You were facing the wall.
Arms tucked close to your chest, your back turned toward the door, and a blanket pulled up to your chin even though it wasn’t cold. Your eyes were wide open. You weren’t even trying to sleep. The light from the hallway bled under the crack in the door, and every time it shifted, your breath caught, half-hoping, half-dreading that it was him.
He’d left without another word. You’d told him to sleep on the couch, and he didn’t argue. Just looked at you for a moment, his lips pressed into that hard line he always got when he was trying not to say something he’d regret. And then he walked out.
That was almost an hour ago.
You blinked slowly, eyes stinging. You hated fighting with him. Hated the way it left your chest tight and your mind buzzing. You hated the silence afterward even more. And this time… you weren’t even sure who was more in the wrong.
The fight started with something stupid. It usually did. You’d asked him why he hadn’t texted back when you messaged him earlier in the day—just a casual check-in, nothing serious. He said he’d been busy. You said you understood, but something about your tone made it obvious you didn’t. And then he said, “It’s not always about you,” and you froze.
It wasn’t just the words. It was the way he said them, like you’d been a burden instead of someone he missed. Like he didn’t have space for you in his head that day, and you were wrong for noticing it.
You’d snapped and told him if he didn’t want to talk to you, he could’ve just said that. Told him you weren’t going to beg him for attention. He looked at you like he wanted to speak but didn’t, and you’d finally said it.... go sleep on the couch, Simon, because you didn’t know what else to say that wouldn’t hurt more.
And he left.
Now you were here, pretending the pillow was more comfortable than his chest, replaying the words in your head until they lost all their meaning. You hadn’t even told him goodnight. And he hadn’t told you he loved you, not like he always did before bed.
Your throat tightened. You blinked at the wall again, trying to will yourself not to cry, not now when you’d already said your piece, already told him to leave. You didn’t want to be the one to break first. But still, your chest ached in that way that only came when something between you felt wrong.
A floorboard creaked somewhere outside the bedroom. Then silence came, a pause just long enough to make you question if you’d even heard anything at all.
And then—
The door creaked open slowly.
You stayed still. You didn’t want to move. Didn’t want to seem too eager, didn’t want him to think you’d just forget everything because he came back. But your heart betrayed you, picking up speed the moment you heard his quiet footsteps on the carpet. Then the bed dipped behind you, before his arm wrapped around your waist, fast like he was afraid you’d push him away if he didn’t do it quick.
You didn’t.
“I know you’re awake,” he said quietly, his breath brushing against the back of your neck.
You didn’t answer. You couldn’t.
“I thought about what you said.” His voice was low and soft. “And I thought about what I said. And I didn’t come back to fight. I just... I needed you to hear this.”
He paused, exhaling slowly.
“I fucked up,” he admitted. “I was tired and distracted, and I shouldn’t have taken it out on you. You didn’t do anything wrong. You were just lookin’ for me and I made you feel like you were too much.”
Your eyes burned. Still, you didn’t speak.
“I never want you to feel that way,” he murmured. “Not ever. Not when you text me, not when you talk to me, not when you just exist near me. You’re not a burden. You’re… you’re the best part of my day, and I treated you like you weren’t. I’m sorry, love.”
You felt his hand squeeze your side gently, like he was grounding himself just as much as he was trying to comfort you.
“I meant what I said before I left,” he added, “but I meant it wrong. It’s not always about you, but it should be. You’re my person. I should’ve answered you. I should’ve checked in. You have every right to need me.”
You blinked hard, finally managing to whisper, “I wasn’t trying to fight.”
“I know,” he said, his voice cracking a little. “I know, love. You were just tryin’ to connect. And I shut down on you. I let shit get in my head and I pushed you out. I won’t do that again.”
You turned slowly, finally facing him. His eyes met yours in the dim light, and god, he looked wrecked.
“I just missed you,” you whispered. “That’s all.”
He reached up and cupped your face gently. “I missed you too. More than I can say. And I don’t want to end a single fuckin’ day with you wonderin’ if I care. I do. So much.”
You leaned in, tucking your face against his neck. His arms wrapped around you fully now, pulling you in close, holding you tight like he’d fall apart if he didn’t, before his lips pressed against your hair.
“I’m not goin’ back to the couch,” he said softly. “Even if you ask again. I’ll sleep on the floor next to you before I ever leave you like that again.”
That made you laugh, just a little.
“Sorry I got mean,” you mumbled.
He smiled into your hair. “You weren’t mean. You were hurt. And I made you feel that way. I deserved it.”
You looked up at him, eyes searching his face. “You’re really good at this. Talking about it. Most guys just shut down.”
“I used to,” he admitted. “Didn’t fix a damn thing. I’d rather talk and hold you than be right.”
You snorted. “You were wrong though.”
He grinned. “I know. Fully aware of it.”
You finally let your body relax fully against him, tension leaving piece by piece as he kissed your forehead and whispered, “Still love you, even when we fight. Especially then.”
“I love you too,” you murmured.
And you meant it. Even when it was hard. Even when things got messy. Because he came back. Because he chose to come back and say the things that mattered. Not everyone did.
But Simon did. And that was enough.

Just The Two Of Us.

