Character Synopsis: Mimi was once the child of a noble lord and lady, having been born very weak and sick, his parents would spend years trying to find a way to stabilize his condition, unfortunately they did not have the time, as Mimi’s condition worsened beyond their control and he eventually passed away. The despair of the lord and lady was felt throughout the city, as they invested in a massive funeral precession in honor of their son. All the while, Mimi’s ghost watched from their home, confused, but free. He quickly found the head maid who alongside his mother would sing him lullabies to sleep, after she feinted from the shock of seeing him, they spoke for a while and she began to understand his predicament. She insisted that he not show himself to his parents quite yet, as they would surely seek a way to bring him back from the dead rather than let him be free from the body that ailed him so. She told him to seek out the adventurers guild, and that surely he would be able to find a new way to live outside in the world until his parents moved on from their grief and could meet him again in this form.

Player Home: Valeview Keep
Sometimes moving up in the world feels almost intangible. Other times it’s quite literal, involving hauling all your worldly possessions up a cliff and a dizzying number of stares to make yourself at home in your new tower. Oh your knees will hate you, for sure, but the new scenery is more than worth it.
Setup: After impressing the local nobility, the party are rewarded with a keep and the knighthood that goes with it, signaling their progression from common sellswords to champions of the realm. As castles go, Valeview keep is a stout and sturdy construction, built to survey a winding river and the prosperous trade settlement that sits upon it. Garrisoning a small force of fast-response cavalry, the keep was meant to act as a sort of feudal fire-station, sighting dangers throughout the valley and dispatching those who might be able to help as fast as possible. Living side by side with these soldiers at arms is likely to color the party’s time at Valeview with a sense of duty and camaraderie, as these brave souls deal with the wandering monsters and petty squabbles while letting the party concentrate on the big picture.
Hooks:
Knighthood will bring an unexpected number of benefits to the party’s lives, ranging from the yearly income of surrounding lands to invitations to every mid-range feast and tourney in the duchy. This will give the party a chance to hobnob with nobles, warriors, and socialites alike, and will introduce them to a whole new tier of adventure hook they’d never have access to as simple freelancers.
There may be an adjustment period as the party adapts to lives of peerage while the Valeview outriders get used to having to actually answer to someone.  Pranks may be played, Crude caricature graffitid in out of the way corners of the keep, maybe even a cutting nickname or two. The means to overcoming this tension is for the party to demonstrate to the garrison that they’re not just some lordly brownnosers who’ve been handed their position and join the outriders on one of their hunts. A few outings helping to Keep local monster populations in check and tracking outlaws through the mud will convince the hardriding warriors that their new keepmates are on the up and up,  especially when an unusually strong beast wanders in from the deep wilds and throws what might’ve been a routine patrol into chaos.
War is brewing on the continent, and while the dukes, ambassadors, and spies busy themselves with the grand chessgame of tactics and diplomacy, the party are faced with the challenge of defending their valley from enemy incursion. Before hostilities officially break out, foreign scouts sweep through the valley looking for weaknesses and tactical advantages, while their commander has devised a clever plan to keep the party and their outriders occupied: securing the loyalty of a plunder hungry giant by the name of Thognar and letting him maraud through the region like a living war engine. The party will hear whispers of conflict and spies mere days before the giant bursts onto the scene, ripping merchant barges from the river and burning cottages to keep warm at night, but it may take a direct conflict with the brute to realize that he has received both armor and orders from foreign hands.
Thognar is too tough to take down in a single skirmish, so the party’s primary means of dispatching the giant might be angering him enough to pursue them back to Valveview keep and wearing him down from behind their fortifications. This will involve a breakneck chase across the valley, then drawing the giant inside the sturdy stone fortifications where their courtyard can act as a killbox.
Ameanities & Upgrades
Captain Winnry Morgale acts as the party’s Castellan, commanding the garrison while the heroes are away and ensuring Valeview remains in fighting shape. An older soldier and local to the valley, Morgale is loyal and fastidious in her duties but is having trouble adjusting to life out of the saddle after suffering an injury while fending off a grey render some years ago. Morgale had been one of Valveview’s most longserving riders and had to be forcefully promoted to majordomo to allow her to recover, an elevation that mirrors the party’s own unexpected rise in station.  Perhaps commiserating about their shared feeling of undeserved ascension over a cool mug of ale will help the party break through the captain’s stern and subordinate outer shell and win the heart of the garrison to their side.
Key to Valeview’s functioning as an early response system is a series of watchtowers and beacons throughout the valley, which can be sighted from the keep’s tall tower without needing to wait for a messenger to make the miles long trek from the far peaks. Over the years of wear this system has begun to wear down, from beacon towers being neglected as funds have tightened, to a general shortage of manpower . Should the party devote some of their feudal funds towards refurbishing the beacon system ( as well as clearing out the few beast dens that’ve popped up in the meantime), they’ll eventually be approached by a goblin engineer by the name of Ruphyllis Glinnt who’s had an idea on improving the beacon system by replacing the cumbersome bonfires with a system of lenses and mirrors. Ruphyllis does indeed know what he’s doing, but he’s been  co-opted by a gang con-artists that’re using the debts he worked up on other projects to exploit his cleverness.
Now that they’re in possession of a knightly domicile, the party will need a staff, cooks and cleaners, grooms and valets, the dozens of hardworking individuals that make any castle run. Thankfully they’ll have help organizing this hydra of domestic chaos in the form of their new steward: Idius Spry, a fanciful gnomish gentleman who’s been a fixture in their liege’s household for generations. While helpful in the extreme and quick with a joke, Spry is infact reporting the goings on of Valeview back to the party’s liege, ensuring that these mercurial adventurers stick to their new sworn duties as feudal vassals.

