Minho is a fuckboy, and your closest friend. He is known for pretty much giving his dick to whoever asked him to fuck them. You know it’s exaggerated by the rumors and he does not actually fuck anybody, but it’s true that he isn't too hard to convince. It isn't bad though. People do not see him as a whore, he is seen as a boy who can help you out if you are in need of some.. relief.

You, on the other hand, have never slept with someone else. You have already tried some solo pleasure, of course, but you are a virgin. And you are tired of being one. You want to see what real sex is like.

This is how you ended up here, sitting in the school library, talking about it with your friend Hyunjin because to hell with taboos.

— Who says he will be ? We're talking about Minho here. He'll probably tease you a bit, but he's the sweetest and most understanding guy I know under his 'do not touch me i am not nice' act. He'll stop joking as soon as he sees it makes you uncomfortable and we both know how observant he is, he'll know if it bothers you in less than a second.

— I know. But what if he just doesn't want to ? And if he's too kind to say no ? It's not every day your best friend asks you to take their virginity.

— Sweetie, calm down. Once again, we're talking about Minho here. He's an honest guy, he'll tell you if he doesn't want to do it. He knows it'd do more bad than good to force himself to do it. And worst case scenario, it'll be a little bit awkward between you for a few days, but it'll be back to normal soon. You know him, it wouldn't change the way he sees you. Hyunjin reassures as he puts his hand on yours and gives you a fond look before chuckling. Besides, he'd be stupid to refuse !

— Yeah... You're right. Minho's amazing for that. But you say that like anyone would want to fuck me. It doesn't feel like it. you pout again, playing with his long fingers.

— Well, maybe I wouldn't, because I'm already in a happy relationship with Jisung. But it doesn't prevent me from admitting that you are hot, even though I say it without being attracted to you. Plus I wouldn't be your friend if you were a bitch. And it's always better to fuck someone with a good personality. he winks, trying to make you relax slightly and it actually works as you release the pressure in your shoulders and give him a small smile.

— Mmh.. I'll see if I ask him later. you say softly and shrug before squeezing his hand lightly as a sign for him to get up too. How about we go to the cafeteria grab some food now ?"

You leave the library and head to the cafeteria to eat with your friends, sitting next to Minho as usual. You talk normally, laughing to Felix's jokes and Seungmin’s fake gag at how lovely dovey Jisung and Hyunjin are being, until the latter starts kicking your leg not so gently under the table. You roll your eyes at him, silently telling him to please stop doing that right fucking now before you throw your ratatouille on his oh so pretty and new white shirt. He immediately puts away his leg, not without glaring at you meaningfully. ‘you know I'm right’. You sigh and go back to eating while listening to the others.

It's only a little bit later though that you get the opportunity to actually talk with Minho when he turns to you discreetly and looks directly in your eyes. He seems to be feeling a mix of annoyance and concern as he puts his hand on your chair before speaking.

“Okay what’s up ? he doesn't beat around the bush when he asks you that, just being his usual honest self. You've been having a whole conversation with your eyes with Hyunjin for the past few minutes without even opening your mouth once. I would have let it be and thought it was none of my business if Hyunjin hadn't been looking at me so intensely while you were pouting, avoiding my face and just openly being unhappy. So I'm asking you. What’s up ?” he asks in a gentle and low voice despite the bluntness of his words, not wanting the boys to meddle in your business.

You sigh again. Great. Now you were going to have to tell him. He would know immediately if you lie, you didn't have a choice. You give Hyunjin a death glare. ‘thanks, bastard’. Why did he always have to be like that ?

“Look, Minmin I… Can we talk about it later ? After school we can go for a walk or I don't know. you don't even really look at his eyes as you speak, too embarrassed.

— Mmh… Sure, yeah.” he looks cautious, yet he nods and squeezes your shoulder lightly as a sign of reassurance.

He lets his arm rest wrapped around your shoulders for the rest of your lunch break, not even bothering to remove it. You're still slightly nervous, but he doesn't say anything about it, trying to not make you uncomfortable or self-conscious.

The rest of the day goes by like this. You're not really able to focus completely on your classes, a part of your mind constantly going back to the conversation you were going to have with Minho. ‘It's going to be sooo awkward if he says no’. Yet you try not to worry too much. As Hyunjin said, Minho is honest and (secretly not so secretly) very kind, so everything will be okay. With that, Minho spends the day being his caring self, even paying extra attention to not tease you too much as he senses your tension.

“Alright. This was the last class of the day. Where do you want to go to talk ? Minho looks at you patiently as you walk together.

— I don't really know, Minho. you mumble and he arches a brow in slight concern at your anxious tone.

— Okay, okay. What about we go to the grocery store to grab a little something to drink while we walk to my place ? We can pass by the park, it's always nice. he offers nicely as he looks at you fondly.

You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding and nod, giving him a small but genuine smile. You walk together peacefully, Minho complaining about random stuff to make you laugh and distract you. By the time you reach the grocery store, you're a lot more relaxed and confident about telling him.

“What do you want to drink ? he asks as he stops in front of the cold drinks section, hands on his hips.

— I think I'm just going to take a lollipop, don't worry. you shake your hand softly for him to let it go but all he does is tilting his head to look back at you with a raised eyebrow and you can't help but laugh at his position.

— You serious ? It's hot out there, you know.

— Yes, thank you. I’m not that stupid. you roll your eyes before staring at him in disbelief when you hear him mumble a ‘not so sure’ and run after your laughing best friend, chasing him until he can't run anymore.

— I was joking ! I was joking !” he pleads as you punch his shoulder more or less lightly, still laughing.

You just pout and punch him once more before smiling at him thankfully. You know he could just push you away but he lets you do that to make you feel better.

“Seriously though, are you sure you don't want anything to drink ? he asks when you finally stop.

— Yes, sir. you answer with a chuckle and he frowns, looking at you with squinty eyes for a moment before moving.

— We’ll share a bottle of juice. he simply states. Which one do you want ?

— What ? No, Minho I–

— Let's go for this one then. he ignores you and grabs a small bottle before heading towards the store cash desk, making you sigh.

