How To Make A Market Wallet (medieval bag)
First, you’re going to get a rectangle of fabric that’s as long, and twice as wide as you want the bag to be. A nice big one is about 1.5 metres by 1 metre. The fabric should be something sturdy - a thick linen is probably most period-accurate, but a sturdy cotton drill works quite nicely.
You also want 2-4 little squares, about 1 to 1.5 inches. These are a surprise tool that will help us later.
Tumblr media
First off, fold the rectangle in half across the width. Work out how big you want the pockets of the bag to be, and pin on both sides (I usually fold lengthwise to get similar proportions). Make sure to leave a good amount of space in the middle, as this will become your opening.
Tumblr media
It should now look like this.
Tumblr media
Next, backstitch from the ends up to where you’ve pinned, leaving a slit in the centre.
Tumblr media
Fell the seam by cutting one side of the seam allowance down by half, folding the other side around it, and securing with a whipstitch (this stops it from fraying AND creates a very strong seam).
(Sorry for the bad lighting I was in the car).
Tumblr media
Next, fold the bag so the seam is in the centre. This is almost what the finished bag will look like.
Tumblr media
Sew along the ends with more backstitches, and fell the seam. We’re nearly done!
Tumblr media
Then you wanna hem the centre slit. I rolled the fabric over twice, and whipstitched into place.
Next, you want those little squares of fabric. At each end of the opening slit, you’re going to position them diagonally, with their edges folded inward. I like to do one on the front and reverse sides (so 4 squares total), but you might be able to get away with just 2. Whipstitch these into place. They will stop the slit ripping open (this is a real problem).
Tumblr media
Well done, your bag should be finished!! Wear it by folding it across the centre slit, twisting it slightly, and slinging it over your shoulder. It is best to weight the sides fairly evenly, but I’ve never found this to be too difficult. The wide “strap” does make it very comfortable though.
Feel free to comment/reblog, or send an ask if you have any questions, or I haven’t made anything quite clear enough! The photo limit makes it difficult to show every step as it happens unfortunately. I am considering doing some video tutorials in future for a couple of my bigger projects (likely hosted on YouTube with the link sent here). Let me know if you’re interested!

NEW CARRIE FOOTAGE FOUND!!
HUGE DISCOVERY!!
Ok in all fairness this is from 3 years ago but I just found this video while searching for info about Act 2. I've been hunting for Carrie Data and found this video made by the Scott Mulligan archives. IT CONTAINS NEW FOOTAGE OF IN!!
Clips are down below, at 0:43 and 1:14
youtube
Now you can tell that it's not from the Act 1 footage we currently have and also that it isn't from Stratford, because it zooms in and out. Both the full Stratford and Act 1 tape don't zoom in as well. The only known tape that zooms in and out is, The Mandlebaum Tape
It's also important to note that the footage was filmed in the upper seats. This is a new development. If it is the Mandlebaum tape it changes the perception that it was filmed in the lower seats.
Christopher Scott initially posted this comment responding to someone:
"Yes, that is brand new footage, glad you noticed! There's a chance that a few more excerpts from that might be released in the future, but there are currently no plans to release it all due to a rise in uncredited reposts and just plain stealing of footage from one channel to another channel (this is also why we use a watermark on all our videos). Sorry, but watch this space for updates!"
But sadly he followed up with this:
"see this is why i never wanted to release any of this…no one is grateful for what they get to see..they just ask for more More MORE it’s like total ingrates, i’ve changed my mind, i don’t want to release any more of this"
WE WERE THIS CLOSE TO GETTING MORE CARRIE FOOTAGE
iewuffwjnkjbweiu
Hopefully he will change his mind again. I left him a comment thanking him for posting it.
Well we know that there's footage out there, someone else just needs to find it.

HELP!1! What do I do???
Emo history lesson time!
So, you’ve just learnt you want to become ‘emo’, or it could be a little angsty phase against your parents- who cares. We’ve all been there. The main thing you’re panicking on is- where the heck do I start?? Don’t worry, I got you :)
───────────────────────
Where did 'emo' come from? A better understanding into the backstory of the culture.
Emo was born from music in the 1980s- but became much more popular in the early 2000s, much like most subcultures. The Emo subculture deviated against the grain originally as a sub-genre of punk music. With its unique sound, confrontational sad lyrics and more complex arrangements compared to typical mainstream punk music. Emo music typically touched on deeper issues, addictions and suicidal ideations.
The word ‘Emo’ comes from the word 'emotional' or ‘emotive’. Again, in relation to the music that feeds into the heart of the subculture. The Emo subculture is generally associated with youth who are dispirited and angry with society, other people, or themselves- or just downright anarchists.
TLDR PLZ?.. Basically, Emo came from a music genre- bloomed in the early 2000s, and typically is associated with little angsty shits. Like you ;p
