i have no doubt that ne*l ga*man is getting some awful antisemitic messages in his inbox these days
i just wish he would ALSO call for a ceasefire like other celebrities (eg. alan cumming) have done
by remaining completely "apolitical" in this situation it seems like he is siding with zionism and the devastation affecting the people in gaza
we all know that to be silent is to be on the side of the oppressors
but what can we expect from someone who only wrote an orientalist issue of a comic about the gulf war after someone had called him apolitical back then too

Hi Moon!
It is likely that the warriors were experimented on by the Marlian government, especially Annie due to the Females titan mimicking ability.
Do u think this will affect them still? How if so? Maybe they have a fear around medical settings, or just tests in general. Considering that Annie is also likely going to be the first ex shifter to have a kid, the doctors are likely to be interested causing this to come up again?
Linking to this, most Titan shifters are careless when it comes down to injures (except the colossal holder cause that won’t end well) so do u think they will constantly be clumsy and hurting themselves without thinking? I like to think that Annie has a nervous habit or playing with her ring, which obviously causes damage (possibly stitches at one point) and Armin lots of stress.
Hello hello!
(Quick edit to add: two fics I've read that talk about this are Little Bird by @aquietjune and Miracle by @flailingkittylover )
You bring up an interesting point! We actually have these pictures of the warriors unit files and the "tests" performed on them. It's in Marleyan, so unfortunately, unreadable, but the photo on the right is of Reiner's legs, I believe. It looks like a leg in the middle of regeneration, but if Annie underwent "experiments" that eventually gave her Zeke's Scream and Reiner's hardening, then it's reasonable to assume the others underwent various such experiments too, atleast in regard to their endurance and titan-specific shifter abilities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously, they would've been brutal. These were terribly young at the time, a little more so than when we see them on Paradis. I think going through the whole "succession ritual" would've been traumatizing in itself, so to be studied in a lab and have tests performed on them while in human form and also without anaesthetic (because why would they be offered anaesthetic when they weren't even seen as humans) - enough to put a real fear of needles and any sort of medical equipment.
I'm no expert, but trauma of such nature can last years, I believe. Even if you no longer have visceral reactions to needles or tourniquets, the sight of such things can pull severe anxiety and stress out of the body. Thinking about it, I can see RBA having to undergo tests on Paradis too for enlisting in the military. Perhaps blood draws, respiratory fitness and related things. It might've been horrifying to sit through them calmly so as not to arouse any suspicion. Annie especially, since she internalizes a lot of things without sharing and might've suffered through it all alone.
So even when the years pass post-rumbling, there could be a fear of medical settings, as you've mentioned. As for the doctors' being concerned, hmmm, I can see it, especially if Annie's overly concerned with getting tested, treated, checked and such during a pregnancy.
Now, coming to clumsiness!
Personally, it's not as much being clumsy as it is a densensitivity to prolonged pain. I think that to the contrary, RBA would've actually been very careful not to get hurt unnecessarily, as anyone noticing a scratch or a wound healing with steam would be dangerous to keeping their identities secret.
Pain on the other hand, is a different matter. Whenever they had a limb torn or a deep gash opened on their skin as shifters, it would heal within a matter of minutes to hours, with the pain never lasting too long. So prolonged pain for Annie, Reiner and Pieck, would be a foreign thing and quite difficult to get used to. (In contrast Armin, as a shifter from Paradis, would know what continued pain feels like since he inherited the CT only much later in his life).
Annie's ring though... nice headcanon! It's easy to see her playing with it nervously, expecting even the lightest of scratches to heal, but welp, now it doesn't anymore and WHOOPS, lots of blood - Armin's calling that ambulance and crying all over the place.

Plague Doctor - First Meeting
(cws: animal-centric body horror)
word count: 1.5k
Tumblr media
Unlike the usual hustle and bustle of the morning in the general studies building, the creak of the door echoes down the empty corridor as you step out into the hall. Not a peep can be heard from anywhere in the vicinity, save for the occasional muffled voices of professors and T.As in their classes as you pass by, and the whirring of a copier chugging away in the office down the very end of the hall.
Midterm week means the tension has risen to a peak, and even if your fellow students did have time to chatter amongst themselves, they all vanish from the main buildings during this time out of fear of being reprimanded by the terrifying revenant who patrols the corridors. Or the Horseman, whom you've only caught a glimpse of at one of the football games earlier this season, but have heard all manner of scary stories about–especially what he does to naughty ne'er-do-wells who wander the campus after curfew.
Fortunately for you, one of the perks of being so different from your fellow students is that you got the option to do your tests early, and do them you did–after all, how could you pass up the chance to have a week off while your classmates all feverishly study, when all the facilities will be empty and quiet for you to use? It seemed like a great idea and the perfect way to spend a little time to relax.
Unfortunately for you, however, this is the week your body decided to betray you. You started feeling sniffly over the weekend and by today you're caught in a full-blown cold, one made worse by the fact that you wanted to enjoy your time off and now have to tend to your vile illness. It certainly doesn't feel fair.
But that's the only reason you're here. The medical office is right near the entrance you just slipped through, and holding in your cough until you get into the door, you're quick to slide it closed and hobble up towards the front counter. It's a much nicer space than you're used to at human schools; not only does it actually have a reception counter, but the uncomfortable chairs have been taken over by lounge sofas and a waiting area that plays soft, gentle instrumental music from a speaker on the side table. The white walls still make it feel sterile, but they're contrasted by the coattails of the figure approaching you from around the corner, having heard your entrance and probably expecting you since your roommate called in an appointment for you earlier this morning.
You have to make an effort not to cringe when his full form comes into view. The doctor is exactly that: a doctor, licensed and practicing for many years with a slew of impressive accomplishments that line the walls of the corridor behind him. But he doesn't wear a white coat, he doesn't own a stethoscope, and he doesn't smile when he sees you to soothe the worries of your ill self. You wouldn't be able to see it if he did, because his face is completely obscured by an authentic plague mask–'authentic' meaning it's so worn and scratched up from age that you can't quite tell if it's keeping diseases out, or just keeping whatever he hides beneath it in. A brimmed hat covers his hair, a cloak and puffy, loose clothing hides his features, and tall boots that have the look of thousands of miles on them all bring together a void-like black of night that makes him appear as though he's a walking shadow.
"Human! Next up! Chopping block!"
While you're still assessing the figure before you, your attention flits up to his black-clad shoulder where a scruffy-looking raven perches, the squeaky voice clearly coming from the bird and not from the doctor. His gloved fingers hold out a bit of fruit that's produced from his pocket, and with a gleeful squawk, the raven chomps on it and swallows it down before his master nods at you and turns back to lead you down the hallway. It takes you a moment to get yourself up off the sofa, but once you get around the corner you're relieved to see the doctor waiting for you before he continues instead of leaving you behind.
Curiously, your attention is directed more towards the thump of his cane rather than the mask or the bird that is his assistant. It looks to be made of ebony rather than solid wood, and although it isn't incredibly dazzling with colour or adornments, you definitely notice the deep engravings of patterns carved into the length of it that seem to shift as he leans on it for support. You still haven't analyzed all the different designs by the time you reach the office, though many more assaults on your senses command your attention when you sit yourself in the plum-coloured chair in the corner, the stench of lavender and musty herbs hitting you full force when he takes his seat barely a foot away from you. The office is darker than the waiting room for sure, plastered with lavender wallpaper that's already peeling and a black rug that's been rolled over thousands of times with the wheels of the chair he's sitting on–and you can see the source of the smell hanging in bundles from the ceiling, crumbling herbs tied together in various arrays that compliment the dead flowers at the desk he's sitting next to.
"Symptoms!" The crow shrieks and startles you, to which the doctor makes some motion with his hands that the corvid nods thoughtfully at. "Symptoms! Symptoms!" He caws, this time at a much gentler volume.
"Er…u-uh, well, I'm really congested, and I have a fever…and my body aches a lot." You stop for a moment to blow your nose with a tissue from the box he offers, clearly noticing the severity of your sinus problem off of how nasally you sound. "...And I've got a headache. A bad one."
The doctor nods, noting down his thoughts with one hand while the other still grips his cane. It wasn't completely silent before, but somehow even with him accompanying you it feels even quieter in here. It's almost like time stopped as soon as you stepped in, and has yet to continue until you step out.
"Swelling? Got swelling?" The crow pipes up again and you shake your head, but with a cawing that almost sounds like laughter, the bird reiterates. "Doctor's got swelling, he does! Don't look down!"
Obviously your eyes move before your brain really processes it, but before you can tear your momentary gaze away from the doctor's crotch area, you hear a squawk and the distinct crack of something snapping and glance up to see the crow being flung across the room to hit the wall opposite to you. Your sharp gasp comes out soundless, shocked and horrified at what you just saw the doctor do, but within a second the bird has hopped up from where it fell and is cawing uproariously as it hops around on its unbroken foot. You see now that the bird must be a monster of its own as its broken bones quickly set back into place, and it flies up on healthy wings to land back in its spot on the doctor's shoulder–who, as well as looking somewhat embarrassed for his instinctual reaction, has his head hung and fist clenched in frustration as he quickly crosses his legs over the other. Now you're both at a loss for words, and he frantically scribbles out the rest of your orders before tearing the page off the pad and handing it to you.
"Doc says 'get better soon'!" The crow chitters in a self-congratulating tone as the monster in question makes more gestures with his hands, which you now realize must be a particular form of sign that you aren't as familiar with. But based on his lack of reaction at his companion's translation, you have a sense that he at least passed on the message as intended–that doesn't make your departure any slower though, you're more than eager to get out of this office and follow the directions he advised you to take. Water, some medicine to pick up at the pharmacy, all general steps you find on the page and fortunately not as outlandish as you worried they might be, considering how different monster medicine can sometimes be from its human counterpart. At the very least you won't have to come back for another appointment unless you get worse, and you won't hear that squawking laughter down the hall like you do now as the two oddballs converse.
Oh, but you will get worse. You'll do everything you were told, and you'll still get worse–by no fault of yours or your doctor, but simply the side effects of a human taking monster-made drugs that few professionals have ever encountered before. You'll get so bad you'll have no choice but to return, and though he may be distracted by a kind of beauty he hasn't seen in centuries, the plague doctor is going to do everything he can to ease your pain….and document such fascinating results that no one ever thought to test.

Hi are u still into chess because i am Starved for content 🤲 and ive loved looking at ur hcs and aus fr!!! especially the kings im <333
Hello! I don’t think I’ll ever be free of Chess so even when I’m not posting about it, you can rest assured that it is indeed on my mind. I’m a little rusty, but here are some things off the top of my head!
Talking about headcanons is always interesting, as well, because there’s a hundred versions of Chess. I’ll specify AU for the ones where it’s pertinent!
One of my favorite AUs is Anatoly choosing to lose and not return to Russia as opposed to winning but returning. For that, following Bangkok, Freddie and Anatoly’s relationship is founded on a mutual sense of exhaustion. True or false or something in-between, they have both been told enough times that they are selfish and cruel. Being told that caused them respective anguish a dozen times, a hundred times, but finally they numbed to it because they feel that, despite being selfish, they still have nothing of substance. So if being good doesn’t get them anything and being bad doesn’t get them anything, why strive for either? They want someone who will accept them for what and who they are without judgment. The only person who can do that is someone who is intrinsically the same. That isn’t necessarily a healthy place to begin a relationship– settling for the ‘worst’ of someone just so that they can express the ‘worst’ of themselves– but they begin to treat both self and other with more respect as time passes and they deal more effectively with the events that occurred and their own roles in those events.
Regardless of AU, Freddie has a much harder time expressing his feelings in a positive way. That isn’t to say that he doesn’t feel very deeply for Anatoly, and frankly I tend to think that Freddie is the one with a much greater depth of feeling between them. Anatoly might be the one to make drastic moves– Embassy Lament, Anthem, etc– but Freddie loves painfully. It makes him resentful of his own bad behavior.
Speaking of that, one of my headcanons is that Freddie was studying Anatoly for months leading up to Merano. He taped every televised match that Anatoly participated in as he worked his way up the circuit to eventually be the opposing challenger. Freddie watched these matches obsessively until he could anticipate not only every move, but every expression and extraneous move. Florence was not only aware that he was doing this but was concerned for him, and especially concerned that Freddie made no effort to hide it like he didn’t realize it was strange behavior. (“It’s research, Florence. I don’t think it’s very clever to face the guy with no clue how he plays, do you? He’s watching my matches, I’ll tell you that much.”) All in all, he’s impressed by Anatoly (read: scared of him) but he nonetheless spends the time leading up to Merano dogging him in the press and acting like he hardly knows who he is beyond just being another “Red.” That’s the kind of behavior he resents in himself. Fear makes him ugly.
And speaking of that, I always work from a baseline that says: Freddie wanted to believe that his behavior in Merano was of his own choosing (insulting Anatoly to generate media interest, flipping the board for more money, refusing to come back also for more money) but he was losing control of himself during that time. Even if he’d wanted to calm down, the spiral of it was beyond him by then. He was as much a victim to it as others were, in that way.
In AUs where Anatoly does indeed return to Russia at the end of A2, I like to think that him and Freddie engage in correspondence over the phone and through letters. They play games of chess over the phone several times a week, starting almost immediately after the championship ends, and exchange almost no words not to do with the chess for a long time. When they do begin to speak about more personal things, it’s Anatoly who starts it. (“Do you plan to stay at Global, Trumper?” “Still Trumper?” “Freddie, then.”)
And that leads to the possibility of Freddie working his way back up the circuit again to challenge him for the title. Freddie playing competitively again is a great showing of… Of wellness, to be honest, because he thought he’d never do it again. Anatoly is surprised by how glad he is that Freddie will be coming back to torment him on international television again. Call it love.
Freddie never reconnects with his mother. Anatoly, however, mends his burned bridge by reconnecting with Viigand some time after Bangkok. The two of them were friends when they were children.
The two of them are a great fit for non-Chess AUs, as well. I know it’s no longer fashionable, but they are great for a Detroit: Become Human AU with chess-playing Android Anatoly who Freddie refuses to accept he can be beaten by.
You’ll have to tell me your favorite AUs, your headcanons, all of that (it’s only fair)!

