Celebratory date
Pairing: Karasu Tabito x manager!(Y/n)
Warnings: none really. Reader uses she/her. Requests are open
⚽️Blue lock belongs to:Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura⚽️
"I like you! Let's go on a date!"
After that was uttered, there was a short silence between (Y/n) and Karasu. The girl's eyes widened at his confession, thinking that maybe adrenaline after the game made him say that, she tried to laugh it off.
"Funny! But don't joke about such things, Karasu-"
"I am not joking. I mean it. I wanted to say this long before this game against U-20 was announced. I just kept putting it off because... I was a coward." Karasu admitted nervously and looked back at (Y/n) with a red face. The girl took a moment for his words to sink and then thought over the whole idea. They will both be free for the next 2 weeks or so, and it's not like she had much to do during her stay home. Aside from helping her dad around and maybe meeting some old friends, that was it.
'Besides, he is cute...' Her eyes widened at her own thoughts and she nodded her head slowly.
"Sure...  sounds like a great idea!" (Y/n) answered, laughing a little as Karasu started cheering himself on.
Adjusting her scarf, (Y/n) made her way to the café Karasu said they would meet up. It was a rather cold day and there weren't many people outside, much to (Y/n)'s relief.
'I really hate crowds.' She thought with a frown. The grumpy expression soon after turned into a happy one as she noticed Karasu outside the café, playing something on his phone. Picking up her pace, she made her way towards the black-purplish haired boy.
"Karasu! Did you wait for too long?! Sorry, the bus was late!" The boy looked up from his phone and grinned as (Y/n) stopped in front of him, shaking his head in the process.
"No problem, I just arrived here too. You look pretty cute today~" Karasu smirked as he saw the girl become flustered as well as started stuttering a little.
"Th-thanks! You look great too." (Y/n) added in, a little embarrassed as Karasu raised his eyebrow.
"Did you grow taller? I know we didn't see each other in days, but..." Karasu said, as he patted the girl's head.
"No! I put on these heels I bought before leaving for Blue Lock. I never really wore them, so it's a little off for me to wear them." (Y/n) explained, pointing at the said items. Karasu nodded his head, giving a few compliments how cute they looked and how they fit her.
"I didn't know you liked romcoms, Karasu." (Y/n) commented as the boy handed her the tickets, shrugging his shoulders right after.
"They are not my piece of cake, but a romcom from time to time is a nice change. Besides, you told me about this movie weeks ago." Karasu said, eyeing the girl as they stood in line for the food. (Y/n) blinked a few times before looking at him in confusion.
"I did?"
"Yeah, when we were having lunch. You said how your favorite actress is the female lead and how you hope to see it without someone spoiling it." (Y/n) pouted as she tried to remember when she said it.
'It does sound like something I would say...' Karasu's face turned red at the sight, and he held back a squeal from how cute she looked.
'So adorable! I wish I could take a picture of her like this!'
"Oh!"
"What?" Karasu asked, worriedly looking at her as he brushed his previous thoughts off.
"I just remembered that day... you really thought of what I said for so long?" (Y/n) asked in surprise, growing a little shy at how attentive he was to that minor part of their conversation.
"Of course. I memorize things about the people I hold dear." Karasu said nonchalantly, causing (Y/n) to grow more and more flustered as his words hit her.
'Karasu...' (Y/n) thought as they went to order their snacks. Karasu kept his cool, but inside he was just a mess over his own words.
'Why did I say it like that?!'
Karasu had seen a few things in his life that made him stop in his tracks, weather they were good or bad was up for debate, but the sight he had in front of him right now takes the cake. He expected (Y/n) to be happy to see the movie, it was a generic one, but still something that made her happy. Karasu was holding back a few yawns, not wanting to get her attention like that, and then turned his attention to (Y/n). And the sight of her big smile and eyes excitedly glued on the big screen made him stop breathing for a moment.
