2022 was an incredible year for me.
I already put a whole thread for this on twitter if you'd like to look it over click here but I'm just going to sum it up here and say. I didn't realize until I sat here and looked back at everything how many amazing things I did this past year.
Tumblr media
^ that screenshot there is just 1 out of 7 tweets in the thread, and I know for sure I missed a ton of stuff that I did throughout the year. Sometimes you get so swept up in what you're doing that you forget to acknowledge how amazing the life you're living truly is. I believe there were very few times during all of this that I truly stopped and just acknowledged those moments in their present time for how truly incredible they were. The moral is, I'm going to do what I can to spend more of 2023 enjoying the present rather than just cramming all of my time with things to do so that I'll look back on fondly later (although I'm still going to do a million things lets be real, that's just how I operate). Cheers! May 2023 be our best year yet! 🥂🍾🥳

Thinking about Kenji with a [Reader] who’s an Esports Athlete…
[(A/N)]: Inspired by @ghostlyvikingwolf
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let’s see…I’m thinking how Kenji got with someone who has the opposite career compare to his Baseball career…
Oh! Kenji would receive a call from his manager as they explained he has to do an advertisement collaboration with a famous Esports player.
He didn’t think much of the ideal as it’s part of his daily routine being a celebrity for the Giants.
Then comes the shooting day as Kenji waits for the other to show up.
Unfortunately, he made an offhand comment about Esports. Unaware that the popular gamer arrived at the worst time.
Kenji: Who even calls Esports an actual sport?
???: Excuse you?
Then comes the other person who he’s supposed to shoot with, [Y/N] [L/N]. Also known as [Any cool name you can think of].
[Y/N] could be playing in LOL, Valorant or any familiar game set in a professional environment.
Kenji: “Crap. They’re cute.”
[Y/N]: That subject is debatable, but from where I’m standing, it is a sport. It’s my career.
After they finished shooting their collaboration, [Y/N] hands him a pass if he decides to watch them for the upcoming championship. Their intention was to show off that Esports can still be a sport as it’s competitive in nature and takes a lot of strategy to win.
Later, somehow rumors started circulating around the media that both Kenji and [Y/N] are secret lovers?!
Their agencies tried to clear up the gossip, but fans were still insisting they’re a secret couple.
So…They forced both Kenji and [Y/N] to pretend dating and hopefully they “break things off” in the future preventing any more misunderstandings.
Can the two pretend they’re in love or actually love each other?
I basically described the Rivals/Enemies-to-Lovers for this fic idea.

Scuderia Ferrari changes name after big partnership
The traditional Italian team founded in 1929 is moving towards a new stage in its history, because a partnership has just been signed with the American technology company that will be applied from the Miami Grand Prix.
The contract covers not only the Formula 1 team, but also the ESports team, F1 Academy and the entire Ferrari driver academy.
HP CEO Enrique Lores commented: "Both brands are built on rich stories that have stood the test of time. With this unique collaboration, we also have the opportunity to reach new audiences, boost business growth and create a lasting impact on our customers and common communities"
Besides the application of the logo on the car, we will also have a special kit in the Miami race to confirm the partnership between the brands, also with a blue suit and a blue livery during the weekend in the United States. Scuderia Ferrari, as it was previously called, is now called "Scuderia Ferrari HP".

"How familiar are you with protein detection in relation to tumour cells?" Marner squints at him. "I know that tumours are bad. And probably related to cancer? Which is also bad." "Okay," sighs Auston.
Mitch is a serious academic, okay? It’s not his fault that game developers are the ones most interested in his work. Yes, he hosts Fortnite tournaments for the esports club. It’s because he’s cool and hip with the kids. But his antics have given him a certain reputation among the faculty, and it’s hurting his chances for a better position at the University of Toronto - and worse, ruining his funding applications to the serious investors. His field of study is meaningful, even if most people can’t see how. He just needs the right project to prove it.
It’s Willy who suggests that he talk to Dr. Auston Matthews, the molecular biology professor who shares a line with him and Johnny on their intramural hockey team. Matthews, apparently, is doing the exact sort of work for which his machine learning systems might be useful. But the two of them have never talked, outside of arguing over possession and ref calls. Hell, he isn’t even sure if Matthews knows what he does. For all their chemistry on the ice, he might just hate Mitch’s guts.
Auston is surprised to see his intramural linemate in an egregiously corny gamer t-shirt show up to the door of his lab. He’s even more surprised when the guy introduces himself as Dr. Marner and offers a proposition - to collaborate with him on a project, using his AI experience and Auston’s work on cellular biomarkers to create a diagnostics app, one that can make detection of cancer easier for those who with difficulties in accessing care.
The kindest way to describe Dr. Mitch Marner would probably be “unorthodox.” His department head, as rumoured, calls him “infuriating, but too good to let go.” No one can deny that his work in machine learning has brought a renewed interest in Toronto’s tech sector, as Canada’s own AI talent up there with some of best in the world. It’s not as if Auston is hurting for funding - but a project featuring the interdisciplinary shtick that the university currently loves, with a name like Marner’s, might be the last piece to finally put him on that coveted tenure track.
