romcom hasn't been romcoming this hard since... GOSH I don't know?!! when was the last time I saw a romcom in kdramaland that hooked me this much? that made me think everything was perfect??? 2019?? wth?

sdfghjkl!!!! the way this scene was so random at first and now it has so much depth and heartbreak! ugh!!

The thing about romcoms in kdramas, that I LOVE, is that a really good one is able to give you equal measures of romance, heart, comedy and good drama/angst. That, paired up with good acting, AMAZING chemistry and just the right touch of fantasy is pretty much a *chef's kiss*. Is just everything you could ask for but were afraid to hope for, does that make sense??

HAHAHAHAHA I love that she is basically a liar and a terrible one. None of what she says makes sense (tbh telling the truth also wouldn't lol) but I love that he tries to believe her or wants to, very much.

Also, it's hilarious that her superpower is freezing time to avoid revealing spoilers from the future and she makes use of it in the most unhinged way:

And with Hyeyoon on board, I knew this project was on good hands, that girl is seriously underrated in Korea (hopefully not anymore after this) but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about WooSeok. Like, don't get me wrong, that man is GORGEOUS but the only good thing of him that I actually loved was a movie. BUT after this, wow, is like all that experience he has, finally leveled up because he is actually meeting Hyeyoon's standards of acting here, and I'm so proud and relieved. I didn't know he had it in him.

Like, excuse me? Why do you have me tearing up at the start of the episode? And omg, to think he stayed away because she was angry and he felt so guilty, even though he saved her.

I'm genuinely optimistic about the outcome of this. We all know they will get their happy ending, but I'm actually hopeful that the acting, writing and pacing will remain this good till the end. What a joy to watch a wonderful romcom with the vibes of the good old classic romcoms from the early 2010's. We're so back, baby!

I am very curious as to why she went back to the present the first time. What is the trigger? We know, because Sol figured it out, that the watch only works at midnight and she probably only has 2 chances left to change SunJae's future as long as that creepy CEO walks around his school i don't think so But what ends a trip back into the past? Is it shock from Sol? Sunjae? Something happening that's definitely off-track like TaeSun asking her to be his gf? Aarrrghh so many questions.

I finished reading the atlas paradox

and now you're subjected to my SPOILERY thoughts.

Parisa Kamali: I love Parisa, I have loved her since the first book. I LIKE HER SO MUCH she's funny she's mean she's cool she's kind. She's incredibly powerful. She's so interesting and I really enjoyed how she slowly became "her royal softness". Whenever we have her pov it's so fun. I love how she's not scared of Atlas and how she challenged him. I can't wait to see what she does in the next book. I'm actually excited to see how Dalton has changed and how she reacts to them in the next book. Her relationship with Nico makes me so feel so nice. I also need her to be kiss Reina sometime in the next book.

Nico de Varona: he's been my annoying lil baby since the first book. I loved how he became more fleshed out in this book. I loved how lonely he got, his relationship with Reina and Tristan really intrigues me. HE'S SUCH A CHILD sometimes and I love him for it. Obviously I have spent the two books insane bc I knew he was in love with Gideon, I just knew it and they're just *chef's kiss* also speaking of his relationship with people, I think him and Libby will be stunning as besties, I truly cannot perceive them as romantic. They act so sibling like or even just asshole bestie like.

Reina Mori: when we started with this series I actually had more hopes from her. I feel like she didn't do much (especially in book 2) and my girl really doesn't understand communication. If she just talked to people sigh. But honestly her God thing, I am down. Go off, I'm excited to see her go off the rails bc people didn't talk to her the way she could have understood. I am low-key in love with how funny the duo of Reina and Callum is, tbh. I also get major ace vibes from her.

Libby Rhodes: honestly she was my second least favourite amount the six when we started. She desperately needed the corruption arc we got in the later half of the book. I think I will like her a lot more now. Her crush on belen was stunning to read. I can't wait for Libby to fuck shit up, literally fuck everyone up. And I genuinely truly deeply want her relationship with Nico to just be friendship. Friendships are equally as important and the fact that the universe made them parallel to eachother is my favourite thing.

Callum Nova: honestly I didn't really like him much during the first book, he was fine but we had more interesting characters. BUT DAMN CALLUM NOVA POST HEARTBREAK?? ~~ exquisite ~~ he's so fucking funny and hopeless and sad and pathetic. he is so desperate for love and so upset that he was denied it. He's my pathetic lil meow meow. Also I would LOVE to see him use his powers more in the future. As we keep learning about it, I keep loving him. Also I need Tristan to beg Callum to take him back.

Tristan Caine: actually I didn't enjoy his povs at all in the first book, I couldn't wait for them to be over. He is still my least favourite among the six but in the second book he was more interesting and fun. I'm a lil anxious of how Atlas is gonna use him and his powers. I don't care much of him but I want him to beg Callum or regret it for the rest of his existence. Also I hate LibbyTristan as a romantic permanent thing, they can fuck around and have fun but pls end at that.

