly made his escape. He retreated down the hallway, eventually reaching a crossroads where he abruptly turned around, only to collide with another student - Allison. Her radiant smile and shimmering pink lips instantly eased the tension within the young wolf, as she playfully chuckled at his antics. “You scared the hell out of me!” A sigh escaped from Scott's lips, unable to be contained. His face lit up with relief as he gazed upon the stunning new girl, standing before him, full of life and vitality. ”You're okay!” As she assumed he was talking about the collision they just had, he knelt and picked up her books from the dirty ground beside her. “Once my heart starts beating again, yeah.” She joked. “What?” As she gazed upon him, she couldn't help but notice the expression of pure relief that washed over his face. “I'm just happy to see you.” His words flowed effortlessly, evoking a gentle blush that painted her cheeks in a subtle shade of pink. Just as their moment began to feel uncomfortable, the principal's voice broke the silence, resonating through the PA system in the background. “Attention students, this is your principal. I know you're all wondering about the incident that occurred last night to one of our buses... While the police work to determine what happened, classes will proceed as usual.”
A collective groan echoed through the hallway as the students heard the disappointing news. Meanwhile, Allison, seemingly oblivious to the principal's words, flashed a shy smile at Scott and playfully tousled his hair with her gentle touch. “Save me a seat at lunch?” she asked. he replied with a light nod, “Yeah.”
As Allison made her way to class, he watched her turn and start walking in the opposite direction towards his own destination. While he strolled down the hallway, he couldn't help but notice the faint sounds of a locker door creaking, which caught his attention when he reached the junction between the two halls. Jackson let out a frustrated groan as he shifted his attention towards his teammate, who was watching him with an intense gaze that only served to irritate him further. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't manage to get the locker shut, which only added to his mounting frustration. With a dismissive huff, he turned his cold blue eyes back to Scott. “What are you looking at, asswipe? A deep growl escaped his lips as his face flushed crimson with anger. Scott's guilty yet amused expression perfectly contrasted Jackson's furious countenance before he spun around and made his way to his class, feeling a sense of relief lifting the burden from his weary shoulders.
“I'm being serious Deaton! This isn’t just an animal. These killings aren’t just an animal going after prey. This beast went after the driver on purpose.” Blood trickled down her fingertips as she anxiously chewed on the torn skin around her nails. Her phone was tightly gripped in her other hand as she spoke worriedly to her friend. With each passing moment, she feared that her grip would cause the device to shatter into fragments. Despite the comforting words from Deaton, the caring veterinarian, she couldn't shake off the feeling of impending danger. “(Y/N) Please try not to panic yourself about this. Just because you are close by does not mean it knows you are here.” The calming voice was helping. “I know but how do you know.” She cried.
Derek strolled aimlessly through the supermarket, struggling to hold onto his bulging shopping bag. The chaos of his morning had taken an unexpected turn with the news of the attack. Although he was aware of what had occurred, it wasn't the kind of situation one would typically report to the authorities. As he stepped out of the now bustling store, the warm rays of the morning sun caressed his face, and his senses were immediately captivated by a familiar aroma. It was unmistakably (Y/N)'s blood that wafted through the air, emanating from across the street where she passionately vented her frustrations on the phone. Derek was deeply concerned when he noticed that her fingers were gnawed down to her hand. The sight of her stress and fear unsettled him, as he wanted nothing more than for her to be content and at ease, especially since he was looking forward to his date. “I'll see you later Deaton I’m gonna get some things for tonight then I'll be right there.” With a resolute gaze, she ended the call and embarked on a purposeful journey through the store. Clutching the assortment of items, she had gathered, he observed her peculiar selection at the checkout counter. It was a curious mix of cleaning chemicals that should never be combined, alongside mason jars and garden compost bins.
Exiting the supermarket, she tightly held her phone and scrolled through her contacts until she found Melissa's number. With a quick tap, she initiated the call. Placing her shopping bags on top of her parked car, she couldn't help but smile as she heard her friend's voice on the other end. Meanwhile, Derek observed the woman, eavesdropping on the conversation that followed. “hey Mel, quick and weird question.” She giggled nervously, “Do you happen to know any hunters in town or nearby?” As soon as the word "hunter" reached Derek's ears, his heart dropped and anxiety washed over him, causing his body to perspire profusely. “I need some animal bones for some new jewellery pieces…” A faint flutter in her chest betrayed a small untruth escaping her mouth. Derek briskly strode along the street, his worst fears becoming a reality. He was certain she had discovered his secret, perhaps even aware of Scott's involvement. The timing of her arrival in town on the same night as the Argents and her sudden interest in Hunters seemed too coincidental. The idea of his wolf forming a bond with a hunter was unsettling. However, he reminded himself not to jump to conclusions just yet. Perhaps her inquiry about jewellery was genuine, and he was being too quick to judge her. Taking some time to reflect might provide clarity. The question remained, though - would his wolf be willing to let her go?
“Maybe it was my blood on the door...” he mumbled in his seat. The chemistry classroom bustling with students, engrossed in discussing the bus attack. Stiles found himself seated in the second row from the back, sharing a two-person desk, while Scott occupied the desk directly in front, hindering their conversation. “Could have been animal blood.” stiles argued With a nonchalant shrug, Stiles motioned towards the pencil he held in his mole-decorated hand. back. Suddenly, silence fell upon them as their teacher, Mr. Harris, strode over to his desk, instilling fear in everyone. “You know, maybe you caught a rabbit or something?” A look of sheer disbelief crossed his face as he heard the theory, leaving him visibly shocked. “And did what?” Mr. Harris continued writing notes on the chalkboard, as a beaker filled with clear liquid bubbled on a stand above a Bunsen burner. Upon hearing Stiles' voice, the teacher couldn't help but roll his eyes. “Ate it.” stiles finished. With a dismissive snort, the buzzcut teen shot Scott a pointed glare and retorted in a tone dripping with sarcasm. “No, you stopped to bake it in a little Werewolf oven! I don't know, you're the one who can't remember anything.”  The young wolf's offence lingered, yet both he and the other person failed to realize that their intimidating teacher had been observing their conversation. With a stern expression and hands on his hips, Mr. Harris couldn't hold back any longer and interjected in a snide tone, interrupting their discussion.
“Mr. Stilinski, if that's your idea of a hushed whisper, you might want to pull the headphones out every once in a while. I think you and Mr. McCall would benefit from a little distance, yes?” Harris, with a serious expression, locked eyes with secret werewolf and motioned towards the front of the classroom, indicating that he wanted Scott to relocate. He then repeated the gesture with Stiles, choosing a seat in the back but on the opposite side of where he was sitting. The duo let out frustrated sighs and begrudgingly gathered their books and papers, obediently making their way to their assigned desks. “Let me know if the separation anxiety gets to be too much.” As the fluffy-haired boy took his seat at the desk, he noticed another student sitting beside him who appeared unfazed by the two’s mischievous behaviour. However, after a while, Scott's intuition kicked in and he felt a strange vibe. When he glanced back, he caught Jackson's intense gaze fixed upon him, clearly indicating that his captain was still determined to uncover his secret. Stiles' new desk partner glanced at the window and became instantly captivated by the commotion outside. Without hesitation, she sprang to her feet and hurried over to the window, eager to catch a closer glimpse in a flash. “Hey! I think they found something!”
The rest of the students, craving a diversion, leapt up and rushed towards the windows to join her. In the parking lot, an ambulance sat at a corner, its lights flashing and sirens blaring. Two paramedics swiftly pushed a stretcher carrying a middle-aged man towards the open doors at the back of the ambulance. Scott, filled with dread and convinced of the man's demise, glanced at his friend, who had come over to stand beside him. “That's not a rabbit...”  Just as the paramedics were preparing to load the stretcher into the ambulance, an unexpected twist occurred. The man, who was previously lying down, swiftly sat up and tightly gripped the shoulders of the paramedics standing beside him. Fear consumed him, causing him to unleash a piercing scream that echoed through the air. “AHHHHH!” Startled by a sudden movement and a piercing scream, the students inside couldn't help but flinch. Overwhelmed, he retreated from the windows and positioned himself in the centre of the room. Sensing his distress, Stiles approached him, offering solace and support. “Okay. This is good. This is good! He got up, he's not dead. Dead guys can't do that.” A wave of despair washed over Scott as they received confirmation that someone had been gravely injured during the events of the previous night. Their face twisted with anguish, burdened by an overwhelming sense of guilt. “Stiles, I did that.”

Once chemistry had finished and lunch began, the duo abandoned the bustling lunch line, making their way towards an unoccupied table with their trays of food. Stiles leaned in close to his friend, his voice hushed but still audible. “But dreams aren't memories.” Scott placed his tray on the table, carefully setting down his backpack on the chair beside him. Stiles followed suit, mirroring his friend's actions. “Then it wasn't a dream...” Seated opposite each other, they carried on with their conversation, their words flowing nervously. “Something happened last night, and I can't remember what.”
“What makes you so sure that Derek even has all the answers?” Scott shot Stiles a fearful glance, his eyes darting anxiously as he cautiously resumed his train of thought, speaking in hushed tones about the mysterious older wolf. “During my transformation, he wasn't changed. He was in total control while I was running around in the middle of the night, attacking some totally innocent guy.” Stiles let out a heavy sigh, reluctant to accept the truth of his own words. “You don't know that.” Scott remained unconvinced by the words of his closest companion. “I don't not know it.” he hesitated, nibbling on his lip as he pondered for a brief moment before letting out a sigh of resignation. “I can't go out with Allison. I have to cancel.”
“No, you're not cancelling, okay? You can't just cancel your entire life! We'll figure it out.” suddenly, Lydia emerged from behind the werewolf, her gaze filled with curiosity as she forcefully placed her lunch tray on the table to Scott's left, capturing their attention. Her vibrant strawberry-blonde hair gracefully danced past her shoulders, adding to her captivating presence. “Figure out what?” she asked her voice dripping with a fake perkiness. Stiles was taken aback when his crush suddenly appeared, especially since she decided to sit next to them during lunch. This unexpected encounter made Stiles stumble over their words, feeling nervous and flustered. “Just, uh, homework...” Scott finished for him.
As Lydia's attention was momentarily diverted by a passerby, Stiles took the opportunity to lean in closer and share a hushed conversation with his sun-kissed companion. “Why is she sitting with us?” Scott stared in astonishment at Stiles and nonchalantly shrugged, conveying his ignorance with a simple gesture. In a sudden turn of events, additional individuals began to settle at their respective tables. A prominent member of the lacrosse team confidently claimed the seat at the head of the table, while Danny positioned himself on Stiles' right side. Scott glanced over and noticed Allison gracefully taking her place on his right, prompting a warm smile to grace his face as he swiftly shifted his backpack to make room for her. “Thanks!” Stiles found amusement in the arrival of another girl who took a seat beside him, prompting her to playfully roll her eyes. However, his annoyance was evident as he glanced at Scott, realizing their brainstorming session had been interrupted by the popular kids. In an attempt to avoid the situation, he unintentionally made eye contact with Danny, a fellow lacrosse team member, who responded with an eye roll, as if Stiles was the most tiresome thing, he had encountered all day, which might actually be true. “Get up.” Adding to the complexity of the unfortunate pair, Jackson approached the table and positioned himself next to the unidentified man. With an intense stare, he promptly instructed the man to vacate the premises. “How come you never ask Danny to get up?” the team member asked as he took himself out of the chair. “Because I don't stare at his girlfriend's coin slot,” Danny argued reminding the table of his interest in men instead of women.
