Rare Pair Bingo

This month’s event we are doing Thankful for Rare Pairs! This is a bingo style event. In total there will be three cards: one with the rare pairs, one with smut prompts, and one with non-smut prompts. We included a bingo card with non-smut prompts because sometimes you just want your blorbos to hold hands. We will be reblogging and sharing content from this event for all of March and April (this event runs from March 1st 2024 to April 30th 2024). Do not feel any pressure to complete all the prompts within one month (and don’t feel any pressure to finish all the prompts!).

How to play:

Option 1: If you have one rare pair you really like or one rare pair that really speaks to you, take that pair and use the prompts to create something for them.

Option 2: You can use all the bingo cards with different pairings and different prompts for your creations!

Any fic, art, moodboard, playlist etc. will be included and we are happy to reblog!

Additional rules:

You can use multiple prompts for one creation.  These can come from different cards (pairing + smut prompt + non-smut prompt) or come from the same card (pairing + smut prompt 1 + smut prompt 2, etc.). How you use the prompt cards is up to you!

If you want to play option 1 (only one pairing but using the prompt cards) but your pairing is not on the list: No problem! Just use the free space. If your pairing is a rare pair but not included, we would love to hear about it!  

How do I know if my pairing is a rare pair?  If you feel it is a rare pair it’s a rare pair. Our bingo list came from a poll that one of the mods (@the-girl-with-the-algebra-book) created. Some of them have 300 fics on AO3 and some have less than 25 (Borry. The answer is Borry, Boromir/Merry and I need more signed @frosticenow). We did not want to have any strict definitions for rare pairs to keep it open. 

To get a bingo you need to have a line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) filled and this can include the free space. To get a super bingo (we did not know what else to call it) you need to fill up a card, only one card. If you fill up more than one you get more than one super bingo!

notes - i kid yall not, i literally have a 200 pg document full of old fanfic from like 2 years ago, and this piece was in there! well, not this piece, but something like this. I wanted to get inspo and loved this too much not to share!!! I did a lot of edits and fixed it to make it more my style and I really love it. this writing was for a recent poll i did!! i love bruno so much and was really happy to write this!!! requests open april 1 btw and i am so excited to see all of your ideas <3333

Bruno laid his hands out in front of you on the table face down. He finally let you convince him to let you paint his nails and you were smiling like an idiot picking some of your favorite colors that would suit Bruno really well.

"How long is this going to take?" He asked, trying to act annoyed, but failing as he was smiling just as much as you.

"Not long, Bruno. Not like you have anywhere to be."

"I am a capo." He said, trying to sound all big and tough.

"Nice try, Bucciarati, but isn't your so called, 'gang' out shopping for clothes right now and getting froyo?"

"Shut up," he giggled, watching you paint his nails delicately. You were always so gentle with him and that somehow made him love you so much more than he already did.

"Cara?"

"Hm?" You didn't look up and just kept painting his nails, your full focus on him at the moment.

"I promise to love you until the day I die. Even after that, I will never stop loving you." He whispered in your ear in Italian, sending a shiver down your spine.

You blushed and messed up on his pinky finger a bit, immediately going back to fix it and muttering an apology.

"It's alright, love." He told you, watching you fumble around for a moment. He grabbed your wrist gently and softly chuckled.

"Are you alright, cara?"

"I'm fine." You paused and looked into Bruno's dark blue eyes. "You just... don't know that, that's all."

"Oh, see, but I do." He told you with full confidence.

You pulled your eyes away from his and focused on his bangs instead, pushing them out of his eyes. "You need to get a haircut." You told him.

"You're changing the subject, love."

"Well," you twiddled your thumbs and looked down at your hands. "You might change your mind one day."

"What makes you say that?"

"You just don't want to make a stupid promise only for it to-"

"I don't think it's a stupid promise."

You looked up at him and his eyes were a bit confused, but still full of so much love.

"I'm just saying," you finished painting his nails and blew on them before checking if they were fully dry. "It might be a bad idea."

"Why would it be a bad idea?"

"Bruno, what if you don't love me forever?! What if you fall out of love with me... What if... I'm not enough for you?"

"Love that will never happen." He grabbed both of your hands and kissed your knuckles. "I love you with my entire being, I don't even think you understand. When I made that promise to you, I wasn't kidding,” he cupped your face, the golden sun pouring onto your bright eyes. “Do I make that clear?”

You nodded with a bright smile, tears forming in your eyes, but not from being upset. "Bruno, I love you more than the moon needs the sun, and I will forever love you, even after death."

Bruno smiled at you and brought his lips to yours, no one but the sheer white curtains and the sun there to watch.

April 8th The second day of the Madrid pre-party

Here is Käärijä’s Instagram stories from the morning after, he is very happy and lively (until someone spat on him, don’t do that). I think yesterday went well?

july - OLD MAN ASH WILLIAMS ?!?!?!?!?!? i remember i was watching ash vs evil dead and felt a little bit too homosexual and needed to get it out of my system. keep in mind this was still before i was insane about evil dead. i frankly think the body and the background suck ass and this drawing is BAD👎

august - laura palmer painting number 1. really quite happy with this. i like her a lot. just not so happy with the background, i think i couldve done it better. (i was trying to make it so that you could see the waiting room peeking out from cracks in the wall but that wasnt obvious and was just kind of stupid so like whateverrrr).

september - laura palmer painting number 2. i actually prefer this one, i put more work into it than the first one? it might not look as good but i was more independent with the colour picking and was doing a lot more of the reference from eye. i also think it looks prettier and i like how the hair turned out :))

october - this was a busy month for me so this is just a cringetober piece. self insert. me as an s-mart employee. UM.anyway.s. i think its cute but definitely my weakest piece on here apart from maybe the bluey art. woah wait i just realised i appear twice on this thing

november - dale cooper painting!!! im really happy with this i think it turned out really nice and pretty and that i captured how angelic he looks in that scene :)) im especially proud of the eyes.