So Auston accepts. How badly could this go, anyway?

Minji x Reader: Game on
Tumblr media
Permanent Taglist: @cwpiqwon @justme-idle
2016
"Oh my god, Y/N, get to the lane now, you're throwing my ranked game" She teased as you rolled your eyes "I'm coming, I'm coming, watch me carry your 2-4-1 ass." You shot back, earning a swift smack to the neck "You got lucky, but thanks for the save bro." She said, a smug smile on your face as you finished the team wipe. "Some would argue I deserve a kiss for that." You proposed, leaning in close as she smirked, leaving a light kiss on your cheek. "Of course my love."
Current day
Sweat dripped from your brow, your thumbs twitching. This was make or break time
From the side, you could faintly hear the commentators.
"Can Ursa do it? This is the final push made by CK, and with Ursa's Miya at half health and K's Alice with both her Winter Truncheon and Petrify on cooldown, it's going to be a tough fight against a full team of 5. And OH! It's in! Alice has popped her ultimate, initiating the team fight. She gets controlled by Franco but what's this? Ursa activated her inspire and OH CK IS COLLAPSING, TRIPLE KILL, MANI-, OH SAVAGE, URSA HAS DONE IT!" The commentator screamed as you breathed a sigh of relief, your mage was down but you had managed to get the enemy team, securing the win as you ran to finish the base. "And just like that, ZG has won the 2022 MLBB tournament! MVP of course goes to the captain of ZG, Ursa! Using a relatively off-meta character like Miya all season, enemies have grown to regret underestimating Ursa, now let's go over to the podium to have a chat with the MVP!"
At the podium, you were all smiles as the interviewer asked the routine questions. "So, Y/N. How do you feel about the win?" "The team is ecstatic. We've worked our whole season to this, and to see our efforts be rewarded is great." "There has been rumors of you retiring soon, not uncommon for someone of your age in the esports industry, comment?" "No comment." "There's been talks about you collaborating with MLBB for an ad? Care to comment on that?" "Yes, and I'm really excited about it. That's all I can really say for now, ML please don't fire me." You jokingly pleaded to the camera, as the reporters chuckled at your reaction "Before I let you go, anyone thing you would like to say?" "I just wanted to thank everyone who has supported me through my entire career, including a very special person who has been with me all this while." You said to the camera, smiling as the reporters clambered, excited for new gossip.
Meanwhile, at the dorm of NewJeans
"Where are th-, Minji Unnie!" Hyein shouted out, frantically pushing around the kitchen cabinets, pulling her leader out of her thoughts. "Where are the cup noodles" Hyein shouted, as Minji scurried over, opening the packet for her. "Still watching that competition?" Hyein commented as Minji held her phone away defensively, before turning away and looking at her screen longingly. "Stop teasing her Hyein-ah, you know she loves that game. She even got us into it. Haerin loves that furry too." Hanni commented as Haerin pounced on Hanni "Her name is Joy!" She grumbled, as Hanni rolled her eyes. "Just remember to help me the next time I get ganked in the middle lane, Pharsa is so squishy." Hanni complained, Danielle chuckling. "Oh, Minji Unnie, Management told me to inform you, you have a brand advertisement soon!" Danielle told Minji, as she looked over, slightly confused. "Yeh, Moonton heard that you enjoyed the game so they want you to represent them for an advertisement." 'Wait, An ad for Mobile Legends?' "Did they say who I'd be doing it with?" "Yeh, that Esports pro you like so much, Y/N."
"So, Y/N, there will be two advertisements. One will be an interview with you, what got you into Mobile Legends or gaming in general. Then, the second will be a short skit, with a story centred around the game. I know you aren't exactly an actor but I doubt you'd struggle too much. Is that alright?" Your liaison texted, as you sent back a quick back an acknowledgment, resting on your couch.
"Oh, hey babe, congrats on the win today." Karina(ps, not an idol) said somewhat absentmindedly, fiddling with her prada bag. "Thanks, I got you a gift." You whispered, reaching into your bag and grabbing a small box, Karina's head immediately bolting up, a smile across her face, as she grabbed the small box from you. What was it? Jewelry? A necklace? A new watch? Her smile slowly faded though, as the box opened to reveal cards. Titled, 52 reasons I love you. Seeing her smile disappear, your eyebrows furrowed, did she not like it? "What's wrong?" You asked, as Karina quickly tried to brush it off. "I'm just tired, I'll get some rest now alright?" Karina said, tossing the card onto the table as she scurried to the room, your eyes stuck on the card that took you hours. You sighed, guess she just had a long day huh? It's been years of long days. Sighing, you went to wash up, laying in bed seeing your teammates party together on Instagram
You were lost in the maze of the production studios, taking a crew member to basically pull you by the hand to the interview sight. After a quick visit to the makeup studio, you found yourself situated in a high chair, next to an interviewer. "So Y/N. Tell me about how you got into Mobile Legends and the realm of E-sports." "It began in high school..."