Celebrating little successes
Who am I? Answering a question like this has often been difficult to answer even for those with high intelligence.I may not know who I fully am,but I know who I am not.I am not irresponsible,I am not dishonest and I will never deliberately set out to hurt anyone. My name is Romalyn C.Serrano.I am a senior high school student.I came from a family of Nine(9) and I occupy the Fourth (4) position. It is a common knowledge that I am a good student and I love to study hard a lot.My favorite subjects right now are Practical Research and Creative writing.I am responsible and hardworking,so I study hard to obtain good grades.Being a part of this universe makes me feel small in a world where there millions of humans like myself.Although everyone is quite unique in their own way.I try my best to be humble, kind and respectful of everyone I meet regardless of their age, gender, family background, nationality and race.My hobbies are include Listening to music, Reading books and Sleeping.I am also generally pleased with my life.I don't like sports and go outside. My career inspiration is to go to the university and study law.I spend most of the time at reading book. The reason why I want to pursue a degree of being a lawyer someday is to help my family and especially those innocent who become a victim.I live by the words and never on the edge.In fact,my life is quiet plain and I never ever rebel.I always take things in stride because life is not always a bed of rose.
I don't know how to answer the question of how am I? Because in the past months/years many unexpected things happened and because of that I can't say whether I'm okay or not.To be honest, it's draining everyday. But those despite the problems and draining days there are still good things happening.I still believe that all the problems that have passed and will pass leave a lesson and make a realization that all of those are happening for a reason.I also believe that life is a learning experience and being able to recognize our own strengths and weaknesses that can help us to become a better individuals in anything we choose to do, whether it is positive abilities and skills that can help to achieve our goals or negative personal areas that need some more improvements.Knowing myself and what I can do will recognized and overcome my weaknesses. One of my greatest strengths is that an being organized individual.I tend to write and have to do down on paper and prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this,It helps me organize and accomplish my workloads. Also some of my personal strengths are discipline and ability to stay focused among the many distractions.Disciplen has given me the ability to have a solid self-esteem,a sense of humor and ability to stay focused on goals.Having discipline is the ability to gain confidence.Staying focused has not been easy and at times staying focused has been quite challenging not to go off in many different directions.Sometimes I found myself away from my goals but learning to stayed focused has kept me on the road map to both reaching and achieving my goals. On the other hand we must also be able to recognize our weaknesses in order to be balanced. My weaknesses is symbolize to those things that I have a hard time to do and I'm not good on it.I have a fear of writing.A blank page to me is very frustrating. This makes it more difficult to differentiate or correct grammar then slang and transform that into a paper.I can assured myself that despite of self doubt I can overcome my weaknesses in writing by working harder on my writing skills.By going through this strand (HUMSS) my ability to write an outstanding paper is increased. An important weaknesses of mine is that I have poor public speaking skills and stage fearnes which I couldn't escape from it.When I have to speak in front of others,I get very nervous no matter how prepared I am.Lastly my weaknesses in analytical or number skills, especially when solving mathematics problems. It frustrate me when I am solving number,I don't know how to solve it without any help.I will overcome those weaknesses of mine by learning, everything that the things you do will be learned.
In conclusion,by acknowledging one's strengths and weaknesses an individual can both take advantage of and improve his or her quality life.I will be able to develop a habit for change and self improvement.Through careful management and monitoring of your strength and weaknesses the door will be open for personal growth.I know that using my strengths there's a new ways to be overcome obstacles and those weaknesses of mine.
Dear my future self,
As you reading this, your incomplete relief because you were able to surpass all the struggle you had.I hope you are doing well.I hope your happier than I am today, and living the life we wanted.Right now is a tough battle.Been having a lot of setbacks and I feel uncomfortable for no reason. But maybe I was meant to feel this way because I wanted to grow more.Everyday is a struggle, but I am looking forward to finally meet where you at. I wanted you to be different than yourself now.Allow yourself to be disappointed and keep on mind that you might disappoint people as well.Don't be afraid to do wrong because that's how you learn.I hope you're no longer under pressure and I hope you're not losing the fire in your heart from the things that God had told us to do,to inspire and become an inspiration.I want to see the same goal that I have today, but not in the same spot that I'm looking at it from now.Wherever you are right now,I want to be able to recognize you from my prayers. I hope you earned that degree you've always wanted.I hope you're successful and made our family proud.I just want you to know that I am so proud of you, you reached that life.My future self always remember that don't trust easily, learn to say “no.”Learn to be an independent person because someday you will be alone when everyone left.Don't easily trust everyone. Also I hope that time you learned how to express your emotions to everyone, don't hide what you feel just for the sake of others.Thank you for fighting for our future,I am so proud of you!

Resulting an agony.
With firm unity, we rise.

Working Research Project Proposal
Working Title
‘Women of the night’, ‘Women – Navigating our fear of the dark’ or ‘Why do women fear the dark?’, 'The ironic relationship between women and the night'
Key Words & Terms
#Lunar/Menstrual Cycle #Pandemic #Women & Night Safety #Night Dangers #Feminism #Biology & the night
Abstract
For my research project I’ve decided to focus on the subject of the female fear to walk alone at night. How that fear has been instilled in us throughout history, and what changes we as a society could make to assure our safety in carrying out such a basic activity during the night. The reason I have chosen this topic is firstly because I am a young woman. And as a young woman I’m starting to navigate my independence by commuting to university (for example). In doing so, it is inevitable as the days grow shorter that at some point of my journey home, I’ll be walking in the dark. This is significant because the anticipation of darkness can change several factors such as ‘leaving at a decent time to avoid being out when it’s really dark’ or, ‘I’ll walk along the main road because there are more lights and people’. Another reason I have chosen this topic is because I know I’m not the only woman who goes through this thought process when it comes to walking in the dark as this awareness is something that was passed down to me from my mother, and her mother, and shared amongst sisters and girlfriends. I’m passionate about this topic because even though I know being more guarded during the night is a generally felt thing, I find it interesting that it seems to be more commonly experienced by women, especially as we are targeted more by potential dangers. Therefore, my aim throughout this project is to be a platform for a collective of stories associated with night walking experiences, voice a variety of tips taught to keep safe, narrow down the main reasons for this fear (historical, spiritual & scientific), and finally bring to light the ways we can make positive changes.
Weekly Plan
Week 1:
Start of more in-depth research and creating questionnaires/Interviews. Ensuring references to websites, books etc… are recorded.
Week 2:
Continuation of research, collecting primary research/data and beginning to format this information (Split into main categories).
Week 3:
Write Introduction and organise research so I can start writing them into appropriate sections of dissertation too.
Week 4:
Continuing rough draft of dissertation.
Week 5:
Continue rough draft and do any extra research both primary and secondary.
Week 6:
Christmas Break –Read through everything so far and make minor changes.
Week 7:
Finish rough draft to the best of my ability and rewrite sections if needed to tie any loose ends.
Week 8:
Submit draft and start to make changes according to feedback.
Primary Research Plans
Interviews/Questionnaires asking about women’s experiences walking at night and the things they do or have been taught to keep safe.
I may also go for a walk alone at night and record my experience.
Key Artists/ Practitioners/ Case Studies

Working Bibliography
This should be varied (or have ambition to be); alongside published books, journals and reliable articles (peer-reviewed), you might also reference things like podcasts, radio shows, films, documentaries, tv shows (make use of time-stamps), primary research, exhibition visits, etc.
Designed Outcome Ideas/ Alternative Approaches to The Dissertation Format
This is very open but it should respond to your subject area. i.e. I am writing about DIY publishing, so I will make five zines. You can suggest a few different ideas/ approaches.
Timeline (until Semester 2)
Week-by-week schedule; this should serve the purposes of your project. Look ahead to the draft deadline; what needs to be achieved by then? I would primarily focus on in-depth research and establishing concrete plans for any primary research you would like to achieve.

Polymophed Wizards
By Mr Kiwi the Wizard
Wizards can cast many spell, like polymorph. A common act among wizards is to turn themselves and others into animals, objects and other variants of their own species. However only humans ever seem to do this. Elves and dwarves would never cast such a thing on themselves. Some elves among the woodlands would only ever choose an animal temporarily, using a variant of the spell that does not last forever. Not humans though. The Gods of Drakken had a tendency of changing their form, shape, gender and even their own metaphysical being simply because they could. While humans, who fascinate over every animal and race the world has seen, would often seek to polymorph themselves into that of other species. However no matter how had they tried they would always look half human. Half orc, half dwarf, half elf or even half dragon. A strange imitation of creatures and beings who are already humanoid in appearance and structure. However when turning from one human form to another, the change is generally exact and easy.
One god of entropy, Hilma Von Sparkaus snuck her way back into the realms of men. She was inventive, creative and possibly insane. By the end of the Cataclysm War she was found guilty of multiple war crimes including tax evasion and failing to provide tables to eat from to captives. However she had found a loophole that not only allowed her access to the world of Drakken once more but also the chance to bring chaos. She convinced an aspiring mage to build her a temple that sells polymorph services. Gods are permitted access to their temples on Drakken at any time. However to be a God one needed a priest and some followers. Her main apprentice along with her other assistants across the world fit this bill. Antonio, or sometimes antoinette depending on what form she is in at the time. Became the leading disciple of Hilma Von Sparkaus. Most people call her Tony to save on trying to remember her name all the time. Especially when she is a him and shows people just how violent vexxed wizards can be.
Tony had been working at his day job for a few years now. Studying magic when the temple was quite and planting more hedges in the maze leading to the temple. He sat at his desk from his stool that was so high that his skirt and knees could be seen and sighed. He hadn't a friend in this whole place he realized. And ellie the lady who keeps coming in to have her hair done didn't exactly count. “I should go for a walk.” he said before jumping off his stool right over the counter into the foyer. He cast a quick spell and his form changed. His clothes always stayed the same and he never kept any boy clothes for some reason. His blond golden beared receded and his square jaw became small and slender. His Chest and stomach compressed and everything went from down to up. His legs lost their hair and grew smaller and her arms grew more dainty.
She looked quite stunning in her summer dress which a moment ago admittedly looked rather silly. “I wonder why i always choose such a small form when i transform myself. You’d think i would keep a wardrobe of bodys i can use.” Tony pulled a small notebook and pen from her satchel and wrote down a note to do exactly that. And also buy some boy clothes.
“Maybe i should go to the market and buy some now actually. I can even say hi to ellie.” She closed up the shop and put up closed sign and cast a hold portal spell on the door. And went off.
Micheal was quite distressed. He had been trapped in the wizards maze for so long he had forgotten if there really is a way out. He had been trapped in the wizards' psychic prison for years. Still searching yet as it turned out was still stuck in place the whole time. Was it a left he took or was it a right. The sun, the sun, were is the sun. He ran in fear tears running down his face. Archway number 28 passed over head. He kept running, archway number 29 passed overhead. He stopped and saw someone. Was it a false illusion of himself again. No it was a beautiful young woman. “You there, were you taken by the wizards too!” Tony stopped in place snapping out of her day dream. “Sorry sir but the store is closed for now you’ll have to come back tomorrow.” His eyes went wide and his face aghast.
“Tomorrow! Tomorrow! What do you mean tomorrow! I’ve been stuck in this maze for for over 12 years!” Tony put her hand to her face and looked at the madman. Her master told her about people like him. Its likely he’s a wizard from another entropic god.
“No. I planted these hedges only 3 years ago and grew them using magic. I know it looks like a lot but i didnt spend that long making them.”
“What, wait… the wizard. The beast. The psychic prison. It was all a lie a trick!”
“Ahh… yess..” Tony evidently couldn't didn't have much patience to begin with and did what any self respecting wizard would do. She fazed through the wall of the maze like a fat man in an awkward conversation. “Wait what no you cant be an illusion to.” Michael suddenly heard it again. The tell tale sign of a wild wizard sneaking by. He knew what happened last time he locked eyes with the creepy hat wearing tri-ped and ran deeper into the maze.
Tony continued her walk through the hedge maze garden. Beads of sweat were running down her face. “What a weirdo.”
“Yea tell me about it.” Tony looked down and saw a skeleton covered in moss and leaves.
“Oh. Hello Mr skeleton, how is your day going so far.”
“Its ok. The wild life seem to be having fun playing with the new guy. Hell he gave me a good kick in the ribs too when he saw me” He starts cackling loudly “Keh Keh Keh Keh. Spooked em real good i did.”
“Your supposed to help with the gardening Mr skeleton.”
“I know i know. Boy probably never seen a dead guy in his life.” Tony stopped to reflect on that statement for a moment. Have things really become so peaceful? Have people really gone so far that they’ve never seen another man die.
“Aye, don’t let me get you down, miss. Mr bones was busy putting together a fun trap that would put the fear of entropy back into the hearts of mortal kind.”
“Im not worried about people not dying Mr bones. We won't have any customers if people simply COULDN’T attend the temple. But now I'm curious. Whats Mr bones cooked up this time.”
Its impossible to tell if a skeleton is grinning on account of skeletons always grinning. But tony was certain he was definitely doing it on purpose this time.
“Oh its such a fun little idea. So, do gooder adventurers and temple knights walk in and see the big obvious illusion thats the gauntlet of hell right.”
“Mhmm.”
“And they see a carriage attached to a rail that goes over a deep watery pit with a big sign that says ‘Mr Bones Wild Ride’ and think that sounds less dangerous!”
“I see. Then it just runs them into the pit and kills them?”
“Nope! It takes them on a several week long trip very slowly around a special section of the maze. Since all the ground under the rail the carriage is attached to is 100ft deep they cannot get out and have to wait for it to go around and spit them off at the start.”
“Your plan is to kill them with boredom…”
“He was going for starvation but sure lets go with boredom.”
“Im almost tempted to go on Mr Bones Wild ride.” She said sarcastically.
“No you dont.” Said Mr skeleton who was humourless.

not a request, but what do you think the bad end of each route would be? i'm having too much fun with your otome au omg
In general, every bad ending will start like this: the school festival does horribly. You did your best, but whether through shoddy management or a failure at rousing interest, this is the worst festival NRC has seen in years. Whereas in the good ending, your LI will invite you to the festival to enjoy the fruits of your labor, in the bad ending, you’re left to pick up the pieces and deal with the disappointment of the entire student body...
(spoilers for twst chapters 1 through 6!)
Riddle Rosehearts
His mother was right. You were a bad influence on him, and breaking away from the rules would only lead to disaster. The best thing for him to do is to listen to her. So he breaks up with you, and spends all his time studying, and anyone who breaks the rules is punished as much as possible. He’s fine. He’s fine, because this is how he’s always lived, and he’s just going back to how everything was before. Surely if he keeps following the rules, he’ll find happiness just like his mother said, right? It doesn’t matter if everyone stares at him with contempt and fear, and he just can’t seem to fill the emptiness in his chest. Because his mother has never, ever been wrong.
Leona Kingscholar
He was never good enough. He was never going to be good enough, and it was stupid of him to even hope. Of course he would never beat his brother in anything. Of course he was always going to be a failure. Dating you was just a way to pass the time, and now he has no use for you. Did you really think he took this stupid relationship seriously? If his hands twitch with the urge to pull you closer when you walk away, then all he has to do is push his desire down. He’s good at that. If he gets held back-- if all his teachers tell him he’s a lost cause-- if all he does is skip and lash out, and not even Jack or Ruggie can convince him otherwise-- well, it was stupid of everyone else, especially you, to think he could be different.
Azul Ashengrotto
He can’t do this again. He can’t be the object of everyone’s contempt, the source of their stares and whispers. Hasn’t he changed? Hey, he’s so much different now, right? He’s no longer the lame little kid he used to be, so why is it that everyone still looks at him like that? Why? Was nothing he did good enough? Every nasty rumor about him spirals out of control, and even the Leech twins can’t do damage control to save his reputation. And you? Ah, he can’t even face you anymore. Now that you know the truth, you must hate him too, right? How disgusted you must be at his pathetic crush on you. He never had a chance, so he’ll just quietly transfer somewhere else, where he can start over again.
Kalim Al-Asim
He gets it now. He really does. All he does is make things worse, huh? You and Jamil have always had to clean up his messes, and he’s been too oblivious to notice all the trouble he’s caused. No wonder Jamil hates him. Maybe you hate him, too, because he screwed up the festival, and now you were going to lose your scholarship, and it was all his fault. He’s never had to work hard for anything, so he can’t understand your desperation. But he can take responsibility for what he’s done, right? He can quit the student council, and apologize to you and Jamil, and take the fall for how badly the festival ended up being. He doesn’t deserve anything. Not to be Jamil’s friend, not to be your lover.
Vil Schoenheit
He has to be good enough. He has to be good enough because there’s just no other option for him. If he’s not good enough, what has he been so desperately working for...? Why? Why is it that he can never, ever beat Neige? Why is that he can never get the roles he wants? He can’t face you like this. He promised himself he wouldn’t until he fulfilled his goals, and became the most beautiful actor on the stage. He wants everyone’s eyes on him. Was he asking for too much? Well, that’s fine. Then he’ll just keep going. Because... huh? That’s funny. He can’t really remember why he was trying so hard anymore. All that it matters is that he does whatever it takes to reach his goals, no matter how under-handed, right?
Idia Shroud
He can’t escape, can he? His family legacy weighs too heavily on him. Ortho had encouraged him to step outside more, and you had given him hope that things could be different, but... nothing he does matters. He’s trapped. It’s your fault, it has to be your fault for making him feel so hopeful, because if he doesn’t blame it on you... then it means he was doomed from the start. So he blocks you on every social media, and he resigns from student council, and stops going to classes. His life was planned out for him from the very beginning, so he might as well embrace it, right? There’s no need to go outside anymore. There was never a point in the first place.
Malleus Draconia
He was always going to be alone. That was expected. That was natural. Maybe he just lived in a different world from everyone else, so out of reach that no one could touch him. You had tried, but it simply wasn’t enough. Someone like him couldn’t be saved. Ah, maybe he shouldn’t have met you at all, even if the very thought tears him apart. Because he loves you, he loves you so much, but it’s worse to have known you and lost you, then to have never known you at all. What is he going to do, now that he’s known your warmth? Knowing he would never have you is just another burden for him to bear.

