Rant: Internet Safety

Internet Safety is going out the window on Twitter. Many people in the replies and some in quote tweets think that this person is right and that they should actually give out your age to the internet.

YOU. DO. NOT. NEED. TO. GIVE. OUT. YOUR. AGE.

DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR AGE TO STRANGERS! If a stranger ask block. If you feel unease about them or someone for some reason? Block.

The Blocking feature is your friend... ABUSE THAT BUTTON.

Talked to a person that will ask those that say they are a minor for their actual age just so they can block them. Don't be like that person. Literally just block, that is predatory behavior asking minors their age. You don't need "confirmation" that they are a literal child under 13. Literally block if you just feel unease about them. It's not that hard. Asking them for their age after they told you they are a minor, is predatory behavior.

Doesn't matter if you do not plan to do it for malicious intent. It's predatory to ask a minor their age. Wanna know why I know this, because at one point I did that for a living. I caught predators and reported them to the police. You know what they always do, they target those that give out their actual age in their bio or post (Most popular targets were those as young as 14 to 16. Had one target a 12yr old).

Internet safety is important and people need to learn to just look away and not ask for age. Having the word minor on your profile make you a target as well however not a huge one. People understand that majority of times minor on profile is being use to replace the age 16 or 17 (sometimes younger but I only seen those that are 16 or 17).

Now, Minors this goes to you too. Please, block people who make you feel icky. Block people who ask for your age, they don't have the right to your privacy.

In the Twitter space, their culture is that if you block the other person they win. Hey, listen here, no one give two shit about them having a medal around their neck saying they got blocked by you. They are a sore loser with a large kick me sign for everyone to see.

How to know the sign of a predator. Minors I understand this is terrifying and I'm sorry for giving you more anxiety but understand that anyone can be a predator. Even those of your age can be a predator.

Being a predator isn't always going to be grown adults. If someone that is your age is making jokes about things that makes you uncomfortable but goes as far as to tell you there is nothing wrong with it (when really there is because they are just obsessed on making that certain joke to you and know that makes you uncomfortable) That is what grooming/manipulation is.

They want you to become numb to it. The moment you do, they will then start pushing your boundaries and see how far they can go and what they can say.

A predator will try to get close to you and ask you questions to lower your guard. After some time having your guard down they will start asking you uncomfortable questions. Remember, they want power over you and make you feel like you owe them.

Know the red flags and act quickly when you see them. DO NOT WAIT.

Waiting is the worse thing you can do. It's okay to have doubts but if you have so many red flags to a person then chances are your gut is right and something isn't right.

Red flags that I know

#1: They are far too friendly. Constantly, agreeing with you and not disagreeing with you. They see you have no wrong just so they can get close.

#2: They push your boundaries over and over again. They want to see what they can and can't say. The moment you don't care is the moment they see that as an invitations to do more.

#3: The same with boundaries but they want you to be normalize with them sending either disturbing images or straight up nude. The moment you normalize it they will push further.

#4: Asking to be in a group chat or invite you to one. They ask to be in a group chat and they act like this. They want you to defend them and say that they do this all the time. They want you to normalize this to your friends.

They invite you to one. After you grew numb or been normalize to their behavior they would want to introduce you to their friends. This is the part were the grooming process is near complete.

For both scenarios, they want you to be okay with it. They want you to hopefully help "recruit" more. That is where you have been groomed and were taught/brainwashed into thinking that it is okay to do this.

#5: They want to cut you away from your friends and family. They would do whatever it takes to not lose you. They would do drastic things to you such as say they would harm themselves. They want to take you away from your friends and family. They want to convinces you that it's only you two verses the world.

I'm sure there are more but these are the ones I know and from experience. It's okay to be wary. It's okay to be anxious. It is not okay to ignore the red flags and try to fix it all on your own. The internet is dangerous and the moment you forget that you will be a victim.

RE: user malakiwi's "plagiarism" claims

Recently, user @malakiwis has claimed that they were plagiarized by another fic writer. This is false.