With a forceful push, Jackson cleared the path and swiftly claimed his seat, leaving Scott with a disapproving frown as he witnessed Jackson's impolite behaviour. However, before any words could be exchanged between them, Danny interjected and initiated a fresh conversation. “So, I hear they're saying it's some type of animal attack. Probably a cougar.” The rude blonde finished shovelling his lunch into his mouth before replying smugly. “I heard mountain lion.” Lydia's gaze fixed on her tray as she broke the silence with an irritated tone. "a cougar is a mountain lion." Jackson and Danny exchanged puzzled glances, taken aback by her unexpected response. Lydia, suddenly aware of the impression she was giving, attempted to backtrack, causing her confidence to waver and her facade to crumble. “...Isn't it?” With a single raised eyebrow and a dismissive scoff, Jackson gulped down his bite, his eyebrow furrowing with scepticism. “Who cares? The guy's probably some homeless tweaker who's gonna die anyway.” Stiles, engrossed in his phone as he delved into the details of the case, abruptly interjected as new information flooded in. “Actually, I just found out who it is. Check it out.” The teenager swiftly grabbed his phone, his captivating brown eyes drawing everyone's attention. He played a video, tilting the phone to share the captivating content with the rest of the group. The video, taken from the local news website, showcased a reporter passionately narrating the latest news story.
“The Sheriff's department won't speculate on details of the incident but confirmed the victim, Garrison Myers, did survive the attack. Myers was taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.”
“Wait, I-I-I know this guy.” Scott's breath caught in his throat as he realized the identity of the man labelled as the victim. “You do?” With a nervous stutter, Alison prayed that the injured man held no significance in her crush's life. “Yeah, when I used to take the bus, back when I lived with my dad. He was the driver.” A knowing glance passed between Scott and Stiles, just as the popular girl interjected with a tone that oozed both boredom and irritation. “Can we talk about something slightly more fun, please? Like...” Lydia's eyes widened in astonishment as a brilliant idea struck her. Without wasting a moment, she swiftly shifted her attention towards the new girl, completely disregarding Scott who was seated right in the middle of them. “Oh, where are we going tomorrow night?”
Confusion clouded Allison and Scott's faces, revealing their complete lack of understanding. Sensing their bewilderment, Lydia stepped in to provide a clear explanation. “You said you and Scott were hanging out tomorrow, right?” the brunette eyebrows shot up in surprise as she anxiously swallowed, fully aware of Lydia's impending actions. Desperately, she attempted to act nonchalant, hoping that Lydia would refrain from getting involved. “Um, we were thinking of what we were gonna do...” With a remorseful glance, Allison acknowledged her crush, fully aware that Lydia was on the verge of inserting herself and her nasty boyfriend into their plans. Stiles, too, had a sudden realization, evident from the widening of his eyes. As expected, Lydia wasted no time in doing exactly what they had anticipated. “Well, I am not sitting home again, watching lacrosse videos, so if the four of us are hanging out, we are doing something fun.” Scott stood frozen in disbelief as the unexpected turn of events left him utterly speechless.
“H-H-Hanging out? Like, the four of us?” Allison skilfully masked her frustration as their plans were abruptly interrupted, taking a discreet sip from her water bottle while Scott looked on. “Do you wanna hang out?” Reluctantly, Scott managed to utter the remaining words, visibly despising the concept. Sensing the impending catastrophe, Stiles quickly placed his hand over his mouth to refrain from interrupting. Allison, equally unenthusiastic about the idea as Scott, didn't want to offend her new acquaintance and cautiously responded. “Yeah! ...I guess... Sounds fun...”
Lydia was the only one thrilled about the double date, evident from the irritated look on Jackson's face. He made his frustration known by dramatically lifting his fork in the air. “You know what else sounds fun? Stabbing myself in the face with this fork.” Frustrated by his impoliteness, his girlfriend snatched the fork from his grasp, while Stiles, casually sipping from his water bottle, rolled his eyes and gestured animatedly, disapproving of his friend being insulted in such a manner. “How 'bout bowling? You love to bowl.” Unfazed by the captain’s remarks, Lydia brushed them off and carried on with their date preparations as if he hadn't uttered a word. “Yeah, with actual competition.” Allison couldn't help but feel offended for both her and Scott, so she decided to speak up. She made sure to maintain a friendly and competitive tone in her voice, wanting to address the situation differently. “How do you know we're not "actual competition? You can bowl, right?” Scott's desperate desire to avoid being outshined by Jackson or feeling any more inadequate than he already did led him to resort to blatant lies, spoken with all the conviction of a human being. “yeah… In fact, I'm a great bowler.”
As the young wolf pedalled his bike to the animal clinic, he propped it against the brick building and hurriedly entered. Inside, Alan was already in the exam room when Scott arrived, and without wasting a moment, Scott began apologizing for being late. “Sorry, sorry...” he repeated. While busy unpacking boxes on a metal table, Deaton couldn't resist playfully rolling his eyes at the tanned boy, who had a bright smile that lit up the room. “You're all of two minutes late.” In the corner of the room, Scott gently placed his bag on the floor. “I just don't want you to think I'm slacking...” Deaton smiled and scoffed at him in amusement “Scott, I guarantee you, you're one of the least slacking kids in this town. Besides if I needed help (Y/N)s in her office still.” Just as if it were planned, the office door swung open and then closed, revealing the room's owner entering with a cheerful smile and a stack of books in hand. “evening Scott. How was school?” With a simple question, she managed to bring a wide grin of delight to the teenage boy's face, as he basked in the warmth of her presence. “okay for school I guess glad it's over for the day.” With a light giggle, she delicately placed the books on the desk behind the men before swiftly turning back around. “all my friends in New Orleans used to say that school can’t be that bad right?” With a tilt of his head, Scott directed his gaze towards her, his brown eyes filled with confusion. “were you home-schooled?” Curiosity piqued; he inquired about the intriguing young woman who had become the sole topic of conversation for his mother. “I guess you could call it that.” She squeaked turning back round to her books. “Also, before I forget. I'm missing one of my cryptid books has anyone seen it?” Scott's gaze shifted towards the goth woman, who wore a pained expression on her face as she mourned the loss of one of her beloved books. “no sorry I’ll keep an eye out for it.” he promised.
As Scott was organizing things on a back table, he glanced over and spotted Sheriff Stilinski standing by the exam room door, his expression stern and serious. Instantly, a wave of anxiety washed over the teenager, fearing that the officer had discovered his attempt to harm Garrison Myers and had come to apprehend him. Panic set in, causing Scott to gulp nervously. However, to his surprise, Stilinski simply opened the door, his face transforming into a smile as he revealed that he had brought one of the K-9-unit dogs for a routine check-up. His boss confirmed this with a welcoming gesture, putting Scott's worries to rest. “Hey! I see somebody's ready to get their stitches out!” With a joyful expression, (Y/N) gently caressed the pooch, her talon-like nails providing a unique sensation. She showered the dog with affection, allowing it to shower her face with kisses, treating it like a cherished baby.
Deaton hunched down and gently tapped his knees, coaxing the dog to sit obediently, as Stilinski removed his sunglasses and approached the hidden creature with a warm greeting. “Hey there, Scott. You staying out of trouble?” he asked pointing towards the young wolf with a smirk. Stilinski's sudden arrival left him completely surprised. He observed as Deaton gently lifted the German Shepherd, its leg carefully bandaged, and placed it on the table. Lost in his thoughts, he suddenly realized he had been asked a question and responded with a simple nod. “how are you (Y/N)?” With her cheeks covered in dog slobber, he redirected his attention towards (Y/N) and watched as she wiped it away. “better now I've had puppy kisses.” She joked.
Luckily, Noah was too preoccupied with Deaton's evaluation of the dog to pick up on Scott's anxious behaviour. Without a second thought, the man of law shifted his attention towards discussing work with the veterinarian. “Hey, listen, While I'm here, you mind taking a look at those pictures I was telling you about?” Noah extended the brown file to Deaton, gesturing for him to open it. The label on the envelope, marked as evidence, sent a shiver down Scott's spine. “Sacramento still can't determine an animal.” With a hint of uncertainty in his voice, Deaton accepted the envelope and eagerly tore it open, revealing a stack of photographs. As he carefully flipped them upright, his curiosity grew, compelling him to delve into each image. Meanwhile, (Y/N) stared intently at the photos, fully aware of the underlying truth, yet apprehensive about the potential peril that awaited her if she were to disclose it to the sheriff. In a silent exchange, the two workers acknowledged their shared understanding of the situation at hand. “I'm not exactly an expert... Oh, this is the guy who was attacked on the bus?” Deaton asked. “Yeah. And, we found wolf hairs on Laura’s body.”
“A wolf?” the sheriff’s eyebrows shot up in surprise as he caught Scott's attention. He turned to face him, only to see Scott's panicked expression, realizing he had unintentionally drawn attention to himself and his potential involvement. “I mean, I think I read somewhere that wolves haven't been in California for, like, sixty years...”  Alan, noticing his employee’s reaction, looked up at him with a curious expression, as if he possessed knowledge that Scott was unaware of. “True enough, but wolves are highly migratory. They could have wandered in from another state, driven by impulse or strong enough memory.” (Y/N) informed Scott shocking him with her knowledge. (Y/N) stared directly into the image, envisioning herself being harmed by the creature. She couldn't help but wonder if Beacon Hills was truly the safest place for her. “Wolves have memories?”
“Longer-term memories, yes-- if associated with a primal drive. See this one here?” Stilinski and Scott eagerly leaned in as the vet once again presented the photos. This time, it was a different picture of Myers, lying on a hospital bed. The focus of the image was on his face, revealing deep claw marks that ran vertically from his brow, down the side of his face, past his temple, and onto his cheek. Another set of marks followed the same direction, starting from under his eye and ending at his mouth. Additionally, there was a third gash on the side of his neck, cutting diagonally from under his ear towards his Adam's apple. Noah nodded, acknowledging that he understood what Deaton was trying to convey. “Those are claw marks. A wolf would have gone for the throat or the spinal cord with its teeth. A wolf could chase down its prey, hobbling it by tearing at the ankles and then the throat...” (Y/N) nodded her head lightly agreeing with Alan’s explanation.
In a sudden rush of memories, Scott relived the previous night when he had completely transformed into a fearsome Werewolf. He vividly remembered how he had reached out and caught hold of Allison's ankle, preventing her from escaping down the aisle towards the bus exit. With a powerful tug, he pulled her back towards him, causing her to scream in terror, mirroring the haunting wounds captured in the photographs before him.
