I think a lot of alloros fundamentally misunderstand how being aro actually feels
I don’t go about my day as a hetro person who just happens to opt out of romance when it pops up
I’ve known i was different since before i even knew different was something i could be. Since i was like 12 or 13 I’ve known somehow what i was feeling was off compared to everyone around me. Growing up like that was fundamentally a queer experience for me, even if i wasn’t trans. In fact, i feel like my experiences being aro tie me closer to being queer than even my gender. While i can’t relate to everything in them, other queer coming of age stories do mirror my own aro coming of age. So to say that an aro person, regardless of their other identities, can’t be queer is just baffling to me.

angel dust: are you a coke or pepsi guy ?
husk: coke
angel dust: oh thank god. i couldn’t date a pepsi guy
husk: what ? so if i gave you the world, but i drank pepsi, you wouldn’t date me ?
angel dust: yeah exactly
husk: *shocked, but laughing*
angel dust: no because what if we had kids ? and then you raised them to be pepsi people ? that’s, like, abuse. can’t raise pepsi kids

i like to imagine that paul suit discourse happens in-universe too. it's like one of those "blue and black or white and gold" things - every new CCRP employee is interrogated on what colour they think paul's suit is, and then unknowingly dragged into war based on their answer. if CCRP ever has company bonding paintball games, the teams are always split by what colour they think paul's suit is. one day, ted asks him directly, and when paul 'disagrees' (it's his suit and it's brown, god damn it. it says it right there on the label, see!) he insists the poor guy must be colourblind or some shit.

the hate on demisexuality specifically when ace exclusion was all the rage is still so funny to me. bitches going "some teenager on the internet made up that term for a character and then decided to use it herself!!!!" as if that was. a rebuttal? like wowwwww a teenager projected an experience onto a character of theirs. that's never happened before. that's so crazy someone made up a word to describe their experience??? yeah dude you should definitely go bully teenagers on the internet about it that seems like the reasonable thing to do. can't let those teens. uh. [ checks notes ] come to a realization about their sexuality and then talk about it

Listen I don’t know how to articulate this in an eloquent way but remember that part in sunflower vol. 6 “I dont want to make you feel bad, but I've been trying hard not to talk to you”? It’s like he’s saying I’m trying to protect your solitude but it’s hard, first of all because it’s not something you just know. You have to learn how to create a space where two people in a relationship still feel like they’re their own person, if that makes any sense.
Secondly, because it is a contradiction, if you think about it. Being a couple, being in a couple automatically deletes your solitude state, unless you seek for it, unless you ask for it.
Third, it creates uncertainty when you’re young and in love and you have all these feelings inside your chest they might as well just explode out of your lungs, you want them, you want to be with them (let me inside, wish I could get to know you) and it doesn’t matter how many years have passed since you first got together. There will always be this perpetual urge of belonging to someone that pushes you to just be around each other all the time, to know what’s happening, to worry about them and to take care of them. It makes you paranoid and insecure to know they asked you to wait for when they’re ready to not be alone anymore. It takes a lot of patience and growth and trust to just let them be and live on their own, you know? It’s probably the most selfless act of them all, even when that’s not what you would want (my eyes want you more than a melody, I couldn’t want you any more/I don’t want to be alone in golden).
And I could go on and on and on about how well this concept fits his entire discography.
I could mention Satellite’s «You got a new life, Am I bothering you? Do you wanna talk? Spinning out, waiting for ya to pull me in. I can see you're lonely down there. Don't you know that I am right here?».
Or Daylight’s «you got me cursing the daylight»
Or Canyon Moon’s «I’ll be gone too long from you»
Do I have to mention Adore you? ALL OF IT? Alright, I will: «You don't have to say you love me. You don't have to say nothing You don't have to say you're mine, honey. I'd walk through fire for you, Just let me adore you»
In conclusion, loving him is the antidote, solitude included.
[Such a huge development from Sweet creature’s «I always think about you and how we don't speak enough» by the way]

LITERALLY like its people discussing the characters as living people and not plot tools. no matter what mapleshade did her kits would die because the plot NEEDS them to die. they were doomed the second they were out of camp lol
(i would say the bridge route would probably just have the kits succumb to hypothermia from being out in leaffall rain though, given how fragile kittens are. then people would whine about how she didnt take the faster route. also also doesnt getting to the bridge require crossing the stream near fourtrees, which is also capable of flooding. like fireheart almost dies there in one book. i just checked the map again and it looms like you need to hop the stream to get there)
From what I understand of that particular creek, it's a "syke." A syke is a seasonal stream fed by extra rain, floodwater, and snowmelt, usually only seen in spring and early autumn. A syke is also called a "bourne" further south in England.
So the syke could be active because of the extra flooding, yeah. Which would make it dangerous to take that detour. Mapleshade on her 4th playthrough of MV trying to get 100% completion so she takes the long way around, only for the plot wave to follow her all the way down there too lmao. SYKE!

Don’t worry everyone! In canon the eggs are just going to a summer camp (most likely in a deep sleep) while the federation is on strike ;)

the double standards with spop is so absurd because if catra was a man, i'm pretty sure the fans would find the way she treats entrapta creepy and invasive.

Can I just say that I really love that thing that Dean does where he combines idioms or other figurative language things? Like when he said that he's not going to "put a gift horse under a microscope." It's two different idioms mashed together but it conveys a meaning that is subtly different from either of them being used alone. I love it!

Bold of JKR to assume we'd find Snape unattractive, based on her description of a hook-nosed, black-haired, sallow-skinned, thin dude
Miss ma'am.
I am Italian. That is what most men in my country look like. That is literally what my dating pool is.
Ma'am.
Please.

Goes without saying that disrespecting people’s existence is bad but like. you can tell someone is so mortally attached to their internet superiority complex when they pretend that “offensiveness” that comes from real historical accounts of a lesbian learning not to think so poorly of trans women in the 80’s or whatever else that was in dtwof that’s clearly ignorance common from the time is worse than someone sitting down to write their own fictional little universe in the 2010’s to pump out all the shit that homestuck was getting up to (weird race discourse with jane, poc steryotypes, other not race related shit including fumbling their headlining sapphic ship in the post-story so badly that it ruined everything about it) AND that it’s more foundational to the queer community.
You are so media brainrotted that you think that Alison Bechdel’s work needs to be omitted because it’s not fandomable and it isn’t all just the best most flowery parts of being alive during the gay liberation that you can keep posting to your aesthetic/relatable/whatever blogs. She’s not a character you pathologize over she’s a real ass person that accurately depicted and did not censor her past flaws and bigotries that were unfortunately common at the time.