summary: a night of dancing and too much alcohol dredges up old (?) feelings and unresolved tension between you and lando, blurring the line between history and heat as a single moment threatens to unravel everything you’ve both been trying not to want
content: 18+!! smut, nsfw, alcohol / intoxication, mutual (?) pining, soft angst, sexual tension, drunken vulnerability, thigh riding, drunk confessions, soft horny chaos
word count: 5,5k
pairing: lando norris x fem!reader
walls are way too thin - series - a´s masterlist
might be confusing if read as standalone
It’s been weeks.
Weeks since that night at the bar. Since you walked away with Charles and Lando just… let you. Since whatever that moment was between you all evaporated into the haze of alcohol, music, and unspoken choices.
Lando never brought it up.
Not once.
He never asked what happened with Charles, never made a comment, never let anything slip—except for the way he looked at you a little differently for a few days after. Like he was trying to piece something together and never quite figured out how to ask the question. Or maybe he just didn’t want the answer.
But after that? Things fell back into place.
Sort of.
The banter returned, light and easy. Familiar. You still teased each other over your tragic snack choices and made sarcastic comments about each other’s Spotify queues. There were late-night kitchen run-ins, the occasional movie half-watched together, and the same dumb inside jokes passed between you like muscle memory.
But everything now had Charlotte’s name quietly folded into it.
Her toothbrush was in the bathroom sometimes. Her perfume lingered in the hallway when she left. There were missed calls on his phone from her. Her laughter on speaker when he’d answer mid-conversation with you. She was never intrusive, never rude, always warm and friendly when you crossed paths but she was there.
And so you drifted again.
Still close, but no longer the center of each other’s gravity.
But one Thursday night, he brought it up casually, like it was nothing.
Lando leaned against the counter, half a slice of toast in one hand, his phone glowing on the table beside him.
“Oh—hey,” he said, glancing over. “Remember the DJ I wanted to take you to see?”
You looked up from your laptop, distracted. “The one from the night I violently started vomiting?”
That’s what you said out loud.
What you thought was: The one from the night you met Charlotte.
He nodded, grinning. “Yeah. He’s back this weekend. Playing that same club. Charlotte’s out of town—family thing—so I thought, you know… maybe you’d want to go?”
You blinked. “With you?”
“Well yeah,” he said, shrugging. “We haven’t properly been out together in a while.”
You opened your mouth to say no. You were ready to. The excuse was half-formed, something about being tired or having plans or just not being in the mood. But then you looked at him.
The way he was smiling, not the flashy kind he used with everyone else. Just quiet. Hopeful. Familiar.
It tugged something loose in your chest. Something softer.
And you realized how long it had been since it was just the two of you. Since the night was only yours, not divided by subtext or someone else’s presence. Just Lando. Just you.
“Okay,” you said, slower than you meant to. “Yeah, let’s go.”
His whole face lit up. “Yeah? Sick.”
He was already unlocking his phone, tapping away excitedly, like this was something he’d been waiting on for longer than he let on.
And for a second, you let yourself feel it too.
The anticipation. The comfort. The possibility of something that used to be yours.
Even if it wasn’t anymore.
And when Saturday came arround, you didn’t set out to get that drunk.
It started small. Innocent. A night out that felt overdue—just the two of you again, no lingering tension, no third presence hovering over your shoulder. Something that might feel like old times, even if it wasn’t.
The air was stiff at first. Not cold exactly, just... cautious. Like you both were waiting to see who would make the first move, who would laugh first, tease first, act like nothing had changed.
But the moment you really realized Charlotte wasn’t there and wasn’t even mentioned, something in you loosened. You let the tightness in your chest go slack. Just a little.
Lando’s voice was familiar. His jokes were predictable and comforting. His eyes, bright and warm and pointed only at you, felt like home again.
Then came the drinks. Just one each. Then a second. Then shared shots, the kind you never liked but took anyway, because he handed it to you with that grin and you didn’t want to be the reason it faded.
Then the music got louder. The lights got blurrier.
And you started to feel good. Really good.
The kind of good that makes you forget the ache in your chest. The kind that makes it easy to smile without thinking. Easy to dance without worrying where his hands aren’t.
Easy to believe that maybe none of this is as complicated as it’s become.
The place was packed, pulsing with heat and the blurred lines of strangers dancing too close. You moved through it all like someone trying to shake something off. The vodka burned, but it helped. The music was too loud, but it gave your thoughts somewhere to hide. People laughed, flirted, spilled drinks, and it all melted into a blur around the edges.
But none of that mattered.
What mattered was him.
Lando looked stupidly good. The kind of good you tried not to notice anymore. His shirt clung in all the right places, curls damp with sweat, cheeks flushed from the mix of dancing and liquor. His laugh was even louder than usual, a little reckless. Real.
And you hated how much it got to you.
At one point, he leaned close to say something, and his hand found the small of your back. Familiar, casual. But you felt it everywhere. You didn’t pull away.
And maybe that was the beginning of the end.
You’d missed that version of him. The one who laughed without checking himself, who let the music move through him like it belonged there. The version of him that reached for your hand without hesitation, eyes bright and mouth already curved into a grin before you even made it to the dance floor.
“You remember this song?” he yelled over the heavy thump of the speakers, his fingers tightening around yours as he pulled you into the mess of bodies.
You stumbled forward, laughter bubbling up before you could stop it. The alcohol made everything feel slightly off balance, spinning, sliding, but somehow safer in his orbit. “Of course I remember. You played it on a loop that summer.”
“I did not,” he protested, already grinning like he knew you were right.
“You did,” you insisted, jabbing a finger at his chest. “Three weeks. Same stupid song. I wanted to break your speaker.”
He raised his eyebrows, spinning you once with a dramatic flair. You wobbled, giggling, and crashed into him. His hands caught your hips to steady you, lingering just a second too long. “It’s a classic. Can’t argue with art.”
“You’re so full of it,” you said, still breathless.
“Drunk me is confident,” he corrected, swaying with you as the beat shifted to something heavier, deeper. His body moved closer, hands hovering but not quite touching now, the ghost of muscle memory dancing just beneath the skin.
“I said cocky,” you teased, looking up at him through lashes that felt too heavy.
He shrugged with a crooked smile. “Same thing.”
The air grew thicker with heat and sweat and perfume, the kind of charged closeness that made it hard to breathe but impossible to pull away from. Around you, people danced in a blur of limbs and laughter, but your focus narrowed. Just him. Just this.
You didn’t notice when your body curved back into his, only that it felt right. Familiar. Like falling into a rhythm your body hadn’t forgotten, even if your mind had tried. His chest pressed against your spine, hands still tentative, but closer now. Testing the distance.
His breath brushed your ear. “You’re dangerous like this,” he said, low enough to be private, words already slurred from the alcohol “You dance like you know someone is watching.”
The words sent a ripple down your spine. You turned in his arms, slow and deliberate, until you were facing him, nothing but inches between you. You tilted your chin up slightly, meeting his gaze head-on.
“And you talk like you forgot we’re not doing this anymore,” you said, voice even, but your pulse was anything but.
For a beat, he didn’t respond. Just stared, expression unreadable except for the subtle flick of his eyes to your mouth. His fingers twitched where they hovered at your waist, like he was trying to decide if he could cross that line again. Just once.
The moment stretched, pulsing in time with the music. His eyes darkened, parted lips like he might speak, or do something else entirely.
And then someone stumbled past, jostling your shoulder. A splash of liquid hit your arm. Someone swore. You stepped back instinctively.
The spell broke. The music kept going, but something between you stopped.
It was already clear Lando had passed the threshold long before you'd left the club. Inside, he’d been leaning on you between songs, mumbling nonsense into your ear, slurring the end of every sentence like it was a secret. His eyes had lost their usual sharpness, replaced with that wide, glassy look that meant he’d stopped keeping track of how much he drank.
And when he threw his head back and yelled across the bar for “just one more round!”, you knew he was gone.
But it wasn’t until the cold air hit your faces that it really sunk in.
It slammed into you both like a wall, sobering and spinning at the same time. The night outside was harsh and too quiet, the kind of quiet that makes your ears ring after hours of music pounding through your chest.
Lando blinked hard. Wobbled once. Then let out a groan so low and pitiful you almost laughed again. “Oh no,” he muttered, eyes big and terrified like he’d just remembered gravity existed. “I don’t like this.”
You swayed slightly, vision swimming, trying to focus on the street signs. “You’re fine. Just keep walking. It’s not that far to the taxis.”
“I can’t feel my legs,” he whispered urgently. “Are they still attached?”
“They’re attached. One foot in front of the other.”
“I feel like I’m floating. But in, like, a bad way.”
He sagged heavily against your side, nearly dragging you both off the curb.
“You’re the best,” he muttered, lips brushing your shoulder, “but I still want chips.”
“I know,” you said, pulling him toward the curb. “We’ll find you chips. And maybe an exorcist.”
You were barely holding it together yourself. Your head was full of cotton, your mouth dry, legs wobbly beneath you. But you kept going. Because someone had to. And tonight, it wasn’t going to be him.
The cab ride was a miracle.
It smelled like kebabs and stale beer, the kind of sticky, sour stench that clung to your clothes. Lando collapsed the second he was in, sprawling across the backseat like a drunk prince. His head found your shoulder automatically, and his arm flopped across your lap, heavy and hot.
He sighed, a deep, content sound that tugged at something in your chest.
Then he mumbled something “ketchup”, maybe “curry sauce”. Or maybe your name. You weren’t sure. You didn’t want to be sure.
His eyes stayed shut, but the faintest smile curled at the corners of his mouth. The kind of smile that only ever showed up when he felt safe. Like this. With you.
Your stomach twisted.
You stared out the window, streetlights blurring past like stars falling sideways. The world was still spinning, but slower now. Quieter. Almost peaceful, if you didn’t think too hard about the weight of his hand on your knee.
When the cab finally slowed to a stop outside the flat, you nudged him gently. “Lando,” you whispered, shaking his shoulder. “We’re home.”
He groaned in protest and buried his face in your coat. “Five more minutes,” he mumbled, then threw one arm dramatically over his eyes like he was playing dead.
You sighed, the kind of sigh that came from the soles of your feet. Exhausted. Amused. A little exasperated.
“Come on, Lando.”
He slumped deeper into the cab seat. “Nooooo.”
“Get. Up.”
“Carry me,” he said without shame, eyes shut, arms flopping out like a child asking for a piggyback ride.
You half-laughed, half-groaned, already climbing out of the car. “You are literally all limbs. You’re a human octopus.”
But despite his dramatic protest, he tried to stand—sort of. Wobbled to his feet with the grace of a baby deer and immediately swayed into you. You looped an arm around his waist, feeling the full, ridiculous weight of him as he leaned into your side like you were gravity itself.
Getting him across the pavement was a comedy of errors. Every few steps, he muttered something new: a complaint, a question, a half-coherent lyric. “It’s freezing,” he whined. “I’m dying. You know, I think I miss my bed more than I’ve ever missed anything. And do we have crisps? Wait—wait. Do you have crisps?”
“You’re ridiculous,” you hissed, breath fogging in the cold. “Shut up and walk.”
“I’m charming,” he corrected with great effort, slurring it into something closer to shar-ming as he bumped his forehead against yours. “Also… I love your hair.”
You faltered.
“What?”
“Just sayin’,” he said, the words thick and sweet. “It’s soft. Like—like clouds.”
Your mouth went dry. You didn’t answer. Couldn’t, really.
Finally—miraculously—you got the door open. The apartment greeted you with dim, golden light and that faint scent that was always there.
Lando nearly fell inside, catching himself with one hand on the wall before staggering upright. “I’m good,” he said to absolutely no one, then gestured grandly down the hallway like he was a knight returning from battle. “Bed. Now.”
He took off with a crooked gait, zigzagging like he was dodging invisible obstacles. You followed out of instinct more than anything, watching him collapse face-first onto his bed, limbs sprawled at impossible angles. He hadn’t even taken off his shoes.
“Lando,” you mumbled, pulling at your own boots, swaying a little. “Shoes. Off.”
“I can’t,” he whined, rolling onto his back. His voice went high and needy. “You do it. Please? I’m just a little drunk boy.”
You dropped to your knees at the edge of the bed, hands fumbling for his laces with what limited dexterity you had left. The room tilted slightly around you as you tried to focus.
Above you, there was a soft metallic clink. Then the subtle slide of leather on denim.
You paused. “Lando, what are you doing?”
A beat of silence.
“You said to get undressed.”
You looked up, then immediately rolled your eyes.
His belt was halfway undone, his jeans unbuttoned, his shirt half-off in the most chaotic, tangled mess you’d ever seen. He looked like someone who’d lost a fight with his own clothing.
“I said take of your shoes, you idiot.”
But he was grinning now. Slow. Lazy. His elbows propped him up enough to look down where you knelt at the edge of the bed, between his legs. Curls messy, eyes half-lidded and locked on you.
“Fuck,” he muttered, soft and low. “What a view.”
You blinked, heart stuttering.
Because his voice wasn’t teasing. Not really.
And neither was the way he was looking at you.
Your hands were still tangled in the laces of his second shoe, knuckles brushing against the fabric of his jeans, your body swaying ever so slightly from the haze of alcohol. You were kneeling between his legs—flushed, breathless, hair falling over your face in loose strands. A mess. But not the kind you cared to fix right now.
You giggled, quiet and nervous, trying to shake off the tension wrapping around your spine like a coiled wire. “You’re drunk,” you said, voice unsteady, caught somewhere between amusement and something far more dangerous.
