“Man Is Located Who Saw Missing Papers,” North Bay Nugget. April 23, 1932. Page 1. ---- Royal Commission on Hydro is Adjourned For Period of Two Weeks ---- SAW PAPERS IN NEW YORK ---- Attempt Made by newspapers to Get Photostat Copies of Fyle --- Toronto, April 23 — (By Canadian Press)— The Toronto Globe today aid its staff correspondent at London, Ont., had located Kenneth McLeod, mentioned yesterday in the Royal Commission enquiry of Hydro, as one who knew the whereabouts of the "missing" John Aird Jr. fyle before it reappeared at the hearing Thursday.
The newspaper quoted McLeod as saying he had seen the fyle in Buffalo and that he had been asked if any offers of money had been made for it. He declined to say who had possession of the fyle when he saw it last but named a lawyer "Stein" as one who was said to have held it in New York. He said he had also seen it in Toronto.
Commission Adjourns Toronto, April 23 - (By Canadian Tress) -The Royal Commission investigating certain transactions of the Ontario Hydro Power Commission and the payment of $425,000 lo John Aird Jr. by the Beauharnois Power Corporation, has concluded its labors for two weeks. An adjournment was made last night until May 9, owing to pressure of business on Supreme Court Judges at present. Five of them are ill, and Mr Justice J. K. Orde, Commissioner, declared he was unable to continue until that date.
Meanwhile, counsel concerned are busy digesting a mass of documentary and oral evidence surrounding the various phases of the investigation. The $125,000 payment, the payment of $50,000 to Mr. Aird by the Hydro for his services in connection with Madawaska and the purchase of the Dominion Power and Transmission Company of Hamilton for $22,000,000 by Hydro are being investigated.
At yesterday’s long session, G. Howard Ferguson, former premier of Ontario, and Canadian High Commissioner to London, concluded his evidence on the stand with a reiterated denial that any of the $125,000 had reached the coffers of the Conservative party and refused to even hazard a guess as to the Identity of the person who would have collected.

if i was a gothamite i would simply find batman by looking for the GIANT power sink
nevermind post cancelled did yall know that the batcave has a hydroelectric plant inside and also in the 40s it was a fission reactor?
is the batcave on a separate system than the manor? there's no way that system was designed by a licensed engineer, bruce probably did it himself smh, add yet another crime to his rap sheet

Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #7
Feb 23-March 1 2024
The White House announced $1.7 Billion in new commitments from local governments, health care systems, charities, business and non-profits as part of the White House Challenge to End Hunger and Build Healthy Communities. The Challenge was launched with 8 billion dollars in 2022 with the goal of ending hunger in America by 2030. The Challenge also seeks to drastically reduce diet-related diseases (like type 2 diabetes). As part of the new commitments 16 city pledged to make plans to end hunger by 2030, the largest insurance company in North Carolina made nutrition coaching and a healthy food delivery program a standard benefit for members, and since the challenge launched the USDA's Summer EBT program has allowed 37 states to feed children over the summer, its expected 21 million low income kids will use the program this summer.
The US House passed a bill on Nuclear energy representing the first update in US nuclear energy policy in decades, it expands the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and reduces reducing licensing fees. Nuclear power represents America's single largest source of clean energy, with almost half of carbon-free electricity coming from it. This bill will boost the industry and make it easier to build new plants
Vice President Harris announced key changes to the Child Care & Development Block Grant (CCDBG) program. The CCDBG supports the families of a million American children every month to help afford child care. The new changes include capping the co-pay families pay to no more than 7% of their income. Studies show that high income families pay 6-8% of their income in childcare while low income families pay 31%. The cap will reduce or eliminate fees for 100,000 families saving them an average of over $200 a month. The changes also strength payments to childcare providers insuring prompt payment.
The House passed a bill making changes to the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program. The 8(a) is an intensive 9 year program that offers wide ranging training and support to small business owners who are socially and economically disadvantaged, predominantly native owned businesses. Under the current structure once a business reaches over 6.8 million in assets they're kicked off the program, even though the SBA counts anything under $10 million as a small business, many companies try to limit growth to stay on the program. The House also passed a bill to create an Office of Native American Affairs at the SBA, in order to support Native-owned small businesses.
