➢ Description : A Q&A video with Y/R/N and Aidan Ghallagher.
➢ Word Count : 1,750
➢ Links : Masterlist && Character Profile
➢ Note : Not gonna lie, I am uncomfortable about writing a real person 😭, well, real people in general. That's why in this fanfic, Mr. Gallagher may come off as OOC. So please don't be surprised that I focused more on the reader's chaotic energy to contrast with Mr. Gallagher's tame personality. For the record, Y/R/N means your real name. Also please comment or let me know if you want a part 2 but with your questions instead.

Q&A with The Umbrella Academy cast ft. Aidan Gallagher and Y/R/N
"Hello everyone! As promised I promised to you guys, I brought over Y/R/N who plays Number Zero of the Umbrella Academy, for today's video." Aidan Ghallagher introduced the girl beside him who wore a large cardigan and an unamused look on her face.
"Are you for real?" Y/R/N asked, not humoured by Adian’s introduction but the actor looked amused by his fellow co-star’s reaction.
"Is that all you have to say I mean? You don't have a catchphrase or introduction for your channel?" She added but the brunette actor ignored her words knowing she’s just jesting for the video.
"Anywho, we will be answering some of your questions and we will be providing our answers to the best of our abilities."
The (your hair color) actor huffs and pretends to be hurt by being ignored.
"Oh yeah, I just wanted to double check Y/R/N, are you okay with answering the questions-"
"Of course I am, if I wasn't I wouldn't be here."
"You've been in my channel for 15 seconds and your already acting like it's yours."
The actress dramatically flips her hair then bats her lashes at the camera making Aidan laugh, "It's my job to make this entertaining. I know you can't possibly handle the weight of being the only star."
The boy smiles, clearly entertained by her actions but, managed to stifle his laughter. "We might as well start with the questions before this becomes her channel."
"So the first question is from, moe-moe-kyunette, I uh, did I say that right?" Aidan looked doubtful once he said the username then looked at Y/RN to help him out.
"Ship it and clip it everyone! You've tricked him into saying the thing!" The actress laughed as she slammed her fist against the table while holding her stomach, knowing the internet user just tricked Aidan into saying a meme.
"Wait, is it something bad?"
"Not a bad thing, it's like a japanese meme, an anime meme to be exact, about an idol girl trying to be cute so she says that."
"I see," As the actor was about to resume with the video but Y/R/N stopped him, "Wait, before you start, can you do the 'moe moe kyun' meme with the hand gestures?"
Aidan shook his head whilst smiling then resumed, "Well, they asked you the most important question. Have you ever listened to my music?"
The actress stiffened, "Did my manager really agree with the questions you picked?"
"Yes, yes, she did." He looks at her with a raised brow and an amused look then gestured to the camera, "Well, we are waiting Y/R/N."
"I-" She looks away flustered, "I'm sorry but I haven't listened to your music yet- I know I promised to listen to them but have not had the time to listen to them…"
"And why is that?" The brunette crosses his arms the look still on his face.
She nervously looks down at her feet, "It's just...I haven't been able to make time yet." He gives her a knowing look then gestures to the camera, "Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?"
"I just, I just- I just think that we should move on now! How about I read the next question?" She then nears the monitor, and Aidan is silently laughing.
"So Aidan and Y/R/N, is it true you guys fought on set?" The girl quickly hides her face in her cardigan from the camera. " I should have never read the question voluntarily!"
The boy beside her chuckles, "But, to answer your question, we have never fought on set, some people just misinterpreted that we had a fight because she hit the back of my head."
The actress hides herself with the cardigan she wore, "Look! That's how I greet my friends. I know that's not how other conventionally greet others that's why I only did it to people I was close with."
"Let me," She takes in a deep breath, then removes the cardigan from her face. "Let me add some context to the story first, so I mistook Aidan for my friend Astrid without her wig on, and yes, I didn't notice he was wearing his costume!"
"So like, I greeted him by slapping the back of his head. He turned to me confused why I just did that and I ran away out of instinct and never explained it until he had the chance to corner me."
Aidan was laughing so hard, "I had to corner her because I didn't want our scenes to become awkward than they already were. When I found out the reasoning I just forgave her but told her that she really shouldn't have ran away."
"It was instinct okay! That was not the first thing I thought of when I processed I just hit you. It didn't help either that we weren't friends yet, so I thought my whole career was ruined at that moment." The (your hair color) actress covered the half of her face.
The boy smiled though it was his way of attempting to stop himself from laughing anymore at his fellow co-star’s flustered state. "Gajh1098 asked, what is that one trait we like about our character at the same time hate?"
Y/R/N gestures for Aidan to start first, "You can start first."
He nodded then prompted his chin on his hand, "I would have to say, I hate how Five is confident in himself to the point it comes off as arrogance. Being confident is not bad but if you have seen Y/R/N here-"
She jumped then exclaimed loudly, "What's that supposed to mean?!"
"She acts too confident on camera but we all know - especially the other casts members - that she's actually tamed. You can see on our interviews as a cast, that she's like that one cousin in the corner, that doesn't know what to say so she hides behind her other cousins."
The girl cringed, "Oh, god, you saw those memes? I was hoping you wouldn't."
"I was literally there to witness it," The actor laughed then, added on. "Anywho, Y/R/N acts confident but it doesn't come off arrogant. She knows her limits but Five doesn't because he thinks he can do everything by himself that he ends up not recognizing that he can't do everything himself."
Y/R/N nods, "Yeah that's kinda toxic in a way. It's kinda like how in group works. You lead the group and end up doing everything yourself, because you don't trust your teammates. I can see why you wouldn't trust them but, you shouldn't push yourself to the point where you crash down."
Aidan nods then gestures at the girl, "Your turn to answer the question."
"So the one trait I dislike and like about Y/N is that she's flexible with handling people. She is very understanding, too understanding! She knows how to interact with them very well. It's a good trait in hindsight - especially in work places - but, it's not a good trait if you become so malleable that people take advantage of it."
The actor nodded along agreeing with her words.
The actress then abruptly sat up shouting, "MY TURN! I wanna read the next question! Oh yeah, do we have to mention the usernames? Or are you going to show them on screen?"
"I usually mention them because I feel like it makes them happy-"
"Well too bad! I'm going to make their day miserable." Y/R/N cheekily grinned. "This person asked why I always hide behind other people or hold onto their clothes like a child… Can we skip this?"
The boy chuckled, "No."
"Seriously, I feel like you and my manager are trying to humiliate me for the video.” She muttered under her breath, narrowing her eyes at Aidan suspiciously, “Anyways, I'm still getting used to cameras and it's kinda instinctual for me to do that I suppose? I'm not used to cameras since I have been used to working with microphones being a voice actor first and foremost."
His hazel's eyes light up, "Oh yeah, I recall you saying you were a VA, why did you audition for the show to begin with?"
The actress scratched her nape with a wry smile, "I thought it was a voice acting job not acting. I didn't even know until I was picked that it was an acting job. I scrambled to research on acting and kept asking the others if they could give me advice on acting."
He face palmed, smiling, "Did you not read what you were screening for?"
"To be fair, it was my manager who read it out loud, I just butted in and just said yes mindlessly because I saw the character designs and thought they were cool, I'm referring to the comics by the way."
"Next question from is from wbip8581, they asked how we become close?" The brunette male read the question outloud.
"Since Aidan and I got a lot of scenes together, I asked if we could work on them - like rehearse with each other so he could give me pointers on how to deliver my character."
"We hung out but, it was more on watching reality TV shows to examine and decipher how an angry person acts or how someone similar to Y/N acts." He added onto the girl’s explanation to which she nodded along.
"I think because of him, I got into watching Hell's kitchen," Both the actress and actor laughed at how true the statement was.
The brunette male then decided to move, "For now, this is the last question since I know the video is probably going to be long with how much Y/R/N rambles-"
"HEY!" The girl pretended to look offended by putting a hand over her heart.
Aidan chuckled, "So, the last question is from Immpotato10, do you two plan to make more videos together? Assuming that the Q&A does well."
"That depends really… although I like talking to Mr. Gallagher." She says his last name mockingly which made him roll his eyes, "I don't wanna overstay my time here in his channel, and if he has good video ideas then I will probably reconsider."
“Well, I suppose that’s goodbye for now!” Aidan bid his farewell to his audience followed by Y/R/N waving her two hands at the camera like a child.

What's in a Name
Summary: This would be Wiatt's first lunch joining his boyfriend (BOYFRIEND!!!) at his usual lunch spot with his usually lunch mates, which is to say that he was re-meeting Lewis's best friends with the context of dating Lewis. This was basically make or break it as far as Wiatt was concerned. Just had to make a good impression. No pressure. Right? Riiiiight.
(Also available on AO3)
     Wiatt was nervous. This was his first time seeing having lunch with Lewis as his boyfriend. What's more, this was his first time having lunch with his boyfriend and his boyfriend's best friends. Wiatt knew how important the two friends were to Lewis. One was practically a sister that Lewis had grown up with and the other rounded out their energetic ideas and was a kind glue that smoothed out the edges and made the three closer than the two were before. He treasured these friendships and if either of them thought he wasn't right for Lewis or just didn't like him, well, a boyfriend of two days vs a pair of best friends for over a year? He was pretty sure who Lewis would choose, and honestly? Was Wiatt even that much? What did Lewis even see in him?
     He had to make a good impression. He had been introduced before, but something about today felt more real. Oh, fuck! What if he got their names wrong? What if he forgot them? Asking them to repeat their names after he had known of them as long as he had known of Lewis? He was going to seem like such a careless jerk. Wiatt nervously jiggled the cord of his headphones and winced at the slight static sound it caused. He would have to put Coldplay on pause in a moment, but he let the tempo of 42 guide the beat of his footsteps as he scanned the area for a sign of blonde, brown, or orange hair.
     Eventually, he spotted Lewis's beanie and made his way to one of the blue mesh metal tables with an umbrella. Next to Lewis was a girl with long brown hair. She was munching on baby carrots from a purple striped lunchbox with the Cheshire Cat on it. What a shifty character to pair with someone eating in a shifty way. Just carrots? Plain? No ranch? No hummus? As if sensing his judgment, she plucked a grape out of the bag and took a bite into another carrot. What a monster!
     Next to the food fiend was a boy with slightly unkempt red hair and sunken green eyes. Wiatt's Wikipedia-scavenging heart went out the boy he clocked as a fellow insomniac.
Lewis looked up from his cafeteria soggy spaghetti and meat sauce and a beaming smile lit up his face. That smile could give solar power a run for its money, but instead it sent a charge to the butterflies in Wiatt's stomach, especially when his lips parted to sing out his name, "Wiatt! Darling! Come, join us."
     At the sound of his harmonious voice, Lewis's friends looked up at the lunchtime interloper. Right! This was the make it or break it moment. The brunette was closer, so he offered his hand to her.
"Hi, Sara." Her name was a bit easier to remember because after their introduction he had the song “Que Sera Sera” stuck in his head.
     Sara didn't take the offered hand. She just stared at him, as if challenging him to try and mess with her. Fair enough. He didn't need to talk to her. Let her resume her food crimes.
     Time to greet the other friend. Right. His name had something related to plants, right? Oakley? Ash? Forrest?
“Wiatt!” The other boy exclaimed. Then he made a face like he was worried he said something wrong. Or maybe he was worried he said it too loud? Well, Wiatt would just up the energy and try to calm this guy’s nerves. Besides, he remembered the boy’s name. They were in World History together.
“Hey! Good to see you, Basil!” Wiatt cheered and gave his own smile.
     Basil took the offered hand and smiled back, then paused.
“Yeah! Wait.”
Sara started to cackle. She leaned over and gave the redhead a noogie. “He sure is! It’s my bestest buddy, Basil.”
“Saaaraaaaa,” the boy whined.
At the same time, Lewis cleared his throat, stood up, and guided Wiatt to sit next to him. “That is Oliver, Darling.”
Oh. Oh. Oh no. Wiatt covered his face. “Oh my god. Oliver! I am so sorry! Oh no. Hnnnngh!”
Lewis chuckled and pat Wiatt’s back. “It’s quite alright, Darling. We could tell you were nervous.”
“You sit next to me in World History.”
“I am really sorry!”
Sara took a breath to calm her laughter. “He’ll forgive you, don’t worry. I, however, will not let you live this down.” “Noted.” Wiatt deadpanned.
“For the record, you got my name right, at least. But I am telling you now it is spelled S-A-R-A. No H.” “Got it.” “Do you want me to write it down? I can get a pen.”
“If I offer half my cookie will you forgive me?” Wiatt sighed.
“You may buy my silence for the moment.” Sara agreed cordially.
“I was asking Oliver.” “Are you sure you don’t mean Basil?”
“I really don’t mind. Wiatt.” Oliver finally spoke up. Wiatt held out half the cookie to him nonetheless. Oliver gamely took the treat, broke it into thirds, and passed a piece each to Lewis and Sara.
“Aww! A sweet from a sweetheart!” Sara cooed in thanks. She then retrieved a bag of…more grapes??? from her lunchbox and passed the plastic bag to Oliver.
“You just don’t want to eat the olives,” Lewis chided
“Yes, and?” Sara retorted
Oliver looked at the bag, smirked for a moment, and held the bag out to Wiatt. “Want some? As a pneumatic device?”
Wiatt let out a nervous chuckle and plucked one of the offered namesakes. “Thanks.”
     From there, things went a bit more smoothly. Aside from the occasional teasing from Sara that petered out after a while, the name mishap was forgotten for a while. At least, it seemed to be.
-Around a year later-
     The three best friends looked over their new employees. To think, they had employees , now! People were relying on them for instructions and paychecks. The nerves!
     Oliver was surprised to see some familiar faces. It felt weird seeing people he knew from school when they were now in a different city. Sara leaned over to inspect the list of names and photos to go with the names.
“Oh, no way! Lewis?” That was Andrew. He was in a study group with Sara as well as the art club Lewis had to drop once they started the project that led to them founding the Dreamworld facility.
“It’s good to see you, Darling.” Lewis greeted.
“Is it just you or is…Oh! Hi, Sara.” Andrew was bouncing on the balls of his feet. Then he turned to look at Oliver. “I didn’t get to know you as well as Lewis and Sara. Oh! But now I have the chance to know you more, too! I look forward to working with you, Basil!”
“Oh, um,” Oliver was caught off guard by Andrew’s enthusiasm, but his words registered after a moment. Oliver let his face fall into his palm, “Darn it, Wiatt.”
Sara patted his shoulder. “Not even here and the plus one is still causing trouble,” Sara laughed.

The Beach Episode! (sorta)
"Alright, Andy and Leyley side adventure titled: Beach Episode!" Cheered Ashley as Andrew rolled his eyes.
"Hardly a beach episode If it's just a pool at some random motel" Andrew mused as Ashley looked at Andrew with a pout.
"Don't need to ruin the fun!" She said and Andrew snorted.
"Ah yes, fun, on the run for our lives, and here we are having a 'beach' episode...yes veeeery fun," Andrew said as he grabbed a towel from the wrack in his room. He had a book in his right hand and a small little basket of some various supplies (underneath was the cleaver lest he...needed it for various reasons, all of which I'm sure aren't Ashley related) like sun-tan lotion and some water and snacks.
"Whatever you say, 'Mr. Stick up my ass', " Came Ashley as she stepped out of the bathroom, and Andrew had to turn away to avoid the crimson blush adorning his face.
"Oooh~what's a matter, Andyyy~" came the sing-song teasing voice of Ashley, who put two hands on her brothers cheek and made them look at her.
