MY DAD has just got watching Bungou (Because he loves literature (he was always a huge book nerd at heart)) 🩵

So he really can't think of the characters with with original author's name, he thinks calling hot anime boys with IRL author's name sounds weird... (luckily he doesn't know what fan fiction is...) So he either calls them by the main character of their respective novels , for example he sometimes calls dazai, yozo or fyodor, raskolnikov. Or he just comes up with funny nicknames or phrases for the characters... Here are some of them.

Atsushi: The kitty cat with soul crushing trauma

Dazai: The run away egyptian mummy.

Kunikida: WILL die a virgin despite having the best ass know to womankind (Yesss, he literally called kunikida that a few times, it sounds weird in english tbh)

Chuuya: Has not emotionally matured since the age fifteen / anger issues / has a swearing problem / probably popular with the ladies [no that's dazai, dad...] / ginger bread guy / puss in boots

Akutagawa: had an emo phase, still not over it / the asthma dude with a hot sister

Yosano: FINE, she is FINE AS FUCK... (he says she reminds him of my mom... lmao)

wait okay. instead of going to sleep like a normal person. here's how I'd change the ages in bsd (for those that have a canon age), bc no one looks their age/it makes the timeline feel weird, i wanna let at least some major past events breathe a little between one another. possibly controversial takes ahead:

atsushi: i like that he's 18 actually. he looks and feels 16 but no yeah 18 works better. I'd say 20-21 would be nice but that'd reallyyyy throw his backstory's timing off unfortunately

dazai: 25

kunikida: around 27-28

ranpo: 28 also, maybe even 29 (his whole thing is that he looks young for his age anyway)

yosano: 28 as well

tanizaki: like. he does look 18. but also 16 and 21 at the same time. i like him as a bit older than atsushi so let's say 19-20, and naomi as well while we're at it

kenji: why is he 14. it's not that he doesn't look 14 it's that i simply did not expect a child to be the muscle in a detective agency. so please make him like at least 16 which is only just slightly better tbh

i think that's everyone who has a canon age (excluding lns bc i haven't gotten to them yet)? aside from sigma maybe but his age is more of a plot device than a fun fact. and fukuchi is implied to be the same age as fukuzawa so, yeah just make them the same in this case too.

i did mess up the timeline myself with this. so lemme clear it up:

The War and the whole thing with mori and yosano still happened when she was 11, so 17 years before canon. that means mori was still in his 20s back then, no big change

untold origins still happened when ranpo was in his teens, honestly we can keep it 14, so 14 years ago, meaning fukuzawa was in his late 30 or early 40s. again not too big of a change I'd say

fifteen happens when. well. dazai and chuuya are 15. ten years ago. i don't want q there get them out of my sight (for now) let them be a kid for a bit!!!!! but yeah like in canon that means the previous boss's murder was a year before, 11 years ago. also while we're at it, stormbringer is also the same aka a year after 15

now this is where we shake things up just a bit. rather than occuring when dazai is 18, i think we can push the dark era to when he's 20 and still maintain the whole childlike thing he has going on there, it's not that big of a difference imo.

that means, 5 years before canon instead of 4, making akutagawa 15 back then, and ango 27 like odasaku.

also yeah q comes in at some point in the middle between those^ I'd say close to dark era than fifteen.

originally i wanted to make skk 26 but this started stretching things even more. bc now we gotta figure out how long dazai spent in hiding. and ig we can keep it 2 years and just make it so his entrance exam was 3 years before canon. again imo not that big of a stretch 🤔

idk why i said this changes the timeline a lot i think this is p simple. also lets ppl stew in their situation for just a bit longer which i like more.

This is just Stupid little Palia rant thingy (the good kind i swear) but i was looking at Jels wiki and i saw his voice actors name (Greg Chun) and googled it thinking that it sounded familiar only to Find out that Jel and Kenji are voiced by the VA who is the English voice for HIROTSU!!! Like the bloody Port Mafia Assasin, the commander of the Black Lizard, that Hirotsu.

So i Ended up doing some researching and i realised that many of the Palia VAs voice/ voiced BSD characters in the English dub (we love a hyper fixation cross over lmao).

But seriously so many of the Palia vas voice act in Bsd and idk why but that literally makes me so happy but i was not expecting that.