The White House and HUD announced steps to boost the housing supply and lower costs plans include making permanent the Federal Financing Bank Risk Sharing program, the program has created 12,000 affordable housing units since 2021 with $2 billion and plans 38,000 additional units over ten years. As well as support for HUD's HOME program which has spent $4.35 billion since 2021 to build affordable rental homes and make home ownership a reality for Americans. For the first time an administration is making funds available specifically for investments in manufactured housing, $225 million. 20 million Americans live in manufactured housing, the largest form of unsubsidized affordable housing in the country, particularly the rural poor and people in tribal communities.
The Department of Energy announced $336 million in investments in rural and remote communities to lower energy costs and improve reliability. The projects represent communities in 20 states and across 30 Native tribes. 21% of Navajo Nation homes and 35% of Hopi Indian Tribe homes remain unelectrified, one of the projects hopes to bring that number to 0. Another project supports replacing a hydroelectric dam in Alaska replacing all the Chignik Bay Tribal Council's diesel power with clear hydro power. The DoE also announced $18 million for Transformative Energy projects lead by tribal or local governments and $25 million for Tribal clean energy projects, this comes on top of $75 million in Tribal clean energy projects in 2023
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg put forward new rules to ensure airline passengers who use wheelchairs can travel safely and with dignity. Under the planned rules mishandling a wheelchair would be a violation of the ACAA, airlines would be required to immediately notify the passenger of their rights. Airlines would be required to repair or replace the wheelchair at the preferred vendor of the passenger's choice as well as provide a loaner wheelchair that fits the passenger's needs/requirements
The EPA launched a $3 Billion dollar program to help ports become zero-emission. This investment in green tech and zero-emission will help important transportation hubs fight climate change and replace some of the largest concentrations of diesel powered heavy equipment in America.
the EPA announced $1 Billion dollars to help clean up toxic Superfund sites. This is the last of $3.5 billion the Biden administration has invested in cleaning up toxic waste sites known as Superfund sites. This investment will help finish clean up at 85 sites across the country as well as start clean up at 25 new sites. Many Superfund sites are contained and then left not cleaned for years even decades. Thanks to the Biden-Harris team's investment the EPA has been able to do more clean up of Superfund sites in the last 2 years than the 5 years before it. More than 25% of America's black and hispanic population live with-in 5 miles of a Superfund site.
Bonus: Sweden cleared the final major barrier to become NATO's 32nd member. The Swedish Foreign Minster is expected to fly to Washington to deposit the articles of accession at the US State Department. NATO membership for Sweden and its neighbor Finland (joined last year) has been a major foreign policy goal of President Biden in the face of Russian aggressive against Ukraine. Former President Trump has repeatedly attacked NATO and declared he wants to leave the 75 year old Alliance, even going so far as to tell Russia to "do whatever the hell they want" with European NATO allies

"The amount of electricity generated by the UK’s gas and coal power plants fell by 20% last year, with consumption of fossil fuels at its lowest level since 1957.
Not since Harold Macmillan was the UK prime minister and the Beatles’ John Lennon and Paul McCartney met for the first time has the UK used less coal and gas.
The UK’s gas power plants last year generated 31% of the UK’s electricity, or 98 terawatt hours (TWh), according to a report by the industry journal Carbon Brief, while the UK’s last remaining coal plant produced enough electricity to meet just 1% of the UK’s power demand or 4TWh.
Fossil fuels were squeezed out of the electricity system by a surge in renewable energy generation combined with higher electricity imports from France and Norway and a long-term trend of falling demand.
Higher power imports last year were driven by an increase in nuclear power from France and hydropower from Norway in 2023. This marked a reversal from 2022 when a string of nuclear outages in France helped make the UK a net exporter of electricity for the first time.
Carbon Brief found that gas and coal power plants made up just over a third of the UK’s electricity supplies in 2023, while renewable energy provided the single largest source of power to the grid at a record 42%.