Lando groaned in response, collapsing back onto the mattress with all the weight of someone who’d decided that gravity was now in charge. His arms flopped outward, one draped dramatically off the side of the bed, the other dragging lazily down the middle of his chest. The mattress springs gave a long, creaking sigh beneath him.
Then his hand stilled—paused low on his stomach, his crotch to be fair.
You froze.
Your eyes followed the subtle shift of his fingers as they drifted downward, slow, unhurried, until they pressed against the front of his jeans. Just a simple adjustment. Natural. Absentminded. Adjusting the obvious buldge.
He exhaled, low and slow, like the weight of his own touch had ignited something he wasn’t ready to name. His fingers lingered, just for a second too long. And you were still kneeling there. Still watching.
Your breath caught like a tripwire.
He didn’t look at you when he spoke. “You know…” he began, his voice gravel-rough and dipped in sleep and liquor and something els, something unmistakably want. “I could just… see your lips wrapped around me. Right there.”
He said it like a confession, not a line. Not tossed with bravado or smirked with smug satisfaction.
It landed like a punch in the chest.
Your body went still. The air in the room shifted, sucked out of it and replaced with something dense. Electric.
You stared at him, stunned, not because of what he said, but because of how it made you feel. The way it shot straight through you, molten and reckless.
And without a word, you stood.
Not fast. Not dramatic. Just slow, deliberate, your knees unfolding, rising to your feet with shaky grace. You stayed between his legs, your body towering over him now, close enough to feel the heat rolling off his skin.
He didn’t move.
For a terrifying second, you thought maybe he had passed out. That all of it—all of him—was already slipping away again. Just another foggy memory you’d try not to touch later.
But then, his lashes fluttered. His head tilted forward. His hands found your waist like muscle memory, fingers warm and unsteady, gripping you like he didn’t trust the room to stay still. It took effort, but he sat up, blinking through the haze until his eyes locked on yours.
And then he was there.
Right there.
Face level with your chest, his chin resting between your boobs while looking up at you through his lashes. Your shirt had slipped lower than you realized, the neckline gaping just enough for his gaze to catch on bare skin. His lips parted, eyes dark and unblinking, and something in the air cracked under the weight of it.
This wasn’t the look of someone flirting.
This was hunger. Unfiltered. Slow-burning.
He tilted his chin up slightly, mouth open, like he was already breathing you in. And his hands—god, his hands—tightened on your waist, not pulling, just holding, like you were the only stable thing in a world that wouldn't stop spinning.
“Fuck,” he whispered again, voice hoarse and reverent.
Your stomach knotted. Everything pulsed.
The room felt thick, too hot, your heart hammering in your throat. You couldn’t tell if the heat in your cheeks came from the alcohol or the way his eyes were dragging over you like he was memorizing every exposed inch.
“Lando…” you whispered. It wasn’t loud. Barely there. Like even saying his name might snap the fragile thread of tension between you.
But he heard you.
His eyes snapped back to yours. And for the first time in what felt like forever, he didn’t look confused. He didn’t look careless.
He didn’t blink. Didn’t flinch. It was like he’d already decided. Like your voice saying his name only confirmed something that had already started unfolding the second the club door closed behind you.
His fingers—warm, unsteady—brushed up your back, trailing lazily over the thin fabric of your shirt. The motion was soft, almost absentminded, like he was just touching to remember what you felt like. Then he dragged one hand across your side, curling around your ribs. The contact made you shiver.
“You look so good in this,” he mumbled, voice rough and low—drunk, slurred.
Then his fingers dipped forward, brushing across your chest. Not grabbing. Just a slow sweep through the valley of your breasts, knuckles grazing delicate skin like he wasn’t even fully aware he was doing it.
You exhaled, sharp.
His eyes flicked up again, meeting yours.
You didn’t stop him.
There was a long moment where nothing happened and everything did, your breath shallow, your thighs tightening, your hands flexing uselessly at your sides.
He got impatient, hands sliding down to your hips before tugging you down onto his thigh. The motion was clumsy, uncoordinated, but it lit a spark in your gut all the same. Now straddling him, your legs bracketed his thigh, your body pressed close—closer than it had been in weeks.
His thigh pressed between yours, firm and warm, the denim rough against your skin. The pressure made you gasp, a quiet, breathy sound you didn’t mean to let out. He heard it anyway. Smirked.
His eyes trailed from the neckline of your shirt up to your face, pupils blown wide and unfocused and then he was touching you again, fingertips brushing your cheek, slipping around to the nape of your neck. You froze, breath hitched, a pulse thudding between your ribs.
He looked at you like he was about to say something. But he didn’t. He just pulled you in, his mouth crashing against yours.
You kissed him back like you were starving.
His groan rumbled low in his throat as his hand tightened at your waist, pulling you flush to him. The kiss was messy, all teeth and heat and unspoken feelings bursting to the surface. His other hand threaded into your hair, tilting your head just enough to deepen it. You could taste the alcohol on his tongue, could feel the weeks of silence and missed moments pouring out of him and into you.
It was overwhelming and perfect and reckless.
You didn’t even realize you were moving at first.
It was slow—barely anything at all—but the friction caught instantly, your body shifting against the line of his thigh, your breath stuttering. His hands gripped you tighter, like he felt it too, a low sound slipping from his throat again, half moan, half curse.
You broke the kiss, lips parting as you pulled back just a little, your mouth still open, breathing him in. His lips were kiss-swollen, his eyes dark and glazed and fixed entirely on you.
What were you doing?
The thought flashed—brief, sharp—but it was buried under the weight of his hands, the warmth of him underneath you, the alcohol roaring in your bloodstream like a permission slip you didn’t need. All the silence. All the pretending. All of it collapsed into this moment that didn’t feel like a mistake yet.
And then—soft, urgent, not quite a plea—he said it:
“Don’t stop.”
It was barely more than a whisper, but it landed like a strike.
You didn’t.
Your hips tilted again, slow and uncertain, chasing that pressure, feeling the flex of his thigh through his jeans and the heat building in your own body.
His hands slipped lower—slow, possessive—until one settled firmly at your hip, the other sliding down to grab your ass, fingers curling in a way that made you gasp. He pulled you harder against him, guiding your movement with an unspoken rhythm that had your whole body humming.
The friction turned sharper, needier. Your breath caught in your throat.
You leaned in again before you could think better of it.
Mouths crashed. No hesitation now, no teasing—just tongue and teeth and heat, wet and messy and drunk. His hand gripped you tighter, pulling your body flush against his. You rocked down into him, your hips rutting against his thigh, the pressure between your legs maddening.
It wasn’t graceful. It wasn’t slow.
But it was exactly what it had to be.
Neither of you spoke. There was nothing to say. Just the slap of mouths and the low groan in his throat as your nails scraped lightly over the back of his neck, as your lips dragged down to his jaw and he let out your name.
You barely noticed when you both tipped backwards, the mattress catching you in a clumsy sprawl. Lando grunted beneath you, his hands never leaving your body as your knee lifted, leg swinging over to straddle him properly now. You steadied yourself with your palms on his chest, breath ragged, hair slipping into your face.
For a beat, you just sat there, spine arching as your hips rolled down, your thin thong still catching friction against the rough denim of his jeans.
His hands gripped your waist harder.
You sat up slowly, heart hammering and peeled your shirt off, casting it somewhere into the darkened room. His eyes were locked on your body, mouth open, chest rising and falling fast.
Your skirt had already rucked up to your hips, forgotten. There was nothing left but that barely-there thong, stretched tight between your thighs, and the heavy line of him beneath you.
“Fuck,” he muttered, more to himself than to you, voice thick with disbelief, hunger, awe. His fingers flexed, holding you like you might vanish.
You leaned forward again, hands braced against his chest, feeling the thrum of his heart through your palms. Then lower. Fingers dragging down to the buckle he’d half-undone earlier in some drunken, distracted haze.
He twitched beneath you as your knuckles brushed over him, still restrained beneath denim but so obviously hard now. His eyes fluttered, head tilting back into the pillow.
“Jesus,” he whispered, eyes meeting yours again, all glassy and unguarded.
Your fingers moved slowly at first, slipping beneath the open leather of his belt and trailing down to the place where his warm skin met the rough denim. His breath hitched as you brushed along the line of his hipbone, teasing just above the waistband.
Then he lifted his hips with a drunken urgency, clumsy but determined, shoving jeans and boxers down in one go. The motion made you gasp, half in surprise, half in something deeper. He reached up, pulling at the sides of your thong at the same time, dragging the thin fabric down your legs with a groan, not even trying to be careful.
You helped, just enough. And then his legs kicked out beneath you, tangled clothes gone, skin warm against yours, bare now in a way that made your breath stall in your throat.
As he fell back again, you reached for his shirt—fingers fumbling with the buttons, working them free one by one, trailing your finger tips over the skin you uncovered. He was flushed, warm, and trembling slightly beneath your touch.
Then he stilled.
His hips settled again, and you were sitting fully on top of him now, the heat of your bare skin pressed down against him. His length nestled right between your folds, your lips parting on either side of him and it was obscene how clearly you could feel him.
Every inch. Every ridge. Every slow, pulsing throb.
You weren’t moving yet. Just breathing.
And he wasn’t saying a word. Just staring up at you with wide eyes and parted lips, like he couldn’t believe this was happening either.
You moved again, slow, unsteady, your hips tilting as the friction sparked another moan low in his throat. His hands gripped your waist tighter, dragging you down until your lips met again, even messier now, full of teeth and breath and need.
Then, in one dizzy motion, he rolled, flipping you beneath him with a half-laugh, half-groan, barely managing to brace himself on one elbow beside your head. The other arm stayed locked around your waist, holding you close, keeping you there.
His body hovered over yours, heat pressed to heat. You could feel him, right there, poised, waiting.
Lando looked down at you, eyes glassy and wide, his curls damp against his forehead. He searched your face like he wasn’t even sure this was real.
You didn’t say anything. You didn’t need to.
He pressed forward, slow at first like he didn’t trust himself not to rush it. His hands gripped your hips like a tether, grounding him in the moment even as the rest of him trembled. You felt the stretch, the heat, the deep pull of him inside you, and your breath caught sharply. His mouth parted around a broken sound—barely a gasp, almost reverent.
And then he looked at you.
Really looked at you.
His eyes were glassy, yes, but there was something almost sober in the way he met your gaze.
You cupped his face, fingers slipping through sweat-damp curls, and he leaned into the touch like it was the only thing keeping him steady. “You okay?” you whispered, voice cracking around the edges.
He nodded, forehead pressed to yours, lips ghosting over your cheek as he moved deeper. “Yeah,” he whispered. “You?”
You nodded too. Because you were.
The rhythm was messy, offbeat and drunken but there was something devastatingly earnest in the way he held you, kissed you, clung to you like this was something he’d been starving for. Like your body was the first place he’d felt whole in weeks. His hands moved constantly: down your back, over your ribs, threading into your hair like he couldn’t touch enough, couldn’t get enough. Every time your breath hitched, every time you whispered his name, he answered like a prayer.
Not rushed. Not careless. Just undone.
Your hips rocked together, not perfectly, but with a building desperation that made it real. Your thighs trembled him, his grip tightening when you whimpered and he kissed you again, sloppy, open-mouthed, too much teeth. You didn’t care. You kissed him like you needed it to stay alive.
He whispered something then, your name, maybe, or a curse, or please. You didn’t catch all of it, just the weight of it, the way it split his voice open.
Your climax hit slowly, like your body was realizing it in pieces, rippling up your spine before washing through your limbs. You buried your face in his shoulder, breath breaking against his skin, clinging to him like you’d fall apart otherwise.
He came after, head thrown back, jaw slack, a sound falling from his throat like it had nowhere else to go. One hand held the back of your neck. The other wrapped around your waist, like if he let go you’d both come undone.
But he didn’t let go.
Not even when your bodies stilled. Not even when the heat ebbed into afterglow and your breath began to steady. He stayed with you, his chest pressed to yours, his hand curled at the base of your spine, holding you like something fragile. Sacred.
After it was over, the room settled into a heavy, almost reverent silence. You lay there, the warmth of his body molding against yours, his arm draped protectively around your waist while the other rested gently across your chest and shoulders. The rise and fall of his breath gradually slowed, matching the steady rhythm of your own.
He nuzzled his head softly into the crook of your neck, his breath warm and uneven against your skin. It was a quiet kind of intimacy—slow, unspoken, raw in a way that made your chest ache.
Not like the other nights.
Not like the hurried kisses and tangled sheets and the silence that always followed, when you'd slip away before the sun touched the windows. When he'd turn his back or mumble something half-asleep and you'd pretend it didn’t hollow you out.
Those nights were physical. Fleeting. Always burning out before morning.
But this—this closeness—was different. He hadn’t let go. Hadn’t pulled away. His arm stayed wrapped around your waist like a tether, his nose brushing against your skin like he needed to feel you to stay grounded.
You didn’t quite know what had just happened. Part of you understood perfectly, yet another part felt suspended, caught between clarity and confusion.
Your hand found his forearm, fingers curling lightly around the soft skin, anchoring you to the moment. The silence stretched, thick with unspoken things.
Then, barely more than a whisper, you broke it.
“Lan.”
A low groan, almost sleepy, came as a response. “Hm.”
You weren’t sure if he was still awake or already drifting away.
Gathering a quiet courage, you whispered again, “I love you.”
No answer. Just the faint sound of his breathing against your neck, steady and slow.
i literally said sorry in advance, pls don´t come for me