Fukuzawa Yukichi School AU (ft. Gn!reader, Kunikida Ranpo, Yosano) headcanons

Note: i need to get this off my chest, these are just headcanons cause I can’t be asked to make this into a story. Fukuzawa is also your dad/adoptive dad, Ranpo and Yosano your siblings cause I always need to squeeze that in when I write about him 🥰 reader is in the orchestra and in college. This is gonna be long so take snack breaks in between each section—these are in no particular order btw these are just random headcanons.

Fukuzawa:

Head of the Music department + music teacher

He teaches music at a high school, the college you go to and at an art university (and helps at random schools if he’s asked to help conduct).

At the university, he teaches classes for Conducting, Composition and Strings but he’s a well known musician

If you don’t have school that day (or you just don’t go) he’ll let you sit in his class while he teaches

Point and laugh at the university students because he makes them memorise the Circle of Fifths (which definitely isn’t the hardest thing they have to do but still get wrecked)

He’s one of those people that just knows everyone

He probably has met Joe Hisaishi multiple times (enough to introduce you if you’re a fan)

Fukuzawa had agreed to teach you the violin.

“Why did you want to learn the violin?” he asked in his usual monotone voice. You looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

“I want to learn this song,” you said holding up your phone showing him ‘Graceful Ghost Rag’. Admittedly it was two violin players and a piano, but it’s what made you want to learn to begin with. Fukuzawa read the title carefully before closing his eyes.

“You should learn the classics,” you tilted your head and sighed.

“But why can’t this song be a classic? It’s just as good as the others,” you said defiantly, but with respect. Fukuzawa clicked his tongue, but had to chuckled at the determined look on your face over something so trivial. Nonetheless, he agreed.

Since this song requires two other people, he plays the violin 2 part, so you can shine through with the violin 1 part (piano player is whoever you want).

If you want to learn another instrument (literally any) he probably knows someone that can teach you.

It’s one of those moment where it’s like “thank you, but how the hell did you even cross paths?”

Kunikida-kun~

Kunikida works under Fukuzawa-san obviously and has been his student for a long time

He’s a math teacher but his main shtick is music

When he was a student he probably played the clarinet, the bass clarinet, the bari sax or the oboe (either one of these make sense he just looks like a woodwind player)

He’s training under Fukuzawa-san to also be a music teacher, so when the president isn’t there, he conducts the orchestra in his place.

Since Kunikida is close with Fukuzawa-san, naturally he’s well familiar with you and Ranpo.

If you’re younger than Kunikida, he immediately goes into older brother mode.

The orchestra loves to bully him (like how students playfully poke fun at the teacher)

Even at the college you’re at, where there are students that are way older than him, he’s usually a punching bag—but the younger ones, it’s 10 times worst.

Although Kunikida can be a stickler for the rules, he’s a lot more relaxed once you get into college compared to when he’s teaching the high school students.

He swears more often for one thing (no one can tell me Kunikida doesn’t have a mouth on him 💀)

When he’s not conducting, he plays his instrument with the orchestra.

he’s also a math teacher, as I mentioned, he can be very aggressive in class

If you’re struggling, he might tell Fukuzawa-san, but only if he knows that you can do better.

He can be harsh sometimes, but he’s willing to sit with you and help you until you fully understand the lesson, because he still wants you to pass even though you piss him off.

Edogawa Ranpo

Ranpo is in the Advanced Law enforcement program

He’s also in the orchestra at the same college, he plays the Alto Saxophone and no can change my mind.

When you were in high school, Fukuzawa-san would bribe him to come and play some of the Saxaphone 1 parts for a song.

Yosano is studying to be a doctor obviously

But she also works under the head school nurseso you and Ranpo visit her from time to time.

Although she works under a head nurse, she does a good enough job that she could run the office on her own (I mean come in it’s Aunty Yosano)

She is not in the orchestra

Back to Fukuzawa

Since your known as Fukuzawa-sans kid by all the orchestra members, they always send you to ask if he’s finished grading assignments

Speaking of grading, he’s an easy grader, especially if it’s high school.

Since it’s orchestra, the assignments he gives are typically music theory assignments, some reflection papers (rare Fukuzawa L) and play tests (another L sorry hated doing those even as a percussionist there’s no escaping them😔)

He’s pretty lenient though and is willing to change his mind if you ask bother him enough.

