How to Make Natural Cosmetics at Home
Do you love using makeup but worry about the harmful chemicals and microplastics in commercial products? Do you want to save money and reduce waste by making your own cosmetics at home? If you answered yes, then this blog post is for you!
In this post, I will show you how to make natural cosmetics at home using simple and safe ingredients that you can find in your kitchen or local health store. You will learn how to make your own lip gloss, blush, bronzer, and more, using natural ingredients such as coconut oil, beeswax, cocoa powder, and beetroot. These homemade cosmetics are not only good for your skin, but also for the environment, as they are biodegradable and plastic-free.
Ready to get started? Let's begin with the lip gloss!
Homemade Lip Gloss
Tumblr media
Lip gloss is a great way to add some shine and color to your lips, but many store-bought lip glosses contain synthetic dyes, fragrances, and preservatives that can irritate your lips and harm your health. Instead, you can make your own lip gloss using natural oils, waxes, and pigments that will moisturize and nourish your lips.
To make your own lip gloss, you will need:
- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon of beeswax pellets
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- A few drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
- A pinch of natural pigment, such as beetroot powder, cocoa powder, or mica powder (optional)
To make your lip gloss, follow these steps:
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the coconut oil and beeswax together, stirring occasionally.
- Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the honey and essential oil (if using).
- Add the pigment of your choice and mix well until you get the desired color and consistency.
- Pour the mixture into a small glass jar or tin and let it cool completely.
- Enjoy your homemade lip gloss!
Homemade Blush
Tumblr media
Blush is a great way to add some color and glow to your cheeks, but many store-bought blushes contain talc, parabens, and artificial colors that can clog your pores and cause skin problems. Instead, you can make your own blush using natural powders, clays, and flowers that will give you a healthy and natural flush.
To make your own blush, you will need:
- 2 tablespoons of arrowroot powder
- 1 teaspoon of beetroot powder
- 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
- A few drops of rose water or glycerin (optional)
To make your blush, follow these steps:
- In a small bowl, mix the arrowroot powder, beetroot powder, and cocoa powder together until you get the desired shade and intensity.
- If you want a creamier texture, add a few drops of rose water or glycerin and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a small glass jar or tin and press it firmly with a spoon or your fingers.
- Enjoy your homemade blush!
Homemade Bronzer
Bronzer is a great way to add some warmth and contour to your face, but many store-bought bronzers contain mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, and nanoparticles that can irritate your skin and disrupt your hormones. Instead, you can make your own bronzer using natural powders, spices, and oils that will give you a sun-kissed and radiant look.
To make your own bronzer, you will need:
- 2 tablespoons of arrowroot powder
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
- A few drops of almond oil or jojoba oil (optional)
To make your bronzer, follow these steps:
- In a small bowl, mix the arrowroot powder, cinnamon powder, and cocoa powder together until you get the desired shade and intensity.
- If you want a creamier texture, add a few drops of almond oil or jojoba oil and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a small glass jar or tin and press it firmly with a spoon or your fingers.
- Enjoy your homemade bronzer!
These are just some of the natural cosmetics that you can make at home using simple and safe ingredients. You can also experiment with different ingredients and colors to create your own unique and personalized products. By making your own cosmetics, you can not only save money and reduce waste, but also protect your health and the environment.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and learned something new. If you want to know more about how to make natural cosmetics at home, you can check out some of the resources that I have found for you. Thank you for reading and have a beautiful day!😘

In this article, we’ll explain the basics of laundry detergent and why it’s important for a sustainable home. We’ll also provide step-by-step instructions for making a homemade laundry detergent that is both effective and eco-friendly.
What is Laundry Detergent?
Laundry detergent is a cleaning agent that is used to wash fabrics and other items. It usually contains surfactants, enzymes, and other chemicals that help to break down dirt and stains. Different types of detergent are used for different types of fabrics, so it’s important to choose the right one for your needs.
Why is it Important for a Sustainable Home?
When it comes to sustainability, laundry detergent is an important factor. Many store-bought detergents contain harsh chemicals that can be harmful to the environment. These chemicals can end up in our water supply, which can have a negative impact on wildlife and human health.
Using a natural, eco-friendly detergent is one of the best ways to reduce your carbon footprint and make your home more sustainable. Plus, it’s much better for your skin and clothing!
Step-by-Step Guide to Making a Homemade Laundry Detergent
Making your own detergent is easy and cost-effective. Here’s how to do it:

2 cups of washing soda
1/2 cup of citric acid
1/2 cup of salt
Essential oils (optional)
Instructions

If desired, add a few drops of essential oils for a pleasant scent.
Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and store it in a cool, dry place.
To use, add one tablespoon of detergent to a full load of laundry.
Tips for Using Your Homemade Detergent
For best results, use warm or hot water.
To boost cleaning power, add a half-cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle.
For extra-tough stains, let the garment soak in a solution of equal parts water and laundry detergent for 30 minutes before washing.
For a fabric softener, add one cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle.