— Thank you.. you mumble and he doesn't say anything, yet you don't miss the way his lips curl up slightly.

— Here's your candy !” he says as he throws a lollipop of your favorite flavor at you.

You fight for a minute about who is going to pay until you find a nice compromise. On your way to the park before you go to Minho’s place, you forget to worry about asking him. You’re just comfortable with your best friend and it's all that matters.

“Minmin– you start but he cuts you off.

— Are you seriously going to call me like that again ? he groans.

— But it's cute ! I like it, and I'm sure that deep inside, a little part of you likes it too. And you let me call you that in the cafeteria !

— Because you looked nervous as hell. he gives you a stern look.

— You know what, whatever. I was going to ask if we could talk but forget it. you pout and turn around.

— Seriously ? Oh come on ! Do you want to talk here in the park or at my place ? he asks but you keep pouting for a second before speaking.

— Here.” you mumble as you sit on the nearest bench.

He settles next to you silently, watching you with a soft gaze as you take a deep breath. Although you're a lot calmer than earlier, you're still worried about telling him. But if you keep spiraling on that, you’ll never do it, so you cut your thoughts and begin.

“So…I don't know how to say this so I'll just ask like this, okay ? you pause, waiting for him to nod before continuing. You know that I'm.. y’know.. like.. I've never had sex... And hum.. well I-I don't want it to be like that anymore and I trust you and I know you and I know you're somewhat, like, hum… e-experienced..? So I was wondering if you could help me maybe ? you ramble in a shy voice, speaking more and more lowly with each word and by the time you're done your face is bright red.

— So you're asking me to be your first and take your virginity because I'm your best friend and I fuck regularly, right ? you look at him with wide eyes, his expression unreadable. How can he be so blunt ?

— … more or less yeah. you look down with embarrassment.

— Why did you not just say it like that ? I can't believe you were in such a state for this ! he bursts out laughing. Now I understand why Hyunjin was looking at you like that.

I’m glad my reputation can actually be useful. he smiles at you and rubs your back gently as you sigh in relief, slowly resting your head on his shoulder. But I understand why you were stressed about it.

— Yeah.. you whisper with a tiny smile, resting your head in the crook of his neck as you simply enjoy the moment. Everything feels so easy with him.

— So.. do you want to do it today ? We don't have to though if you want to wait a little. he offers softly after a small, comfortable silence. We can just start with some kissing, to see how it feels. he says before you can start panicking.

— You'd really do it, like, now ? you ask and he gives you a slightly annoyed, yet still soft, look. I-I mean… yeah, it'd be good. you blush slightly and he chuckles, ruffling your hair gently.

He doesn't reply, just carefully removes your head from his shoulder to make you look at him. He smiles sweetly as he looks at your red ears, eyes slightly widened in apprehension. He brushes a strand of hair out of your face and strokes your flushed cheek in a gentle, almost romantic gesture, before suddenly bursting out laughing. You immediately look at him with confusion, your whole body tense.

“If you're going to act this awkward we're never going to get through this. he laughs and you look down, embarrassed. It's okay. Just close your eyes and let me guide you, okay ? You trust me, don't you ?” you nod and he smiles softly.

You do as he says, closing your eyes and letting him do the rest. He carefully cups your jaw before leaning in closer and landing his mouth on yours gently. The kiss is soft and tender, and it’s so good. You melt into it as your hand instinctively reaches for his own. He takes his time, not rushing anything. He started slowly moving his lips, letting you get used to it and mirror his actions. When he pulled away and looked at you, your eyes were already opened and shining, a grin forming on your face.

“I guess you liked it. he chuckles again as you nod eagerly.

— It was so sweet ! I didn't know you were such a great kisser. And I didn't think it would feel so nice. you squeeze his hand still in yours and he looks at you fondly. You are so cute.

— So what ? Were you expecting me to be a bad kisser ? he teases.

— No ! It's not what I meant. you roll your eyes. Is it okay if I want another one ? you ask somewhat shyly.

— Sure.”

He kisses you again and it's just as good. There's still no rush, no pressure. It's just full of the tenderness and affection Minho has always had for you as your best friend. You keep going like that, kissing again and again with the same softness until you naturally move to straddle his lap carefully, arms wrapped around his neck to continue to kiss him softly again and again. It's so nice, and you feel him smile against your lips.

“I think we should maybe continue like that at my place, love. Unless you want to do it another day. It’d absolutely be okay.” he whispers when he pulls away, resting his hands on your hips and looking at you patiently.

You're a bit embarrassed at first when you notice the way you're sitting on his thighs facing him. You didn't think you were that close to him when you first moved to settle there. But you quickly forget about it, deciding that it doesn't matter and you can just trust Minho.

“I think… it's a good idea.” you reply with a somewhat shy smile.

a/n: hiii ! i promised a post. and even tho it's a week or two late, it's here!! i loved this one btw. heavily inspired by ari's song. it's one of my faves. this took me forever cuz i had so many ideas and versions of it and i couldnt decide which route i wanted to go with it. idk hope y'all like it ig. oh and miles is ooc cuz like... idk how he is.

“im sorry for coming over last minute.” it was almost midnight when miles had called you asking for a place to stay the night. you were the only person he knew who lived around this unfamiliar area. 

“no, it’s alright. don’t worry.” you looked down at the floor, avoiding miles’ gaze. admittedly, you were nervous. it was your first time seeing miles after your breakup. which didn’t go all too well, but it’s in the past now. 

“if you’re not comfortable with me staying here, i get it. i’ll find some other place.” miles had noticed your uneasy manner. 

“no! it’s fine! it’s late and i don’t want you out there by yourself” you finally looked up at him, “what are you doing here anyways?” 

“oh uhm, there’s this like robotics competition around here, good prize money y’know?” miles hesitated. 

you knew miles better than anyone, you know when he’s lying. he’s making it so painfully obvious that he’s lying. he was probably here for prowler business. but, it wasn’t your place to worry anymore.

“oh, sounds fun.” 