It was the third year this decade that renewable energy sources, including wind, solar, hydro and biomass power, outperformed fossil fuels [in the UK], according to the analysis. Renewables and Britain’s nuclear reactors, which generated 13% of electricity supplies last year, helped low-carbon electricity make up 55% of the UK’s electricity in 2023.
[Note: "Third year this decade" refers to the UK specifically, not global; there are several countries that already run on 100% renewable energy, and more above 90% renewable. Also, though, there have only been four years this decade so far! So three out of four is pretty good!]
Tumblr media
Dan McGrail, the chief executive of RenewableUK, said the data shows “the central role that wind, solar and other clean power sources are consistently playing in Britain’s energy transition”.
“We’re working closely with the government to accelerate the pace at which we build new projects and new supply chains in the face of intense global competition, as everyone is trying to replicate our success,” McGrail said.
Electricity from fossil fuels was two-thirds lower in 2023 compared with its peak in 2008, according to Carbon Brief. It found that coal has dropped by 97% and gas by 43% in the last 15 years.
Coal power is expected to fall further in 2024 after the planned shutdown of Britain’s last remaining coal plant in September. The Ratcliffe on Soar coal plant, owned by the German utility Uniper, is scheduled to shut before next winter after generating power for over 55 years.
Renewable energy has increased sixfold since 2008 as the UK has constructed more wind and solar farms, and the large Drax coal plant has converted some of its generating units to burn biomass pellets.
Electricity demand has tumbled by 22% since its peak in 2005, according to the data, as part of a long-term trend driven by more energy efficient homes and appliances as well as a decline in the UK’s manufacturing sector.
Demand for electricity is expected to double as the UK aims to cut emissions to net zero by 2050 because the plan relies heavily on replacing fossil fuel transport and heating with electric alternatives.
In recent weeks [aka at the end of 2023], offshore wind developers have given the green light to another four large windfarms in UK waters, including the world’s largest offshore windfarm at Hornsea 3, which will be built off the North Yorkshire coast by Denmark’s Ørsted."

the idea of vision users kinda losing control over their element when experiencing strong emotions is something i live for
pyro users setting themselves/nearby flammable objects on fire or making nearby fires stronger
cryo users putting a layer of frost everywhere or freezing nearby liquids
electro users with that static thing where if they touch someone it gives both people an electric shock
dendro users making nearby plants grow/blossom or just having plants growing on them
anemo users having the wind swirling around them
not quite sure how it would work for hydro/geo users but probably something similar to making it rain/making the ground shake
just imagine flowers growing on kaveh in happiness when he finishes a project
or thoma getting flustered and just burning a broom hes holding
or mika nervously freezing the ground
or cyno sparking with electricity in panic at tighnari’s lightning injury only to realize that tighnari is now scared of him in that moment which in turn only makes the sparking worse
or collei sprouting sharp thorny vines all over herself when paimon tried to touch her that one time and the thorns are digging into her own body but she doesn’t notice at first because she’s still freaking out from the touch
or xiao being in so much pain from his karmic debt that nobody can even get near him because the gusts of wind surrounding him are too strong
or diluc setting himself ablaze during the whole thing with kaeya and then one day he gets fed up with kaeyas antics and he slightly loses control of his vision and his hands catch fire and then kaeya freaking out; not because of the fire itself, but because that the last time diluc set himself on fire like that was the night that kaeya almost died, and now kaeya is scared that thats going to happen again
i meant this to be a cute wholesome post about genshin characters being flustered how did we end up here-

During the time the Mike Harris Conservatives were in power from 1995 to 2003, a record amount of public wealth was transferred to the wealthy. Just what is public wealth? Public wealth is our education system, our healthcare system, our water system and was once our hydro-electric system. It is our provincial parks, forests, lakes, rivers and the green belt.it is also the collective total of all our tax dollars in the provincial treasury. There is much more to public wealth when you add in things like long term care, community centers, hockey and curling arenas. The sum total of our public wealth is quite massive and the wealthy want it.
Harris privatized Hwy 407 for a paltry sum. In a far worse deal Harris privatized the Bruce nuclear plant, where again the profits were privatized but the debt and risks remained public.
