That was the only thought, which grabbed Jinx's brain, as she witnessed the group of Enforcers marching into the Lanes. They looked similar, yet different to the men on the Bridge. Their gear looked heavier and denser with less exposed skin. Their glasses were so dark that you could see your reflection in them. Their heavy, reinforced boots sent shockwaves through the grounds as they marched through the streets and forced their way into the houses of the fisherfolk.

The screams felt muted for Jinx as she stood there, rigid and terrified. Was those gunshots? What were they looking for? These bodies on the ground... Were they merely passed out or dead? The air smelled of spilt Shimmer and blood. Gunpowder stung in Jinx's nose. Suddenly, she was a little girl and back on the Bridge again. The sky was red, the dust was red, and even the air seemed red. The world seemed full of monsters.

Where was Vi? Vi had been there too! Jinx distinctly remembered her sister's hand around her own. Her voice, calmly speaking: "Cover your eyes, Powder. Keep them closed, no matter what you hear. I promise I will keep you safe. We're gonna find Mum and Dad, okay? Everything is going to be alright." Little children's feet shuffled forward while her hand clenched around Vi's hand, refusing to let go. She had been singing too back then. Vi had told her to sing something, so Mum and Dad could find them.

She didn't have the voice to sing right now. Her body felt clammy and cold and shivering. Her chest hurt and her stomach had dropped so far down, Jinx couldn't unearth it anymore. Swaying around in abject horror, her blue braids trailing behind her and her purple eyes flitting from side to side, Jinx searched for a familiar head of dark magenta hair.

"Vi?", she whispered. Catching sight of the back of someone's head with pink hair - pink hair, pink hair, pink hair! -, Jinx took a chance, darted forward and grabbed a hold of their hand.

Donnie and Raph assemble the wheelchair back together for Leo. And honestly, after being stuck in bed for a week, Leo is super excited to get away from the med bay! On the other hand, Donnie doesn't think he deserves any gratitude for finding the wheelchair pieces. It was his fault Leo was hurt in the first place! Donnie wanted to set things right and fix Leo. Truthfully, it looks like everything would be okay! But... Leo's not out of danger yet.

Now that Leo had a plan, he felt more in control, calmer, and in a better mental state to focus on Superfly. Even so, he couldn't fully grasp what he meant by, "wouldn't need to ask" what did that mean?

Perhaps it was because leo's young brain didn't yet fully master abstract thinking, or perhaps it was his inexperience in battles, or the stressor with his injured brother.

But slowly, he came to the understanding: If this had been Superfly's doing, everyone would've been dead.

Leo looked down at his brother and back at Superfly again, his eyes deepened with concern. It was also hard to grasp if they were safe or not here, alone with Superfly. And as superfly admitted to saving Don, Leo struggled to understand why. It was unbelivable enough that Superfly was back.

"You.." Street rats? A sort of offended look washed over his face. He was raised to speak up on any disrespectful use of that word, which meant almost any use of it. It was a matter of honor, but right now, it was more important to not risk the truce between them.

He began to regret calling Raph, because he assumed Raph would attack without a thought. Surely he'd need to stop Raph, somehow.

"Thank you..?" Leo said. "Look I..I'm confused. And..I'm sorry we couldn't resolve our differences more peacefully. Just..how much do you..remember? You remember us..right?" Leo said. But did he remember Superfly?

Looking up at Superfly, he suddenly had a flashback of being held in that giant claw, and the sound of their cracking shells echoed in his head, louder than what it had been in reality. His chest tightened, and suddenly he was back there, and that giant claw squeezing them tighter, and Superfly's booming voice taunting them in the background.

Leo blinked hard and tried to calm down, and he felt the phantom pain in his shell and limbs, as his body relived the crushing force.

“Leo… hello?” The voice barely registered, distant and muffled.

He didn't even notice that Raphael was there. He had jumped down rooftop and down, between him and Superfly. However, with the way Superfly showed no aggression towards Leo, and by the way Leo was just staring blankly, and with Don there out cold, Raph rushed over to Leo, crouched down next to them. "..heey...?"

Leo flinched, and looked at Raph, who was patting his face. "Man..you really worried me Leo..You were so out of it..Is Don okay?"

"Yeah..Superfly is here..You..didn't attack him did you?" Leo whispered, side-eyeing Superfly.

"Na.." Raph looked over at superfly, throwing his arm out. "Look he's just..—"

“Raph!” Leo cut him off, his voice sharp but anxious. “Before you say or do anything… please. Don’t attack.” He spoke through gritted teeth, trying to keep his tone steady.

"Yea..Hey. Superfly." Raph said and stood up.

"No, wait, Raph." Leo said.

"What happened to you! "Raph continued, walking towards Superfly. "Did you loose your memory or something? What's going on? How are you like..walking around and...looking like..like yourself, huh?"