Even with the assignments he gives he’s not to harsh

His office is literally a second living room for a lot of his students 💀

He has a couch in there, so you and Ranpo mainly kick down his door to sit in there.

When you were in high school he had a similar office layout (like the couch), and it was the same story, Fukuzawa-sans office was free real estate.

If he’s not swamped with grading, he’ll visit you and Ranpo in your classes.

He isn’t the one to gossip, but he loves hearing about the little stories about the other other staff members from you.

Will literally follow you around trying to get the full story and will make sure you don’t get distracted so you continue.

He tries to be subtle, but you can tell he’s invested.

You paused to get your notebook from your bag, and within the short time frame, you someone how forgot you were talking. Fukuzawa tried to hide how invested he was in the story.

“You were saying?” He said trying bring your attention back to the recent events.

“You’re acting very strange today, Ojisan,” you said with a smirk, which quickly changed to a laugh when he scowled.

In Orchestra (and concert band) Fukuzawa plays a wide array of songs with you guys.

You guys were once given the opportunity to play at a Studio Ghibli anniversary concert (listen to the full orchestra versions of studio ghibli songs 👍)

His dynamic with his students at the high school and college is very much, ‘students do stupid shit, old man sighs in disappointment’

At the college there are probably students that are even older than fukuzawa (I have someone in my class who is 49 irl so we’re adding that in here), so the younger students either target one or the other.

If you’re not in school he’ll have you help grade assignments for the university students (mainly the easier ones, he’s not making you grade anything insane)

Silly thoughts I’ve had upon starting Bungo Stray Dogs Season 4 (spoilers below the cut)

-Ranpo calls Fukuzawa dad unironically. First he did it as a joke like: “Dad I’m hungry!” “Dad, Tanazaki’s bullying me!” “Daaaaaaad!” But now occasionally he’ll call him dad without batting an eyelash and Fukuzawa has a lot of feelings about it- all good ones; just- a lot of them.

- Chuuya’s not allowed to swear on the daily cause he tends to string curses together and be very loud. Before he went and saved the gang from the hunting dogs however he was allowed one curse word by Mori. Any other day he’d have to put money in the swear jar.

-on that note: Kunikida tries not to swear at all around the younger members of the agency. If he’s mad at Dazai, he’ll spell the word instead.

Kuni: “Dazai get your A-S-S up and do your paperwork!”

Kyouka: “*to ranpoe* I know what that spells.”

Ranpoe: “Ass.”

Kyouka: “Ass. Mr. Kunikida. Ass.”

Kunikida: “Stop it”

- Nikolai is an absolute ler and tickle monster- have you seen those portals? He could pop in anywhere and just start tickling! He doesn’t even need to get close to you either; so good luck with revenge. (He looks tickly- get him by surprise and he’s done for!)

-Jouno hates Tetcho the most because he tends to smell the worst post workout and makes it a point to hang around the blind man after. He has no other reason to do so besides being petty.

-Poe buys Karl cute hats. The raccoon never wears them, and when he does he usually tears them up within minutes. That doesn’t stop him from buying them.

- honestly Mori would be very similar to the original au but with a few tweaks here and there.. apparently he can't be the exact same..

-would Mori be touched starved? honestly Mori wouldn't be touched starved, but he does act like it... Similar to the original au, It is well-known that he would be all over you, because you're so dear to him.. Sometimes he would leave you alone in peace or he would be in your personal space 24/7..

-how would they act around you?

-you really can't tell what's he's like in general because it's like he has 4 faces... 1. His clingy whiny self.. 2. His calm and slightly romantic self... 3. His disappointed and slightly stern self, 4. His sexually sadistic self... and 5. the one you don't regularly see, he's absolute furious self (he doesn't act like that in front of you because he doesn't want to scare you off) but the majority of the time he acts like haft of 2 and 3 on a daily basis

-The same as the Original AU, he doesn't really give out affection.. it's most likely the other way around.. But there's some occasions that he would give you affection without any problems.. like if you're mostly strained or facing something negative... He may initiate affection first in order to comfort you..

-Even if Mori isn't the boss of the Port Mafia he still likes to have the title of being superior.. So it isn't hard to believe that Mori would have the most control in a lovers relationship..