Harris cut taxes massively for the wealthy and their corporations. In order to pay for those tax cuts, Harris slashed healthcare spending to the point where Ontario lost more than 10,000 nurses. Education was slashed by the education funding formula which to this day is still shortchanging the education system causing a crisis there. [...]

since childe has a hydro vision and a electro delusion, he’s prime material for electric stimulation!! (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)
he’d sit you down in his lap after a long day, hands slowly peeling off every layer of clothing until your naked form sat between his legs. his own clothing would stay on as this was to be for you, no need to go rushing just yet!! with your tired and sweaty body pretty and pliant for him, he’d only barely add a hint of extra wetness around your breasts. focusing in on your nipples, he’d use the slightest of shocks to watch you jolt and listen to your gasps. with featherlight touches, he’d bring your nipples to full hardness before letting little shocks run down your tummy with his hands until his fingers met your pussy. one hand would spread your needy cunts lips while the other moved to rub gently at your clit. for a few minutes, childe would simply play with your sweet cunt. he’d savour the wet noises coming from it and the heavenly moans falling past your lips. with your head all fuzzy, you’d forgotten about the zaps he’d sent along your body previously until another landed on your cute little clit. so exhausted and needy, that was all it took for your back to arch and your pussy to gush. with the sweetest of whines and moans, you came all over his gloves as he merely cooed against your ear and planted soft kisses to your neck and cheek.
you did so well for him!! <3

Let's talk Energy Mix
Tumblr media
Let me talk about the energy mix for a moment - because I feel a lot of people are very unsure, how a renewable energy grid would work in practice.
So, let me get out my electrician gear and go very quickly through the different energy types that we would probably have within a Solarpunk world or something along the line. Or rather: What we might have in the future, if our governments actually fucking cared to go carbonfree.
Photovoltaic (aka Solar). Now, let me make one thing clear: Technically Photovoltaic and Solar are two different things. Photovoltaic uses certain materials that can build electricity when they interact with Photons, while Solar uses the sun's heat radiation. What most people think of as "Solarpower" is photovoltaic. This technology has made a lot of advances recently, making the panels so much more efficient than they were only a few years ago. By now photovoltaic roof tiles can actually provide enough energy for the house even during cloudy days and even further up north. Of course they cannot create enough energy during the night. While production is not 0, it is by far not enough.
Wind turbines. Currently wind turbines are making up a lot of the renewable energy mix in many countries, like my own (Germany). And for good reason. They are so darn efficient. Especially off-shore energy. While they are right now not useful for personal energy production (because turbines are fucking loud up close - only up close), they are really good at keeping the grid fed. Maybe just a bit too good.
Other forms of Wind Power. I really do not want to go too deeply into this topic. But there are currently also other forms of wind powered generators being researched. Including some that could be put onto houses. (If you want me to gover those more, just send me an ask.)
Hydro Power. Now Hydro Power, so water based power generation, has two big kinds of being used. One is by channeling the power of rivers through a generator - the other is as the currently simplest form of energy storage: If you have too much energy in your grid at any given time, pump water into a reservoir and if you need that power again, let it go through a generator. Please note though: Environmentally Hydro Power is definitely the kind of renewable power with the worst environmental impact.
Other forms of water based power generation: Currently we are experimenting a lot with getting power from the ocean. For example through tidal generators or wave generators. So far, though, these methods are only experiments, not fit for large scale production.
Geothermal Power. In a lot of areas with Geothermal activity we can also use the heat of the earth to create steam, which we then can use to power generators as well. This is especially handy in places like Iceland, that are geothermically very active, but also do not get a lot of sun half of the year and are not ideally suited for wind power.
One thing that should be noted is, that very probably we are still gonna need nuclear power as an emergency tool.
One thing that definitely needs to change, though, is how we build our energy grids. Currently we are relying a lot on macro grids, that is grids, where a few central power plants generate all the power for a large area. This does not work out well currently, based on the fact that a lot of renewables work best, if you have smaller, further distributed power plants.