'Adorable!' The blue-eyed boy thought as he blushed and kept his eyes glued on her. The movie was boring, but it made (Y/n) happy, so that alone made the trip worth it for him.
After the movie was over, the two decided to got to a local fast food restaurant and eat some lunch. (Y/n) decided to use this as an opportunity to talk about the movie as Karasu would nod along to what she said. He was either zoning out or sending (Y/n) looks while the movie played, so there wasn't much he could add.
"That was so adorable! Did you see how cute the reunion was?!" (Y/n) giggled as she ate her hamburger, Karasu nodding along as he sipped his drink.
"Yeah, their acting was pretty good. Made me believe their emotions were real for a moment." Karasu said, remembering the moment the male and female lead cried over something. (Y/n) nodded along with a big smile.
"The male lead kinda reminded me of Masaru." Karasu added in.
"Who is that?"
"Oh! It'd just a character from a manga I have been reading."
"What's it called? I want to see the character now that you mentioned the similarities." Karasu noted her genuine curiosity and he put his drink down, slowly starting to explain the manga and the character. Soon after he started speaking more and more, excited that someone was willing to listen to his interests, (Y/n)'s questions were just an added bonus to his excitement.
"Is everything alright?" Karasu stopped in his tracks and turned to look back at (Y/n), who was standing a few feet behind him, frowning as she looked at her feet. The duo were making their way to the mall, deciding a walk after all the food was good, but sadly had to stop rather abruptly.
"I am fine, I just need to stop for a moment..." (Y/n) explained sheepishly as Karasu raised his eyebrow.
"Huh? Are you alright?" He asked, walking closer to her.
"Yeah... it's just that I didn't wear heels for a while... and new ones are always pain." (Y/n) said, pointing at the items as Karasu looked down at them, slowly nodding his head when he realized what she meant.
"Alright then." Karasu said as he kneeled down on the ground, startling (Y/n).
"Get on. I will carry you there." He explained nonchalantly while pointing at his back.
"What?! I can't do that!" She said, flustered by the idea.
"Why not?" Karasu asked, causing (Y/n) to look at him in disbelief.
"People will stare and I might be heavy for you-"
"1) I don't care about the people, I care about your comfort. And 2) you won't be heavy. Now hop on~" Karasu said, leaving (Y/n) to think it over for the moment.
"Alright..." She slowly nodded her head and got onto his back.
"Let's go then." Karasu laughed as (Y/n) tightened her hold around his neck.
The days following after the date (Y/n) couldn't stop thinking about the day, her heart racing whenever she thought over everything Karasu did for her. So as a sign of her gratefulness, she searched for a present she could give him. And after days and days of searching, she found the perfect item, just in time before they had to leave for Blue Lock, too.
"What's that?" Otoya raised his eyebrow as him, Niko and Yukimiya watched the boy excitedly look at some package as he was opening it.
"Just a figurine from a manga I have been reading. (Y/n) got it for me."
"(Y/n)? How would she know what you read?" Niko asked skeptically, not believing the girl bought Karasu a present.
"I told her that when we're were on a date." Karasu shrugged his shoulders, smirking as the trio's faces turned red.
"You what?! That's not fair, Karasu!"
"Yeah man, you can't just betray me like that. You know I like (Y/n)."
"You snooz, you lose." Karasu stuck his tongue out and looked back at the figurine, over the moon that she took the time to look for it.

‘broken’ miya atsumu.
a/n : lol i almost cried writing this so enjoy.
warnings : angst, physical violence (slap), mentions of cheating, mild swearing, me not proof reading.
