I ask you humbly to enter my life, my practice, and allow me to seek your guidance; to bask in your energy; to find comfort in your presence; and to speak well of your name. Archangel Cassiel; Please teach me discipline, and to be kind to myself. Show me the relief in feeling my emotions, and that not all things lost are forgotten. Protect me in my astral travels, Help me understand all consequences. Assure me that time will pass when needed, and time will stay when wanted - that nothing is permanent, but everything is remembered. The funniest thing about House MD to me is that all the shippers are right. House and Wilson really are just Like That. I'm so used to big ships being completely noncanon or distant subtext at best. Not Hilson. They have a fake dating episode. In the episode where House mocks a gay man for being in denial, the multi-episode-long subplot is about him trying to break up Wilson's relationship because he's jealous and wants him to himself. Wilson, his best friend and person whom he lives with. This show is insane.

the funeral (a grotesque display of two queens’ grief, forced on them against their will) being interjected by images of aegon beating blood into a bloody ruin says something about how women’s grief is exploited and paraded around as a virtue while male grief is only allowed to exist in conjunction with violence.

female sorrow is expected to be public, dignified, and even noble, it serves as a symbol of quiet strength and resilience. otto uses it as a tool to gain sympathy for their cause. notice how he forced alicent and helaena into it, while he allowed aegon not to participate. wouldn‘t the king being at the funeral send a powerful message? yes, it would. but otto looks at aegon with contempt, the other councilmen and alicent do not know what to do with his tears. the realm cannot be allowed to see the king grieve. not like this.

male grief is denied its own space and validity unless it manifests in aggressive or destructive acts. aegon realizes this to some degree too— he lashes out publicly by killing the rat catchers. he shows his grief by being violent, by spilling blood.

the toxicity of it all is very effectively shown at the end when aegon is crying by himself. did he retreat there to be alone and finally let it all out? his mother is either letting him have that moment alone or she’s deeply uncomfortable with it and chooses to leave. no matter what motivated alicent in acting the way she did— the moment still reveals how male vulnerability is something people fear. it shows that even the most human expressions of pain are not acceptable for some.

Hopper is sitting in a booth at the diner.

He watching his new recruit talk on the pay phone outside through the window, contemplating. He’s not too sure about this Callahan kid.

He’s not sure if he’s just getting older or if it’s because he has a daughter now, but Christ. Callahan still had braces last year and they just handed him a gun. The kid is nineteen.

Hopper must have been too deep in his musing because he doesn’t notice Steve slide into the booth across from him until Steve is halfway through telling him that they make him sit at the bar when the diner is busy. He doesn’t like that because people touch his hair when they go past so, “Can I sit with you, please?”

He shoves Callahan’s half-finished hash browns to the side and says, “Don’t worry, I’ll be really quiet. You’ll forget that I’m here. Mama says I’m really good at that.”

Yeah. Somehow Hopper doesn’t think he’ll be forgetting much of anything. Especially after Patty Martin, the only waitress in the building today, comes over to top of Hopper’s coffee. She gives Steve the sweetest smile Hop has ever seen on her face and asks, “Pancakes again, kiddo?”

“No thanks,” Steve says, pulling some crumbled up dollars and a handful of coins from his pocket. He slides it towards her and says with a gap-toothed smile, “One big sundae with two bananas, please.”

She looks at the money, “That’s a bit more than what you got here, kid.”

“Not of it’s your birthday.”

This is a game, Hopper realizes when Patty asks, “Is it your birthday? You had a birthday last year.”

“I have a birthday every year!” Steve giggles, and Hopper is slightly amused until Patty leaves and Steve informs him, “Mama and me come here every year on my birthday and get a big sundae. We share it. It’s tradition. I’m seven.”

Hopper scans the room and finds it lacking, “Where is your mom?”

Steve pauses. He can see the gears turning in the kid’s head. He knows that Steve must’ve heard his dad say that you don’t lie to the police but you don’t got to tell them the truth because he predictably gives a non-answer, “She’s not here.”

Descriptive, Hopper thinks but he also thinks this whole scenario is so damn sad. Instead of an interrogating, he asks, “Hey, kid. How about after you finish your ice cream, I take you for a drive in the truck. You can turn the siren on.”

Steve gives him a look like he not only thinks that suggestion is stupid but that Hopper is too. He says gently, like he’s letting Hopper down easy, “No thanks.”

“I’m going to Tommy’s later,” Steve adds. “His mama is making me a cake.”

thinking rockstar eddie and normal guy/stay at home dad steve. their kid has career day at school and steddie think they’re gonna choose eddie for his presentation bc duh but he brings in steve instead. he’s fascinated with all the work steve does around the house plus he makes my lunch for school and cooks dinner EVERY NIGHT. just their kid being absolutely amazed and grateful with everything steve does. of course they also care about eddie’s job and his music etc and loves them both equally but thinks steve’s job is way cooler

Hello hello! My name is Alec or Kimon, feel free to call me either, [he / him], I am a hellenic poltheist and have been for just over three years now.

My practice is a little all over the place, but it brings me comfort and joy. I have been (on and off) practicing witchcraft for five years now, though it's not as prevelent in my practice as it used to be, I would still consider myself a witch. Aside from hellenic polytheism and witchcraft, I have recently (within the past 6 months) gotten into both demonaltary and angel work / worship, these are still new to me though and currently only consists of King Paimon and Archangel Cassiel. Baby steps.

all those posts that are like 'wilson is just as off his fucking rocker as house' are RIGHT and they need to say it LOUDER because why was wilson's solution to pull house out of a suspected grief spiral to pretend to play a mind game while pretending to secretly playing a different mind game, which in turn was another mind game designed to engage and distract his boybestfriend by giving him a little puzzle . and then it WORKED . thats not a normal thing to do