This creates the need for micro grids, that are also better suited to just... Not create large scale blackouts, as the US experiences them semi-frequently.
Again, if you want me to talk more about that, I can totally do, just... send me a message.
But what you really do not need to be concerned about is the entire idea of "what do we do at night"? We have ways to deal with that. Even now. Let alone in 10 years. This area of science is currently really moving forward in long strides!

"On 28 September 1941, Sir Herbert Holt died. His death was announced on the loudspeaker at a baseball game at Delorimier Stadium in Montreal. An initial hush fell over the crowd – then a cheer. The reaction revealed Holt’s personal unpopularity in Montreal, especially as head of the local utility – Montreal Light, Heat & Power Consolidated. Even among colleagues Holt was considered something of “an old cuss,” though his personal secretary, Sévère Godin, claimed Holt’s steely image was a façade masking shyness and loneliness. Whatever the case, Holt’s unpopularity was rooted in a more generalized political and ideological crisis of the Canadian bourgeoisie. Earlier in the year, the Liberal Quebec premier Adélard Godbout had announced his government’s intention to expropriate the Beauharnois Company from the Holt power interests. H.J. Symington, C. D. Howe’s power controller, reported that the move represented a huge blow to Holt and the “power barons,” since the financial structure of the interlocked power companies controlled by the Holt group was organized so that “the killing” in profitable returns would be made in Beauharnois common stock. The power barons fought back, but Holt’s death, writes Ted Regehr, “expedited nationalization on terms dictated by the provincial government.” In 1944 Godbout’s administration established a commission to acquire Montreal Power and all its subsidiaries, including Beauharnois." - Don Nerbas, Dominion of Capital: The Politics of Big Business and the Crisis of the Canadian Bourgeoisie, 1914-1947. University of Toronto Press, 2013. p. 242.

Dragon Alhaitham Cytham AU that my friend @durasposts helped inspired me to write hehe (it was their idea! I just wrote it as a fic :3)
~
There was a fire. Alhaitham managed to grab a single book from his study, the only one he knew that he had to protect, even if it cost a limb.
A dragon's treasure is a precious thing. Their hoard could be anything and for Alhaitham it was his books.
He wasn't sure how the fire started.
Books are perfect kindling so all it took was one flame.
With the book clutched to his chest, his tail flipped back and forth. He clutched his book tighter as someone tried to pull his arm away.
His wings were folded on his back and usually he would spread them to get the assailant out of his face, but...
He snapped back to reality to see Cyno pulling a yelling Kaveh away.
He shut up as soon as Cyno crouched down and watched Alhaitham slowly untense.
Carefully, he moved Alhaitham’s left arm before frowning. It was hardly unnoticeable, but that brought Alhaitham fully back.
He hissed in pain.
"Do we have a Hydro vision user nearby?" Cyno called and when no one answered, he tried again, "What about Cryo?"
There was a shuffling in the gathered crowd as Layla nervously ran forward. Soon enough Cyno had some melted ice that was slowly getting warmer. Once it was cool enough, he cleaned Alhaitham burned arm and singed wing.
Next was loose bandaging until they could get him to the bimarstan.
"Don't worry.* Cyno reassured, as Kaveh checked him over, "I'll be the one looking into this."
Alhaitham nodded and Kaveh grabbed his right hand. Together they walked towards the bimarstan.
~
Only when Alhaitham was done getting the burns cleaned and bandaged did Kaveh let his hand go.
Just to grab his face, smushing his cheeks and looking at him with tears in his eyes before pulling him into a tight hug.
Alhaitham was shocked and tense at first, but soon enough melted into the hug. He found his walls breaking as he sobbed into the other man's shoulder.
Kaveh ran his fingers through his hair and murmured softly to him. When he calmed down enough, he planted a single kiss on his forehead.
That's when Alhaitham noticed Cyno standing in the doorway.
He quickly said his goodbyes and left them alone.
Cyno cleared his throat and spoke first, "I know a dragon's hoard is important to them..."
He handed him a well loved book. A 'King of Invokations' book to be exact.