yn and kimi have been together since they were fifteen—growing up side by side, even as life started pulling them in different directions. now, with yn living in another country and kimi chasing his dream in formula 1, time together is rare, and the distance is harder than either of them expected. when kimi’s graduation day arrives, he assumes it’ll be just another milestone, another event she’ll have to miss. but what he doesn't know is that yn has a few surprises up her sleeve…with the help of a certain world champion.

The screen lights up with his name just as you’re about to crawl into bed.
Kimi 💙 wants to FaceTime…
You smile instinctively, heart tugging even before you swipe to answer.
“Hi,” you say, and there’s a warmth in your voice that only exists for him.
His face fills the screen a second later — hoodie on, hair slightly messy like he’s been running his hands through it, eyes heavy with something unspoken.
“Hey,” he murmurs. And just like that, it’s quiet. The kind of silence that wraps around your chest and squeezes.
You can tell. He’s trying to be fine. But the smile doesn’t quite reach his eyes tonight.
“You okay?” you ask softly.
He nods once. Then again. “Yeah. Just… I don’t know. I miss you.”
You sigh. “I miss you too.”
He leans back on his pillow, the phone angling just enough to catch the posters on his wall and the edge of his desk, cluttered with school papers and notes. “Graduation’s in a few weeks and everyone keeps asking who’s coming. And all I wanna say is you, but I don’t even know if you can be here.”
Your heart cracks just a little. “Kimi…”
“I’m not mad,” he says quickly, like he already regrets bringing it up. “I know you’re busy, and the flights suck, and F1 weekends don’t exactly stop for me to wear a silly cap and shake someone’s hand. It’s just… I want you there. Really bad.”
You don’t say anything at first. Because what is there to say? You want to be there too. More than anything. But your schedule’s been insane, and between time zones and obligations, it’s all starting to feel like you’re stuck behind a glass wall you can’t break through.
“I’m trying to figure it out,” you tell him honestly. “I swear, I’m looking at flights every day. I want to be there more than you know.”
He nods, eyes flickering down like he’s trying to hide the weight of it all. “It’s not even about graduation. It’s just… I’m tired of missing you. Tired of this screen being the only way I get to see your face.”
You swallow hard. “I know. Me too.”
“I’d give anything just to have you next to me right now,” he says, voice barely above a whisper. “Even if we didn’t talk. Just to know you’re here.”
You press your hand to your chest like that might hold it together. “We’re almost there,” you promise. “Just a little bit longer.”
“Promise?”
You smile, aching and real. “Always.”
He lets out a shaky breath and leans in just a little closer to the camera, like if he tries hard enough, he might reach you through the pixels. And you sit there, both quiet, both hurting, but both still trying—because that’s what love looks like from miles apart. Not perfect. Just worth it.
—
You scroll past the name twice before your thumb finally hovers over it. Max Verstappen. You haven’t called him in weeks — not because anything’s wrong, but because life has been busy, chaotic, distant. Still, he’s always made it clear: “For you and Kimi? Anytime. Anywhere. I’ll send the damn jet if I have to.”
And tonight… you need the jet. The phone rings once. Twice. Then you hear his voice — scratchy, tired, but still very Max.
“You’re alive,” he says. “Was starting to think you ran off to join a cult in New York.”
You laugh under your breath. “Hi, Max.”
“Hi,” he echoes, but softer this time. “What’s going on?”
There’s a pause. Not because you don’t know what to say — but because saying it makes it real. Your heart is already in Italy with Kimi, counting down the days to his graduation, to seeing his name called, to the one moment he’s been dreaming of since he was a kid. And you can’t miss it.
“I need to call in that favor,” you say.
There’s a beat of silence. Then a low chuckle. “I knew this day would come.”
“I’m serious,” you tell him. “I’ve checked every flight, every connection, and nothing gets me there in time. He keeps pretending it doesn’t matter, but it does, Max. I have to be there.”
He doesn’t hesitate. “Say less. The jet’s yours.”
Your throat tightens. “Really?”
“Really. I’ll have it waiting. You just tell me where and when. And YN?” His voice softens. “You showing up? That’s going to mean everything to him. You two… you’ve got the real thing. I’ve always known that.”
You blink fast, suddenly overwhelmed. “You’re gonna make me cry.”
“Good. Then we’re even,” he teases, a smile clear in his voice.
You shake your head, heart full. “I owe you.”
“Just send me a picture of his face when he sees you. That’s payment enough.”
And just like that, the plan’s in motion. Because sometimes, the people who love you don’t need explanations — they just show up. Or, in Max’s case, they send a jet.
—
You pace your room, nerves buzzing in your stomach like bees. Max has already confirmed the jet — it’s happening. You’re going. But there’s one more call you have to make before you start throwing clothes in a suitcase.
You scroll until you find the contact saved as Mamma Antonelli 💕 — because that’s how she insisted you save it after the first summer you stayed with them in Bologna. She picks up after two rings, and before you can even speak, her voice lights up.
“Tesoro! It’s been too long! Kimi told me you’ve been busy with work — are you eating? You always sound tired when you’re not eating.”
You laugh, heart swelling instantly. “Hi, Mamma. I’m okay, I promise.”
“Mm-hm. I don’t trust you. But I love you anyway,” she teases. You can already hear the clatter of dishes in the background — Sunday dinner prep, probably. “To what do I owe the honor?”
You sit on the edge of your bed, smile slipping into something more serious. “I… wanted to tell you something. Actually, I wanted to ask something.”
“Oh no. Are you eloping?”
You snort. “What? No!”
“Okay, okay, just checking. Then what is it?”
You take a breath. “I’m coming to Kimi’s graduation. Max is sending the jet. I haven’t told Kimi — I want to surprise him.”
There’s a pause, and then— “Oh, mio Dio. You’re going to make me cry.”
You smile, a little watery. “I couldn’t miss it. He’s pretending he doesn’t care if I’m there or not, but I know it matters to him. And I just… I need to be there. For him.”
You hear rustling in the background, her calling out something in rapid-fire Italian. Then Kimi’s dad gets on the phone, his voice warm and familiar.
“She told me. You’re coming.”
“I am,” you say, smiling into the phone. “But don’t tell Kimi. Please.”
“I would never,” he promises. “He’s been sulking around like a lost puppy. This will knock the wind out of him — in a good way.”
“He’s going to freak out,” you whisper, grinning now.
“He’s going to cry,” his mom adds in the background.
You laugh. “You really think so?”
“We know so,” they say in unison.
“Okay, then,” you breathe. “Let’s pull this off.”
“We’ll be waiting at the airport,” Mamma says. “And then we’ll get you hidden before he even arrives. We’ll make it perfect.”
You hang up a few minutes later, cheeks aching from smiling so hard. Your chest is lighter now — filled with excitement instead of guilt. This is happening. You’re going to be there. And Kimi? He has no idea what’s coming.
—
The jet is sleek and quiet, and somehow still feels completely surreal. You’re strapped into the soft leather seat with your hoodie pulled tight over your head, window shade half-closed as the engines hum beneath you. You can’t stop checking your phone — triple-confirming the flight path, re-reading texts from Max, and replaying the plan in your head like you’re about to perform a heist. And just as the jet begins to taxi down the runway…
Kimi 💙 is calling…
Your heart leaps into your throat.
“No, no, no, not now,” you mutter, scrambling to answer before the noise gives anything away. You slide down in your seat, like somehow that will make you less suspicious.
“Hey,” you say, trying to keep your voice steady and definitely not like you’re ON A PRIVATE JET.
“Hey,” he says, sounding a little breathless. “What are you doing?”
You blink at the window, watching the airport disappear into motion. “Um. Just… heading somewhere.”
“Somewhere?” he repeats, a soft laugh in his voice. “That’s vague.”
You gulp. “Work stuff. Last-minute thing. Super boring.”
You can hear the smirk. “That why you sound all nervous?”
“I’m not nervous,” you say quickly. Too quickly. “Just tired. Early morning.”
“It’s like… 3PM where you are.”
Shit.
“Time is fake,” you blurt. “It’s a construct.”
There’s a beat of silence. Then Kimi laughs, low and warm, and somehow that makes everything worse. “You okay?”
“Totally. Totally fine. Just lots going on. Meetings. Presentations. Jet lag.”
You wince. Jet. Wrong word. Terrible word.
But Kimi, bless his oblivious heart, doesn’t react. “Well, I just wanted to hear your voice. I know things have been hectic.”
Your chest aches. “I’m really proud of you,” you say, suddenly emotional. “I know graduation is coming up and you’re probably pretending it’s not a big deal, but it is. You’re amazing, Kimi.”
He’s quiet for a moment. “I wish you could be there.”
“I know,” you whisper, holding your breath so you don’t ruin everything. “Me too.”
Another silence. Then. “Okay. I’ll let you go. Call me later, okay?”
“Promise,” you say, smiling so hard your cheeks hurt. “Love you.”
“Love you more,” he says, before the line goes dead.
You exhale, head dropping back against the seat. Somehow, you didn’t blow the surprise. Barely. And now, you’re flying toward the one person in the world who has no idea you’re about to show up and change everything.
—
The jet touches down with barely a bump, sunlight flooding through the window as the plane slows on the runway. Your heart is pounding, fingers drumming nervously against your thighs. You can’t believe you’re actually here. In Italy. For him. As the cabin door opens and the warm air hits your face, you quickly pull out your phone. There’s only one person you need to call first. Max Verstappen.
He picks up on the second ring.
“You landed?”
“Just now,” you breathe, already smiling. “Max… thank you. I know you always joked about sending the jet, but—”
“I wasn’t joking,” he interrupts casually. “I’d do it again. And again. You two are disgusting and adorable and give the rest of us hope.”
You laugh, a little choked up. “Seriously. I don’t know how to repay you.”
“Like I said…all I need is proof of his reaction. I want to see the exact moment his brain breaks in half.”
You grin. “Done.”
“Good. Go get your boy.”
You hang up just as you spot them — Kimi’s parents, waiting just outside the private terminal with barely contained excitement. His mom is the first to see you.
“TESORO!” she yells, rushing toward you with open arms.
You barely have time to drop your bag before she’s hugging you so tightly your feet actually lift off the ground. “You’re here! You’re really here! Oh, mio Dio, he’s going to collapse.”
“I missed you too,” you laugh into her shoulder, overwhelmed in the best way.
Kimi’s dad pulls you into a hug next, his hand warm on your back. “He’s going to lose his mind,” he says with a proud grin. “He’s been pretending he doesn’t care, but he’s been moping around like a ghost.”
“And now,” his mom adds, wiping tears from her eyes, “you’re going to walk in and ruin him. Perfectly.”
“Thank you both,” you say, heart full. “For keeping the secret. For being part of this.”
“We’d do anything for you,” his mom says, cupping your face. “You’re family.”
And as they lead you to the car, laughing and chattering about the plan, your heart feels light again.
—
You’re crouched behind the kitchen counter, holding back a laugh as Mamma Antonelli calls out, “Maggie! Tesoro, come here for a minute!”
Tiny footsteps echo down the hallway, quick and full of purpose.
“What?” Maggie’s voice is high pitched and dramatic in the way only ten year olds can manage. “I’m making Kimi a card! And I used the fancy markers!”
“Just come, piccola,” Mamma says, smiling wide as she stirs a pot on the stove. “I have something to show you.”
Maggie stomps into the kitchen, all pink socks and hair in a pink headband, holding a glittery construction paper card in one hand and a scowl on her face. “This better be good.”
You slowly peek out from behind the counter.
“Surprise,” you say softly.
Maggie stops immediately.
Her whole face drops—eyes going wide like saucers, mouth falling open as she stares at you. For a second, she doesn’t say a word.
Then—“YN?!”
You barely have time to nod before she shrieks and runs at you, throwing her tiny arms around your waist with all the force her little body can manage. You stumble back a step, laughing through the sudden sting in your eyes.
“You’re really here?” she asks, voice muffled against your hoodie. “For real real? Not just on my iPad?”
“For real real,” you promise, hugging her tightly. “Just for Kimi. But I had to see you first.”
She pulls back, cheeks flushed with excitement. “He’s gonna cry. I just know it. He’s been all moody and weird and saying stuff like ‘it’s fine’ even though it’s clearly not fine.”
You giggle, wiping your eyes. “That sounds like him.”
“I’m gonna help!” she declares. “With the surprise! I can distract him or hide you or pretend there’s a present and then BOOM—it’s you!”
You glance at Mamma Antonelli, who’s trying not to cry into her wooden spoon.
“I think we just found the mastermind,” you say.
Maggie beams. “I’m so good at secrets. Except for that one time I told Papa about the broken vase, but that was different.”
You ruffle her hair. “We’ll be careful this time.”
She nods like she’s just been given a secret mission. “He’s gonna be so happy. You’re his favorite person.”
Your chest aches with love. “He’s mine too.”
And as Maggie skips off to start planning “Operation Surprise Kimi,” you take a deep breath and smile—because in this house, with this family, you’ve never felt more at home.
—
The sun is warm and golden, spilling over the ancient stone buildings that line the courtyard. There’s laughter in the air, shouts of congratulations in Italian, the occasional champagne cork popping in the distance. Red laurel crowns sit proudly on graduates’ heads, marking the end of years of hard work. And Kimi?
Kimi Antonelli is right in the middle of it all, standing in his white linen shirt, the crown just slightly crooked on his head, cheeks flushed from the sun — and maybe from emotion he’s not letting himself show. He’s smiling for photos, thanking professors, dodging confetti and hugs and the occasional overzealous cousin, but something is clearly missing. His smile doesn’t quite reach his eyes. And you see it. From where you’re hidden behind a group of olive trees with Maggie and his mother, your heart aches for him. You should’ve been standing beside him. But not for long.
“Kimi’s still over there,” Mamma Antonelli whispers, lifting her phone to start filming. “Max and George said to absolutely not miss the moment. Max said he’s taking bets on whether Kimi cries or faints.”
“I think both,” Maggie whispers gleefully. “Or maybe he’ll scream like a goat.”
You’re trembling a little, heart hammering as Mamma gives you the softest little nudge. “Vai. Go.”
You nod, swallow hard, and step out from behind the trees. Kimi is turned slightly away, laughing at something his best friend just said. His crown has slipped further down his forehead. His hand is gripping the side of his phone like he wants to text someone — probably you. And then, he hears it.
“Nice crown, graduate.”
He freezes. His body stiffens. His head snaps up. Slowly, like he doesn’t quite believe it, he turns around.
And there you are. Standing a few feet away in the same sundress you wore the summer you first visited Bologna. Hair curling from the humidity, eyes shining, heart in your throat. You’re smiling — already crying — but smiling. For a full five seconds, Kimi doesn’t move. Then he drops everything — the diploma folder, the champagne glass someone handed him, even his crown slips a little more off his head — and he runs.
His arms are around you in seconds, lifting you clean off the ground like he can’t believe you’re real. You’re laughing and crying into his shoulder, fingers buried in the back of his hair.
“You’re here,” he says, over and over again. “You’re here. You’re really here.”
You nod, pressing your forehead to his. “Surprise.”
Kimi pulls back just enough to look at you, tears now clearly in his eyes. “How? How are you here?”
You grin. “Max sent the jet.”
He blinks. “Max?!”
“And your mom helped. And your sister. And George’s only request was that you cry. So, you know. No pressure.”
He laughs through the tears, breath hitching as he leans in and kisses you like he’s starving for it — like months of distance and missed calls and sleepless nights dissolve in that one moment.
Behind you, you hear Maggie yell, “HE’S CRYING!” followed by the sound of Mamma Antonelli’s voice narrating in shaky, emotional Italian for the video.
“Look! Guardalo! Max, George — sta piangendo come un bambino innamorato!”
You break the kiss, burying your face in Kimi’s neck as he holds you tighter than ever.
“I didn’t want to miss this,” you whisper. “I couldn’t.”
“You didn’t,” he breathes. “You’re here. That’s all I need.”
And as red petals and confetti rain down from the sky, as friends cheer and his family watches with misty eyes and proud smiles, Kimi kisses you again — this time slower, softer, like a thank-you, a promise, a homecoming all in one. You showed up. You always would. And for the first time in a long time, everything feels exactly right.
—
The sun is low by the time you arrive at the Antonellis’ countryside home, warm golden light spilling across the terracotta tiles and olive trees. Kimi’s laurel crown sits on the dashboard of the car like a trophy, slightly bent but still proud. He holds your hand the entire drive — knuckles white, like if he lets go, you might disappear again. You don’t blame him. You still can’t believe you’re here either.
As you step out of the car, you’re immediately hit with the familiar scent of garlic, tomato, and fresh basil — the kind of smell that makes your heart ache with nostalgia. Mamma Antonelli is already out on the porch in an apron, yelling something toward the kitchen window.
“You brought her home and you graduated? Finally, we can breathe again!” she announces dramatically, wiping her hands on her apron before pulling you in for another warm, crushing hug. “You’re sitting next to me. I don’t care what Kimi says.”
“She likes you more than me,” Kimi mutters beside you, grinning. “Confirmed.”
“I’ve always liked her more than you,” she shoots back, ruffling his hair before disappearing inside.
Dinner is a beautiful kind of chaos. Plates piled with pasta al forno and roasted vegetables, bottles of red wine passed around the table, someone shouting over someone else every few minutes. Kimi’s cousins are arguing about sports, his uncle is showing your graduation surprise video to anyone who will watch, and Maggie is seated at your side, proudly telling everyone how she was “basically the mastermind.”
Kimi watches you through all of it — not in the way people usually mean when they say that, but really watches. Like he can’t believe you’re real. Every time you laugh or lean in to wipe tomato sauce from Maggie’s cheek or clink glasses with his dad, he looks at you like he’s still catching his breath. At one point, as the noise dies down just slightly, he leans over and kisses your temple.
“You fit so perfectly here,” he murmurs. “You always have.”
You smile against your wine glass. “Maybe it’s because I love all of you more than you love each other.”
Mamma overhears. “Grazie, finally someone tells the truth!”
Later, as dessert is brought out — a homemade tiramisu that’s already half gone by the time it reaches your side of the table — Kimi takes your hand under the table and squeezes it. You look over to find his eyes a little glassy again, his voice low and full of that kind of sincerity that only happens when the world slows down for just a second.
“I meant it earlier,” he says. “You being here… it made everything feel real. I didn’t care about the ceremony or the diploma. I just wanted you.”
You squeeze his hand right back, heart full. “And now you have me.”
He leans in, presses a soft kiss to your cheek, and murmurs. “Forever, if I get my way.”
—
The house is finally quiet. The last of the dishes have been cleared, Maggie’s tucked into bed, and Kimi’s parents are somewhere inside. The warm night air spills in through the open window, carrying the scent of jasmine and summer. You’re curled up on the little balcony just off his childhood bedroom, one of his old hoodies draped over your shoulders, your knees pulled to your chest as you look up at the stars.
He joins you a moment later — barefoot, hair a little messy, still glowing from the day. He doesn’t say anything at first. Just sits down beside you, thigh brushing yours, hand finding your knee like it belongs there. Which it does.
“Hey,” he says softly.
“Hey.”
“You sure you’re real?” he asks, turning toward you. “Because you keep disappearing on me.”
You smile, tipping your head to rest on his shoulder. “I’m real. I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”
He exhales like he’s been holding that breath for months. You sit in silence for a moment, watching the lights flicker in the distance. Then he speaks again, voice low and honest in a way that only ever happens when the world finally goes quiet.
“I really thought you wouldn’t come.”
Your heart squeezes. “Kimi…”
“No, I know it’s not your fault,” he adds quickly. “I just— I told myself I didn’t care. Told everyone it was fine. But it wasn’t. I wanted you there. Needed you there. And then you were.”
You reach for his hand and lace your fingers through his. “I wanted to be there the second I found out the date. I would’ve moved mountains. Or at least begged Max to move them for me.”
He laughs — soft and tired, but real. “You don’t know what that did to me. Seeing you. I think time stopped for a second.”
You turn your head and meet his gaze, moonlight catching the gold in his eyes. “It stopped for me too.”
Kimi leans in and kisses you gently, slowly — no rush, no heat, just something warm and full of meaning. His hands slide around your waist, pulling you close until you’re practically in his lap, curled against him like the final missing piece has clicked into place.
“I don’t care how busy things get,” he whispers. “How far the races are or how many airports we have to go through. I just want you to keep showing up like that.”
“I will,” you promise. “Whenever it matters. Always.”
He rests his forehead against yours, eyes fluttering closed. “I love you.”
“I love you,” you echo, voice full and sure.
And there, on that quiet balcony with the stars overhead and the world asleep around you, Kimi holds you a little tighter — like he finally believes this isn’t just a dream.
—
The morning comes slow and golden. A breeze slips through the open window, carrying the scent the garden below. The room is still — warm and hazy, touched by early sunlight. Somewhere down the hall, you can faintly hear the clink of mugs and the low hum of his mom talking to Maggie. But here, wrapped in Kimi’s arms, the rest of the world doesn’t matter.
His chest rises and falls beneath your cheek, his heartbeat steady and grounding. One of his hands is tangled lazily in your hair, the other curled around your hip like he never quite let go during the night. He’s warm, impossibly so, like the sun lives beneath his skin. You shift a little and feel him stir.
“Mmm,” he hums, voice still raspy from sleep. “Still here?”
You smile without opening your eyes. “Told you I wasn’t going anywhere.”
He kisses the top of your head, slow and sleepy. “Good. Would’ve chased you if you did.”
“Would’ve made you work for it.”
“I’d work forever if it meant waking up like this.”
You finally lift your head and look at him. His curls are messy, one cheek slightly smushed against the pillow, but he’s still devastatingly handsome in that quiet, undone way. His eyes are soft, heavy-lidded, full of something deeper than just sleep — something closer to awe.
“You’re staring,” you murmur.
“You’re here,” he says back, like it’s still the most unbelievable thing in the world.
He brushes your hair back gently, fingers ghosting along your jaw like he needs to memorize it again. “Last night felt like a dream. The dinner. The surprise. You. This.”
“This is real,” you whisper.
“I know. That’s the best part.”
You snuggle closer, nose tucked beneath his jaw. “Your mom’s making coffee.”
“She’ll wait.”
“I think Maggie’s outside our door.”
“She’ll survive.”
You laugh into his chest, and he pulls you even tighter. “Let’s stay like this a little longer,” he says. “Just you and me. No rushing. No flights. No leaving.”
“Okay,” you whisper. “Just us.”
And you stay there — tangled in sheets and sun and each other — hearts steady, breaths slow, the morning stretching out like it was made just for the two of you.

AU where some new villain made a truth serum formula and captures Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, and Robin. This villain somehow knows they’ve all been Robin at one point and decides to use the truth serum to try and drive a wedge between them all so that they stop working together. He starts with Robin, asking him who he thinks was the best Robin (Nightwing), who he thinks is the worst (Red Robin) and why he thinks that (Red Robin is annoying and arrogant). He does the same with Red Robin and Red Hood and gets varying answers that, while somewhat mean, are not enough to break the dynamic between them. Then he gets to Nightwing, who claims (truthfully) that he doesn’t have a favorite or least favorite Robin. The villain is displeased with this so they start to come up different questions to try and start an argument between the boys.
Eventually the villain asks “Which Robin is closest to the original? Closest to your Robin? Which one reminds you the most of yourself?”. Dick tries to fight the serum for a while, before finally biting out “The fourth one.” They all turn to look at Damian, and the villain scrunches up his brows, asking “Him? Really?” It was somewhat of a rhetorical question but Dick is forced to answer anyways. “No, not him. He’s the fifth Robin.” It takes a second before it clicks into place. “The girl Robin? Seriously?? I heard she didn’t even last a week!” Before anything else can be said, Batman busts into the villain’s lair and manages to take him down.
When they get back to the cave, the boys try to question Dick about it, slightly offended by the fact that he considered Stephanie’s Robin to be the most accurate to his. Dick, however, manages to evade them until the serum wears off. Dick himself isn’t quite sure how he can explain it to them. He’s not sure how to tell them that while he’s proud of all the work they’ve done as Robin, he never shared their reasoning for becoming Robin. He’s not sure how to point out the fact that the main reason they got into the vigilante game was for Bruce, not for themselves. He’s not sure how to explain that Robin might’ve been given to them for them to find light and happiness in, but that initially Robin was born from his darkness.
He’s not sure how to tell them that when Bruce told him about Steph, about Spoiler, about how she designed her own suit and went out to stop the man she has a vendetta against, he was so violently reminded of himself that he hung up immediately and didn’t speak to anyone for two days. He’s not sure how to tell them that when Bruce came calling a little while later, telling him about Steph being in-over her head, about him firing her, about her going off on her own only to end up tortured and dead, it was like staring in a mirror of his own relationship with Bruce, and that he’d punched Bruce so hard he’d nearly broken a finger. He’s not sure how to tell them about the quiet nights he stayed up talking with Steph, when Bruce was lost in time and it was just her, Damian, and Alfred around. He’s not sure how to tell them about how when Steph had told him about her relationship with Dean, he’d been reminded of his relationship with Liu so much he’d nearly thrown up. He’s not sure how to tell them that when Dick had opened up about his guilt about what happened in Blüd, Steph hadn’t given him any false placations, and talked about the guilt she felt over her role in the gang wars instead.
He’s not sure how to tell them that while all of them have felt like failures to Bruce, none of them had felt the harsh sting of Bruce ripping Robin away from them, the pain of Bruce telling them how incompetent and unworthy they were as Bruce fires them. He’s not sure how to tell them that while he may their older brother, he was only ever Bruce’s ward. Bruce never adopted him, and despite how far they’ve all come to work as a family, Dick still feels like an outsider sometimes. He knows Steph gets it. She feels like an outsider too.