Gideon Drake: I have loved him since day 1. He was the softer kinder balance to Nico's aggressive and abrasiveness. He is so interesting, his origin and his powers. I spent both the book wishing we had more of him. Now that we are out of the library maybe he'll get to play a more active role in the book. I am obsessed with Gideon (bc Nico is obsessed with Gideon) I love the tidbits we learn about Gideon like how Libby always liked him more or how max travelled with him for the rescue of the "prince". I want Gideon to have everything he wants, that's all.

Atlas Blakeley: I have been thinking of Giancarlo Esposito as Atlas the entire time. There's no explanation it's just vibes

ok so lemme tell you i had the BIGGEST reading slump ever just as i started to read this. so this review may be a little choppy at some points because i've just pointblank forgotten some parts and don't wanna go back and re-read finny's pov just yet.

i was so on the fence about reading this because on one hand i really wanted to read finny's pov and on the other, complete and utter heartbreak.... yeah....... so anyway i read it.

when i tell you that this book had me ugly crying in the middle of the night. like seriously finny's pov?? fucking broke me. are you kidding me? the way he speaks about autumn? ugh when am i gonna find a guy like finny fr? but seriously this book had me on a rollercoaster of emotions just from the heartbreak knowing whats already gonna happen to finny as he describes how happy he is and how he can't believe autumn loves him back, to the smile i had on my face reading about 'the moms' bickering over baby stuff for autumn.

i will say this now i did expect a little more (hence the rating). i wanted idk more closure at the end there. idk rlly know how to describe it better since its 10 o'clock at night and ive had zero sleep for the past four nights in a row. but yeah i wanted something more. (bitch u wanted finny to be alive)

I root for him in season 1 but I skipped a lot of his scenes with Leonard because their relationship makes me uncomfortable and I really want to stab Leonard in the eyes every time he shows up on screen. In season 2 I found his story low-key boring and in season 3 — it's hard to watch the thing with Harlan. I actually agree with Allison on her feelings for Harlan.

2. Sissy and Viktor's relationship is cute... But I'm not a fan of it. Mainly because of the cheating 😭. I know it's an unhappy marriage and they love each other and the husband is a huge dick but still, the cheating still didn't sit right with me (which is another reason why this particular plot is hard for me to watch). I once watched this drama where the male lead married this villain and sneaked with the female lead behind her back and i felt so bad for the villain even though I hate her gut lmao.

3. Allison's character arc in season 3 is horrible and I hate watching her character digress like that but at the same time I think it is kind of justified in a way. I mean, a girl can only take so much before she pops. But it's kind of frustrating that it's OBVIOUS that the whole siblings tried to give her support. Viktor is obvious, Diego took her out to release tension, Luther always looks out for her, and even when she was arguing with Viktor, Five asked Allison if she's okay when she's the one that dropped the not okay words to Viktor. You can't say that the siblings didn't try to be there with her but she still acted selfishly.

4. This is just a minor thing but the way the Sparrow treated Grace will never stop making me feel angry. Like bro, have some respect that is your MOTHER. Or could have been. It's just heartbreaking to see how Grace ended up in the end because we see in season 1 that she could have feelings and the brellies love her but in this timelimes she's being treated like a servant 😭 AND when Diego saw Grace and look so happy and relieved to see her and then Jayme said he's a creep. SHUT UP HE LOVE HIS MOM OKAY.

5. Am I the only one who kind of ship Human Grace with Reggie in season 2? Low-key ship them and it's kind of weird but I like the potential there? And there's chemistry there.

6. Klaus can be annoying sometimes starting from season 2. I LOVE him but sometimes I want to strangle him lmao.

7. Umbrella Ben will always be an innocent precious little cinnamon roll in my heart, but in the show he can be quite horrible lmao. Possessing Klaus without his consent, preaching Klaus with the "Luther would do the same for you" in S1. Like SHUT UP BEN NO HE WON'T.

8. Lila pissed me off so much in season 2 with her relationship with Diego because why was she angry with him? Girl, he did nothing but give you heart eyes, YOU'RE the one that lied to him, betrayed him, and drugged and kidnapped him. SO WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE HE'S THE ONE THE SCREW UP!? "I even introduced you to my mom" GIRL YOU KIDNAPPED HIM. He didn't have a say in that. Stop tripping. And the things she did with Stan, is honestly not okay, wth Lila? (But they do warm up to me in season 3).

9. The romance in the show is not the greatest tbh. I don't actually ship any of the ships in the show (except for Diego and Lila at the end of S3) because they all kind of happen so fast and I felt like as soon as someone gets a love interest, that will be their first priority, their family be damned. And maybe logically this is true (I never experienced love so who am I to know) but I'm here for the family love so to see that happen pissed me off lmao. I understand their actions with their love interest but at the same time GET A GRIP.