Enjoying my first bottle of Jun tea! This one is flavored with raspberries from my yard and some Jalapeño jelly. It’s delicious, but I need to ferment it longer for effervescence. Excited for the subsequent bottles!

My first go at Kombucha actually turned out great! I’m so ecstatic! I should have recorded the shock on my face when I opened it and realized it actually carbonated.
I did individual bottles so I could do different flavorings and play around the first time.
This one in particular was a dupe on the Brew Dr Clear Mind, with Rosemary, Sage, Mint and Green Tea. I’ve thus far not found anyone else that actually likes that flavor, but I do, so 🤷🏼‍♀️
I have 3 more flavors in my fridge to try and another batch ready to bottle tomorrow. New hobby unlocked!

Hi! I don't know if you still look at this blog, but I'm working on some fanfic and had questions only you can answer!
First, the pastebin from LHFF has more info on Wen and the player cities than the wikia does, I assume it's more updated than the wikia but was hoping you could confirm?
Second, are there guns in Elder Tales? Flintlocks are very much associated with Pirates, so I would figure the pirate class would at least have a skill that lets them fire one or be able to use them in general.
Third and final question, Do you have a list of the expansions that have been mentioned? I only know Cendrillon's Legacy and Homesteading the Noosphere but I haven't found the name for the one that added ships and naval quests and stuff.
Hope you can answer any of these, and thanks in advance!
The reason why the wiki doesn't contain all the info on the pastebin is because I prefer the wiki to stick closer to "official" info. I know Mamare had a fairly laissez faire approach to Log Horizon canon and regularly accepted fans' ideas and characters, but a lot of early Log Horizon stuff was 4chan homebrew info that has no official basis. There's anything wrong with it in and of itself, but I didn't want to "canonize" it through the wiki when the actual state of other servers is largely left up to fans to imagine.
No guns in Elder Tale, that appears to be a hard rule that Mamare intended to stick by for the rest of the series. (Probably because he already went in that direction as a plot point for his previous series, Maoyuu.)
It's a bit roundabout (which is my fault), but they're listed on the wiki's Timeline page.