2016
"Get off that game! We have midterms next week!" You shouted, rolling your eyes as your girlfriend mockingly shook her head, the both of you chuckling as you ran to her, tugging her by the hand "Who are you playing anyways?" You peeked over her shoulder, her right shoulder pushing you away as she tried to finish the game "Her name's Miya, she's pretty fun to play" She offhandedly said, the base exploding on the screen as you saw her queue for a next game. "Aish Min, let's make a deal. We study for this midterms for the next week, then I play with you after the exams alright?" You proposed, as her eyes twinkled, nodding before pecking you on the cheek, setting her phone aside.
"She taught me to play Miya, and after that, she kinda stopped due to busying schedules, so I've played Miya since." "Miya huh? Is that why you play her predominantly?" The interviewer asked, as you nodded "So is this mystery woman the same person you referenced previously? She seems like she means a ton to you." The interviewer question, as a sense of nostalgia washed over you. "No, sadly she and I drifted apart due to differing careers that took different paths. I'm glad to see that she's been doing well though! I see her on TV all the time now." You explained, the interviewers eyebrow perking up. "Oh, so she's a celebrity!" You smiled a little, shrugging as you continued the interview. Close to the site, a nervous Minji sat at her makeup table, close enough to hear the interview going on, happy that you still remembered her, but still unsure on how the encounter to come was going to go.
Stretching as you got off the interview chair, you went back to your bags. A crew member handed you a script, as you slowly read through it. "Who's Lead 2?" You asked the crew member, who looked at you curiously. "Oh, you didn't know? I supposed I could introduce you to her." She pointed behind you, as you slowly turned, seeing a lady, shrinking into herself, fingers fidgeting "Minji?"
"So, how've you been?" You asked, trying to break the awkward air between you and the NewJeans starlet. "Good, been busy with comebacks, and this should be my last schedule until I go for a break with the rest of the girls." Minji said, her eyes trailing away from you as she didn't want to catch that gaze she missed all this time. 'Get it together Minji.' "So I heard you're a fan. Who's your bias?" Minji asked, as you shot back a cheeky smile "Oh it has to be Haerin." You said, as Minji rolled her eyes, grumbling, then chuckling at your cheeky smile "Why is that?" Minji asked, a silent rage building up. "She's likes to mess with you, that's enough for me." You teased, as Minji whined. The awkward air about the two of you disappeared, Minji chasing you as you two ran around the room, Minji smiling throughout the chase, this scene not an uncommon one when the two of you were high school sweethearts
"Well, it's good to see the two of you being so well acquainted. Could I explain the advert?" The director asked, as the two of you stopped your chase, nodding. "So, we were thinking of shaking up the way we make our advertisements, and we wanted to make a new cinematic with the two of you, showcasing the story of Cecillion and Carmilla."
As the director went through the briefing, Minji felt both excitement and dread. She knew you were with someone else, and this felt wrong, but recreating a romantic story with the person who still owned her heart was almost everything she could ask for. "There's been some issues with the props so we're going to need to rework, so we'll just be rehearsing some of the basic scenes, is that okay?" The director asked, as the two of you nodded
"How is this more tiring than dance classes?" Minji panted as she collapsed into her chair, gulping down her water as you chuckled, tossing her a towel for her to dry her sweat "Oh, Y/N, are you free tonight? You want to grab dinner and catch up?" "Rain check? I've got to get to Karina. See you soon okay?" Minji nodded, hiding her disappointment as you rushed off. 'Karina' Minji thought to herself bitterly
"Minji, you're back! What's wrong?" Hanni exclaimed as she saw her leader trudge back into the house, eyes slightly puffy. "Y/N has someone else..." Minji whispered, Hanni's face morphing into a look of pity, and understanding, quickly ushering the teary eyed girl into the house. Minji crashed onto the sofa, how could things have gone so wrong?