As Scott finished his work for the day, a sense of relief washed over him. He had been working tirelessly, juggling multiple projects, and finally, he could take a break. However, his mind was preoccupied with thoughts of his mother, who had been working at Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital all day long. Determined to ‘check’ on her and offer some much-needed food, Scott made his way towards the hospital. Little did he know that fate had something unexpected in store for him. As he stepped out of the building, he noticed a familiar figure leaning against a vintage car parked nearby smoking an odd-smelling cigarette. It seemed to be a mixture of sage and something else, but he couldn’t figure out the other smell. "Hey, Scott," (Y/N) greeted him, her voice filled with genuine concern. “I was always heading to the hospital to speak to your mum. Do you want a ride?" she asked stomping her large platform Dr. Martens on the remains of the ciggy. Scott's eyes widened in surprise and gratitude. He hadn't expected anyone to offer him a ride, let alone (Y/N) in her classic car. It was a beautiful vehicle, a symbol of nostalgia and elegance, just like (Y/N) herself. Without hesitation, he nodded, accepting her kind offer. As they made their way towards the car, Scott noticed several boxes neatly stacked in the backseat. Curiosity piqued, he couldn't help but ask, "What's with all the boxes?" he asked hearing the engine start-up. “oh, it's just some stuff for home. gardening stuff and some cat litter.”
The car ride was filled with an air of silence between the two colleagues, with soft music playing in the background. The tunes were a blend of rock and roll and classic hits from the 70s and 80s, unfamiliar to him. However, their journey came to a halt as they approached the hospital, causing her to decelerate and find a parking spot.
As they strolled towards the nurse's station in the ER, both of them wore bright smiles. His mother, who was busy working, couldn't help but burst into laughter when she caught sight of him. Her smile grew even wider when she noticed (Y/N) standing right beside him. “Is my beautiful, talented, and wonderful son actually bringing me dinner and my favourite adopted daughter.” Leaning against the desk, Scott's smile widened as he observed the other nurses recoil in disgust, their eyes burning with fury. Their collective gaze fixated on (Y/N) as if she had just committed an unforgivable act. Sensing their judgment, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel her body tense up with nervousness, causing her to curl inwards. “Thought you wouldn't mind skipping the cafeteria tonight...” he muttered trying to distract himself from the nurses. “You are the most thoughtful, loving...Most conniving little con artist ever.” Unable to contain her amusement, (Y/N) burst into laughter at the sight of his mother's knowing grin. In an instant, his clever scheme crumbled to pieces. “You are so not getting the car tomorrow night. There's a curfew no car.” She sighed placing the bag of food down on the counter before pulling (Y/N) into a tight hug. “so, I was thinking girls night?”
Scott was on the verge of departing through the same route he had entered but abruptly halted as he detected a familiar fragrance, compelling him to reverse his steps. He trailed the scent beyond the nurse's station and down the corridor until he reached the very end, where he discovered the room where Garrison Myers had been admitted. Swiftly and discreetly, he entered the room, ensuring no one caught sight of him. Scott hesitantly drew back the curtain that divided the room, revealing Myers peacefully lying in bed, his eyes shut tight in slumber. The sight of his former bus driver, with his head swathed in bandages and his body marked by wounds, sent a wave of shame and horror crashing over Scott. A clear sign of the severity of the attack, Myers had an IV in his right arm and was receiving oxygen through a nasal cannula. In a hushed tone, he finally found the courage to speak up. “Mr. Myers...? are you okay?” In a matter of seconds, a flicker of recognition crossed his face as he locked eyes with Scott, triggering a sudden surge of panic. His mouth opened, but instead of words, only gasps escaped as he desperately attempted to prop himself up. Frantically, he clutched onto Scott's sleeve, yanking him closer, his distress amplifying with each passing moment. he struggled to break free from his grip, but the situation escalated rapidly as Myers unleashed piercing screams, prompting Melissa to rush into the room. “What the hell are you doing in here? Get out now!”
(Y/N) whisked him away from the hospital and escorted him back to his residence, determined to protect him from any potential harm. "In case of any trouble, he can always rely on me since his mother is extremely concerned," she assured, her voice filled with genuine care and concern. As they manoeuvred into his driveway, Scott let out a deep sigh, feeling the heavy burden of concealing his werewolf identity taking its toll on him.
The weight of his secret was suffocating, and he longed for someone to confide in, someone who could understand the struggles he faced. But the fear of rejection and the potential danger it could bring to his loved ones kept him silent. He knew that revealing his true nature could put not only himself but also those around him in grave danger. If he had it, his way Stiles wouldn’t know either. He worried every day his best friend would get harmed because of him. "I can't confide in anyone," he uttered, his voice laced with frustration and sadness. The weight of his words hung heavily in the air as he slammed the car door, the sound of shattering glass echoing his inner turmoil. The shattered window served as a physical representation of the shattered trust and isolation he felt.
(Y/N) watched him with a mix of sympathy and understanding, her heart aching for the young man who carried such a heavy burden. She muttered under her breath, "Teenagers these days," a small hint of a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. She knew all too well the struggles of adolescence and the challenges of keeping secrets. With a final glance at Scott's residence, she drove off to her own abode, her mind filled with thoughts of how she could support him and help him navigate the treacherous path he walked. She knew that being there for him, even if he couldn't confide in her, was a small but significant way to offer him solace and support.
As the car disappeared into the distance, Scott stood in his driveway, the weight of his secret still heavy on his shoulders. But in that moment, he felt a glimmer of hope, knowing that he had someone in his corner, someone who cared enough to whisk him away from the hospital and offer him a safe haven. And perhaps, in time, he would find the strength to confide in someone, to share the burden that threatened to consume him.

Thursday, September 21st
The deputy parked his cruiser near the Hale House ruins and stepped out, taking a moment to survey the surroundings. After a quick visual scan, he reached for his radio and made a call to dispatch. “It looks pretty deserted, dispatch. Did you want me to take a look inside?”
“Unit Sixteen, it's county property. Orders are to make sure it's vacant.” Standing amidst the desolation of the Hale House, the deputy couldn't hide his unease. And he was right to be uncomfortable because he was being watched. “I don't... I don't think anyone's home.” Derek, still a  prime suspect in the murder investigation, had taken refuge in the deserted house. His gaze fixated on the officer, his mind racing with anticipation. “For the love of God, Sixteen, go inside and see if anyone's there!” Irritated, the deputy let out a frustrated sigh as he cautiously approached the house. Yet, as soon as he took a step forward, the K-9-unit dog in the backseat erupted into a frenzy of barks, intensifying the deputy's unease. Startled by the sudden noise, he swiftly turned to reprimand the dog. “Don't do that!”
As the deputy approached the house, he couldn't spot Derek standing just behind the window on the second floor due to his angle. Derek, peering outside through the shattered glass, caught a glimpse of the deputy. With his piercing blue Werewolf eyes, he unnerved the dog, causing it to bark louder and more anxiously. It was evident that Derek's presence had intimidated the canine, establishing his dominance in the hierarchy. As the dog's panic escalated, its saliva sprayed across the partially open window, leaving the deputy feeling increasingly unsettled. Determined to uncover the cause of the dog's distress, the deputy searched for any signs of what was alarming it. The dog's anxiety intensified, prompting it to thrust its head out of the rear window. Convinced that he had thoroughly investigated the situation, the deputy reluctantly returned to the car, offering comforting words to the agitated canine. “Okay, I'm coming, I'm coming...”
As the deputy settled into the driver's seat and started the car, the persistent barking of the dog persisted. Derek, who had been observing from a distance, couldn't help but feel a sense of relief and satisfaction as he realized he had successfully avoided being caught squatting in his own home. Just as the car disappeared from view, Derek's attention was drawn to the sound of approaching footsteps. He turned to see Scott emerging from the woods that marked the boundary of the Hale property. The teenager hesitated, his anxiety causing him to fidget from one foot to the other while Derek remained hidden from view. Eventually, Scott grew impatient and took the initiative to break the silence and speak his mind. ”I know you can hear me. I need your help.”
As the rain began to pour, Scott sought shelter on the porch. Finally, Derek emerged from the house, but his silence and blank stare made it clear that Scott would need to put in more effort to get his help. With a sigh, he prepared to persevere. “Okay, I know I was part of you getting arrested... and that we basically announced you being here to the Hunters... I also don't know what happened to your sister...” Scott's words poured out incessantly, but Derek remained stoic, his gaze fixed on Scott without revealing any emotion. “But I think I did something last night. I had a dream about...” he paused briefly, reluctant to reveal his ongoing connection with Allison, but ultimately chose to maintain a guarded demeanour. “Someone... but someone else got hurt. And, it turns out that part of the dream might have actually happened-“
“You think you attacked the driver?” Derek interrupted his green eyes empty of any emotion towards the boy. Scott's demeanour shifted to one of disbelief, his expression mirroring his incredulity. “Did you see what I did last night?” It was clear that he suspected Derek of withholding information as if Derek possessed a deeper understanding of the situation than he was willing to reveal. “No.”
“Can you at least tell me the truth? Am I gonna hurt someone?”
“Yes.”
“Could I kill someone?”
“Yes”
“Am I gonna kill someone?”
“Probably”
Scott's face contorted with the weight of his emotions, teetering on the edge of tears, as he slowly made his way towards the edge of the porch. He deliberately kept his back turned to Derek, unable to face the reality of becoming a killer. Observing his struggle, Derek let out a weary sigh, eventually succumbing to a wave of compassion for his wolf brother. “Look, I can show you how to remember. I can show you how to control the shift, even on a full moon. But it's not gonna come for free.” Scott's spirits were low, leaving him unable to muster the energy to engage in an argument. Moreover, he found himself unable to meet Derek's gaze, adding to his despondency. “What do you want?”
“You'll find out.” In a momentary pause, Derek collected his thoughts, while Scott's eyes remained locked on the front of the house. “But, for now, I'm gonna give you what you want.” Without turning his body towards Derek, Scott subtly shifted his gaze to catch a glimpse of him from the corner of his orbs. “Go back to the bus. Go inside. See it. Feel it. Let your senses-- your sight, smell, touch. let them remember for you.” Confusion and disbelief etched deep lines on Scott's forehead as he tried to make sense of the situation before him. “That's it? Just-just go back?” With a curious gaze, Derek fixed his eyes on the young wolf. “Do you want to know what happened?” With a vulnerable expression, Scott finally mustered the courage to meet Derek's gaze. “I just want to know if I hurt him.” Derek had an uncanny ability to understand Scott's deepest fears. It was as if he could sense the very same fear that had haunted him years ago. And now, history was repeating itself as Scott found himself terrified of the very same thing. With a knowing glance, Derek confronted him about it, making it clear that he had noticed. ” No, you don't. you want to know if you'll hurt her.”