“your mom won't mind?”

“what?”

“your mom wont mind that i'm staying the night?”

“oh uhm, probably not. she’s at her boyfriends house so…” you shrugged

“oh.” 

 miles stood stiffly in front of you waiting for anything to happen. and you stood, well, also stiffly looking around your living room. god, this was so fucking awkward.

“um well, you can set your bag in my room and i’ll get you some old clothes of yours that i… still have.” you admitted, very very embarrassingly. miles slightly smiled, amused by your behavior. 

you led the way to your room, and miles trailed behind you. as he was walking, he looked around the apartment he once knew so well. he took notice of anything new, whether it was recent photos in frames or decorations your mother put up to match the season. 

once in your room, miles gently set his bag next to your bed. he observed you as you got clothes from your drawer. you were dressed in some graphic tee and christmas pajama pants. which miles so happened to have an exact pair of (maybe because you insisted on matching for the holidays and well, who was miles to deny you?)

“here you go.”

“thanks.” miles took the clothes from your hands and walked to the bathroom.

you let out a breath that you didn’t even know you were holding in. why were you so nervous? a couple months ago you guys could act freely around each other and now you guys can barely even make eye contact. there was no denying that you missed miles. you missed the calls that would last for hours. you missed laying together in bed. you missed his laugh. you missed everything and anything about miles. 

you weren’t expecting his call at all. he was the one who decided on no contact after all. and if you were being honest you were mad that he had the balls to ask to spend the night after not talking to you for months. but you didn’t have it in you to say no to miles. 

when miles came back, you were lying on a makeshift bed on the floor scrolling through your phone. it couldn’t have been comfortable. 

“you’re not sleeping on that.” miles immediately advised you. you looked up from your phone with a grin. 

“oh i know. you’re sleeping that.” you got up from the floor and climbed on top of your bed. miles watched your antics with a hand on his hips. you looked at him and he rolled his eyes. 

“well at least i was tryna be a gentleman.” he huffed as he laid down on the floor. you rolled over to the edge of your bed to look at miles who was getting comfy on the floor (which was surprisingly comfortable.)

you wanted him to say something. anything. ask how you’ve been, what you’ve been up to. you wanted to talk to him, tell him the latest drama from your school. anything that would break this god-awful silence. but, nothing ever came. it was late, and if he wasn’t gonna try anything, neither were you. 

you looked at miles’ face, admiring your favorite features of his. he quickly took notice and looked back at you. miles smiled nervously, hoping you wouldn’t notice how his cheeks turned red because of your gaze. fortunately for him, you were as giddy as him, if not more. your cheeks also blushed up and you just couldn’t handle it.

“stop looking at me like that!” you cried before hiding your face in your covers.

“what! ¿qué hice?” miles chuckled, throwing his hands in the air in defense. 

“you know what you did!” you insisted with your face still buried in your covers.

“ ‘m sorry i can’t help it.” he whispered. you shifted to your lay on your side, facing miles.

“miles you can’t say that.” you whispered back. 

“why not?”

“miles…” 

“i know, i’m sorry.” miles mumbled. 

and once again, silence filled the room. you could hear miles’ soft breaths and you were sure he could hear yours.

“k pues, goodnight.” 

“goodnight, y/n/n.” 

15 or so minutes had passed and you still couldn’t sleep. you were tossing and turning on your bed. why couldn’t you sleep? is it because it’s so cold even though it’s august? or was it the fact that your ex was sleeping on your bedroom floor? probably the first one. you shivered, trying to find some warmth within your blankets. why was it so fucking cold? you sigh, there was only one way you were gonna be able to sleep tonight. 

“miles?” 

“hm?”

“you awake?”

“yeah, can’t sleep. why?” miles waited for a response but all he heard was shuffling. then, he saw you standing over him with your pillow and an extra blanket.

“can i sleep with you?” miles nearly jumped at the offer. how could he ever reject you? 

“yeah of course.” miles made space for you on the ground and you quickly set your pillow down next to his. you got under the same covers as him with the extra you brought being quickly discarded. 

it wasn’t until you were fully settled in that you realized your position. your face was merely inches away from miles’. though it didn’t bother you like you thought it would and miles didn’t seem bothered either. in habit, you rested one of your legs over miles’. instinctively miles wrapped his arm around your waist to pull you in closer to him. you brought your hand up to caress miles’ cheek. you closed your eyes as miles rubbed circles on your waist with his thumb.

you missed this. so did miles. but as long as he was the prowler, he couldn’t be with you. despite how much he wanted to.

What's your honest opinion on Edo-tensei? Do you think it's a technique Kishimoto didn't master and that got away from him at the end of Naruto? Do you think it should have been explored more? Do you think it had more potential? Sometimes I feel like there was more to tell, more of Naruto's world. Did anyone else study this, and did Tobirama discover those studies? Did he discover it in Uzhio? Because in the Uzumaki Ruins, Minato discovered a technique that allows you to make a pact with a Shikigami... Or I don't know, I'm overthinking it.It's a technique that divides the fandom a lot. But it's a technique like many others; it's a weapon, the work says so, but it's even more divisive because of its requirements.

this is somewhat ooc for me but even with all the volumes i bought yesterday, i still don't actually own most of part one, including pretty much all of the konoha crush arc, i.e., the intro to edoten. so i'm kinda going off of memory here, sorry in advance for any inaccuracies. also, concerning minato (will address him in a bit), the version of volume 53 that i have is in english bc it's one of the ones i got from my brother, so i can't swear to how accurate the translation is.

starting from the top!