"I won a 1 v 3 and comments still called ME a liability. Can you believe that! Minji? Min?" You stopped your ramble, turning to your girlfriend, seeing her blanking in the air. She quickly jolted up, turning to you with an apologetic smile "Sorry, I'm just kinda tired. What did you say?" She pinched herself, shaking herself awake as you were wracked with guilt. You knew what your girlfriend was putting herself through to be here. She was spending hours training to be an Idol, working herself to the bone, but here she was, sneaking away from her dorm in the middle of the night to steal fleeting moments with you. That was all she needed to keep going, but that wasn't what you wanted for her. You didn't want her to exhaust herself all to placate you. You knew this wasn't easy for her. Her deep eyebags that she attempted to hide with concealer, her bruises from hours of training that she assured you weren't serious, her near brushes at getting caught escaping. "Minji, could we talk?" You lightly held her hand, as she straightened her posture, slightly afraid at the change of tone. "I hope you know that I love you. But I don't think we can work anymore." You confessed, Minji's face dropping "What are you talking about?" Minji muttered, shook in disbelief. "We can't work, Minji. You're training for hours on end to be a trainee, and I'm training to be an E-sports player. You spend hours training, then still rush to be with me. I...I just don't think I'm worth all this effort. Your career and well-being is more important than me. Besides, once you become an idol, what of us? The media finds out and tears us down. Or the company gets to us first. We don't work, Min." Minji knew there was truth in your words. She loved you, and she loved her little stolen moments with you. But this was getting too much for her. She was pushing her body to the absolute brink, and she could feel it giving up on her. The two of you had always heard that Love required sacrifice, and that they had to fight to stay together. But what was the point of fighting to stay together, only to have to fight again? The battle grew repetitive. She knew she should have said no. She loved you too much to let you go. But this was for the best, she thought. The best for whom? For either of you? For any of you? She didn't know. But she did what she thought was right "Are we breaking up?" Minji whispered between her tears "I don't want to hold you back." You said through a small forced smile "Can you just hold me now?" Minji muttered back, you nodded profusely as you ran to her, holding her in your embrace as she sobbed into your chest. Calming her down, the two of you looked at each other, Minji and you sharing one last loving look, before leaving your house
"Hey Rina, I'm H-" You could barely speak out before she pushed you to the wall, putting her lips onto yours as you shared a deep kiss "Rina, I need to tell you something." You quickly said, in the brief moment of reprieve Karina smelled of alcohol, reeked of it. In her intoxicated stake, she held you as she tried to make out with you "I'm retiring from E-sports. Just to live a more basic life for awhile." With that, Karina bolted up, seemingly out of her drunken stupor. "Are you serious? Where's the money in a basic life." She mocked, inverted commas and an exaggerated facial expression telling you all you needed to know about her thoughts. "I just want to settle down with you, Rina. What's wrong with that?" Karina walked to you, grabbed your cheeks and pulling them hard. "Aish, Y/N you stupid little baby, did you really think I'm with you for your personality. Fuck off with that childish sentiment. What am I going to stay with you for if you're just gonna be some broke little shit." Karina spouted venom, words stabbing you and hurting you to the core. Speechless, you backed away, running out of the house, you had to get away. Far away.
"Y/N, Y/N! Are you okay?" Minji lightly nudged as you sat dazed at the set, her forehead creasing as she saw your face devoid of life, hair disheveled. "Yeh, don't worry about it Min." You tried to force a smile, running your hand through you hair as you tried to look more composed. "Here, got this for you." Minji set a cup down next to you, before moving to the makeup set. Milk tea, with evaporated milk. For the first time since the night before, an albeit small, but genuine smile formed on your face. It's been years, but she still remembered.
"You look stupid." Minji quipped, smiling as she saw you fidgeting in the clunky suit Cecillion wore "Hey, I save your life in the future Miss Carmilla, don't be mean." You chuckled, as Minji rolled her eyes "Whatever bro." Despite your lack of sleep and still being angry at Karina, you couldn't help but laugh and revert back to the person you were all those years ago, the one Minji would mess with, the one who would mess with Minji, the one laughing at Minji as she saw the suit she had to wear for her role as Carmilla. You couldn't help but miss the person you were with Minji "Do you wanna rehearse?" Minji asked, script in hand as the two of you sat, nodding in response "We can't be together, Carmilla. I'm different...your father doesn't approve of me. We don't work." You delivered the line, trying to ignore the anguish on Minji's face as the familiar line brought up feelings of regret and pain "No, I must be with you Cecillion. Our love is too great to let anyone separate us!" Minji quickly composed herself, anxiously fixing a strand of her hair "My love, I would only burden you. Don't you see that?" "My dearest Cecillion, you're worth it, you're worth it all ." Minji said, a pang in her heart. She should have told you this all those years ago. She loved being an idol, but it all rang hollow in the face of the loneliness and isolation she faced outside of her bandmates. She wanted, no, yearned for someone to care for her the way you did. Someone to hold her the way you did. She yearned for someone to love her the way you did. She yearned for you.
Sitting at your high chair after taking off your Cecillion costume, you watched on as Minji took promotional pictures of her in the Carmilla costume, her aura captivating as you couldn't keep your eyes off her, her eye smile melting you. You'd truly missed Minji. You cracked a small smile as you reminisced upon your shared moments together. Studying together, gaming together, being together, growing together. Despite being with Karina, even before events of the previous night, you never felt really happy. You tried your hardest to make things work with Karina. But it was different. Karina didn't care for you the way Minji did. Karina didn't appreciate the little gestures you would do the way Minji did. Karina wouldn't notice the small things like Minji did. Karina didn't love you the way Minji did.