As darkness enveloped the surroundings, Scott and Stiles arrived at the school in Stiles' trusty Jeep, opting for a secluded route near the woods. Stepping out of the car, Scott motioned for his friend to stay behind, cautioning him to remain at a safe distance. “Hey, no, just me. Someone needs to keep watch.” He spoke sternly scolding the driver like a dog. “How come I'm always the guy keeping watch?” Ignoring Stiles, the werewolf swiftly intervened as he witnessed his friend attempting to scale the chain-link fence separating the parking area from the school bus bay, firmly grasping his shoulder and preventing him from proceeding further. “Because there's only two of us!” With a sudden step back, Stiles descended to the ground level, his finger pointing directly at Scott, his voice filled with accusation. “Okay, why's it starting to feel like you're Batman and I'm Robin?” As Scott cast a frustrated glance his way, Stiles couldn't help but scoff once more, unimpressed by the situation. “I don't want to be Robin all the time!” Scott, feeling just as exasperated, fired back with a response of his own. “Nobody's Batman and Robin any of the time!” Stiles felt a mix of offence and disappointment as the argument came to a close. “Not even some of the time?” With a heavy sigh, Scott issued his last command, his voice filled with authority. “Just stay here.” Stiles let out an exasperated sigh, as if Scott were his father, constantly dictating his every move. “Oh, my God! Fine.”
Stiles made his way back to the Jeep while Scott effortlessly scaled the chain-link fence. As he approached the buses, a wave of unease washed over him, his apprehension evident. It was clear that he was terrified of what awaited him, yet he understood the importance of facing the truth head-on. Pausing briefly, he halted his actions, shut his eyes, and inhaled deeply, seeking solace in his senses, longing for his body to aid in recollecting what his mind had failed to retain. In an instant, a torrent of memories from the previous night flooded his consciousness, engulfing him completely.
The schoolboy found himself lying in bed, his body covered only by his boxers. The distant sound of a wolf's howl pierced through the silence, causing him to grip the blankets tightly before rolling over to the opposite side. As the howling persisted, Scott's restlessness grew, causing him to toss and turn, his face and chest drenched in sweat. Eventually, the mounting tension within him reached its breaking point, and Scott abruptly woke up, his eyes gleaming with a golden hue and his fangs ominously extended.
Scott's eyes snapped open, a jolt of surprise coursing through him. He took a deep breath, desperately trying to regain his composure. As he unclenched his fists, he steeled himself for the next step, his curiosity mingling with fear. Ignoring the crime scene tape, he made his way towards the bus, his determination unwavering. Pausing momentarily, he prepared himself mentally before reaching out to touch the door. Suddenly, a vivid image from his dream last night overwhelmed him, leaving him momentarily stunned.
In his complete Werewolf transformation, Scott forcefully pushed Allison, causing her to collide with the door. The sight of her bloodied forehead and cheek, visible through the glass, sent shivers down her spine as she let out a piercing scream of terror.
The tanned boy stood there, gasping for air, feeling completely overwhelmed by the situation. He hesitated for a moment, gathering his courage before finally reaching out to open the folding door of the bus. Step by step, he ascended the stairs, his movements slow and deliberate. As he reached the top, he turned around, his gaze sweeping down the aisle, taking in the entire length of the bus. Seeking support, he clutched onto the back of a nearby seat, only to be struck by a sudden flashback from his dream, leaving him breathless.
With a complete transformation, Scott swiftly seized the brown brown-haired girl's ankle and forcefully pulled her towards the rear of the bus, causing her to scream in terror.
Scott's heart raced with horror as he found himself trapped in a relentless cycle of shifting between reality and his haunting dream, only to discover that even his dream was plagued by the unsettling echoes of what truly occurred.
With a relentless grip, the creature resembling Scott kept dragging Allison down the aisle, her cries echoing through the air. In the midst of Allison's piercing scream, another scream echoed through the air, this time from a man. The scene shifted in memory, replaying the same intense moment, but this time it was Garrison Myers who found himself being forcefully dragged by his ankle, not Allison.
Scott's face twisted in disbelief as the full sequence of events from the previous night unravelled in his mind. The realization that he had brutally killed Garrison Myers hit him like a ton of bricks, leaving him horrified. He released his grip on the seat and proceeded to walk down the aisle, his steps slow and heavy. The sight of blood-splattered seats ahead only intensified his shock.
In Scott's mind, he revisited his dream, reliving the moment when he underwent a complete transformation. With immense strength, he tore out a seat from the back of the bus and hurled it in the direction of his crush, who desperately sought an escape through the front door.
The teenager was overwhelmed by the intensity of the flashback, causing him to instinctively shield his face with his hands and flinch as if the seat were actually hurtling towards him. He let out a gasp, his breaths coming in short bursts as he struggled to regain composure. Gradually, he realized that it was merely a flashback and slowly lowered his arms, his heart still racing. With a cautious step, he began to walk down the aisle, his eyes darting around to absorb every visual detail, from the mist forming on the windows to the stains of blood on the seats. As he glanced down at the floor, he was abruptly pulled back into another flashback, this time reliving the actual events that had taken place.
Mr. Myers found himself sprawled on the floor of the bus; his body positioned in an unconventional manner. His head pointed towards the front while his feet stretched towards the back. Desperately clutching onto the bar securing the nearby seat, he extended his right hand towards Scott, pleading for assistance, his cries echoing through the air. As the true sequence of events unfolded, Scott extended his hand towards Myers, desperately hoping to offer him assistance while he cried out in distress.
The brown-eyed wolf's gaze lifted, only to meet the terrifying sight of the monstrous Werewolf that had inflicted the bite on him. With a menacing growl, the creature raised its clawed hand high in the air before swiftly slashing at Scott's chest, leaving a deep gash. Scott let out a sharp breath, his hand instinctively reaching for his chest as if to halt the flow of blood. It took him a moment to realize that the pain he felt was a lingering reminder from the previous evening's injury and not a fresh wound.
The robin of the group sat in the driver's seat of his Jeep outside the chain-link fence, nervously rubbing his head and leaning on his left hand. With (Y/N)'s book in his lap, he noticed headlights flashing across the parking lot. Without hesitation, he honked the horn loudly to alert Scott, realizing they had to leave quickly to avoid being caught.
The werewolf, his mind reeling from the shocking revelation, realized that he wasn't the one responsible for the attack. Instead, he had been trying to shield Myers from the true assailant. Doubtful, he glanced down at his chest once more to ensure he hadn't sustained any injuries. Suddenly, the blaring sound of a honking horn startled him, causing him to jump in surprise. In a frenzy, he spun around and sprinted down the bus aisle, swiftly exiting through the front door and effortlessly leaping over the crime scene tape. Using a red SUV as his launching pad, he gracefully flipped over the chain-link fence, resembling a nimble gymnast. As he landed, he executed a graceful somersault before dashing towards Stiles' Jeep. Inside, his human friend anxiously drummed his hands on the steering wheel while muttering to himself. “Come on! Come on!” stiles mumbled.
As Stiles inserted his key into the ignition, Scott swiftly flung open the passenger door and hopped in, his voice filled with urgency as he commanded Stiles to flee the scene immediately. “Go! Go! Go! Go!” With a forceful press on the gas pedal, Stiles sent the car hurtling backwards along the familiar road, only to abruptly slam on the brakes moments later and execute a thrilling spin at the crossroads. “Did it work? Did you remember?” Zooming away from the school, the human glanced at Scott. With his right arm hanging out the window, he tightly clutched the Jeep's roof to secure himself in the seat, as there was no time to fasten his seatbelt. “Yeah, I was there last night. And the blood? A lot of it was mine. I-I-I saw glowing eyes in the bus, but they weren't mine. It was Derek.”
Scott's gaze narrowed, his brow furrowing as he attempted to piece together the fragments of what he had just witnessed. “What about the driver?” the Adderall addict asked. “I think I was actually trying to protect him.” Stiles briefly contemplated the situation, but it didn't take long for him to spot a flaw in Scott's argument, resulting in a disapproving expression on his mole-infested face. “Wait…why would Derek help you remember that he attacked the driver?” Frustration etched on Scott's face as he shook his head, unable to provide a solution. “That's what I don't get.”
“It's gotta be a pack thing.” With a leather-bound book in hand, Stiles caught the wolf's attention as the familiar spine, adorned with moons, made the wolf furrowed his brows. “check the book for me?” stiles asked. “this is (Y/N) why did you steal it?” With a hesitant start, he began flipping through the pages of the book, searching for the vibrant sticky notes that his friend had a reputation for employing excessively. “somethings wrong with her Scott. I've been trying to read this, and every single thing has been correct.” As Scott perused the pages of the book, he couldn't help but notice the dreadful spelling, yet he was captivated by the exquisite illustrations showcasing a variety of wolf eye colours and the enchanting allure of wolfsbane and fangs. “There is no way she doesn’t know werewolves exist. She got to be involved with the hunters.” The two teens slowly looked at each other with worry. “and she’s friends with our parents…” Scott muttered. “don’t worry about it for now. Just go on your date and enjoy the night.” Things couldn’t get worse.

Derek arrived at the gas station in his sleek black Camaro, ready to refuel. As he stepped out of the car, he couldn't help but notice the tranquillity that enveloped the night. The only sounds that broke the silence were the rhythmic blinking lights and the gentle hum of the pump. The gas station, nestled on the outskirts of town, seemed like an oasis of calm amidst the chaos of everyday life. The air was crisp and cool, carrying with it a hint of gasoline and the faint scent of freshly cut grass. The moon hung high in the sky, casting a soft glow over the surroundings, and illuminating the rows of neatly lined fuel pumps.
Derek took a moment to appreciate the stillness, feeling a sense of peace wash over him. It was a rare moment of solitude in a world that never seemed to stop moving. The blinking lights, like tiny stars, seemed to guide him towards the pump, their steady rhythm creating a hypnotic effect. As he reached for the fuel nozzle, he marvelled at the simplicity of the scene. The gentle hum of the pump provided a soothing background melody as if nature itself had composed a symphony for this quiet moment. The sound seemed to blend seamlessly with the distant chirping of crickets, creating a harmonious chorus that echoed through the night.
As he glanced up from refilling his car tank, the sun's rays glinting off the metal, he heard the distinct sound of another vehicle entering the gas station. The familiar rumble of an engine caught his attention, and his heart skipped a beat as he saw the peach-coloured car pulling in. It was a car he recognized all too well, one that belonged to the person he referred to as "Y/N." Without acknowledging his presence, Y/N headed straight to the shop, her steps heavy and burdened. He couldn't help but notice the weariness in her movements, the weight of the world seemingly resting on her shoulders. A wave of sadness emanated from her, palpable even from a distance, causing his heart to ache in empathy.
His attention shifted to her car, parked haphazardly near the gas pump. His eyes widened as he noticed a shattered window, shards of glass glinting in the sunlight. Fear gripped him tightly, squeezing his chest as he considered the possibilities. Had the alpha finally caught her, Or had Scott done something to her, causing this destruction? Anger began to consume him, a fiery rage that clouded his thoughts and fuelled his determination. He clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white as he imagined the pain Y/N must have endured. How dare anyone lay a hand on her, how dare they cause her such distress? The protective instincts within him surged forward, overpowering any rationality that remained.