𝐉𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐎𝐃𝐃 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝑮𝑰𝑹𝑳 𝑫𝑨𝑫 .ᐟ
𓂃 ꒰ headcanons.꒱ gn!reader x jason (est. relationship) + fluff ⌗ ( 💌 let’s chat ! ) ⋆ ( m.list ) ࿐ ⸝⸝ ⸝⸝
· ❥ 𝐚/n : very rushed; i was sick when i wrote this
first & foremost, jason todd is girl dad through and through. the moment he holds her for the first time, he recalibrates everything—speech, sleep, temper, priorities—without even realising he’s doing it.
he won’t dilute language for her sake. no sing-song voice, no “whoops-a-daisy!” crap. he speaks to her like a small, reasonably intelligent civilian. when she babbles near-nonsense in response, he nods seriously:
“interesting take. but you’re still not eating crayons.”
when she starts talking, she parrots him with terrifying accuracy. says “bullshit” in perfect context. he side-eyes you like “that might’ve been you” but it was 100% him. he starts substituting in dumb phrases like “holy fork” and “crud nuggets” which somehow sound even more offensive in his voice.
his gut wrenches every time he sees her hurt. no matter how small the injury, how quick the recovery .
“it’s okay to cry, you know.” “m’ not crying.” she sniffles hard, mouth twitching. he takes a breath, carefully brushing dirt from her elbow with the sleeve of his shirt. “…good. because if you did, i might have to start too.” her bottom lip quivers. then she throws her arms around his neck, sobbing into his shoulder while he holds her.
he gives her choices. always. because no one gave him any. ‘pink cardigan or the baby blue one? park or zoo? sandwiches cut into triangles or squares?’ she doesn’t know why the questions matter—not yet—but she answers anyway. and he always listens. even when she changes her mind five seconds later.
when she gets scared of the monster under her bed, jason grabs a crowbar from the hallway closet, locks himself in her room, and puts on a full performance. loud bangs, snarls, curses, all muffled through the door. she waits outside clutching your hand, wide-eyed. when he opens the door, slightly sweaty:
“we’re clear. monster’s in pieces. bedtime.”
absolutely watches disney movies with her. you once catch him mouthing along to i’ll make a man out of you with perfect accuracy.
her room is stocked full of high quality toys: watercolor paint sets, pop-up books, wooden animal figurines, everything he would’ve killed to touch when he was little.
when she gets sick, even the most minor of colds send jason into a tailspin. not outwardly though; outwardly he’s calm & reassuring—but he looking up symptoms and staying up beside her bed with one hand on her forehead, watching the rise and fall of her breath like it might stop at any second.
if you’re out for the day, he sends you hourly photo updates: her sitting in her booster seat, her eating grapes, her mid-nap with a book across her lap.
insists she learn how to throw a punch and memorize your phone number before she enters kindergarten.
she mirrors his sarcasm & sass too well.
you and jason have developed a “tag-team” parenting style—he picks up on your cues instinctively. if you’re too tired to argue with a picky toddler, he just whips up grilled cheese without a word and makes her think it was your idea.
and if she’s crying—inconsolably so—you both sit beside her and jason lets you do the talking. she always opens up eventually, even if it’s just, “i didn’t wan’ the poor banana to break.” (???)
she looooooves curling into him. a six-o kind of love, paired with matter-of-fact trust. she’ll press her forehead to his cheek while holding her sippy cup. tug at his sleeve when she wants to sit in his lap.
her vocabulary is way beyond her age. not just because of books; she mimics his cadence. jason once commented she was “morally opposed” to cauliflower. days later, she informed the pediatrician she was “philosophically anti-broccoli.” this had you laughing uncontrollably.
bedtime isn’t “lights out,” it’s literature hour! jason reads her stories with perfect enunciation and blunt dignity. she grows up on peter rabbit, winne-the-pooh, madeleine, and eventually segues to aesop’s fables, abridged dickens. the sound of pages turning becomes part of her core memories.
as her vocabulary progresses in a rapid fashion, jason still reads to her every night without fail: brontë. shelley. woolf. austen. he edits on the fly when needed, replacing death with long naps and violence with “stern talking-tos.”
four years of age, your little girl is already quoting jane eyre in front of her classmates.
she wins the spelling bee every year!
she told her entire kindergarten class that her daddy is an actual zombie, which resulted in an email from her teacher, regarding “concerns about her vivid imagination.” jason’s only response is, “technically, that’s not inaccurate.”
she loves all of her uncles, but it’s clear that uncle dick is her favourite. she likes him so much it’s borderline treason. jason pretends to be grumpy about it but secretly finds it endearing how much she adores his brother.
he can’t stand the thought of her going hungry. she’s never missed a meal, but he still packs too much in her lunchbox when it’s his turn. carries snacks in his glove compartment, keeps fruit cut up and ready in the fridge, just in case. he remembers what it felt like to open the fridge and find nothing but condensation. his little girl won’t ever know that.

[Part One] [Part Two] [Part Three] [Finale]
On your way out, you stole Jason’s bike for good measure. You’d never been on a motorcycle without him before, but you couldn’t really bring yourself to care about crashing, and you’d picked up a few things in those long, boring days you were forced to pass watching the Wayne family live their short, dangerous lives. Either way, you’d pretty much gotten the hang of it by the time you crossed the state border.
You couldn’t afford to waste time on sleep. Energy drinks and coffee were enough to keep you awake on an empty stomach. You traded the bike for an ancient junker as you passed through Maryland and again in Washington DC, to a woman you met in a diner named Selina. She was laughing as she handed over the keys to a car nicer than you deserved. Exhausted, starving, and paranoid, you couldn’t quite bring yourself to ask what she found so funny.
Keeping track of Bruce wasn’t hard. Even in the most rural areas, tabloids reported sightings of his private jet religiously, and more reputable magazines stolen off convenience store racks kept you updated on his business trips, in-person deals, and charity events. Batman’s activity lulled, growing sporadic as a laundry list of his b-rated sidekicks attempted to fill the void. You’d give it about a month, maybe two before Gotham devolved violently enough for him to call off the search. It left a bitter taste in your mouth – knowing how willing he was to put the safety of his city aside when it was his peace of mind in danger.
The trip took longer than it had to, mostly because of your stubborn refusal to use any road they so much as might be able to track you on. You spent Jason’s money on gas when you could, food when you had to, and motels when your body threatened to break down if not properly rested. The only time you stopped for longer than a few minutes, it was in a by-the-hour inn on the outskirts of a larger city. You made the mistake of using your real name, of forgetting to barricade your door before collapsing into the creaking, yellowed mattress.
By the time you rolled over, Cassandra was perched on the foot of your bed.
You managed to pretend you were asleep for all of a second before Cassandra turned her head a little too quickly, a little too smoothly, and you were falling out of bed, scrambling to the far wall just to put that much more distance between you and her.
Like an idiot, you’d left your gun in your car. Defenseless and paralyzed, it was all you could do to meet her eyes as she stared you down.
“Is Bruce—”
“In Montreal. Tim thought you might try to cross the border.” Her tone was impassive, and the darkness hid most of her expression. She’d made it here before sunrise, meaning it was still the best time of day to drag someone unwilling back to somewhere they didn’t want to be. “Not happy. Jason is…”
She trailed off. You tried to fill in the gaps. “Jason is alive?”
The beat of silence that followed made it clear that wouldn’t have been her choice of words. Still, she nodded. “Alive. Angry. Dick, too.”
Your mind was a haven for contradictory thoughts. That was terrible. That was great. The guilt was practically eating you alive. You hope they both spent the rest of their lives as miserable as they made you.
“Do you hate us?”
Last time she’d asked, Stephanie had been there to answer for you, to smooth over any worries with chirped platitudes and easy humor. Now, the question hung in the air. You let your gaze fall to the ground.
“I can’t go back.” Your voice sounded hollow. “I can’t be forced to do something that’ll break me, again and again. I won’t let myself live like that.”
Cassandra hummed. You heard the mattress creak, her feet pad against the carpeted floor. “You should leave. Dick will be here in…” She paused. “Soon. He’ll be here soon.”
You didn’t bother responding. It took you long, precious second to skirt around the edges of the room, careful never to get within arm’s reach of her. You were behind the wheel before the adrenaline faded. Cassandra watched from the doorway, her eyes locked on your vehicle until you were too far to track.
~
You arrived in Kanas not long after. The farmhouse wasn’t hard to find, if a little out of your way. You only had to knock twice before a tall man opened the door, his glasses low on the bridge of his nose.
He smiled when he saw you – that softened, sympathetic type of smile you might pull out when you find an abandoned kitten or a stray dog. You could understand why. You looked like shit. The motel room had been your last stop. That was two days ago, now.
“Sorry to bother you,” you offered, clinging to your last few scraps of decency. “Are you Superman?”
“Clark,” he corrected hastily. Didn’t deny it, though. “And you’re Bruce’s…?”
Your abject horror must’ve been apparent. He rushed to apologize. “Sorry, sorry, I—uh, I recognize your heartbeat. He used to tap it out during League meetings.”
If you’d had anything in your stomach, you might’ve felt sick. “Is your wife home?”
“We were just about to sit down for dinner.” And then, all Southern manners and country charm, “Care to join us?”
You gave yourself thirty minutes. Fifteen to eat, ten to show their youngest son (and, by association, the grumpy teenager pretending not to watch) a magic trick you’d learned in college, and five to pull Lois aside and recite all the Wayne Enterprise passwords, back-doors, and poorly encrypted private forums you knew. You tried to make a hasty escape, but Clark caught you by the shoulder, asked about the rest of your trip, mentioned that their guestroom could use some company. It didn’t seem like he was willing to take no for an answer.
For the first time since leaving Jason’s apartment, you got eight beautiful, heavenly, uninterrupted hours of dreamless sleep. The Kents’ shower was similarly orgasmic, and you savored every second you spent under the scalding hot water, secure in the knowledge that the only door was well and truly locked.
All good things had to come to an end eventually, though. You should’ve known that by now.
Your paradise cracked and broke open the moment you stepped out of the bathroom. Leaning against the bedroom door, jaw set and eyes narrowed, was Dick.
In hindsight, you could only be thankful he was alone.
He was blocking the only exit – obviously, obviously. Screaming never occurred to you. Instead, you lunged for the gun on your bedside table, and he let you, never once moving to get in your way. It was until you had a finger on the trigger that he stepped toward you, closing the distance before you could think to shoot.
“Do it.” A fist curled around the barrel, a tug forward. He pressed the muzzle to his chest, and you felt your hands begin to shake. “You left Jason with lead under his skin. You gave him something to remember you by. Were the rest of us not worth it? Was he the only one you could stand to have thinking about you?”
“I never wanted to hurt anyone.” It was true. You still didn’t, if you were being honest. You didn’t want to spend the rest of your life living under the weight of one more thing Bruce and his fucked-up family pushed you to. “Please, let—”
“You think this doesn’t fucking hurt?” He was raising his voice, now. Cassandra was right. You’d never seen him angrier. “We were going to get married, sweetheart. We were going to leave together. Now Bruce doesn’t want us so much as saying your name and you—” He stopped suddenly, shaking his head. “No, no, that’s not your fault. None of this is. You were scared, right? Jason scared you. You felt like it wasn’t safe to wait for me, and—”
“Dick,” you cut in, tone warning. “I left because I had to. And you need to—”
“—take you home, I know.” His hand flexed around your gun. The ghost of a smile passed over his blank expression, but it wasn’t enough to dull his anger. “Where the others can’t bother us. But they’re going to come looking, aren’t they? We’ll need something to keep them away, to show them we’re in love.”
His hand dropped lower, the other darting up. He cupped your hands in his over the grip, hold tight enough to bruise. “Let’s have a—”
There was a blur of movement, then the sound of something blunt hitting something solid. One second, Dick stood in front of you, and the next, he was crumpled on the ground, unconscious and hair matted with blood. The grumpy teenager, Conner, stood in his place, fist still raised just above where Dick’s head would’ve been.
“Sorry about that, ma’am. There’s a change of clothes for you in the kitchen – Lois’ stuff. Clark managed to get the tracker off of your car, too. Along with most of the rear bumper.” His attention fell back to Dick. “What a freak. Want me to…?”
He made a vague gesture, something involving his eyes and Dick’s crotch. You considered it for a second, but shook your head. “No, I just—I just need a couple more days to get where I’m going. Do you think you can keep him here, or… I don’t know, send him in the wrong direction?”
Conner grinned. “Oh, I can make sure he stays put.”
He threw you a two-finger salute, and you returned the gesture. A few miles down the road, you changed into Lois’ hand-me-downs, throwing out the clothes from Bruce’s wardrobe in a gas-station dumpster. You felt lighter, like you’d gotten rid of the last remnants of him. You felt more like yourself.
You felt better.
~
You didn’t stop again until you reached California. You ditched your car in a public parking lot and spent the rest of Jason’s cash on a train into Gateway City.
The air smelled like rain, salt, and fresh paint. You walked the streets for hours before you found the apartment complex you were looking for, and lingered in the lobby for another forty-five minutes before you saw her – black hair, blue eyes, weathered tan. She looked like she had someplace to be, all neutral focus and quiet intensity, but she paused when she saw you tentatively approaching.
She waited for you to speak, despite how long it took you to swallow your nerves. “Dr. Diana Prince?” She nodded curtly, and you tried not to choke on your own relief. “I’m from Gotham. Wayne Manor, specifically.”
“I know. Kent called ahead.”
How he’d known to, you couldn’t imagine. You’d told him you were going to the North Pole. “I was hoping we’d get a chance to talk. Privately. I have something I’d like to ask you for.”
Something flashed across her expression. Curiosity, maybe. Interest. “It’ll have be quick. I have to be at the docks in a few minutes.”
You couldn’t bite back your smile. “Trying something new?”
“Heading home, actually.” She turned to face you properly. “It’s a quaint little island. They’re very welcoming to travelers, but compared to someplace like Gotham, I’m afraid you won’t find much to do.”
“I think I’ve had enough of Gotham, for a while.” You were beaming, now. You dug your teeth into your cheek, doing your best to keep your cool. “That is, if you’re willing to put up with a guest?”
For the first time, she returned your smile. You did your best to be objective, to be wary, to be careful, but if there were any fangs behind her lips, any desire to make you into anything you weren’t in her eyes, you couldn’t find it.
Honestly, when you looked at her, all you could seem to feel was safe.
“It would be my pleasure.”