Minji stood outside your changing room, nervously pacing as she pondered if she should ask you out to dinner again. She wanted you back, but you were already in another relationship. She didn't want to be a home-wrecker, especially if you were happy That concern was quickly quashed however, as screams could be heard from your changing room. Concerned, Minji slowly peeked in, seeing a blonde girl wreaking havoc in your changing room "You're leaving me? After all I've done for you!" The blonde girl shouted, Minji looking on as you stood with your hands cross, massaging your temples in annoyance. "If all you want is a piggy bank to squeeze, then it's not going to be me Karina. I can't spend my life with someone who only sees me for my money." You spoke, trying to keep your composure "Oh, so you just want that Minji girl, huh? You never forgot her huh? Get the fuck out of here, off your fucking high horse." Karina shot back, pushing you by the shoulder as you struggled to keep calm 'Me? Have I never left your mind?' "I've never claimed to be the perfect significant other Karina. I tried my best to forget about her, love you with all my heart, but it took meeting her again for me to realise that I never stopped loving Minji, but I've tried my best to make you the happiest person in the world, tried to love you with my every being, but you don't love anything without a dollar sign next to it. You disregarded my handmade gifts, only ever excited if you saw 5 numbers and above. I sacrificed my relationship with my teammates, my friends, to spend more time with you, but you didn't care. You never cared. I won't have it any further Karina." By now, your knuckles grew white, trying to contain an implosion, while the girl outside the room stood stunned, but also relieved. At this moment, you loosened your knuckles, realising the door was slightly ajar, noticing the shellshocked girl outside the door Following your gaze, Karina saw Minji, gaze steeling in recognition as she stared at Minji, anger evident.  Karina stormed at Minji, hand raised in an aggressive position as Minji stumbled back, trying to avoid the confrontation. "It's all because of you!" Karina shouted, swinging her hand down at Minji, but you caught her by the wrist. "That's enough, Karina. Leave before I call security on you. You can stay at my apartment for the next few days till you can find somewhere else to stay, once you can, please leave." Your grip on her wrist remained firm, as Karina wrestled her hand out of yours, muttering curses as she stormed off the set, crew members staring at the cause of the commotion. You grabbed Minji by the hand, but unlike the way you had gripped Karina when stopping her hand, your hold on her was gentle. Leading Minji to your room, you let her sit, grabbing her a cup of water "Sorry about that Min." You muttered, embarrassed at what had transpired with Karina. Minji was still in shock, only nodding as she sipped her water. Noticing her slight tremble, you got your jacket, draping it over her shoulder, then taking a seat next to her. "How much did you hear?" You nervously asked, struggling to let it out of your mouth. "Enough." She whispered back, as you nodded, settling back uncomfortably in your seat. "Did you mean it?" Minji asked, turning her head as she braced for the worst. "About loving you? Every word." You said with resolution, Minji looking back at you with shock. The two of you sat in silence for a short while, an awkward and tense air between the two of you as the both of you digested what had transpired. "For what it's worth, I never stopped either." Minji whispered, her hand reaching out and grabbing your hand, holding it close to her as you let out a gentle smile. Scooting towards her, you leaned on her shoulder, feeling her hand around your shoulder. "Wanna grab dinner?" She whispered "1v1, loser pay." You quipped, whipping your phone out as you stuck your tongue out.
"For old time sakes huh? Well, don't forget who taught you how to play the game L/N. It's time for the Master to humble the apprentice." She theatrically spoke as she raised her finger at you in challenge. "You're not in the suit anymore, speak normal people words Bro." You teased, as Minji came down from her comical bender, sheepishly scratching her head as she bumped you. Queueing into the game, you noticed both of you never changed your IGN, keeping the cringey couple name you guys had made way back. Looking at her, she smiled, leaning over to peck you on the cheek, before leaning down, the gamer posture breaking out "Game on my love"

esports au where by day astarion is a humble office worker toiling away for szarr enterprises. his department head is the grandson of the ceo, and just the worst. the guy takes power harassment to new levels, and does it all while being the most boring, soulless, by-the-book paper-pusher imaginable.
by night, astarion is a streamer and high-ranked competitive gamer. none of his coworkers know about his nighttime career. and then, one night, during a stream where he's collaborating with a group of other streamers for a WoW raid, he hears a familiar voice calling him names in the chat
it can't be. it isn't possible. he's rattled throughout the entire stream, and when it ends he goes back and checks the checks the webcam footage for the streamer whose voice he thought he recognized, and it is. it's fucking cazador szarr, his piece of shit boss, wearing cat ears and a collar, playing the tank that kept mocking astarion for not dodging AoE attacks fast enough

02. Welcome to Tokki
cw// mention of murder
Your last week at home flew by fast as you anticipated your new life ahead of you. Still you stayed awake some nights questioning if it was just a huge scam because surely no one can become a professional esports player this easily right?
Dozing off on the plane, your body was overflowing with emotion, sad because you were leaving your parents and home for the first time, happy because you were able to live your dream of becoming an esports player, but then nervous and scared because what if it was all fake and then you get to the condo and they murder you.
But it was totally real though…right? You shook your head of all the thoughts and just tried focusing on the fact that you were going to be landing in 2 hours, leaving you more excited than when you boarded the plane.