[ YOU'RE MY ORBIT ! ] 09 - BLUE HOUR.
Tumblr media
why beomgyu had urged you — more like, sat you down on the seat of the cab with his own hands because you would not sit unless he answered your questions full of frantic but discreet what’s and why’s – you’re never gonna know.
just moments ago, you were all loud and giggly, laughing your ass off at gaeul’s joke with how one of the actors in the haunted house weirdly looked like your cranky physics teacher. but now, you’re the complete opposite of that. being seated with taehyun alone was not something you’re quite comfortable with yet for some reason, despite having done things with each other as friends which could pass off as something much more. you felt cornered, especially with the fact that you had no other place to go until the ride ends. you just hoped that taehyun wouldn’t ask something that would place you in the hot seat.
the silence that took forever was getting unbearable, you feeling defeated inside when he wouldn’t bring to speak up first. maybe he felt uncomfortable? your chest felt heavy, thinking that he’s probably caught on, and all that’s left is–
“look,” his calm voice interrupted your train of thoughts that was about to send you to an edge, taehyun’s gaze directed outside as your eyes followed it. a soft gasp left your lips as you looked at the illuminated city below for the approaching night, and most especially amazed at the beautiful sky that showed above, a shade of blue blanketing over the city. as the cab elevated more, you could see more of the sun setting just below the horizon. your hand gripped tightly on the cushion of your seat, your fear of heights slowly kicking in, but you were way too entranced by the blue heavens surrounding a small crescent that was shining.
“it’s the blue hour,” taehyun calmly spoke. you internally heaved out a sigh of relief when he broke the silence first. was he aware of how awkward it was getting too? although it’s not that hard to notice, you hoped he wasn’t, “beautiful, isn’t it?”
“it is,” you nodded, maintaining your gaze at the sight, a bit too nervous to face him ahead, “have you ridden a ferris wheel before?”
“no, it’s my first time,” taehyun smiled softly. he lifted a leg and rested it over the other, trying to make himself comfortable in contrary to the current atmosphere between you that he knew was slowly settling, “i’ve gone to theme parks like this before but we never really stayed long enough to try out this ride. it’s your first time too, right?” he asked, noticing the way your hands had gripped the soft material of your seat in an unusually tight manner.
“yeah, first time riding one.”
he grinned, “i was actually quite surprised you were able to make it today and not stuck in your dorm studying,” he confessed, a certain fondness in his eyes was somehow evident, “you study hard enough already, i think.”
you sank a bit into your seat, gradually letting loose of the stiffness of your motions, “i know. but i have to keep my grades afloat so that my parents can allow me to partake in anything non-academic related so i can prove that it isn’t a distraction,” the mood between you transitioned from awkward to comfortable, for that you were glad, but it was getting somehow gloomy. you tried not to sound dejected as you didn’t want to make him feel uneasy because you were supposed to have fun, not rain on parades. although taehyun has been your friend for quite a while now, you found it hard to be vulnerable in front of him. “so i’m glad that you’re there. i-i mean— as a friend, of course. you know, giving me moral support and taking your time to help me in my studies sometimes when you could be doing something else and using your time productively instead,” you chuckled lightly, with a hint of bitterness you almost wish he could pick up. you were just generally envious of the fact that your friends had parents supportive of what they love doing. good for them if they do, but you know that you have to work on being happy for others more.
your eyes watched the boy in front of you attempt to shuffle from his seat so that he could take one beside you instead, only to settle back down with his arm propped up on the seat for support after realizing that he needed to stay on his side of the cab. unfortunately. heart almost thumping at the action, you tried your hardest to suppress the feelings that were overflowing inside you.
“hey,” taehyun called softly after settling on his seat in a comfortable manner again as if he had never tried to transfer in the first place, looking at you with so much sincerity that you felt like you could cry just by the look on his face. everything felt like slowing down, as if the seconds left for your cab to reach the peak of the wheel turned into minutes, “i know my boundaries. i’m not someone who has all the time in the world because, like the others, i’m also a burdened university student in his fourth year,” he lets out a laugh, mood lifting when he saw you return his smile, “i have priorities, but i know what can be set aside and what can’t be. and knowing you for almost 2 years and becoming friends with you along the way, i think you should know by now that i can always set things aside for you as long as i don’t have anything urgent due. so don’t worry about me ‘not using my time productively’ because that’s my problem, and me helping you out is my choice. you’re one of my closest friends, you shouldn’t worry too much.”
you took a moment to process his words, heart melting every second that passed by, your lips pressed into a thin line. different shades of red decorated your now heated face, silently thankful that the evening was approaching so he wouldn’t catch a glimpse at the change in your facial features. for a second, you almost considered just confessing to him right here, right now, but you had to push that desire down knowing that your emotions are most probably clouding your judgment as of the moment. although he only referred to you as a close friend, you still felt special in a way, even when it was supposed to hurt. you weren't gonna lie, a part of you was a bit disappointed upon hearing the term, but you were content with the fact that you have this kind of relationship with him, and you wouldn’t exchange it for the world.
friends. is this how it’s supposed to be all along? your mind had pondered for a moment if you’re supposed to start getting used to accepting it now. all the mind debate, however, stopped before it could lead to even more overthinking upon hearing taehyun let out a chuckle, the corner of his lips curling into a small, warm smile.
“what’s funny?”
taehyun paused, taking a glance at the view in front of them once he realized that your cab had reached the peak of the wheel, then he spoke, “we should work on ‘dear sputnik’ after this, don’t you think?”
“huh?” your lips parted, in a bit of a daze trying to pick up if there was an underlying meaning through his statement that he was trying to imply — or maybe you were just trying to give meaning into everything?
“hm?” taehyun tilted his head innocently, “you write when inspiration strikes, right?”
your eyes blinked towards his direction, the gears in your brain coming at a full stop to even process stuff at the moment, “i mean, yeah, i guess we should?” you mindlessly replied, a bit of uncertainty in your voice, “or would you rather we do it after the battle of the bands?”
then came seconds-long silence before he responded, voice a bit quieter compared to moments ago, “after the competition it is.”
you pushed the whole conversation (that was undeniably awkward and confusing for you) to the back of your head, deciding to not think about it for now, but your questions remained floating above your mind. you wanted to focus on the present, and how it felt magical sitting under the blue hour with your favorite person – shamelessly, you are a bit of a romantic like that, and it shows sometimes. the selfish part of you just wished she could stop time because after this moment, you’re gonna have to let the day end, let him disappear into the night, and you don’t want that. you wanted to be trapped in this moment. but that isn’t possible, so all you could do was to simply relish and make the most out of it. eventually, what you initially worried about not going well ended with a fun, foolish night with the rest of your friends, and especially, with your special someone. it seemed like this day was all it took for you to realize that you needed to tell him soon. he wouldn’t know about what you have been feeling unless you tell him, assuming that he has not picked up anything yet. maybe on another blue hour, you’ll finally confess.