Zoeystery headcanons ✧ KPOP Demon Hunters ✧ Zoey x Mystery

✧ ultimate yapper girl x listener boy
✧ He thought she was cute the moment he saw her bouncing her shoulders to soda pop while Rumi and Mira glared at her
✧ he’s not shy, just quiet. he just isn’t used to being human, and it tires him out a lot more than the others.
✧ He slowly feels like he’s actually relearning his humanity with Zoey, not just going through the motions of a human life like he had felt doing the idol thing
✧ Zoey gets anxious that people aren’t listening to her if they get too quiet. She’s used to being mid-ramble, asking a question, and not getting a response because the person tuned out and she didn’t realize
✧ after the first time she asks Mystery if he’s listening, he starts letting out noises of acknowledgement to reassure her while she’s talking so she doesn’t have to lose her train of thought
✧ he wants her to know that he’s listening very intently, and will sometimes even just say it out loud when he doesn’t have a better comment to make
✧ Zoey thinks it’s adorable, and she slowly feels less and less uncomfortable rambling for hours about television or animals or the songs she wanted to write
✧ She eventually just naturally stops apologizing for rambling or being too over the top, to him and to other people
✧ He starts getting better at conversations, but only with her. He asks social questions he used to think were stupid or boring or useless, because she’s the only one whose answers he actually wants to hear
✧ Mystery remembers nothing from his actual life on earth before the demon realm, and that doesn’t change even as he gets more comfortable as a ‘human’
✧ He couldn’t care less. He outright tells Zoey that it “leaves more room in my brain for the memories we make”
✧ she has to excuse herself from the room for a moment and yell into a pillow about how cute he is
✧ He can hear her doing it. when she comes back with a notebook he’s smiling wider than she thought he was even capable of
✧ she sits him down and they make a bucket list of everything she can think of that she considers “necessary to the human experience”, no matter how small
✧ she feels bad about being *excited* over his amnesia, but she can’t help but chatter about how she was going to be ‘introducing him to all this new stuff!’
✧ items on this list include but are not limited to; seeing the ocean in person, finding a really cool rock that you wanna keep forever, going to the bathhouse, and spending an entire day on the couch
✧ Mystery doesn’t really see what’s interesting about any of it, but he agrees because he wants Zoey to go with him
✧ He likes it, mostly because *she* likes it. He could be literally stranded in the arctic, if Zoey was finding a way to have fun he would be able to do it too. His number one idea of ‘fun’ is just… being around her.
✧ Mystery constantly wants to have Zoey on his lap/between his legs/sitting in literally any position where he can wrap his entire body around her from behind and rest his chin on her shoulder.
✧ he falls asleep like this fairly often. Zoey calls him her weighted blanket
✧ in general they both sleep a lot, they take afternoon naps together almost every day
✧ After enough time he’s got basically everything human down besides the ‘not barking at people who get too close to Zoey for his comfort’
✧ that one is an active choice. He has absolutely no intention of stopping that one
✧ bad saja boy became bad Mystery fairly quickly
✧ He pouts every time she says it. At first she felt bad about it, but eventually she started to find it cute
✧ he’ll sit with his head in her lap while she writes lyrics. She’s always patting his head and playing with his hair while mumbling about how soft it is.
✧ one day he realizes the whole time she’s been avoiding his bangs, and he grabs her hand and moves them away himself so she can see his face when she isn’t actively trying to kill him
✧ “You already know what I look like. I don’t care. If it’s just you.”
✧ She’s so giddy she grabs him and kisses him for the first time, and they’re both a little shocked by it
✧ it was the first time she saw him blush and she immediately became determined to make him do it as much as possible.
✧ She already has a notebook of things he likes and dislikes so she can remember (she has ones for Rumi and Mira too obvi)
✧ she adds a section to Mystery’s for things that make him blush
✧ she’s studying this guy like a bug and he secretly likes it
✧ He keeps the bangs cause most of the time he’s just so unable to control his own facial expressions that he would probably get into a fight in public
✧ but he starts pinning them back when he’s with Zoey

your tutor of marital propriety!satoru teaches you how to kiss.
a/n: perchance i ever expand this into a full oneshot… who do you all think should be the poor, oblivious betrothed of our princess? they will, of course, be embarrassingly, spectacularly cucked. please choose wisely 🫶🏻
you are stubborn. painfully, deliciously stubborn. that is the first thing satoru realizes the moment you stand before him in the empty antechamber, the silken weight of your skirts set stiff with pride, chin tilted in regal defiance. as though you might ward him off with your sharpened glower, as though you could command him to yield with the simple arch of your brow.
it thrills him. it always has. it coils in his chest, sweet and intoxicating, the memory of you haunting him since that spring banquet so long ago. the stubborn line of your jaw. the proud tilt of your head. the way you walked amongst nobles as if you were already their sovereign, despite the heavy chains of tradition looped around your wrists.
“why must i learn these things from you?”
your voice is taut, every syllable wrapped in distaste, your lips pressed together in a line he has longed to unravel since that day. you were but a young thing then, trailing dutifully behind your father, cloaked in silks and privilege, precious and untouchable—but impossible to ignore. you had not spared him more than a glance, and yet he had seared you into memory: the bold set of your shoulders, the fire in your gaze, the quiet defiance you wore like a crown among a den of wolves.
he had wanted you even then. had wondered how your lips might tremble beneath his teeth. had dreamed of the sounds you would make if cornered just right. had yearned to break past the polished veneer of your courtly manners and drag forth the unguarded version of you. the one who would tremble beneath his hands.
“because, princess,” he answers, letting the honorific drip like sweetened wine, “i am the only one who is qualified.”
he allows his words to linger, stepping closer with the measured gait of a man who knows he will not be refused. your shoulders tense beneath the weight of his stare, and he savors the knowledge that you cannot help but react to him. it curls warm and heady in his chest, a delicious pressure that presses against his ribs, urging him to take more.
“you have lived your life tucked safely within these gilded halls. your intended hails from a distant empire, where the expectations placed upon a wife are foreign to you. i was schooled there. i know their customs. i know the ways of their court.”
his tone is soft, the cadence easy, as if he does not mean to ensnare you. but he does. he has been weaving this web from the moment the king appointed him your instructor, the moment he realized he would have you within his reach, day after day, lesson upon lesson. he smiles, slow and deliberate, as a pale lock of hair slips to graze his cheek, his glacial eyes sinking into yours with practiced precision, carefully adjusted over years of quiet longing.
“unless, of course,” his voice drops, a velvet thread tightening around your ribs, “you would prefer to learn these things from another man?”
his question strikes you cleanly, his satisfaction blooming as he watches the slightest movement of your throat, the smallest quiver in your composure. you loathe him. but beneath that loathing, there is the shimmer of curiosity, the reluctant awareness that what he offers you is necessary. you are no fool. you know what awaits you. and satoru—the silver-haired heir to the northern dukedom, all silk and poison—holds the key.
“fine,” you snap, as though the concession scalds your tongue. “but you will not kiss me as though you mean it.”
his lips curl, slow and amused, as though your stipulation is a game he is eager to play, a rule he has no intention of following.
“of course, your highness. i would never presume.”
it is a lie.
he approaches with deliberate steps, each echoing click of his polished boots measured and slow, the faint trace of his cologne arriving before his touch. you flinch as he raises his hand, but he merely tucks a loose strand behind your ear, the brush of his gloved fingers grazing your temple, lingering far too long, savoring the softness of you beneath his leather.
“relax,” he murmurs, savoring the tremble that dances through you. “it would not do for you to be so tense when your husband-to-be touches you.”
“i would prefer he never touch me at all,” you bite, though your voice falters when his hand settles beneath your chin, his thumb pressing delicately against the stubborn line of your jaw. you try to sound strong, but the frantic pulse beneath your skin betrays you. your pride burns bright, but your body does not yet know how to resist him.
“ah, but he will.”
his gaze dips to your lips, his breath faltering—just once. it is the only fracture in his composure he permits himself. he has envisioned this too many times: the softness of your mouth, the fire in your eyes as you surrender piece by reluctant piece.
“part your lips,” he whispers, his thumb coaxing, circling lazily across the seam of your mouth. “good girl.”
your eyes flash, your pride bristling at the endearment, but you obey. you do not pull away. you tremble, uncertain, your hands fluttering at your sides, unsure of where to land. his chest swells with triumph at your hesitation, the subtle fracture in your resolve.
“this is merely a lesson,” he reminds you, his voice low and reverent, his thumb never leaving your lips. “nothing more.”
it is the sweetest, most exquisite lie he has ever told.
he lowers his head slowly, relishing the soft tremble of your lashes, the way your breath catches when his lips brush yours—a fleeting touch at first, no more than a whisper. his hand slides to the nape of your neck, drawing you firmly into him as he deepens the kiss—greedy, voracious, as though he might consume you whole.
his tongue prods at the seam of your lips, insistent, until you—hesitant, trembling—allow him entry, still clumsy, still learning, but so unbearably eager despite yourself. you taste of sweet spring wine, stubborn pride, and something wholly forbidden. satoru groans into your mouth, a low, guttural sound that spills from him unchecked, ragged and desperate.
he had meant to teach you restraint. to guide you carefully. but instead he devours you—his lips slanting over yours again and again, his tongue tangling with yours in wet, breathless strokes, his hunger plain and shameless. each sound, slick and obscene, echoes in the chamber, every beat of his heart a thunderous ache beneath his ribs.
his other hand drifts to your waist, his fingers curling into the rich fabric of your gown, anchoring you as though he might leave his mark upon your skin. his teeth catch at your lower lip, drawing a startled gasp that he drinks greedily, desperate for more, desperate to swallow every breath that escapes you.
his hands explore the curve of your waist, the subtle dip of your spine, the quickened pulse that flutters beneath his touch. he grips you harder, more desperately, as though terrified that you might slip through his fingers and vanish. his palms burn against the thin barrier of your gown, his thumb pressing firmer, as though imprinting his touch upon your flesh.
he is drowning in you. intoxicated by the soft, shaky moan that tumbles from your throat when his fingers trail the delicate column of your neck, tangling briefly in your hair before settling possessively at your nape. his breathing is ragged, his lips returning to yours with renewed frenzy, unwilling to part, unwilling to yield, until the burning in his lungs forces him to relent—and even then, he hovers, his mouth brushing yours, his breath mingling with yours as if the mere inches between you are too cruel to bear.
his kiss drags on—a feverish, hungry thing—until the heat beneath your skin leaves you swaying against him, your balance teetering, your hands fisted weakly in the fabric of his coat. he presses forward, guiding you with slow, suffocating steps until your back meets the cool stone wall of the chamber, caging you with his body as though you belong there, as though you were made to fit within the curve of his arms.
his lips leave yours only to trail down the curve of your jaw, pressing firm, open-mouthed kisses to the delicate skin there, his teeth grazing, biting, soothing with the sweep of his tongue as though tasting every inch of you he dares to touch. his breath is hot against your skin, his hands skimming the sides of your bodice, sliding up to your ribs with a bruising grip that makes you shudder and arch involuntarily against him.
he kisses the hollow beneath your ear, his tongue darting out to taste the faint sheen of sweat gathered there, his teeth scraping, dragging a whimper from you that shatters whatever pitiful defense you might have clung to.
“you are learning so quickly,” he breathes, his voice a ragged whisper, a dangerous spark alight in his gaze, the fragile leash on his composure long since abandoned. “perhaps we should practice more often. again. and again.”
“satoru—”
your protest is weak, your breath shattered, your lips swollen and glistening with the evidence of his touch. your hands cling feebly to the front of his coat, suspended between resistance and reluctant longing, the last embers of your defiance flickering beneath the haze he has woven around you. your legs are trembling, your heart stumbling in your chest, uncertain whether to fight him or to follow him.
“shh,” he soothes, pressing another kiss to your trembling mouth, softer now, but still steeped in possession, as though he might claim you with the gentle weight of it. “you need not thank me, princess. your education is my duty, after all.”
when he finally pulls away, a string of saliva clings between your lips and his, glimmering and obscene, refusing to part until he brushes his thumb across your lower lip, smearing the dampness he left behind with slow, reverent strokes, as if to etch the taste of you into his skin.
he drinks in the sight of you—disheveled, flushed, the rapid rise and fall of your chest betraying the storm beneath your proud facade. his hunger sharpens, solidifies, anchoring itself deep within him, feeding a yearning he has long since ceased trying to temper.
his thumb drags once more across your lip, slow, lingering, as if he cannot bear to let even this fleeting touch go. he leans in, pressing a final kiss to your chin, to the corner of your mouth, as though marking you in all the places he has yet to claim.
“we shall continue tomorrow,” he whispers, a promise, a decree, as though you already belong to him. he speaks it like a vow. like a threat.
for he will not let you go. not now. not ever.