ok so. edo tensei is bullshit. and i think everyone knows that on some level. but once it existed it kinda couldn't. not anymore? edoten was introduced to show off the third hokage's abilities before killing him off (and ig establishing orochimaru as a Truly Evil villain but like. idk he's trying to eat people in the woods i feel like the zombies didn't really add to that much). ultimately almost everything about edo tensei is weird and kinda stupid if you think about it too much (and the rules keep changing! why did orochimaru try summoning minato then when by all accounts he had to have known he wouldn't be able to???? did he just decide "ok i'm gonna fuck with sensei on this one lol"? bc i'd believe that)

i won't pretend i dislike edoten or the role it played in the story, but overall it would've been better not to have made it at all. just made a huge mess. glad it's around, enjoy the chaos, the way to make it make sense is to pull it altogether. sorry edoten

that said, how tobirama created his jutsu isn't super dwelled on, as far as i can remember? it's kinda just "and then the second hokage created a new jutsu which was immediately put in the big scroll of Big Bro Says No" and i think we're kinda not supposed to think about it too much bc that would lead to more comparisons between orochimaru as he was introduced initially and tobirama as he was later established (from what i remember of it, they were pretty different than they were when he brought them back for the war arc, but as mentioned, i don't own that volume).

but i DO own volume 53! as kushina says, minato learned his sealing from her (and some from jiraiya iirc). but uh the thing is. idk if minato actually knew much about sealing aside from how to do it bc a lot of what he says in this volume made no damn sense. for starters, he seems to think that there's a limit to what seals he can do bc he's not a jinchuuriki, something that.... no one has ever said ever except for him right there. what did he mean by this. was he referring to how much chakra he has???? is he just dumb????? impossible to say bc this is to my knowledge literally never mentioned again ever. he then says that he's going to seal away only half of the nine tails bc. it's not possible to seal away all of it. he is speaking to his wife. who until like ten minutes ago had been living with all of the kyuubi's power sealed inside her, much like her predecessor. unless they weren't and being freed from kushina somehow reunited the kyuubi with the other half of his power, something that would have then also been true when he was transferred from mito to kushina (note that no one except minato has ever used the reaper death seal for this. in fact kushina was going to be using a different seal to put it (all) back inside of her so minato just kinda. died from being stupid i think????? then again apparently tobito was saying he wanted to rule the whole world back then and this volume is AFTER the one in which he explains the whole eye of the moon plan thing so maybe the real reason naruto is the chosen one is that the universe literally just did not experience consistency until he learned how to ask for grandpa third for more ramen money)

ishimondo wall-e au! it came to me in a dream.

mondo (… M.O.N.D-0???) is the last robot standing cleaning up earth when he gets a surprise visit from a rocket ship. on that ship is taka (… T.A.K.A???) who has been sent to find any proof that earth can support life once again. the two meet and shenanigans ensue. maybe they fall in love???

anyways, more rambling from me about these two under the cut.

okay! so my main thing with mondo and his behavior is that it’s all based on him being the last being on earth, so he really doesn’t have anyone around him (other than his pet cockroach, chuck!) and therefore doesn’t feel the need to act a certain way to impress anyone. so this is version of mondo is if he didn’t have a whole bunch of self-image issues and just was his funki and cringe self. he literally is cringe and free.

after years having to clean up earth, he’s grown an affinity for the little things to pass the time. like collecting little knick-knacks he finds on the job to bring back home or making figures out of the cubes of trash he makes. he’s a little artist and collector.

taka on the other hand is at first rigid and is set out to complete his directive because it’s what he was made to do. he has a whole population back on the axium counting on him to find any traces of life on earth (or so he thinks). he does occasionally display some signs of humanity and happiness. he feels warmth in the little things as well, like a cockroach or bubble wrap or a lighter. he’s enthralled and wants to know more about this strange place but can’t because he has a job to do. maybe the strange little robot guy he meets doesn’t throw him off his course.

design stuff! i know i made mondo look less… anthro ig??? in his design than taka, but i wanted to make up for it by “personalizing” him a bit. he’s doodled all over himself and he thinks his trousers make him look nice. maybe he thinks the doodles look badass because they’re like tattoos. i also did that to contrast more with taka, who looks spotless. i was considering giving him legs, but remembered that of course he would have wheels. biker, and alla that. he was born to roll around. and i don’t think it’s noticeable, but i tried to make his arms and hands bigger than wall-e’s because he’s a little stronger. in this au, mondo doesn’t do the trash compacting his his little cube body, but with his hands (to keep with the idea that mondo likes to work and creat stuff with his hands). so he needs to have bigger and more efficient tools. also, i changed his wheels to be diamond shaped.

taka meanwhile was super easy to design. he and eve have sorta similar design qualities, like a majority white color palette and very simple shapes with not a lot of detail going on. very easy to mix the two. the idea of his design is what spurred me into thinking about this au. the one thing i’ll point out is that i made eve’s little dots that pop up when she scans things vertical so that it can sort of resemble taka’s medal. idk i thought it was neat.

(also, if im being completely honest with myself, if taka was actually any wall-e character, he would be MO. just an angry gremlin that musters up the courage to stray off his path because he is so determined to clean up wall-e’s mess. and then they become friends at the end. he just gives off taka energy.)

anyways, that’s it for right now. im pretty satisfied with taka’s design, but im considering changing some things on mondo’s. mainly the color palette.

am i gonna turn this into a full-fledged story??probably not, but maybe i’ll add more onto it in the near future. like assigning other characters.

Yeah, it’s my first real play/first time auditioning! (I reckon I only got a part because I fit the typecast- “boy with protagonist vibes” is a rare breed at art school apparently- but yk, I do work real hard and care a lot too so that’s probably part of it lol.)

Idk about general advice, all I know is what works for me. Uhm but I can sure talk abt that ig!

-Confidence is like 90% of it. You’re marketing yourself, you gotta believe in yer product! And if ya don’t, you gotta at least talk like you do!