-honestly this would be surprising to most people around his social circle.. but he craves almost any sort of affection with you (but now he can express it whenever he wants, since he's not the boss of the Port Mafia anymore) If you do something very cute that involves affection, he'll be all over you cooing you for being so adorable..

-Mori doesn't need courage to ask you out.. he just does it at the right time with the right planning.. and somehow you're crazy enough to say yes..

-Similar to the Original AU, Mori has two types of dates.. one moment he's acting like one of those single quirky tired dad's that want affection and bring you around town walking around with his orphans then the next moment he's acting like a rich romantic man and bringing you to a fancy dining area.. (somewhere not too popular because he doesn't exactly want you to meet Osamu Dazai at all)

-honestly there's not really much hesitancy within the relationship other than your own.. (if you have any that is) like if you are his darling.. then the word hesitancy doesn't really exist in his vocabulary.. like if he wants something from you, he does it.. no harm done, right?

-working in the orphanage with Mori, I swear almost anything that happens there is wholesome because the kids probably like you and there would be so many wholesome moments between you and Mori (obviously during work hours/daytime because we're taking about Mori here..)

-Similar to the Original AU, Mori is all for living together because it makes it easier for him to 1. To Communicate with you whenever he wants 2. Insure your safety and 3. To see his adorable s/o's cute domestic home life.. (I'm talking about those wholesome moments where you wake up all sleepy and still want to sleep.. *in he's eyes your absolutely adorable when you do that*)

-trying to sleep in the same bed as (them),

-would they be big spoon or small spoon most of the time?

-how do they respond to you giving them innocent affection in bed? When would you get away with making them the opposite position?

-if you live with him.. then on the first night you're probably sleeping in same room as him.. because what's the fun of having you over and he won't be able to sleep with you.. that's just unamusing or at least in his opinion..

-most of the time Mori would be big spoon, He loves the feeling of you within his arms and likes cooing you.. Not only that, but it gives him a sense of superiority, he feels like he's protecting you and he knows for a fact that you're safe in his arms..

-the only way Mori would ever be a small spoon is when he's feeling like it.. like example, you offer your chest or your thighs as a pillow.. if he's in the mood then he would lay on it.. mind you his hands will 100% wander off.. (unless there's kids around- NM if the kids are under the age of 15 he will not be doing that *rip 15+..*) Another reason that will least likely happen, is when Mori's in the hospital unit because he injured himself.. he may or may not use you as a pillow with the excuse that you're more softer than the pillow.. (Mori gets so jealous when the kids spend way to much time cuddling you)

-almost anything goes when it comes to affection.. like arm hooking, hand holding, embraces, hugs, kisses, cuddles, ect..(unlike the Original AU, Mori doesn't need to hide the relationship.. so expect to be bothered because he wants affection..)

-Mori jealous while in a relationship, okay.. unlike the Original AU, Mori's most likely to actually get jealous if you spend too much time with the kids or if a person you get along with starts flirting with you.. (as I mentioned earlier he can get jealous if you do spend way too much time with the kids) but let's get back to the adult flirting with you.. it most likely happened when Mori was showing a couple around the orphanage (little did he know, one of them were unloyal to their lover) and when they laid their eyes upon you, they couldn't help, but with you.. you not being able to catch the drift thought he was just being friendly and funny.. later on Mori found himself alone with the flirter and threatened him (doesn't mean Mori's not a apart of the Port Mafia anymore, it doesn't mean he doesn't know how to kill someone) yeah you had to witness a divorce later on (I know it's not important but I have to say it.. the kids had so much fun watching the drama.. because they're not stupid, they knew exactly what Mori was doing and they had so much fun watching it unfold in front of them)

-if you think very lowly of yourself? He's not having it.. your his darling, it's impossible to worthless.. all of you belongs to him, why would you dare think lowly about yourself? If it's because of past trauma, he'll try to comfort you without triggering you.. If it's because someone told you that, then that person will be having a stern talk with him.. or if it's just an orphan, he'll still have a stern talk with them but he will guide them to not insult others because it's mean..

