I broke my phone once and lost my debit card at the same time.I had to go to my bank to get a new debit card, then back several times to change my pin because my ADHD brain forgot the damn pin ONCE and they needed my phone.

Y? Because even if I brought my drivers liscense, ssd card, or fucking passport, 3 government approved forms of identification, I think even my birth certificate once, so 4 forms. They. Just. Wouldn't. Help. Me. Without. A. Working. Phone. How fucked up is that.

I had to spend $100 I had at home for emergency funds to fix my phone to change my debot card password. Anyway it turn out they wanted my phone number and drivers liscense only, and none of the other shit matters.

But the thing is, they never asked for the phone number, they asked for my phone, my brain thought it was for text verification or app stuff. But I didn't sign up gor the app. And my phone was broken.

Why were official government papers less viable to prove I am me than my phone number? They should not be rendered pointless to a chunk of metal, glass, and plastic.