Jealousy
It was a quiet day at the Dimitrescu Castle. The girls were unusually calm going about their business in and out of the basement, keeping their messes down there for the most part. None of the staff was being chased down the corridors in fear of their life and even better; there were no crashing sounds of decorative pieces being broken. Only silence. You and Alcina settled in the library for the afternoon. It started off nice with the two of you lost in your own novels, but it wasn’t long until the vampire grew bored and wanted cuddles. You were more than happy to oblige. It was one of those days that you’d call perfect. Alcina lounged on the couch with her head resting on your lap. Her eyes are closed and all she can focus on is your rhythmic breathing and the feeling of your fingers gently massaging her scalp. A perfect lazy afternoon. You almost thought she had fallen asleep until suddenly her eyes were open, glowing their beautiful gold. Alcina raised her head and sat upright, eyes glued her eyed to the main doors.
"Someone coming, Darling?" You ask in a low voice, reaching blindly behind you for the weapon concealed under the cushions.
She nods. "Sounds like a woman running out of breath. Perhaps a maiden managed to escape the basement." She leaned toward you like she was ready to shield you from whoever was making their way down the corridor. You could hear the footsteps now, they were coming closer and closer to you. Alcina was right, it was definitely a woman, the footsteps were much too delicate to be a man. Said vampiress was practically on top of you now, her arm supporting her weight on the opposite side of you, just in case you needed to be protected.
Whoever it is was just outside the door. You both braced yourselves as the door now twisted. Just as Alcina was about to pounce on the intruder, you both recognized her as one of the maids. False alarm. It was only Mihaela, a very dear friend of yours from the below village. You grew up together and considered yourselves sisters. When her father passed away Alcina welcomed the girl into the castle with open arms. The girls had been introduced to Mihaela on more than one occasion and knew not to harm her. You'd like to think they consider her more or less a friend.
"What are you doing here, dear," Alcina immediately relaxes back onto the couch. "It's your day off, is it not?"
The girl nodded, physically unable to get any words out.
"Good Lord, Mihaela, did you run all the way up the mountain?"
She nodded again. Alcina stood to fetch her a tall glass of water. Mihaela eagerly accepted. "Y/n!" she rasped. "You'll never guess who's in the village right now asking about you."
You share a sideways glance with Alcina, waiting for the girl to continue. Who could possibly be asking about me?
"E/n, your ex!"
If you were drinking something you would have choked. That was a name you hadn't thought about in years. To say you were not expecting that would be the understatement of the century. You don't know what to say. What can you say? What could they possibly want with you after all these years? Money? A place to stay? Work?
Sweet spawn of Satan Aclina would kill them.
She's still staring at Mihaela with an expressionless look on her face.
"What?" You hope you simply heard her wrong.
Mihaela nods vigorously. "I know! I couldn't believe it either. There I was, helping my little brother open up shop for the day and I see them walk by. At first, I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, but the next thing I know they're inside the shop hugging me! I could barely get a word out I was so floored."
"I thought they left to tour Romania looking for their 'dream job?'"
"Didn't work out. I guess no one would keep her employment for long. They said they were too good for the jobs anyway, can you believe that?"
"Honestly? Yes. You remember how outlandish they were, guess they haven't changed too much."
Mihaela giggled. "It sure felt that way."
"So wait, how did my name get brought up?"
"They asked if you were still around- seemed pretty keen on seeing you again."
Alcina rolled her eyes. "Marvelous."
You take her gloved hand in yours and give it a reassuring squeeze. She eases up a little bit as you rub circles on top of her hand. "You said no, right?"
"Of course I did!"
"Then why do you look so nervous, Mihaela?" Alcina asked.
The girl stood like a statue, only moving to twiddle her thumbs. Silence fills the room as the matriarch waits patiently for the girl to speak. Her eyebrow arches as if she says "I'm waiting..."
Finally, Mihaela speaks. You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding in.</p>
"As I was leaving I heard them asking others of your whereabouts. It's only a matter of time before they find out the truth."</p>
"Well that's just fantastic then, isn't it? Now we can't even go down to our own village without risking an encounter."</p>
Mihaela gave a sympathetic smile. "Don't worry, Lady Dimitrescu. They're not staying in our village, just passing through. I believe they said the village just east of us, on the other side of the forest."
Alcina hummed. "Best to stay away then, don't you agree, Love?"
You couldn't nod your head quick enough. "Of course. What do they want with me though? I haven't even thought about them in years."
Mihaela shrugged. "I guess they just wanna talk? Reconnect with all our old friends? I didn't ask; just said you weren't around anymore."
"Couldn't you have just told them I died or something? That would have solved everything! They wouldn't be going around using about me AND if they ask to visit my grave you just bring them to the coolest tree in the forest and say I'm buried under it. My body intertwined with its roots. You could've had so much fun with the dramatics!"
"Do you think they'd be stupid enough to come looking her y/n up here?" Alcina asks in an almost hopeful tone.
Mihaela rolls her eyes. "Well, I only came to warn you. You know how...persistent they can be. Now that I'm here, may I stay and pick up some work?"
"Of course you may, my dear. If it's the trek back down you want to avoid I can always call a carriage for you."
"That's very generous of you, my Lady, but really, I don't mind. I like to keep busy."
Alcina nodded, accepting the answer. "Very well, dear. My study could use another dusting once you've regained yourself."
As the doors close behind Mihaela, the matriarch relaxes and lies back down with her head on your lap."Well, that was interesting."
You immediately start running your fingers through her hair. "No kidding, What the hell do they want from me? I thought we agreed we'd never have to look at each other ever again, now they wanna talk?"
"I wouldn't know. You've never told me about this person."
"I was sparing you, trust me." Alcina still looked up at you, her eyes flurrying with emotion. "There isn't much to tell, Al. We were together a few years and couldn't make it work so we started hurting each other, sometimes just out of spite. Really, Al, it's nothing I ever felt compelled to bring up; especially to you." You can't hold back a giggle. "You know how jealous you can be."
"I do not get jealous."
"Al, not two weeks ago you almost slaughtered the village butcher cause you didn't like the way he looked at me."
She rolled her eyes. "That swine was looking you up and down like you were nothing more than a piece of meat."
A comfortable silence fills the library. You're both lost in your own worlds together. Alcina stares up blankly at you as you continue to read."It was a serious relationship then? If it lasted a few years then it must have been."
You try to hide behind your novel and Alcina tosses it to the ground. You can't look her in the eyes without blushing and feeling really uncomfortable. "It was-umm...we were...briefly engaged."
"What?!" Alcina bolts up from her spot. "You were engaged?!"
You nod curtly. "Briefly engaged, yes."
Alcina just stares at you, completely flabbergasted. "When were you planning on telling me that?"
You pulled a confused face. "Um never? Why would I ever bring that up? Under what pretense is that an ok thing to bring up?"
"I..." She sighs, "I don't know."
"I'm sorry, Alcina. I didn't think it was a big deal."
"I suppose it's not. You're here now and that's all that matters."
You crawl on her lap and give her a sweet kiss. "And I'm not going anywhere."
Later That Night
You were out on the balcony gazing up at the array of constellations, waiting for Alcina to join you when there was a knock at the bedroom doors. Strange, no one is around at this hour. From your vantage point, it sounded like one of the servants talking to Alcina. He handed her something through the crack of the open door before having the door slammed in his face. Alcina joined you out on the balcony and handed you a rather beaten-up-looking envelope. "This was left for you by the main gates. Can't imagine who it's from?"
"Fuck, already?"
Alcina hummed as she sipped her wine. "A letter from your ex-fiancee."
"Wanna read it together?"
Alcina shakes her head but it looks forced. "It's none of my business."
"I don't care Alcina, really. This is clearly bothering you and I want to know what's going on between them and me."
"Well, if you're sure then." She hands you a letter opener and curls up next to you. The action briefly reminds you of a puppy looking for attention.
You waste no time opening the envelope and pull out a short, sloppily written letter.
I hope this letter finds you well. Please, before you crumple this up and throw it away please just hear me out. I want to apologize for how I treated you when we were together. Obviously, we were both dealing with a lot back then because we were young and stupid, but I'd like to think I've changed a lot since then. Don't get me wrong, I still have my moments, I'm only human, But I really have changed. If you still hate me and never want to talk to me again I understand. I wanted to say I'm sorry and see if we could make an effort to at least stay friends. I'm not the wreckless teenager you used to know and I've always thought about reaching out to you.
These past years of backpacking have taught me a lot and helped me grow up. I had to learn how to fix my own problems and not lean on someone else's support. I had to learn how to live off the land and support myself through the good and bad times. I realize now that I wasn't able to take care of you because I was unable to properly take care of myself. I see that now. You were never far from my mind; I thought about you every day I was gone.
The blacksmith told me you're working at Dimitrescu Castle as a handmaiden? Never thought you of all people would ever accept that kind of job, but hey, I guess I'm not the only one that changed. I hear it's pretty tough up there...then again you're the toughest person I've ever met. If anyone can handle it it's you. How are they treating you up there?  What's it like living in such a massive castle? You know me, I would probably lose my way and get lost haha.
I really hope you decide to write back, but no pressure. I understand everything we went through was...a lot to deal with and you want your space. Just in case you want to respond, I'll leave my address enclosed. A nice elderly couple is letting me stay with them in exchange for work. How sweet is that? It's mostly just labor chores around the house that need to be done so it's no big deal.
Best regards,
E/N
You share a look with Alcina who only scowls at the piece of paper. "I don't like the sound of this."
You shake your head, genuinely lost for words."I don't even know what to say, honestly."
"What do you want to do?"
"I don't know."
Alcina sighs and sits you on her lap, straddling her thick thighs. "I know you're going to say forget about them because of me," she silences you with a single finger to your lips. "But it's ok. I know you love me and only me. You're allowed to have friends outside the castle, my love, and I have no right to deny you. Even if this particular friend was your ex-fiancee; I trust you completely."
Your heart was melting in your chest. Even though it looks like it took all her strength to say those words you know she means it. 'Thank you, Alcina. I know you don't like this, but I would at least like to hear what they have to say. Our relationship wasn't a happy one at the end and, well, I don't know, I guess I just want some closure. But I promise every letter I get we will read together."
"Oh you don't have to do that, love, I trust you."
"I know and I appreciate that very much. But I want you to know exactly what's being said between the two of us, even if it's just to ease your mind about them."
Alcina smiles down at you and strokes your lips. "What have I done to deserve you?"
"Whatever it was, you definitely deserve me."
Three months and several letter exchanges later
“Why do we entertain this, again?”
You glanced up after opening the latest letter received. “Because, my love, all they’re looking for is a friend. It’s been a long time since they left the village and a lot has changed, the people included. Trust me, as soon as they make more friends down there they will get bored of me.”
Alcina only groaned in response as she laid herself down on the bed, rather dramatically, so her head was in your lap. “Doesn’t sound that way to me. Last week they said, and I quote, it means the world to me that we’re talking again. I can’t believe after all this time and everything we’ve been through you’re still willing to talk to me.” She sighed. “I’m still surprised myself.”
You lean down and kiss her lips chastely. She pulls you back onto her and bites your lower lip, causing you to gasp. She takes this opportunity to deepened the kiss, caressing your tongue with her own.
You only pull away when the need for oxygen is desperate. “You’re needy when you’re jealous.”
She scrunched her face in disgust. “I told you I am not jealous. There’s nothing to be jealous of. They are nothing.”
“It’s ok babe, I think it’s cute.” You kiss her sweetly. “Shows me how much you love me.”
A light blush powdered Alcina's cheeks. “Well, I do love you.”
“I love you too.”
She closes her eyes and focuses on the feeling of your fingers running through her hair. “So, what are they saying this time?”
“Nothing interesting. They’re still looking for work, I think they might still be holding out on us hiring them. Even though I made it very clear there’s no place for them here.”
“Absolutely not,” Alcina growled. “It’s bad enough I have to listen to you read these damned letters why would I want to hire them? Short-staffed or not that...person is not allowed in my home.”
“I know Darling, I made it very clear. You know that.”
“I know you did. You were sweet enough to let me read it.”
You chuckle as you continue reading. “I let you read all the letters, Alcina. You’re my partner and I love you. You have a right to know what’s going on.”
She moved to sit up and kissed the top of your head. “I appreciate that.”
She made her way over to the vanity and starts taking off her makeup. You paid her little attention as you continued glazing over the letter. This has become your weekly routine; open the letter, read it first by yourself, and then give it to Alcina to read over so she can make fun of the person for the rest of the night. You think it’s her way of letting all her jealous energy out. She knows you and this particular ex were extremely close. It was the deepest relationship you had been in previous to Alcina. But it was also the most toxic relationship you had ever been in.
Every week you got the letter you would assure her there was no reason to get jealous or upset as she does. Not that you minded the extra cuddles and kisses that came along with jealous-clingy Alcina. It was cute. The way she gets close and cuddly with you like an attention-starved kitten.
You were about halfway through the letter when you realized the handwriting changed ever so slightly. It appeared sloppier than the previous paragraphs, almost as if the writer’s hand was shaking as they wrote. Then as you continued down the page the reason became apparent.
“....what are the odds us giving our relationship a second chance? I’ve changed a lot over the years and now that I’m back...maybe things would be different? I never lost feelings for you. This has been on my mind for a while now, but I’ve been too scared to bring it up until today.”
Oh god....
You turn back to Alcina who thankfully hasn’t noticed your sudden nervous energy. You take a few deep breaths, trying to calm your nerves, before continuing.
“My feelings never really went away, only transferred from person to person cause I wanted them to be you. But they weren’t and never can be. You have always been so special to me- you should know that by now. It’s nice having you here again. You were a major part of my life growing up. I wish I could change not having you around these past years cause you were my everything.”
You raise a hand to cover your mouth and bit down on one of your fingers.
As you look up to check on her your heart sinks as you’re met with her eyes burning into you through the reflection of the mirror. She knows something’s wrong. Of course, she knows- she always knows! It’s like she can smell your nervousness from across the room. She doesn’t break eye contact even when removing her lipstick.
You try your hardest to pretend she isn’t staring and continue on reading.
“If there’s a way to make your feelings for me come back you better believe I’ll find it. But I know I can’t force you to feel something you don’t anymore. It’s just always been so easy to connect with you. That’s why I want to try and rekindle our flame. You’re such a loving, generous, kind-hearted person to be around. I always admired you for that. To this day I’ve never been able to connect with someone as deeply as I did you.”
“For fuck sake...” you thought. “It can’t get any worse than this right? It can’t possibly get any worse.”
You don’t have to look up to know that Alcina’s stare has intensified. Her eyes are practically burning holes in the back of your head. You know the game she’s playing too...she’s gonna wait until she knows you’re finished reading and come over to read it for herself and let the rages of hell consume her. After all, you’ve seen how out of control her temper can become, this year alone she’s gone through three replicas of her vanity. And that was only because Mother Miranda called.
“....I’m glad to hear you’re in good health. Your health has always been something I worry tirelessly about, even when we weren’t on good terms.”
You sigh in relief. “Ok, that’s not so bad. I guess I can forgive that one. My health has always been up and down, even Alcina worries like a dog over me some days.”
“When I leave again maybe you can come with me? We always did talk about living in the country. We can have our own land for whatever animals you want and a barn to match.”
You actually yelp out of surprise. “Holy shit that’s worse...that’s so much worse. Alcina is going to be livid when she sees this.”
Your attempt to steady your breathing fails miserably. The most you can hope for now is to not make eye contact- then she sees how much of a nervous wreck you are. “Don’t look up, don’t look up, don’t look up, don’t look- FUCK!”
In an instant, Alcina’s up and making her way to stand behind you, won’t glass in hand. She’s already glaring down at the piece of paper like it personally cussed her out. “What did that lowlife say this time?”
“Alcina, I don’t think you should-“ it’s too late. She’s already snatched it out of your hands.
You start inching away as you watch her facial expressions morph from displeased to disgust, to seething as her eyes scan the bottom of the page. Her breathing is heavy, her nostrils are flaring, and her eyes glowing a bright gold as she recites the final paragraph out loud.
“I’m always going to be here for you from now on. I made the mistake of missing all those years with you. I ain’t missing no more.
Goodnight, MY LOVE?!”
You bring a hand up to hook around her arm. “Calm down, Alci.”
She doesn’t respond. Everything is quiet for what felt like hours when in reality it was only about a minute. You watched her eyes scan over the page over and over again until they fall back on you.
You have never really been scared of the vampiress, she never gave you a reason to be. But those eyes hold no mercy. You want to run away and cower somewhere she’ll never find you, the abandoned passages maybe, but fear has you frozen in place.
Her smile doesn’t reach her eyes, it’s one of those psychopathic smiles someone sees right before they die. She notices your cautiousness and is quick to retract her claws and thread her fingers through your hair. “If you’ll excuse me, darling. There’s some business I must attend to in the basement.”
“Alci-“
“I’ll be back later tonight, porumbel mic. Don’t wait up.”
Hours passed before you abandoned the idea of sleeping and decided to stroll around the castle. It was usually only done with Alcina when one of you had trouble falling asleep, but since she was still nowhere to be found you figured it couldn't hurt to try by yourself. Bloodcurdling screams from the basement were particularly loud tonight. The girls must have found themselves new toys to play with. No matter which part of the castle you were in you could hear the muffled cries of the damned. You wrote it off as Daniela and Cassandra being particularly intense. Eventually, you ran into Bela while in the west wing. She flashed you a broad smile.
"A little late for you, isn't it y/n?"
"Couldn't sleep. Your sisters are having a lot of fun tonight, huh?"
The eldest vampire sibling shot you a confused look. "What are you talking about?"
"All the screaming in the basement, that's them, right?"
She started laughing. "Oh no, y/n, that's all Mother's doing. She's pretty pissed about something; I haven't seen her this mad in decades! And from the looks of it, I bet you know why."
You rubbed the back of your neck and look around the corridor, really anywhere other than Bela's eyes. "Well..."
"Ooh! What is it? What did you do?"
"I didn't do anything, not really. It's just, someone I used to be in a relationship with has been sending me letters and Alci thought it would be alright if I responded. Just to make sure they knew I was happy and safe and all that kind of stuff. Then after I'm done reading what they sent me I give the letter to your mother to let her read. So she knows there's nothing going on between the two of us, ya know?"
Bela nods, stars shining bright in her eyes. "OOh what did the letter say?"
"They um, confessed they still had feelings for me. And they were thinking about running away with me to the countryside."
Bela looked like she was going to explode from all this excitement. You knew she was only pretending to not know about all the other letters. Bela was the gossip seeker of the family. Nothing made the girl happier than to have something to blackmail you with, or anyone really. There was no escaping her wrath, not even Alcina could.
"Mother must have been seething!"
"Yeah," you felt rather guilty about it. "I guess she's taking her anger out on the basement dwellers."
Bela giggled. "Better them than us, right?"
"No question about it."
It's after three in the morning when Alcina finally crawls into bed next to you. She's already stripped herself naked and there's a thin layer of sweat covering her body. She wraps herself around your back and you try to be as still as possible, giving the illusion you're fast asleep. You should have known better. This is Alcina Dimitrescu we're talking about here. The woman can probably smell your anxiety from the other side of the castle.
"I told you not to wait up."
You sigh and roll over on your back. "I slept a few hours, then woke up and couldn't fall back. Even walking around the castle didn't help."
The vampire shifted her body so she was almost laying on top of you; her arm is draped over your middle, a leg nudging between yours, and she's nestling her face in the crook of your neck.
"Do you feel any better?"
Even in the low light of the moon, you can see her looking at you. "A little bit."
An uncomfortable silence filled the bedroom. Neither of you knew what to say if there was anything to be said. You decide to break the silence.
"I'm sorry, Alcina. You were right from the beginning. I shouldn't have engaged with them," your eyes widen at your own words. "Sorry, not the word I should have used."
She chuckles into your neck before giving your pulse point a kiss. "It's not your fault, porumbel mic. My anger is not directed at you."
"Still, I should have known this would happen. I'm not responding, of course."
She starts kissing and licking down your neck. "Good. Alcina Dimitrescu does not share her porumbel mic with anyone."
Soft quiet moans began escaping your mouth, which encouraged Alcina even more. You shared a brief moment of unspoken words before joining your mouths to one another. You move to straddle her and press your body into her with everything you've got. For the rest of the night, you proceed to remind Alcina just how much you love her.
A week later in the village
It was a quaint little village, full of blossoming flowers in the spring and cheerful wildlife wandering around the outskirts. The people of the village fended for each other all year round. It was a very tight-knit place to live. Chatter fills the air along with the tantalizing aromas from various shops as the people go about their daily routines. You and Bela had accompanied Alcina while running some errands. Nothing important, really, just picking up various perfumes and lotions the matriarch was running low on. Bela made herself comfortable sitting by the fountain in the village square, growing rather impatient and bored.
You were about to suggest going in the shop with Alcina to help move things along quicker until you heard it. That single sound made your heart stop beating and drop to the pit of your stomach.
"Y/n!" They called from a distance. You groaned when you saw their silhouette approaching, and nearly pulled your own hair out when you saw how happy they were to see you. Bela, however, looked very pleased with the change of atmosphere. "OOH y/n is that them? The one from the letters that wants to run away with you?"
You nod.
As they get closer Bela pretends to gag. "Ew, you were seriously going to marry that?"
You elbow her in the side, hoping they didn't hear that. "I was young ok. Please just go get your mother and tell her to hurry up."
The girl flashed you an evil smile. "With pleasure."
She got away just in time. They greeted you not with a handshake, or a playful punch to the shoulder, but with a bone-crushing hug that lasted a little too long to be comfortable. "How's it going y/n? Gosh, I never thought I would be lucky enough to run into you here!" They pulled away and looked you over a few times. You had the inclination to cover yourself even though you were completely clothed. "You look incredible."
"Thanks, it's uh, nice to see you too."
"So what are you doing here little miss handmaiden? Running some errands for your Lady or is it your day off or something? Do handmaidens even do stuff like that? I don't know. Anyways, if you aren't doing anything right now, you wanna grab something to eat?"
Fuck no
Before you could think of an excuse Bela was at your side again, smiling even more wickedly than before. "Mother is making her final purchase and then we're returning home. We best meet her at the carriage." Her eyes fixate on the person standing opposite of her like a wolf to its prey. "You must be e/n. I've read so much about you!"
You elbow her in the stomach. "Bela!"
Meanwhile, e/n had never looked so embarrassed. "Oh, so you let them read all our-"
The gods were smiling upon you today. Being saved from awkward conversations left and right.
"Come along, my darlings. Time to go home," Alcina calls behind you. Your heart starts racing in your chest, whether it was from anxiety or anticipation you had no idea. As soon as Alcina locked eyes with your ex her entire face shifted. She went from calm and happy Mother Alcina to cold-hearted Lady Dimitrescu almost instantaneously. Your ex was in awe of the tall woman before them. They heard rumors about the Lady of course but always believed them to be just that; rumors and wives' tales.
Bela ran to her mother's side. "Mother, look, it's e/n from the letters."
You pinched the bridge of your nose and could swear you feel a migraine coming on.
Alcina looked them over and nodded. Her expression was neutral, but you knew her eyes held no mercy. "So it seems."
Your ex bowed in respect to Lady Dimitrescu ad greeted her politely. It wasn't bad actually, too bad they're already on Alcina's blacklist. "It's an honor to meet you, Lady Dimitrescu."
She smiles, "I know it is, dear."
You lost composure for a split second and let out a snort. "Apologies, my lady, are you ready to return to the carriage?"
Alcina only waved you off. "Oh come now, my love, there's no need to be so formal. They're a friend, after all, are they not?"
Yup, definitely feel a migraine coming on. Though you had to admit, the look on their face was absolutely priceless. They rubbed the back of their neck awkwardly. "I'll just um...I'll see ya around, y/n."
Alcina wore the proudest smile you had ever seen as they walked off.
"You're ridiculous sometimes, you know that?"
The vampires only laughed in response. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Alcina opened the carriage door for you and Bela to enter first, ever the gentleman, and took a moment to survey the village around her. Only when her eyes met your ex's did she enter the carriage herself, pulling her girls close.