     AFTER LEO HAS the sense to assist his brother than try to fight the fly, Superfly lingers for a moment as the turtle works the bandage around Donnie’s head before opting to walk past the two of them toward the entrance of the alley. He goes just far enough that he can look around with, hopefully, being spotted himself, keeping an eye out not only for any potential other PD members but also the other members of the turtle quartet. His antennae twitch in agitation at hearing Leo’s retches, and the part of him that’s grown accustomed to scolding those younger than him is tempted to tell him to ‘get a grip,’ but he holds his tongue, thinking better of it. There’s another emergency call to another brother  ( they’re really bringing in the whole cavalry… )  but it’s the 911 call that catches his attention more. Emergency services means humans, and no doubt lots of them. The last thing he needs is to be around THEM. Here’s hoping this business wraps up quickly so that he can avoid such an unpleasant encounter.

     Superfly turns back to Leo upon hearing his inquiry, his expression unreadable. He’s less insulted this time than he was by Donnie’s assumption; after all, Leo wasn’t there to see the fly mutant all but save him from being assaulted further. And it certainly only seemed NATURAL for him to ask Superfly first before assuming anything else.

     “ If I had, you wouldn’t need t’ ask, “ he replies. He’s not quite sure just HOW familiar they were with his…HABITS whenever they were dealing with his guys, but he could safely assume they’d never seen the true levels of BRUTALITY that he was capable of. Because if they had, then they would not have been nearly as STOKED to see him when they first met. But now that they did get to know each other…well, it’s as he said: IT WOULD BE OBVIOUS.

“ Somethin’ beamed ‘im in the back of the head. Thought it’d just leave a bump but clearly it hit him harder than that. Once he started stumblin’, I figured I’d intervene ‘fore one o’ those STREET RATS tried to finish the job. “  …Should he throw in a ‘no offense’ for the term given their dad’s a…?  Ah, forget it. Screw that guy.

Tim, buddy, what do you mean you might had accidentally made a Love Child?!

Danny finds out that

1. He's a clonish 'love child' of two heroes

2. He was accidentally created during one of his donors mental break downs after losing his father and best friends (one of which was his other donor)

3. CW interfered before his creator realized what he made and pulled him out of that dimension because "it would had lead that world to true ruin if he found out at his state of mind. He's better now but it would had been the final straw for him should anything had happened to you in his care and given who he had to partner up with later... I did what I had to."

4. Due to Danny having a bad fall out with his parents after he told them about being Phantom (they didn't attack him... but they did disown him.) Danny is left adrift of what to do. He doesn't wanna bug Jazz, she's in college and dorming. Tuckers place has no room. Sam's parents would never let him stay. Vlad was a definitely a no go. And Dani (Ellie) last check in was near the Amazon rainforest.

5. Danny finds out some of his powers might not be as ghostly as he thought... it does explain the huge power boost some of his powers have compared to other ghosts.

6. He went to Clockwork... who proceeded to tell him the truth, smile his cryptic smile while saying "and now. Have fun this time around. I'll see you again in due time Daniel." Before yeeting him into a portal.

7. Danny woke up in his home dimension.... deaged to being five years old (the age he would be if he stayed and grew by now) (DC timeline is slower than DP in this)

8. He woke up apparently his creator's home city... during a Gala (Danny woke up in a garden, dazed and confused. His memories are fuzzy)... and wandered into the party... and apparently he looked like a perfect mix of his.. dads? Which catches A LOT of peoples attention.

9. Especially with Tim Drake-Wayne and Conner Kent-Luthor just announcing they're dating that very night.

10. Rumors and gossip of a random kid, who looks just like the recent happily announced couple, go flying quickly among the elite... and reaches certain ears before it gets to batfam and supers (I have a feeling they learned how to block out rumors and gossips during these events)

11. Those ears happen to be Lex Luthor and Ra's al Ghul (both who are there at the Gala just to annoy and unnerve the Bats and Supers)

12. By the time the rumors get to Tim and Conner, they find Danny almost getting taken away by one of those two.

Thoughts on Conquest (Invincible Spoilers)

I’ve seen people annoyed with the “I’m so lonely” speech, so I wanted to talk about it.

All but 50 Viltrumites died because of the scourge virus. Conquest was one of the infected who survived, but he was sent on a dangerous mission before his healing factor was back to normal. That’s how he lost his arm and got all those scars.

“This time.. This time I’ll make sure she’s dead.”

Conquest doesn’t actually like taking a lot of damage himself; he immediately locks in and goes to kill Mark after getting that bite taken out of him. He isn’t playing games anymore when he says he’s gonna kill Eve again.

Conquest’s healing factor is back, but he still remembers what happened on that mission, and it probably makes him paranoid about serious wounds. The bite surprised him, it showed that Mark was capable of damaging him. Eve’s energy beam really shook him up.

He says he isn’t usually allowed to cause wanton destruction on missions; there’s people and infrastructure he’s forced to spare. This mission to take Earth is a very, very rare opportunity for his favorite brand of violence; and it’s one he intends to savor since he doesn’t know if or when he’ll ever get another like it.