HERE is the drive with all of the evidence documenting malakiwi (kai's) plagiarism. The drive contains downloaded versions of their fic, along with videos proving that it is their fic. The drive also contains a document with screenshots and detailed explanations of many of the fics they plagiarized, along with proof of their plagiarism.

There were a total of 7 fics that we could prove were plagiarized.

With Kai's claims that these other stories were plagiarized from them, we wanted to make sure that the authors they stole from were being fairly represented in this process, and that the theft and hurt were being addressed rather than hidden in private conversations and deleted stories.

This post was solely made in response to Kai making it public, as we had wanted to keep things private and out of the spotlight.

ALSO NOTE: PLEASE do not witchhunt kai. This is meant to spread awareness about fandom etiquette, and fan culture etiquette, and to shed light on Kai's blatant plagiarism against particular authors, not to "expose" or "cancel them". Do not send them or any of the authors listed in here hate. Witch hunts and hatred solve nothing. Some of you may be familiar with this person but if you dont know who Rebjastonia is, she is an artist known for her Record of Ragnarok ocs, especially this one here

This girlie here is Femit, “the 14th valkyrie” and the daughter of Adamas. Ok here is when it gets interesting, “she is the youngest valkyrie, even younger than Göll and she is often hidden.” My problem with Femit is that she doesn’t even look that young at all and second, there are canonly only 13 valks in Record Of Ragnarok, and obviously Göll being the youngest. You cant even add another valkyrie to the story unless if its an au of who were the original valkyries before the ones we all know and love in RoR. (unless if you count Zerofuku from round 6)

MOVING ON TO THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS

When I scrolled in her profile, I noticed some of her art looked off. Some of you fellow viewers may ask “Caro, is there anything wrong with any of her works” well, the mold grows here….

Take a closer look at this gentleman by the name of Sobek, the egyptian crocodile god…. I dont fucking remember im sorry.

If you look closely, you could even find this oc’s pose familiar. You guessed it, the official render of Adam from the anime.

long story short: my family on my mom's side all practice Greek folk magic, with my great-grandma and(possibly my great aunt)apparently being "completely" a witch.

i grew up with it but i'm still learning the language and my family disowned me for being gay so I can't ask for help with research.

the most commonly used term for "witch" is "magissa"/ μάγισσα right?? is μαγεία more common for magic in general? when I'm using Google translate γητεία seems to be the most common term for folk sorcery.

This topic is not niche, actually! The average Greek in the country has some basic contact and knowledge of such stuff either by doing some or by hearing of them. I haven't talked a lot about Magganeia/Vaskaneia in Greece so let's do a Masterpost!

(Greeks with deeper knowledge please add to this post and let me know if something is inaccurate! All I have is "average Greek" knowledge but well, someone has to make the start.)

People throughout Greece (as in the whole Balkans and the Middle East tbh) practice a lot of customs to bring good energy and good things to them or expel bad energies and bad things. The most prevalent being the ritual of xematiasma (the prayer for which needs to be passed down by the opposite sex on a full moon), or customs with bridal koufeta for young girls to attract a good groom, reading the coffee and the palm, explaining dreams (and having recorded oneirokrites), giving new year talismans for good luck (mati beads, pomegranate charms, horseshoes) and hanging them around the home, or baking a pie to St. Fanourios if you want to find something you lost etc etc.

Traditionally such practices in Greece are intertwined with local customs and herb knowledge and it's not a big "issue" like it would be for USAmerican (cultural or practicing) Evangelicals. In Greece it's acceptable to do many things that in the US would be considered "witchcraft" but here they're just "tradition".

For Greeks the basic stuff I mentioned in the first paragraph is widely accepted to the point many of them have fused with church practices through the centuries. Coffee shops where one can have their coffee and palm read - although not many - have lots of customers. Tarot readers also have a good clientele. I've heard Greeks dismiss such stuff as "nonsense" but rarely dismiss them as "evil". Actually, the comments about such practices being evil here are very tame and usually connected to the church - but not in the US way.