Insistence
Summary: Loki is being stubborn even when injured, not wanting help for fear of seeming weak. You ignore his protests and tend to him anyways.
Pairing: Loki x Field/Combat Medic!Reader
Word Count: 2,864
Warnings/Disclaimers: Mild violence. Injuries, burns. I don’t go into gory detail. Minor character death alluded to.
A/N: This one took longer than I anticipated. I wound up rewriting it midway through. The whole combat medic has been on my list of ideas for a while with only the most basic idea in my head. Once I start writing, it veered off in a different direction.

“I do not require your assistance, Mortal,” Loki spat, his voice lacking the venom it was usually laced with especially when you were trying to do your job.
You scoffed, gently dabbing at the tiny lacerations on his cheek. “Well, you’re getting it anyways. What kind of field medic would I be if I didn’t help everyone on the team?”
He scowled as you brushed a rogue ribbon of inky hair behind his ear so you could make sure you didn’t miss anything. In truth, this was the first time he didn’t continuously insist on pushing you away. There was always something about him not needing your treatments or someone else needing to be tended to first - Any excuse he could use to deny help. Then again, there was nowhere for him to run this time.
Either Fury’s intel had been wrong, your team’s plans had been leaked or both. The HYDRA base you all had been sent to had been overstocked in both operatives and ammunition. Even with the legacy team that accepted Loki almost half a year ago, you weren’t prepared.
Nat had been the worst, immediately being taken down when she attempted to infiltrate the base. That was when the HYDRA members started spilling out from within and around the base. With the rest of the team providing backup, Clint was able to help you lug her back to the Quinjet where you cleaned the deep gash in her side and stitched her together again. Of course, Clint wasn’t going to stand down. He stayed by the ramp, firing arrow after arrow to keep some of the heat off his companions. You wound up having to patch up his bleeding leg while he continued to fight.
Steve was the next to return. He collapsed in a seat as you reached him. Bruised and battered, he was mostly alright save for the possibility of some broken ribs. Tony crashed-landed onto the ramp, the metal of his suit screeching and scraping as he skidded inside. He was in the same boat as Steve along with his suit quickly losing power. There wasn’t much left he could do. Thor lumbered backwards into the Quinjet, Mjolnir still boomeranging out into the field to take down what enemies he could. With the God of Thunder standing guard, Clint disappeared to the cockpit.
The engines whirred to life. “Okay, guys! Jet’s primed and ready for take off. We got everyone?” Clint called out.
You took a look around, hearing the engines ready themselves. Thor cursed under his breath as he continued throwing his hammer. Where was… Oh… Oh no.
Shoving the cotton ball doused in antiseptic into Tony’s hand, you peeled away from his side and hovered near Thor. Against the bright white snow, a twister of black, green and gold ferociously danced. Loki was still out there.
“Do NOT take off yet!” you hollered back.
With a huff, you opened a hidden compartment and pulled out a sniper rifle along with its tripod. After piecing together the barrels, you attached the small tripod and settled on the floor, taking aim in Loki’s general direction. You popped off a couple rounds onto any of the HYDRA agents who dared try to catch the mischievous god off guard.
Tony shuffled to his feet, cursing when he realized just what was happening. By this time, he had removed himself from the drained Iron Man suit. “Trade places, Legolas! Reindeer Games is still out there!” He dashed to the cockpit.
You fired again, this operative having gotten too close for comfort. Loki had turned just in time to see opponent drop dead at his feet. With a near indiscernible nod that could only be seen through your scope, he carried on, slowly making his way to the Quinjet.
Despite his own injury, Clint was swiftly back at your side. With the extra backup, an exhausted Thor was able to make it off the ramp, farther into the fray and meet his brother halfway. Clint and you kept the path clear enough for them to rush back. It was stunning to see how well they could work together when they needed to.
The moment they were in reach of the ramp, you leapt to your feet and with Clint pulled the exhausted brothers on board. The ramp lifted as you tugged Loki into sitting, and the Quinjet took off. So, here you were, attempting to take care of the trickster’s wounds after having checked on Thor.
“I am a god,” he sneered half heartedly. “I will heal quickly. This is unnecessary.” He winced lightly as the antiseptic stung his cheek.
You sighed, “Any one can heal those cuts, but just because you can do so faster than the rest of us, doesn’t mean you are impervious to infections. Just less likely to get them.”
He went silent at that, either realizing you were right or just not desiring to argue further. Done with one side, you swapped to the seat on the other side of him. With a clean, freshly wetted cotton ball, you gingerly began cleaning his other cheek. All things considered, Loki didn’t look too bad. At least, not as bad as he could have. With your freehand, you coaxed him to lift his chin up so you could tend to the lacerations on his neck.
“Why?” His voice was soft, just loud enough for only you to hear him.
“Why, what?” You copied his volume level.
“Why do you insist on this?”
You stopped your ministrations, raising your gaze to look him in the eye. His face was uncharacteristically soft as he looked back at you. Though he tried to hide it, his aventurine eyes held an unfamiliar vulnerability.
“Well,” you started slowly, carefully choosing your words. “You are a member of this team, and you should be treated as such.” Fingers still ghosting his chin, you guided him to face you. “You deserve the same treatment I would give everyone else.”
His brow furrowed as he studied you cautiously. It took him a moment before he finally spoke again. “Should that be what you wish to believe, it is fine by me.” You could hear the sharpness returning to his voice.
The god turned away, leaning back in his seat with closed eyes, effectively ignoring you. Now, you could have chosen to change seats, to move away from the cold attitude clearly directed at you, but you stayed. One, you were tired like everyone else and didn’t feel like getting up. Two, you were going to be stubborn and bug him with your presence.
Eventually a calm quiet enveloped the Quinjet, seeping into your bones. Feeling your eyes droop, you settled in your seat for as much comfort as you could get before drifting off.
You imagined hours had passed by the time you woke. Your muscles ached from the position you had fallen into, your neck being the worst. Tentatively rolling your shoulder, you tried to sit up and stretch only to find you couldn’t. Your head was resting you thought was the side of your seat, but there was a light weight keeping on top keeping you from moving. You opened your eyes to a shocking sight.
No, your sleeping position was a bit different from what you thought. Your makeshift pillow happened to be Loki’s shoulder. He, in turn, had his head on yours, probably having fallen asleep shortly after you. It seemed like he was still asleep, his chest rhythmically rising and falling in a way that could be described as soft. You could only imagine the tranquil expression on his face. There was absolutely no way you were going to look. You would probably move too much and wake him, and that would be the end of this little moment.
The rest of the team was asleep, save for Thor. Even with exhaustion drenching his body, he was wide awake, grinning like a madman when he realized you had caught him watching. How long had he bared witness to the scene unfolding? With a scowl, you pressed your finger to your lips, signaling him to keep quiet. He merely nodded, that knowing smile still plastered on his face.
Tumblr media
The call you received from Maria shocked the lingering sleep from your body. A small team had been formed to infiltrate a hostage situation - a team that included Nat, Loki, Steve and another field medic whose name you hadn’t even had the chance to remember yet. The mission had soured once they reached the hostages. Everyone was being brought back to the compound for treatment. It was all hands on deck.
Quickly shucking your pajamas, you threw on a pair of scrubs and sneakers and made a mad dash to the Med Bay. The place was pure chaos. Most of the doctors and nurses were tending to the hostages in the main rooms. The team was near the back in separate rooms.
Spotting Maria who was attempting to direct people and bring some semblance of order to the wing, you rushed over to her. “Where do you need me?”
She flipped through the files on her data pad, not even looking up to see who she was speaking to. “Everyone has a medic taking care of them except for Steve and Loki. Start there.”
“Understood,” you nodded, leaving Maria to do what else was needed.
Down the hall, you took note of the injuries you could see of the various patients. Burns… Lots of burns… What in the world happened?
Passing by Nat’s room, she seemed mostly alright. She gave you a minute bob of her head that you reciprocated before meeting up with Steve. He had burns along one side of his body. Thankfully, the treatment would be minimal compared to some of the others.
“Hey,” he greeted you with a grimace as you began your work.
“How’re you feeling?”
He huffed out a tiny laugh, “Honestly, not terrible.”
With the top half of his suit tugged down, you gingerly cleaned and added ointment to soothe the wounds. “What happened out there?”
“One of the hostages… Well… He had an explosive… Saddled up to Trevor…”
Oh… The field medic… Oh god…
Steve sucked in a breath like he couldn’t get enough air in his lungs. “Loki tried to contain it, but… We were all a little late in reacting.”
Your hands stilled. “How bad is he?”
The super soldier plucked the salve container from your fingers. “He’ll live, but if you’re really that worried about him, I can handle the rest of this.”
“You know him.” You tried to snag the container back. “He’ll come up with any excuse to not let us help him. If he knows I left you here, he’ll insist I leave him alone.”
Steve held it away from you with his good arm like a kid holding its younger sibling’s toy out of reach. “I doubt he will do that this time,” he smiled reassuringly, a glint of knowing shining in his eyes.
Leaning on the bed, you heaved a sigh. “You’re gonna drag me in there if I refuse, aren’t you?”
“Yup,” he ended with a pop. “Now get going!” He shooed you away.
“Fine,” you groaned, playfully dramatic. “But you can bet I will be back later to make sure you did everything right.”
He let loose a chuckle. “I’d expect nothing less.”
Leaving Steve to his own devices, you went to the next room down the hall. The door was shut and the privacy blinds were closed. Was Loki hurt that badly that the others had to be hidden away?
With a quick announcing knock, you steeled yourself and pushed the door open, sliding in before silently closing it again. When you turned to face Loki, you were met with something you hadn’t quite expected to see. What burns still littered his skin looked as though they were mostly healed over, but that wasn’t the problem. With his armor off, you were able to get a good look at his arms and upper torso.
Blue. His skin was blue. Ridges meticulously adorned his arms, up his chest and even his face. It was such a stark contrast to his Asgardian form, yet it still suited him well. From unmarred, alabaster skin to decorated, indigo skin. Perfection in both forms.
“Loki?” you announced your presence as softly as possible.
His face scrunched as he squinted his eyes open to find you standing beside him. “Aren’t there others that need tending to?” The hoarseness of his voice betrayed the harshness he attempted to convey.
“We’ve enough staff to manage everyone well enough,” you shook your head with a smile.
Now that you were closer, you could see he was sweating profusely. His breaths were so shallow. Brushing away a locket of hair matted to his forehead, you found his skin warm… Much warmer than it should be. Instead of recoiling immediately, you laid your palm flush with his forehead. “You are burning up!”
You pulled away to pop outside the door. Waving down a nurse, you asked him to bring in as many ice packs as he could. What was currently stored in the room would not be enough. Returning, you pulled out all of the packs. You wrapped them in some towels so they wouldn’t directly touch his skin. Then, you placed them around Loki, hoping this would be enough until the nurse got back with you.
The god rested silently while you worked. It was only when you pulled up a chair next to him to keep an eye on his vitals that he finally spoke. “Why are you still here?” A sort of vulnerability leaked out of his voice.
“Because you need help,” you deadpanned, really not wanting this argument again.
“No.” His brow furrowed with frustration, ruby eyes staring at the ceiling. “Why haven’t you run yet?”
You brushed a little more of his tresses away from his face. “And why would I do that?”
“Are you blind? Do you not see the monstrosity before you?” He scowled, still refusing to look at you.
“No, I don’t.”
He barked out a laugh that he immediately regretted. “Then what, pray tell, do you see?”
Reaching across for his cheek, you guided him to face you, receiving little resistance. His skin was still hot but not quite as much as before. “I see a person who risked his own safety to protect a bunch of civilians. There’s no way you could be a monster even with your jötun form.”
“So, you do know what I am…” A deep frown etched across his face.
“Yes… If it makes you feel any better, only a select few know. I have to know the medical histories of all the Avengers if I’m to treat them in the field.”
Silence…
“And for what it’s worth, this,” your thumb graced the apple of his cheek, “is not scary in the slightest.”
His eyes searched yours frantically for any hint of dishonesty. A trembling hand raised and settled on yours, pressing it further on his face. His lips parted to speak but was interrupted by a light knock on the door.
With an apologetic smile, you slid your hand from his grasp. The nurse from before had returned with the ice packs. A quick “thank you” and you brought the tray in the room, shutting the door behind you. Just as you had before, you surrounded him with the new packs. Loki’s chest rose and fell more deeply as he cooled down even further, skin morphing into a pale sky blue and eyes returning to the bluish-green you’ve come to know.
“Well, you’re at least responding quickly. How do you feel?” You hovered at his bedside.
He locked eyes with you again, a cocktail of emotions swirling about despite his attempts to keep a straight face. “I-” he cleared his throat. “Better…”
“Good, good…” Your hands fiddled with the sheets. “Is there anything you need?”
Loki’s lips pursed, and he swallowed thickly. His digits brushed against yours, halting your nervous tick. “Stay?”
“Of course,” you breathed.
The corners of your mouth tugged upwards as you glided your fingers into his palm like two puzzle pieces meant to fit together, giving his hand a light squeeze. You pulled your seat closer and sat back down.
Just as you made yourself comfortable, Loki raised your hand to his face. His lips grazed over your knuckles as he whispered, “Thank you…”
“Anytime.” And you meant it. “I’ll stay for as long as you’ll have me.”
He let your entwined hands float back down to the bed as he chuckled. “If that’s the case, I do hope you are well prepared.”
“Oh, yeah?” You smirked. “And just how long do you plan on keeping me around?”
“For as long as you will have me.”
Tumblr media
Little did either of you know, Thor had come to the Med Bay to check on Loki after he heard the news and was listening to the conversation through the closed door. He decided to leave you be for now. The congratulations and light teasing could wait until tomorrow.