Running his hand over the paper back's tearing covering, he had a soft smile on his face, but...
"I can't possibly take this from you Cyno."
Cyno thought for a moment, "I'm letting you borrow it. Until you can get your hoard back."
Alhaitham nodded stiffly then looked back at the book.
"Thank you..."
~
It turned out that was simply only the beginning. Now, Cyno came almost every week to give him a new book.
An excuse on his tongue, the truth swallowed for the sake of sparing the reminder.
A "Saw this and thought of you" or a "Found this on my trip out to the desert".
Kaveh had drawn up and had started working on a new study. More fireproof he claimed.
A candle was found in the ashes or what was a candle.
Alhaitham could remember that Kaveh brought it home that day.
It was marketed at an electric candle, but whatever had been used as a power source had malfunctioned.
The scholar who made it apologized profusely as well as Kaveh. Alhaitham to the latter simply made the decision that for now on they will only be buying wax candles.
As he was thinking about this, his wings drooped as he frowned. He had been doing his required daily stretching. Carefully, mindful of the healing areas.
Someone behind him cleared their throat and Alhaitham glanced behind him.
Cyno.
He found himself smiling for some reason.
Said man held two books in his hands.
"Tighnari heard about what happened and offered these two books to give you."
Alhaitham took them carefully, looking at the titles. Both were about flora and fauna. One Sumeru specific, the other was a general one for every reigon.
"Send him my thanks for me."
Cyno nodded, "I will."
He spotted a bandage on Cyno's hand suddenly and a chill ran down his spine. His tail swished.
"What happened there?"
"Ah." Cyno seemed caught off guard, "I went up against... a pyro vision wielder recently."
Alhaitham eyes him suspiciously, but let it go with a nod.
~
Before he knew it, Kaveh had finished the new study and Alhaitham started filling the shelves with his new book hoard.
Of course, his most important book, one with a note from his Grandmother, goes on his new desk.
Except... he couldn't find it.
It was gone.
Cyno found him with all the new books pulled off their new shelves and him crying quietly in the corner, wings wrapped around himself.
He set the book he was holding on the desk and crouched down. Almost instantly Alhaitham opened his wings and upon seeing Cyno, he brought him in. He clung on to him like his life depended on it.
"What's wrong..?" He nervously asked, "No need to tail me though."
Alhaitham blinked and then gave Cyno a small smile. Just his presence made him feel better.
"My book..." he mumbled.
Cyno froze.
"I have something to show you."
Alhaitham wasn't sure he liked this.
"I won't let this dragon any longer." He attempted to lighten the mood, but Alhaitham’s tail just started swishing back in forth nervously.
He picked up the book he had brought.
It was his. The one his grandmother gifted him.
"I fireproofed it." Cyno explained, "It took some trial and error, but I am Spantamad graduate."
Alhaitham held it in his hands.
He gently placed it on his desk before kissing Cyno.
"Sorry... I just..." Alhaitham shrunk back, uncharacteristically nervous.
A blush was on both of their faces.
Cyno smiled, a familar smirk when he cane up with a pun, "Well, I can't tail a lie to you."
Alhaitham held his breath.
"I treasure you."
Alhaitham embraced him.
"Thank you." He spoke softly, "I love you."
In that moment, he realized that while he thought his hoard had been his treasure, it wasn't. He would trade anything and everything for Cyno.
But he didn't have to.
Alhaitham smiled to himself and together they put the books on the shelves.
And on his desk lay two books, both well loved.

Just thinking about this some more:
The men were scared every time we turned our electric lamp on them, and fell on their knees and prayed.
There are two possible interpretations here: one, that electric lamps were relatively unknown in Romania, so it's a scary new technology. Two, that there's something else scaring the men (per this post).
I suspect Bram Stoker's intention was for it to be ambiguous, and also that he had absolutely no idea of the level of electrification in Romania.
But I have checked how much option one actually holds up and... it doesn't.
The first electrical power plant was built in Bucharest in 1882 and used to run on gas. Two years later, the first hydro-power plant was built at Peleș, one year after the inauguration of the royal castle, to supply the king's residence with electricity.