I remember someone on twt predicted that Ken would bring misogyny and the patriarchy back to barbieland and I was like what no that's absurd, Mattel is the villain duh BUT NOPE-

That whole thing really threw me. There's honestly so much I want to say about the movie and idk how to even start tbh 😭 I really did not expect to come out of Barbie teary eyed because Barbie had an existential crisis! Just so many themes that made me emotional but especially the whole "your mom is just a girl" thing. Barbie's crisis being brought on because America's character missed playing barbie with her teenage daughter and was going through some heavy emotional stuff due to having to keep it together all the time made me sad.

Seeing Barbie herself be insecure because she's stereotypical Barbie and therefore doesn't fly jets or perform surgeries or win presidencies, etc like the other Barbies made me sad for her because she's the first Barbie. The stereotypical Barbie. That was her one job and without that she felt like nothing! But she isn't nothing! She has a purpose and I especially loved that her whole thing with Ken was that they are their own individuals. I don't understand how men didn't get that tbh. The whole message surrounding the Kens was that it's not Barbie and Ken. It's Barbie. And...it's Ken. Ken has his own identity outside of Barbie and I loved that so much.

The scene where Barbie decides if she wants to be human and she's just experiencing a brief montage of what it's like to be a woman with the crying and laughing and pain and love and heartache and whatnot almost got me. My friend was crying but I was wearing way too much makeup so I resisted but it was just so beautiful to me and she didn't hesitate to become human. This movie just made me more emotional than I expected

Heavy stuff aside, it was also hilarious. Greta is a genius. She handled so much stuff so well and the bit about "casting Margot Robbie to make this point isn't the best choice" had me howling because I lowkey agreed. Like yeah stereotypical Barbie is having an identity crisis because she doesn't feel pretty anymore but babe...you're still Margot Robbie 😭 her coming to the real world was both horrifying and funny. The realization that the real world is nothing like barbieland was heartbreaking and 😬😬😬 like yeah girl. The construction site is full of men and that feeling you're getting? It's from men leering at you. Meanwhile Ken was feeling all kinds of respected and validated 😭 anyways

after my previous reblog, i feel compelled to write a "short" post (love letter) about (to) this game

so for those of you who haven't played it, or never even heard of it, professor layton vs phoenix wright: ace attorney is a crossover game between the two franchises (you'll have guessed it from the title) and it is PAINFULLY underrated :,) (i also hear that it is now hard to get physical copies of this game at a decent price so i'm glad i kept mine)

essentially used to be my favourite game of all time before it got dethroned by the resident evil 4 remake (but i will forever remember it fondly). i remember my parents gifted it to me for easter back in 2014 (so i was around 12 back then) and i don't think they realised how much this would change me. like this is one of the reasons why i started thinking about studying law later LMAOO.

essentially layton and phoenix both end up helping this young girl, espella (i played it in french back then and her name is aria so their english names are a struggle for me) who is being hunted by witches and then put on trial in london for the assault of a ship's crew member. then the wildest thing happens and they get sucked into a book and are sent back to medieval times. yes it sounds insane. but in this small town called labyrinthia, witches are real, and so are witch trials (DOESN'T IT SOUND COOL AS FUCK??).

they've all forgotten who they are, though. phoenix doesn't remember being an attorney and layton doesn't remember anything either. they find espella again, and she's put on trial AGAIN, for witchcraft this time. the game alternates between the usual layton riddles and ace attorney's investigation/trial phases. the odds are high this time around, because those found guilty of witchcraft are shoved into a metal cage and plunged into a pit of fire. they're not messing around.

of course, it wouldn't be layton or ace attorney without a massive plot twist at the end. i'd argue this one is probably the most insane out of all layton games (it's even a bit far fetched tbh, but just saying, you do not see it coming) (okay it's even full of plot holes and i haven't revisited the ending in years but if i did, i think it would be detrimental to my mental health).

the art style is amazing - i'm in love with the later ace attorney art styles, starting from dual destinies and this game, and particularly the latest great ace attorney chronicles. here are a few of my favourite character designs from the game:

but overall, one of the best things about the game has to be the soundtrack. it is the perfect mix of both franchises' music and it is a CRIME that neither level 5 nor capcom have released this on spotify (capcom i know you have all other AA soundtracks on this app. add this one. i am begging you). if you've never played an ace attorney game before, then you do not know the sheer adrenaline of phoenix shouting OBJECTION and the music speeding up. here's one of my favourite tracks:

it's kind of the perfect crossover game if you're into the genre, it's perfectly balanced between riddles and trials. the stakes are also a lot higher and there's actual executions. maybe i shouldn't have played this at the age of 12 actually - at some point (spoilers ahead), maya is wrongly executed and the scene will forever haunt me for some reason:

(go to 18:06 if the youtube timestamp doesn't work) i chose the french version of the cutscene because it's the one i played back then and i find that the french dub is a lot more compelling than the english one (somehow? the french haven't produced a good dub in decades so). also maya's screams are downright heartbreaking and the scene was traumatising asf when i was a kid

ANYWAY. please play this game, it's so much fun. for the AA enthusiasts, there's an edgeworth cameo at the very end. i very much fear that this game will be forgotten eventually, but it warms my heart to see that there are still people talking about it on the internet.

a boy who I wasn't interested in at first started flirting with me all the time, laying it on super thick with the compliments, favours, texting me all day and all night, constantly offering to buy me stuff, treating me so differently from everyone else. He would even touch me in ways that I would never think to touch someone unless I was into them. This is around the time that I came around liking him, and I was hoping he would ask me out, but all of a sudden he started cold shouldering me.

I was tired of the mixed signals so I decided to be brave and tell him that I liked him. He went, "no I don't have any romantic feelings for you at all why would you think that omg??? I was just trying to be your friend bc you dont seem to have any..." It hurt my feelings so and I felt so stupid, but I got over it. Then all of a sudden, he didn't want to be around me at all bc I'm weird. Okay whatever. I just went back to my normal routine without him.

Then for finals, he invited me to join a study group, and this was when I realised the length of his stupidity. He hadn't paid attention to a single lecture, nor had any of his friends. Multiply days a week, I spent hours teaching them everything I knew, receiving nothing in return. This was when I noticed that he only stopped flirting with me when other girls were around. So I guess he was doing the same thing to every woman he knows. After the final, he spoke to me twice in the span of a month. Whatever. I got an A+ and he and all his friends either failed or barely passed. I'm going to wash my hands of these people, and you should wash your hands of that stupid little boy masquerading as a man.

So about rise leo x villian! Reader plot, bef i say anything am a huge sucker for good endings so don't blame me.

So i hc reader as a gymnastic - the the villian from Barbie spy movie(?) - with gadget that help her/them shape shift to anything or anybody (So OP must nerf).

Plot; So the reason why reader is begin a villian to begin with is she's working for big mama - yes am gonna blame big mama - as her special thief, reader have the ability/ or have a gadget that make them shapshift to anybody or anything which it helped them escape from the crime scene/ mad dogs may many times.

The reason why she works for big mama is because BM took her in from the streets after she almost pull a perfect heist from BM's hotel, instead of sending her to police or just k1ll her she took her in as her new minion.

The reason why she know the mad dogs was because she's also a friend to april whom she trusts, so April trusted her enough to introduce the mad dogs to her which in the beginning reader took it as a nice game to make fun of the mad dogs to know what they feel about her after she's able to escape them, but soon fall in love with leo which it was unfortunate for her.

Fast forward, the mad dogs takes reader hostage because they just can't let her go, she knows where they live, she knows too much, they try to interrogate her to know anything about her; who's her boss, where she got the gadget? Why working as a thief? But reader is as hard as a nail and won't peep of an info.

That until leo asks her " was everything about us fake? Your feelings towards me? Our dates? Was everything fakes? " Leo asks, reader wanted to be honest and say no but begin afraid of seeing her answer as a lie she sees its best for them to break up and for leo to find another person, but for this to happen he have to hate her, so she pulls the " bad girl " mask and say " yep, everything was a lie, am surprise you even believed i loved you! " To the mad dogs, splinter and April they believe her mask but leo knowing how people could see right through her.

When everyone leave leo and reader alone to talk, leo start pressing reader for his answers, reader put a fight by saying hurtful words but in the end breaks from guilt, she loves leo so much she feels the guilt is crushing her, she wants him to forgive her but she knows she doesn't deserve it.

She get surprised by leo mentioning how reader have to stay in the lair to keep on " interrogate " her, tho reader knows it's way of leo saying " you're gonna stay with me until your problems is solved ", yes reader hadn't gotten leo's full trust again but it's a step to regain his and the family's trust.

first of all, i love the headcanon of gymnastics reader with the shapeshifting because it's just such a cool thing tbh. And almost pulling the perfect heist?? i would hire her in an instant. I think if it was me who wrote this it might go something like:

You slide down the rope, eyes scanning the room to see if any alarms had been triggered yet. Noting the absence of flashing lights and loud blaring sirens, your shoulders sag in relief at going undetected.

and reader getting caught by the mad dogs and being interrogated??? Oh my GOD so much potential for angst here it's insane. Mikey interrogating her?? sweetheart won't be able to hold back tears. Raph??? Incredibly disappointed. "I thought we were bear buddies!"

Donnie?? Well. Honestly I'm not sure how he'd react but i think he'd be rather hurt bc he considered you a good acquaintance, maybe even working your way up to be a worthy friend.