doubts and desires︱albedo x f!reader
Tumblr media
summary: letting go of the past is hard, but losing what you have now would be harder. leaving albedo is neither something you can do, or something you really want, it’s simply taken you a while to understand that. word count: 2k warnings: implied dubcon, stockholm syndrome, past kidnapping
Tumblr media
Even with how Albedo had bundled you up in a hat, scarf, gloves, and coat―it still failed to ward off the chill that seemingly sucked the warmth right from your body. Yet you said nothing about it, the unwanted attention it would draw from him inevitable if you made your discomfort known. And, you were almost certain he would drag you back to the cabin if he knew how the cold was treating you.
You didn’t enjoy the biting temperatures, but you didn’t want leave. Not when it’s been so long since you descended the mountain, that you barely even remember the feeling of snowfall against your skin.
The whole situation he’s placed you in is really quite foreign―confusing.
In how he’s letting you accompany him in his research, not far from his―your home. A safe distance, so to speak. Or that’s what he said, at least.
You realized that the way he spoke of this outing, how it’d just be the two of you, and that you wouldn’t venture very far; they were words of comfort. Not said to reassure himself that things would go smoothly, but to calm the look of trepidation in your eyes from the mere suggestion of going outside.
Now, seeing Albedo’s nonchalant demeanour while he studies the petrification of a fallen tree, it puts your mind at ease. Sure, if you look closely you’ll be able to see the way his eyes flicker to your form every few seconds or so, making sure you were right where he left you, but generally the alchemist is calm.
It makes you calm, for a moment it feels like you’re able to settle down and appreciate the intricate beauty of the snow swept mountain you stand upon. Best to do so now, knowing it wouldn’t be long until he would lead you home, sheltered safely away from the danger of the mountain’s climate.
“Oh―I didn’t know you were to be researching today, Albedo sir.”
With your back turned to the newly appeared stranger behind you, the cold that had seeped into your bones no longer posed as the only thing holding you in place―it was also now an icy fear.
You watched unmoving from your spot as Albedo gave pause, a hint of contemplation flashing across his face before standing.
“Timaeus. I thought you were studying back in the city.”
The man, who you had yet to properly address, responded with a somewhat nervous laugh.
“Yes, well I was, but it led me to do my own research out in the field…”
Always in a strangely graceful manner, Albedo dusted off his pants and straightened his jacket. A look of unashamed disinterest painted his expression as Timaeus rambled on about his findings.
Truly, you don’t recall Albedo ever showing such emotions with you―a detail not necessarily heartwarming, but still reassuring in an indescribable way.
Perhaps it was due to you being so sure that he’d rid himself of you when you no longer proved useful. Which made the swirling of affection and enamour in his eyes when he gazed upon you settle your nerves, even in just the slightest.
“...which I unfortunately have yet to procure. But―ah, I’ve gotten ahead of myself again. My apologies, how is your research coming along. And...who might you be?”
If Albedo recognized the look of severe anxiety flashing across your face, he paid no mind. Instead giving you a small, somewhat warm smile. As if to say, “Go ahead.”
The few seconds that passed were done in silence, you desperately trying to read Albedo’s face for ulterior motives, and the man behind you shuffling awkwardly in place while he waited for a response.
By some miracle, your body moved on autopilot, turning around to finally acknowledge the cause of your newfound distress. Only, you couldn’t even look him in the face.
Your mouth was dry, mind foggy and unable to think of a response that was anywhere near being coherent.
“...I―uh…”
“This is my new assistant. Please do forgive her, she’s quite shy.”
A shaky breath escaped your rigid body at the sound of Albedo’s voice, and the feeling of his hand resting gently upon the small of your back.
The blatant lie that only you and him recognized echoed inside your head.
Timaeus had no clue who you were, or what you meant to Albedo. But if he did know, you wondered what he would do.
“...Ah, it’s strange we’ve never met before.”
You could tell without looking that Timaeus was studying your form. With the way his tone shifted to something a little more unsettled, a pit grew in your stomach knowing how he had picked up on your questionable nervousness.
The hand resting on your back felt a little more heavy.
Albedo showed no signs of botherment, “That’s likely because she’s not from here.”
For some ungodly reason, the less experienced alchemist took this as an opportunity. “Oh, if that’s the case then we should show her around. Sucrose could use someone like herself to―”
“Actually, we were just leaving. I’m afraid I’ve kept her out in the cold too long, and descending the mountain any further is quite a reckless task in this weather―” His head turned to look at you, no longer addressing his student, “―right?”
If Timaeus was told of what his teacher had done to you, would he help? Even if he looks up to Albedo, even if everyone does, surely they would step in.
Only, the issue remained that first you’d have to prove to them you were in danger.
...And really, you weren’t. Not anymore.
The tender bruises around your wrists and ankles had healed long ago. Your health was in near perfect condition, what with how Albedo saw to it that you never did anything to put it at risk. A single and quick glance would show that you were so pristinely taken care of, complexion shining now that you no longer spent nights sleepless from fear.
What were you to even say?
Moreso, it remained true that you didn’t quite want to say anything.
Timaeus wouldn’t believe your truth, and Albedo would likely spin the scenario so that your words weren’t reliable anyways.
It dawned on you that Albedo knew this fact well, why else would he bring you with him if he wouldn’t still be entirely in control of the situation?
A simple movement, his hand drifted to your hip and gripped it firmly, urging.
Your voice, barely a whisper met his ears.
“...Of course…”
That was all he needed, sending an impatient, yet still neutral glance towards Timaeus, the smallest hint of self-satisfaction lingering in it.
His student took the hint.
_____
“I have to say, bringing you with me was quite...productive.”
After dinner, Albedo has you keep him company in his study. You, occupied with a book in a chair across from his desk, while he goes over his findings from the day’s outing.
“Research wise, I was able to study you in a foreign situation.” He continued, conversation one-sided, “The results were to my liking…”
Although construed in his ever sophisticated manner, his words told you that you did something right. He was proud, and that notion made the swell of a strange warmth in your heart grow.
The alchemist’s gaze remained downcasted at the papers strewn about in front of him while he spoke. “...I suppose you should be rewarded for such good behaviour.”
Your eyes flitted up, the story on your lap abandoned completely.
Albedo has never spoken of such a thing, not once entertaining the idea of rewards when he saw no reason to ever extend such gratitude. Even after all this time.
He must be especially pleased, you thought.
Perhaps, enough to grant you back even a small semblance of independence...that would most certainly be your wish.
You’d long grown used to his suffocating personality, the intense interest he paid you often resulting in little to no alone time. Albedo made sure you stayed in eyeshot, and in those inevitable times he needed to leave, he made them quick, and you were to be safely tucked away in the bedroom, door locked from the outside. There wasn’t a single detail he missed, no stone left unturned when trying to improve your security.
Unfortunately for you, it left little autonomy.
Just the smallest taste of self-reliance would be fine. You’d love to cook a nice meal, like the ones you used to make. Or perhaps to pick your own outfit one morning, something more your style than the things he put together for you. Any break from his constant guidance, no matter what shape or form, you’d gladly take―
“Why don’t you go get cleaned up then, I’ll meet you upstairs soon.”
Albedo neglected to look up as he spoke, and so he missed how the glimmer of anticipation in your eyes faded away. The way your shoulders dropped slightly, the look of disappointment flashing across your features in understanding of his words.
What he had planned, it was a reward...of sorts.
An excuse, as far as you saw it.
Albedo was known for testing the limits of living beings after all, and in certain ways, such studies extended to how he treats you. It’s a win win for him―he thinks it’s a reward, since he knows he can make you feel good, and doing so just shows him all those little things he can’t learn through idle observation. What makes you squirm or shy away with innocent embarrassment―information just as important as everything else he knows about you.
It doesn’t dissuade Albedo when he finally glances up to see what his offer has done, though the sight does make him feel as though he’s deceived you.
Still, he remains unapologetic. “While you gave me some good insight on how far you’ve...adjusted, I still can’t completely trust you. This merely turned out to be a good opportunity for satisfying your other needs―nothing more.”
Flipping open a nearby textbook, Albedo conveys wordlessly, a difficult habit of his, that the conversation has ended.
You, however, have yet to heed his words. Still seated, the once flickering of hope subsiding with each passing second. Call it grief, but you were sincerely expecting a different outcome. Though, knowing Albedo, and his constant need to grow more knowledgeable, you should’ve seen this coming.
“...I’d rather not have to force your compliance tonight. So, please―” He gestured towards the door with a wave of his hand, focus trained and brows barely knitted while he skims over his readings on the desk.
Honestly speaking, you once thought Albedo was a deeply confusing man. So too was the life he’d meticulously prepared, and swiftly forced you into. Yet, looking back, things may have been more simple than you once perceived.
Your only real job is to exist and comply. And you both know you’re not going anywhere, not going to say no. Especially now, given how effortless it feels to fall into routine, going through the motions of his request and carrying yourself upstairs.
Somewhere in the back of your mind, you realize it’s too late for you, what feels like an eternity spent at Albedo’s side having just about rendered your fighting spirit useless. It’s been long since replaced with what you’re coming to know as a certain fondness. You want to see the compassion in his eyes that’s sparked by your willing compliance.
It was a single, tangible goal. Not complex and unobtainable like those tasks of your past life. Attempts at obtaining those desires are futile, when today's events proved you genuinely no longer want them anymore.
It’s much easier to make Albedo proud. You don’t realize that you do it everyday, and that he’s just poor at conveying his own emotions...
Drawing yourself a bath, you wash away past doubts, settling with what your life has turned into.
Distantly, you hear Albedo make his way up the stairs and towards your bedroom. You like knowing what’s to come, which is always something you’ll have with him. You can’t say the same if you leave, and so you finally resolve that you never will.

(OKAY okay so I've come to provide more information on the AU, I'm still working on it a lot so things might change or be added but I got a basic idea of what things are like rn !!)
Info dump moment rn, also TW for slight trauma mentions/hints
• Sam had managed to save the Wii from melting itself all those years ago, and is a pretty big person on tech, so she likes to experiment and try new things, and actively tries to help Eteled out or transfer him through devices so he isn't just stuck in one place all the time, with lots of trial and tons of error, especially since she knows the Wii's getting old and that it can be unstable occasionally with glitches
• Kyle has also taken a liking to learning more about technology through Sam's influence so he sometimes comes over and they both will just study and brainstorm ideas
• Sam moved out of her home and now lives in her own apartment, is in college to pursue her dream of working around and creating technology, hasn't really considered making a job out of it since she mostly does it for fun and likes to achieve her dream goals, Nathan and Kyle also occasionally visit to just hang out and do whatever, usually resulting in the three staying up very late into a movie or game night, and Eteled having to talk Sam into getting sleep for the next morning
• Even though Sam is big on all tech, consoles and video games, she still has a soft spot for old generation consoles in particular
• Sam, Nathan and Kyle had all gotten pretty close growing up so they're like a dumbass trio /lh
• Will moved out of state or some shit
• Kyle wakes up from his villain arc and makes a truce with Eteled /J.. FR though Kyle softens up and becomes more understanding of Eteled's side after they start talking it out, while what happened did bother him at the time all those years ago, he just kinda grew up to the point where it didn't have such of an effect on him anymore, I mean all he saw was a Mii get slice and diced, no need to go beast mode over it, so they forgive each other of the past
• Kyle and Nathan are besties to homosexuals, homie love
• Sam made a Mii of herself from when she was younger to keep Eteled company when going out or having to attend school, Eteled appreciated it but wouldn't wanna admit how it wasn't the same and about how much he would miss Sam when she had to get off the Wii
• Gives Eteled abandonment issues because I love being evil
• He's actually clingy on the inside but would never admit it to anyone
• Also views Sam as a sort of daughter figure besides just a friend but is too nervous to mention it, he wants Sam to be safe, loves whenever she talks or rants to him about anything or shows him something she made or is proud of, or even just anything at all, father Eteled is proud of his child/bestie
• He like, genuinely feels loved around her and would definitely cry about it but would never show it, or at least try not to
• Eteled has the favorite Mii pants because Sam put them on him, with quote "I think it's about time my best friend gets to rock a new style", and yes it did make him almost cry on the spot
• Austin is like, mentally conflicted as hell
• Austin and Eteled both feel guilty for what they've done to each other over the years, aren't sure they can or are ready to forgive the other but they're very slowly learning to tolerate each other
• They're like enemies to kinda friends in a way
• They're traumatized mfs
• They still sometimes fight but it's usually just yelling or saying shit now, they don't do the chair, deletion or axe really anymore since they at least got to the point where they respect each other's boundaries and triggers, and there's no point to keep doing the same old for over 10+ years, for the most part, they still slip up sometimes
• They do fuck up though occasionally so that's why Eteled has scars and Austin is a bit more bashed up
• They still have a rooted dislike for each other they're trying to get over but they sometimes chill out or talk, usually when Sam is asleep or off the Wii for a while, the two just will maybe visit or sit around to at least try to understand the other better
• Sam knows Austin is still around, and it took a while but with time she grew to accept him when he didn't seem like a big threat anymore, and that he was just as important of a soul as Eteled was, she still didn't like the fights and didn't know the full story
• She'd probably section them away from the other with a child gate if she could
• Austin of course has an ego and would never tell another soul that he has many nightmares of the server room and about what happens if he gets caught off guard or is sleeping when Eteled decides to attack him again, Eteled wouldn't do that, and Austin knows it but it's just the deep rooted fear he can't get rid of, even though he's much taller and technically more powerful than the smaller Mii
• Eteled is just tired, usually just sleeps in the Mii channel, especially when under stress or tires himself out if he's going through a moment, like triggered memories or emotions
• From all the deleting and the chair, and more crap from his early life, Eteled is just terrified of it all so even the idea of them scares the fuck out of him, so as a natural response he just tries to defend himself with his axe even if he would be shaking like a chicken, he really tries not to pull it out but he can't always stop himself
• The axe itself would probably also bother Austin a bit, but he would still try to cautiously calm Eteled down since he knows he's just afraid, so afterwards they'd probably have to awkwardly apologize for what the fuck happened at that very moment
• Sam sometimes offers them both to play a game together with her, or plans on playing with Eteled and invites Austin along, as a way to make them bond, they do end up having some fun though
• Eteled has seen and/or been around or within newer Nintendo consoles, but personally prefers being in the Wii since he's used to it the most, and it's the most comfortable and homey to him
• Oh yeah, if Austin or Eteled is having an episode or is deeply upset then the other will try to help sometimes if it's really bad, Austin tries to hide it more but it doesn't always work, yeah they have reasonable reasons to not like the other, but they aren't complete assholes
• They both got trauma memories and aren't gonna just watch the other suffer through it
• Austin may or may not have taken in what Eteled had said all that time ago about "Learning to move past the past", even though that technically makes Eteled a hypocrite when he's constantly beating himself up about shit mentally, even after years, they are both doing it tbh
• Also Kyle doesn't know about Austin 100% but is curious to know his story and who he is and used to be, and how he got in the Wii, especially after the passing of his family member of the same name, little does he know..
• Sam also doesn't know about any of it, neither Sam or Kyle know of what happened or Austin's story, Austin being in a tight spot since he doesn't wanna reveal his identity yet, knowing the possible reaction, for Eteled's sake, Sam's and especially Kyle's, and Eteled being absolutely fucking terrified since the fear of losing someone like Sam could become real, and the small but growing friendship he was slowly making with Kyle could go right back to hatred and wanting the small Mii deleted, not including the fact that he still eats at himself for his past actions so it being brought back up again would be a ✨mess✨
• Austin doesn't know if he forgives Eteled or not, but wants to try to move past it and not be reminded in any way
• Nathan is still a little lowkey scared of Eteled ngl, doesn't wanna upset him or anything and Eteled can tell, he probably sighs to himself but he can't blame the guy
• Kyle has thought about making another Mii of himself on what is now long been Sam's Wii, now that he's older and him and Eteled are rather chill, but decided against it since he wasn't sure, not because he didn't trust Eteled, but because he figured it could potentially remind the Mii of the past, so whenever he plays on it he just uses Eteled
(That's all I can really recall on the top of my head for now, whenever I remember more or add on things I'll probably make a new post about it)