Our Church might have cried about such practices in the past but... who listens to the church on these things! :P (only a few do) Our insistence on keeping folk practice led to Greece having no witch hunts or any witches burnt for at least a thousand years now!

There is a line here, too, of course. Like, if one uses a heart from a mouse wrapped in an oak leaf bathed in frog bile to expel the bad spirits (a spell I just made up) that's officially "witchcraft" and we find it weird at best. More mild stuff like burning wishes written on paper or letting garlic absorb bad energies and then burn it are middle ground and not outright condemned - I feel the Greeks have a great tolerance of what is considered "folk tradition" to them.

The fear of being "pagan" in recent centuries is a Western panic. Traditionally Greeks and their Church were most worried about harmful spells (which included harming an animal or human in the process) and calling demons to do your bidding. If you called a saint for help in a non-harming spell... hmm that wouldn't be that worrying I guess. As long as you didn't ask a priest's opinion, you'd be fine :P

The sum of acceptable and unacceptable practices by the Greek public can be called "μαγγανεία" or "βασκανεία". Because they include unacceptable practices as well, the words have a negative connotation.

"Μαγεία" for Greeks is connected more to the Western archetype of a wizard with a tall hat going around with a big rod shouting "abracadabra". It's connected more to fantasy and fairytales. Traditionally I don't think we used μάγος/μάγισσα for people who did such practices. Even today I've yet to hear Greeks who call themselves witches say "κάνω μαγικά".

I'd say μαγγανεία or βασκανεία are the appropriate terms for what your great-grandma practiced. The spells are traditionally called γητείες (sing. γητεία). The word γόης which now means "very charming man" meant "sorcerer" in ancient years. We just use it metaphorically today. These words all have the same linguistic root.

Nowadays I haven't heard men call themselves "μάγος" but some women call themselves "μάγισσα", and they do "ξόρκια" (comes from εξορκισμός, exorcism - the English version of the Greek word). I think "μάγισσες" practice more Western types of magic because they learned the spells from Western European or US books and videos. I don't know if a practicer of Greek folk spells would be called the same.

I must note that all the above is the reason why when USAmericans practice Greek customs to worship the Greek gods and call themselves "pagans" feels a bit unsettling to me. I suppose if you add crystal balls and tarot and crystals to the practice that would shift it more to the "witchy" side (although as a Greek I'm quite flexible :P) But more than once I've seen USians call themselves "pagans" for simple acts of worship which are very much non-pagan. At the same time, I understand that in their society this can be called "being pagan" so I'm not saying that my view is the only one that matters in this. But some knowledge of the Greek culture always helps if you're practicing its customs. It will also help the Westerners stop calling Orthodoxes "savage pagans" for our religious practices after a thousand years :))))

Hell nah. That's personal to you, and you can only figure that out. Please do not message us for this, we will delete it and block you.

How do I put in a confession?

Set it to anon first of all! Then begin your confession with "p-shifting/p-shifter culture is..." and then say whatever you would like to say! Please, only send things related to your nonhumanity/p-shifting.

What isnt okay to send in?

Hate, methods, asking how to p-shift, misanthropy with action that is going to be behind it (harming other humans, etc.), self harm (we are triggered by it), discourse of any sort from the past / present within the community, your opinion on how horrible p-shifting is, and images of any type. All of these will be deleted, along with if your ask isn't anon.

Why does this blog exist?

Well, we just felt like making a blog to allow others to share p-shifting confessions. There's a lot of stigma around p-shifters, and we hope that seeing a glimpse into our lives can help dissolve the hate and witchhunting.

Does this enable abusive p-shifters?