And then there's Leo. Our sweet, sweet turtle who just so happened to fall for the enemy. Honestly I'm always a sucker for sweet endings but I just so happen to be rather evil and as such will leave it on a high note of heartbreak :>

So, if I were to just kinda drabble a bit (Please pardon the suddenness of it all, this is very on the spot bc inspo hit and completely unedited/thought out) I'd write it like this:

"Fine, don't tell me anything then." Leo stands up, the shards of hurt and betrayal stabbing into his chest even deeper as he watches your bowed head. You refuse to look up, to meet his gaze because you knew that if you did, you'd break.

You're already trying to silence the voice in your head practically screaming at you to tell him everything. To tell him everything you felt for him - that you still feel for him, was never a lie.

Your eyes water, but you refuse to let a single tear overflow and land on the table. Your arms are tightly secured with rope, and you can barely breathe even though they had been lenient with your restraints.

Leo wants to say something - anything, for the glimmer of hope in his heart that you'd come clean.

"Please."

That makes you look up. His eyes are filled with desperation, pleading with you to admit that what the both of you had wasn't just pure deceit.

When he finally manages to meet your gaze, he almost forgets how angry he is. Your eyes swirl with guilt and regret, conflict in his chest as he watches you visibly struggle to find the words to reply. He wants nothing more than to wrap you into a hug, to soothe your worries (and his) and to forget everything that went down in the past two days.

But you don't reply, and it worsens the pit of despair his heart is already plummeting into.

So he turns around, walking out of the room and slamming the door shut, leaving you behind in the cold darkness.

why is it that so many men in the muslim community just don't know how to be great husbands. Why have so many mothers failed in their duty to raise good responsible men. They have a soft cushioned life in their mothers homes and then they seek out marriage and intentionally or unconsciously want the wife to mother them. Why is it so difficult to feel like an equal. I feel like women are so good at multi tasking and managing a huge deal of responsibilities and it's so tough when you aren't met halfway. It feels like a burden and a heavier one with kids in the picture.

Why are the muslim men of today so inadequate at leading their families. At being strong loving muslim husbands.

Listennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! I have talked about this a billion times with my girls!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaah sis!!! Amen to everything you said!! Sadly, it is very very very true. But I'll break my answer into three points, and I'll start with the easiest one:

- The fact that women are so good with multitasking, yes we are, because we are the superior creation, the more developed one 😎. No but seriously, scientifically, our brains and their brains don't function the same way. I have read about this a lot before that unlike women, guys need to process things one step at a time, one thing at a time. Let's say for example you're asking your husband for a pair of socks. You'd get better results, more efficiency, if you tell him "go to my side of the closet, open the last drawer, you'll find my socks, grab me any pair" than saying "can you get me a pair of socks?", because in the second scenario he'll go into freeze mode and he will ask "where are they?" blah blah and they might as well be in front of his eyes but he won't "see" them. Whereas, as wives, we'd anticipate that he's gonna need a pair of socks and we'll get it ready before he even asks 🙃. Men's hearing skills are also not as sharp as ours tbh. Sometimes I feel like they exert selective hearing, only hearing the bare minimum, or like you need to really get their attention and make sure their eyes are alert and on you before you ask them something, smh. (Well, because most of their brain is used to figure out how to provide and how to protect blah blah blah .. oh well, that's IF THEY WERE PROVIDING AND PROTECTING tsk tsk).

Lmao, listen sis, I don't want to sound like I am frustrated with our fellow humans, there are really some decent men out there, doing their absolute best to provide for their families, may Allah swt bless them and reward them with Jannah, ameen. I just wanted to clear out the physiological or natural differences outta the way because that's just how Allah made them, and it has nothing to do with culture or upbringing. If you are seeing this trait in Desi men or Arab men or North African men, Islam is only relevant in a way that they did not have good Islamic teaching or guidelines on how to treat their wives and how to detach from their moms, same thing for the moms who didn't raise these men per the true Islamic teachings that preach qawamah, responsibility, self-reliance, etc. Yes, these moms they failed as you said because they were over coddling their " princes ", sadly they never cut the umbilical cord. Hypothetically, they never stopped breastfeeding. Siiiigh. My ex boss once told us that a guy only becomes a man after his mom dies, but as long as she's alive he'll always be a child even if he's a grandfather. Which, back to the upbringing, is what leads to their inability and inadequacy to lead their families and to step into the role of qawamah that Allah swt entrusted them to. That is very unfortunate wallahi, and that's why the wife feels like she has to step in and fill in the gap, especially if she is too conscious, too anxious, too frustrated. This reminds me of a quote I have read somewhere " I have never known a relaxed woman, a successful woman yes, but never a relaxed woman" .. oh well, because she doesn't feel safe enough in her environment to relax, she doesn't feel safe enough to let go of control, she doesn't feel reassured enough, she has to stay on top of things and she has to always be on the move, to make sure things are getting done. This affects her mental AND physical health, and then scientists wonder why women are more prone to auto-immune diseases. Astaghfirullah.