This is a day he’ll be drinking in the new memories to look back on fondly; he’s practically giddy with excitement at the idea of ripping Oliver in half. Makes you wonder how many rules Conquest has tacked onto his normal missions, because he’s the one guy in the ranks who finds new ways to make problems with his destruction.

This mission was supposed to be his chance to be unapologetically himself; to bask in the carnage he wants to cause but usually can’t. And for a lot of the fight it’s exactly that.

But just because Conquest is addicted to his own bloodlust, and free to indulge it like a kid in a candy store, doesn’t mean it’s everything he needs or wants.

This ecstasy is fleeting; even if he’s holding back to let the fight go on, he’ll eventually have to leave and go back to craving more. And then he’ll just be alone again.

I imagine that celebrated generals and heroes and soldiers at the height of the Empire’s strength were surrounded by praise and attention. There were ceremonies where they’d be decorated for their achievements, weaker civilians who held them in high regard and wanted to meet them.

Some of them would have been like pro athletes; their kids would want to make their own legacies to live up to the family name. Some would also have been grandfathers whose grandkids hung on their every word as they told stories about their adventures. Grandkids who wanted to be just like their pee-paws someday, heroes of the Viltrumites.

Conquest wouldn’t have been one of those family men, but he had peers. There were more than enough of them to have comrades on missions, fighting alongside him. Friends. There was a time he would have had friends.

Friends who saw that he was addicted to destruction, and were able to keep him in check affectionately, not with a laundry list of ground rules. Because they weren’t afraid of him, they were his equals and they knew him outside of work.

Friends who were there when the virus began, not really able to speak much on the trauma of loss, but who went through it and knew the same pain. Friends that died from the virus one by one, until Conquest was the only one left.

He’s not just suffering from being a successful fighter; he’s suffering from surviving the scourge when most did not. He’s one of the oldest living Viltrumites left. The youngsters don’t relate to him, don’t remember the old days because they weren’t there with him.

He wouldn’t have been the only one who got tore up on a mission before his healing factor recovered. How many of his comrades died because they just weren’t as fast, or as strong, or as lucky on those missions? How many were assigned to a separate mission halfway across the universe when they died, leaving Conquest to wonder if things would have been different had he been there?

He can’t talk to anyone about this. It’s considered weakness. And he’s old and grizzled enough ti see just how stupid that notion is. But what is he supposed to do about it? Challenge Thragg? He’d die, and his life is one of the few precious things he has left.

Sone think Conquest tells all his victims what’s on his mind before he kills them. Like a human serial killer. But I doubt it. Why would he tell a non-Viltrumite, they’re bugs to him. No, Invincible is a Viltrumite, and one he’s allowed to kill so he isn’t labeled as weak.

Earth isn’t just the place where he can let loose and kill, it’s the place where he can confess how lonely he is without consequence. And he’s not gonna pass up a chance to do that, in this era it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“I am so lonely. All the other Viltrumites are scared of me. No one talks to me. No one wants to be my friend, they think I am unstable. “

“They send me from planet to planet committing atrocities in their name. And as I get better at it… they fear me more and more.”

“I am a victim of my own success. Conquest… I don’t even get a real name.”

“Only a purpose.”

“I am capable of so much more and no one sees it.”

“Some days I feel so alone I could cry, but I don’t. I never do.”

“Because what would be the point? Not a single person in the entire universe would care.”

“Take it to your grave.”

Conquest isn’t the equivalent of a serial killer, he’s the equivalent of a veteran that lives for the thrill of battle. One that should have been retired and have people who care about him and check up on him. But he’s still in service, and nobody is there for him and he’s painfully aware of it.

They gave him a replacement arm. But he can still see, so he doesn’t get a replacement eye. His teeth are clean but broken from years and years of the fight. Nobody is offering to get him veneers or dentures. I guarantee it.

I wonder if we’ll get to see how he got the scar and if he was the only one assigned to that mission. He might have lost somebody there.

I also wonder if he’s an orphan, or if he had a name that nobody else remembers. :(

Part 4 1/2 of my Brainwashed Jax comic inspired by the concept from @cosmic-nia

So... I overdid it and made too many panels for this part, so before we get back to Gangle, I'm going to post the last few frames of this part

I wouldn't be surprised if Jax liked to feel like he was in control of every little thing he did, even if that's causing chaos, so when faced with the possibility of that no longer being the case, after seeing what that felt like (going under the assumption he remembers everything after, though that hasn't really been addressed yet, which is why this comic is inspired by Nia's concept, and isn't claiming to be an extension of that exact same universe) he would probably have a bit of a mental breakdown...

And in doing so, he kinda forgets for a minute who it is he's really dealing with. Gangle went a little insane, but he knows the Gangle he's known for years, even if he's sometimes kind of horrible to her, he does know what she's like, and that she wouldn't want to put him through that

It just took Ragatha knocking some sense into him for him to actually remember that