Without a second thought, he abandoned the gas pump, leaving his own car behind as he stormed towards the shop. The sound of his footsteps echoed in his ears, matching the pounding of his heart. He pushed open the door, the bell above chiming in protest, and his eyes locked on Y/N, who stood near the counter, her face etched with a mixture of exhaustion and vulnerability. His voice, laced with a controlled fury, cut through the air, demanding answers. "What happened, Y/N? Who did this to you?" His words hung heavy in the tense atmosphere, his gaze never leaving her as he awaited her response. With a smile directed at the cashier, she made her purchase of a lighter, rolling papers, and a petite bottle of vodka, trying hard to ignore the male behind her.
The ebony-haired man’s heart sank as he watched (Y/N) walk away, the silence echoing in his wolf ears. He stood there, clutching his jacket, feeling the weight of his mistakes. He had let her down, not only by standing her up on their date but also by failing to protect her from the unknown vandal. Regret washed over him, and he knew he had to make things right. Desperation consumed Derek as he watched (Y/N) retreat further. He knew he couldn't let her go like this, not when their relationship meant so much to him. With a newfound determination, he sprinted after her, his voice filled with sincerity as he called out her name. "(Y/N), please, just hear me out," Derek pleaded, his voice cracking with emotion. "I know I messed up, and I can't change that, but I need you to understand that I never meant to hurt you. There was a reason I couldn't make it to our date, and I promise it's a good one."
(Y/N) stopped in her tracks, her back still turned to the man she had grown to yearn for. She hesitated for a moment, torn between her pain and the lingering love she felt for him. Slowly, she turned around, her eyes filled with a mix of anger, hurt, and curiosity. “I don’t care. If you really were sorry, you would have texted or called. I heard nothing" she grumbled, her voice dripping with frustration and exhaustion. The weight of their new relationship had become unbearable, and she could no longer pretend to be invested in their once-blossoming love affair. With a heavy sigh, she dropped his black leather jacket into his hands, the cold fabric slipping through her fingers like a lost connection. The jacket, once a symbol of their intertwined lives, now felt foreign and distant, mirroring the growing distance between them. "I just need some space," she stuttered under her breath, as she hopped into her car and sped off leaving a dust cloud in her space.
Derek persisted in refuelling his vehicle, attempting to appear unaffected, but his vigilance was evident as another car approached. The hunters, who had recently encircled him, kept him restrained near the gas pump. Positioned before him was Chris Argent, while two additional hunters leaned casually against the silver SUV behind him. After a brief pause, Derek detached the pump from his gas tank and secured it back in its place, sealing the lid. It was at this moment that Argent chose to initiate their conversation. “nice ride. Black cars through very hard to keep clean.” Argent strolled confidently towards him, gliding his fingers along the sleek surface of Derek's Camaro. With a deliberate gesture, he extended his hand and effortlessly wiped away an imaginary mark on the hood, a clear attempt to unnerve Derek. “I would suggest a little more maintenance.”
Derek observed Argent intently, his face devoid of any emotion, as he approached the gas pump and swiftly picked up the free windshield wiper cleaner and squeegee. With a flick of his wrist, he removed the excess cleaning fluid from it, displaying his efficiency. “If you have something this nice, you want to take care of it, right?” With a mischievous grin, the hunter diligently wiped away the frost from Derek's windshield, all the while maintaining a casual conversation that carried a subtle undertone of menace. “Personally... I'm very protective of the things I love. But that's something I learned from my family. ...And you don't have much of that these days...do you?” Derek's black leather jacket concealed his clenched left hand, catching Argent's attention. The Hunter observed Derek, anticipating a confrontation, but to his surprise, Derek gradually unclenched his fist, revealing his ordinary human nails. Derek managed to keep his inner wolf under control effortlessly. Chris nodded in satisfaction, relieved that the situation didn't escalate, and calmly placed the squeegee back in its holder.
“There we go. You can actually look through your windshield now. See how that makes everything so much clearer?” The hunter's disingenuous grin transformed into a menacing smirk, as he locked eyes with Derek for an extended period. Satisfied that his message had been effectively conveyed, he pivoted and made his way towards his vehicle, with the rest of the Hunters trailing behind. Nevertheless, Derek, unable to resist, finally interjected with a touch of sarcasm in his voice. “You forgot to check the oil.” With a sudden halt, Argent ceased his stride, his back deliberately facing Derek. A mischievous grin spread across his face, relishing in the satisfaction of successfully affecting Derek. Slowly, he pivoted around, directing a subtle nod towards one of his fellow Hunters, a cunning smirk etched onto his rugged features.
“Check the man's oil.” Reluctantly, the smaller of the two Hunters made his way towards Derek's car, while Derek observed his every move with keen interest. Surprisingly, instead of circling around the front of the vehicle to inspect the engine, the Hunter halted at the driver's side door and discreetly retrieved a concealed semi-automatic gun from his side. Without hesitation, he used the butt of the weapon to shatter the window, glancing towards Chris for a nod of approval. “looks good to me.” As Argent made his way towards his SUV, he and his team of Hunters departed in their own vehicles. Derek clenched his teeth in frustration as he glared at the shattered glass surrounding his car.
As the rain poured and thunder rumbled, Derek reached the hospital with one goal in mind: finding Garrison. Determined to uncover the truth about the alpha, he was willing to go to any lengths, even if it meant exploiting an injured civilian. His motivation stemmed from his deep love for his family, his sister, and (Y/N). The bus driver's lifeless body lay serenely on the sterile bed until the silhouette of a wolf cast a haunting shadow upon the pristine white blanket. “open your eyes.” He ordered. But nothing happened. “open your eyes.” Myers reluctantly obeyed, emitting a deep growl. The agony etched on his battered face intensified as the wounds around his eyes became more pronounced, forming a web of creases and dark circles. “What do you remember?” Myers appeared to have a sense of familiarity towards him, as memories of his piercing forest green eyes flooded his thoughts. In a feeble attempt, he desperately uttered his last name, as if it held some significant meaning.
“How do you know my name?” Derek barked with rage. “I'm sorry... I'm sorry.” Myers reclined on his pillow while the wolf struggled to comprehend the discussion. Abruptly, a blaring alarm erupted from the telemetry monitoring system, prompting Melissa to investigate before urgently summoning the nurse. Derek had mysteriously vanished from the room, realizing that his sole witness was now deceased and of no value. Melissa hurriedly entered the room and was taken aback with disbelief upon witnessing Myers lifeless in bed, his telemetry showing a flatline. Rose, call a code! Room one-thirty-seven!
Derek's heart pounded in his chest as he raced through the dense foliage of the preserve. The branches whipped against his face, leaving small scratches in their wake, but he paid no mind to the stinging pain. They would heal in minutes. His mind was solely focused on finding (Y/N), ensuring her safety, and making amends for the chaos he had inadvertently unleashed. The moon cast an eerie glow through the canopy above, illuminating the path ahead. Derek's heightened senses allowed him to navigate the winding trails with ease, his footsteps barely making a sound as he moved with the grace of a predator. The scent of wolfsbane grew stronger with each passing moment, a reminder of the danger that lurked in the shadows. As he sprinted, memories of the gas station incident replayed in his mind. The panic that had consumed him when he realized the potential harm he had caused to (Y/N) and those around her. The guilt that gnawed at his conscience, knowing that his actions had put her in harm's way. He couldn't bear the thought of her suffering because of him.
As the thunder grew louder, Y/N stepped out of her car onto the meadow, her heart pounding with excitement. The dark clouds loomed overhead, casting an eerie shadow over the landscape. Ignoring the ominous atmosphere, she carefully poured vodka into four jars, each one representing a different direction. She had heard tales of the power of storms, how they could cleanse and rejuvenate, and she was determined to harness that energy. Sitting on the damp grass, she positioned the jars in a circle around her, their contents shimmering in the fading light. The air was heavy with anticipation, and she could feel the electricity building in the atmosphere. As the first droplets of rain began to fall, she closed her eyes, allowing the cool sensation to wash over her like a chilling halo.
The rain intensified, drenching her and the surrounding meadow. The sound of the downpour drowned out all other noise, creating a symphony of nature's fury. Y/N's senses heightened, her body tingling with the raw power of the storm. She could feel the energy crackling in the air, charging the very molecules around her. Finally, the rumbling sounds reached the field, shaking the ground beneath her. The thunder roared like a beast, its voice echoing through the vast expanse. A smile of pure joy spread across Y/N's face as she felt the storm's might. It was as if the heavens had opened up, granting her access to a realm of untamed energy.
Derek couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and concern as he watched the soaked woman move with an almost ethereal grace. Her movements were deliberate and purposeful as if she knew exactly what she was doing. As she positioned each jar at a corner of the territory, Derek's mind raced with questions. What was the significance of these containers? And why was she placing strands of her hair inside each one? It was a peculiar sight, one that left Derek with a sense of unease. He had known the woman to be mysterious, but this was a whole new level. Without wasting a moment, she arrived at her home with remarkable swiftness, only to immediately turn around and depart once more, leaving the jars untouched as she raced along the newly moistened road towards the town.
Melissa, worn out and in her cosy pyjamas, trudged wearily down the hallway towards Scott's bedroom. Even before she reached the door, she called out to him, her voice filled with exhaustion. “hey (Y/N)s coming over for a wine and dine night.” She mumbled clearly upset over something. As she stepped into the doorway, her gaze fell upon Scott's room, which was shrouded in darkness and devoid of any presence. The half-open bedroom window added to the eerie atmosphere. Melissa couldn't help but let out a sigh, disappointed that Scott had missed the curfew imposed on the entire town. However, she quickly composed herself, shaking her head in resignation, and made her way back to her own bedroom. All the while, she muttered softly under her breath, expressing her frustration.
Just as she was about to enter her bedroom, a loud thud echoed from Scott's room, causing her to freeze in her tracks. Startled, she turned her head towards the noise and was unsettled by the window rattling open and shut. Cautiously, she retreated back into her room, snatching a baseball bat and positioning herself just inside the doorway. Her heart raced as she witnessed a figure rolling onto Scott's bed from the window. Ready to strike, the brunette hesitated as the figure suddenly stood up and called out. “WHOA! OH, NO, NO, NO!.” finally realising it was her son's idiot friend and lowered the wooden weapon. “Stiles, what are you doing here?” Stiles' voice is just as exasperated, as though Melissa is the one in the wrong here, especially when he remembers that Scott almost did the exact same thing to him with the bat Scott tried to kill him with. “What am I doing? God, do either of you even play baseball?”
In an instant, the room was illuminated as the light switched on, exposing Scott's return. Without a moment's hesitation, Melissa swiftly redirected her attention towards him, unleashing a frustrated scolding. “Can you please tell your friend to use the front door?”
“But we lock the front door. He wouldn't be able to get in.” She let out a heavy sigh before swiftly exiting the room, muttering under her breath. “(Y/N)s coming over don’t be little shits for an hour or two I beg you.” As Scott's gaze shifted towards his friend, he couldn't help but notice the gravity etched on his friend's face. Concerned, he swiftly inquired about it, furrowing his brows and pulling his desk chair closer to engage in a face-to-face conversation. “My dad left for the hospital fifteen minutes ago... It's the bus driver. “They said he "succumbed to his wounds." The young wolf’s gaze met Stiles with a questioning expression, prompting the latter to carry on with his thoughts. “Scott, he's dead.” Scott's eyes grew wider, a gasp escaping his lips as shock coursed through him. With the limited information he had, he began piecing together a mental image, connecting the dots to form a clearer picture. Scott burst into the Hale House, convinced that the older wolf was responsible for the attack on Garrison Myers. Ignoring (Y/N) who held a wine bottle tightly, he urgently called out for Derek. But it was too late, Scott was already racing down the street. “Scott!”