TON takes place in early summer ~May/June (explicitly stated and most logical, + very symbolic because early summer = new camp sessions, book has so much about new beginnings considering its the final book of the final series) so TOA does take place around the same time as MCGA.

TOA should, based on provided time durations and with loose regards towards the stated months, be THO late Jan-early Feb, 1 1/2 months of traveling (no idea why, assuming they just kept getting constantly attacked and didn’t really know where to look), TDP mid-late March, TBM late March, TTT early April (happy april 8 btw), month of traveling in between (again, constant attacks would slow them down + maybe they were also Having Fun and bonding too because I think they deserve that), and finally TON presumably mid May around the end of the school year.

Why does Will say Apollo arrives back at the end of summer in TSATS? Easy answer is that it’s just one of the many (like, more than usual) continuity errors in the book because TSATS is not real it is a bogeyman in the closet. But also what does Will in TSATS know about Apollo coming back, he completely ignored the fact Apollo was with them when they got the prophecy (“I never saw my dad again after he became a god” boy if you don’t stop lying).

Will fr just keeps lying in TSATS, and yeah, that’s pretty accurate for the timeline. I was sorta guessing the months but I guess it makes sense they’d just be messing around on their way back to NYC. Wish we got a clearer explanation.

Also just love that fact that Will has no sense of time post-TOA, it just makes it funnier. Thx for answering!

What are Casey, April, Irma, and Sunita's fashion sense like? Music taste? Favorite food? Favorite type of books/shows/movies? Least favorite food texture? Any specific neirodivergency or mental illnesses? What are they most insecure about? Do they all fight along side the turtles or aid them with their adventures?

Please tell me everything you can about Keno!!!

Do any of the humans get mutated at any point? Why does Donnie create retro mutagen?

Is spike mutant or yokai? Will he eventually be an ally to the turtles? Do have a design for him? Do they acquire other allies? Do you have any character designs we can have a sneak peek too?

Is Bishop and his hole thing in this au? Are the triceraton? Will there be professor Honeycutt/Fugitoid?

Do the O'Neil's have any other foster kids? Do they have an apartment or a house? What the layout of their place like? Which half of them makes April 1/4 Kraang?

In the new lair layout there isn't Splinters room, does he not live with them anymore? Or is it a more separate room?

1. what are their markings?? are they natural or like tattoos of sorts (thinking the latter bc the hamato symbol on leo’s shell would be pretty weird other wise)

2. who’s is leo’s rival?? i cannot tell! are they an original character or an old tmnt character?

3. WHO IS DONNIE’S ALIEN FRIEND??? she looks super interesting and pretty. like how did they meet in the first place? does april know? (this is most definitely spoilers but she was the most intriguing)

4. their ages are super interesting!! so does donnie have that oldest child syndrome? and how old were they when they were abandoned?

5. the obviously most totally important question of them all /s: DOES IRMA KNOW ABOUT THE TURTLES (i love irma and i’m so glad she’s in ur iteration btw)

ACTUALLY CONSUMING ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS AGHHS TY SOSO MUCH IM SO HAPPY UR ENJOYING THE AU?!

1. They’re tattoos! More specifically a form of paint— its why it sort of has that smudged look on their faces :)!! I wanted to represent the bandanas more differently in the AU but still wanted to give them their own color scheme, so that’s where I came up with them just having their designated colors painted onto them (that have lore reasons ofc..)! They all have symbols that represents them!

2. LEO’S RIVAL ISS!! A mystery… dun dun dun… but all will be revealed soon! Hint… they aren’t an oc

3. I can actually reveal who Donnie’s alien friend is! It’s Jhanna!! If you’ve read the mirage comics or have watched the 2003 show, you know who she is… I absolutely loved her character and wish she appeared more, so I had to add her to this AU. As for how Donnie and her met (and if April knows about her), that’s a story for a different time >:3

4. This AU actually takes place pretty recently! So they were abandoned at their current ages; 9-13 years old. I wanted to keep them young because it showed how inadequate they were in being able to protect themselves and how it left Splinter no other choice than to stow his sons away somewhere else because there was no realistic chance of him being able to protect them all by the amount of ninjas after them. Donnie definitely has oldest child syndrome HHEHA he feels like he has to find the solutions for everything. In the turtles eyes, they weren’t abandoned, and whether or not Splinter is alive or not remains a mystery.

5. HAHA OMG IM SO GLAD U NOTICED IT WAS HER!! As of right now— she doesn’t know about the turtles! April has a hard time even convincing herself that the mutant turtles are real… she doesn’t wanna chase away her bestie because of it HEHAHA. But Irma’s helping April not burst into flames of absolute burn-out, we love her.
