jason being red robin in one of the outcomes in death in the family is CRAZY (with full tim mods and ugly cowl) and under the red hood should have included tim (if death in the family had damian) and that’s a big factor in WHY jason was so angry with bats but

been thinking too hard about my batman mob au. so i would like to share it. this is so long im sorry let me put it under a cut
i want to begin by saying that i think the only way bruce could feasibly become a mob boss is if he was able to be swayed to see that "clean" methods would genuinely do no good and in fact succeed in achieving more harm due to how much corruption and crime permeates the system. i think it would take a LOT to convince bruce of this, so he's kind of the hardest character to put in a mob au. however for the sake of fun we will suspend our disbelief a little bit!
okay, moving on, alfred: he's long been proven to be bruce's biggest enabler. i think he would get over it and end up helping him as he does as batman
as for dick: ooh boy. okay. so first of all i DO think bruce would let him kill zucco. however!! i think as dick grows up within the mob his strong code of morals will also begin to conflict with the lifestyle. but he's stuck there because bruce. insert all those posts about how dick grayson loves freedom and he also loves bruce and those things are at constant war with each other and because he loves bruce he sometimes clips his own wings. etc etc. i think he is the talia al ghul of this whole sitch if you get what i mean
speaking of talia!!! i believe her father would still be at odds with bruce bc yes, bruce is in crime, but bruce refuses to join with the league. so they semi-preserve their canon dynamic, except i think there's more opportunity for cooperation between talia and bruce considering talia's lexcorp era. in fact i do believe that lexcorp and waynecorp would become business allies during talia's time as ceo
but jason isn't dead. what his kidnappers hoped to do was turn him against his benefactor, taunt him about how it's been months and bruce still hasn't been able to save him, had refused to save him. but one night the door's left ajar and the sound of the TV drifts in, talking about how bruce is waging a bloody gang war, the first he's ever instigated, and jason... well. :)
as for jason—i think he would be the most loyal of the bunch. the first thing i actually dreamed up wrt this AU was a reimagining of ditf/utrh! in here, he's kidnapped by a rival gang. they demand bruce an impossible ransom, and bruce has no choice but to refuse. so bruce is sent a video of jason being killed.
"but poppy," you ask. "where's babs? tim? steph? cass? helena? jpv?" ok let's be real people aren't usually asking about the last 2 rip my babygirls BUT ANYWAYS—
the most important figure is HELENA. in the absence of batman, guess who's becoming the foremost protector of gotham??? EXACTLY. HELENA BERTINELLI. her whole backstory is that she wants to bring organized crime down SO WHO BETTER TO BE THE MAIN ENEMY IN A BATMAN MOB AU.
also because i love her.
im not biased i swear.
ALSO HER FIRST "ROBIN" (not necessarily named robin i just mean like. sidekick) IS JAMES COOPER FROM CAVALIERI'S HUNTRESS. CHUCK DIXON I HAVE NOT FORGIVEN YOU FROM ERASING HIM FROM MAIN CONTINUITY. he doesn't go out into the field that much bc he's still baby but he's the oracle before oracle. although when he does go into the field he's like. remember in cavalieri huntress where he was scurrying arohnd in the sewers and planting fucking grenades and shit. yeah.
later on he and babs will be best buddies <3 babs is his favorite aunt
ALSO!!! the rest of james' family will still be alive. idgaf. it's MY au and i can randomly reveal that his family has been alive all along IF I WANT TO. comic writers stop killing black people off for shock value challenge 2k24
also, james is ABSOLUTELY the one who wheedled helena into making a lair
babs does join the fray still! her story arc is mostly the same except that she partners with the huntress instead of batman. their ages are closer together so it's a slightly different dynamic
tim will remain a civilian. he will, however, be a very helpful civilian, in that he's the one who's stalking dick grayson & trying to prove that dick's involved in organized crime. him and dick will have the saddest tragickest "we could've been brothers. but not in this life. not ever." type of relationship. like jaderoy but platonic.
