Which are the biggest examples of cowardice from the writers of VW and GW, never meaningfully adressing House Goneril's usage of child slaves or never having Claude point out in any of his “Fódlan and Almyra have bad relations because the two of them don't want to understand each other” speeches that Almyra invading Fódlan for fun once a week is a much more likely reason for the two countries not getting along than simple ignorance and close-mindedness?

Meaningfully adressing the Goneril Slavery issue means, to make it meaningful, that Claude shoud react to it.

Also, because adressing the Goneril issues means, obviously, adressing the "whys" they think or have their biased POV against Almyrans, which brings us to the weekly raids.

If the Goneril issue was adressed, we could have Hilda/Holst/their mom/their second degree cousin say that they are at least treating the Almyran children as human beings (lel) which is already giving them more care than what Almyrans do when they raid and pillage and "rampage" in Fodlan cities - maybe with some sort of Matthias-like example, Almyrans killing a pregnant woman, or, idk to keep in the "grandma from the 1800s tells me what the Orient is like" bias, captured women or what not.

Which, could, in turn, lead Claude to acknowledge that both parties treated each other like shit, but to stop the cycle, one has to stop, and, idk, House Goneril accepting to make the first step at Hilda's behest because even if Claude is half-Almyran, he wants to help and save everyone, even Fodlan people.

Tl;Dr : not adressing the child slavery issue means you cannot adress the weekly raids - but the biggest argument against VW and GW is how the cast never reacts - especialy not the Gonerils - to Claude's speeches and/or ideas

It's almost as if only Dimitri and Rhea can receive backlash (earned or not!) for their words and actions but the other two can tell their followers the sky is green, and they will never give them any flak.

Caelen paused again, and though his expression didn't change much, his eyes welled up with tears. When he spoke again, his voice quivered. "I told him I was scared... that I couldn't stomach killing, even in furtherance of that eventual peace. That it evoked in me such a twisting feeling as to feel as though my very soul was attempting to flee the horror my body had wrought on others. And..." Another pause, his eyes unfocused, remembering the conversation. "...I did not understand at the time what he meant when he said what he did, not fully, or why he looked so sad when he said it, but his response to me was, 'Then you are someone I ought to be fighting for, and not beside.'" Finally, a smile. He paused to wipe his tears that were beginning to trickle down his cheeks. "He knew me better than I knew myself, even then," he said, chuckling.

My point in telling that story is that I can look past what one does as a soldier if I believe that they do it for the right reasons. I can separate the soldier from the friend in Ynarra. And if she ever decided to turn me in, I know it would be the soldier doing so, not my friend. I know it would be in fulfillment of orders, or because she was following her heart with regard to protecting her sovereign nation. I know her heart is in the right place, and I would bear her no ill will if she thought my apprehension would help, protect, shield... anything my mentor mentioned to me that day we spoke. When we are soldiers, there are different rules, and I respect that. I know my friend would never expose me, and I forgive the soldier if she someday must."

It's really embarrassing that I made a tiny booklet for a guy I have a crush on. I made a booklet for a guy I have a crush on, A BOOKLET. I wrote it, I printed it (I wasted my ink, my precious, precious ink), and I sewed it. I don't even have the courage to give it to him because it's so embarrassing, it's shameful, the things I wrote, what I felt, what I feel. And truthfully I am ashamed, how can I like so much of him and still have the courage to talk to him. He smiles at me, he smiles and I feel so loved even when he smiles for everyone, I am no one special to him, but he laughs, oh how I love how he laughs, he laughs at my antics and even when I look so hideous he touches my hands, gently, softly. He looks at me like he likes me, but he doesn't and that hurts. I hope for something yet I don't let myself be close.