-
It took you 4 exhausting hours to find your luggage when you got off the plane, you were left mentally drained, starved and thirsty as you frantically searched for Haseul, who said she would pick you up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
‘Minji?!?’ you thought to yourself as you slowly lost your mind in the busy airport. ‘Out of all people?!?’ let’s be honest you were only freaking out about your first encounter with the members being Minji because she was freaking hot.
While you were trying to extinguish the flames in your brain, you heard a deep voice from behind you, making you jump higher than when you play Roblox horror games.
“Holy crap!” you gasped while clutching your chest. Minji just stared at you with an amused smile as you made eye contact with the brunette Korean girl. As dramatic as you were, your life was feeling like a cliche kdrama as you felt the sunlight rays hit only the two of you as you stared at her. That poor girl.
“ahem, um well we should get going before it gets too dark, I don’t like driving at night.” Minji mumbled as she took hold of your suitcase leaving you with just the carry on bag.
The drive to the condo was silent and awkward as you tried to contain yourself from staring at the woman who just wanted to get home and probably escape from you. Minji was the first one to break the silence, “was the flight comfortable?” she asked, as she switched to driving with one hand while the other rested on the gear shift.
“yeah surprisingly it was relaxing” you smiled earning a smile back.
“thats good, its a long flight so im glad it was comfortable for you.” Minji made more conversation that helped break the ice between the two of you before you.
Arriving at the condo, she helped you bring everything in. Your jaw was on the floor as you saw how huge the place was. “Let me give you a quick tour” she winked. ‘Did she just wink or am I delusion?’ you thought.
You followed the leader as she trailed around the place, “this is the gaming room where we will all spend majority of our time practicing and streaming. We have to stream 80 hours a month and if you don’t make it by the end end of the month, then Haseul will deduct your paycheck.” Minji scratched her neck.
“has it happened to you before?” you asked with a hint of fear.
“no but it has happened to Hanni and she was asking Yeojin unnie for food money nearly everyday because she didn’t have enough.” Minji laughed. You could just image the short Vietnamese girl trailing around her unnie asking for food money.
“That’s scary” you shivered.
“Just stream, you’ll be fine” Minji said trying to ease your concerns. “The next two rooms are Haerin and Hyein’s room, they are our little Tokki trainee’s. They are actually like our little siblings, but they will stay here sometimes so these are their bedrooms.” Minji pointed to the cute decorated doors.
Halfway through the tour you realized that no one was home, “Where is everyone?”
“oh, they had a photoshoot for a brand collaboration, I did my part this morning so I have the house to myself, well semi” she laughed. Finally she brought you to your room after showing the bathrooms and other bedrooms, and it was decorated nicely with all of the items you told Haseul you enjoyed.
“oh my gosh, this is amazing!” your eyes were about to fall out of your head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Minji stood behind you smiling at your reaction before clearing her throat, “well I’ll let you settle in and unpack, the girls should be back in a few minutes. We can do introductions later tonight” She smiled at you. Now you knew why her fan base when stupid crazy over her smile and called her ‘oppa.’ It was truly addicting.
“okay” you replied.
As she was about to leave she opened the door again, “oh and welcome to Tokki, I hope you enjoy it here” she smiled again this tome showing her pretty white pearls. Causing you to get butterflies. Getting butterflies within three hours of being with her, well done.
Tumblr media
Summary: You were scouted to be on a pro esports team when you started to find yourself falling for the leader, Minji as well as Hanni. Leaving you in difficult situations that eventually effect your performances. As Minji starts being harder on you, you can’t help but lean on Hanni for support, but deep down you wonder if any of them feel the same way you feel for them.

Blizzard's New President Is Johanna Faries, A Former Call Of Duty Franchise Manager
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/blizzards-new-president-is-johanna-faries-a-former-call-of-duty-franchise-manager/
Blizzard's New President Is Johanna Faries, A Former Call Of Duty Franchise Manager
Tumblr media
Blizzard Entertainment has selected Johanna Faries as its new president following Mike Ybarra’s departure from the studio last week alongside news that Microsoft was laying off 1,900 employees across its Xbox, Activision Blizzard, and ZeniMax teams. Faries worked for the National Football League for 12 years before working at Activision starting in 2018, as reported by Bloomberg. She started as the head of Call of Duty esports before eventually working as a Call of Duty franchise manager at the company Microsoft acquired last year for $69 billion.
Tumblr media
In Faries’ introductory email to Blizzard employees today, she addressed the layoffs that occurred at the company last week.
“Though my first official day with you all is February 5, I want to let you know immediately that it is an honor to join you next week in this new capacity,” she writes in the email. “I do so humbly and in awe of all that Blizzard has stood for and delivered to the world for over thirty years. Today also brings some mixed emotions. The loss of talented teammates in recent days is hard to hold side-by-side with the immense excitement I feel about joining Blizzard – and building on the momentum you’ve created for Blizzard’s next chapter.”