also tim & helena will have the same littlebrothernephew relationship that they have in canon 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
i guess jpv will get roped in in a similar way to canon, but the idea of bane doing what he did to helena makes me so so sad :( however since she is taking batman's narrative space in this story then i think it should still proceed. i will then also insert a little bit of the vichelena agenda here—
in the wake of bane, JPV WILL STILL STEP IN AS HUNTRESS. "but they'll know he's not a woman" COWARDS. just give him a dye job and he'll look like helena. all white people look the same. he can pad the fucking suit or he can get the fuck out.
as for steph, she will absolutely be a vigilante alongside the huntress. her father is still cluemaster, after all, so she'll follow a similar arc to canon except it's helena and not bruce that she'll develop a complex mentor relationship with!!
i think helena can see a little of herself in steph. i think part of helena envies steph's moral compass also. iirc at steph's age, helena still thought her mafia family was okay & that it was just the people who killed them that were bad. yet steph, who's half her age, has no such illusions about her father, and is already fighting to try and bring him down
cass!!!! cass will still come to gotham!!!!! i can't see a way for cass to be on bruce's side in this au simply bc of how strong her morals are. she killed a man and never ever wanted to kill again, even with shiva where it was kill or be killed, she had already made up her mind to let herself be killed in the end. so she is going to be on the vigilante side :]
also, it would be amazing for me personally if cass came to gotham during azbats (...azhuntress?) era. ohhh lord. a situation RIPE for incredible interactions
i still haven't read damian & duke comics properly yet so that's going to have to be added in the future. but that's what's been rattling around in my brain so far!

hi ana! i really want to start your updated ditft challenge because it looks like so much fun! i was just wondering if you have any tips for spouses when it comes to careers? do you suggest picking something similar for them (so when i'm a farmer, they're a fisher, for example) or just going with whatever career they might already have or something unconventional (like horseriding competitions)? my 'fear' is that my spouse has a career that i will roll for the next gen lol. do you have any tips?
so whenever i do my ditf challenge, i believe i simply just choose the job based off of their LTW, if its like a random legacy, then obviously, both the spouse and the heir have randomized careers! im like the worst when it comes to this! ;-; one thing you can also do is if you choose a career for the spouse and then roll it again for the spouse the next gen, you can always reroll!

Challenging myself to hammer out a Jason robin personality that avoids and excludes anything starlin wrote. Sorry, the cult, you’re a sacrifice I’m willing to make.
98% “she got sick” fib, Jason loves his momma so much
1% “Batman and Robin, two boys that lost their parents to crime” Jason’s robin was always good
1% was Jason pretending to be a nerd to match dick “can’t stop himself from naming physics principles as he encounters them” Grayson? <- so glad he mostly grew out of that. Dorothy Anne ass titan
+ I know it was dicks hair first but retroactively the 🖤 bangs being Jason’s look is how it should be. In my heart. If you’re a dick fan and this upsets you consider: Jason was a ragamuffin with messy hair and when he could start styling it he started doing his hair to look like his papa. Willis also had the stupid bangs. So.
Even if he dismissed him with line like “probably in jail again” Jason was using skills related to his car thief, chop shop running father and stealing and selling car parts, and then emulated his look because, even if he doesn’t like him so much, willis is still his papa and a male role model.
Jason growing up with Alfred and Bruce and dick to look up to and diversify the default mental model Jason might have of what adult masculinity looks like. This is what they (starlin) stole from us. Actually thinking about it- did Dark Knight come out before ditf? Did starlin just chase Miller’s fumes Re: killing Jason? I need to reign myself in and have a rational level of Starlin disliking I just don’t like him <3 and it’s deserved. Because he WAS just chasing Miller’s success and huffing paint and desperately trying to make himself relevant. TDKR was two years before DiTF. Good lord. Me and my friends would have been hitting starlin with hammers I can tell you that much.