“y/n, i love you and i want to spend the rest of my life by your side, so will you marry me?” you watched your boyfriend of four years get on one knee. he had told you earlier on to dress up nicely as it was a ‘special’ occasion. you assumed the only reason was the fact that the two of you were going to one of the best resturants in the city which would no doubt produce a bank breaking bill. but you were wrong, the occasion was special and you could easily name it as one of the best moments of your life.
it was hard to imagine that anything would be able to overshadow this, the feeling of bliss in your heart as he said those words to you, the sparkle in your eyes as you watched him pull at the ring which he clearly spent a fortune on, the round of applause ringing in the background from the on-lookers who were also dining. perhaps the only thing that would be better than this would be the birth of your first child, or all your children in fact.
you’d always imagined a life with miya atsumu the moment he asked you to be his girlfriend, you knew that he was more of the apartment type, specifically penthouses since his professional volleyball career allowed him a generous pay. you on the other hand had always been a house type, you longed for something big enough to nurture a family in, the two of you had been bickering about this for years since high school since the both of you were so sure that you would end up being his wife.
“yes, yes, yes oh my god of course i’ll marry you.” you squealed in excitement leaping into his arms with the biggest smile you had ever flaunted in your entire life. and those were the words he wanted to hear more than anything because he too had imagined a perfect life with you.. if only he could abide by it.
you rested in his arms, only pulling away to run your fingers over the pricey ring he had bought you. and of course he knew you’d love it when you had it saved to one of your pinterest boards for years.
“congratulations.” an array of customers proclaimed giving in to the celebratory atmosphere. truly, this was everything you could have asked for in life, you had a wonderful fiance, a beautiful place to live, you were thriving in your career and your social life was buzzing, curtesy of many of atsumu’s friends.
“do you like it?” he asked taking your hand to admire how beautiful you looked under the lighting positioned directly under your table. in addition, the stunning dress you had picked for the night was making you anything but resistible. how badly he wanted to tear the fabric off you and pound into you until sunrise was something he was struggling to hide.
“it’s beautiful.” you were mesmerised by the sight of it and your fiancé’s thoughtfulness, there was a love erupting in you that you weren’t even aware it was possible to feel for another person.
“let’s go home and.. celebrate.” he smirked with a smug expression on his face leading you towards the car. you knew exactly what he was thinking and how needy he was getting but tonight especially you would allow him to indulge in his lewd thoughts.
he held the car door open for you, he noted how much you loved this model, in fact it was your favourite one. it was one of the many things he noted about you as he planned to buy all the things you liked. maybe then you would forgive him, right? he hoped so.
he tapped against the steering wheel as the two of you drove down the night streets of tokyo, you assumed it was out of impatience because you were too distracted by your own thoughts to be as observant as usual with your boyfriends emotional state.
“y/n.. i need to tell you something.” he looked out of the window avoiding making eye contact with you as his drumming got louder. you turned to face him, readying yourself for him to make one of his usual silly jokes, or maybe one of his lewd speeches that would often come out when he got particularly riled up by you.
“what is it?” you asked with a light chuckle, the atmosphere of just a few minutes ago still buzzing within you.
“i- there’s no right way to say this but .. a couple months ago i slept with another woman and — i can’t bear the thought of you marrying me without knowing.” his words spilled out, there was barely a space between them and to any one else it would have been completely incoherent.
“what are you talking about ‘tsumu? that’s not funny.” you rolled your eyes with a smile leaning back into the passenger seat feeling the way the car moved on the smooth roads beneath you. there was a brief pause before atsumu decided to speak again, and between those seconds you thought absolutely nothing of his words. how you wish he would have just laughed along and stayed quiet, why? why did he have to tell you?
“i’m being serious.” he clenched his jaw causing you to whip your head in his direction, his eyes were still ahead on the road but he could feel your glare boaring into his skull. he couldn’t bare to face you, no — he didn’t deserve to face you.
“what?” your expression faltered, a new atmosphere dawned between the both of you. one that was a lot thicker — almost suffocating and heavily juxtaposed the one from the resturant. there was a million thoughts going through your mind right now, how was this possible? how did you not notice? how long had this been going on? why was he just telling you now? it was almost impossible to process it all at once with the feeling of your heart pounding out of your chest and your stomach getting ready to reject the food that you had eaten just minutes ago.