She was in a two-piece black bikini that would make Andrew mind wander and wander all throughout the day.
"L-lets, just go!" Said Andrew as he quickly walked past a smirking Ashley who followed right behind him.
-
It was a standard pool, one side shallow-the other side deep, nothing too crazy, a few of the other motel quest where their and just a singular bored lifeguard.
All in all pretty simple.
Andrew sighed as he found a nice lawn chair under an umbrella, put his and Leyley stuff underneath said chair. Kicking off his sandles, he sat on the chair, adjusting himself slightly, not bothering to take off his black shirt. Not that he wasn't comfortable or anything, no...he knows that if he did, Ashley would say something along the lines of 'showing off your body to other girls now, huh?' and then it would devolve into a fight. Which is what they didn't need right now...
"Ashley-cannibal!" Screamed Ashley as she jumped straight into the deep end of the pool, causing water to splash in all directions, causing a slight irratation to some of the other pool goers.
"You meant cannonball dumbass!" shouted Andrew as Ashley rose out of the water and swam to an edge before giving her brother the bird.
"I mean, both are equally true-" She was cut off with a glare from her brother sinking her head back down under water to escape her brothers gaze a naughty thought crossed her mind.
Andrew just sighed before laying back into the lawn chair and resuming his book and letting Ashley have her fun before it was time to go.
Pain in the ass she maybe,but she was his beautiful pain in the ass.
Very very beautiful indeed.
'Calm down Andrew, no need to get all hot and bothered...in a public setting no less. Relax, relax, and try not to think if your hot sister in that lovely bikini she had you buy her.'
Not finding his brain very helpful, Andrew returned back to his book and just kept reading, hoping those thoughts would just go away for now or that would be the case if...
"Andy~" came the mischievous voice of his sister as Andy looked up from his book to see his sister standing next to him, he was so distracted he didn't see that she had procured the sun-tan lotion from their basket, what's worse (or fortunate depending on how you feel Andrew) Ashley decided to sit on Andrew's lap.
"Wh-what are you doing?" Andrew said, blushing at the closeness of his sister as Ashley put the suntan lotion bottle in his hands.
"Your little sister needs her big brothers' help to fight those nasty sun rays~"Ashley said to him with a smile as Andrew sighed.
"I'm sure you can do it, Leyley." Andrew groaned, trying not to show any joy from having his sister sitting on his lap like this.
Ironically, a part of him wanted to just wrap his arms around the pale tease and hug her close.
"Nope, big brother has to help me sides. I can't reach everywhere now, can I?~" She said with a teasing wink.
'She's trying to kill me'
Andrew said nothing just looked at the bottles in his hand, sighing he set his book down and made himself a bit more comfortable before opening up said bottle and poured its contents onto his hand.
Hand thoroughly lathered Andrew began at his sister's shoulders, gently rubbing everywhere he could to administer the lotion, blushing and trying to hold back more and more thoughts.
While Ashley, on the other hand...
'God, his hands are so great!'
She, too, had a blush and was biting her lip to hold in a moan as her brother continued her work. She decided to lean back more as Andrew worked down her arms and then her sides, each muscle being expertly tended too. Until the feel-good sensation stopped.
"Uh there ya go, Ashley," said Andrew, looking away and made to try to get up but only to receive a tug on his shirt.
"Nuh-uh Andy not yet..." said Ashley before she repositioned herself to now be lying down on the lawn chair.
"Come on, Andy, time to lather me up~" said Ashley, to which Andrew gulped before taking more of the lotion and began to apply it to his sister, starting with her legs and working all the way up careful and precise he was as Ashley had to keep biting her lip, drawing blood as she had to resist moaning.
Really, she only wanted to tease her brother, but fuuuuck, did this feel so good!
From legs all the way to her back, her brother knew her body like the back of his hand.
Honestly, she could be here forever.
"Done"
Blinking, Ashley rose up to see Andrew, Red in the face setting the bottle down, reaching into the basket to pull out a bottle of water and drinking it in one go.
"Jeez Andrew, you sure are thirsty, aren't you, hmm?" Teased Ashley as Andrew narrowed his eyes at her.
'Little minx...how would she'
A lightbulb went off on Andy's head.
"Well Leyley... I hope all is good now, " He told her before getting up from his spot and making his way in front of her, this time handing her the lotion.
Ashley looked at the bottle then back at him with an eyebrow raised.
"Eh?"
"Well, aren't you going to lather up your brother?" Asked Andrew innocently, to which Ashley rolled her eyes.
"Tch, as if, I'm not falling for that trick, Andrew," She said, moving the bottle out of her face and laying her head back down on the towel.
"Oh, that's too bad..." Suddenly, a cloth fell onto Ashley's head, causing her to remove it to see that Andrew was now shirtless.
Ashley began to drool.
"I guess if my dear Leyley won't do it I guess one of these fine ladies wi-" Suddenly Ashley had dragged Andrew back down to the lawn chair before using one of the umbrella to cover them both.
She had procured the cleaver from the basket and now had it at Andrew's throat.
"It will be a cold day in hell before I let those whores touch a single inch of you my dear brother..." Said Ashley darkly as her violet eyes glowed, Andrew smirked feeling the blade nick his skin just a bit. His little plan worked like a charm.
" and if all you wanted was your dear sister to lather you up all you needed to do was ask... no need to look for other women..."
"But I did ask"
"You should have asked better, Andy!"
Andrew chuckled but said nothing as Ashley removed the cleaver from his throat and moved the umbrella back to its original position.
Suddenly, he sat up and looked behind him to see Ashley blushing up a storm as she held the bottle in her hand.
"Turnabout is fair play hmm Leyley?" Chuckled Andrew as soon he felt Ashley splatter the sun tan lotion all on his back the cold causing him to flinch before suddenly Ashley roughly began rubning the lotion into his back.
"Ah-gently-gently!"

Day 11: Squeal
Luigi is chasing after Daisy, trying to get his hat back. But Daisy is NOT having it. So, Luigi tickles her...which ends up reminding him of a childhood memory.
FAHCK I'M LATE! Sorry! Hope you enjoy!
Luigi and Daisy were sprinting around, swerving through every mushroom in the forest and dodging rocks that stuck out in the grass. Daisy was in the front with Luigi’s hat in hand and a playful smile on her face, while Luigi, who was left hatless, was running behind with a smirk on his face.
“GIVE IT BACK, HAT THIEF!” Luigi yelled.
“COME ON, LU! JUST GIVE UP!” Daisy reacted, before turning herself around so she was running backwards. “I’M JUST TOO FAST FOR YOU!” She mentioned.
“NOT A CHANCE! I’LL CATCH UP SOON, JUST YOU WAIT.” Luigi yelled back, picking up his pace with a growing evil grin.
Daisy sprinted to the floating bricks and ran over them one step at a time. She leaped up towards the cliffside and just for dramatic effect, she twirled in the air before landing on the grass.
Luigi widened his eyes with surprise as he saw her fluid movements and got ready for the floating blocks himself. He focused on each block as he landed on it. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8! He jumped on the last block and landed on the grass with a lack of balance on his feet. But once he got his balance again, he shook himself off and resumed running after her.
“NOT BAD, LUIGI! BUT WHAT ABOUT BOUNCY MUSHROOMS?” Daisy asked as she kept running. “BRING IT ON, PRINCESS!” Luigi declared.
Daisy ran to the cliffside and took another jump. She landed on the first mushroom, and felt as it sunk in and threw her up into the air like a typical trampoline. She flew through the air with adrenaline running through her veins, and landed onto another trampoline to continue the bouncy process all over again. The girl was leaping past some of the bouncy mushrooms with little consideration for her own safety! She was just that good! She soon landed in the grass perfectly on her feet, and dusted herself off before taking off again. Luigi took more of a careful approach to bouncy mushrooms. He knew he could be thrown all over the place if he wasn't careful. So he kept his movements calculated. He jumped to one mushroom, and used the first bounce to get his bearings. The second bounce was to fully fix himself, and the third bounce was to move him to the next mushroom. He repeated this with the second mushroom. The first bounce was to collect himself, the second bounce was to adjust himself, and the third jump was to move on. He soon made it to the cliffside, and did a somersault up to his feet to prevent injury.
Daisy turned herself around and started running backwards. “WELL DONE, WEEGEE!” Daisy reacted with two thumbs up.
“THANKS!” Luigi replied, saluting her.
“NOW FOR THE ULTIMATE TEST!” She declared. With that said, she jumped up and fell backwards off a cliff, leaving only her umbrella behind.
Luigi’s smirk switched to shock and fear as Daisy disappeared under the grass. “DAISY?!” Luigi yelled, sprinting after her and stopping at the cliff. He picked up her lost umbrella and looked over the cliffside. “PRINCESS!” Luigi yelled, seeing as she flew down like a skydiver.
But Luigi kept watching as Daisy adjusted herself and opened her gown skirt to use as a makeshift parachute. Luigi let out a huge sigh of relief when he saw she was okay. With Daisy safe, Luigi focused on himself. He opened her umbrella, and let out a shaky breath. He is not a huge fan of heights, especially falling from such a distance. He took a few breaths in and out and put on a firm face. Do it for Daisy. Do it for Daisy.
Luigi jumped off the cliff and held onto the umbrella with both hands. He had immediately tensed up holding his breath, squeezing his eyes shut and tightening his muscles to prepare for the sudden fall. But…a few seconds later, and…he still hasn’t fallen.
He opened one eye…and then opened his other eye…
Slowly, he began to properly process the fact that he was actually floating down from the cliff! In fact, he was already a quarter of the way down! Luigi smiled when he saw Daisy waiting down there under the green forest area. She was wearing his hat, and just jumping around and cheering him on from below. He smiled as he adjusted the umbrella so he would turn a bit to the left, before floating the rest of the way down. He landed successfully on his feet under the trees and closed the umbrella. “Alright.” Luigi said. “Now GET OVER HERE!” He yelled with a devilish grin.
Daisy squeaked and took off running again, laughing the whole time. It didn’t take long for Luigi to tackle his girlfriend to the ground. “Gotcha!” Luigi declared. “Give it!”
“No!” She giggled as she moved the hat around to dodge his reaches. “No! Never! Mine now!” She reacted, moving it left, right, and down. And then she did something REALLY evil: she brought her hands, and the hat, behind her back with a smirk. “Try and get it now, Weegee~” she teased.
Luigi raised his eyebrows in surprise at first. Wow…she’s good. But he rubbed his hands together and slowly started to wiggle his fingers at her. “Bad idea, Princess~” He teased evilly.
Daisy gasped and grew nervous in a simple snap. “Uh oh.”
Luigi started off with a few pokes to her tummy and sides. And immediately, Daisy began to squeak and squeal. “Tickle tickle tickle~!” Luigi teased.
“Eek! Hehehehe! Luihigihi nohoho! HEEheehee! Noho tickles! HAHA!” She squealed and giggled helplessly as Luigi poked the super vulnerable areas in her middle.
“I won’t stop until you give me back my hat.” Luigi let her know with a smirk.
She brought her right free hand out so she could cover up or defend herself from the tickly fingers of her boyfriend. “Neverhrhrhr!!” She yelled back.
“Aww, really?” Luigi asked. “Well…” He leaned his knuckles back to crack them and wiggled them again. “I might have to take it up a notch.” Luigi said right before skittering and scratching his fingers all over her sides.
This made Daisy squeal another octave higher and throw her head back with full-on laughter this time! “HAHAHAhahaha! HAhaha-HeheheheheheeeEEE!” Daisy squealed yet again as she felt her lowest ribs get unexpectedly touched.
“Oooh! What was that?” Luigi asked playfully as he backtracked his fingers to her first couple ribs. “Was that another tickle spot I just found?” He asked, starting right below the ribs to worsen the anticipation.
“NOhohoho! Ihihit wahasn’t! Ihi swehehehear!” She responded.
“Oh if wasn’t!” Luigi reacted, knowing she was blatantly lying. “Oh that’s so funny you say that!” He squeezed her ribs just once, causing Daisy to arch her back and cackle. “Because your laughter is telling me something completely different.” He started to walk both index and middle fingers up her ribs veeery slowly. “These ribs are telling me ‘Help! I’m too ticklish! It’s driving me crazy!’.” Luigi told her, coming up with a silly high-pitched voice for her ‘talking’ ribs.
This only made Daisy laugh harder. “STOHOP BEHEHEING WEHEHEHEIRD!” She laughed:
“Nah. I love being weird!” Luigi declared. “Or strano, as my papa would say.” He added with a fond smile. “Oh! Hahaha! That reminds me:” He stopped tickling so he could tell her about his father. “My father always referred to us as the ‘bambini strani’ or the ‘weird kids’ growing up.” Luigi mentioned, laying himself down beside Daisy. “And until we understood what that really meant, we would walk around acting like we were royalty!” Luigi quickly began laughing as he reminisced. He sat up and looked at Daisy. “If me and Mario were being mischievous in any way, Papa would chase us around the house yelling ‘Nessuna faccenda divertente!’.” Luigi arched his back as he laughed a bit harder. “Whihihich trahanslated to ‘No funny business!’.” Luigi explained.
Daisy laughed and cooed. “Thahat’s so cute!” She reacted.
“Yeah…” Luigi looked at Daisy and took his hat off her head. “My hat.” He said with a giggle.
Daisy rolled her eyes and giggled. “Nut job.” She teased, poking his side.
Luigi jumped and poked her back. “Margherita.” Luigi said.
“Margarita? What’s that?” Daisy asked, saying it a little off.
Luigi bit his lip as he blushed and scratched the back of his head. “O-Oh…” He looked down and brought his voice to a whisper. “It…means Daisy in Italian.” Luigi admitted.
Daisy’s face lit up. “Say it again!” She reacted.
Luigi blushed a bit more. “M-Margherita.” Luigi said in his traditional Italian accent.
Daisy smiled. “One more time.” She told him.
“Margheri-” Luigi hummed in surprise as he felt her lips touch his. He slowly closed his eyes and leaned into the kiss, cupping her cheek lovingly. She kissed him for a few moments before breaking the kiss to breathe.
Luigi moved some of her hair behind her ear. “I guess you really like the accent?” Luigi asked.
“I love it.” She said softly.
Luigi looked down, blushing an even brighter red.
This only made Daisy laugh. “Plum face.” She teased, poking him.
Luigi jumped and guffawed with surprise, before poking her back. “Carrot top.” Luigi said back.
“Carrot top?!” Daisy gasped.
Luigi smirked. “Yeah. Carrot top.” he replied proudly.
Daisy grew an evil grin. “Oh that’s it.” She jumped onto his waist and started tickling him all over. “Take it back.” She ordered.
“WaaAAHAHAHAhahaha!” Luigi cackled, shaking his head and kicking his feet wildly. “NEVEHEHEHERRR!” He fought.
“Oh, you say that now…” She lifted up his shirt slightly and tucked it in. “But I know I can make you change your mind.” She took a deep breath.
“NoNONO-” Adrenaline kicked in as he tried to sit up.
“PPPPPBBBFFFBBBFFFBFBBFBBTT!” Daisy blew a massive raspberry right onto his now-bare tummy.
And Luigi absolutely lost it! The poor man threw his head back and shrieked super loudly, sounding almost like a girl in the process! “waaaAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHA!” Luigi cackled, letting go of Daisy’s head the moment his lover removed her face from his belly.
“Wanna take back that insult yet?” She asked.
“Hehehehehehe- nohohohoho. Nohoho wahahahay!” Luigi managed to reply as he shook his head.
“I see…Your funeral.” She replied before taking another deep breath. “PPPPBBBFFFFBBBBBFFFBBBBFFFBBBBBTTT!” She let out the raspberry into his upper belly, specifically around the ab muscles.