☽ Requested; Yes
☽ Idol; Jungwon
☽Word Count; 3.3k+
☽ Genre; Hanahaki (lots of mentions for it) Friends to Lovers, slight Angst
☽ Warnings; Self deprecating thoughts, mentions of hanahaki disease, slight blood, lots of cringe flower metaphors
☽ Synopsis; Date night has been a monthly tradition since before Jungwon debuted in Enhypen. This is your first day out in months with Jungwon, but somethings different about this one. Is it the fact that he's an idol now, and all of your activities happen in empty establishments that have been bought out by his management, or is it your newly returning feelings for Jungwon that threatened to choke you out, causing dark violet flowers to spew out of your mouth at every interaction with him?
☽ A/n; The zoo I am describing for this is the Honolulu Zoo because that is the last one that I've been to, so if some of the animals aren't in Seoul than I apologize for that. Hope you enjoy this and sorry for taking so long on this request I had so many ideas of how to pull off the dates
You trusted Jungwon. It came easily like breathing, only a natural side effect developed effortlessly over 5 years of friendship. Days spent laughing and telling jokes, venting to each other about worries and stresses, studying for hours the night before tests. With someone as generous, and lovable as him it was easy to trust him with your life. He has also used this to his advantage, convincing you to do questionable things with a flash of his dimples. Like now, allowing him to lead you down the streets of Seoul while blindfolded. Completely at his mercy.
"Are we close? My feet are starting to hurt. We've been walking for hours." You whined as Jungwon pulled you around another corner. You've lost your sense of direction 4 turns ago, and he seemed to keep on going. "Why couldn't your manager just drive us the whole way? You had to have him stop super far from wherever you're taking me?" Jungwon just let out a laugh and gently squeezed your wrist. . His hand surrounding your wrist was comforting and grounding, a reminder that you were safe with him.
"We're almost there I promise. And if I would've done that it wouldn't have been a surprise now would it." You humphed knowing that Jungwon was stubborn when it came to things like this.
"You always do this. It's not fair, your ideas are always so much fancier than mine." Jungwon let out another laugh, and you didn't have to see him to know his expression. Eyes probably scrunched up, his dimples greeting the world as he laughed at my pain.
"It's not my fault that I love you so much. Plus I always want to do something special with you." Confusion flooded your mind while your heart skipped multiple beats at his words.
In the same sense of truth, feelings were natural too. Flowering in your chest with every sweet action he did, never wanting a reward for it just doing them because that's the kind of person he is. Packing extra food in his lunch box knowing your tendency to forget your own. Cupping your cheeks while he wiped away your tears, listening to you rant about your sorrows or broken hearts. Pulling you close to his chest afterwards, massaging the back of your head knowing how bad your headaches get after crying. Arms wrapped securely around you as he whispered calming words into your ear, a sense of security and comfort blanketing you while listening to his heart beat. Every gentle, caring and loving action made the flowers grow.
When Jungwon told you about his plan to audition for Be-Lift one part of you was selfish. You wanted him to stay, turn down the biggest opportunity of his lifetime, continue being only your Jungwon. That part was tiny however; and you squashed down those bitter feelings. You were absolutely ecstatic for him, having been the one to even push him towards the auditions. Stayed up hours at night to watch him practice, seeing his confidence grow tremendously the weeks leading to that fateful day.
When he got accepted you both celebrated the great news. His parents held a dinner in his honor, and his family sat around the table, congratulating him and his accomplishment. At first you were happy for him, overflowing with joy that your best friend had passed the biggest audition of his life. But as the day got closer you had to hide your heart break, smiling despite the tears you shed at night. Knowing that he was going to leave you soon.
The night before he left for I-Land was the hardest one, cuddling into his side while you laid in his bed. The last time in a while you would be in his room like this, only the two of you and the quiet of the night. You didn't sleep the whole night, only savoring the feeling of Jungwon holding you tightly, the last night of him being yours. Your best friend. Your first love.
Your Jungwon.
For the first time in 5 years you were apart for longer than a couple weeks. During this time the flowers started to wilt. You were grateful, ecstatic. Of course you missed Jungwon terribly, tuning in every Friday to support him. Eyes watering every time you watched him perform , pride prevailing over any negative emotions you could have as he confidently took the stage. When it was revealed he had made the debut team you had wailed, preening at your best friend's accomplishment knowing that his hard work paid off.
When Jungwon came home to visit your feelings were gone. You didn't feel the twisting in your chest when you hugged him, tucking your face into the crook of his neck as you both cried. Pulling away to look him in the face your heart didn't flutter at his smile, you only relished in the feeling that your best friend was back.
You thought your feelings had wilted into piles of dust and blown away. Not having seen him for months of course that'd be normal. You had thought your feelings were gone for good when you started to see him more frequently and they still hadn't returned.
You were wrong.
"Are you okay bugs?" Snapping out of your daze you realized that Jungwon was standing directly in front of you, one hand cupping your face and concern in his eyes. You nodded your head, cursing yourself for being getting so distracted.
"I'm fine bunny." His eyes scanned your face once before he leaned back, letting his hand linger.
"You know I just worry about you sometimes." Dropping his hand to his side he turned dramatically, switching the topic and gesturing at the box office in front of us. His manager was there waiting for us, underneath the gigantic sign for the zoo. "But I knew that you missed the zoo since we haven't gone in a long time. So I actually convinced management to rent it out for us for 2 hours."
Practically leaping into his arms you wrapped your arms around his neck, a huge smile spreading across your face. "Thank you thank you thank you!" Pulling away you saw his facial expression mimicking yours, dimples proudly on display and bunny teeth prominent.
"Come on, let's go." You giggled as you grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the gate. After getting your wrist bands - just for the experience - you downloaded the digital map and headed into the zoo ecstatic for your day with Jungwon.
♤♠︎♤
"Come on bugs, just look at the snake." You shook your head vehemently, trying to yank your hand free. His fingers only tightened around you wrist as he attempted to convince you to look at the giant snake in the glass enclosure merely 3 feet away from where you stood.
"Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Jungwon." You whined out his name, refusing his outrageous request.
Snakes were definitely a no for you. Especially a boa constrictor that can grow up to 13 ft long. The one they held in the exhibit was only 5 ft, but it could always become bigger. What would even need to get that big? Any animal that needs to be 5+ ft is a menace to society, and only here for evil. You'd already catered to Jungwon enough in this godforsaken reptile and amphibian section. The frogs were cute, absolutely adorable with their big glassy eyes, hanging on to the glass. Lizards weren't a big deal either, some of them over 3 ft long, lazing about their enclosure, enjoying the surprisingly warm Seoul day.
"Isn't this supposed to be a special day for me? Why would you make me see a stupid snake? They don't even have arms, that's so weird and creepy." Jungwon let out a laugh before pulling you over to him, a squeal leaving your lips as your back met his chest, and his arms wrapped around you. At the slightest display of affection you stopped fighting him, feeling the vines squeezing around your heart painfully, before he started to walk forward and you remembered where you were. Fighting for your life.
You tried to plant your feet in the ground to prevent Jungwon from forcing you to see the snake, but he only lifted your feet from the ground as you cursed the stupid Be:Lift gyms. His manager stared in amusement from the corner, his phone out to record the two of you and undoubtably show it to the rest of the members.
Another loud squeal left your mouth as Jungwon brought you right in front of the glass enclosure, the snake was sitting in the corner but slowly started moving towards the two of you, as if you had fascinated it. You turned your head, placing it in the crook of Jungwon's neck as you squeezed your eyes tight. Ignoring the fear that coursed through your body knowing that the snake was only separated by a thin layer of plexiglass.
"Bugs just look." You only shook your head, "I promise the snake won't hurt you as long as I'm here okay? You know I'll always protect you." Jungwon's soft voice cut through the fear, and you sighed knowing that you were falling into another one of his traps. You turned your head while taking a deep breath before opening your eyes, being met with the face of the snake.
With Jungwon's constant flow of reassurance in your ear you took a good look at the snake. The snake was against the glass, falling back down before slithering up again. Its eyes were wide open and almost looked like doe eyes, black and glassy as it stared at you. The scales were a pretty pastel yellow, mixed with white, resembling a banana cow. You were so distracted admiring the snake that you both jumped when his manager suggested you should get along, and walk further into the park. You felt your heart clench painfully as Jungwon stepped away from you, a blush running up his neck and spreading over his cheeks as he quickly walked to the next exhibit not bothering to wait for you.
♤♠︎♤
"I think this is the best friend date we've ever had." Jungwon spoke happily as you two walked out of the zoo gift shop, a red fox panda stuffed animal tucked safely in your arms. His treat since he refused to let you pull out your wallet and purchase it for yourself. You chose to ignore the flutter of your heart and rush of heat at the thought of this being a true date, your mind decidedly ignoring the word 'friend'. Your cheeks ached as you smiled. They've started to hurt after the amount of time spent joking and laughing while visiting the animals.
"It was. I really appreciated it. I've missed you, it's been so long since we've been able to hang out like this." Jungwon nodded in agreement, an uncharacteristically shy smile spreading across your face.
"Come on. The nights still not over, I have one more surprise for you." Jungwon tossed his arm over your shoulder as he led you to the car, excitement and surprise as you thought about what he could potentially still have planned.
Being ever the gentleman he opened the door for you, waiting until you were safely inside to close it and join you. His manager turned on the radio as he drove you two to the next destination.
"Don't tell me we're going to have to walk again? My feet are still dying from the zoo." Jungwon let out a laugh as he grabbed your hand, rubbing his thumb over the back of it as he intertwined your fingers.
"We won't have to walk too much I promise. Just sit back and relax, it shouldn't take too long to get there." You nodded your head before quickly looking out of the window, no longer able to ignore it.
The vines grew in your chest, clenching painfully around your heart, writhing and squeezing like a boa constrictor trying to capture its prey, crawling up your throat making you resist the urge to gag. Lungs filling with petals that swirled and fluttered around with every breath until there were too many, leaving no room to move around, just clumping together as breathes became sickly. Until you could no longer resist the urge to cough.
The sound of you hacking and gagging, the sight of a worried Jungwon when the first petal comes out. Dark violet petals fluttering out with every spasm of your lungs, some full flowers with stems still attacked, coated with a thin layer of maroon liquid, staining the pretty petals and tinging your pink sweater with spots of red, the bitter taste of the flowers mixing with copper. Your throat sore as the taste of bile rose alongside the rest of the petals, finally emptying your lungs. Filling the car until there was no room to hide from it, hide from your feelings. Hide from the predicament that you were in, feelings for you best friend, the rookie idol.
How could you be so stupid to believe that you could hide it? You were always so easily exposed to Jungwon. He knew you better than you knew yourself. What if he already knew and was just biding his time before he left you, the thought of your feelings disgusting him, being too much for him? He could surely find another best friend, one who wouldn't fall for him.
But could that ever happen? Someone not falling for him. It's easy to fall for his eyes, chocolate eyes that always saw right through you. That knew when you weren't feeling good and were trying to hide it. Dark unruly hair, never easily tamed but was so silky when you ran your fingers through it. Despite being called bunny he practically purred whenever you did it, causing your face to burn at the feelings that always resurfaced. Caring nature that assured he'd become the leader of his group, always wanting to care for everyone around him and make sure that they were happy.
You don't think it'd ever be possible for someone to not fall for him.
"Are you okay bugs?" You blinked realizing that the car door was open, Jungwon standing in front of you with the same concerned look that made you feel ashamed, and yet warmed.
Glancing around you realized you had imagined the coughing fit, drowning in the sea of your own emotions and being buried under a mountain of petals. It was all in your imagination, hanahaki didn't exist. How could it? If it existed you would surely be dead.
Shaking your head you waved off the question, unbuckling your seatbelt and quickly hoping out of the van.
"Of course. I'm perfectly fine, just feeling a little tired I guess. Must've gotten lost in my thoughts. Anyway, where are we?" Jungwon raised a brow at your rambling, knowing you only did it when you were nervous before choosing to ignore it and grabbing your hand again. You hoped he couldn't feel how sweaty your palms were, nerves taking over you at the realization your feelings and thoughts had run away from you again.
"Well I wanted to do something really special for you," You shook your head before cutting Jungwon off.
"The zoo was perfect Jungwon, you don't have to do anything else. Today was perfect already." Jungwon shushed you as he led you into the building, his manager staying behind. Leading you to the elevators he pressed a button before getting on, waiting for the doors to close behind the both of you before he continued to speak.
"You've supported me throughout this whole journey. Pushing me to audition when I was too nervous, and didn't think that I would make it. When I got accepted into I-Land you supported me even when I was leaving you in the middle of the school year, texted me every night to let me know that you were watching and were always rooting for me. Knowing how proud I was making you when the thought of me debuting wasn't official helped me work harder, and continue to push myself," He got cut off as the elevator dinged, signaling that you were at your floor. Jungwon pulled you off the elevator towards a set of stairs that led to a door labeled roof. Jungwon turned towards you, his face deathly serious causing you to get a lot nervous at the sudden sober move.
"Before we go out there I just wanted to tell you that I am grateful that you are in my life. I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without you, constantly supporting me throughout everything. You are what has pushed me this far bugs, and I love you. You're my best friend and I owe you so much for constantly being there." You smiled, ignoring the pain in your chest. Of course he'd only think of you as his best friend, there's no way he'd see you as anything else.
"Of course Jungwon. You can't put it all on me, you worked hard to get to where you are. I'm proud of you because you constantly push yourself, not because you've been successful. You'll always be my Jungwon even if you wouldn't debuted with Enhypen, and I would've always been proud of you." Red dusted over Jungwon's cheeks as he smiled shyly, before opening the roof door and pushing you in front of him.
You were left speechless at the sight in front of you. Blankets laid out over the ground, picnic baskets placed in the middle to prevent the wind from blowing them away. Pastel pink flowers spread out being blown lightly by the wind but not leaving the roof. Fairy lights spread out emitting a soft golden glow barely recognizable under the setting sun. Clouds flitting over the pink, and orange sky. Adding on to the beautiful aesthetic of the set up.
What truly had your attention was the rest of his members standing around the blankets, signs being held out at arm's length. Their various expressions showed excitement, minus Niki who tried to look emotionally detached from the situation but was bouncing on his toes, practically jumping.
From tomorrow,
I'll protect you
All Day and Night
Now Lean on Me
Will you go out with me Bugs?
Hot tears pricked at your eyes, a thick lump in your throat growing. All of their expressions morphed into worry, Niki had even stopped bouncing on his toes, Heeseung glanced at Jungwon slight panic evident in his face. A loud sob left your mouth as you turned around and threw yourself onto Jungwon, tossing your arms around his neck. A nervous laugh left his mouth as he slid his around your waist, holding you almost protectively.
Jungwon pulled away from you, bringing his hands to cup your cheeks, attempting to wipe the river of tears away.
"These are happy tears right?" A weak smile spread across your lips, nodding slowly at him. Seeing his smile come back full force, dimples showing happily. Vines loosening around your heart for the first time in months, falling away as they disintegrated. Petals evaporating leaving behind only fresh air in your lungs, breathes flowing freely as you stared at Jungwon. Boba eyes staring back at you, only showing love. His thumbs stopped wiping as he leaned forward barely, glancing at your lips briefly.
"Can I kiss you?" You eagerly hummed, a soft yes being your answer.
Jungwon leaned forward, leaving space for you to back out if you were too overwhelmed. You met his lips, inciting cheers and groans from the members present, seeing their leader kissing his best friend. Your lips moved in sync, one more thing you guys did perfect together. You must admit, the taste of salt from your cheers, along with the dramatic cheers from his members did not make for the best first kiss experience. Especially for a first kiss that you had fantasized and imagined about for years.
Knowing that was only the first of many however, made it all the sweeter.