MINORS AND AGELESS BLOGS DNI!!!

SATORU GOJO
acting a fool is an understatement
Satoru is terrible at the art of subtlety, and to most, making one’s intentions blatantly clear to the person they’re interested in might seem mortifying. But that’s been Satoru’s goal since the start. Those lingering touches, the flirtatious glances and suggestive comments were all done in stride, after all, he takes pride in the fact that he’s getting what he wants. You, however, have been the hardest shell to crack. So, naturally, he’s utterly whipped.
He can hardly believe his luck when you choose to reciprocate after months of cat and mouse, and he has no choice but to lay out all of his chips and double down.
For someone who was raised to be a gentleman, he sure does know how to get your clothes on the floor without any manners at all. As soon as you’re blessing him, deepening the kiss, his wandering hands are tugging at your blouse for permission to show you how much he’ll work for it.
“Isn’t this a treat?” He pants humorously between thrusts, fucking into you like he’ll know he’ll find the answers to all of his intrusive questions regarding you if he just gets an inch or two deeper. Satoru hisses as you tighten around him, “You gonna keep talking or are you gonna fuck me harder?” you snicker. And you should know that there’s nothing Satoru loves more than a good challenge; getting you like this wasn’t the challenge he’d most anticipated, no, it was making you crave it just as much as he did.
“Is that an invitation?” He asks, a big grin twisting at the corners of his lips while he inches a hand down to thumb teasingly at your clit, “You know, I’ve been thinking about you saying that for a while now, don’t you?” In spite of his stamina, Satoru’s breath is ragged and shaky, could it be that he was even a bit…nervous? You didn’t have the time to put much thought into it before his hips speed up, knocking every one of those pretty suspicions out of your head for the time being. Your eyes roll back and you swear you can hear a triumphant little huff of a laugh from him as he takes that as inspiration to roughen the circles he’s drawing against your clit.
“I’ve been thinking about what you’d sound like when you cum, too,” he admits without a shred of shame, nosing into the tender column of your throat so you can hear him better, “Can I hear?” “Fuck!” Is all you can manage through a strangled cry, clawing at the shifting muscles of his back in a futile attempt to ground yourself. “C’mon, I can tell you’re getting close,” he rasps madly, “I wanna hear you.” He begs, suddenly licking a greedy stripe along the dampened skin of your neck.
And who are you to deny him? You cry out a declaration of your sudden orgasm, features squeezed and mouth parted as you struggle to catch your breath. Satoru stares at you with widened eyes, and a stuttered breath, “Hah-...” He hadn’t even realized how close he’d been getting to spilling inside you, but welcomed the overwhelming feeling with open arms. He could go for five more rounds if you’d let him, anyways.
God, this must be what it’s like to hit the jackpot.
SUGURU GETO
nonchalant (acting a fool)
Suguru can’t lie to himself and pretend like he hadn’t imagined this scenario too many times to count before, usually as a desperate last resort when he’d found he can’t imagine getting off to anything other than the thought of you at a certain point. He’s sure that he’s a better man than this, and he’d certainly tried to be courteous and discrete about the way you make him feel, shying away from the line he’s been dreaming to cross.
But now, sitting up on the mattress and unable to tear his eyes away from your tits, he realizes that he’d been overshooting the strength of his own resolve. Suguru surges forward, taking one in his mouth as he guides you up and down his length, doing anything he can to prove he’s still being normal about this. Fuck it.
“Fuck,” he moans against your chest, “wait a minute-...” You still your movements, tilting your head curiously at him as he swallows breathlessly, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” He quickly reassures with a shake of his head, gently squeezing at your hips to punctuate the promise, “God, nothing’s wrong at all, I just need-...let me eat you out. Please?” You blink at him in surprise, placing a hand on his shoulder, “Huh?”
“Seriously, I-...” He shakes his head, gazing up at you like you’re the most wonderful thing he’d ever seen, “it’s all I’ve been thinking about.”
During those moments in the past in which he found himself fucking his fist to the thought of you, he only ever found himself relishing in the idea of burying himself between your legs and making careful sure that the only thing you’d be capable of saying was his name. The both of you had been too hasty in the wake of realizing your feelings were reciprocated, too desperate to give each other everything you’d been dreaming of. It feels like the heavens have opened up before him as you slip off of his lap, letting him situate you against the pillows.
Suguru’s methodic in the way he trails warm kisses down your body, stopping to suck a mark into your hip, but he can’t tease for too long, not when he probably wants to get you off on his tongue more than you want it (which is saying a lot).
He kisses your bare cunt gratefully, before dragging his tongue against your entrance, eyelids already going heavy as he slips into a euphoric trance. Suguru tries his very hardest to keen on every noise you make, every cry of his name, but it’s hard to do that when he’s getting so drunk off the flavor of you. He’s suddenly starved, devouring you completely, too far gone to be embarrassed of the way he shakes his head against your pussy or moans just as loud as you do.
Geto’s suspicions had been utterly correct. While he’s been eager to have you like he did moments before, to feel you wrap around him and to fuck up into you with calculated thrusts, this definitely takes the cake. He grows dizzy off your scent, grinding against the mattress to prevent himself from further losing his mind over the prospect of what he’s doing right now.
You lace your hands through his hair, pulling at it as he brings you closer to the edge. This is all he needs, he thinks, he can easily be fine spending the rest of his life like this. Suguru wants to prove that much over and over again to you, and he won’t hesitate if you’ll let him. “You’re perfect.” He mumbles against your cunt, and he’s partially glad you’re too far gone to hear some of the pathetic remarks he’s uttering, “Need this so bad.”
Yeah, good luck hopping back on his dick anytime soon now that he knows he was right about how addicting you’d be.
KENTO NANAMI
nonchalant by a thread
It’s easy for Kento to have steel-grade self control when you’re fully clothed and the conversation is tame. But when clothes are taken out of the equation, well, that’s a different story. That being said, he won’t forget his manners.
You’re in a tender mating press, smiling softly at the sweet kisses Nanami keeps peppering across your face, and occasionally one to your lips. He briefly wonders why he ever thought it was a good idea to hesitate in taking the initiative to have you laid out against his pillows like this, moaning his name almost as if you knew how much that chipped away at his own self-preservation. You’re dangerously close to getting him to embarrass himself.
“Do you like this?” He breathes against the shell of your ear as his pace speeds up a bit, knocking the wind out of you. Regardless, you nod, hardly able to wrap your lips around anything other than the shape of his name. Kento bites his lip, fighting the urge to go even faster. This was your first time together, after all, he’d be mad not to cherish it like something fleeting and sacred. He wants more, he wants this all the time, and he’s so close to begging you for it. In some last attempt of self-preservation, he utters, “You feel amazing,” almost choking on his breath after the fact.
“Fuck, keep doing that.” You cry out, throwing your head back to give him a clear view of your throat that he so desperately wishes to mark up. He almost asked what you meant, before he peers down, realizing he’d mindlessly begun rubbing circles into your clit. Kento feels like he’s getting ahead of himself, yet not doing enough at the same time; this feeling is so foreign and overwhelming, but he’s falling in love with it.
Following your orders, he continues his steady pace on your clit, mouth going dry as you tell him how close you are. Yes, please, that’s all I want to hear.
“Please,” he murmurs in a gravelly voice, not realizing he’d started voicing his own thoughts, “cum for me.” Nanami is certain he’s going to lose control any moment, and he’s sure that you cumming around his cock is not going to help him at all in his hope to still be a gentleman to you. It’s alright, though, he thinks. If he’s going to embarrass himself, lose all resolve and allow himself to drown in this simple pleasure, Kento doesn’t think he’d want to do it with anyone else but you.

Omgg hii did you see the outside mv?? Riki looked exquisite actually 😋😋 so I was thinking maybe boxer bf riki 🫣🤭
🌺 — YESSSS I DID SEE IT. he looked so scrumptious, goodbye. anyways, i hope u like this!! typed it up before crashing in my bed lol.

BOXER!RIKI AS YOUR BF
𝑛𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑚𝑢𝑟𝑎 𝑟𝑖𝑘𝑖 x f. reader romance fluff kisses 𝑝𝑒𝑡𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝗐𝖼. 298 ─── 𝑚𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑐𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑒
you walk into the small studio, hearing a few grunts and hits at the punching bag. riki was there in the ring as you rounded the corner, watching him block his face with the boxing gloves, dodging as if the punching bag were his opponent.
his tank clung to him, his arms flexing with every blow. you were hypnotized.
he almost didn’t notice you. until he turned to grab his water.
“oh— hey, baby,” he flashed a grin, walking over to the ring ropes and crouching down to your level.
“hi,” you replied bashfully, your cheeks burning from how hard you bit back your smile.
he leaned down to kiss the corner of your lips and then pressed one on top of them.
“i missed you, it’s been ages,” he mumbled.
you giggle, “it’s been four hours, riki.”
“four hours too long,” he scoffed, taking a sip of his water, some of it escaping the bottle and dribbling down his chin.
you shake your head in amusement, watching as he climbed out of the ring to finally stand in front of you properly.
“so, when will i see you at one of my matches?” his hands found your waist, squeezing as he brought you closer to him.
“mm, i don’t know,” you shrug. “those things scare me, ki.”
“why?” he chuckled.
“‘cause i don’t like seeing you all bruised up and bleeding!” you shove his chest lightly. you didn’t know why he was even asking that question. it’s not like he didn’t know your answer.
“babe, we go over this every time. i’m fine! it’s all for fun.” he pecked the top of your head.
“so you like getting beat up for fun?” you grumbled rhetorically, causing him to snicker.
“well, when you put it like that..”
“exactly.”

This would be used in addition to the danny phantom tag, turning it into a true umbrella tag for everything related to Danny Phantom, while having a few major sub-tags for people to find exactly what they want.
---
After some more discussion with members of the fandom in the notes of my poll asking about a community and elsewhere, it seems like the better option for everyone might actually be a new tag, so I'm making a new poll here!
Some answers to questions I think people might have are below the readmore:
Q: Why are all of these only one word?
A: For the same reason the dpxdc tag is only one word! Tumblr's tagging implementation is Not Good. Tags with spaces don't play well with it, and especially don't play well with blocked tags. If someone wants to block non-crossover Danny Phantom content, we want to make it as painless as possible for them.
Q: What issues were raised around communities?
A: A few! To name some of them:
Limited interactions with posts: Communities only let you react with emoji and leave comments on posts reblogged into them. Not great, if we want to have long reblog chains riffing on one another
Original Posters aren't notified if someone else reblogs their post into a community, even if it's public. So if someone reblogged your post into the community for you, you wouldn't know about it -- or know to look for people interacting with it.
Communities have mods, and therefore would need trustworthy, engaged mods to make it work. Over a short time frame, we could probably manage it! But over a longer one, a community for an entire fandom would probably have moderator drama. That could lead to fracturing, or people leaving specifically because they don't like the mods, etc. A tag is a lot less active maintenance.
A few people also expressed a general dislike for the feature, even if they were willing to move to one. This seems like a much smaller change that will let those people stay away from a feature they don't like, while interacting with the content they do.
Q: What about less-common crossovers? Won't those get excluded from this tag?
A: They will. I'm asking about this poll first because I figured getting the community to make a decision about the other crossovers would be easier if we'd already decided on the non-crossovers.
The current idea is to move those to their own tag as well, so they can get dedicated attention from the crossover enthusiasts who love them. One of the people I talked to about this runs the niche-dp-crossovers blog, so it's on the radar. If you have concerns or suggestions about that, the notes on this post is as good a place as any to suggest them!

More random ZoeYstery HCs ✧ KPOP demon hunters ✧ Zoey x Mystery

✧ They’re a little codependent but the sprinkles of toxicity are mutual so it cancels out
✧ Mystery never wants to go anywhere if Zoe isn’t going. He goes to social stuff because she goes and he wants to spend time with her.
✧ Zoey will still go to things on her own sometimes, leaving Mystery to hangout at home, but she spends a lot of time on her phone texting him and always leaves earlier than she would have if Mystery was with her
✧ This is entirely her choice, not once has he ever asked her to come home or complained about her going out. She just misses him extra hard sometimes and finds herself getting bored way faster when he isn’t around
✧ If it was up to either of them, they’d be together literally all of the time.
✧ They can’t actually do that, so he just follows her everywhere like a puppy on an invisible leash as much as he can
✧ He can see perfectly fine through his bangs (demon logic) but he still has a habit of running into things as if he couldn’t. Poles, signs, corners, fire hydrants. He’s surprisingly clumsy
✧ that’s because he doesn’t look where he’s going. he stares at Zoey instead
✧ totally worth it to him, especially the times when Zoey would start fawning over the possibility of him being hurt
✧ ‘a girlfriend wants a boyfriend who she can turn her brain off around’ except Mystery is the girlfriend
✧ He’s sorta an airhead, he’s ignorant to a lot of things that humans would think of as common knowledge
✧ Mystery thinks Zoey is the smartest person in the entire world and he says it a lot
✧ he eventually gets comfortable enough to ask her questions not just about herself, and she answers him with lots of details and excited hand gestures
✧ She’s happy he’s curious about humans in general and happier that he was asking her.
✧ In reality he’s still just curious about her and not all humans. No other ones, really. Maybe the rest of Huntrix, barely. he could handle her friends because they were extensions of Zoey.
✧ he was asking about topics he remembered her mention before in conversation.
✧ Zoey forgets what stories she’s told and what conversations she’s had with what people, so it doesn’t really click together that she just happens to know at least a little bit about pretty much about everything he asks
✧ he’s not doing it with manipulative intentions. Dude just genuinely could not care less about anything if he can’t play ‘seven degrees of Zoey Huntrix’ with it
✧ He compliments her multiple times a day, usually just blurting out something he was thinking as opposed to any sort of setup or cute delivery. In his eyes he’s just saying things that are true, but Zoey always giggles and thanks him anyways
✧ His deadpan tone and complete lack of awareness, in Zoey’s eyes, is a cute delivery
✧ Zoey is a crazy good baker. Mystery will hangout in the kitchen with her, sitting down and staying the hell out of her way as she zooms between cupboards
✧ Every so often she stops in front of him, a piece of chocolate or pastry or whatever else she was messing around with pinched between her fingers, and pops it in his mouth for a taste test
✧ He’s never any help when she’s trying to figure something out, but Zoey already knows that. She’s not expecting critique, she just gets all giddy seeing him smile and say it’s yummy when he tastes it
✧ where Jinu never lets Rumi see his demonic eyes, Mystery is exactly the opposite with Zoey
✧ When they’re at home, even after he’s started pinning up his bangs, he only ever has bright amber eyes with cat-like pupils
✧ Mystery has nothing but his demon form in his past, and as much as he didn’t care, sometimes he wondered what Zoey thought. If she ever remembered he was a demon when she was alone and recoiled at the thought of his ‘real’ form
✧ it’s the first question he’s afraid to ask her, so he doesn’t
✧ One day when she’s laying on top of him on their couch and his eyes are closed, she presses her lips to his eyelid, telling him not to open them as she did the same on the other side
✧ He opened them back up and just raises an eyebrow, and she shrugs back at him and tells him he has pretty eyes
✧ she gets a new thing for her ‘what makes Mystery blush?’ list

Manager in the making!
Ch 2!