Luigi squealed somewhat high-pitched. “eeEEEEHEHEHEHEHEHEEEE! HAHAHAHAhahahaha!” Luigi laughed hysterically. When his laughter slowly began dying down, Luigi finally began to give up. “Ohokahay…ohokay. Ihihi tahake back my wohords.” Luigi told her.
She smiled with content and satisfaction before getting up and laying down beside him. “That’s what I thought.” She added.
Luigi blushed a bit before leaning in towards Daisy. “Though, I love when you wear orange. It compliments your eyes.” He admitted, kissing her cheek.
Daisy hummed and raised her eyebrows as a small blush developed on her own face. Not wanting Luigi to see it, she quickly shoved Luigi’s hat down into his eyes. “Don’t be trying to flatter me, Luigi.” She reacted.
“Why? Is it working?” Luigi asked in a way that looked more excited than flirty.
Daisy looked to the side for a moment. “M…Maybe…” She whispered quietly.
Luigi let out a laugh in response, enjoying her flustered side for as long as he could before it inevitably got covered up again. Only Luigi had seen her like this. And frankly, Daisy wanted to keep it that way. And Luigi…He’s just honored to be allowed to see this side of her.

Love At First Sight - The Brobecks // Argyle x Reader
Note: It's been rainy and gloomy lately and my heart is aching for Argyle fluff :( Also, first post of the new year!! I'm excited to write more ^_^
Cw: Fluff, fem!reader (she/her pronouns)
Summary: "A typical boring shift at Surfer Boy Pizza takes a turn for the best when Argyle is met with the girl of his dreams (Fluffy)"
♡♡♡
"Could this be love at first sight, or should I walk by again?"
♡♡♡
Clap! Boom!
Argyle rips his head away from the counter where it was rested previously. It had been raining all day leading to an uneventful shift. Usually, he had something to entertain himself with or friends to chat with, but today he was feeling just as gloomy as the weather.
His eyes look at the clock. 5:03. Well, maybe there will be a dinner rush?
He resumes his previous stance, his mind traveling back into daydream world; When he gets home he's gonna make a sandwhich...He still needs to get that weird sound the van is making checked out...He has nothing to do this weekend, he should make plans with-
Boom!
He's taken out of his thoughts again by a rather loud thunder boom. He sighs and decides to go laze about in the back, doubting that anything is gonna happen.
As he begins to make his way, the door flies open, the hum of rain invading the atmosphere and another clap of thunder echoes throughout the store.
He turns around and his irises nearly turn into love heart shapes. Standing in the store now is the prettiest girl he's ever seen -- no, most beautiful girl he's ever seen.
She's shaking off her umbrella and herself while making her way to the counter. Her hair is pulled into a ponytail, soft eye makeup smudged around her eyes, and her skin is glistening due the water specks splattered along randomly.
"Oh gosh! It is crazy out there!", she chuckles lightly. She looks up at Argyle as he leans against the counter. "I didn't think it would get this bad when I first left."
She gives him a smile filled with enough warmth to melt his heart. He's already head over heels and he just barely met her.
"Mhm", he smiles, his eyes glazed over.
"Um, so I would like to place an order...", she trails off, eyeing him curiously.
"Yeah...oh! Yes, sorry!", he composes himself, taking off his visor to run a hand through his hair. "Yeah, what would you like?"
"Okay, don't judge me for this, but I seriously drove all the way over here for a pineapple pizza" she scrunches her features. "I know people think it's gross, but I've been needing a pick-me-up lately and it's my favorite pizza!"
Argyle can't believe that today is the day he's meeting his soulmate. He always believed in love and soulmates and all that jazz, but now that it's happening for him, it feels like a dream.
"You are amazing, dude", he sighs. She raises her eyebrow, amused by the guy in front of her. "No judgement here! I have always been a defender of pineapple on pizza! In fact, my boss has gotten on my ass about how much I push the customers to try it."
The girl giggles, covering her mouth her hand. He laughs along, glad that she's being charmed by him.
"You're cute...", he says softly. Heat fills the apples of her cheeks as she avoids his eyes. "Like, you have a cute laugh...I like hearing it."
"Thank you...", her eyes look at his name. "Argyle. That's a sick name." Now Argyle's face warms up.
They stand and look into each other's eyes like they're in a movie, the world and the storm dissolving into nothingness.
Boom!
They both twitch at the noise, each looking in opposite directions. She reaches into her bag and pulls her wallet out. She begins to count the dollar bills when Argyle's hand places itself on hers.
"Don't worry about, it's on me", he smiles.
"Oh, I couldn't do tha-"
"Really, don't worry about it." She nods and puts her wallet back in her bag. When she looks up he's disappeared into the back.
She walks over to a table and plops down in a chair. She toys with her fingers as she thinks to herself; He's such a sweet guy...that you only just met...He said I was cute...Probably just being nice, the wind did a number on my hair out there, I just know it...
She rips her compact out of her bag. Her mouth drops a little as she examines her face and hair.
"Oh, jeez." She wipes the smudged makeup away with her thumb and does her best to ruffle her hair and get it looking decent again.
He's so cute...he's beautiful, honestly...and he seems so...fun...but I don't even know him
She's pried away from her thoughts by a pizza being slid on to her table.
"Here you are, dude", Argyle announces. "I assumed you'd wanna stay here since it's still raging out there."
She looks outside and sees it's still terrible.
"Thank you, a lot", she beams. She watches as he walks away, her mouth speaking before she thinks. "Would you sit with me?"
He stops in his tracks. He was hoping to actually talk with her, learn about the girl he'll spend the rest of his life with.
"Yeah, dude, no problem!" He sits across from her and watches as she takes her first bite. She hums with pleasure, eyes closing.
"God, this is so good. Definitely worth almost dying." They both laugh.
They spend the next hour talking, uninterrupted. Every loud thunder clap and flash of lightning is met with no reaction from either person, too absorbed in each other's company. When the storm is reduced to light sprinkling, they both know it's time for her to go.
"This was honestly the best pizza experience I've ever had. Thank you for waiting the rain out with me." She stands up and plays with the strap of her bag.
"Of course. Thank you for making this shift so much better." As happy as he is, Argyle can't help but feel sad too. He wants her to stay, he wants to be by her side forever.
She slowly walks to the door before turning back around. She walks to the table and pulls a pen out of her bag. She grips his hand loosely, pulling it to her.
She scribbles down something before releasing him. Her number...
"I really want to talk again", she confesses.
"Thank God, I do too. The minute you walked in I knew you were my dream girl", Argyle's shoulders drop in relief. She giggles and leans down.
"Call anytime, I'll always be available for my dream boy." She hesitates moving closer to him; You just met him, this is too forward...but you both just admitted you felt something...
She closes the gap, delivering on to him a delicate kiss on the cheek. She turns around and walks out the door, waving her hand over her shoulder.
Argyle places his hand over the spot she kissed, mesmerized by her leaving.
Best. Storm. Ever.

5, 10, 18? 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
i answered 5 already!
10. Do you enjoy writing dialogue, exposition, or plot the most? depends on what and whom i'm writing. if it's dan and blair, dialogue, LMAO. if it's milofic, i like writing plots that allow dan to keep him. but in general... exposition, probably. that is just the kind of person i am.
18. What is a line/scene you’re really proud of? Give us the DVD commentary for that scene. it's been too long since i wrote gossip girl so you get a jojo extract, haha. no jojo knowledge is necessary for this. here you go:
"Okay,” Noriaki says. His hands, at Jotaro’s back, have begun to rub comforting circles. “Then I’ll tell you the next thing I wanted to say. I’m really proud of you. For navigating this, even though it’s hard. For trying to move forward, to be true to yourself, for everything that comes with an identity that’s so different from what society expects. I don’t know if you identify as queer –”
“I do,” Jotaro murmurs, closing his eyes and pressing himself closer against Noriaki’s shoulder.
“Nice, we have that in common. I didn’t want to umbrella term you if you weren’t, you know, comfortable with that.” Jotaro can tell that Noriaki is smiling, from the way his voice sounds. Probably a small smile, and a kind smile, that much is obvious. “But yes, any kind of queer identity comes with its own challenges. Unlearning what society expects of you. Learning to accept it and be proud of yourself. Figuring out what you want your life to look like, and moving in that direction. And I’ve been through that, and I know it’s hard. I don’t want to overstep or compare our experiences, because you’re aroace and I’m not, so of course it’s different, and you’re probably going through things I haven’t been through and can’t relate to. But it’s similar, too, just in terms of being the person you are and not the person people expect you to be. And I’m proud of you, for all of it. I believe in you. And I’m glad you told me. Thank you, Jotaro.”
dvd commentary: so, i wrote this scene after coming out ~properly to one of my best friends as trans - she'd always known that i wasn't cis because i said as much, but i hadn't really explained or elaborated or gone beyond that. and writing this bit, i wanted it to be something that like, anybody who's queer can identify with.
this fic is very centred around jotaro's aroace identity + how he struggles to come to terms with that, but there are other queer characters who aren't aroace AND who support him, because that's something i wanted to portray. jotaro is someone i just don't see as allosexual or allorom, my usual headcanon for him is demi, but i wanted to dip my toes into the aroace pool. sometimes you just look at a character and you feel a strongggg headcanon about them. like, you know. bisexual dan humphrey. i see it, you see it.
and well, noriaki. i love noriaki, i joke that he's the closest thing to a canon queer guy we got in jojo p3 (jojo has different parts, and this is a part 3 fanfic.) his idea of flirting with a woman is to compare her voice to audrey hepburn, which, hello? a heterosexual man would never. his entire vibe also is very undiagnosed adhd gamer hyperfixater who lives on energy drinks alone (and i'm not pulling this out of my ass, other people have ficced this up and made fanart of it.) all that said, he's very eloquent and intelligent, so i really like writing him, and writing this dialogue made me feel like i definitely did justice to his character.
thank you for attending my jojo ted talk. we will resume gossipgirlposting in 3...... 2......

Present Past And The future
Warning: curse words and season 3 spoilers!!
Sparrow Ben x Reader Part 1
Your powers and abilities include telekinesis, energy manipulation, and some form of neuroelectric interfacing that allows y/n to both read thoughts and also give your targets waking nightmares. (Just like Wanda’s powers (if you don’t know, she’s a Marvel character). (Before Y/N became Hargreeves she was Y/n Quinn) Length: 985 words
Tumblr media
When the Umbrella Academy prepared for their fight with the Sparrow Academy, Y/N Comes inside the living room with a confused look and asks “Wtf is going on?!” A mysterious young man with many knifes all over his clothes calls your name. Jayme, Bens sister, replies by saying “she is Ben’s wife you perv”. That’s when things took an odd turn. Marcus turned around and he responded with “you got 30 seconds to leave or we’ll beat the shit out of you”. It seems like they were going to leave until the member with a hat faced towards  Ben and you saying “you look way better alive Ben and Y/N, they’re in life and dead together isn’t that adorable’’. Ben replied to him by saying ‘’shut your mouth’’. Ben walked over to him and punched the guy in the face, which made the guy with the hat take a hit on the ground. At that moment a fight started between the Sparrow and the Umbrella.
‘’Hey you didn’t have to do that!’’ shouted the biggest one at Ben.
‘’Um yes he did” you responded facing him. It didn’t take long before everyone started to fight. Marcus was fighting the big one, Fei the pretty one, Christopher fought the man with the knifes, Ben and…the little kid? Alphonso, Sloane, Jayme and you watched Fei kick the pretty girls ass. Until she said something that made Fei freeze, that’s when Alphonso and you joined the fight.
‘’Hit me. C’mon, hit me in the face.’’ Alphonso said just before she hit him as hard as she could, the punch reverberating back to her face. Walking slowly towards her you kick her and before you could kick her again she disappears. When everyone had been thoroughly dealt with you meet back up with the others in the living, watching Marcus kick the big guy his ass.
‘’Thai food for dinner?’’ Fei asks to mixed opinions. ‘’What about fine Italian? They ask, annoyed at everyone’s indecisiveness. ‘’Marcus stop’’ you say. ‘’Not yet’’ Marcus responds and starts to finish the called out sibling of the big guy. Making Marcus look up let the big one go. Focusing on the one that escaped you go after him, hunting him like a cat and dog. Stopping to hear his footsteps you track down where he is.
‘’Where are you going?’’ you say standing about 5 feet away from him. ‘’we were just starting to have fun.’’ You said jokingly. ‘’Look I don’t want to hurt you Y/N. I mean we both know I could’’ he says laughing
‘’Oh fuck you’’ you say not taking your eyes off him as he tries to go around you. Circling him you reveal your knife. ‘’Nice knife too dangerous to play with though.’’ he says while walking to you. C’mon we both know this isn’t you, you were so kind sweet and wouldn’t dare to hurt a soul,’’ he gets closer, close enough to touch you. Becoming freaked out by what they all said about you and your husband being dead. Deciding that you won’t hurt him, and saying he should ‘’Go,’’ He runs to a different part of the house. Resuming where you were with the rest of your family, you stand over the person who distracted Marcus. Just as you were about to punch them, they sent a powerful blast that threw everyone backwards. Hitting your head on one of the many ornament things in the room. You started to see everything blurry. Ben is saying something to you but understand nothing and then drops to the floor.
‘’Y/n Past Before she became a Sparrow 2017 12 January”
Y/n just came in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario, She always stayed at one place and decided  it was nice to finally see the world.
She needed to go to the bank to take cash. Everything was peaceful until some robbers came with weapons. Y/n didn’t know about the Sparrows back then, she was scared and used her powers to make them all fall. The doors opened and Y/n and many other people ran for their life while the sparrows were being in shock. ‘’Wtf happened!’’ Ben said ‘’Idk let’s check the cameras.’’ Marcus responds. They watched the camera footage and were in surprised  to see someone with such strong powers. ‘’Fei find her and lets go home’’ Marcus said. Jayme nods and replies with ‘’Maybe she is one of us?  Marcus shrugs, ‘’Maybe let’s find out and make a plan at home.’’
“Did you find anything at the academy’’ asked Sloane. Fei shook her head. ‘’We are going to need a plan if we find her.’’ Ben said ‘’Let’s just talk to her before we do anything.’’ Ben nods his head you’re your direction ‘’oh fuck I hope no one saw that.’’ You said to yourself walking back and forth while being worried.
The next day Ben walks around the streets and sees you walk around like a lost puppy. ‘’Do you need help?’’ Ben asks while looking friendly at you. You looked up at him and nodded replying ‘’yea I’m kind of lost.’’. Ben puts his hand on your Shoulder, ‘’Well, where do you need to go?’’ he asks while looking around. ‘’I am actually looking for a clothing store, I need new clothes.’’ You responded shrugging while staring embarrassed at the floor.  Ben grabs your hand and got your attention.  ‘’I’m Ben, are you new in town’’?
This was part 1 I’m making part 2 right now please tell me if you like it and want more

chapter 4: run girl run
the umbrella academy x reader
disclaimer: i do not own the plot/storyline of the netflix tv series and i do not own the umbrella academy characters.
warnings: mentions of blood
masterlist
"you will be working on locating number five instead" reginald instructed the young girl. she raised her head in shock.
"what?"
"come, we must work in solitude" he ignored her confusion, uncaring for her feelings as usual. he lead her down the stairs. she only remembered coming down here once as a child, it was when vanya was sick. reginald showed her to a vault like room. she stared at it, unsure.
"you will be training down here from now on, your siblings will not disrupt you down here"
the h/c haired girl stared at the room with wide eyes. her siblings wouldn't disrupt her or she wouldn't disrupt them..?
