Now that I have an informal coven, I'm hosting the equinoxes & solstices at my house. Upcoming, being Mabon.
And where one of my coveners is By-The-Book-Wiccan, the rest of us are kinda feral little weirdos. Particularly my buddy Sunny & I, because we've practiced together since we were 15.
So I'm learning to write non-denominational Ritual. Which has been an adventure. Formalizing my Craft more to fit better in a group setting. Standardizing a little, to make it easier for people who are new to the practice. Removing Deity & focusing more on natural cycles and shared values of generosity, gratitude, honesty, and kindness.
If you guys have some witchy friends & happen to be in need of non-denominational coven ritual, feel free to interact!

Equinoctial Madness
In which I take on a project that is perhaps overly ambitious
I’ve finished knitting the green doily, and I’m working on writing up my thoughts about it, but in the meantime Daughter has become interested in doilies.
“Could you knit me a doily to line my Easter basket with?”
“Yeah, probably. It would have to be rectangular, or maybe oval. What do you think of this one? I have the pattern for it.”
“No, it should have flowers. Look, here is a picture of one with flowers!”
“Hmmmm. Well, this website has some charts. Interesting, it’s knit in multiple units, which are sewn together, and then a border goes around the whole thing. I’ve never made one like that before.”
“Does that mean you could use more than one color?”
“...yes. But—”
“I want it to be spring colors! Pink! And green! And yellow! How many shades of pink do you have?”
(at this stage there is quite a lot of rummaging in boxes, and comparing the available colors of cotton crochet thread)
“So, this is supposed to have nine central pieces, and would possibly end up the size of a tablecloth. Oh, but I see some people on Ravelry have made versions with only four pieces. Ok, that might work...gosh these charts are kind of weird. Maybe the instructions will help.”
the website with the charts: I'm afraid I don't understand the instructions for the second part, but perhaps someone who reads this will contribute the instructions! My copy of the original is damaged at this spot.
“Whee! Looks like I’m winging it!”

Hope you’re having a good day. 💕 Sending you all the love and hugs 😘
Awwh thanks so much! My day was filled with cleaning which is a good thing. It's the fall equinox and the pagan festival Mabon. So I did some cleaning and I made apple cider last night! I'm having a pretty good start to my fall.
Hope you're having a great day and I'm sending you all the love and hugs as well!

Fall Equinox
Happy fall to all.
The equinox arrives
Bringing changing strides
Of day to night
From sun to moon-light.
Summer step down
Pass your crown
To fair Fall,
The ficklest of them all.
Spring was bright and fun
And summer a hot mess,
But now their reigns are done.
Autumn is come to bless
The harvest and winter's rest.
Fall be kind
To the creatures at work
Readying for the cold, cold hurt.
Fall be slow
To overtake the breeze
As storms brew on boiling seas.
Fall be bright
As death must come to all
But beauty can liven any pall.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful equinox!
Thoughts and criticisms are welcome.