-I picked a monologue about an hour before the audition. Don’t do that. That’s stupid. It worked for me because I think I must have plot armor atp. But anyhow, I made that work by filming myself doing it like ten times to get an idea of what looked good, what didn’t, what angles showed my jawline the nicest-

-I also showed up dressed for the part, which is absolutely excessive for high school theater, but ya gotta understand I’m a jock-ish guy with lousy grades in the class the director teaches and no real experience with theater or strong feelings towards the art form. So yk. I had to stand out, force ‘em to notice me. (In this case it was a monologue from 12 angry men, and I showed up in a pinstriped shirt, my nicest pants, a trench coat, and w/ my hair greased all 50s-like. This worked out for me because the play we’re doing is also 50s, albeit a much more British version of it lol)

-I think I got decent at acting because I have this habit of looking in the mirror and singing- not musical sings, but like the rock stuff I usually listen to- and doing my best to sing like I’m really feeling it. Well, no, doing my best to feel it period. It sounds silly when I type it out in words and all, but honestly, I guess it’s essentially training myself to feel things on command. Like “Five Years” by David Bowie is my go-to “I need to fake cry” song, and “Happy Together” by The Turtles is for pretending to be in love. The method is a bit dumb, but it works for me at least.

-I was listening to this Rob Lowe autobiography (I’d give it a 7/10 if ur curious lol but that’s not the point) and he said something like how the trick to acting is to not act, and honestly that’s the best way to put it I can think of. It sounds real hippy-dippy an pretentious, but honest to god that’s how it feels.

Like for instance, the director said I’m really fantastic at pretending to be in love with my love interest. The thing is, when we’re onstage and in the scene, she’s not “girl who plays my love interest”, she’s suddenly my wife, and I care about her, and it’s impossible not to be in love. I’m not acting, really, I’m just there, and it’s easy.

(‘Course then we go back into the wings an’ she starts scrolling through instagram and I don’t even bother trying to ask her on a date because I don’t think I can handle rejection and still have to face her everyday and hug her and hold her hands in front of hundreds of people-)

-oh, I don’t know. This is a lot. Tl;dr, I guess- Acting is pretty easy if ya don’t have (much) anxiety and do have a decent imagination. Onstage you gotta be bigger than ya would be irl. Seeing yourself a lot/knowing how your expressions look/come off is helpful. Fearlessness is impossible, but doing things scared is better than not doing things at all. I’m sure the real theater kids probably have better/more succinct replies, so if they’d like to give their two cents in the notes, that’d rock lol.

Okay. Introduction done. Already I place this far below the Velvet Shadow, but to be honest, I was expecting to.

Before we tear into the meat and crack the bone, let's rip out the sweetmeats- Mechanical aspects that I can graft into my rewrite. I've been trying to incorporate as much of the existing mechanics as I can, but just by the numbers, I can already tell there'll be more work to do- if it's not divisible by three, they didn't bother to balance Renown types, which means more time with a rivet gun and wrench for me 🙃

Ahem. holy shit. who formated this. this is COMICALLY bad. A merit's description is split by not one, but TWO splash pages, one of which is lore writing in a thin font that's rendered barely legible by the scuffed background, and one that's a sidebar so long IT TAKES UP THE WHOLE PAGE

and at the end of it the merit isn't even worth pulling out. also uh. these patrons are. a choice. They are completely antithetical to the design philosophy of previous patrons, and the case of the Rite of Patronage, actually break some mechanics. Maybe they're made differently because they're for packs, but frankly they look like a scattershot of mechanics that renders each one seem more like a loresheet merit than a patron.

Okay. onto Talismans. It opens with some guidance for making Talismans, which while sorely needed in W5, I did it better by providing ACTUAL MECHANICS

Also they folded Talisman crafting into the Rite of Binding which like... ig. but it still should be a separate effort that requires additional training beyond just basic theurgy. (I find the Rite of Forging later, dw)

Death Brooch seems... okay. it's very, very narrow, and for a purely cosmetic effect I'd never invest two dots. I can work with it.

Electric Camouflage is pretty cool! it just says "takes Aggravated damage" instead of, yknow, giving you a number, but I can fix that. That said, a three dot talen for a one day effect with a major downside? That's steep, but I can fix it.

Grand Klaive seems incredibly lame for something that's supposed to be a legendary weapon of the Garou. It's just a slightly stronger klaive with a two dot upcharge and some nebulous statements about "additional effects." Pass.

Shadow Mirror is just Aurashades with extra flavor text. pass.

Spider Boxes are excellent, and well costed. The only adjustment I'd make is have a three dot version that gives each pack member a box instead of just the two.

Spirit Prisons are... not well written. Just use the Rites of Summoning and Binding. pass.

Umbral Dust is interesting. I like the idea, but I think I'd implement it a bit differently.

Wolf Musk is incredibly narrow. I can kinda see it but like. idk. this does not spark joy. pass.

Onto Native Gifts!

An Exchange with Luna is a wordy and less interesting version of a Gift I already wrote. It presents an ability far too powerful for its level, which it then balances with a downside so steep that it makes it not good. pass.

Resist Toxin is a classic but... eh. It's very narrow as written. I can work with it, I think.

Bestial Regression is.... weird. I'll pass, I think.

Gnaw is neat. I can work with it.

Ragabash Gifts!

Umbral Pocket is great! I like it a lot.

Jump Scare is a very steep cost for a momentary effect that the target can just choose to ignore. pass.

Theurge Gifts!

Entreat is a worse and less flavorful version of Taking the Skull and Bane-Eater. I like my designs a lot better.

Summon Implement is interesting. Relies on knowing a specific rite, but very, very cool.

Bolt Hole is a neat idea, but I've already expressed it better with the Den Realms Loresheet, and its utility is neatly handled by Blissful Ignorance. Pass, but with a tip of my hat in respect.

Ghost Walk- Oh I like this one. It's description needs some revision for clarity and flow, but the concept is excellent. I know just where to put this

Philodox Gif-- wait, did they just... forget to add Renown to that one? oh my god.

So uh. Indomitable Spirit. Is a Glory Gift. and does not use Glory at all. anyway I already wrote Resist Pain so this is irrelevant.

I'm gonna stop going through each one individually bc some of these are not worth commenting.

I love Lullaby. Fantastic combat Gift for a Galliard.

Tug the Leash is poorly named but interesting. I think I can work with it.

I like the Rites of the Broken Wolf and Capricious Sky.

My version is better. Also it has no spelling mistakes.

Rite of Gaia's Bravery is cool. I like it.