Einfiel Ravagwyn
Firbolg Tempest Cleric (Snow Storms/Cold Dmg Spells)
While Valyur was my first D&D character by technicality I consider Einfiel my first D&D character by choice. I designed her and homebrewed basically her whole background and god.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Feel free to use him or a version of him. This is some pretty old writing at this point LOL So it's not the best but the idea is there so that's good enough.
Tbh I thought it was pretty lame that tempest was only considered water storms. There are so many cool storms out there-- Like imagine a sand storm based tempest?! Idk, need more storm options LOL
Einfiel herself lives in a drawf / firbolg community on the tundra within a rainbow forest (think those cool rainbow trees) and the people there mine a unique and beautiful iridescent mineral they named after the nymph of the aurora borealis and the rainbow; Kluerco. They're predominately a smithy and religion based homestead and aside from their market place their community is known to be closed to most outsiders. They have safe places in case of a particularly bad snow storm ect but those aren't within the true village. Essentially there layers to the exclusivity.
Einfiel got her powers because, unlike her community she was too curious about the outside world and after getting into a disagreement with her very devote and religious family she ran off. Subsequently she got lost in a huge snow storm and in her final moments she called out to the fury of Dauorheim and he answered. He marked her hand with frostbite and since forth she's answered his biting call whenever it floats on a cold wind.
I love Einfiel and would love a chance to get to play her again.

Leech Seal

Notes from a Homesteader
“I’ve been feeding this thing five hunks of meat a day for the past six weeks, it just don’t stop eatin, might need to ask a Troll for a finger or two so I don’t have to keep hunting. I learned a trick from that Witch we met back in Everis to keep a trolls meat from makin another troll when you eat it (Check the notes below to see the recipe).”
“It’s been a few months since my last update, but I wouldn’t’ve believed it myself unless I’d seen it with my own eyes, but this critter actually laid a dozen or so eggs, and now we’ve got a bunch of lil leech pups on the way. I wanted to start making a Swamp area for it to live in with its pups, but the one of the ranch heads said not to do that quite yet so that we can properly make its environment and then add the proper flowers and animals to it and all that what not.”
*Two Cups of a Sugar Plum Fairies Enchanted Sparkles, Fermented Jelly from the Eye of an Imp, and a clipping of a Myling Umbilical Cord, let stew in the water from a Bog where Trolls bathe for two days, and then let rest for an hour or so before removing the meat, it SHOULD retain its regenerative properties.

Description
A complete guide to using the best ingredients and minimal equipment to create fun and flavorful brewsAncient societies brewed flavorful and healing meads, ales, and wines for millennia using only intuition, storytelling, and knowledge passed down through generations--no fancy, expensive equipment or degrees in chemistry needed. In Make Mead Like a Viking, homesteader, fermentation enthusiast, and self-described "Appalachian Yeti Viking" Jereme Zimmerman summons the bryggjemann of the ancient Norse to demonstrate how homebrewing mead--arguably the world's oldest fermented alcoholic beverage--can be not only uncomplicated but fun. Armed with wild-yeast-bearing totem sticks, readers will learn techniques for brewing sweet, semi-sweet, and dry meads, melomels (fruit meads), metheglins (spiced meads), Ethiopian t'ej, flower and herbal meads, braggots, honey beers, country wines, and even Viking grog, opening the Mead Hall doors to further experimentation in fermentation and flavor. Finally bottled my first batch of Jun tea since I discovered that the new scoby had already formed!
I did a small batch to help get my scoby accustomed to this environment so I only got three bottles out of it but I have another jug a-brewin and this time I filled the jug all the way to the top so I’ll have more at the end of this.
Since I have two jars brewing, my plan is to eventually acclimate one of them to brew Jun on hojicha (roasted green tea). More on that later I suppose!