I love that challenge but I'm a tiny bit bored with it and I want to make it fun for myself to play! (I think I also like having a lot of goals to do in a generation so maybe if I come back to it I'll probably mash it with another challenge or smth) my cosmic save is still retired too, who knows when I'll go back to that all I care about rn is my Hix save and my story saves

touchpoint textile showcases pioneering textile printing solutions at drupa
Tumblr media
By establishing touchpoint textile, drupa has created a special forum to showcase pioneering applications in digital textile printing. The highlight will be the Digital Textile Micro Factory – a fully connected, integrated process chain starting with the customer enquiry and design through to large-format digital textile printing.
As the leading global trade fair for print technologies, drupa tracks the rising importance of digital textile printing and underscores its standing as the impulse generator and driver for new lines of business in the print sector. touchpoint textile represents drupa’s growing expansion into new markets comprising such segments as packaging production, large-format or industrial and functional printing next to packaging production. All of these segments are undergoing the same transformation processes and offer enormous growth potential.
Renowned partners to implement touchpoint textile
The special forum revolves around the opportunities and challenges of digital textile printing, brings together renowned exhibitors, industry partners and brand owners and provides scope for cross-industry cooperation, new projects as well as product and manufacturing ideas. The operational content partners of touchpoint textile include the German Institutes for Textile and Fibre Research Denkendorf (DITF), as Europe’s largest textile research centre, as well as ESMA, the European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association.
Digital Textile Micro Factory: on-demand and virtual products – on the path towards sustainable production
In cooperation with 12 partners from industry and research the DITF will demonstrate a Digital Textile Micro Factory live at drupa and, hence, a fully connected, integrated process chain from design to finished product. This will present new possibilities for digitalisation and direct customer involvement, for instance in the form of 3D apparel simulations complete with links to design networks for creative input. Digital workflows and virtual products are integrated directly in the manufacturing process. As a special highlight for all trade visitors the technology partners of this Micro Factory will demonstrate an automated on-demand production, textile printing, cutting and sorting – without any manual interaction. Such decentralised and digitally connected design and production chains will enable the textile industry to respond to customers’ requests and trends in a more targeted manner in future. This means, touchpoint textile 2024 technologically points the way to a future without shelf-warmers. In addition, the carbon footprint for the complete process from virtual development to finished product will be modelled and presented at the trade fair.
Impressive programme
The agenda will feature many exciting projects such as the efficient personalised production of sports and outerwear from sustainable materials in one consistent digital workflow. For instance, the Digital Textile Micro Factory at drupa will produce various products with a focus on shirts and singlets for cycling.
2024 will see the design competition “drupa – textile design talents” being held for the first time. This was conceived of by the DITF and will be implemented by the partner Mitwill. This provides up-coming textile designers and newcomers with a unique opportunity to introduce their ideas and visions to a professional audience.
Broad industry support
A project as comprehensive as the Micro Factory requires many strong partners. The companies “on board” here include: Assyst/Germany (3D simulation for digital apparel twins), Mitwill Textiles Europe/France (creative design network), D.G.I. Digital Graphics Incorporation/South Korea, Multi-Plot Europe/Germany (large-format textile printing), LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung/Germany, Zünd/Switzerland (digital cutting), robot factory/Denmark, Asco/The Netherlands (presenting an innovative buffer solution between digital printing and cutting, automated sorting of cut parts from the cutter by robotfactory) as well as Brother/Japan (for small-format textile printing and bonding technology). Vaude and Berger textiles will be sponsoring the touchpoint. Another key partner is the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University that is supporting the project as a conceptual sponsor and which has set itself the clear mission to incorporate these new topics into its curriculum. This means the staff of the future will be geared up to the new challenges ahead.