As the night progressed, Y/N discovered themselves engaged in lively conversation with Melissa, their laughter resonating throughout the room. Amid the cheerful atmosphere, Stiles quickly formulated a plan. "Hey, Mel, mind showing me the way to your bathroom?" The mysterious woman inquired. Concealed behind a nearby wall, the teenager listened intently, their heart racing at the faint sound of her footsteps on the creaking floorboards. Filled with a sudden rush of anxiety, Stiles swiftly moved to intercept her near the bathroom, his eyes revealing his unease. "Listen, you captivating goth," the nervous boy stammered, trembling with fear, as she raised an eyebrow, revealing her dark, smoky eyes and perfectly winged eyeliner. "I know you're hiding something from me, and you can't deny it because I've read your book."
As the thunder roared around the house, she forcefully pushed Stiles against the wall, surprising him with her hidden strength. "Listen up, Stiles. I don't want to cause you any harm, but you've messed with the wrong girl, kid. Now, hand over the book if you know what's good for you." Stiles quickly nodded in agreement as she gradually released her grip. Filled with anger, she stomped her way back downstairs, and the rage slowly subsided inside once again.
“Derek! I know you're here! I know what you did!” Hidden from view, Derek's serene voice reverberated through the desolate remains, creating an eerie atmosphere in the darkness. “I didn't do anything.” Sceptical of Derek's claims, Scott cautiously approached the charred staircase, determined to locate his hiding spot within the dilapidated house. “You killed him!” Derek remained hidden, yet his responses to him persisted, though now tinged with a growing impatience in his tone. “he died.” Despite Scott's continuous effort to locate Derek, his newfound powers were not yet up to par. “Like your sister died?” As he ascended the steps, drenched in sweat from the strenuous bike ride to the house, he cleverly engaged in conversation, hoping to uncover any clue about Derek's whereabouts. “My sister was missing. I came here looking for her.”
“You found her.” Scott approached the final steps, his senses heightened, alert for any sign of movement from Derek. Derek, overwhelmed by anger, unleashed a piercing yell, clearly tormented by the subject of their discussion. “I found her in pieces! Being used as bait to catch me.”
“I think you killed them both. I'm gonna tell everyone, starting with the Sheriff.” Scott triumphantly ascended the staircase, only to realize at the eleventh hour that Derek had been silently trailing him on the opposite side. In a sudden twist of events, Derek materialized behind him, forcefully gripping his shoulders and unceremoniously hurling him down the stairs. With a sinister grin, Derek stood at the summit while Scott tumbled down, landing in a crumpled heap on the ground floor.
Scott's feeble attempt at a roar prompted the elder Werewolf to bound down the staircase, disregarding each step and effortlessly landing beside the teenager. Before Derek could even respond, Scott seized him by the front of his leather jacket and forcefully propelled him through the charred remnants of the wall, sending him crashing into a heap of shattered wood and drywall. “Huh.”
As Derek regained his composure, he forcefully expelled the drywall dust from his mouth and brushed off the debris that had settled on him. Rising to his feet, he shook his jacket to remove any lingering particles, all the while feeling a sense of begrudging admiration for Scott's audacity. However, what truly bothered him was the fact that the impact had washed away the lingering scent of (Y/N), leaving it intermingled with the unpleasant odours of mildew, mould, and dust. “That was cute.”
Derek casually discarded his jacket, exposing a simple Gray t-shirt. He strolled towards the former foyer of the house, passing a door adorned with a stained-glass window. Through the window, Scott caught a glimpse of Derek as he stretched his head and neck, undergoing his inaugural transformation in front of the audience. The audible crunch of bones accompanied his progress until he successfully crossed the threshold, now fully transformed into a formidable Werewolf. Derek's appearance underwent a remarkable transformation. His once bare skin was now adorned with a dense growth of hair, framing his eyebrows and accentuating his chiselled chin. Moreover, his jawline had become even more defined, perfectly accommodating his four newly grown, intimidating fangs. As if that wasn't enough, his hands had also undergone a drastic change. They were now rough and large, housing ten formidable claws that possessed the power to slice through anything, provided he exerted enough force. With his once green eyes now radiating a vibrant blue hue, he proudly reveals his menacing fangs, prepared to engage in a proper showdown with Scott.
With a swift jump, Scott propelled himself through the gap created by Derek's flight through the wall. The tension between them was palpable as they cautiously circled each other, both anticipating the other's next move. Derek's low growl persisted, adding an extra layer of intensity to the standoff. With a thunderous roar, Scott charged at Derek, but this time Derek's lightning-fast reflexes allowed him to seize Scott by the shirt and forcefully slam him against the wall. In one swift motion, Derek flung Scott aside, causing him to somersault over the coffee table and land in a crouched stance. Despite growling softly, Scott managed to evade Derek's pounce, skilfully rolling to the side just in time to avoid being pinned down.
As they rose to their feet, both of them exchanged blows, but Derek eventually pushed his opponent across the room, causing him to fall flat on his back. Derek then stood in a hunched-over stance while Scott struggled to get up, using the coffee table for support. In response, Derek let out a fierce growl. With lightning speed, Derek sprinted towards the coffee table, transforming it into his impromptu shield. He launched a powerful kick, propelling his feet into Scott's chest, and sending him hurtling backwards. Undeterred, Scott swiftly regained his footing, while Derek unleashed another kick, this time aiming at the wall. As Scott grabbed a nearby wooden beam, the battle escalated to a whole new level. With a forceful strike, he made contact with Derek, causing him to tumble backwards and roll across the ground. As Scott swiftly approached, wielding the beam like a baseball bat, Derek managed to evade a blow to his face by rolling to the side. Seizing the opportunity, Derek swiftly rose to his knees and delivered a powerful strike to the back of Scott's knees, sending him sprawling and crashing onto the hard ground.
Derek was sent tumbling backwards and rolling across the ground after a powerful strike from Scott. As Scott advanced with the beam, ready to swing like a baseball bat, Derek skillfully avoided a blow to his face by rolling to the side. Taking advantage of the opening, Derek quickly got up on his knees and delivered a strong strike to the back of Scott's knees, causing him to crash onto the hard ground. Scott's agony echoed through the room as he stumbled towards the couch, his hands gripping it for support. The pain seemed to force him to retreat, his body trembling with each step. Meanwhile, Derek stood behind him, his back turned, and twisted his neck, the sound of bones cracking filling the air as he transformed back into his powerful human form. Scott's eyes met Derek's, revealing a profound sense of betrayal etched on his face. Exhausted from the relentless fight and weary of their arguments, Derek finally broke the silence with a heavy sigh, setting the truth straight once and for all. “I didn't kill him. Neither of us did. It's not your fault, and it's not mine.”
Scott's anger intensified as the words reached his ears, fuelling his fury. Determined, he rose to his feet and confronted the person, his voice filled with disbelief and booming with intensity. “This? This is all your fault! You ruined my life!”
“No, I didn't.”
“You're the one that bit me!”
“No, I'm not.”
Shock coursed through Scott's veins as he absorbed the unexpected revelation, causing his eyes to widen in disbelief. Frantically, he scanned his surroundings, trying to process the overwhelming information. His gaze shifted downwards, landing on his chest where he noticed a series of shallow claw marks. Tentatively, he reached out and touched them, feeling a shiver run down his spine as the sight of blood on his fingertips triggered a haunting memory from the previous night.
As Scott neared the bus, his peripheral vision tinged with a crimson hue, courtesy of his enhanced Werewolf sight. Inside the bus, a terrifying wolf-like creature was viciously assaulting Garrison Myers, who cried out in terror. Desperate for help, Myers extended his trembling hand towards Scott, praying for salvation. However, as Scott attempted to intervene, the colossal Werewolf slashed him across the chest, reminiscent of the painful wounds he had sustained in the demolished hale house, but this time the injury ran even deeper.
“...There's another.” Scott's gaze shifted to his crimson-stained fingertips, observing the wounds on his chest that had miraculously begun to mend. At that moment, a sudden realization struck him, leaving him so astounded that he sank into the couch, gasping for air. “It's called an Alpha. It's the most dangerous of our kind. You and I? We're Betas. This thing is more powerful, more animal than either of us. My sister came here looking for him. Now I'm trying to find him. But, I don't think I can do it without you.”
“Why me?”

Stiles is ten when he saves the Hales from their burning home and Derek from a wolfsbane bullet, and this establishes a pattern that seem to continue indefinitely.
"Then he's facing a burning home, and he wraps the hood of his sweatshirt around his mouth before he pushes the door open and steps inside. There's Mr. Hale asleep - he hopes asleep - on the couch, next to - Stiles thinks that's his brother but there are so many Hales, who can keep track. He rushes over and starts shaking him, can see the rise and fall of the man's chest so he knows he's alive, but he's not waking up.
He shoves away his hood so he can shout, "Mr. Hale! You have to get up, there's a fire! Mr. Hale, get up!" Nothing, he's not even twitching, both of them taking in deep even breaths like they're having the most peaceful of rests, and Stiles is going to cry. "Wake up, wake up, wake up!"
There's a moment, where all Stiles can hear is the blood rushing in his ears and not the roar of the flames or the creak of wood, then with a violent, silent pop it's all back and both of the men are gasping awake, eyes open and jumping to their feet. "

Heads up! This fanfic was edited after posting!
8. “I want to go home to my wife.”
Warnings: Angst, Blood (Happy Ending)
A/N: So this was SUPPOSED to be done a couple of days ago, but I didn’t like it and I redid it like 7 times lol. Also Derek is based off of season 6 Derek if that makes sense? Anyways, thank you so much for the request and I really do hope you like it!
Derek hissed, stumbling over his own two feet as he trudged up the path to Scott McCall’s front door.
The bullet wound in his chest was leaking yellow smoke, and every movement felt like agony.
“Scott!” He called, throat raspy. “Scott!?”
Derek’s breathing became heavy, the wound hot and throbbing. He could feel the wolfsbane flowing through his veins, like gasoline that had been lit aflame.
His head swam and his vision blurred, his brain a scramble. His mind had been on autopilot since he came to on the cold forest floor. He had woken up covered in blood, with scorching pain enveloping his body and no recollection of what happened. Adrenaline forced him to stumble his way to the closest friend for help, nose catching the closest scent.
Derek’s thoughts drifted to you, eyebrows furrowing in worry. Where are you? Were you with him when he was shot? Are you safe and sound at home? He shivered at the thought of you being hurt, or worse.
He needs to find you, he needs to make sure you’re okay.
Derek turns to leave but looses his footing, losing his balance as he practically falls into Scott’s front door, a loud bang echoing throughout the dark neighborhood as his body collided with the white painted mahogany.