OKAY ADVANTAGES AND FLAWS

Oooooo Tactile Learner is really cool. Reminds me of the way improvement works in Call of Cthulhu. A very neat flaw.

The Shapeshifting Advantages are... interesting. I'll need to come back to those for revision, but I think they have potential.

Practiced Rite is interesting, but I'd make it one dot.

Wild Heritage is an interesting idea, but ultimately not something I will use. It strikes me as something that could bloat into dozens of merits.

The last thing I'll do today is Loresheets.

The First Fortress seems like We have the Summer Country at home.

The moonlit path is neat, but very broad for a loresheet- these seem more like mythic merits.

Possessed Flesh is something I'd like to revisit, it's an interesting concept, but very narrow for a loresheet.

...oh. there are only 3 loresheets. I... kinda expected more.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

This is a decent effort on behalf of Paradox/WW to expand W5 and better codify the Umbra, but it falls fall short of succeeding. Mechanically, it offers little to actually fix W5's issues. Perhaps what I'm looking for is hidden elsewhere in the book- if so, I'll find it on a later date.

Okay, so I got thinking about the freshman polycule, which is a very fun dynamic to me, but I also don’t think that all of them would be dating, mainly due to like. My headcanoned sexualities for all of them, but yeah

I’ll be honest, I am not 100% in love with the idea of Jack being Omni, but idk what flavor of fruit he is so I just chose that for him. I also stole Uranic Sebek from my lovely mutual @lowcallyfruity so yeah. I would put in an actual chibi for Yuu since I’m using my own version of Yuu for this, but I haven’t made one of those so shrimp icon it is (wait should I add in the canon Yuu’s too? I might)

Also unpopular opinion but I don’t like romantic ADeuce. I understand to some (many) they bicker like an old married couple, but to me they bicker like brothers. And seeing the ship absolutely everywhere just makes my distaste for it grow. Sorry ig. I did debate on making Yuu’s relationship with ADeuce familiar too, but decided against it. In my mind Epel and Ortho’s relationship dances around the qpr and familial line depending on what AU I’m in and stuff, but since this is the polycule AU it’s a qpr. Fun fact I actually have an AU where Ortho and Sebek consider themselves cousins so that’s just extra fun I think

In AUs where Grim is human I usually give them a more cousin-ly relationship, where Yuu lives with her family and Grim lives with his three uncles (the ghosts) but like. Idk, they’re family.

One more extra because I’m me I added in OG! Ortho into the mix as well for funsies (ft. An old asf chibi I made of him lol)

Holidays, ceremonies, birthdays, anniversaries, special days, and so on were never of much importance to Dottore if he was being honest, being raised how he was. They were mostly a waste of time. Even after he met you, they were never a subject of much attention. That's not to say he doesn't care at all, however. Well, he only cares about it if it's related to you because you're the only one he cares about, and it'd be a hindrance to his work if you were sad or upset (lies, of course.)

In the Akademiya, Dottore had never ever made a birthday gift for someone else, but you were the one who changed that of course. The scholar would have never guessed he'd ever do something like this but... you've changed him, even though he loathed to admit it. He tries to think of it as simply 'repaying' you for the gift you gave him on his birthday, in order to convince himself that he's not just being nice. You would let him think what he wants, but you're really happy that he took the time to get you something, hand-make it no less. Him taking time off from his experiments for you? Consider yourself loved.

(It reminds me of my HC that Dottore created an upgraded version of the instrument used for Radiant Spincrystals for you :3)

When you woke up after so many centuries, you're just happy to be able to get through another birthday. Just being with all the segments on your special day, and getting something sweet was more than enough. Of course, once your new friends found out, obviously that was no good for them! Too bad, it doesn't matter what you or Dottore think, they will make sure you enjoy yourself ten times more on this day!

You're hesitant on bothering Dottore but Columbina and Pantalone have zero problem dragging him out. He's grumpy and annoyed at first but, when he sees how happy you are, well, he could afford to sacrifice a few hours for that. All in all, you may only have a few people around, but they love you more than you know.

throughout nats whole life she’s always seemed to battle with a lack of control. her financial situation growing up, her relationship with her parents, the crash, people’s turn to the wilderness, her addiction etc. topping during sex seems like it would be an opportunity to take that control and create an environment that is stable and comfortable for both her and her partner. (thinking about it more - i wonder if this is part of the reason behind the sex addiction she speaks about in the pilot?)

meanwhile lottie is constantly fighting an internal battle with her mind and working hard to ensure things are the best for her team (even when it’s beyond what they actually need). i feel like bottoming would allow her to somewhat turn her brain off and just feel looked after for once. also!! not to stereotype but in s1 she was 5'10 doing absolutely no manual labour😭 she’s a princess!!!! let her be treat like one!!!

though i do understand where top!lottie comes from, especially with adult lottie’s almost domineering personality? however even then it feels like more of a front and reaffirms that she needs a space to be the most raw and honest version of herself

yeah, i love the way you put this!! i'm not here to diss anyone's hc's because they all come from somewhere and have a kernel of truth. just for me and my interpretation of the characters, which sounds very similar to yours, this dynamic is richer to me. i think it reflects back the stuff they're dealing with in the show in cool ways!

and even then, as you say, with adult tl lottie, i feel like we're glimpsing a lottie that is definitely trying to actualize a version of herself, but i don't know if that version is super lived in as much as it's a cope or method of survival (i wrote a whole dissertation on it a week ago and am still reeling sorry 😭). throughout the season, we see the way she's absolutely exhausted and floundering under the weight of trying to control her surroundings. she's trying to maneuver people and keep a grip on her own mind, and i think it's wearying for her?? she's going through the motions and trying to convince herself this is the right thing.

and yeah, we see the adult timeline kind of tease apart the role that she's adopted and we see her come to a place that's much more raw and vulnerable by the end. i don't know that it's necessarily at odds with how she's moved toward a quiet authority once again in the teen timeline in S3 but it's absolutely on the brink (like literally breathless and UNWELL in the finale). i still think the S2 commune is a very tortured place for her? she needs to collapse but what she collapses into is the rub, and the delusions are not a safe place to do that.

and like not to be a fucking weirdo, but i like thinking about smut and positionality within that as catharsis and idk man. i really vibe with lottienat drawing their power (ig???) from a dynamic that gives nat more control (i mean god after everything in S3, like please let her have some!!) and gives lottie a solid steady place to surrender. it's romantic to me!

this phone call had lasted way longer than you had intended, but that seemed to be a common theme when it came to your good friend kyungmin. he was never one to talk too much, except for when it came to you. he could talk for hours, even on autopilot.