See, Islam solved everything. Islam teaches the guys to be responsible for providing for the wife and kids, whereas the woman's job is to raise a new generation of good Muslims. But when we move further from our deen, when our values get stained by the western propaganda, when our women are forced to be slaves to capitalism, that's where the imbalance happens, and that's how the system glitches.

More awake now and I'm popping back in to talk about that DR hot take; totally right and fair. Sonia shouldn't have to die for the development of Kaz, whom I do love dearly but also recognize the many, MANY issues with his writing. And killing a female character is not the way to go about slapping him with that development.

HOWEVER, I do offer an altered idea; I sometimes dabble in an AU where Sonia dies instead of Hiyoko in chapter 3, if only bc I feel like Hiyoko really got the short end of the stick in terms of just...not only getting killed off in the middle of character development, but they don't even discuss the murder weapon used to kill her! Or even have Mikan do it because of the bullying element, she was just...there and unlucky.

I choose Sonia as a victim in place of Hiyoko in terms of being the victim bc of some reasons tied to the rest of the characters needing to make it to the end of the game. And Hiyoko gets character development and a chance to grow as a person, not necessarily BECAUSE of Sonia's death, but because she herself does not die and actually gets that time to do so. IDK, I've just always liked that concept since I first heard about it.

Plus Hiyoko's warmed up to me a lot as a character. She's such a brat, but I can't help but think she deserved better. But I suppose that's true for so many Dangle Rompus characters in general </3

Honestly, I've also thought about this concept before, and I feel like Hiyoko getting development from not dying and realizing it could have been her since she planned to go there originally could work pretty well. So Sonia decides to get the mirror for Hiyoko and Hiyoko has to live with the fact someone died to do something nice for her

I just don't feel Kazuichi should get 'positive' development from her death. If the whole Gundham and Sonia romance was pushed to chapter 3 (and we'd get to see it through Chiaki's pov maybe) her death would have a big impact and both deaths would be equally discussed since it's also emotionally charged unlike in canon. Rather than either of them pushing it forward, however, it gets heated (because they both assume the other did it). Meanwhile, Hiyoko feels some guilt over the whole thing but doesn't want to admit it until she snaps at both of them that they never knew her fully anyway and only wanted to get in her pants or something along those lines. Hurtful stuff to get them to shut up. And then the bombshell with Mikan happens

So now Chapter 4 could start with Hiyoko trying to find someone to hold onto while her emotions run wild and finds that in Chiaki.

Meanwhile, Gundham and Kazuichi could start warming up to each other and start a fragile friendship until Chapter 4 happens. I feel a dynamic of paranoid Kazuichi first trying to defend him, and once it becomes clearer that it's Gundham immediately assuming the worst of him very engaging. Especially if only after Kazuichi has called him a traitor and some other nasty stuff before his death and Gundham is already gone, he realizes his true intentions. THAT could actually develop him with Kazuichi regretting not trusting him and immediately jumping to conclusions so he promises to trust his friends from now on

And a two chapter long build up of a friendship between Hiyoko and Chiaki could give us some more heartbreak. Because having lines like 'I've already lost Mahiru, why must you take Chiaki, too?' Would honestly break me.

But that's just how I would personally do it if Sonia were still to die. It's still not that good tbh

Kazuichi in a lot of fanfictions I've read just develops by Sonia being a murderer and A) turning out to be a serial killer who hunts peasants for fun and being a spoiled rich girl who put on a facade (yes, I've read a fic with that storyline) or B) her talking to him like his behavior was fine and saying cheesy stuff to 'not give up' etc. and acting like his behavior was fine or even apologizing to him for calling him out after she yelled at him for defending her in a trial???

Also to reply to the other ask I sent you, I feel like NCTzens are either amazing to writers or so toxic. Like I once did an MTL that was an ask and it was who would like a thicc s/o and I put Taeyong like in the middle, and I got so much hate, someone spammed my inbox with like 40 messages saying Taeyong would never want a fatty, and they made like 10 fake accounts to comment on all of my NCT mtls to share their opinion, and I just had to delete most of my NCT MTLs and block like 20 accounts. They were so mad that I said Taeyong would probably want a an s/o that eats well, they felt the need to attack me so badly, I quit writing MTLS for NCT after that. Then I would have people in my asks complaining about me not doing them anymore, and it's just like I wonder why; you ask my opinion and then when I say Johnny would love a girl with a fat ass you attack me since it's not want you wanted me to say. I've been in a lot of fandoms, and I'm lucky most I've been don't go out of their way to attack you for a varying opinion or disliking something, but NCTzens it's just like where do you get the audacity.

