Tiktok's censorship of words like rape, kill, murder, abortion etc. etc. as well as censoring hard to hear topics, over the past few years has deeply contributed to the sanitisation of the internet and therefore directly resulted in the birth of "fandom purists" and the destruction of old fandom culture (the death of "don't like, don't read", "ship and let ship" mindsets as well as safe spaces for dark and "immoral"/unethical storytelling i.e "dead dove: do not eat") in a way that has fundamentally changed the mindsets of people who are new to fandom spaces and now view these such topics as wildly inappropriate for any social space as well as deeming anyone who is intrigued by them narratively or creatively as "immoral" and a bad person. You know, I have been writing and posting fanfic for over 20 years (hush) and I still get nervous when I dip my toes into a new fandom. In the year of our goddess 2023 I am dipping my toes into Stranger Things/Steddie fic and geez the nerves are there - the 2 fics I've posted have been received well so that's always nice but goodness it's nervewracking

Hey, just wanted to say that I saw people giving you shit for your takes on Gavin and after reading all the replies of the people who hate Gavin, I can honestly say that, from the bottom of my heart that people who hate Gavin are fucking dumb.

Like, I couldn’t honestly believe some of the reasons people legitimately hate Gavin for. I could honestly see the delusion seeping from their every word.

Have to thank them though cause it just cemented that liking Gavin is the right choice.

Please don’t pay them any mind. They clearly have biases and personal issues irl that they are taking out on a fictional character.

Oh don't worry about it, I'm used to being the "controversial" person in fandoms.

Tbh I don't have an issue with someone not liking a character. That's completely normal. But the level of hate I some people have for both Gavin and people who like him... And the arguments they will pull out of their ass... 🤣🤌

So I just finished “The Kwami’s choice” two-parter last night. Apart from wishing Kitty Noir and Scarabella had more screen time, I can’t get over Gabriel’s whole dance routine😂😂that is such a classic villain thing to do.

However, I’m willing to bet Mirror Gabriel has had moments like this as well (although probably spurned by creative inspiration instead of madness.) Of course, it isn’t Nathalie who walks in on him, but probably Adrien, who is very “😐😑😓” about it all. It wouldn’t surprise me if one of two scenarios happened:

Either Gabe is super caught up in the moment and extends a hand all “son! Dance with me!” Which pisses Adrien off because how dare his father act like they haven’t lost a member of their family.

OR the tension between them is unbearable, and Adrien walking in completely kills the mood. They stare at each other, before Adrien shakes his head in disgust and walks away. Gabe is left there feeling very much like a villain, although he doesn’t fully understand why his son sees him in this light and wishes he could help him.