-unlike the Original AU, Mori's slightly better at cooking because he actually has the time to practice.. Mori wouldn't exactly improve for you because he's still a busy man after all, but sometimes he spends his time improving his skills... His heart flutters and skip a few beats when you cook for him.. he thought you looked absolutely adorable in a apron, placing your home made food on the table.. he would certainly tease you about it.. with the line "awe.. your already preparing to be my little adorable house wife/husband"

-overall, Mori in a healthy relationship would be like... He's a gentleman, romantic, clingy, whiny, flirtatious, manipulative and mysterious.. he's not entirely touched starved but acts like it and he would be easily categorized in yandere.. he's also very protective and teasing as well..

i saw the untold origins of the detective agency agency and this hits different

mostly because of the oda. i'm always weak to oda. so i present to you the untold origins of the dazai who becomes the father of 14!oda as a result of time travel.

what if dazai, who, with the help of some artifact, swaps places with himself from the past (creates a separate timeline, yes, for good) (the post about how the ada coped with little dazai will be another time), is transferred just to these twelve years ago, with the original goal of not just not giving oda to die, oh, you know… give him a childhood. and so, oda is eating curry in the cell — and it's delicious for him — and then suddenly some left-wing guy appears and is like, "oh, do you like curry? and i like to piss off the police and get the kids out of the station. lessss go". and oda, a curious little fox, agrees, because it's interesting and he has enough killer skills to cope with a skinny guy if he turns out to be a pedophile.

the uncle does not turn out to be a pedophile. the uncle, in fact, turns out to be very cool, poisons funny stories, really feeds curry (and oda is very funny, because dazai lies that oda has a birthday, and they are given a free dessert, which dazai eats himself), and in general, oda does not notice that atsushitherapy works on him — well, with showing a normal life to want it. and also, damn, dazai is really cool, and i doubt that oda needs to be an adult to get on dazai in the same way as he did in the canon.

so yes, dazai picks up a dedinside child so that he feels good. it's actually difficult for dazai to follow someone, and someone who is essentially independent, but he carefully manipulates - and he also wants oda to believe him, so he sorts out all these manipulations after, and he himself has to fuck harder and harder, and this is a funny competition - for oda to study, eat in a human way, in general, i could be a normal teenager. but at some point, dazai ceases to need it - because even if oda has a transitional age, he is still conscious and calm, so that in the end they come together without unnecessary dramas. dazai really becomes more of a dad than an older brother, because of the characteristic care, and oda doesn't mind in the end.

dazai still adjusts his acquaintance with fukuzawa — already through an oda — and stands at the origins of the ada, and he is still lazy and sometimes unbearable, but he is very cool and useful, and from somewhere knows how to optimize the work, as if he worked in something similar takes out the experience years later, he also he is friends with rampo, and, most charming of all, oda is friends with rampo.

dazai constantly slips oda books in the hope that oda will want to be a writer here, but oda becomes more interested in stupid teenage stuff (which dazai is also very happy about), and they have dialogues like

— i want a nintendo( — i understand. but you have an important test coming up, and you'll be completely distracted. — rampo has a nintendo 😩 — rampo knows kanji.

and dazai never swears, but sometimes gets upset, and it feels much worse. oda, of course, tries in the end, but it still sucks to write a test, but dazai buys nintendo… because this time oda crossed the threshold, but last time he couldn't, and this realization that dazai is happy about progress, rejoices for him - oda appreciates it very much.

and dazai closes his eyes every time rampo and oda call something together, because it's more important to dazai that oda has friends. 💔

and dazai and fukuzawa regularly drink together, because they are tired dads, work together and they have something to talk about.

for the first couple of years, dazai struggles because he was in love with odasaku - and very much — and he misses him, and he doesn't have any forbidden thoughts, only memories of another person, but one day he just looks at oda and doesn't think about what happened — he just has this a child that he loves and cares about — and because of this child, he wakes up in the morning and really wants to live. dazai dad.

in general, over time, fukuzawa, dazai, oda and rampo become a cool newfound family and everything is fine with them!!!

(and then, with the light hand of dazai, they adopt all abandoned children from bsd in general, and everything only gets better)

And Diluc rolls his eyes, more out of habit than anything. 

this, i think! it's from my fic 'help the fool who falls in love, and i think i love the history behind it, more than anything. diluc's thinking back on how they've changed, and sort of on how they fell apart and how he misses it, and there's something about second chances when they're both nostalgic and unwilling to voice it.