————————————————–
"like i said to your son earlier, any information about the prosthetics we build is strictly confidential. without the client's consent i simply can't help" lance biggs sat in his office chair, staring at klaus as he talked. five stood beside the chair y/n sat in, hands in pockets and annoyed.
"well, we can't get consent if you don't give us a name" five leaned in, gritting his teeth.
"well, that's not my problem" lance shrugged, "sorry, now there's really nothing i can do so.."
"oh, what about my consent?" klaus looked up now, gaining five and y/n's attention. what was he doing? "who gave you permission to lay your hands on my son?"
"what?" the other three people in the room all spoke in unison.
"you heard me"
"i didn't touch your son" lance argued, glancing at five.
"oh, really?" klaus begun to lean forwards, moving to stand up. "well then how did he that swollen lip then?"
"he doesn't have a swollen lip-" lance was cut off as klaus struck five across the face. five touched a hand to his now bleeding lip, glaring at klaus in confusion.
"and, what about my daughter? how dare you lay a hand on her. she's so sweet and innocent" klaus turned to y/n now, gesturing to her. she awaited a hit now, sure he was going to punch her. "how could you assault her like that?" and just as she thought he slapped a hand across her face, leaving a bright red hand print.
"i want it. name please, now" klaus turned back to lance, leaning on his desk. the doctor raised a shaky finger at him.
"you're crazy"
"you got no idea" klaus laughed breathlessly before taking notice of the snow globe resting on the desk. he picked it up smiling as he read it. "'peace on earth' that's so sweet" y/n jumped in surprise as he smashed it over his head, groaning in pain. he held his hands to his face for a moment before looking back up, hair dripping with water and glitter. blood dripped down the side of his head.
lance quickly dialled a number into the phone, lifting it to his ear. he was still in shock, "i'm calling security- what are you doing?!"
y/n stood and gently gripped five's blazer sleeve, pulling him back as klaus ripped the phone from lance's grip. five glanced at her in confusion but then realised what was happening as he barely missed an elbow to the face as klaus dramatically cried into the phone.
"there's been an assault in mr biggs office and we need security now, schnow!" klaus slammed the phone back onto the table before leaning close to lance. "here's what's gonna happen grant"
"it's lance-"
"in about 60 seconds, two security guards are gonna burst through that door and they're gonna see a whole lot of blood and they're gonna wonder what the hell happened and we're gonna tell them that you, beat the shit out of us" klaus breathed for a moment standing up straight now, staring the doctor down. "you're gonna do great in prison grant, trust me, i've been there. little piece of chicken like you, oh my god you're gonna get passed around like a.. you're gonna do great, that's all i'm saying" klaus waved his hand, smiling.
five smirked now, proudly standing beside klaus. y/n nervously stood behind five, watching over his shoulder.
"jesus, you're a real sick bastard" lance stared up at him, stunned.
"thank you" klaus spat out a piece of glass.
————————————————–
"focus, number eight!" reginald shouted once again, frustrated as she failed once again to find her missing brother. she squeezed her eyes closed tighter, trying to ignore his insults.
it had been almost 6 years since five had disappeared and around 1 since ben died. she had spent that year working on finding her brother only to be unsuccessful. it was like he had dropped off the face of the earth, she didn't know how her father expected her to find him.
she needed to focus. her eyes glazed over again as she opened them, turning black for the sixth time that hour. her hands glowed a soft white colour in her lap as her powers worked. she couldn't hear her father anymore.
she opened her eyes slowly to see destruction. where was she? she notices a store behind her, flames still burning endlessly upon rubble. carefully she walked into what was left of the department store. there sat a mannequin in a white top with black dots, only the top half of the mannequin was still undamaged, she had a single arm and no hair but what was left of her body was fine. suddenly someone walked through y/n. she stared at the boy for a moment, recognising him as her missing brother.
"five..?"
————————————————–
klaus sat atop the bench while five sat across from lance who searched through the files. y/n stood in between the two, arms crossed and guarded as she watched everything over klaus' shoulder. her face still slightly hurt, hand print clearly visible.
lance nervously flicked through the file five was looking for before pausing as he read it.
"huh.. that's strange"
"what?" five snapped impatiently,
"uh the eye, it hasn't been purchased by a client yet" lance looked up at him now,
klaus jumped off the bench, stepping behind lance. "what? what do you mean?"
"well, our logs say that the eye with that serial number.." klaus stepped over to his other side and leaned over his left shoulder. "this can't be right, it hasn't even been manufactured yet. where did you get that eye?"
lance, klaus and y/n all looked to five. where did he get that eye?
————————————————–
he was a little older than she remembered but he was definitely the same boy that ran away all those years ago. he didn't answer her voice, not hearing her at all. she frowned, watching as he dug through what was left of the store. he was searching for something useful.
while he dug through scraps she went back to the beautiful mannequin. she was surprised at how it had managed to stay okay through all of this destruction around them. she reached a hand out to touch her before she heard five's voice. had he seen her?
"five" she smiled, turning to him only for him to walk right through her again. she frowned, why couldn't he see her? she tried to grab his arm but her hand only phased through. she was like a ghost.. where was she? where was five? "five, can you hear me?" she stood in front of him, trying everything to get his attention.
"five? five!" why couldn't she help him? she just wanted to help. she felt so useless, watching him walk around and gather materials. she couldn't speak to him, he couldn't hear her..
————————————————–
"well, this is not good" five breathed out in annoyance as they exited the building.
"i was pretty good though right? 'yeah, what about my consent, bitch?'" klaus grinned, giddy as they stepped out. y/n sighed at her brother, trailing behind.
"klaus, it doesn't matter" five snapped, stopping on the last step to glare at him. klaus stopped just after, turning to face him.
"what? what? what? what's the big deal with this eye anyway?" klaus carelessly threw his hand in the air, not at all bothered.
"there's someone out there who's going to lose an eye in the next seven days. they're going to bring about the end of life on this earth as we know it" five spoke seriously, stressed.
y/n's eyes narrowed. that's where he had been..
————————————————–
she felt herself being pulled away, like someone was tugging her. she fought, wanting to stay, she needed to help him. she needed to tell five he could get back, she could help him, she would.
she continued to call for him even though she knew it was useless. she wasn't able to help him no matter how hard she tried. she was like a ghost. five finally stopped rummaging, now noticing the mannequin behind her.
"how did you.." he spoke softly, he even sounded the same. god, she missed him. she almost broke down again as he walked through her, picking up the mannequin softly. just as y/n faded she reached her hand out, trying to touch him. her hand instead gripped the mannequin. she shouted in pain as she felt like she was being torn apart. she squeezed her eyes shut hoping the pain would stop.
when her eyes opened again she found herself in that same room with her father scowling down at her. he watched her for a moment, for once allowing her to calm down. she slowed her breathing, wiping away the tears on her cheeks, bitterly.
"report, number eight?" reginald asked, impatiently glaring.
"i.." she paused, she couldn't tell him. she would find five on her own if she had to but she couldn't tell him, she wouldn't. she was a failure. she couldn't tell him she couldn't do it, the punishment would be too great. "i didn't find him.."
reginald clicked his tongue in disappointment. "you are dismissed until further notice. training will not resume"
"what? but what about five-"
"number five is gone and you can do nothing to help him if you keep failing, number eight. you are too weak. you are dismissed" he snapped, narrowing his eyes, daring her to talk back again.
she stayed silent.
————————————————–
klaus paused before ignoring five's ominous tone, "yeah, can i get that twenty bucks like now or what?"
"your twenty bucks?" five stared at him in disbelief.
"yeah, my twenty bucks"
"the apocalypse is coming and all you can think about it getting high?" five got up in klaus' face, annoyed. how could he not care that the world was ending?
"hey, um.. five?" y/n tried to diffuse the situation before anything could happen. she didn't need another family fight.
"well, i'm also quite hungry" "tummys-a-rumbling, grr" klaus grinned, patting his stomach and imitating gurgling sounds.
"you're useless.." the boy clad in uniform mumbled, incredulous. "you're all useless!" he begun to walk away to the stairs of the building.
"five? hey, come on. i'm sure we can do something else to stop the-" y/n smiled softly, walking behind him, holding his blazer sleeve. klaus interrupted her.
"oh, come on, you need to lighten up, old man" he stayed where he was, exasperated. "klaus!" y/n scolded, sitting beside five only to be ignored. "hey, you know i've just now realised why you're so uptight! you must be horny as hell. all those years by yourself, that's gotta screw with your head, being alone" he acted sympathetic as he sat on five's other side. y/n rolled her eyes, he was definitely just doing this for his money.
"well, i wasn't alone" five stared off while he fiddled with his fingers.
"oh? pray tell" klaus turned, interested.
five looked up now, reminiscent. "her name was dolores, we together for over 30 years"
"30 years? oh wow, god, the longest i've been with someone was.. i don't know.. three weeks?" five's eyebrows furrowed, bored. he looked around for an escape. "and that's only because i was so tired of looking for a place to sleep-" he noticed a cab driving by and took y/n's hand before blinking into the cab. "he did make the most fantastic ossobuco though, it was.. five? y/n?"
the pair appeared the back of the cab, scaring the driver. "don't stop. just keep going" five instructed before leaning out the window and saluting condescendingly at klaus.
"hey, hey, hey, hey! what about my money?!" he shook his hand, angrily yelling at them.
————————————————–
"y/n, dear" grace smiled at her, standing in the doorway to the library. her siblings stood around their mother, all ready for bed. she was going to tuck them in. "it's bed time, come now, let's get you ready"
y/n stared at her books for a moment before ultimately sighing and following along. she brought two with her though. diego walked beside her, as grumpy as usual and only there because he was a mommy's boy. his eyebrows furrowed in confusion however at the books in her hands.
"why do you need books on physics and probability?" y/n looked up at him, surprised he was talking to her. usually her siblings ignored her now that she wasn't part of their missions. she stared at him for a moment, deciding whether to tell him or not. with a glance at the cameras in the room she decided against it.
"none of your business" she muttered quietly, curling her arms around the books, holding them to her chest. it gave diego a look at the equations written on her arm though. what was she up to?
he dropped it nonetheless. he didn't care too much if he was being honest, what she did was her business.. for now.
she was going to find him. she had to. with her books splayed out around her she made sure to stay to the quiet corner of the library, the one no camera in this house reached. loose sheets and notebooks filled with equations sat messily in front of her, decorating her wide array of books. if she could only tell five she could help him. he was surely smart enough to figure this out on his own but how long would it take him? she wanted him to come back sooner not later.
"come on, you can do this" she clenched her hands into fists, glowing white as she focused. her eyes turned black and she looked around. she couldn't move, she was stuck. she noticed five walking around but her body wouldn't do what she wanted it to. he walked over now however, did he finally see her? he smiled, taking a seat beside her. she noticed a book in his hand but she couldn't read what it was. he scribbled in it, focused. the only she noticed was that she was sat in red wagon, unmoving and unblinking. what was wrong with her?
five wrote down a few more numbers, showing her what he had written so far. it was similar to what sat beside her earlier. "i've almost got the equations dolores"
what..? her name wasn't dolores?
she gasped as she was shaken back to reality. looking up she found a concerned looking klaus with diego a few feet behind him.
"oh god" klaus sighed in relief as her eyes turned back to normal. "i thought you died or something"
"idiot, if she was dead her powers wouldn't have been working" diego scoffed although he too looked quite relieved she was okay.
"what were you doing?" klaus sat beside her now, staring at the numerous equations in front of him.
"what are you doing? shouldn't you be training or something?" she frowned, annoyed at having been caught and interrupted.
"we asked you first" diego countered, crossing his arms.
"i was practicing, nothing you should be concerned about" she waved it off, packing up her books and notes.
"it looks like a lot more than practicing, eight" he moved closer, stepping on the sheet she was about to pick up. he leaned over her, watching her carefully. she eyed him back, just as daring.
"you don't know what it looks like, two" she stated calmly, still holding the sheet.
"c'mon, y/n, just tell us what you're doing" klaus whined, "what are we gonna do? tell dad? we're not luther"
y/n snorted, remembering the jokes they used to make about luther sniffing dad's underwear. "fine, i was looking for five, dad stopped my training" diego stepped back now, confused.
"why would he stop your training?"
y/n paused, looking guilty. she glanced nervously between the two of them before waving them down towards her, whispering. "you can't tell anyone.. i lied to dad, i did find five"
"you're kidding" both boys stared at her in disbelief.
"why would you l-lie? w-w-w-what are you going to do if h-h-he finds o-out?!" diego freaked out now, his stutter coming out in his nervousness.
"he's not going to find out. he doesn't care about me now, i'm practically useless to him now" she shrugged,  continuing to stack her papers again. "besides i can't move or talk to five whenever i find him, i just.. exist. i'm like a ghost or something. i still need to figure out how to communicate with him" she sighed heavily. first, she wanted to figure out what book he was reading. she had never seen it before.
————————————————–
"what are we doing?" y/n and five stood outside the department store.
"i thought i said no questions until later" he raised an eyebrow at her. "we're just here to get something" she shrugged and he held her arm before blinking them inside. they walked around for a moment, using five's flashlight.
"oh my god! five look!" y/n gushed, noticing postcards on a stand. "they have so many cities!" he stared at her for a second, confused by her fascination before remembering she had never really left the house. she gasped suddenly, turning around and holding up a fluffy bunny keychain. "it's so cute!"
a small fond smile grew on five's face as she took interest in the small, almost useless items that the store had to offer. with a sad look she turned to him, still holding the white bunny keychain. "five.. can i keep it?"
he paused, he was about to take dolores so he didn't see why not. if he said no he would be hypocritical.
"fine. but don't touch anything else, okay? we can't risk getting caught" he nodded before walking away. y/n grinned, hooking the keychain into her belt loop before looking around.
five finally found dolores, looking up at her. "dolores.. it's good to see you"
"i've missed you, obviously.. well, it's been a rough couple of days" y/n couldn't see who he was talking to but heard his voice. she frowned, he had gone through a lot.
suddenly five yelled, "no!" and then there were gunshots. y/n dropped to the floor, praying five was alright. she ducked behind a gardening stand. five appeared beside her and she almost screamed. he held a finger to his lips, shushing her. she nodded, watching as he grabbed a spade, testing it's swing before disappearing again.
she watched as he fought one of the two shooters, slicing their arm before running again. she couldn't see him after that, not until he came back over with a bag, pulling her with him. they ducked down one of the aisles and he tried to spatial jump but it didn't work. he was too tired.
"shit.. come on!" he tried again. in a last effort they ran and jumped over a stall, caught as the lights from the guns shone on them like headlights. both five and y/n froze.
"got him" the one with the pink mask spoke before they were distracted by sirens. five used this to their advantage, pulling y/n out and away from the line of fire. they stayed behind a stand, waiting for the masked shooters to leave before they did themselves.
as they sat y/n finally got a good look at dolores, freezing when she realised she knew the mannequin.
"oh my god.."
"what?" five furrowed his eyebrows at her.
"you were in a relationship with.. a mannequin?" she looked up at him in disbelief. the mannequin was not her issue though.
"look, if you have a problem-" he glared, ready to defend himself but she shook her head.
"no, no. i get it.. it's just.. " she trailed off awkwardly.
"what?" he snapped, getting impatient.
"five.. my soul was in that mannequin"

↷ SUMMARY ↶
A new special move!
The third day of summer training camp and the temperature was still rising. Under the cool shade of the tree upon the hill, you, Shimizu, and Yachi were preparing cool electrolyte drinks for the team. Usually, you three done it in the gym but experiencing how hot the weather was, you three decided brought the bottles uphill so the team could drink immediately in order to avoid dehydration.
