getting up on my soapbox for a moment. i find it laughable that nearly every time someone says they don’t like rap they cite hamilton and k-pop as the only rap they can tolerate. because everything else is just so violent and full of blatant consumerism. first off. so is k-pop. secondly. idk how to tell you the founding fathers were some of the most violent people around (coming from a black american descentant of slaves who is most likely related to thomas jefferson. shouldn’t have to explain the relevance here). thirdly. hamilton and k-pop both reference and interpolate rap. so idk what to tell you babes. you do like rap. you just don’t like black people. say it with your full chest next time.

#to remind u guys if u're thinking about something naughty stop right there; the different size of the food served is also surprising#twisted wonderland#twst#sebek zigvolt#ace trappola#deuce spade#twst yuu#twst mc#fanart#do westerners go to asian country feels like they are served dwarf's portion#because as an asian; it always feel like we are served giant's portion; not exaggerating bcs we can never finish it#understandable because westerners can grow so tall so they must need more energy to burn#it's like if we order food; we asians always have to have a tupperware to take leftover home#but the price of the food in all the food places is so expensive it's reasonable the portion is big#i might ignite if paying so much we only get rabbit portion#anyhow i am just thinking of this because of the briar valley's big horse post#i do love to think everything is bigger in briar valley#the trees are all so lushfull and majestic like they all have lived a thousand years already#and the vegetables all just grow happily and absorb so much nutrient from the soil they are so big also#i was thinking of drawing e pel too but the space#while to people who born in this country feels things like these are normal#the thought of being able to be born in such a country where the produce all looking so big and healthy is such a blessing to me#it almost feels like they take it for granted; but it's just what they are born to#i have a nephew who is SUPER picky & waste food so much#i am crying everytime#yes y'all have a lot of food and good life here but h e l p#i'm sure the climate also makes vegetables bigger#i think i heard in winter plants stock more nutrients in their produce as stock for spring & summer#that's why winter veggies are better & sweeter and all#my country's vegetables are scrawny because the heat evaporates everything

And can I say that another thing that resonates with me about ambrosius being a queer asian man is the focus on his bloodline and his heritage.
As a trans + queer asian guy I'm probably never gonna have genetic kids and as an only child that's something I've had to come to terms with. Queerphobia in Chinese culture (in my experience) in very different than in the US because instead of stemming from evangelicalism, a lot of it comes from the stigma of not being able to have kids and have a "normal" family and continue the bloodline. And the guilt of the bloodline ending with me is constantly something at the back of my mind.
Even though it's not really touched on in the film explicitly, a big part of Ambrosius' arc is saying "fuck you" to his responibility to his bloodline and choosing to be happy with his bf instead. And there's an interpretation of that which is arguing for queer asians to say a "fuck you" and choose their own happiness. We're allowed to be selfish, and choose ourselves

I love this show. I love them so much. I love that they just went ahead and said 'yep, Pit Babe thinks he's running from auction but is actually running from a breeding program he doesn't even know about'.
Tumblr media
I love this.
Who knew we'd get a breeding program in a BL in the year 2023? That the entire show would actually talk about the idea that boys can get pregnant and that everyone wants Pavel's Babe's babies?
No, seriously, this is the best.
Tumblr media
Charlie trying to protect Babe from thing she didn't know about and how love started from something else entirely and how much Babe loves Charlie despite himself and despite his own logic because Charlie showed him how to love.
Tumblr media
Charlie finally telling the whole truth to Babe and to the audience so we have at least an idea of what's going on but also the heartbreak of knowing that being close to and being loved by the person you love was stealing a part of yourself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Question: how does he know this?
But also Babe denying Charlie that, making very sure that he knows he has to live and that even without his senses he won't give up. Babe telling Charlie to keep living without having to say the words, denying the return of his powers because he wants this love and softness he's discovered.
Tumblr media
Babe is so desperate for love and to be loved and Charlie gives him that love and that softness and they reconcile so quickly because Babe needs to be loved, to be soft, to be cared for and held and pampered.

Tired: Rise!Splinter is a neglectful and awful father who doesn’t care about his kids >:(
Wired: Rise!Splinter’s negligence comes from a place of deep trauma that he’s carried with him his whole life – losing his mother, having been betrayed by the love of is life, being imprisoned and forced to fight for his life, used as an experiment and subsequently being mutated and losing his whole identity as a person – and while it certainly doesn’t excuse his behavior, there is no doubt that this man loves his sons fiercely despite his own shortcomings and perhaps it is exactly that love and care that causes him to keep his children at arms length in hopes to spare them his family’s cursed legacy that grooms them into martyrs and are thus destined to die young, a sacrifice for the greater good that Splinter is never willing to make even if it means forfeiting the world to the Shredder. Splinter’s journey of fatherhood began by being completely unprepared as a fresh young single father of four young children that depend on him to survive and there is no surprise he’s hit almost every bump there possibly is when raising a child but never in his life has Splinter ever blamed or resented his children in any way – he is not perfect and he’s aware and he tries to do better all because he loves his kids this fucking much bc despite all the shit he’s been through, those kids made him realize that he can try again. to dismiss him as an awful father is a gross mischaracterization of a deeply traumatized man of color who evidently tried his fucking hardest not to pass on the hurt onto his own children while grappling with his own demons and the crushing destiny of his family’s blood line that took away his mother.