N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you? i have an idea for a kaeluc fic that can basically be summed up as 'reconnecting through violence,' which sounds a lot more graphic than it is. but hey?? if they're relationship falls apart through bloody conflict, then who says it wouldn't be interesting if they eventually reconnected by dragging each other out of fights or dangerous situations, because it's not like they don't find themselves in plenty of them.

Tis a lazy day- so a lazy post T_T (still not feeling 100% better T_T)

At first, there really isn’t anybody too happy about this little “bonding” exercise.

It was organized by both Mori and Fukuzawa since there were so many temporary alliances lately. That and they both wanted a little amusement.

Almost everybody didn’t mind.

Ranpo, Kunikida, Tanizaki, and almost everybody but Dazai and Atsushi were fine with it when it came to the agency.

Then the only people against the little slumber party in the mafia were Chuuya and Akutagawa.

It was relatively easy to get Akutagawa to go. A simple, “Dazai will be there I'm sure you’ll impress him in some way.”

Chuuya… you had to drag him to the location. Of course, this is no easy task because he is the port mafia’s executive gravity manipulator. He’ll go from making himself too heavy to move, to pinning you down, to shoving you into walls.

It takes threatening to get Mori and using slight manipulation. His sense of loyalty is both his greatest strength and weakness. With a simple, “well this is something from Mori, so refusing to go is refusing an order so it’s kind of disloyal?”

He was glaring and grumbling curses, but he was about to go. “I swear if I have to deal with that mongrel I’ll crush you.” he’d probably repeat something like that over and over again.

When you actually get there you're surprised how well set up everything is.

There is karaoke, various forms of liquor, tables, sleeping bags, beanbags, lots of snacks, there were even a few people already here.

You decided to help set up anything that still needed setting up.

You ended up talking to Atsushi a bit, he did find it rather unbelievable he was talking to one of the more feared members of the mafia.

While you could be ruthless, cold, and cruel, you were a kind person underneath all of it.

Dazai showed up before Chuuya, which was unexpected.

No Chuuya means nobody to annoy the living hell out of.

It was either Kunikida or you. Of course, he picked the rarer occasion.

“Will you commit a double suicide with me?” “Such a flower.” “What are you up to.” “Whaaaa you're ignoring meeeee?” he could be quite the pester.

Unlike Chuuya though, you kept yourself level-headed.

“Sorry but I plan on living Dazai.'' Kunikida was amazed at how easily you could hold together. To the mafia this was normal but to the agency, they were all shocked you could deal with Dazai's behavior.

You liked this sort of peace. Even Akutagawa, who was basking alone eating pocky, was gradually interacting with Atsushi. He was nervous and kept a large distance but it wasn’t too bad.

Chuuya was the last to get there, and he was already holding a bottle of wine. He sat down and finished it. If you give him the stink eye, he'll glare. “Just don’t, if I have to deal with this, I'm going to be drunk.” that would earn a chuckle as Dazai starts to purposely anger the ginger.

Eventually, you pulled them apart before they started throwing fists.

“How drunk do you think Chuuya has to be for karaoke?”

“Drunk enough to be on the verge of passing out.” why Dazai knows this is unknown.

When people moved to start karaoke it was mostly those who had already had a bit much to drink.

Despite being waisted, it was still hard to get Chuuya to go up with you. Before you realized it, Dazai was there to shove you to the middle. It was like old times for a moment. The three of you had been close if you could count your partnership as close. Always stepping to break the boys from their fights. Joining in, at times, drinking together after a successful mission. Falling asleep on each other's shoulders.

This felt like those times and for a moment it was as if you weren't on separate sides. “Chuuya’s just scared (y/n) likes me more!” Dazai snickered, pulling you towards him.

Teasing drunk Chuuya was always a big laugh for the two of you. “No! they like me more! I’m not the one always touching them weirdly!” he pulled you back and you sighed.

This was going to be a long night. “How about more wine Chu?” you hummed grabbing your own glass as Dazai snickered.

“Drinking contest!” he hummed.

Akutagawa raised a brow. (his almost-non existent ones XD). “I mean Chuuya-san and (y/n)-san do a ton of stuff together. (y/n) gets along with anybody as long as they don't screw up…” if Akutagawa shivered at that then Atsushi was most definitely terrified.