“That’s a different type of brand you use, [Name]-chan.” Shimizu commented, seeing a different colored package of electrolyte drink in your hand.
“Oh, Kageyama-kun usually used this particular brand,” you replied, pouring the powder into the bottle and turn the lid close, then you shook the bottle so it would mix thoroughly. Your upperclassman hummed in understanding from your answer.
While it was the third day of training, it’s also marked the three weeks of Kageyama and Hinata not talking to each other even though it didn’t hinder their practice. It worried you a bit, but you knew the two of them would talk eventually.
“Great work,” you said, offering the bottle to Kageyama when he and the rest of the boys arrived uphill. He rasped out a thank you before immediately downing the drink.
“Hinata-kun, this is yours!”
“Thank you!”
You purposely be the one to delivered the bottle straight to the person–Hinata was keeping a quite distance from Kageyama and you didn’t want to force the orange-haired boy to get closer with the raven-haired setter.
“Wuaah, it’s nice and cool,” Hinata sighed in content, placing the bottle upon his cheek–enjoying the coolness radiating from it. After satisfied in cooling down his face, he soon downed the drink. Now that you think, you rarely talk to Hinata these days with him busy with his practice.
“[Name]-san, is your arm okay?” ah, he must be referring to the long cut on your arm.
“It’s already a month, Hinata-kun, it’s healed but it does leave a scar,” you lifted your arm, showing a faint lighter line present on your skin where your wound previously at.
“Oh, sorry,” frowns don’t suit Hinata at all–he’s a bright ball of beaming energy, a warm figure who could lit your day in an instant. It’s his nature, and seeing him becoming dejected from the start of the day was worrying.
“It’s fine, Hinata-kun, it’s not your fault anyway. It was an accident,” you dismissed his apology. “And if you need anything, just call out for me, okay? I’ll do my best to help you.”
You didn’t know what force that made you say those words, but you know you couldn’t take it back–you didn’t intend too anyway. Hinata always worked hard by himself, so you want to support him as much as possible. The orange haired boy looked taken a back before a giving you that infamous wide, sunny grin.
“Okay! And call me Shoyo, then! I call you by your first name so it’s fair if you call me like that too!”
“Alright, then, Shoyo-kun.”
.
.
The temperature was still rising–the burning hot atmosphere exhausted your boys even further than before. It would get rough, both for their body and mind eventually. You could feel your skin prickling–the tension was rising faster than before, tiredness building up, and sooner or later it would get to them.
“Damn it!” you gripped on your hand a little tighter after hearing Hinata’s scream of frustration. He failed to get the ball over the net because he lost in terms of strength with Lev. For the past three days, he couldn’t hit any ball comfortably, and with the battle of height always looming over him he had nothing to fight it with.
The match continued–Nishinoya tossed the ball perfectly, and then Kageyama went up to made a toss. Hinata, noticing there was a chance for a quick immediately jumped. Even though the ball barely being hit, it still got over the net and fell on the opposite court.
“You held back, didn’t you!?” his upperclassmen’s praises went over his head as Hinata yelled in anger at Kageyama.
“Held back?” the raven-haired setter also didn’t like the approach, glaring back menacingly. “Me? With volleyball?”
Thankfully before a fight could break, Takeda-sensei already asked for a time-out–with that, at least the two could cool down for a bit and not causing ruckus on the court in the middle of a match.
“That wasn’t the falling toss!” Hinata’s next words, caught you off guard. He noticed something’s different with the toss? It looked the same to you.
“It wasn’t?” Takeda-sensei questioned.
“I mean, looking back, it technically may not have been.” Coach Ukai answered, a thumb under his chin. “I think what just happened is that the toss right now wasn’t like the falling tosses he’s been getting, but more of a parabola.”
It clicked in your mind–the abrupt change suddenly made sense. “Does that mean Kageyama-kun is trying to get Shoyo-kun to hit the ball no matter what?”
“It’s on purpose?” Yachi turned to look at you.
“But what for?” Shimizu’s brows furrowed in confusion.
“Hinata hasn’t hit a spike comfortably for a while now,” Coach Ukai was the one who answered to their question. “That’s pretty stressful for a spiker. Kageyama might have subconsciously been worried that Hinata’s might not play as well because of that.”
You frowned in worry, seeing how Hinata still rooted on his spot despite Tanaka’s attempt to dragged him off the court. And it also worried you that Kageyama was looking utterly dejected–maybe he realized for a moment that he pulled his punches. Thankfully it was only a moment–everything was resolved rather quickly and practice resumed.
.
.
After practice at night, you found yourself helping Bokuto, Kuroo, and Akaashi in the third gym. The owl captain immediately dragged you away as soon as the last practice was over (you swore you could hear Tanaka and Nishinoya’s screams of fury), so here you were, throwing balls to Akaashi so he could toss it to Bokuto. Surprisingly, Tsukishima was present as well–now, he’s learning to block with Kuroo’s guidance.
“Oh? Tsukki, [Name]-chan, did you bring a friend today?” Bokuto suddenly asked, which confused the two of you.
“Pardon?” Tsukishima questioned.
When you threw a look over your shoulder, you immediately took a notice of an extremely familiar figure with orange hair by the door. Calling out, you gave him a smile. “Shoyo-kun!”
“[N-Name]-san!”
“What happened to your partner?” Tsukishima asked.
“Kageyama’s practicing on his own again,” Hinata answered. “I was trying to get Kenma to throw me tosses, but he ran away after the fifth one.”
“It’s amazing that you got Kenma to even give you five during practice,” Kuroo remarked.
“So, please let me practice with you!” another surprised for you because Lev showed up and asking the same thing.
“Lev!”
“Oh, Hinata,” the silver-haired boy then noticed you and immediately waved his hands enthusiastically. “Otohaku-chan!! You’re here too!!”
“Lev, quit flirting with the manager and I thought you were practicing receives with Yaku.” Kuroo said and of course, the mention of Nekoma’s libero, Lev stiffened.
“He said I was doing well today, so he let me go!”
From the looks of it, it was no doubt he ran away while Yaku was having a bathroom break or something else that required him for leaving the gym. But Kuroo, being the lenient and laid-back captain he is, dismissed it.
“Well, whatever,” he sighed. “Then, we have the right number of people, so let’s play three-on-three. [Name], you’re in charge of the score.”
Nodding in understanding, you pushed the score board closer and changed the names above–cats and owl, it reminded you of the two captain’s characteristics. You were fine in looking over the match, but this match was quite ridiculous. Thankfully, you’re not the only to think so.
“Um, isn’t this just a bit unbalanced?” Akaashi questioned. He was in the same team with Bokuto and Hinata, whereas the opposite team was clearly having more advantage in height–Kuroo, Lev, and Tsukishima are all above 185cm. Still with the disadvantage he got, Hinata was excited for sure.
The match was interesting to watch–even with the lack of extra height for Hinata’s team, they were still on par with Tsukishima’s team. But soon it was stopped by Yukie and Kaori’s appearance.
“If you don’t wrap soon, the cafeteria will close and you won’t get any dinner.” Yukie informed. “Oh? [Name]-chan, you’re here too? That explains why you don’t show up for dinner.”
Frustration was clear to Hinata because he clearly enjoyed the match and he didn’t want it to end, however, with Kuroo’s reassurance that they would continue this tomorrow, he was back bouncing on his feet. You couldn’t help but smile at the captain’s attentiveness.
“Thank you for cheering Shoyo-kun up,” you said, as the seven of you walked towards the cafeteria. Yukie and Kaori said they had to handle other things first so they couldn’t accompany you (it was hard for them to let you go with the boys). “Today’s not a good day for him so this match definitely cheers him up.”
“It’s nothing, and we probably have to apologize to you too,” Kuroo remarked. “Bokuto’s dragging you here, you stuck with us, and missed dinner. Bokuto, you have an apology to make!”
“That’s right, Bokuto-san, you made Otohaku-san missed dinner.” Akaashi piped up. “Tomorrow she has to wake up early to prepare breakfast, too.”
As if struck by lightning, Bokuto froze and turned stiffly to look at you before he went on a full apology-mode–as far as dropping on his knees, taking your hands in his, and begging for apology. You laughed nervously, but you knew he was sincere with it.
“I’m sorry, [Name]-chan!! I’ll make it up to you!! Do I need to replace you handling breakfast tomorrow!?”
“N-no, it’s alright, I will be fine and you don’t have to apologize, Bokuto-san. I don’t mind helping you practice.”
“Bokuto-san, you’re making Otohaku-san uncomfortable.”
“Have my back for once, Akaashi!!”
.
.
Now that you think of it, your after-practice time was automatically reserved for the third gym. Bokuto would bound towards you, asking for your help as soon as you’re done with your managerial duties. With your nod, he then reached out for your hand and pulled you to ran towards the third gym.
Akaashi already informed you to just dismissed his captain, but you found yourself couldn’t possibly rejected Bokuto’s invitation–especially when his eyes practically shining, you didn’t have a heart to ruin it. That goes for Daichi also, he even offered to talk to Bokuto about it if it bothers you. You were grateful for the two’s offer, still if you could help, you want to be helpful as possible.
It’s probably the third time you helped them practice by throwing balls and keeping an eye on the score board. Well you did your usual managerial duties as well–refilling the water bottles, giving them towels, sometimes wiping the floor when it became too slippery. Kuroo mentioned that you didn’t have to do it since your work hour was over and him, Bokuto, Akaashi, and Lev weren’t from your team.
Again, you dismissed it–it’s not a heavy duty, anyway. In between water break, Tsukishima asked about why on earth Kuroo wanted to help them when they would end up being rival in the end.
The captain cleared his throat. “I want to make the Battle at the Garbage Dump a reality. It’s what our coach wants more than anything. But who knows how much longer our coach is going to continue coaching? So, because of that, we need you guys to keep winning too.”
Overall, you understood Kuroo’s reason, but there was something that piqued your curiosity.
“Uhm, I know this question might sound strange, but, what is Battle at the Garbage Dump?” you asked.
“Oh, that’s right, we haven’t explained anything to Yachi-san and [Name]-san!” Hinata said.
“To put it simple, it’s like destined match between Karasuno and Nekoma.” Tsukishima explained. “It’s been going since the previous Coach Ukai’s time.”
“Karasuno and Nekoma will climb up until they could go to nationals and then will meet up on the orange court.” Kuroo grinned, reaching up to ruffle your hair lightly.
“That’s… so cool,” you muttered. You couldn’t find the exact words to express the awe you’re feeling. A match in the orange court between destined rivals, it’s almost like straight up from a manga or a movie. Other teams could research but playing against a team that knows you really well is going to be an absolute thrill–probably the best match Karasuno could get.
“Right, right!?” Hinata went up to you and asked excitedly.
“Come on. Let’s get back to practice!” Kuroo informed and all of you immediately went to your assigned place.
Practice went on–still between the Owl and Cat group. When Bokuto had to score against someone tall like Lev and Tsukishima, he didn’t kill the ball instead he hit it purposely against the block–returning it to the team for a more proper toss. Knowing how Hinata was hungry for development, surely he wouldn’t miss this.
After Bokuto managed to kill the ball with an intense straight towards the back line, he instantly approached him to ask about it. Soon, the game continued. This time, it was Lev who went for the score but managed to be soft-blocked by Akaashi. The last ball went to Hinata and you witnessed an absolutely underhanded way of blocking.
“Ah! Hey!” Bokuto screeched, also feeling the unfairness. “You guys are playing dirty!”
Hinata had to face three blockers above 185 cm with not a good toss.
“Nowhere to aim,” you muttered, narrowing your eyes in slight annoyance.
However, Hinata intended to face them–he hit the ball to Lev’s fingertips and it flew over before dropping to the inner-side of the opposite court. He jumped high enough and landed on his back instead.
“Shoyo-kun, you’re amazing!” running and kneeling beside him, you praised. Technically, you’re supposed to check on him but it flew over your mind for a second. “It’s an amazing block-out!”
“Did…you actually aim for that?” Kuroo questioned in disbelief. “That was an amazing wipe!”
“Well, I did aim for Lev’s fingertips.”
“What!?” Lev took a full offense in this.
Still, Bokuto was impressed by the lack of fear the younger had. The owl captain was showering him with praises as the rest of you watched from the sidelines. It went well until Bokuto proposed a ‘special move’–which made almost everyone dropped their beliefs, Hinata seemed to be excited by it though.

the three times you made akutagawa blush, and the one time he acted on it — akutagawa ryuunosuke
akutagawa x gn!reader (feat. a wild gin appearance)
genre: fluff
warnings: mention of a changing room in the third one
a/n: *kicks your door down* I AM HERE YET AGAIN BRINGING YOU AKU CONTENT— okay, but i hope you like this one. we rarely get to see canon soft aku, so i'm scared of making him ooc... pls dont diss me. i hope u like this and hopefully it brings you comfort! <3
i.
the pitter-patter of the rain droplets kissing the window of your living room made for a nice background noise while you made some hot chocolate, humming softly to yourself one of the songs akutagawa had showed you the other day.
said boy was sitting on the couch, head resting against the glass and eyes closed. smiling at the sight you put extra marshmallows on his cup, knowing he loved the sweets despite him denying it every time someone else asked him about it. you put the two mugs on the windowsill, tapping your lover on the knee so he would wake up from his little nap. the sight of his cup as he woke up made him groan, remembering gin's cheeky smile when she gave it to him —the corny pun making akutagawa raise an eyebrow but he took it nonetheless— causing you to snicker while you took a blanket from the top of the sofa, sitting close to akutagawa and wrapping you two in a little blanket coccoon.
you spent the afternoon like that, forgetting about your empty mugs after a while and cuddling closer to your boyfriend, kissing him softly from his neck up until his cheek, biting it jokingly and making him jerk with a horrified expression and a deep blush resting on his pale face. after a while, you suddenly rose your head from its resting position on akutagawa's chest.
"look, aku, it's us." you giggled childishly.
"i told you to drop the nickname, you dummy..."
you pointed at the window with your chin, ignoring his comment.
there on the fog that had formed on the glass you had drawn two stick figures, —one with a little blob on its back— and a heart between them. "it's us" you grinned, looking at him. he didn't know what to say, suddenly overwhelmed with a tightness in his chest he couldn't describe. you always managed to catch him off guard, and he couldn't help but shove your head to his chest as he sniffled quietly. "you're so stupidly adorable" he muttered, and you couldn't stop the joyful giggle that came out of you, tightening your grip around his middle with your heart singing the loudest love serenades to him.
ii.
there was a distant thundering as you walked down the streets of yokohama, hand intertwined with your boyfriend's, sheltered in his coat's pocket. he was holding the umbrella while you talked his ear off, gesticulating animatedly with your free hand. he was wearing the scarf you had given him previously, the red contrasting beautifully against his black signature coat.
"i insist"
"i'm fine, you will get co—"
he got interrupted by your hands around his neck, making him blush at the sudden proximity. taking advantage of his little flustered shock, you quickly fastened your scarf comfortably around his neck. "i can manage a little cold" you smiled at him, taking his pink, soft cheek on your hand, "but you have a lung illness, aku. let me look out for my beloved, yeah?" he nodded, a bit dumbfounded, as you resumed your walk. he stayed silent after that, fighting the tears threatening to spill, for he had never been shown such thoughtfulness, especially regarding his illness. you never failed to make him feel cared for, instead of pitied like people usually did. his hold on your hand tightened, but you didn't notice.