I'm not allowed to burn things in my apartment, which makes giving offerings at my shrine very difficult. I've heard Hekate and others like lavender quite a lot, so I got an essential oil diffuser (that looks like its a fire) and I'm gonna make my own lavender essential oil to diffuse in it instead of burning the flowers. Essential oil is far too expensive, and if you look around, you can find affordable bulk lavender online.
Anyway, do you think I bought enough lavender?

Enhance Your Candle Experience with the Best Acrylic Tea Light Cups and Essential Oil Fragrances
Tumblr media
Candles have been a symbol of warmth, light, and relaxation for centuries. In today's world, they have evolved into more than just sources of illumination—they represent personal style, relaxation, and the art of aromatherapy. Whether you’re a candle enthusiast or someone just diving into the candle world, understanding the best acrylic tea light cup for candles and the top candle fragrances with essential oils can truly transform your ambiance. Not to forget, the rise of high-quality fragrance oils like the Aai Planet Coffee Bean Fragrance Oil has added a whole new dimension to this experience.
The Evolution of Candle Holders
Tea light candles, due to their small and convenient size, have become an essential element for many homes. They add a gentle glow to any room, making them perfect for dining tables, shelves, or even bathrooms. But to truly enjoy their warmth and light, pairing them with the best acrylic tea light cup for candle enhances not only their safety but also their aesthetics.
Why Acrylic Tea Light Cups?
Glass and ceramic candle holders have been the go-to for years, but acrylic tea light cups are increasingly gaining popularity. Here’s why:
Durability: Acrylic cups are resistant to shattering, making them an ideal choice, especially in households with kids or pets.
Lightweight: Unlike glass or metal, acrylic is light and easy to handle, making it convenient for moving or repositioning candles.
Clarity: Modern acrylic mimics the clear finish of glass, allowing the flame's glow to shine through brightly, enhancing the candle’s visual appeal.
Variety: Available in multiple designs and shapes, you can find the best acrylic tea light cup for candle that matches your décor, whether you want something minimalist or intricate.
In addition to these features, acrylic tea light cups come in a range of colors, allowing you to coordinate them with your candle fragrances, creating a cohesive look and feel in your home. For those looking to experiment with new designs, acrylic’s versatility makes it the perfect choice for creative DIY projects.
Choosing the Best Acrylic Tea Light Cup for Candle
When selecting the best acrylic tea light cup for candle, consider the following factors:
Size Compatibility: Not all tea light candles are the same size. Ensure the cup can comfortably fit the standard tea light size (usually about 38mm in diameter).
Heat Resistance: Quality acrylic should be heat-resistant to prevent warping or damage from the candle’s flame.
Design Aesthetics: Whether you’re after a modern or classic look, the design of the cup should complement the candle and the surrounding space.
Ease of Cleaning: Acrylic tea light holders are easy to clean, but look for those that are scratch-resistant to maintain their clarity over time.
The Power of Candle Fragrances
While candle holders contribute to the visual beauty of a candle, fragrances are what truly captivate the senses. Essential oils have become increasingly popular in candle making, due to their natural and soothing properties. The world of aromatherapy candles is vast, but choosing the top candle fragrances with essential oils can elevate your space into a haven of tranquility.
Why Use Essential Oils in Candles?
There are numerous reasons why candle makers are leaning towards essential oil fragrances:
Natural and Safe: Essential oils are derived from plants, making them a natural alternative to synthetic fragrances.
Aromatherapy Benefits: Essential oils offer a range of therapeutic benefits. Lavender, for example, promotes relaxation, while citrus oils energize the mind.
Environmental Friendliness: Candles with essential oil-based fragrances are eco-friendly as they don't release harmful chemicals when burned.
Customizable Scents: You can easily blend different oils to create custom scents. This flexibility makes it possible to design fragrances that match your mood, occasion, or season.
Top Candle Fragrances with Essential Oils
Here are some of the top candle fragrances with essential oils you should consider for your home:
Lavender: Known for its calming properties, lavender is a top choice for bedrooms and relaxation spaces.
Eucalyptus: This refreshing scent is perfect for open spaces or areas where you need a mental boost.
Citrus: Lemon, orange, and grapefruit essential oils offer bright, energizing fragrances that are ideal for kitchens or living rooms.
Peppermint: Perfect for winter months, peppermint essential oil provides a crisp, invigorating scent.
Rose: For a more romantic or luxurious feel, rose essential oil offers a deep, soothing fragrance that adds elegance to any room.
By selecting the top candle fragrances with essential oils, you not only ensure a pleasant aroma but also benefit from the natural therapeutic effects these oils provide.