Of course not. This is a positivity blog for p-shifters, and we only allow people with good intentions to be here / share their experiences. We do not allow or think that people who claim to be p-shifters AND are using this to abuse/manipulate others should be given a safe place. We will not teach p-shifting. Do not expect us to allow others looking to become p-shifters to enable them. Being a p-shifter is incredibly personal and cannot be taught. We fiercely believe in learning your own path and abandoning the idea that there is a set method that works for everyone to shift to. As always, every community has abusive, or manipulative people, but not every single person in that community is abusive.

Do they support _______ ?

We prefer to stay out of the discourse that exists anywhere on the internet. Our opinions on the matters outside of this blog do not matter to this blog, please do not ask us to if we are pro or anti of anything.

Obviously, this is a support page for p-shifters. That is all that is required for you to know, and they will not cover any other topics that don't relate to p-shifting.

Who runs this blog?

One person only, who goes by 🐌🐾. They use we/they/it pronouns. They are a feline p-shifter. We may consider allowing others to join the team, but for now one person is sufficient.

I used to be very, VERY violently anti-radqueer. I would be the person in your anon asks sending you de@th threats, trauma dumping, and calling you horrible things. I would be the person posting you to hate groups and telling them to witchhunt you. I would go out of my way to infiltrate rq safe spaces just to see how many beings I could trigger before I got banned because I wanted every rq to d1e. I now spend hours every day helping trans-id folkel using my cis-ids. I feel horrible, because I fear that I never truly changed and I am scared that I am still trying to hurt the lovely folkel who come to me for help. I cannot talk about this fear, however, because I do not want to scare my lovely community. The account I use to help others was initially made to subtly give them harmful advice, to try and see how many I could hurt before I was caught. While I was finding tags to use to try and hurt as many folkel as possible, I saw a lot of posts that made me truly think about my actions. I had only hated so much because of what I was told, but I never really looked to see what the "problem" with radqueers was myself. As I kept looking, I realized more and more that the folkel I was harassing and trying to harm were just folkel. When I recieved my first ask, I wasn't fully convinced. My first draft of the post was laced with subtly harmful information. As I made sure all the tags I were using were correct and saw more posts it just clicked at some point, yknow? I looked at my post and realized what I was doing. I rewrote it, putting in the best info I could and checking every single word twice so I could make sure I wasn't accidentally harming them. In my still slightly-anti mind, I justified it by "oh, I'm just gaining trust!" Then I got another ask. And then another. And I kept making sure I didn't accidentally hurt them. And then I started looking at rq posts for fun. I realized how fun the community was, and that I was so much less stressed. I didn't have to scour and revise every single post a hundred million times to make sure I didn't say something that someone else found problematic for whatever reason (I know that contradicts what I just said, but initially I only looked so hard because I was still in my "cause harm" mindset, I don't have to anymore.), I didn't have to listen to all the negativity about everyone who wasn't "normal," in this community folkel were allowed to be who they were! I haven't ever seen a community so supportive of eachother! I love the radqueer community now and identify as radqueer, and I'm so happy every time I get to help someone. I feel horrible for my past actions, and being able to confess them anonymously is almost euphoric. If you think you know who I am, you don't. Please don't try to figure out who I am.

Alright, I would love more head canons or a story, but if you would please humour me. You have mentioned several times that either Alfred just straight up doesn't see mythical creatures by either sleeping through it in his tent with his bro or avoiding them just in general when he can. You also mentioned Mathew also saw them and just thought himself crazy. An imagery penny for your thoughts of the young boys and their Wendigos and other things that go bump in the night. Also if they believe in their local gods/guardian spirits and stuff.

I'll have to do Matt at another time because this got long but Alfred has a sense of things, and I think he's much more afraid of things he can't shoot than Matt because Alfred came into the world, and everything is noticed. In the more fanciful parts of my universe, Alfred raised the dead; he disturbed the spirits; he pulled the fae from their realms just by coming into being. This is a large part, besides the literary invention of America, of why I have him born at the end of the 16th century when, under the Reign of Elizabeth I, there was something of a renaissance of folk belief before the witchhunt of the mid-17th.