"do you wanna stop and get something to drink? it looks like it might stop raining soon. we could wait it out!" you asked, pointing at the sky to further prove your point. akutagawa nodded with a little smile, noticing your reddened nose and giving it a quick, featherly kiss. blinking, the warmth spread to your whole face, a sudden shyness invading you.
iii.
"i'm not sure about this—"
"hurry up, i wanna see!"
"just shush and come out already!"
akutagawa put his face on his hands, sighing deeply.
he was currently on a changing booth, hiding from your and gin's curious eyes behind the courtains. you three had gone shopping, much to akutagawa's dismay, as kouyou had semi-forced the port mafia to attend yokohama's summer festival, insisting on everyone wearing traditional clothing to get the full experience.
he could already feel you both starting to rush him again, so he just ripped the courtain open, wanting to get this over with. he crossed his arms and looked to the side, huffing.
"handsome as expected!"
"you look amazing!"
he grunted, finally looking at you both, the tip of his ears quickly reddening at the praising words he would never get used to hearing.
after him it was gin's turn, and he looked with soft eyes as you drowned his little sister in compliments, the poor girl a stuttering mess as you held her hands and twirled her around. "you're gonna be the star of the festival!" you exclaimed, attracting some attention to you both and almost making gin pass out from all the attention.
gin excused herself after that, going to get some water to calm herself (and to hide from the other costumer's eyes, who were amazed at her beauty) while you changed into your chosen piece of garment. it fit you well, and you felt beautiful in it, smiling at your reflection. as you came out, you saw akutagawa's eyes comically widening as he covered his face with a poor attempt of a cough, not-really-sneakily looking you up and down before adverting his gaze.
"so?" you twirled slowly, showing him the fit, and posing a bit awkwardly at the end. "what do you think?"
he muttered something but you couldn't hear it since he was covering his mouth, so you came closer to him, asking to repeat it again.
"i-i said you look. you look. um..." he stuttered trying to come up with the right words, making you giggle as you pecked his nose. "i take it as you like it, then" you whispered teasingly, but before you could stand up, he grabbed your face a bit roughly and kissed you, clumsily bumping his nose with yours, breaking apart with shaking hands. "you— you look stunning" he said, looking so deeply into your eyes that you had to break apart, covering your face. "u-uh. thank you, aku." it came out as a squeal for he had caught you completely out of guard with such a rare blatant public display of affection. you two looked really cute, though, and from the corner of your eye you could see gin standing there, giving you a thumbs up.

walk me to the bus stop
bakugou x f!reader
genre: fluff
summary: bakugou suddenly finds a terrified girl hanging to dear life on his arm, which resulted in him walking her to the bus stop daily. but he didn’t mind
a/n: slight OOC bakugou bc he’s quite soft in this fic. ALSO! I wrote this in 3rd person pov bc it starts off with bakugou and the reader as strangers. lmk what you think!
word count: 1.6k
1.02.21
-
It was a gloomy, rainy day as Bakugou stood outside waiting for the bus. His black umbrella keeping him dry as he listened to music through his headphones, distracting him from how tired and hungry he was—also to keep people from starting random conversations with him.
He had stayed late after school, discussing with some students from the support course about his hero costume, planning ways to upgrade his costume with the new moves he had come up with.
Overall, he was satisfied with what they had come up with—not that he would let anyone know. He trusted the support students. It was their job to support the heroes like himself.
Glancing down at his phone, he noticed the bus hadn’t arrived yet like it was supposed to. It must’ve been due to the bad weather, but since Bakugou was in an okay mood, he’d let this slide.
Staring ahead at the random people passing through, Bakugou suddenly felt a small hand wrap around his arm, holding on tight.
His face scrunched up before he whipped his head toward his harasser, ready to blow up at them before their small, shaky voice stopped him.
“Please help me,” she gasped, pressing herself tighter against his arm, “there are two men following me.”
His body fell rigid as he glanced down at her terrified form. Her hands shook against his arm as she stared blankly ahead, afraid of what’s to come.
“Please,” she begged, “save me.”
“Jeez,” Bakugou snarled, startling her from her daze.
Her desperate eyes tearing up before she began to shake her head, hands clawing at him to not leave.
“You kept me waiting at the bus stop, idiot. Didn’t you think I might be worried about you?” the blond continued, staring down at the terrified girl with his brow raised.
Confused, her glassy eyes met with his strong and comforting red ones, and he saw the tension leave her body—she knew she was safe now.
He subtly gave her a signal with his eyes to continue the conversation, “S-Sorry, I didn’t mean to take so long,” she replied with a small smile, thankful for the male.
“Here, you’re getting wet from the rain. Didn’t I tell you to bring your umbrella today? You never listen, do you?” Bakugou starts as he pushes her beneath the umbrella, the two of them sharing before he turns to look over his shoulder.
Two men dressed up in suits were not far behind before suddenly halting from the appearance of Bakugou.
“Whatever, you’re lucky I always wait for you here after school,” he emphasizes, hoping the two men would get the gist and get off her back in the future.
Thankfully, it seems they did. The two men turn a corner as if that was their intended route, leaving the Bakugou and the mystery girl alone and now safe from what could have been a horrible situation.
Bakugou waited a couple of minutes before he turned back towards her, “those two geezers are gone now,” and as soon as those words left his lips, she burst into tears, sobbing into the young man’s arm.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you?” he asked, more confused than worried.
“Thank you so much,” she cried, pulling away from his now damp arm, “I was so scared. They’ve been following me for ten minutes now, I had to keep walking so they wouldn’t figure out where I was going,” she explained, wiping her tears away.
“But then I saw you, and I knew you would be able to help me,” she confesses and Bakugou gives her a questioning look. “I saw your uniform. You’re a UA student.”
“So? What of it?” Bakugou questioned but stopped when he saw the way her bright eyes sparkled, “I knew you were a hero.”
-
Bakugou learned that her name was (Name) and that she went to school a few blocks away from UA and took the same bus to the train station. The bus ride to the train station was a quiet one—granted, Bakugou had his earbuds in, which kept (Name) from starting any conversations with him.
As (Name) followed Bakugou off the bus, she was surprised to see him waiting for her, “which train are you taking?” he asked in his gruff tone, but she gave him a small smile.
“I take the red line, how about you?” she asked, following him towards the train gates, “green, it looks like we’re going in the opposite direction.” he states before turning his back towards the girl, “see ya.”
(Name)’ s mouth opened to say more, her hand reaching out for him, “please don’t leave me,” she wished, but letting her hand fall back to her side, all she could muster out was a “see ya” before turning away from the male to board her train.
The following day, Bakugou’s day resumed like normal. As the school day came to an end, Bakugou wondered if (Name) had gotten home safely. Hopefully he scared those two losers enough to keep her safe.
As Bakugou walked past UA’s gates, a small, timid voice called out for him, “Bakugou-kun?”
Turning his head, his brows furrowed as he noticed her nervously waiting for him, “I-, umm, could you maybe walk me to the bus stop?” she asked, embarrassed, cheeks rosy as she looked down at her feet.
Bakugou glanced over at his friends, their lips curving into a smile, “you guys go ahead,” Bakugou stated, taking a step towards (Name).
“We’ll see you tomorrow, Bakugou!” Kirishima chirps, waving his friend goodbye before walking off.
(Name)’ s eyes widened before she shook her head, waving her hands out in front of her, “I’m sorry! I didn’t know you were going to hang out with your friends! Don’t worry about me, go ahead and-”
“It’s fine,” Bakugou cuts her off, “don’t worry about it.”
Her eyes held his red ones before she looked away guiltily, “I’m still a bit shaken up from yesterday...” she confesses and Bakugou can’t help but pity the girl. He brushes past her, hands in his pockets, before turning to look over his shoulder at her, “Well? Are you coming or not?”
And the way her eyes lit up as she skipped to catch up, Bakugou wouldn’t mind walking (Name) to the bus stop often.
“Thank you, Bakugou-kun,” she says happily, matching his pace.
The walk to the bus stop was a quiet but welcomed one. Bakugou had his hands in his pockets as (Name) strolled along beside him, a lot more confident now that the blond was beside her.
(Name) felt so thankful for the blond, her mouth opened to share her gratitude only until she caught two figures in front of her, dressed up in suits.
A gasp left her mouth before she grabbed onto Bakugou’s uniform sleeve, taking a step behind him, alerting the male right away.
Bakugou used his body to shield the frightened girl before his red eyes landed on the two men, only to find out that they were business men returning from a long day of work. “Of course she would be scared” he thought as he turned to face her.
“They’re just businessmen, (Name),” he stated, listening to how she let out a shaky breath before letting out an awkward chuckle, “Oh, sorry. I just got spooked there,”
His brows furrowed at the way she apologized, “you don’t have to be sorry those losers have you paranoid like this. I’ll walk you to the bus stop as many times as I have to as long as I know you’re safe,” Bakugou confessed, causing her eyes to widen.
“Do you mean that?” she whispers, hands still gripped onto his sleeve. He gives her a small nod before a light blush spread across her face before she glanced down, brows knitted together with a smile, “thank you. I feel very safe with you, Bakugou-kun.”
-
Soon, it became a routine for Bakugou and (Name) to wait for each other before heading down to the bus stop together before parting ways at the train station—even his classmates knew about this infamous (Name).
Bakugou and (Name) would always spill about their days to each other. It was crazy to them how their days could be worlds apart because of the paths of life they were currently walking down.
It didn’t take long before (Name) had finally regained her confidence and strength to walk herself to the bus stop, but she couldn’t find it in herself to tell the blond.
She enjoyed these days with him too much, but it was bound to happen one day.
“UA is turning into a boarding school,” Bakugou starts one day as the two were walking to the bus stop, “which means I won’t be able to talk you to the bus stop anymore.”
(Name)’ s heart dropped at his words. This day had come sooner than she had hoped.
“Oh, well, are you able to hang out around the city after school at all?” she asked, hoping there would still be a chance the two could meet.
“I’m not sure, it doesn’t look like we’ll be out and about,” he finishes with a sigh. His red eyes glance over towards (Name) ’s dejected form before giving resting his large hand atop her head, ruffling her hair, teasingly, “means you gotta be able to walk your little dumbass to the bus stop yourself now.”
A small smile formed on her lips, which caused his heart to relax, “you taught me how to be strong, I think I’ll be okay now.”
Bakugou found himself mirroring her smile. Gathering up the courage, he took her small hand into his with a playful smirk, “just so your forgetful self doesn’t forget what it’s like to have me walking by your side, keeping you from danger,” he teases.
A giggle escaped her lips before she begins to swing their intertwined arms, teasing him on how she knew he was going to miss this.
Yeah, he’d miss this.

How RE Village (8) SOLVED almost every problem that I had with RE Series
Okay - a few weeks ago I made a post that was “The ones that suffer the most” where I showed and explained my main problems with Chris and Jill and the RE series in general
Tumblr media
RE 1 is my fav game of this series and probably one of my all time favs, I player every RE there is to be played except 4 (because I dislike Leon, sry)
Recently, specially after 4, the franchise had a few problems, specially in writing/map design/lore
Resident evil 5 for example (I love this game) but it has it flaws, Chris there is only driven by anger and action - Sheva is used as a tool for lore exposition and to be Chris’s new partner
PLEASE: be aware that game at that generation didn’t have much lore - with some exceptions, like God of War 1 2 3 were a simply game with a simple lore, and the most recent GoW has evolved a little bit in the storytelling
Until we hit rock bottom in RE6 - I know a lot of people like this game, but this is only and action game, bad writing and generic stages.
Chris there is so mistreated that makes me mad (if you want to read more about this go to my other post “the ones that suffer the most”)
Until RE7 appeared, Capcom had a new engine and they wanted to do a game that was more horror like - since RE is know for being a Survival horror game.
I liked 7 - some people complained about Ethan being without emotion and others complained about the mold, a few didn’t like the FEAR vibes from Eveline.
I personally enjoyed the game, I thought RE series was going back on track, that game has it’s problems but it was really nice compared to what we had in 6.
After that game I had a conversation with my best friend and I said that I wanted a game that portrayed Umbrella’s fall since the only game that shows this is Umbrellas Chronicles (and that is most a resume of what happened)
And I said: “Bro, I wish that when they made that game, they could tie some mythological lore and human evolution before Umbrella - using Spencer, this would solve LOT OF STUFF and open new ways to handle this series”
and guess what - this happened in RE8 and kudos to the one writer that did that, i have my gratitude.
RESIDENT EVIL 8 is probably one of the BEST RE games that we had IN YEARS
And I want to address all thing that I loved in this game and do some predictions to what will happen in the next games.
“WELL WELL IF IT ISN’T ETHAN WINTERS” (The Father of the year)
Tumblr media
My father was not a great guy... really, so I want to be the best dad ever, I really want be like Ethan - a guy who is ready to sacrifice and fight every monster in the way to save my family.
Ethan was a character that in RE7 was used to make us fell like that it was us in the Baker’s house, so that is why he didn’t had that much personality (in my opinion) but they changed that in RE8, here he has nice dialogues AND a diary
He has one of the best story line in the whole REverse, a guy that did EVERYTHING in his power to save his daughter - and you saw that playing the game, every sentence line that he delivered, he tried to save others too and even tho Chris said to him stay put ... but he couldn’t, he had to go to the altar, he had to help Chris, he had to go forward and keep going, specially after having the tools to face Heisenberg.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The plea from a father, that was his last wish, after he heard that Mia was alive he knew that someone had to stop that monster, he made a promise to his daughter “Daddy won’t let those weird fairy tale monsters get you” so he trusted Chris, to be the one that teaches his kid how to be brave and strong
I will not address Chris and Rose situation here because this is Ethans part and he deserves completely all the spotlight, his sacrifice was 100x times better than Steve (CV)/Piers(6)
My cheers to Ethan Winters - You have my respect !
Revelations -> RE8
So leaks from earlier times said that RE8 sucked and Revelations 3 was amazing
Revelations FYI is know for using old tales in RE stories
Revelations 1 - Dante’s Inferno
Revelations 2 - Frans Kafka
Revelations 3 - Dracula
But since RE8 sucked, Capcom said to the REV3 team that they could make REV3 become RE8 and they accepted
Revelations series is one of the best in the games, they handle Jill in a way that I love, Claire and even Barry - so they deserve all the spotlight for making this awesome game - you CLEARLY can see that they love this series and that they treat all the characters with the love that they deserve.
Keeping that in mind, they are the same team that made Rev 2 and in REV 2 we have this file here
Tumblr media
So they had a plan for Jill and we can see that in RE8 - I will address that later but keep that in mind - this team cares for the old characters, they were the ones that brought Barry back to the games :V
Chris Redfield
This is a hard one, because he is my fav character and I usually have the most critics regard him, since I’ve expect a lot from Capcom
In the latest games they made him kind dumb, only muscles type of guy and an alcoholic that let all the people in his surroundings die (RE5,RE6,Vendetta)
RE6 treats him the WORST
But in RE8 he had an amazing part in the storyline, it was obvious that he wasn’t evil and they FIXED HIS EYE COLOR - FINALLY
I still don’t like the model face that much but it’s way better than 7 - so I believe Capcom, I still feel that he need more jawline
But let’s go to the most important thing - here he really feels like a squad leader and a veteran, he has his team but he is the one in the front line, he covers and ask for help when he needs, everything about his line delivery makes you feel like “Woah, this guy is a badass, he is not some stupid guy only driven by emotions”
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FINALLY GETTING THIS RIGHT
If you remember my post about the ones that suffer the most / Jill is also in that list and I will talk about her a little bit later but if my guess is right RE8 saved her character aswell
Another thing that I enjoyed here is the fact that he is kind of a mercenary / Neo Umbrella kind of guy, even tho he is one of the founders of the BSAA
So I will give you all my score to this game:
9/10
I won’t give 10/10 because of some technical issues, the cursor lock didn’t work and mouse sensitivity was i dunno, not the best.