Tumblr media
MIT Sloan
Elsewhere in the email, Faries discusses her history working on Call of Duty and the differences between that franchise and the franchises under Blizzard’s umbrella. “Activision, Blizzard, and King are decidedly different companies with distinct games, cultures, and communities,” she writes. “It is important to note that Call of Duty’s way of waking up in the morning to deliver for players can often differ from the stunning games in Blizzard’s realm: each with different gameplay experiences, communities that surround them, and requisite models of success.” Faries says she’s discussed these differences with the Blizzard leadership team and is stepping into this role “with sensitivity to those dynamics, and deep respect for Blizzard.”
Faries will be arriving to Blizzard’s Irvine, California-based headquarters next week to informally (and optionally) meet with employees there. In her email, she says she’s a big Diablo IV fan and throughout life, “the joy I find in games – and working with those who make them – only deepens.”
“I remain inspired by Blizzard’s iconic legacy, and the transformative role gaming has played in my life and in the lives of others,” she writes. “I cannot wait to get going – to listen, to learn, to empower, and to collaborate with all of you on our bold and bright future together. Together, may we forge many legendary days ahead.”
You can read Faries’ full email here.
Faries steps into the role of Blizzard’s president following news last week that Mike Ybarra, who had worked at the company since 2019, was leaving. Before Blizzard, Ybarra worked at Microsoft for more than 19 years.
How do you feel about the future of Blizzard following last week’s layoffs and its new president? Let us know in the comments below!

Yao Luniang was a potential chinese synth developed by Shanghai Wangcheng Information Technology Co. Ltd. in collaboration with NetEase Comics. no new information about her production has been released since 2017 so shes assumed cancelled. her vp and illustrator have not been revealed. luniang is (was ?) NetEase Comics' mascot from 2015, as such she featured in 2 manhua, "Lùniáng Days" and "Suísuíbiànbiàn de Yāolùshān Rìcháng". she likes anime, furry things, and esports. in 2018 netease sold their comic branch to bilibili, so luniang disappeared. she would likely have been a private vocaloid if she was ever released, though this wasnt confirmed. luniang originally had purple hair which changed to red in late 2015, along with changes in her outfit. in 2016 she again changed appearance, most notably her skirt went from red to black. luniang is forever 15 and 163cm tall.
Laru Mine is a japanese synth released in 2010. hes voiced by minato/ winder. i assume laru was mainly drawn by minato as well (??), but i couldnt find that written anywhere. laru is 21yo and 203cm tall. he has no official personality. he is a dragon shark hybrid.
Gahata Meiji is a japanese synth released in 2012. shes created and voiced by Saccu, and illustrated by Souno Kazuki. meiji was also the mascot of the Lifulu shop/ Riffle Shuffle, as such, when saccu cut ties with the shop meiji was discontinued (11 nov 2019). this was POSSIBLY due to the shop maybe misusing meiji or violating her tos. meiji is 16yo and 170cm tall.

An article about Taina Malen, from Marketing at Star Stable Entertainment!
https://animationxpress.com/latest-news/star-stables-taina-malen-journey-building-a-gaming-community-for-girls/
(I sure hope this shows up in the tags)
Since it’s an article, not a video this time around, I’ll paste it here for folks to read easier, under the read more because it’s a rather long article, but highlights include:
Taina Malen, chief business developer officer and chief marketing officer, has been at SSE for 9(+) years
Not specifically stated, but I’m guessing she’s the reason JA and every single other real life musician was brought in to SSO, since JA showed up in 2014, 9 years ago.
“they plan to expand on” their book publishing. hah. hahah. hahahahahah. Guess this was when they were trying to keep things quiet.
They “explored” licensing with toy companies, but now the focus is on Android to expand their market soooo that toy deal we heard about is gone?
It is very much Girl centric, Girl Power, Girl Gamer, for Female Audiences, the Female Market, stuff.
Seems the average SSO player sticks around for 4 years, which is a lot longer than average games keep players around. Many players are still sticking around after 10 years. Yay longevity
They talk about Ride With Us. It’s... a lot of fancy nonsense.
SSE is currently working with Ferly and Cake Entertainment on an animation, so I guess Mistfall hasn’t died? But looking for financing and distribution (dear god Star Stable Streaming I can see it now)
SSE is working on a Live Action pitch. God I hope it’s just more of those silly live action commercials they did a super long time ago but I fear it’s not.
Give the actual article a read below, or with the link above!
The gaming industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years. While men have traditionally dominated the gaming industry, female pioneers have broken boundaries and paved the way for future generations of female gamers and leaders. One such leader is Taina Malen, the chief business development officer and chief marketing officer of Star Stable Entertainment. Malen’s contributions to the gaming industry serve as an inspiration to aspiring female gamers and leaders, highlighting the importance of diversity and inclusivity in the industry.
Talking to AnimationXpress, Malen, who has over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry having previously held positions in CANAL+, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros, opens up about her journey and the industry.
“Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing companies,” said Malen, who comes from a background in music, film, TV and pay TV. “I, along with some former colleagues, started an esports initiative called Esportal before joining Star Stable.” Esportal is still operational today. Interestingly, one of its owners was also a shareholder in Star Stable.
When Malen joined Star Stable, it was still a small team of 14 people. Her role was to set up marketing disciplines, customer service and brand extensions such as music, publishing and animation. “Over the past nine years, the company has expanded to over 200 employees,” she said. “Throughout this journey, the mission was to build a platform for girls in tech and gaming, and this has remained a constant. The vision that ‘every girl is a hero’ has guided everything the company does, including the development of the game Star Stable Online.”
The company’s core product is its game, but it is into book publishing as well. It has 15 titles in 14 languages at present, which it plans to expand on. The team sees this as a great way to expand its brand by promoting its characters outside of the game. They also create their own music, with some of their characters being artists in the game. They have collaborated with female singer-songwriters and artists to bring their game characters to life. Malen’s interest in music began early on when as a youth, she went on tour with Europe, the legendary Swedish rock-band, which taught her about the industry and broadened her network. She has studied journalism and is passionate about communication and writing. She believes that entertainment is all about “emotion and connecting with people,” and loves working with creative individuals.
Along with that, the company has explored licensing opportunities with Just Play as their master toy, and collaborated with H&M in the Nordics to connect with brands that focus on female audiences. This year, they plan to expand onto new platforms such as Android as they continue to seek out ways to get their product into the market.
“The primary target of our game is girls, and we pride ourselves on being the world’s leading horse game,” she shared. “While horses are a crucial aspect of the game, it’s not just about collecting and riding them. Our game is full of magic, mystery and even evil forces that players can work to overcome and make Jorvik Island a better place.”
There is a lot of text in the game, so it’s essential for players to be able to read. Their core players are typically between the age group of 8-18 with 14 being the average age . “As young girls aspire to be like older girls, our player base spans a wide range of ages, making it challenging to target a specific age group. Our players tend to stay with us for around four years and more, with some of our oldest players staying for 10, which is quite a long time in the gaming industry. Overall, our game offers an exciting experience with weekly updates that keep our players engaged for an extended period.”
When the company began 11 years ago, the concept of a “girl gamer” was non-existent. They aimed to create a brand that focused on producing quality entertainment for girls who did not associate themselves with traditional video games that involved first-person shooting. Despite the industry’s slow start, it has become more receptive to female gamers in recent years. Although there is more entertainment available now that appeals to any gender, there is still room for improvement when it comes to creating content specifically for girls.
“There are a lot of men making the games and products. Women developers are quite scarce,” Malen said. “However, at the company where I work, we have more than 50 per cent women across the board, including younger generations. In general, I feel that the gaming industry has been male-oriented since the beginning and it still is. Based on my experience in the entertainment industry, I would argue that this is changing in the country where I am, but I’m not certain if this trend applies to the rest of the world.”
Malen shared that their new marketing initiative called ‘Ride With Us’ acts as a brand platform for the business. The platform’s purpose is to give customers a way to connect with the business regardless of their interests, age, or stage of life. The first campaign under this encourages everyone to take part in the community of the brand, highlighting the fact that despite differences in appearance and behaviour, there is still something that unites individuals.
[youtube link to Ride With Us video]
To inspire more women to join the gaming community, she added, “The most important thing is to stay true to yourself and believe in what you want to do. If you have faith in yourself and trust your instincts, I think you can accomplish anything. I believe that as long as I stay true to my values, whether they are personal or professional, and trust my intuition, I can overcome any obstacle. If more women stand their ground and get the chance to be heard, the world will be a better place.”
Star Stable is currently working with Cake Entertainment and Ferly on their long form animation, the script for which is ready. They are looking for the final piece of financing and distribution before launching the production. Additionally, they have finalised a live action concept that they will soon start to pitch to companies around the world. Aimed at a young adult audience, they plan to produce this project with someone, yet to be seen.

Olimpic Esports should be open source-ish
The rules of every game/discipline at the olympics are open for the public to know. An esports most comprehensive rule set is its source code.
However, how would the companies promoting the sport make money? Fuck em. They're still a brand, they can provide private playing spaces. However, there's no one charging for every tennis game being played, so no single company should be able to profit from an olympic sport and people should be allowed to try to make a living by supporting the esport.
Also, they should be proud of providing a foundation for the acceptance of our digital interactions as an extension of nature and humanity, not some fake fantasy land that isn't there because it wasn't there since a shit ton of years ago.
If the focus comes, I'll probably write about the how. But the why is the foundation (as every software should). Competitive sports are deemed good because they provide an environment for a person to practice and learn collaboration, tenacity, concentration, communication, respect to others and oneself, physical coordination, self improvement, fun, satisfaction from hard work, amongst probably a lot of other things.
Olympic sports all provide these things.
Because of these good things, it would be inmoral to try to hide the rules of olympic sports behind a paywall. So esports shouldn't do so.
Gotta clean the laundry "room". Hopefully I'll continue elaborating this some other day.