The door opened, Derek slumping inside as Melissa let out a startled shriek. “Derek!?”
She bent over, a gasp leaving her. “Scott! Scott get down here!” She grabbed the lapels of Derek’s jacket, doing her best to drag him inside as footsteps pounded down the stairs.
“What’s going on? What’s wrong?” Scott asked, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
“He’s hurt, help me get him on the couch.” Melissa spoke, grabbing ahold of Derek’s arms.
Scott ran over, grabbing ahold of his legs as the two lifted him onto the couch.
“Derek? Derek can you hear me?” Melissa asked, shaking him gently.
Derek blinked, wincing in pain and grasping his head. “Y/N?”.
“No Derek, it’s Melissa and Scott. Can you hear me? I need you to tell me what’s wrong.”
Derek shook his head, sweat soaking his brow as he frowned. He sniffed the air, searching for any sign of you. His mind was consumed with the thought of you, unaware of his surroundings. “Where’s Y/N? Where’s my wife?”
Scott looked at his mother before turning towards Derek. “Derek, I don’t know.”
Derek tried sitting up, crying out in pain as he moved. “Where am I? I have to…” He trailed off.
“He’s disoriented.” Melissa noted. “Something is definitely wrong.”
“I want to… I want to go home to my wife.” Derek demanded. “I need to go home to my wife.” He tried to get up but Melissa was quick to push him down.
“Derek you’re not going anywhere until we figure out what’s wrong. I don’t think you understand what you’re saying right now. Do you know where you are? Can you understand me?”
Derek let out a growl, trying to push her away to no avail. He shook his head in an attempt to clear it, but before he knew it his eyes were closing and he passed out.
“Derek!?” Melissa yelled frantically, fingers finding his pulse point. “He’s got a pulse but it’s slowing.”
“He’s bleeding.” Scott pointed, gesturing to the blood barely visible from behind Derek’s leather jacket.
“Scott, go grab the first aid kit.” Scott ran off as Melissa gently pulled Derek’s jacket off. Without the black leather in the way, she could see the large blood stain spreading through his white t-shirt.
Scott handed her the first aid kit and she was quick to grab a pair of scissors, cutting Derek’s shirt and peeling it away from his skin.
She gasped at the yellow oozing wound. “Please tell me you know why it’s doing that.” She turned towards Scott who nodded his head.
“It’s yellow wolfsbane, we have to burn it out.”
“There’s a small torch in the junk draw.” She pointed and Scott was quick to grab it.
“I’m going to need you to hold him down.” She warned.
Scott nodded, grabbing ahold of Derek’s shoulders. “Ready.” He spoke.
“Here we go.” Melissa turned on the torch, taking a deep breath before holding it above Derek’s wound.
Derek woke with a start, his face morphing as he let out a pained roar that practically shook the house. He knocked Scott away from him, squirming as he tried to get away from the hot flame.
“Hold him!” Melissa yelled. Scott pushed Derek down once more using all of his strength, preventing the older wolf from thrashing as Melissa continued to burn the wolfsbane.
Derek slumped as Melissa finally pulled away, eyes blinking sluggishly as he panted.
He took a minute to get his bearings before letting Scott help him sit up.
“What happened?” Scott asked.
Derek’s mind cleared as the pain faded, his healing abilities kicking in now that his wound was free of poison. Memories flooded him and he took a minute to adjust before he spoke. “Hunters happened.” Derek responded. “I need to find Y/N,” He groaned as he stood. “I need to find her now.”
“Slow down.” Melissa chastised. “You almost died less than two minutes ago, you’re not fit to be going anywhere in the condition you’re in.”
“I need to find her, you don’t understand.”
“Why don’t you explain what happened?” Scott suggested. “I can’t help you if I don’t know what’s going on.”
Derek sighed, glancing at the front door before he nodded. “Y/N and I were looking for a rogue omega near the high school when a group of hunters showed up.” He paused, scowling at the ground. “They blinded sided us. I didn’t smell them, I didn’t hear them, nothing. It’s like they came out of nowhere.”
“I didn’t know what was happening until they shot me.” He winced. “I told Y/N to run but she didn’t listen.” Derek paused, eyebrows furrowing as he tried to remember.
“She grabbed onto me and was practically dragging me with her. I remember falling and somebody was screaming and then I blacked out. When I came to I guess I came here.” Derek finished.
“I’ll call the pack. We’ll find her Derek.” Scott assured, putting his hand on Derek’s shoulder for comfort.
“No need to.” A voice spoke, causing the three to look up. You stood at the front door, Malia and Stiles behind you.
“Y/N.” Derek sighed. You were covered in dirt and blood, t-shirt ripped and leaves tangled in your hair.
“You’re okay.” You cried, making your way to him, hands wrapping around his shoulders as you squeezed him.
He squeezed you back just as tight, ignoring the slight pain in his chest as he gave you a soft kiss on the forehead. “I was so worried about you.”
“Me? You were the one bleeding out. I left you for two seconds and you were gone. I thought…” You trailed off, breath trembling slightly.
“I’m okay.” He assured. “We’re both okay.”
You nodded, giving him one last squeeze before gently pulling away.
“What happened out there? How’d you get away?” Derek asked, hand going to your cheek as he looked you over once more.
“It wasn’t easy. Those hunters were unlike any we’ve been against before. They were smart, covered their scents and their tracks. Barely made a noise either. It was thanks to them I got out of there alive.” You said, gesturing to Malia and Stiles. “If they hadn’t come to back me up I don’t think I would’ve made it.”
“Where are they now?” Scott asked.
“Down at the station. I called my dad and he brought some back up. Cops came just in time to see those assholes shoot at us. A bunch of adults shooting at high school kids? Yeah, they’re not getting out of jail anytime soon.” Stiles said smugly.
“We had just started to track down Derek when we heard his yell. We came over right away.” Malia added.
“Are you okay?” Melissa asked, eyes falling to the bullet holes in your shirt.
You smiled softly at her worried expression, lifting your shirt up. “All healed. They only had one wolfsbane bullet, which I assume was for the omega. They were stupid to use it on Derek.” You practically growled before taking a calming breath. “Thank you by the way, if you and Scott hadn’t been there to save him I…I don’t know what I’d do.”
“Of course, I’m a nurse it’s my job. Not to mention you’re both like family. It’s the least I could do.” Melissa nodded, squeezing your hand reassuringly.
“Definitely not the first time Scott’s saved my ass from a wolfsbane bullet. Remember?” Derek asked, nudging Scott who let out a laugh at the memory.
Stiles let out a gag. “Oh god, don’t remind me. I still can’t get over that bone saw. I can’t believe you wanted me to cut off your arm.” He shuddered.
“I don’t even want to to know.” Melissa sighed.
“I’d like to know.” Malia spoke, causing the group to laugh.
“Did you end up finding the omega?” Melissa asked once everyone settled.
You and Derek shook your heads. “Didn’t have time to. We’ll start a new search tomorrow. I think it’d be better if we got some rest first, especially you.” You stated, nudging Derek in his side.
“We’ll come with you.” Scott said. “So hopefully next time you won’t show up dying at my door at two in the morning.”
“Yeah, I’d like to avoid that.” Derek nodded.
“Why don’t you all stay here tonight?” Melissa voiced. “It’ll make me feel a lot better.”
“I call Scott’s bed!” Stiles cried, racing up the stairs with a protesting Scott at his heels.
“I want the floor!” Malia yelled, chasing after the two.
Melissa laughed at their antics before turning towards you and Derek. “The couch is a pullout, blankets and extra pillows are in the draw underneath the tv. Eat anything you’d like, I have to go grocery shopping anyways.”
You hugged her gently. “Thank you, Mrs. McCall.”
“Please, call me Melissa. And seriously, anytime.” She smiled, bidding goodnight before she made her way up to her room.
Derek grabbed the blankets and pillows while you pulled out the couch. Scott came back down with a change of clothes for both you and Derek, courtesy of him and his mom.
It wasn’t long before the two of you were settling into bed, Derek’s head on your chest with his arm around your waist and your fingers combing through his hair.
“I meant it you know.” You spoke, voice barely a whisper. “I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you, Derek.”
He lifted his head, eyes meeting yours. “You will never lose me.” He grabbed your hand, thumb brushing over the two rings that sat on your ring finger. “For better or worse, in sickness and in health. I am with you forever.”
“Is that what I signed up for?” You teased, letting out a soft laugh as Derek rolled his eyes with a grumble.
You smiled softly at him, heart beating loudly in your chest. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” He replied, the arm around your waist tightening ever so slightly.

Sure! Try these ones.
Fly a Little Faster by  mirrorkill | 32K
Everyone knows when you go back in time, you shouldn’t step on an ant, just in case you accidentally kill your own grandparent or something. But what happens when you go back in time and, uh, accidentally interrupt the one event that apparently made the Grumpiest Alpha in Town into a ball of mindless manpain?
Well, if Marty McFly can do it, so can Stiles Stilinski. All he has to do is get Derek and Paige to fall in love before he gets pulled back to his own time. And before he makes anything worse. That’s easy as pie, right? Right?
Where Clouds Roll By by  ohanotherday | 22K
Derek gets de-aged, physically *and* mentally, and immediately gravitates towards Stiles instead of his pack. Why? Because he can sense that everyone else (Scott, Erica, Boyd, Isaac, etc.) is a werewolf (or were-something, in Jackson’s case), and his family taught him not to trust unfamiliar weres when he was on his own. He can also sense that Allison’s a Hunter or connected to them somehow, (maybe she smells like wolfsbane? w/e). So Stiles ends up having to take care of him until he’s back to normal. In the meantime, bb!Derek gets very protective of Stiles, and adorable shenanigans ensue.
This Time With Feeling by  Crimson1 | 36.1K
“Derek Hale, if you refuse to learn from your past…then you will be doomed to repeat it.” In which Derek is turned into a 16-year-old and has to stay with Stiles until they figure out how to turn him back.
Play It Again by  metisket | 63.2K
In which Stiles goes along with one of Derek’s plans and ends up in an alternate universe as a result. He should’ve known better. He did know better, actually, and that means he has no one to blame but himself.
“Laura wants to lure the kid in with food and kindness and make a pet of him, like a feral cat. Derek wants to have him arrested for stalking. They’re at an impasse. (And the rest of the family is staying emphatically out of it in a way that suggests bets have been placed.)”
Where The Inevitable Isn’t by  Survivah | 41.2K
Stiles has a magical thingamajig that’s supposed to get him out of danger. Trouble is, it took him really, really far out of danger. Like, to the point where he isn’t in the same universe anymore.
“A part of Stiles had been thinking that he’d come home, and just go, ‘hey, Derek, are we mates and you just haven’t said anything about it?’ and Derek would reply, 'now you mention it, we are indeed! Now come to my bedchamber, where we will have super hot sex and then cuddle after!’”
Now as Ever (All That Is and Has Been) by  venis_envy | 52.2K
Stiles can’t remember what happened to rearrange the time-space continuum, or how he ended up being pulled into the past. All he knows is that he’s there now, in 2003 Beacon Hills, with a teenage werewolf and a possibly-crazy veterinarian as his only allies.