Adventure: The Pirates of Silverlinn
One of the most unexpected consequences of the development of air ship technology is that one was no longer safe from piracy no matter how far inland one traveled. While the proliferation of vessels left the populace vulnerable to attacks from above,  Authorities struggled to adapt as to whether these raids should be tried under maritime or continental law, as the former necessitated the presence of an actual ocean, and the latter had no precedent for crimes that were committed on a ship but without a river.
-Finnegan of Westfarthing, the Rectification of Law, 3rd printing.
Setup:  Gilding the side of the mountain like a fine piece of filigree and once the summer palace of a fanciful if financially shortsighted duke, Silverlinn hall fell into years of disrepair after its owner’s debts (and violent creditors) finally caught up with him. Recently however it has become home to a particularly enterprising group of brigands, who have salvaged a vessel left over from an areal skirmish during the last war, which had fallen into one of the nearby valleys and had been lost in the snow. Sallying forth on their new raiding ship, “the Grim Wind”, they strike at the lowlands, raiding trade routes and noble estates for plunder and farmsteads for supplies, before retreating up into the mountains far beyond the reach of any pursuer.
As these attacks continue to escalate in boldness and frequency, the canny leader of the brigands, a dwarf by the name of Halvir “Half-fuse” Worndel has realized they need to take extra steps to prevent reprisals. A small menagerie of kidnapped highborn have taken up residence in the once august hall, disappeared in the middle of the night by the Grim Wind’s crew in order to prevent their loved ones from acting against the pirates.
Adventure Hooks:
While the Brigands of Silverlinn are experts at covering their tracks, their most recent “acquisition” might be their undoing. Thought of than nothing more than the eccentric and flighty daughter of a baroness, Pythia of house Ultani was born with the gift of dreamwalking, a talent that she cultivated greatly while avoiding the social functions her elder siblings excelled at. When she begins appearing in the party’s dreams, seeking aid after walking the halls of sleep, she shows them the mountains outside her windows, and from there it’s only a matter of enlisting a skilled cartographer to pinpoint just where the Brigand’s hold might be.
Silverlinn was built on the roots of a tapped out silvermine, bisected by a narrow cavern system carved from glacial melt. The brigands have made use of all of these spaces, digging tunnels to link manor, mine, and moat, many of which are used to store their blundered goods or shelter from winter storms that plague the mountainside. These branching paths may provide the party numerous avenues of infiltration once they’ve made their way up the slopes, or a labyrinth to get lost in as they try to escape.
Should the party manage to defeat the brigands, they’ll suddenly find themselves in possession of both a once-noble hall and a functioning airship. Both are doubtlessly in need of repairs, but with a little work they might have just stumbled into a longterm base of operations.
Upgrades and Amenities
While the old summer palace served as a bandit hideout, it will need a bit of work before it can really be considered a home. Repairs must be made, and before anything else a staff of drivers must be obtained to move both people and materials up the shoddily maintained paths that the old barron used to supply his manor. Once this is done however, work will proceed quickly, and Silverlinn will once again become a warm and welcoming place among the piercing blue of the mountains.
That said, it’s not as if the brigands didn’t leave them anything. In addition to the masses of loot, well provisioned storerooms, and armory, the outlaws also did extensive scouting of the local regions, providing a whole host of adventure hooks and insights on valuable targets in their maproom.
Now in possession of an airship and its dock, the party will need to set about hiring people to staff both. While Silverlinn proves amble place to put them all, repairs should be made to the pirate jetty, which is admittingly ramshackle. Once done however, the party will not only be able to repair their airship, but upgrade it, provided they have a competent mechanist on site.

Since the weather will keep me from recklessly rushing into it winter seems like the perfect time to do some research and see if I'll want to add bees to our little menagerie here once spring comes. I enjoy my mead making but honey is pretty expensive. Better pollination also means more fruit on the volunteer blackberry bushes out back and in the side yard, so I can start experimenting with blackberry wine and melomel. Our garden plots will be better off for it, too, if it's feasible.
I think I can manage a hive or two, but I want to make sure I know what that involves before I get in too deep.
