One of my players ran a heist oneshot! So I rolled up stats for a shadow sorcerer of mine. She's also from House Roselorre, so her whole family is full of wizards and sorcerers. The shadow magic was a complete surprise to her parents and caused multiple crises so she tries not to use it too publicly

Barista: "Welcome! What can get for you today?" Dwarf: "Eh, just a large caramel frap please." Barista: "Wonderful!" The Alchemy Blunderbuss uses "essences" to imbue bullets with different damage types, even slashing and bludgeoning! The ascended version does much of the same, but is "upgraded" so to speak.

it's kind of weird to think about dnd modern AUs with the gnomes specifically, because they're all ~young adults, physically and developmentally around my age or a little younger, and in a dnd setting that's the strongest angle I have to work with for roleplaying them, but also if my vague idea of a modern au takes place [handwaves] now, more or less, then felix and mel would have both been kids in the 60s and 70s and have a bunch of cultural life experiences I cannot relate to at all

Unfortunate: My wife, a player in a long-running Pathfinder 2e campaign that I run, immediately clocked when I was in the middle of trying to design a DCA-inspired NPC and demanded, nay, begged for me not to go through with it. I love my wife and alas, he will be unused

Fortunate: I now have a DCA oc/ttrpg AU and I'm going to figure out how I can make things about him. His name is Celest (short for Celestial) and he's an Automaton Oracle who specializes in astrological magics and somehow has two (or more) souls stuck inside his automaton core. He's a couple hundred years old (in terms of being in his current form/life) and tends to keep to himself and away from major cities.

So, I wanna talk about an interesting concept in Dnd that has really got my urban fantasy brain go burrr..

So, in Dnd there is a background called giant folding that really got my urban fantasy brain going. Imagine being raised by beings that are much Much larger than you and knowing how to use large objects better than smaller objects. Especially moving into a place like a city, while they might feel fine with the looming skyscrapers and apartment high-rises but, it's also claustrophobic. While being use to the open spaces of a large home with items and people much much bigger than you being in a cramped city would be more stressful at most.

It's more personal than he cares for, echoing too plainly his too-raw heart, and silently, he thanks the ambient lighting rippled soft and golden; to it, he can almost believed his heart's not seen.