Inspiring conference programme
Another partner of touchpoint textile is the European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association (ESMA), which is responsible for the lecture programme. ESMA represents industrial, functional and specialist printing and acts as an organiser of educational events in the field of textile printing. At drupa speakers from research, development, and industry will address issues related to printing and finishing techniques, workflows, market developments and sustainability, to name but a few. The focus will also be on trends and applications that unlock ever new potential through the interplay of digital printing and textile printing substrates. The lectures are divided into the categories Research, Finishing, Print Systems & Hardware, Substrates, Inks & Chemistry and Software & Electronics. Assyst, for example, will deliver talks on the virtual development of apparel as well as the research project ECOShoring, which is funded by the “Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt” – DBU (German Federal Environmental Foundation) and focuses on personalised and on-demand sustainable manufacturing. Other speakers represent Adobe, Balta Group, Barbieri Electronic, Brother, Centexbel, CST, DITF, Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems, HS Albsig, Kornit Digital, Meteor Inkjet, Mimaki, Mitwill, Multiplot, Print-Rite, RWTH Aachen, Seiko Instruments, Tiger Coatings, Xaar, Zünd and the list is updated on regular basis.
Digital textile printing will also form a key component of exhibitor ranges beyond the special forum touchpoint textile. This will enable trade visitors to gain a 360-degree view of current developments and trends in textile printing.
drupa will be held at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 28 May to 7 June 2024. For details on the programme, partners and speakers at the various special forums go to: https://www.drupa.com/en/Program
For further details on the Digital Micro Factory we recommend the White Paper by the DTIF: https://www.ditf.de/en/index/more-information/interactive-whitepaper-on-textile-microfactory-and-distributed-production.html

Dartmoor Garden Show - First Impressions
The new Hitman seasonal mission is out and I’ve played thru it a couple of times and I’d say it’s pretty good. I’m feeling a 4/5 when compared to other escalations and a 3/5 when judged as a new map to play in
The first positive I’ll give is the visuals. Dartmoor looks gorgeous, it already did before but it was more of a wilted rose kind of beauty whereas this is more scenic. The use of music and iconography from past locations is a great touch, it’s a little self referential but when you have such a wide library of assets and themes you dont need to make much new in order to sell an atmosphere. The suburbia soundtrack fits with the more mischievous tone the Garden Show mission is going for
Another plus I will give it is the use of the location. Dartmoor is one of my favorites of the new levels Hitman 3 introduced, along with Berlin and Mendoza, but my biggest criticism is a lack of life to the level. Theres a lot of NPCs there but aside from Alexa they barely move and the house doesnt have a dynamic feel to it like it should. Like for example in Whittleton Creek people are going in and out the party, people are jogging, theres a politician and mailman making the rounds. It’s quiet suburbia but people are still doing stuff. In a big mansion a cleaner shouldnt be dusting the same shelf for two hours. The Garden Show adds a lot to change the outside of the area and grows the hedges in order to make these walls for these gardens to be in. Which means you can get up to mischief without getting caught, which is kind of a cool element of the hedge patterns in the original level was you were only half safe and they couldve maybe used that in the future but that would probably work better for an ET over a refurbished bonus map. Dartmoor now feels more alive and while the new NPCs dont have long routes like a proper bonus mission, I can understand why this is still an escalation, I think it’s better than what it was before
Lastly, for the negatives, the challenge count for this new map is pretty low. I feel like this is something Hitman 3 does consciously but I think that even by its standards there could’ve been more. The map has contracts mode enabled but no challenges can be completed on a DGS contract, not even some generic ones from the regular DitF mission. I think the idea of having a deterministic mode after you complete the mission is good, but I think the whole thing of then replaying the escalation again but in almost like a COYA style is a little bit overly convoluted when the deterministic mode could’ve just been a level four that has all the potential targets enabled. And to nitpick I think the escalation’s targets are maybe a little too reliant in just going from one accident to another, but I can just play the upcoming contracts that will be made for it if I want to get a less handed to you experience. I also think that trying to get people into escalations using stuff like this is a lost cause, the Hitman format works best in a one stage mission and I think all future bonus maps should be Special Assignments or full on proper Bonus Missions
Overall I’m pretty happy with this new addition, it’s on par with the Holiday Hoarders bonus mission to me putting it a little above Berlin Egg Hunt and a lot above Hokkaido Snow Festival