“kyungmin, I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t die any time soon,” today’s topic… was a hectic one.

“y/n, y/n I’m terribly sorry but to be fair it’s this assignment’s fault,” kyungmin was losing his mind! but what else was new?

“I’m sure it’s not that bad,” defusing your friend was never your strong suit, with his bold and stubborn personality and all.

“not that bad…” oh, here it comes. “why don’t you try taking econ then, see how you like it!”

“absolutely not,” you shut him down quickly.

“okay then! so the least you can do is try to ease my pain,” and here comes the part where he throws in a request from you.

“good god, why did I befriend you?” you kid, a common theme between the two of you.

“to be honest y/n, I don’t wanna hear it,” you smile on the other end, because truth be told you did love his little attitude.

“yeah yeah, where are you at so I can make sure you don’t die early?” and you also did love him, so of course you’d give in to his requests.

“our usual spot of course,” ah yes, the campus quad, under the tree you both agreed looked like a bizarre version of the pokémon mew. “withering away… can’t hold out much longer…”

“you’re so dramatic, I’ll be there in a bit,” you smile to yourself once more.

“bring… snacks…” and then you roll your eyes at yet again another request.

“we’ll see. bye.”

finally managing to make it to the quad after about five minutes (which according to kyungmin time was an eternity), you finally spot your friend at the very spot he stated he was. he sat crisscrossed with his chin rested on one of his hands, textbooks sprawled on the grass. you speed walk towards him, careful not to make too much noise.

“hi, kyungmin,” you greet him, snaking your arms around his shoulders to hug him from behind. you feel a small jolt from his long frame, before he instantly relaxes upon realizing it’s you.

“y/n, what a relief,” he sighs while leaning his back into you, soon shifting to turn around and wrap his arms around your torso.

“I see you’re that excited to see me,” you say, taken aback by his embrace but still having your arms around him nonetheless.

“thrilled actually,” his voice is muffled as he speaks into your chest. “so if you don’t mind, I’m gonna stay like this for a bit.”

“if you insist,” you respond, and for a bit he does because it’s probably a solid minute before kyungmin finally lets you go.

“okay, okay. I’ve recovered,” he plants a small smile, eyes half open due to his drowsiness.

“so I’m the antidote to your studying sickness?” you tease as you always do.

“I thought that was obvious,” he says with a pout, enlarging his eyes.

“you’re ridiculous,” you laugh, because truly he is.

“ridiculous this, ridiculous that,”he rolls his eyes. “what’s really ridiculous is this godforsaken deadline.”

“okay, poor sap,” you smack a hand into his shoulder, then sliding yourself to sit opposite of kyungmin and his mess of textbooks. “just show me what you’re dealing with and I’ll try my hardest.”

“my hero!”

“I see you’re in your zone, kyungmin,” you’ve been observing your friend for the last few minutes as he’s been scribbling left and right, never looking up.

“huh?” he darts up to you the minute he hears your voice, the first he’s heard of it since a while. “oh, guess so.”

“question,” you probe him.

“hm?” he asks, tilting his head the slightest bit.

“have you ever considered cutting your hair?” you tread cautiously, because you don’t actually know what thoughts your friend has for his hair.

“hmmmm…” he looks away in thought, deeply considering your question.

“not that you need to!” you backtrack instantly, afraid you’d give him the wrong idea. “I like the length, but does it ever bother you like, especially because it’s warmer out now?”

“hm, a little I guess,” he admits, tugging at the ends of his shoulder length hair. “and I try to tie it up every now and then, but to be honest…”

“what?” you’re intrigued by his next words, him dragging them out.

“I don’t really…” he still hesitates, before he’s finally admitting it. “know how to use a hair tie.”

“you grew your hair and you don’t know how to work a teeny elastic…” you can’t believe what you’re hearing.

“I don’t need you shaming me!” he’s locks down into defense mode quickly.

“alright, alright,” you backpedal, deciding not to tease him today. “but at least let me help you.”

“yay,” he says straight faced. perhaps admitting he’s bad at something aside from his econ class brings him shame.

“give me the hair tie,” you demand, hand outstretched doing grabby motions.

“it’s on my arm,” he says, extending his right arm out to you. somehow, you didn’t even notice he had something attached to it.

“okay. one day I’ll probably use hyunwoo or yejun’s head as an example to actually show you how to use it, but for now I’ll just do it for you,” you say, dragging your friends into it as you remove the tie from his arm.

“y/n… you’re my lifesaver. what would I do without you?” he says with a pouty expression, you swear you see his eyes start to glaze over.

“I thought we’d already established you’d be dead,” you reply, dragging yourself to be positioned directly behind him.

“we did, didn’t we?” he nods.

“dork,” you can’t help but chuckle a little. but back to the task at hand. “do you want it in like, a low pony or half up?”

“I think half up is fine,” he answers surely.

“your wish is my command,” you rub your hands together, as if you’re a mosquito.

“okay, genie,” now he’s the one laughing.

you start grabbing pieces of kyungmin’s hair, smoothing out the top and making sure you’ve grabbed enough before you finally tie it all together with the band.

“alright done, now let’s see…” you shift back to where you were before right in front of him now, examining your hard work.

“is it fine?” he asks, eager to see the result of your hard work.

“ah, hold still,” you grab the right side of his face, tilting it so it’s angled more downwards. “I grabbed too much of your bangs…”

“oh,” kyungmin’s breathing stops as you pull away at his bangs, grabbing the few you accidentally tied up.

“okay!” you let go of his face and examine your work once more. “perfect as always, suh kyungmin.”