Saja boys x human manager reader
You drag these bad boy wannabes to the café next door outside the alley, taking charge to get their demands as soon as possible. Throwing questions at the so-called leader left and right. “Where did you all train?” You open the door to the once quiet space now exploding with whispers on who these hot men are?!
As if off script Jinu answers taking the handle of the door to let the rest of his possie in. “Overseas just a small company you probably haven’t heard of it.” You look at him before glancing down at your phone scrolling through connections to kick start this.
“And you can sing right? Im not being catfished by your lovely looks?” You raise an eyebrow finally putting your phone down to order. Baby wanders over with romance to your side curious about the display of treats and snacks. You glance to the blue haired dead eyed man beside you staring at the display with a bored look before looking up to meet your gaze. Romance leans in with a coy smile his big heart shaped bangs kind of annoying you…those he use a truck of hair gel?
At a snap of Jinus fingers the boys are suddenly posing beside each other before harmonizing. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAFÉ!? You cant help but back away in both horror and bewilderment back meeting the counter. They are good but what the hell!
“Ok! Ok! I believe you! Let these people be.” You hiss out in embarrassment, waving your hands like you were swatting the air to cut them off, could give Arataka Reigan a run for his money. “Im sorry everyone, please go back to your coffee!” Pure exasperation in your voice fumbling to bow down to the people around you, forcing the boys closest to you to bow as well. The unlucky two was yanked down by the collars of their shirts. Mystery starts visibly vibrating trying to escape your grip, this close to biting fingers! Abby scoffed giving jinu a sideways look before grabbing your hand to forcibly remove the hold on his nape. Baby was laughing into his sleeve at the victims of your panic, mystery was starting to bare his teeth at the floor was that a growl you heard?! He was interrupted by Jinu chopping the back of his head with an authoritative look, they had to keep appearances, especially in front of someone he’s going to see every day.
Well they did show you a snippet of their abilities if only it wasn’t in the middle of your semi favorite coffee shop! you buy snacks and steal wifi to watch trash tv here! You straighten up letting go of mystery, shuffling back to the counter to order with a cough.
The barista looks at you with wide eyes full of curiosity and amazement shes seen you before, always in the back on your laptop every other week. Nothing was noteworthy of you other than how you were only their for the free internet and free refills you would drown in creamer. The occasional refresher when you were typing away like a madman a deadline hanging over your head. But to show up with these people trailing behind you? Where you someone important and she didn’t even know? Well looks are deceiving…
She grabs the stylus connected to the ordering tablet, customer service voice coming out full swing! Maybe she can snag a number while you’re here! “Good morning what can I get you all today?”
You look behind you at the boys looking at the menu with curiosity, is this different overseas? No matter you’ll just order for them not like they have a choice not to drink it. “Three hot chocolates and Three coffees please” you glance at the display where romance was eyeing, baby didn’t look very interested in them but romance did. “And one of these please” you hum out pointing to the display before fishing out your wallet.
The barista stopped you with a hand a smile on her face, her focus was no longer on you but the boys behind you. “No worries it’s on the house!” She seemed a little to excited to say that…and eager. The barista motions to her coworkers behind her to get this order ready quick while she bags the treats adding a extra pastry with it. You could see her write on one of the cups with a heart if you strained enough. Pretty bad business ethic if your going to be giving away food and drinks.
Their loss anyways free food for you! You put your wallet away to walk over to the counter for the drinks. The three coffees and three Hot chocolates already ready and piping hot. Grabbing the coffee for yourself, as much as you would love hot chocolate your going to need all the caffeine you can get. Been a good minute since your last all nighter.
The embarrassment crew followed your lead taking the drinks of their choosing. You grab the small bag for pastries pulling out the extra for yourself and handing the other to romance but it was taken by Jinu. Weird Power dynamics they got going on but that’s not your problem right now. Stepping to the side so other people can get their purchases you open your own small bag. It was pretty useless on your part, everyone was busy staring at your group to order, some trying to hide it but their gossiping was a clear give away.
Jinu looked around at all the eyes glued to their “godly” forms if he played his cards right this could be like a promotion for tomorrow. He shares a look with romance and Abby, romance all for the show, Abby not so much if it had to do with their new manager.
Barely had the first bite when Abby grabbed your coffee to bring to his lips. “Hey! You have your own!” You scolded him, attention away from the pastry in hand Abby just gave you a smirk.
“Can’t share?” He says mid gulp while flexing the arm holding your cup. Your pretty sure the shop went more silent than it already was, eagerly watching. Romance leans in from behind your shoulder to bite your pastry suspiciously close to where you bit it. Is your eyes twitching right now? Yeah, it’s definitely twitching. Why are they stealing your food?! Ok calm down you have to think rationally right now. Can’t ruin your chances at a job boost five minutes in.
Romance brings a hand to his mouth to wipe the crumbs with his thumb, looking up to make eye contact with one of the many customers to wink at her. “Sweet..just like you” At that last comment he looks to you from the corner of his eye, The silence broken the girl started squeezing her friend and shaking her back and forth. Poor girl…wait not poor girl, poor you!
Are you in a fucking drama right now?! This isn’t the ouran host club! You push the pastry into his chest no longer wanting it but taking back the coffee from abby. It’s yours and you will fight for it. “J-just sit down!” You pull them outside to the outdoor seating face red with even more embarrassment.
Social anxiety feared these men.
The sit around the flimsy table dragging chairs from other tables to sit in, you can still feel the stares from outside. Sipping your drink you peer up at them most looked content with your embarrassment especially the attention they are getting from it.
Mystery and baby the duo of staring at you with blank faces sat beside you the rest in front. Jinu in the middle straight across from you nursing his hot chocolate. “Ok you guys are great and probably good publicity but really? With me? Don’t you know what a scandal in the idol industry is like? Could ruin your chances before they begin!” You huffed out before groaning into your hand.
“What’s the current place of residence? I’m assuming you have one near by. I need it as your manager. I’ll attach mine with separate contact info by email for emergency’s” Back in business mode and pulling a computer out of your ass. If it’s work related you must have your laptop with you at all times. Got to the point you would mindlessly put the computer bag on before leaving the door, even on well deserved break days.
Baby looks at the screen slightly leaning in you payed him no mind typing away. “Ok you’re the Saja boys. I’m guessing you have a design for your brand since you already have a name?” You hum, looking up from your screen to Jinu pulling a folded paper out of his pocket.
“We actually do have a design for our brand” He replied, sliding the paper across the plastic surface to you. Sweet less work for you then! You take the paper like it was the key to everything from the way he slid it over. Unfolding it to be! Disappointed…what is this crude drawing..? Is that a dog? Or maybe a cat strung out on propane?
“Very nice…and it’s supposed to be?” Can’t judge not everyone is talented at art.
“A lion.” A voice cuts in beside you staring at the same crude drawing. Baby looked up from the paper to Jinu who was so proud of his piece. “That’s supposed to be a lion. Here is what’s supposed to be our brand” He points across the paper giving you a clear picture instead of deciphering this ever so wonderful art.
“Thanks b now that I got a general idea” you voiced setting the paper down beside the laptop. You whip up to the best of your ability the actual concept on photoshop editors or your personal favorite Canva, before turning the screen around. The boys leaned in to see some making the personification of the confused pikachu face. “Is it not to your liking? What do you want to change?”
“No…it’s good” Jinu was the first to talk before baby chimed in. “It’s way better than what you made Jinu” A snort escapes romance and Abby who quickly looked away when Jinu glared at them with a exasperated expression. His drawing couldn’t have been that bad right? Right?!
Before he could retort and shame the two cause they were the one hyping him up on this! A loud scream erupted close by then the next one then around you it was the yelling of excitement. The countdown for the new single HUNTRIX dropped was just at 5 seconds away! You look behind you seeing the screens around the plaza change to the ending of the countdown. Missing the glares and grumbles of the boys beside you Jinu the most prominent, getting the more annoyed by the minute at the interruption.
He claps his hands together getting everyone’s attention especially yours. “I like it! Know what would be better manager? 200 flyers of this. Cause we are singing here. Tomorrow.” His voice was on the brim between irritation and cunning as his eyes swept through the crowd engrossed in the new music video. He will get what he wants. Doesn’t matter if you can’t help him.
“Wait here?” You spit out before sitting up on your seat to look around the main square. Your seeing a vision right now. The big space would be where they would perform! Perfect for view on all sides! Lots of tourists and those trying to unwind flock to places like this. You can put the speakers there! And have a camera there! Your eyes dart around the place clocking different points that would give the advantage.” Oh! I see this place is perfect! I just need to get permits and some licensing but nothing I can’t handle” You seem way to excited for them is this really what you get off on? No not exactly, what you do get off though is kicking your rivals in the face!
Your back to your computer typing away what you could need and planning where lighting should and shouldn’t be. Where the speakers would give the optimal sound spacing. “Send me the song info via email. I’m going to need separate background track and instrumental. How big of a spacing do you need for your dance routine? Actually don’t even answer that I’ll take a educated guess when I case the area.”
“Don’t worry about the money I have you covered…just get us on that reality show everyone loves after” Jinu slides a black card in your direction. Is this real? You pick it up to look at it dismissing how it shimmers a soft purple hue at the flick of the light. Makes you wonder why they would hire you if they had this kind of money? Don’t think about it, it will only ruin the image of success you have in mind.
“Mhm understood I might need to pull some strings but it’s doable...probably .” you pocket the card in your wallet before going back to your computer. “I’ll also order the outfits so send me your address and I’ll drop them off early morning.” You continued on already calculating the expenses and searching through catalogs. “I’ll contact you later tonight to run this through again I need to get some paperwork done.”
Jinu smiled at the way you got so focused, a new project, new opportunity of life. It was so cute. And so pathetic. “I’ll let you know on any changes manager. If you need any assistance don’t be afraid to contact us” With that he gets up his group following his lead, Abby a little too eager to move, baby too busy leaning over to watch you work. Mystery was being mysteriously mysterious…living up to his name that’s for sure. He didn’t move for a moment his face twitching before curling up into a awkward smile. His teeth looked too sharp to be genetics. Your just going to look away….you look back up to where Jinu was standing. Not there.
What…?
You look to your left and then your right, are they crazy fast? Maybe it’s a new trick idols use to get away from paparazzi…No matter you have work to do! Let’s go manager in the making!

good news, OP!
in some of the pedagogical circles i move within, the big discussion around how to educate in the era of AI is... get students to do their work in class. where the educator is accessible for questions. and they can get their outline or draft done and be well on their way to knowing how to finish the essay on their own without panic-turning to AI, and without being up all night.
another strategy that's come up is more creative assessment design and more practical assignments and activities. think making a website instead of writing an essay, or having a 15minute 'interview' with your prof where you pick 3 out of 5 potential questions to answer instead of a written final exam. think in-class activities turned in for completion grades that you get to pick and choose from at the end of term to build a portfolio to write a learning reflection on.
less at-home work outside of class (but still some) and more autonomy over the learning and assessment.
most of the solutions being floated end up bringing learning back into the classroom and making it more engaging and less overwhelming for students, even if no one is necessarily referring to it exactly like that.
like... students are gonna procrastinate, and some of them (those with diagnosed or poorly managed adhd, for example) may end up waiting until the last minute no matter what the prof does. but working around "just get AI to do it" may end up being a positive disruption to higher education.
i completely understand & agree with the backlash against students using chatgpt to get degrees but some of you are out here saying "getting a degree in xyz means pulling multiple consecutive all-nighters and writing essays through debilitating migraines and having severe back pain from constantly studying at your desk and chugging energy drinks until you get a kidney stone and waking up wishing you were dead every day, and that's just part of the natural process of learning!!!" and like. umm. i don't think that any of us should have had to endure that either. like maybe the solution for stopping students from using anti-learning software depends on college institutions making the process of learning actually sustainable on the human body & mind rather than a grueling health-destroying soul-crushing endeavor
#don't get me wrong this transition is rough hahaha#and not all schools and programs are responding well#but it's really interesting to see how good educators and pedagogical practices are evolving#and trying to meet the challenge in a way that supports learners#anyway#you're correct#education shouldn't be punitive#now let's discuss the issue whereby students can't afford their education so are working part or even fulltime while going to school#and that's part of why they don't have time for their studies and put off assignments and outsource to AI#that's a more structural issue we can't even begin to solve in the classroom...#education systems#higher education#education in the era of ai#thank queue for coming