I feel like they would probably think I'm some weird and be all ew p*d0 or something, but I'm just such a mom friend it's just like if you are younger than I and we are interacting, I now view you as my child nothing else; but it's just easier to avoid talking to them, since people always immediately assume the worst, which I don't blame them since there are so many weirdos on here. tbh it is, like I see no age anywhere or like even an age range, like just put 18+ or 21+, just let me know you are legal, otherwise I run the other way and hit that block button with such speed, it could rival Usain Bolt; since I just immediately assume minor that doesn't want you to know they are a minor. The same is for people who write smut about minors, when they themselves are not, even if they didn't know the age of the idol. Like I saw someone the other day that wrote Niki smut and someone messaged them saying 'he's a minor', they full on said "omg I had no idea, he looks like he's 20" and like this is why we can't have nice things, at least they deleted their stuff, but still immediate block.

the czennie fandom part: YES. i feel like czennies on here just overdo everything like calm tf down and if you dont like certain type of content just..dont read it? its honestly so sad bc they used to be my ults but i also had such bad experiences in that fandom it's heartbreaking. ive been so much more cautious and careful with what i post ever since and i feel like a lot of fellow former nct writers feel that way. its just so difficult to deal with it all bc you do it as a hobby and to kinda escape the real world and boom, hate and negativity everwhere. i'd never go back to writing for nct for that sole reason only. im so sorry you had to go through that baby, i know exactly how disheartening and demotivating that can be 💔

about the whole age thing: FULLHEARTEADLY AGREED. i think with a fandom this young its super difficult to find a good balance but im honestly glad most of us older engenes think that way and so far most younger ones have been super respectful (tho i did have to block a few minors bc they interacted with my nsfw content) i still feel a lot more comfortable than i did in other fandoms. the thing is, atp if a 05/06 liner happens to write smut about an idol the same age i just close both eyes and block them bc who am i to tell them what to do yk? yet not knowing an idols age you write for is kinda ???? nah, dont fw but deffo get your other points. also i lit felt the mom friend part so hard bc same (more like older sister friend) but im genuinely afraid creeping out younger engenes bc i dont wanna seem like im being a weirdo 😭

this one’s a long one but saw you talking about the tslocg finale and i have to some things to say (if u don’t mind)

im really upset with how they handled the leighton x tatum situation. like fine, maybe tatum was always meant to be a steppingstone for leighton’s eventual understanding for who and what she’s really looking for in a partner. i never really imagined them to be endgame, especially because leighton’s a freshman and she has plenty of time to explore relationships. break ups happen and their split is really far from the actual issue. a lot of actions just felt very out of character/unfair and the rushed pacing really didn’t make anything settle any better. i mean really what was the purpose of building up tatum’s (jackson’s tbh) characters and qualities just to rip them away in literal minutes.

obviously the show’s pacing has always been a major issue, but there’s never been a mention of the women’s center ever since leighton and alicia ended things so why are we acting like leighton and the other volunteers (employees ?) were so close. it just doesn’t make sense that leighton, who was literally so awful toward the women’s center last season, would be so quickly to dismiss someone who wasn’t fully understanding the significance of it/its members. i mean leighton, of all people, should understand that the environment is one that takes getting used to especially coming from such a privileged, conservative background. perhaps it was the annoyance of having to volunteer there, but leighton’s initial reactions were arguably worse than tatum’s little comments.

it just sucked to see tatum being so patient and willing to work things out with leighton even when she was closeted (which yk, bar is on the floor but still very sweet in comparison to alicia’s reaction) and tatum’s reassurance to leighton lying about the gallery party and doing so much to impress her. but god forbid tatum show some poor qualities, and now leighton immediately dismisses her and their relationship. it’s just really cruel for her to have zero grace for tatum’s ignorance when she was, again, far worse last season. i really don’t mind alicia, but #justicefortatum because leighton really just ignored the literal heartbreak and trauma that alicia caused her but drew the line at tatum making some (distasteful) comments when she really could’ve shown her the same patience everyone at the center showed her last sem.

all of the sensitivities she learned about the members of the center and the relationships she built with everyone there took time!!! but she refused to give tatum that :/ she really had more patience with that conservative kappa alumni than she did her own girlfriend.

(and just realistically it made sense to keep tatum around because at least midori is busy with grey’s now, gracie deserves to be booked too!!)

ps: maybe it’s the santana lopez/quinn fabray supremacist in me but a mean girl never really hurt anybody so my girl tatum deserved a better ending

By all means preach away Anon because I'm clearly not over it either. So frustrating when a story could work but it's so lazily done. And I am starting to call it lazy because I know they can do better and I don't see why the writers weren't willing to leave Leighton's story on a sort of cliffhanger like with the other girls. Why did we need a speedrun of this in two episodes? Really cheapens her character and I hate saying that because I love Leighton and I would love to be wholeheartedly happy for her.