(source)
Meanwhile in the UK:
In 1881, the first public electricity generator in Britain was installed in Godalming, Surrey. The next year they passed the Electric Light Act which was the first public measure dealing with electricity supply.
(source)
The reference books Stoker did use were riddled with inaccuracies so this may not even be his fault. But in contrast to the implication in the novel that our heroes are travelling into an older or more 'primitive' country, there wasn't much difference in access to modern technology between the UK and Romania in the 1890s.

Ive just been watching Avatar The Last Airbender clips lately and like-- lol what if in SAGAU you teach them to control their Vision powers similarly to how characters in the show bend their respective elements??
So like-- i imagine that Anemo, Pyro, and Electro Vision holders would have similar moves and spend a lot of time with each other since i do remember Uncle Iroh calling the Air and Fire elements very similar to each other. It reflects in their bending as well, it just differs in their approach to it. While both have similar bending styles, the Air benders are much more passive and defensive in their bending while Fire benders are much more aggressive and offensive-- you can really see it whenever Aang and Zuko fight. I put Electro in there as well since electricity in the Avatar world is a highly specialized and advanced fire bending skill. I imagine a lot of Vision holders in Inazuma would DEFINITELY try to figure out the lightning redirection skill out of fear of the Raiden Shogun LOLLLL
The water element is STILL OP AS FUCK with Hydro, Cryo and Dendro learning a whole lot from each other. Cryo is there because of obvious reasons aka ICE IS JUST HARD WATER GUYS WHY THE FUCK DID YOU MAKE IT A SEPARATE ELEMENT-- and Dendro is there because plant bending in ATLA (yes plant bending is a thing) is just finding the water in the plants to bend them. The theory is similar to metal bending and blood bending-- you find the bendable parts amidst the unbendable parts and you move those.
Geo is just Geo because... its GEO. ITS JUST ROCKS. DO I NEED TO SAY MORE.
I imagine that the Anemo guys, Venti especially, would very much enjoy their new found speed and agility with Venti just yoinking the concept of an Airbender Staff for himself or even inventing new ways to Windglide using the gliders already there and just innovating the already existing skill. Heizou would also really appreciate it, considering how he doesnt really like fighting and prefers incapacitating criminals as swiftly as possible in or out of a fight. The fuckery you could do as an Airbender man--
Like i said earlier, the Pyro and Electro Vision holders would really take a special interest in each other. I can imagine Thoma trying to find someone with an Electro Vision so he can try to learn how to deflect lightning. (Haha ARCHON QUEST GUILT--) and ohhhhh my gOD i can already see cOUNTLESS cocky Pyro and Electro Vision holders in Inazuma AND EVEN OUT OF INAZUMA just going "STRIKE ME DOWN RAIDEN, YOU DONT THE BALLS--" just because they learned how to redirect lightning AHAHAHA
Cryo and Hydro would hangout a lot and like-- honestly, Cryo might hangout a lot with Geo as well considering how cryo is just Ice but Solid. Its kinda similar to bending earth in that way. I still do think that Cryo and Hydro users would learn a lot from each other but Hydro learns more from Cryo and Cryo learns more from Geo. In the bending sense at least. So i imagine that the closest Cryo can get to Hydro is turning the ice into snow or slush and the closest that Hydro can get to Cryo is slush as well but much MUCH more watery. Like a half melted Big Gulp from 7 11. Honestly, i can kind of see Eula using this as an opportunity to both better her reputation AND to better care for the knights under her since waterbenders are the healers of the bending world. So, i can see her visiting Barbara a lot and getting healing lessons from her or her like-- groveling at Dionas feet trying to learn how to heal her troops AHAHAHA
DUUUUUUUDE the Geo dudes are gonna have sO MUCH FUN SINCE LIKE-- even tho earth bending is SUUUUPER underrated, in the right hands its SO fucking op. I can already see Ningguang trying to master metal bending so she can literally just-- detect what metals are around her and the quality of them. Like "oh this ugly unrefined lump of metal is much MUCH more valuable than the necklace youre trying to sell me there. Tell me, youre not foolish enough to try and swindle the Tianyuan Qixing? Oh? How was I able to tell? With the knowledge and gifts brought by our Grace of course!" And Zhongli trying to master every aspect of earth bending, from seismic sense to metal bending to lava bending and so on, because even though he stepped down as Archon, he is STILL the Prime of the Adepti and Lord of Geo. And if this brings him a closer connection to the Overseer? Lol thats just an added benefit AHAHAHAH