RE8 and the future (PREDICTIONS)  - Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, BSAA, Neo Umbrella, Ada Wong and Rosemary
First let’s look Rose
The first time I saw Rose all grown up - I thought to myself : She has the same problem as Eveline (age a lot faster than normal)
But she also absorbed Miranda’s power since the metalicite (something like this) thought that she was a better host. - so maybe she will live longer or something because I doubt that they will do a 14 years time skip.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is not the same as Terra Save logo (Claire’s job) but it kind reminds me of it - her shoes appeared at least 3 times in this cut scene so maybe they are trying to show some hints with this
Tumblr media
She really reminds me of Jodie (Beyond two souls, a game where a girl has a lot of power and the gov uses her in missions and stuff, but she also is learning how to be her own person)
Another thing here is that they don’t have a logo in this car, it really reminds me the car that Chris as using in RE8
Tumblr media
This supports the theory that Chris’s organization is dealing with her instead of the BSAA, the she is a hot headed girl and that she had a lot of powers.
Tumblr media
So here you can say that she is just a kid because she is a teenager, but what if she actually grows older really fast (like Eveline) maybe this is just 1 year later / 2 yrs later. (after RE8)
Tumblr media
So this is the tricky part, this is Chris’s guard/soldier, someone that Chris trust to stand by her side, in my mind I do believe that Chris is kind of a father figure to her, so when this guys says this he is thinking about hot head Chris but she replies “Yeah” thinking about Ethan - (she has the mold memories, so she can actually remember Ethan’s memories)
Now let’s look at this
Tumblr media
BSAA
So in REV1 is hinted that BSAA is not the best organization in the world, but since our heroes work there we think that they are the good guys right ?
In REV 2 (it’s important to remember that the team that created RE8 is the same from the REVELATIONS and they had this file here in REV2)
Tumblr media
This email is from Jill and what does Jill have ? T-Virus
Wesker is a different case since he was a project and she had the vaccine but this would make a lot of sense if they had this tests with Jill to get the T-Virus
If that is the case, they explained Jill’s absence in the main games, could even explain why Chris left BSAA and opened a new window to a lot of possibilities
My Predictions:
- Chris had trouble dealing with BSAA and Jill’s case, he wanted to get her out of there, maybe he removed her from there but that resulted in him being expelled from the force
-Jill may or may not know what they are doing with her blood, but she will have a huge part in the BOW used by BSAA
-Chris is married to Jill (sorry- I had to place this here, in a perfect world he has two kids with her and they all love aunt Rose)
-Chris will hopefully be a father figure to Rose and they will be in a game together since in the end they came to get her
-Rebecca is still involved in BSAA activities (leak from new REV3) if you consider Vendetta canon, she maybe the one that used Jill’s sample of blood to create the virus soldiers
-Barry maybe retired
-I don’t think Leon will be in this game, but he will get his RE4 Rmk
- I do believe RE9 will be release after Code veronica rmk and MAYBE they will do a game about Umbrella’s Fall (Chris and Jill in Europe against Red Queen and BOWs)
But that is it, you can see a lot of elements from old RE games in RE8, they tried to do something really smart and the game felt amazing to play, that was something else and it’s been a while since a player a RE game that made me feel that way <3

GF - Stars Aren’t the Only Things That Glitter
A Drifting Stars AU short, collaborating with @clownwry.
2nd, 3rd, 4th.
~~~~~~~~~~
“Grunkle Ford, look out!”
“Mabel, stay back!”
BANG!
“Mabel… MABEL! HOLD ON! I’M COMING! MABEL!”
~~~~~~~~~~
Mabel looked at the blazing fire, trying to pretend to ignore her great-uncles muttering so she might pick up a swear word, be it alien or English was perfectly fine by her. Mabel didn’t pick up any swears, but she did hear the words “reckless” and “irresponsible” and “inconceivable”. The Listening Game did a fair job of distracting her from the pain on her arm and shoulder. Except when Grunkle Ford’s bandages were a little too tight and she would wince at the friction on her burn.
Still muttering through his teeth, his eye glued to the injury through his single-cracked glasses, he did it again, pulling on the bandage a little too hard, this time making Mabel accidentally let am “ouch!” slip past her lips. Ford looked up at her and his expression grew softer and more nurturing. “I’m sorry, my dear, but really, you shouldn’t have done that.”
“They were gonna shoot you…”
“I don’t care.” Ford said firmly. “If I tell you to run, you run. If I tell you to hide, you hide. If I tell you to save yourself and leave me behind, you do so.”
“No.”
The nomadic scientist blinked, slightly surprised by her stubbornness. Only slightly surprised, because she is a Pines, after all. But she is a good kid and in the month they had been traveling the Multiverse, she had never outright defied him like this. “Excuse me?” He wasn’t even stern or angry; he was too surprised (and maybe even a little proud) to properly scold her anymore.
“No. That’s stupid.” Mabel answered, her little cheeks puffed up in determination, her eyes sparkling with the reflection of the fire, a flame of her own in the windows to her soul. “I’ll never leave you behind. We’re a family, we gotta stick together if we’re gonna survive and get home. We need each other. Besides, if the tables were turned, would you leave me behind?”
“That’s an entirely different matter.” Ford said with a small smile on his ruffed-up face; he resumed his work on the burn more gently now and finished wrapping it up, securing the bandage. “I’m old, I’ve lived my life. You take priority.”
“I don’t care.” Mabel said, copying Ford’s exact tone and voice from earlier. The grown man snorted with amusement.
Ford decided to put this little argument on hold, seeing how there was no changing Mabel’s mind right now. And he didn’t want to spend the entire evening rebuking her. “You did do a very good job disarming those hunters. I’m very proud of you.”
Mabel sat up a little straighter and smiled up at Ford. “Thank you.”
Ford smiled at her and stood, moving to his large backpack to fish out the things for tea and dinner, though it would probably only be dried meat and oats. “I’m just glad you’re okay, pumpkin.”
Mabel’s eyes widened as her world was put on pause. She felt like she was being sucked into a time vortex, transported into a memory.
Grunkle Stan was dusting some zombie parts off of his armchair when Mabel was walking by, leaving the kitchen after giving Soos his cure for zombification. Stan noticed that Mabel looked very tired. He smiled at her from her seat, and Mabel ran up to him and climbed into his lap for a big hug.
“Hey, you alright?” Stan asked.
“Yeah, I’m okay. Are you?”
“Oh, I’m fine. I’m just glad you’re okay, pumpkin.” And he gave her a secure squeeze and Mabel happily hugged him back.
Mabel was shoved back into reality, accompanied by a sinking feeling of loss. She missed Grunkle Stan. She missed Dipper. She missed Waddles, and Soos, and Wendy, and the Shack, and Oregon, and California, and Mom and Dad…
Ford turned back to the fire with a kettle and wire-spider in hand, ready to ask Mabel to fetch some water (she always enjoyed being of assistance), but he stopped when he saw her crying with her eyes shut and wiping her cheeks dry with her wrists. Ford was immediately halted and his priorities shifted drastically. Nothing mattered at this moment but making her feel better.
He was swift. Ford scooped up some water from the clean stream into the kettle, then used the wire-spider to hold the kettle over the fire. Giving the water plenty of time to heat up and steam, Ford gently picked Mabel up from her seat on the log, only to hold her close and let her wrap her arms around his neck. He didn’t say a word, being a social-cripple and having no idea what he could say that would make her feel better, so he stayed silent and was simply there for her.
And really, that was all Mabel needed.
~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning the two humans were lucky to come across a small rustic town in the woods, reminding Ford of the small Tennessee-town Fiddleford grew up in. Except of course there were no humans, but blue-skinned elves with pointy years and the occasional centaur.
Ford had stolen a bit of money from a hunter yesterday, which meant they got to restock on supplies and even buy a cheap breakfast at an outside cafe. Sitting at a table under an umbrella, Ford was going over his plan with Mabel while she munched on her sweetly-cooked purple apples tossed in spices and sugar.
“... so once we reach this cavern here, we’ll reach a very interesting town called Flush Valley. I’ve heard it specializes in building mechanical limbs and prosthetics, but it’s surrounded by rich minerals perfect for building, so we can find what we need easily here. There may even be a day-by-day job I can get to earn a bit of money for food and shelter.”
“I can work, too! Daddy always said I was like a French horse!” Mabel added in excitedly.
Ford chuckled. “We’ll see. I would feel more comfortable if you were working so I could keep an eye on you. Moving on,” The old scientist sipped his strange alien coffee, but it contained caffeine and somewhat resembled his home dimension’s coffee taste, so he drank it. “The way there could be crawling with scavengers. A lot of people come to Flush Valley just barely hanging on by a thread, easy targets for hunting and stealing food and supplies. So we need to keep our guard up for the next two days.”
“Okay.” Mabel said, as nonchalantly as if Ford told her to remember to add milk to a grocery list.
Ford gave her a firmer look and added, “So, if we think we’re being followed, what do we do?”
“We pretend we don’t know and we keep walking calmly.” Mabel replied. “We keep our eyes open for a way to lose them, and where the sneaky-peaky spies are.”
“Very good.” Ford smiled at her. “If we decide to try to lose them, what do we do?”
“Run as fast as we can. If I can’t catch up I get on your shoulders and focus on making them go away, while you get us away.”
“Yes, excellent. What do we do if we decide to confront them?”
“I grab by sling-shot and exploding rocks and hit as many guys as I can. I aim for the knees or feet so they fall and can’t shoot us. Oh, and we stand with our backs to each other so we see everything, together.”
“Couldn’t have said it better myself. Now, if we are surrounded and I find a way to escape, what do you do?”
“Make sure you go in so you can lead the way!” Mabel answered with a grin.
“N-No, honey.” Ford said gently with a smile, as if informing a kindergartner that 1+1=2, not 11. “If I find a way to escape, you go first…”
“No,” Mabel said, still smiling as she shook her head. “You go first so I can make sure you’re coming.”
Ford sighed and took another sip of his drink. “Okay, if I tell you to run, you…”
“I grab your hand and run with you, making sure no one gets lost.”
“Mabel, no.”
“Mabel YES!” The girl grinned with determination. “You’re stuck with me, old man! You can’t get rid of me!”
Ford was getting annoyed at this point. He pinched the bridge of his nose, lifting his glasses up slightly, and growled, “I’m not trying to get rid of you, I’m trying to save you!”
Mabel gave him a very serious look and questioned, “By leaving me alone out here?”
“No! I-...” But Ford stopped and bit his lip. His niece did have an excellent point. As much as Ford was willing to do anything to keep her safe, as much as Ford was willing to sacrifice his own life for her’s, that really wasn’t a good idea.
There was a good chance Mabel could survive without him, at least until she found a nice family to take her in (or, somehow, miraculously, Stanley opened the portal and brought her home, but Ford didn’t dare to hope for that). But she was so young and inexperienced in the Multiverse. At least when Ford was first thrown into the chaos he was an adult and was accustomed to weirdness thanks to his six years of researching Gravity Falls. Mabel was extremely resourceful, imaginative, intelligent, and clever. She was also stronger and faster than many would assume. But she was too trusting. Too innocent. So, not to belittle Mabel or underestimate her, but she was right; she needed Ford, and as noble as it would be to exchange his life for her’s if it came down to it, that would also be incredibly stupid and only buy Mabel a little more time until she was captured or enslaved or killed or even worse.
And of course, only someone as people-smart and clever as Mabel could make Ford see that.
He sighed tiredly. “O-... Okay.” Mabel smiled proudly at him. “Okay, I’ll… I’ll try to be more careful.” Ford promised. “I… I just need you to be safe.”
“Don’t worry, I think we do a pretty good job of keeping each other safe.” Mabel complimented, holding out a bite of her fruit on a fork for Ford.
The old man held up a polite hand and declined, but his stomach turned against him and growled, and Mabel frowned at him, giving Ford a deja vu feeling of his mother forcing him and his brothers to eat their vegetables. So Ford smiled and accepted the sweetly cooked fruit. “Yes, I think so, too.”
Tumblr media
pairing: tom holland x lifeguard!reader
warnings: drowning, i guess, although it is definitely not mentioned or described but still. staying under water a lil bit longer than what’s normal?
summary: you’re a lifeguard and when tom is playing in the pool with harrison and stays under for too long, you come to his aid
a/n: soo... apparently this was supposed to be for a writing contest hosted by  @sunshinehollandd and @naturallytom that i never finished. oops 🤭
i found it among my 92 drafts and decided to finish it - sort of. It’s more a quick drabble than anything (that i am not proud of) but oh well. at least it’s something, right? so enjoy!
Tumblr media
With your brand new sunglasses resting on the bridge of your nose, you settle back into the chair towering above the pool guests. The sun beams down from above, toasting the back of your neck that the umbrella was unable to protect.
The endless laughter from children, the frustrated scolds from parents, and the splashing of the water beneath you blend together into mere background noise. You shift in your seat, fishing out your bottle from your backpack. To be fair, it’s more a block of ice than water, but your throat relishes the few drops that do fall out as you tip the bottle upwards.
While you knew your job needed the upmost level of detail, you no longer felt the constant need to pay attention to every single guest. You had been at this long enough to trust your body to react on its own accord and was nowhere near as uptight as you had been your first day.
Relaxing back into your chair, you let your hidden gaze glide across the people that had taken the trip to your turf today. One of your favorite parts of the job, contrary to what some people might think, was the people watching. There is just something about observing people as they unknowingly go about their day.
Your eyes fall on Mina first. The fourteen year old girl is always there so it comes as no surprise. You watch proudly as she practices her butterfly stroke. Her ceaseless training had done wonders for her technique and you make a mental note to compliment her when she eventually gives up for the day.
There are a few other regulars as well. Mr. and Mrs. Norris; the retired couple that would come every weekend to work on their tans. Sasha; the single mom that also comes every weekend with her twin boys, Adam and George. Mr. Thomas; an older gentleman who seemed to enjoy speaking with you more than the actual swimming part. And then there was Paddy, who had just recently started visiting.
The young freckled boy (teenager, Paddy would correct) seemed to also be practicing his techniques much like Mina. There had been a fair share of conversations between the two of you and you had to admit that you enjoyed his company.
Your eyes land on the two men next to him that he appears to be talking to. You refrain the urge to roll your eyes as you keep watching them, their water fight becoming more intense by the second. Paddy seems to be cheering them on, but you can’t make out his words. Boys.
While water fights are definitely not unusual for you to witness, this is different as the young men look to be about your own age. For some reason unbeknownst to you, you’re unable to tear your eyes away from the two of them. Or, more specifically, the tone back muscles of the brunette with his back to you.
They are both extremely attractive - that truth is undeniable. As their playful fighting becomes physical, you finally catch a glimpse of the brunette. The black sunglass that had been nestled in his wet curls were knocked off and long forgotten the second they came in contact with the chlorinated water.
Your brows perked with amusement as you kept your eyes on the two. A little entertainment in an otherwise mundane work day didn’t hurt, right? The brunette almost effortlessly hops onto the blond’s back, a non-threatening chokehold around his neck. The overpowering does not last for long and before either you or him, it seemed, could anticipate it, the blond had successfully knocked him off and into the water.
The blond surfaced rather quickly, a triumphant grin dancing on his lips. You chuckled to yourself quietly, anxiously waiting for the attractive brunette to resurface as well. You were rather curious about how he would handle his loss. However, as a few more seconds pass and still no brown locks to be seen, you’re in full lifeguard mode.