It had been the longest week you’d had in a while. It wasn’t a bad week, per se, it was just busy. Between things at work and everything going on with your family, you felt like you were basically running on fumes by the time Friday evening rolled around. A huge part of you wanted to just head home, curl up with some tea and your favorite show while lying underneath a fluffy blanket. But for some reason, when you left work for the day, you found yourself going in the complete opposite direction.
In the midst of the chaos that had filled your week, you really hadn’t had any time for yourself, let alone time for the people that you actually wanted to see. That being the case, you found yourself rolling into the parking lot of the clubhouse. It was busy—Friday’s always were. It didn’t seem like things had gotten out of control though. You took a deep breath as you stepped down out of your car and made your way towards the clubhouse.
You walked inside and were pleased to see that it wasn’t overly crowded. The air was filled with music and the sound of a few dozen different conversations going on, but it wasn’t the wild scene that you had walked in on in the past. It felt like everyone was doing the same thing that you were trying to do—recover.
Before you even made it to the bar, the man behind it had a beer ready for you. You chuckled as you took it from him, thanking him with a smile. You pressed the bottle to your lips, drinking a good amount of it in one go without even really meaning to.
“Long week?” Juice’s voice piped up from behind you, and you could tell without even looking at him that he was trying to hold back a laugh.
You turned around to face him, a tired smile taking over your features, “How’d you know?”
He shrugged, “Lucky guess,” he came up so that he was standing at the bar next to you, “Also I haven’t seen or heard from you all week. And you’re drinking that beer like your life depends on it.”
You laughed, “What else can you tell me about my life, Juice?”
He pulled you into a hug, “That I’m gonna be in it for a while.”
You chuckled as you let him envelop you for a moment. He was always a flirt, especially with you. You gave it right back but you tried to be careful about letting yourself get too carried away. However, in moments like that, it was nice to just soak it up even if you couldn’t be sure that there were really feelings there on his end of it.
The two of you stood by the bar for a few minutes, allowing yourselves to have some time for just the two of you. He listened as you caught him up on everything that had been going on with you throughout the week, wordlessly getting you another beer after you finished off your first one. It was difficult not to get lost in the way that he looked at you, like he was hanging on every word that you were saying to him. You always wondered how Juice hadn’t landed himself a partner yet—he was always so sweet and attentive it made you wonder how no one had scooped him up.
“Wanna come and sit?” he offered as he nodded towards the couches where some of the guys were sitting.
You nodded, grabbing your beer off the surface of the counter, “Please, yes.”
Juice sat down on the end of the couch, leaning onto the arm of it. You found your place right next to him, casually draping your legs over his as you leaned against his side. You didn’t make any comment about it, and neither did he, but you could tell by the look on his face that he wanted to say something. He didn’t, though, instead settling into the contact and resting his hand on your knee. You purposely ignored the looks from the other guys as you jumped into the conversations that they were having.
As the night wore on, you somehow wound up completely curled up in Juice’s lap. He didn’t seem to mind, his arms draping easily and comfortably around you. Your head rested in the crook of his neck as you listened to the hustle of the clubhouse. It’d been a few minutes since you stopped paying attention to the conversations happening right in front of you. You were too focused on the steady rise and fall of Juice’s chest beneath you, and the feeling of his hand as he would randomly run up and down your back.
“Doesn’t look like you’ll be moving for a while,” Jax said with a laugh.
Juice looked down to see you completely passed out against him, being held up solely by his arm bracing you against him. He chuckled and shook his head, “Yea, guess not.”
“You still haven’t said anything to her yet, have you?”
Juice tried to pretend that he had no idea what Jax was talking about, “Said anything?”
He shook his head, “Come on, bro. I think it’s safe to say that she feels the same way.”
Juice paused, glancing down at you curled up against him as you slept through the noise of the clubhouse, “It’s simpler this way.”
“Don’t be an idiot,” Jax stood up and clapped him on the shoulder, “Do something about this.”
Juice didn’t get the chance to reply and try to argue with him—he walked away too quickly. Which left Juice there on his own with you in his lap. He smiled at you, giving you a light squeeze to hold you a little bit closer while he had the opportunity. He studied your face for a few moments—it was the most relaxed that he’d ever seen you.
In your sleep, you reached and rested your hand on his shoulder, pulling yourself tight against him the same way you would someone you were laying with. He let out a shaky breath as he allowed himself to enjoy the contact. You shifted slightly, your nose brushing lightly against the sensitive skin of his neck as you grumbled quietly in your sleep. If he wasn’t in love with you before he was fairly certain that he was now. He’d sit there all day and all night if it meant that he got to keep holding you.
“Dorm might be more comfortable,” Chibs commented in passing with a chuckle as he walked by.
Juice let out a soft sigh, knowing that he should just stand up and carry you back to his dorm so you could sleep the right of the night. He just didn’t want to wake you. He carefully wrapped his arms around you before standing up, trying to move you as little as possible. He walked through the clubhouse, managing to not bump into anything or anyone.
He nudged the door to his dorm open with his foot and walked inside, kicking it shut behind him to try and muffle the noise coming from the rest of the clubhouse. He somehow managed to hold onto you as he pulled the blanket of his bed down before gently setting you down on the mattress.
Before he could pull the blanket back up over you, he saw you stirring and beginning to wake up. He tried and failed to bite back a smile as he looked at you—your exhaustion and sense of slight confusion was written all over your face.
“You fell asleep,” his voice was quiet but you could still hear him chuckle as he spoke, “Figured it might be better for you to stay here—didn’t want you driving if you were that tired.”
You nodded, still not fully awake, “Okay,” you saw him walking back towards the door and spoke up, “You staying with me?”
He froze, taking a moment to get his thoughts in order before he turned around and faced you, “Do…do you want me to?”
You nodded, “Yea.”
His smile was soft, “Okay. Yea. I’ll…I’ll stay with you.”
You smiled and nodded as you pulled your shoes off, dropping them on the floor next to the bed. He walked back over toeing off his boots before stripping down to just a t-shirt and his underwear. If you hadn’t been so exhausted you might’ve taken more time to gaze at him, but it was difficult to keep your eyes open.
He laid down next to you, pulling the blanket up over the both of you. He wasn’t planning on trying to push his luck—he wasn’t going to close the distance between you for fear of making you uncomfortable. He left the empty space of the mattress, but he couldn’t take his eyes off of you.
You reached out, resting your hand on his shoulder as you pulled yourself closer to him. Your hand slid down his arm until it reached his wrist, wrapping your fingers around it before moving it so you could set his hand on your side. You could feel how tense he was and the only thing you could think to do in that moment was wrap your arms around him and pull yourself flush against him. A deep, content sigh passed through your lips as you all but melted into the heat coming off of him.
It took a few moments, but he finally allowed himself to hold you. He let out an unsteady breath as your hands slid underneath the fabric of his t-shirt, resting innocently on his back. He brought one hand up so that it was resting on the side of your neck, his thumb lightly tracing along your jaw.
You turned your face slightly, pressing a sleepy kiss against the palm of his hand, “Goodnight.”
Your eyes were shut, and he was glad that you weren’t able to see the look of disbelief on his face, unsure of how to respond to such a soft gesture. He cleared his throat, pressing a soft, nervous kiss to your forehead, “Goodnight.”
He heard the happy hum you let out in return as you snuggled farther into him, entangling your legs with his. It was a matter of minutes before you’d fallen completely asleep again, leaving him there to soak up and enjoy the sensation of having you so close.

Being a Malfoy and dating Fred Weasley would include:
Warnings: mention of death
Wordcount: 2.1k
Requested by anon
--------------------------------------
To start it all off you were Draco’s older sister by two years, so you are in the same years as them
Your parents love you even tho only your mom really shows it
You and Draco are also really close, you have been since you were kids and you two never really got around to play with other kids
Still it is only natural for siblings to say they hate each other and fight but you make up eventually
Growing up you already showed a strong talent in magic and your parents knew you would do great things someday, so it got even more exciting when you started your first year in Hogwarts
The Sorting Hat took quite long to decide where to put you, you would have fitted into Ravenclaw just as much as into Slytherin but in the end you decided on Slytherin (out of family reasons or being scared of your parents wasn’t quite sure)
While the sorting ceremony happened you just couldn’t take your eyes of the two wet, ginger haired boys talking and grinning at each other
You soon found out they were Fred and George Weasley and that they liked to wreak havoc but it just made them that more interesting
Over the next two years you grew a major crush on one of them and you could have smacked yourself for it
You were a Malfoy and Fred was a Weasley, or as your family and the other Slytherins liked to call them, a blood traitor
So you kept your mouth shut about it and admired him from afar
And then your little shit of a brother came to Hogwarts and figured it out in less than a week
“Really (Y/N), a Weasley?”
“Oh shut the fuck up you little ferret.”
It stayed between the two of you for the time being but he kept on bringing it up and annoying you with it
Time passed and the feelings only continued to grow even tho you rarely spoke a word to him
It took until your fifth year that the two of you became friends and that only because you covered for them
You were in the library studying for your upcoming transfiguration test when the two red haired boys burst in and took a table not far from you. You looked over and looked them over. They were both breathing heavily but smiling while getting their stuff as fast as possible out of their bags and onto the table. Fred glanced around and stopped when he spotted you. He gave you a wink and put his finger over his mouth in a ‘shhh’ motion before turning to his brother once again. You felt your face grew hot but you tried to ignore it and rolled your eyes, getting back to work.
Not five minutes later the silence got disturbed again when Professor McGonagall came in looking rather angry. She immediately made her way over to the twins and gave them a look which screamed ‘you better not try anything’.
“Mister and Mister Weasley, what were the two of you thinking?” , the professor's usual strict voice was upped and you got a chill down your spine. You never wanted to be on the receiving end of that.
“Professor McGonagall, we don’t know what you are talking about. We were here all afternoon.” , Fred answered first. “Yeah, we have been studying for the test tomorrow.” George followed up trying to make it sound more convincing.
“Oh really? Can someone confirm that?” Professor McGonagall crossed her arms and starred the boys down.
They looked at each other trying to figure something out but you broke the silence before them.
“I can vouch for them, Professor. I came here after Potions to study and they were already here studying as well.” Your voice was as calm as ever and you gave her a small smile when she turned to look at you. Fred and George gave you both shocked expressions behind the professors back but you didn’t acknowledge them and just continued looking at her.
McGonagall looked at you closely before letting you all off the hook and leave. Even if she knew you were lying she couldn’t prove it and as soon as she was gone you let out a sigh of relief. That was horrible, you thought.
Well not so horrible after all because after that little ordeal you and the twins became friends and after some bribing you even started to help them with their pranks
If your feelings grew while only looking at him they now skyrocketed through the roof and sometimes you felt like you could throw up
You grew closer to him over the next year and that is when the yule ball came along
You didn’t get your hopes up on him asking you, the year before he had shown interest in Angelina Johnson so for you that was his obvious choice but to the surprise of most he asked you and you immediately said yes, even tho a bit shocked
That was the point where Draco told your parents about you and the Weasley and hell broke loose
Your father was totally against it and even threatened to take you out of Hogwarts and send you somewhere else, thankfully Narcissa could stop him from doing so
She didn’t have to say anything for you to know that she was against the building thing between you and Fred but she kept her mouth shut
For a while before the ball you thought to cancel it but you decided against it
You wanted it for so long that you wouldn’t let your family ruin it
After the ball you and Fred grew even closer but the relationship to your parents and Draco got pretty strained, especially when Draco started to talk down on you
It took a while until you and Fred would start to date but what was clear is that he had some kind of feelings for you as well
When the summer came after Voldemort returned everything turned to hell for you and it didn’t took much for you to leave
Seeing as how your parents and brother treated you and how the dark lord himself was in your home
You were scared for your life so running away was the only options, but you still tried to make Draco come with you, trying to show him how much danger he will and already is but he didn’t listen
Thanks to a little help from Fred and George you found a new home rather quickly
Some of the Weasleys were a bit weary but Molly greeted you with open arms and soon made you her second daughter
She heard so much from the twins and especially Fred about you that she could see why he wanted you to stay with him
As this was the time they moved into the Order of the Phoenix headquarters for the summer, so did you and through that you met your estranged uncle Sirius who you immediately bonded with
Since you were a kid you were much more upon to muggles and others that your parents told you, you should hate and that are less than the purebloods that you and your family are that you started to hate those ideas
It was one of the things that made you bond with him besides being a runaway and the treatment you got from your parents after doing something that displeased them
Over the summer a lot happened and being in so close proximity with Fred everyday gave you two the final kick to start date
Seeing as you all lived together in only such a given amount of space everybody knew within a few days, and they were fine with it
But as we know as soon as Sirius bonds with any given child they become his, so a little talk happened, but otherwise everything was great
To sum up the next hell year of school, Umbridge is the biggest bitch you have ever met and you wished she would burn like the pile of shit she is
Also at some point your aunt and nine other Death Eaters were broken out of Azkaban and it made you fear even more for Draco because you knew where those individuals would be staying
But putting all the bad things aside you helped Fred and George with the creation of new joke articles and finding people to test it on, you joined the DA and gained some more practical knowledge on how to defend yourself against foes and the dark arts
Of course you also spend some alone time with your boyfriend in unused classrooms or his dorm and on the weekends in Hogsmeade, be it on the usual way or one of the passages
Most things were going good and after Fred kept on asking you about leaving with him before the school year ends and opening the shop with him and George you said yes
Screw it, you already finished all your N.E.W.T.S and what is a few weeks left going to do to your grades?
So you guys made the show of the years with fireworks and a kick to Umbridge in the ass with one particular one, and with that off you were
The next two years went by in a flash with the work that came from opening the shop and keeping it running, the time you spend with Fred building up your future together and all the other stuff that life throws your way
It was a bliss but you also kept thinking about your family
You had lost Sirius, which you started to get to know and grow closer to, you had lost your parents and brother in some way too because none of them would talk to you and you feared what could happen to Draco
But that was all put to the side when things got more dangerous after the Death Eaters attacked Bill and Fleaur’s wedding and attacks in general happened more and more
Throughout the year muggles, half-bloods and even purebloods who were seen as blood traitors got killed and you knew that they would come after you as well, sooner or later
You got through the year with a few close calls and a lot of cautions until you got a message from the Order saying that there will be a battle in Hogwarts and they needed all the help they could get
During the battle you never left Fred’s side, even if you wanted to look for Draco and make sure that he was okay, Fred was now part of your family and you would do anything to protect the ones you loved
It turned out that staying with Fred would save his life in the end and after saving him from the collapsing ceiling he asked you to marry him
“Fred! I don’t think this is the right time to ask me that!”
“I just almost died! I think it’s the right time to do so!”
“Fine! It’s a yes!”
You battled your way through what turned out to be the first wave of attacks when you finally got a break
You gathered up with the Weasleys and Hermione and exchanged hugs when you spotted Draco and sprinted towards him
Without thinking he came towards you and hugged you back as you enveloped him in your arms
There was no way you would let go of him and tears started to roll down your face
“You're okay, you are okay… I was so scared something happened to you. I missed you so much.”
“...I missed you too.”
You made him come over to the Weasley family with you and he did so without saying a word
The rest of the day and the second half of the battle went by fast, when your mother called for Draco to come over you saw him think for a second but in the end he remained by your said and held your hand which made you look at him with a proud smile and to the surprise of everyone Narcissa came to your side and hugged both you and Draco
She fought by your side for the rest of it and after it was over she hugged you for the first time in years before she and Draco left
In the next few years you would rekindle your relationship with your mother and brother, you would marry Fred and eventually get two beautiful twin girls named Winifred and Roxanna.