The Dendro users thoooo, they would DEFFO take advantage of their inherent and direct connection to water to better connect with the plantlife around them. ACTUALLY i can see Collei kind of learning how to heal herself of Eleazar BECAUSE of her connection to Dendro and Dendro's connection to water-- the "healing" element. And i can also see Tighnari like-- using it as a different sort of "seismic sense" in a way. Thanks to the lessons learned from the Hydro users that can now fucking bend plants, he can turn that lesson-- the "finding the bendable parts amdist the unbendable parts" and turn it into his own! So he could, using his Dendro Vision, detect and identify any and all plantlife nearby by the way the Dendro element surrounds the Hydro element that flows within the plants themselves! If hes familiar enough with the plants, and honestly he probably is, he could determine its age, species, health, and any other aspects of it he'd want to learn
And ohhhhh my gOD-- dont even get me STARTED on them mixing in their own martial arts into their bending styles. Because like-- each bending style is based off and inspired tby many real life martial arts. Tai Chi for waterbending, Hung Gar for earth, Northern Shaolin for Fire, Ba Gua Zhang for air and so on. So, imagine them just mixing in the fighting styles of each nation or even their own personal fighting style into their bending style! So like-- i can see Thoma mixing into his Firebending some Inazuman Judo or Karate (both are Japanese martial arts and Inazuma is based off Japan) and some Mondstadtian Ringen (Mond is based off Germany and Ringen is German style martial arts/grappling) to really like-- personalize and make Firebending his very own. And, taking that further, even taking the lessons from the show-- the lesson that every element is connected and that you can learn from each and every element. You can actually see that in, as how ATLA goes on, you can see the Gaang and the other benders using bending moves from other elements-- not just Aang learning the other elements to become a Master Avatar but literally everyone-- Zuko using a move he learned from Iroh who learned from waterbenders, Katara using earthbending moves to bend ice, and so on. I could think of more but im currently sick off my ass and my brain is mush. So characters who already have a fluid connection with their Vision/Element or just have that fluidity thanks to their job or their natural personality, have a much more unique way of controlling the elements! The only ones i can think of rn is Yunjin and Childe-- Yunjin because of the slight and fluid movements she makes as an opera singer and actor, i mean-- have you even watched her attack animations? Theyre SOOOO smooth and pretty!! And Childe because of his Delusion, meaning hed already be trying to learn the other bending arts and, thanks to his fight brain, would definitely look for a way to incorporate each elements bending styles and moves into his own
FUUUUUCK dawg, i could go on and on and ON but im currently sick off my ass and i need the rest gjsjfnsjfi-- Feel free to yoink my idea and build off it!! Id love to see what yall think :))

So we are fucked again,
thanks to the worst drought since, apparently, 1938, hydro plants are not working, blackouts resumed, for 2 days government owned everything and private production companies not working and schools closed, Colombia does not sell us electricity because they also have drought, and is pissed at us (as is everyone) for entering the Mexican Embassy, getting the former Vice-President charged with corruption out, and putting him in prison. My personal opinion? Yes, Mexican territory and the asylum laws were violated. On the other hand... Mexico accepts every corrupt Ecuadorian politician running from the charges.
IMO big outrage is happening not because " international law and agreements blah blah" but because every politician everywhere is thinking "holy shit, what if it happens to ME?!"
Never a dull moment...
One of the previous Presidents, Rafael Correa, promoted very heavily the electrical, as opposed to ĝas, appliances; hydro plants were going to give us an abundant and cheap energy. Which would happen IF all the plants would be finished, AND there would be enough water 🫤
I'm very lucky, no blackouts in my area, but some friends had it for 8-10 hours.