Hormonally Yours by Nokomis | 1.1K
Stiles is on a stakeout with adorably teenaged Derek. Makeouts happen.
A Wrinkle in Time by PencilTrash | 2.8K
“But Deaton, how do we change him back?” “I don’t know, Scott.” “Does this potion contain wolfs bane?” “A little.” “What?! But he's… he is… ” Stiles watched as Scott struggled for the correct word, totally freaking out, and gestured at the twitching blanket in Cora’s hold. “… so small,” Scott murmured after a beat.
I’ll be right back (in 24 years) by AnaIsFangirling (Ana_K_Lee) | 48.1K
When Derek thought about time travel – and he did, a lot – this was not what he’d had in mind. He’d thought he would see his younger self, tell him to leave Paige alone and NEVER trust Kate Argent. He’d thought he’d get to come back once that was done and everything would be perfect. He never imagined having to relive his entire life.
The Time Traveler’s Prerogative by  weathervaanes | 9.2K
After the events of “117”, Derek doesn’t magically transform back into his twenty-five-year-old body. Instead, he’s stuck as a sixteen-year-old for an unknown amount of time. So the pack has to learn to deal with it.
Hold On, Hold Tight (make it through another night) by  callunavulgari | 2.9K
“You feel important,” Derek finally blurts out, the tips of his ears going red the second the words are out of his mouth.
Stiles blinks at him. “What?”
Baby-faced Derek bites his lip again, which is… distracting. “Something is wrong,” he finally says, slowly. “I don’t know what, because none of you are telling me anything—” and ah, there’s a hint of the old Derek. Stiles would recognize that scowl anywhere. “—but I know that everything smells wrong. And that I can’t feel mom anymore. I can’t feel anyone, except for you.”

Part 2 of the Moonlight Saga - Part 1 Here
Summary: Stiles rolled his eyes but unraveled the fancy bow and ripped open the paper so he could open the cardboard box. He was met with the sweet and pungent smell of something, his whole body reacting viscerally as he saw a wolf's head. The fur was russet and brown, blue eyes milky, and mouth shoved full of bluish-purple flowers that Stiles knew were wolfsbane. A notecard was placed on top neatly like a card with a single word: Soon. or New Moon but Teen Wolf

How do you think Lydia perceives the whole Sterek relationship? I just know that it was the huge elephant in the closet during her and Stiles's relationship.
this particular question is something @dear-massacre and i have discussed before and i've given it some thought.
admittedly it's actually a lot of thought. in my opinion the answer to this is more complicated than you would think.
i have a lot of thoughts on the subject.
lydia martin and the memoir entitled me, my boyfriend, his unresolved feelings for derek hale and my repressed feelings for my dead best friend.
i don't think lydia quite knew what she was getting into with stiles initially. she doesn't know there's something to perceive.
on the whole i think the romantic relationship lydia and stiles have is one based on a shaky foundation of idolization, trauma, obligation and confused feelings.
i do not consider it healthy for either of them. especially at the time they enter into it. there's no time or space for them to process their emotions or feelings about what has happened to them let alone their actual feelings for each other.
lydia also didn't really interact with derek very much. in season 1 lydia is on the outside of the main plot and in season 2 she's in the main plot but she doesn't know it because she's purposefully isolated.
so her and derek's interactions are incredibly limited. does she even know derek hale exists lol?
their first barely there interactions are when he's trying to kill her when he thinks she's the kanima and than when she wolfsbane roofies him to resurrect peter?
when derek brings this up in chaos rising during one of his rare interactions with allison and lydia her reaction is so funny to me though. the judgement.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she also isn't there for much of the development between stiles and derek. she doesn't know the derek-n-stiles part of derek and stiles.
she knows stiles likes derek and is friends with him i don't think she necessarily understands that stiles has feelings there let alone about possible reciprocation.
even when she sees them in the finale she's amused by their banter. or that could be holland delighted to see her ship interacting.
the narrative often puts derek, stiles and lydia into this sort of odd love triangle. except it's not a love triangle in the traditional sense. it's almost like they're put up parallel to each other and stiles is forced to chose one path or the other.
lydia and derek are very similar. they both even have defrosting the ice queen arcs becoming two of the most compassionate and selfless people on the show.
in code breaker he's kidnapped by peter to locate derek and forced to leave lydia on the lacrosse field. in abomination stiles leaves lydia crying in her car and cannot return because he gets trapped in the pool by the kanima with derek.
derek even uses stiles's words about lydia being cold-blooded as justification for him attempting to kill her thinking she's the kanima.
there's the scene that plays over peter's love monolog in battlefield that's focused on derek, stiles and lydia despite peter talking about jackson.
lydia is the one who goes with stiles to try and pay for derek's release in mexico in the dark moon.
it's an interesting repeated thing all the way up until derek leaves.
however i don't believe this was the only issue as stiles's unresolved feelings for derek isn't the only elephant in the room. there are actually two elephants in the room. the other elephant is named allison and before you ask yes i'm saying exactly what you think i'm saying.
i've said it before and i'll say it again. there are three woman who haunt the narrative of teen wolf. laura hale, allison argent and claudia stilinski.
laura hale's murder was the inciting incident that started the events of the show, allison's death in the middle of the narrative is transformative to the story and claudia's ghost being exercised is the close.
the more i watch the show for my deep dives the more i notice just how profoundly changed lydia was by her friendship with and her love for allison.
allison was the great love of lydia's life and she is never able to fully move on. it's a wound that won't heal.
like, i'm not gonna get into a treatise about it but the subtext in season 4 about lorriane martin and the loss of her wife maddie compared to lydia and her loss of allison. 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
allison died to save lydia and lydia has never, ever forgiven herself for it.
the death wail that lydia let out for allison was so powerful, so full of pain and terrible that it spurred meredith's benefactor plan. meredith obviously isn't completely mentally sound but hearing that come lydia made her think they were better off dead than experience that.
lydia learning to use her powers to save malia is like watching a mother lift her car off her child. lydia cannot lose another person she cares about. this also fuels her desperation to bring stiles back.
lydia tells lenore in ghosted when they're in cannan that she doesn't have a caleb except yes she does. it's allison. not to mention the symbolism in lenore's name. the lost lenore is a trope is a reference to poe's poem and usually is about the main character's deceased love interest.
as for stiles. well. there's been a lot of words written about him and derek. i don't know how many people have watched how i met your mother but in the words of robin sherbatsky "if you have chemistry you're only missing one other thing -- timing. but timing is a bitch."
that's stiles and derek. derek is the great what if for stiles.
it's not that lydia and stiles didn't love each other. of course they did. that isn't in question. it's just that love isn't always enough. ultimately they were both carrying love around for other people that they couldn't let go of.
lydia let go of stiles because she recognized how unfair it was for the two of them.

So nogitsune is now a werewolf hybrid, so why not shoot it with a wolfsbane laced dagger so at least they can make it weak.
Or I don't know, making the sheriff or Mason draw a mountain ash circle on the nemeton to form a barrier so that nogitsune can't escape.
It's so simple but no, they had to kill my poor Derek 'took punishment on and on until he couldn't' Hale.

Teen Wolf: The Movie released in 2023 should NOT exist and is an ABSOLUTE ATROCITY. Here’s why:
Not only was it absolute bullshit that Jeff Davis killed Derek the same way his family was killed, by burning him alive! But he also had Derek’s 15 year old son WATCH him die. JUST LIKE how Derek watched his family die from a fire when HE was 15!
Where the hell is Stiles, a key character to the series? So major of a character that when he didn’t appear in the beginning of season 6 of the original series, views decreased SIGNIFICANTLY. And when he returned in season 6 episode 11 (with Derek, might I add), views SKYROCKETED like crazy.
A majority of the movies plot points don’t line up with the original show. For example: Chris Argent and Isaac Lahey took the jar containing the Nogitsune with them when they went to France. So why is it on a shelf, let me repeat: a GOD DAMN SHELF, in Japan?! Another thing is that in the original show Derek (as an alpha) was able to survive a wolfsbane bullet wound for almost, if not, 24 hours. While in the movie Chris says Scott (also an alpha) only has a few hours to survive before the poison kills him.
Stiles would never abandon not only his Jeep, as stated in season 4 episode 1: The Dark Moon, but ALSO Scott and Lydia, his two best friends.
There’s so many other things that just don’t line up but it would take way too long to explain and that’s not the reason I’m posting this. The reason for this post is up next. So moving on…
Since Jeff Davis HAS decided to give us this movie with its OUTRAGEOUS plot line and BULLSHIT ending (no offense to Davis entirely, he did very good on the original series but he honestly should have left it there), I have decided (as I’m sure others have as well) that there needs to be a sequel to fix it. Here’s some of the things I think need to happen in said hypothetical and much needed sequel:
Eli’s the main character (not Scott McAsshole) and we learn who his other biological parent is (most likely Kate because even if everyone hates it, it would serve as a very interesting plot).
Stiles comes back because the show is absolute SHIT without him. AND he’s pissed about Scott & the pack not calling him for his help, resulting in Derek being DEAD! He’s also mad at Scott because he, an ALPHA, allowed one of his betas to SACRIFICE himself. In front of his KID no less! The TRAUMA the poor pup will have now. (Can’t there be ONE Hale generation that DOESN’T have life altering trauma and hogwash happen to them!)
Isaac should also return so we can see his reaction to Allison being resurrected and Derek being dead. His reaction is so important to me because when Allison died they were dating and Derek was his original alpha & took him in after his dad died.
In fact, since we’re bringing Stiles and Isaac back, let’s bring EVERYONE that was still alive at the end of the original series and were still part of the pack (or once was) back. Let’s have them make a major debut for an amazing kick ass battle against some new big bad. (Possibly “Captain America: Civil War” style. ✨SCOTT vs STILES✨ …That’s actually not a bad idea. I’ll post about that next, but first we got to continue with what else needs to happen.)
Derek isn’t ACTUALLY dead! Yay! He should be in bardo because 1: he’s a stubborn, self sacrificing pain in the ass who has been wronged in SO many ways. And 2: he has realized his mistake of sacrificing himself (while needed in the movie, it could have easily been prevented if Stiles was there) causing him to leave his son and outright REFUSES to fully die. PLUS, right before Derek died we saw his eyes turn RED, meaning that he is now a True Alpha. That changes a LOT of things! I don’t care if there’s no body and he can’t logically return to this plane of existence physically. He’s in bardo. Plain and simple. The show has already broken so many perceived supernatural rules, what’s one more?
Stiles has ✨magic✨ (as hinted on by Deaton saying he has a Spark MULTIPLE times throughout the series) and brings Derek back from being almost-dead-but-not-quite-dead.
And finally, what a MAJORITY of Teen Wolf fans (myself included 😌) have been waiting for *drumroll*: STEREK!!! FINALLY it happens! *jazz hands*
BOOM! DONE! STORY FIXED! Your welcome!
Feel free to comment what you think is wrong with the movie and what should be added to the hypothetical & desperately needed sequel.
Until next time…
~Peace,
Genesis. ✌️