“ah… thank you,” he says, feeling the tiny pony tail you tied up. he attempts to hide the blush he didn’t even realize was growing on his face.

“of course!” you examine him fully, looking at every detail of his hair and face. but clearly more his features, and not the obvious cherry he turned into. “it suits you too, your bangs frame your face so nicely but you can hardly tell when your hair’s just down.”

“maybe I really do need to learn how to use a hair tie then,” he says in a chuckle, looking away from you now.

“you definitely do,” you laugh back.

“now uh…” he starts, but it seems he’s hesitating as he looks back up to you. “before we continue my suffering I mean studying, I have a question.”

“shoot,” you respond eagerly.

“…did you bring the snacks?”

Obviously Naruto and Sasuke should've figured their shit out. Both internally and externally and then say; take it or leave it' to the entire village and system. You either going to get two gay-men leading the village and a new system because their bond was the entire answer against war or nothing at all and then just... die ig while Naruto sleeps his years away and Sasuke is stuck in a damn tree 🤷🏻‍♀️

Naruto and Gaara although it probably won't last long. Naruto'd probably settle for some black-haired girl and make her cut her hair so it reminds him of Sasuke if he squints really hard and doesn't think about it and covers his ears, oh wait-

Charasuke and Dark Naruto, fem version. Menma and Zetsu. Since non of it is Canon anyway, Sasuke and his pet lizard from the filler story. They seemed to have an 'okay' connection, yeah? Well, ShikaTema is fine, it's understandable and predicted. I don't even know who Kiba, Shino, Lee or Choji are with lmao. I can look it up, but... I really don't even remember :') I think one of them is with the Kumo girl, right? Sai and Kumo girl would've been better though. They can argue about loyalty and stuff. Wouldn't she kinda think it was hot how he stopped her fist from plunging into Naruto's 'refusing to talk about Sasuke's face?' That's the extend of their development, but it's 'Boruto', the bar is low here. Or.. if we ignore the homophobia for a second, Sai and Gaara. I mean whatever. Size matters obviously to Sai and Gaara had huge bde before his questionable haircut (no I don't think him becoming Kazekage made him weak) and I also don't think Gaara's lack of expressive emotion currently would be too overwhelming for someone that doesn't understand them much. Not a lot of energy in that relationship though but Gaara is very beautiful to draw let's be honest but the lack of eyebrow does make it challenging. Or Sai and Deidara. A bit difficult because one isn't there, but still, just throwing it out there. Or even Kankuro would be good. Gosh, Sai has so many options... and then he ended up with someone he thought was ugly ;-; (Ino is very beautiful though so he's wrong, but still.) Idk, I think Kiba should've married a cat-girl or the blonde one from Kumo. Lee should be with someone that appreciates effort especially now that his effort is proven absolutely worthless -.- and is seen as a loser again which destroyed the poor guy. Well, I wouldn't have minded Tenten, but... GaaLee 👌👀? Aren't they both single fathers? Or? Idk. Maybe Sai Gaara and Lee together, why not. Throw the Shi guy from Kumo in there also, he kinda looks like blonde Sai. Even Naruto thought he was handsome as he used him for inspiration for his sexy reversed harem Jutsu.  Actually, Tenten and Kotetsu would've been a good surprise. It makes no sense Canon-wise and I don't think it even works age-wise, but I approve otherwise and they're both weaponized. I rhyme and reason. Ino and Suigetsu. Okay, hear me out. He can water all her plants. That's all, that's it. Sakura and Kankuro? I mean, by 'Boruto's low standards, they could've made it work and they'd even have history. And fine, even Sasori could've been interesting a little. Or that girl from the Sound from the beginning. Or the guy. Or Kimimaro. Or Kabuto. We're not too difficult here, pick one, but I guess some are dead though. Everyone but Sasuke ffs. Obviously Neji should've lived. Well I'm okay with Tenten or even Lee, but it doesn't make too much sense to me. Actually, let's ship him with Haku for no other reason than them looking good together. Or Neji and Juugo, maybe Juugo'd be able to set the bird free iykwim. I'd say Hinata and her beloved 'Oro-chan'. (Yes she called him that in some novel.) Both creepy as hell. Except one of them is somewhat likable and it ain't Hinata. But age-wise that doesn't work. Or, maybe someone can make her a Mecha Naruto, that's a bit more appropriate. Not much, but still. I'm sure she has the money and I don't think she really minds because she knows Naruto as much as she'd know a robot version of him. I see no difference there. OR, Kankuro's puppet. That way she can always walk next to the one she 'loves' as it follows her anyway with some basic puppet training and have the sentimental wood around for comfort when she reminisces about the time she thought Naruto wasn't gay. No need to be shy either as it doesn't say much. Then Naruto can visit tree-Sasuke in peace without a creepy face glancing up at him from behind it only to be ignored anyway. 

Or maybe a lousy Daimyo because we can't have any less than a Hero or royalty for the princess, of course. CHOJI ACTUALLY should've married the daughter from the ramen stand. Idk her age though.. Or the owner of the BBQ restaurant? If he didn't already. Or, it would've been good if there was a younger version of Tsunade, I think they'd get along. Akamaru and one of Kakashi's dogs- sorry, Ninken. I think Pakkun is too old maybe. Idk what he's into. Maybe Punpun? Am I missing anyone? Oh lmao, Shino ;-; He would've been good with Fu, Jinchuriki of the 7-tails, the flying bug thing. Guess that's not possible either, but we can't have them single and focussing on the world either so... we gotta create imaginary filler babies somehow. Karin with that other guy who emphasized with her during her confession-thing. I mean, what other reason do you need. That's true love right there.  Kakashi and Shizune? Kakashi and Iruka? Kakashi and Gai? Kakashi and Genma? Kakashi and Obit- oh no. Kakashi and secret-ANBU waifu? Kakashi and actress of the movie adaptation of his ero-novel? Kakashi living his best aro life?

I mean, we could always create a card game if you will and match whatever comes up first. There'd be no difference really.