You’re on autopilot. You had trained for years and while you rarely had to actually utilize your skills, it did happen occasionally. Your body doesn’t even react to the temperature difference as your toasted skin comes in contact with the chilled water. You make your way over to the small group in record time, grabbing ahold of the brunette’s arm just as he seems to make his way back up.
His coughs enter your ears as soon as you pull him to the surface and toward the edge of the pool. You’re well-aware of the small audience you have, feeling the burns of their curious stares, but ignore them dutifully and get back to the situation at hand.
He seems to be conscious enough and helps you out by hoisting himself up on the ledge. You pretend not to notice the way his toned biceps tense as he does so. You quickly hoist yourself up as well, the sun immediately resuming its toasting the minute your body is out of the water.
You offer a rather pathetic pat on the back as his ceaseless coughs continue. Eventually, he’s able to halt his coughing, his chest heaving as he tries to get enough air into his lungs without irritating his throat again.
“Are you okay?” you question, hiding your worry behind the professionalism you had adopted summers ago. “See, this is why lifeguards typically frown upon fighting in the water. Playfully or not.”
He nods, finally turning to meet your eyes. You choke down the gasp that involuntarily made its way up your throat. His brown orbs sparkle in the sun and you are immediately mesmerized by their beauty. Still, the way the embarrassment that had been swimming within them was replaced by shock and curiosity the moment they met your gaze didn’t go unnoticed by you.
“I-I’m good,” he brown-eyed man responds, swallowing thickly. The corner of his mouth turns upward as he runs a slightly unsteady hand through his wet curls. “Thanks for coming to my rescue.”
“Well, it is my job,” you retort, a playful smile settling on your lips. “Your poor fighting technique was amusing, so I was already watching.”
“You sure that’s the only thing you were watching, darling?” He’s full-on smirking now and you, once again, refrain from rolling your eyes at his childish antics.
“Y/N!”
You turn toward the familiar voice, watching with curious eyes as Paddy swims toward the two of you, the older blond hot on his heel. The freckled teen looks between you and the brunette, not even bothering to hide his amusement. His gaze lands on the brunette who looks at him expectantly.
“This is why I’m the swimmer and you’re the actor, Tom,” Paddy snorts.
Tom. So that was his name.
“Well, Pads, if I had known you were here hanging out with - Y/N, was it? - almost everyday then maybe I’d be here more often and would be a better swimmer.”
When you step out into the rain, you feel a bit sad, shutting the door behind you. Smiling to yourself, you sigh, trying to find Taehyung through the tinted windows, your hand lingering on the door.
You don’t want to leave, you want to hold onto him for a bit longer. Somehow, you know that if you say goodbye now, things will stay the same, you will stay the same.
Broken as you've always been.
He’s lost behind the dark, and you have to let go, turning away.
You can’t rely on him. You can’t let your burdens rest on his shoulders, you have to figure out how to solve them on your own. Nevertheless, the temptation is there. To lose yourself in the fantasy of bliss and happiness dancing in the rain.
What happens when you finally let go?
You don’t want to find out.
Inwardly, you try to swallow the lump in your throat as you leave him behind, holding tightly to the bittersweet memories he has given you.
Smiling softly to yourself, you lift your satchel to cover your head, shielding you from the rain like a little umbrella, only a few feet away from the apartment complex door. Glancing to your left, you receive a pang of nostalgia as you recognize the small bench where you waited for Jaejin before.
Was it only yesterday that you came to Korea?
You find it so hard to believe that in a mere span of 24 or so hours, so much has already happened and yet you're here.
The same as before.
You scoff a bit to yourself, finding how pathetic that is. You know you have to change, that you have to fix yourself, and find it sad that you can't seem to do it alone. The only moments where you start to feel okay are moments like today, where others can distract you and give you their strength.
Is that all you're capable of being?
A parasite that leeches off of other's happiness?
You are weak, aren’t you?
Turning away, you start to resume your trek to the safety of your apartment, your new home but pause at the sound of someone shouting behind you.
"Wait!"
It's a familiar voice, and frantic. Curious, and a bit worried, you turn around, trying to find the source of the sound. It takes you a moment to peer through the rain, but soon you can see a figure stepping out of a sleek black car that is parked on the curb.
The same car that dropped you off just moments ago.
Why hasn't he left yet?
Furrowing your brow with confusion, you step forward, but then you see him.
As the figure turns towards you, even from this distance, you’re still able to recognize his face. Why wouldn’t you, when you have been looking at it, memorizing it, adoring it throughout the 5 years you have known him? His eyes glint as they meet yours across the way and he calls out your name once more, leaving you frozen, speechless.
“Wait for me!”
Kim Taehyung, little do you know, I have been waiting for you all my life.
He starts running towards you. Through the rain, splashing through puddles, getting drenched all over again. Not even bothering to pull up his hood as he runs to reach you, his eyes never leave your gaze, braving the monster that is the storm.
You shake your head almost in disbelief as he comes to a stop before you, drenched from head to toe. He’s dripping almost as much as the clouds around you, his hair now plastered to his face. The rain has turned it from its normal dark brown shade to a deep pitch black. His clothes stick tightly to his body from the rain, all efforts to dry off in the car now futile. He shivers a bit from the cold, his teeth slightly chattering as he stands before you, those eyes boring into yours.
He must be so uncomfortable, so cold, and yet…
His eyes can’t stop shining.
You look up at him, half stunned.
“Thank goodness you heard me. I thought I would have to chase you inside.” He says, chuckling to himself. Stunned, you are frozen, your eyes wide and searching his. He notices the strange expression and tilts his head, confused.
“What is it?” he asks, but you don’t answer. He looks left and right as though he weren't the cause of your stare before bending forward and whispering…
“Do I have something on my face?”
At his question, you can’t help but chuckle.
“Yes.” You nod, lowering your satchel to rest by your hip once more and reaching around his neck, pulling the now soaked and heavy fabric of hood up to cover his head. “You have quite a few things on your face.”
Before pulling away, you can't help but absentmindedly brush a bit of his hair out of his face, your hand resting on his cold but soft cheek. He doesn’t complain, just stares at you with wide expectant eyes. His hands itch to raise and keep your comforting hand there on his cheek, but he’s too late as you slowly pull away, meeting those dark mysterious eyes.
“What were you doing?” You ask, raising a hand to shield your eyes to see him better and he stands straight, clearing his throat.
“I never got your name.” He says quite plainly, shocking you a bit.
“You came out here...for my name?” you ask, quite incredulously. “I’m sorry I--”
You’re cut off, by the hand that he holds out to you, a smirk playing on his lips.
“I’m Kim Taehyung, what’s your name?” Taking his hand after a moment, you shake it.
“My name is Lin Yen, it’s nice to meet you.” You reply and he smiles broadly, his eyes seeming to shine with a million stars.
"Was that all?” You ask him, having to raise your voice over the growing torrent of rain.
“Hardly.” He murmurs under his breath, so soft that you can't hear him. Squinting your eyes at him, you push your hair away from your face, the wind playing with it violently.
“What did you say?” You call out to him, wincing as another howl of wind shrieks in your ear. He doesn’t respond, just turns to you and holds out his hand. You give him an incredulous look, thinking he wants another handshake, but he smiles, shaking his head slightly.
“Give me your phone.” he requests, and you sigh in exasperation.
“Tae, we're in the middle of a storm, I don't--”
“I don’t care.” He says, cutting you off and you regard him in silence. “Besides, you're short enough that I could be your umbrella. So you don’t have to be so worried about the rain.” You raise your eyebrow at his statement, a bit offended. He notices your expression, but at the sight of it, his smile only grows wider, mischief playing in his eyes.
“You did not just call me short.” You warn him, crossing your arms across your chest as you wait for his response. He rolls his eyes, shrugging a bit before stepping forward, so close that he’s hovering over you.
“Just stating the facts, sweetheart,” Taehyung replies, raising his brow as though asking for a challenge. You narrow your eyes at him, pursing your lips a bit before he smirks and speaks once more. “You’re like a little fairy, and I’m your protective tree.”
He chuckles, sliding his forefinger under your chin before you pull away with a scoff. Just because some people have the biological genes that make them as tall as the freaking sky…
Tired of his incessant teasing, you raise your hand, take his nose within your fingers, and twist it lightly in retaliation, as though you were stealing it from him. He blinks, a bit surprised as you pull away smirking. Holding your thumb between your fore and middle finger, you wave your hand in front of his face, brandishing it as though it were your prize before turning on your heel and walking away.
“Come on, Mr. Tree.” You call over your shoulder and after a moment, he follows you. When you reach the small overhang above the entrance to your apartment complex, you stop and turn around to him, no longer bare to the storm. Giving him a triumphant smile, you turn to your satchel, slightly humming to yourself. “Looks like you don’t have to be an umbrella anymore.”
“Your loss, for your information I am an excellent tree.” He scoffs, rolling his eyes before resting his hands behind his neck and peeking into your apartment complex. The doors are glass, so it's not hard to see through and as you glance up from your tiny task, you smile at how cute and innocent his expression seems. When your hands finally close around your phone, you let out a small gasp of excitement, startling him. He jumps, his hands falling and resting on his chest as though to try and calm his pounding heart. Pulling it out of your satchel, you try your hardest not to burst out into laughter at the sight of his surprised expression.
“You okay there, Mr. Leafalot?” You ask and he scoffs, a bit annoyed, his soft lips pursing into a small pout.
“For one thing, I have no idea what that means.” You bite back on your laugh, snorting a bit as you raise your hand to hide your ever-growing smile.
“For another, I am perfectly fine, thank you.” Scoffing, he rubs the back of his neck glancing away from you for a moment.
“Honestly, I don't need a clumsy Tinker Bell telling me to be careful.” You roll your eyes, deciding to ignore the slight taunt he just directed your way.
“Whatever, Peter Pan.” You shoot back, earning a slightly surprised look from him. He opens his mouth to reply but you cut him off, holding your phone out to him. He looks at it, then back at you, a question waiting in his eyes. After a moment, you grow tired of waiting and sigh, lagging your arm a bit. “Didn’t you ask to see my phone?”
His eyes light with realization and he nods as though he has forgotten why he was there. He takes the phone from you, your fingers brushing against his before you draw away. As he glances at your home screen, he smirks.
“So...am I your bias?”
You glance up at him, a bit confused by his question, but then you realize.
He has your phone.
The same phone that has him...
On your home screen.
As your wallpaper.
Inwardly, you curse, trying to ignore the blush rising in your cheeks, and lunge forward, trying to take it back. He laughs, dodging and holding your phone out of your reach.
“What's wrong, Tinker?” he antagonizes, grinning like an idiot as he blocks you with his arm.
Curse your tiny arms.
“Taehyung!” you whine, the embarrassment clean on your face. He just laughs, his fingers playing on your screen doing God knows what as he holds you back. You droop on his arm, pouting as he shows no signs of pulling away, nor giving the phone back.
“What did you even need it for?” you complain, slipping off of his arms and crossing your arms once more. Having finished, he turns back to you, smirking. You tilt your head a bit confused as he hands you your phone. Cautiously, you take it, wondering what he’s done.
“See for yourself.” He instructs.
As soon as you see it, your eyes widen.
He opened your contacts and entered one, the new contact set up and filling your screen. On it, he entered a phone number and titled the contact as Your TaeTae with a purple heart next to it. You breathe out a stunned scoff, before looking up to see him smiling at you. A soft, but innocent smile, which shows his hope and unanswered questions. You smile back, touched at his gesture, and still caught in slight disbelief.
“Is this real?” you ask and he nods. Still unsure, you chuckle a bit shakily turning back to the phone. “I mean, this isn’t your manager's phone number or something…?”
He rolls his eyes before stepping forward and taking your hand into his own, gently cutting you off. You meet his gaze with wide eyes and he holds it with his deep ones before turning back to your phone. You still have your hand around it, the same hand which he holds in his own, a gentle touch that never ceases to fill you with warmth.
You watch as he saves the contact to your phone. Held in beautiful silence, the two of you watch as it registers. Once it's saved, he presses the call button and puts it on speaker just as it starts dialing. It holds out three long beeps before a muffled sound can be heard.
A ringtone echoing from Taehyung's back pocket.
You watch in silence as he pulls it out, holding it next to your phone, an unknown caller ID flashing on his screen. The two of you watch as your soft beeping and his ringtone mix together in a strange symphony. That is, until Tae pulls away, answering the call and holding his phone to his ear. It takes you a moment, but as he softly nudges you, you raise yours to your ear, murmuring a soft response.
“Hello?” He smirks at your faint whisper before replying.
“Hello, is this Tinker Bell?” He asks in the same soft, quiet voice, subtly mocking you. But you catch it, and narrow your eyes at him, playfully smacking him in the arm. He winces, pouting, but you don’t buy it and ignore him.
“It is she, is this Peter Pan?” He wrinkles his nose at the nickname, and you scoff, looking away.
Like Tinker Bell is any better?
“No.” He answers, dropping the mocking voice, his deep silky one returning. At the sound of it, you look up, wondering why he turned so serious all of a sudden. He meets you with those large dark hooded eyes, looking at you with an unreadable expression.
“This is Kim Taehyung.” He takes a step forward, so close you can feel the heat radiating off of him, his smell wafting over you once more.
“This is real.”
You look into his eyes, take in his face, the serene look he holds and everything seems to fade away. There’s only you and him, the rain far away, your troubles falling behind you. There’s only one thing that matters.
After a moment, he slowly smiles, ruffling your hair softly. You flinch, raising your hands to protect your head just as he pulls away.
“I’ll see you later, Tinker Bell.” Stepping back, he raises his hand, waving goodbye before turning on his heel and running off into the rain.
You smile, a bit stunned as you watch him until he rounds the corner around the car and opens the door, looking up at you one last time. You smile, and dramatically wave goodbye to him. He laughs, you can hear it, though it may be faint, as he waves back.
Then he’s gone.
The door closes and you watch the car as it drives away. You stare after it long after it's gone and though you're still smiling, it's almost as though you're returned to your dark and empty self.
As though when he left, he took all the light with him.
Sighing, you shake yourself off.
Now is not the time to lose yourself.
So what if the dream has gone?
You promised yourself you would be strong. You promised yourself not to fall.
So you won’t.
Before you turn away, you look down at your phone, which is still open to Taehyung's contact. You smile at the sight of it, a small sign that what just happened was real, and not a dream. Smiling to yourself, you tap on the empty profile and replace it with the same picture you have on your home screen. Smiling like an idiot, you save the contact changes and are about to turn to the door before you see it.
The option to send him a message.
Licking your lips, you raise your hand to your bottom lip, absentmindedly playing with it as you contemplate whether or not you should do it. After a moment, you press the option and watch in anticipation as it brings you to the empty chat page, waiting for you to type. Biting your bottom lip, your fingers fly across the screen. Sweet and simple, you smile once it's finished, adding a purple heart at the end before pressing SEND. The transaction done, you press your home screen button before turning it to sleep, pocketing the phone safely in your satchel once more.
Taking one last look at the rain, where your dream faded away not a moment ago, you sigh with content before turning on your heel and pushing open the door to enter the apartment complex.
And somewhere amongst that onslaught of endless rain, Taehyung, driving down the slick streets of Seoul, receives your message. He opens it, finding it to belong to an unknown number. But when he reads it, he knows it's you.
Goodbye, Peter Pan
After all, who else would call him that?
Smiling, he sends back a purple heart before pocketing his phone and driving farther and farther away.
And yet…
It’s almost as though he never left.