I agree, it didn't seem fair and you're so right that Tatum was hardly anything like Leighton was beginning of last season. And okay fair, maybe Leighton doesn't wanna put in the emotional labour of educating someone like she was educated. But then bitch patiently explains inclusive language to gen x Kappas! And it's not like this was Tatum's third strike or anything. Hate to say it but the way it was written makes Leighton seem like she was looking for a reason to dump Tatum because Alicia reentered the picture. And I know it in my bones that wasn't the intention, but intentions don't mean much to me when you lower your standards of writing. Can you tell I'm really mad when writers choose laziness haha.

It's so convenient for the show to act like it's been building on where we left Leighton at the end of season 1 but it hasn't and it can't lie to me. Leighton has not been missing the women's center or its peeps, that's a big fat lie. Not once did she indicate otherwise. And to be clear I don't have an issue with Alicia nor do I wanna get into the dead horse convo of her breakup with Leighton, but it's true that Tatum proved herself to be understanding, patient, and reassuring, only to be discarded like that because she's a fraction of how rude Leighton used to be.

Had they portrayed her as a bitch all this time and gave any signs that Leighton was uncomfortable with that, fine. I'd still find it a little uninspired but I would have bought the whole "foil to Leighton" thing. But that didn't happen! They just pulled that out of their ass at the last minute. I mean ffs they discussed a safe word 😭 Cause Leighton presumably knew very well that this wasn't Tatum's scene. And you won't hear me say that Tatum wasn't being bitchy, but my god was it really that bad that with no preamble she deserves that talking to and dumping? I don't think so. The writers didn't create the bitch they thought they did in Tatum, not in her relationship with Leighton. And if one more person says we were just "blinded by the chemistry of Gracie and Reneé" I'm THROWING HANDS. Fuck you, I know what I saw, I know what was actually written. I care about storytelling and this was ain't it.

So you could say I also have some things to say, Anon. Idk where they're going with this, if Leighton and Alicia are gonna breakup early on in season 3 anyway. I truly don't much care for that because I think the damage to Leighton's ch has already been done and it's not like Alicia was the cause of that or anything. I'm just bummed that instead of seeing her arc unfold organically in season 3 we had this lackluster speedrun and now, what? I'm sure they have plans for her but now every time she gets on her high horse it will feel empty. Unlike her friendships with her roommates, Leighton's change of heart here did not feel like a natural progression at all. And I love me a bitch with a heart of gold, like, loooooooove, but goddam give her time.

What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war), and why did you choose it? The main lesson of the book is the consequences of choice. The world begins because a spirit is lonely and chooses to look for and create a partner. And from their relationship, comes the gods and the worlds. The Earth Mother chooses create a guardian out of Yggdrasil's wood, and to give them the mission to protect the tree and life within in. The moon chooses to engage with a mortal king, despite knowing the consequences, and chooses to keep their daughter, choosing to send her to the mortal realm to be kept safe. There's a routinely ingrained idea of choice, of choosing to be kind and to help others despite knowing it'll end in tragedy and heartbreak, choosing to be good, choosing to continue a never-ending cycle of death and rebirth to perform the duties you were assigned even when the person who gave them is long since dead.

What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding (like real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites, etc.)? Mix of cool things I've found on Pinterest, mix of Princess Mononoke/Maleficent, mix of Nordic ad Greek mythologies, mix of cool movie scenes I've watched, and also some sprinkled LOTR and Eragon in there.

What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person? My MC simply wants to go home, and live a quiet and peaceful life with her adoptive parents. But she's been cursed to die and be reborn, over and over and over, to fight the antagonist in every life, to meet a tragic end by their hands or her own hands. I'm not particularly trying to teach anything, I saw this story played out in a dream and I think I owe it to my MC to tell her story.

How many chapters is your story going to have? It's an epic high fantasy, so somewhere between 30-40, maybe more. Only Gods know. I don't.

Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it? It's original content! It's posted over here on Wattpad , because I have a soft spot for that abomination website since I started using it when I was a teenager.

When and why did you start writing? When I was a little girl, my mom used to sit with me at night and read faerytales for me to fall asleep. Eventually we ran out of faerytales in the library, so we had to start making up our own and writing them down. I was maybe 2, so I learned to write by tracing the letters she wrote into paper with my finger. Once I got hold of a notebook and pencil, I started writing stories on my own. We've been here since.

Do you have any words of engagement for fellow writers of Writeblr? What other writers of Tumblr do you follow? Legitimately, no idea. I kind of just got here. If I could give anyone writing any advice, it'd be to just get it all down on paper as best you can- form a habit of writing, little by little, and it'll add up to a lot. Don't worry about cliches, don't worry about plot holes or rewriting, or you'll get caught up in an endless cycle of self-doubt and rewriting, and never progress. Let your writing be self-indulgent, let it be over the top, and let it be ridiculous. You'll have a lot more fun that way. || I follow uh, pretty much anyone I see in my notes often, tbh.