“i’m sorry i just, i got carried away that day you know? it was only a one time thing but i—“ his voice was cut off by a harsh slap to his cheek. you watched as the surface of his face turned red, he didn’t bother reprimanding you for getting physical, if he was being honest he expected it from you, actually he expected more. it was almost scary the way you weren’t shouting and screaming at him, the way you weren’t kicking and clawing away at him, it made him feel all the much worse.
you sighed to yourself, your breath was shaky as your heart was shattering in your chest and you hadn’t even noticed that you were crying. maybe it was because you were too occupied realising the way your life had all come crashing down in a matter of moments. your fiancé had cheated on you.. what does that mean for your relationship? would you even call him your fiancé anymore? and what about your home with him? not to mention the friendships you had with an array of his friends. what did this all mean?
“why?” your voice was below a whisper, you could barely muster up the voice to speak, there was a sickening feeling in your chest that you were way too focused on instead of your words.
“it wasn’t you.. it’s never been you, you’re perfect you’re everything i’ve ever wanted, i don’t know why, i’m just an idiot i was so stupid and i’ve regretted it everyday since... but i’m gonna fix it i promise i’ll fix it.” his voice was shaky and uneven, you could tell without looking at him that he was on the verge of tears. but that was nothing compared to what you were feeling. the fact that you had laid next to him for months without knowing that he had bedded another woman. did he touch her the way he did you? did he prefer her to you? was she prettier than you?
“how? how are you going to fix it?” you turned to him, tears staining your mascara and eyeliner, there was no doubt know that you looked like a mess. what you didn’t know is that atsumu still thought you were the prettiest girl in the world but you were too occupied being hit by the crushing realisation that the best moment of your life had just turned into the worst. love had so easily turned to hate and all your time together meant absolutely nothing to you anymore.
“well we’re going to get married right? and you’ve always liked this car right babe? i’ll buy you one. and there’s that house you always wanted, i can put a down payment on it today—“
“no.” you buried your head into your hands at the thought of your next words. four years? what did four years of your life mean now? what did you have left? “we’re not getting married.”
“wha— but you already said yes, come on don’t be like that, don’t you remember it was just a few minutes ago, you were so happy.” he spewed out words frantically, desperate to say something, anything, that would make you stay. he was prepared to sell his soul if it meant keeping you by his side, the only woman he had ever loved, the only one he had ever imagined a future with, the only one he wanted to start a family with, you were his everything.
“that was before you told me that you cheated on me and here you are throwing all these material things at me, a car? really miya? four years together and you’re here treating me like some gold-digging whore after breaking my heart? that’s why you proposed to me isn’t it? you think this ring will make me stay.” you were crying uncontrollably now and nothing atsumu could say to you or offer you would ever make you feel better.
“miya? y/n please i don’t know what else to do i’m trying to be honest with you—“
“pull over.” you interrupted him once again and he had no choice but to oblige. he knew that right now he was in no position to deny your wishes. but this was all temporary.. because you would come around right?
“i don’t understand why you would do this to me.” you bit down on your lip hard enough to draw blood, your head was spinning and it felt like your throat was closing up. you needed to leave, because miya atsumu was now too suffocating for you to be around.
“i know, i know i’m sorry, please y/n i’m so sorry — look i’m getting the house now i still want a future with you.” he tugged on your arm begging you to look at his phone where he was already entering his account details for the place you had been fawning over.
“don’t fucking touch me.” you swatted his hand away. you didn’t want him to be anywhere near you knowing how close he had been with another.
“i’ll give you space if you need it, i’ll give you whatever you want just please — don’t leave me, please don’t.” his hands were shaking now as he tried entering various different numbers into his phone, he didn’t care if he had to buy the entire house now, he’d pay for the whole thing this second if it meant he could walk you down the aisle in a couple months time.
“i don’t need anything from you.. i don’t want this anymore, forget about that house, forget about a family together, forget about marrying me.”
“no no no y/n you’re just angry right now but please don’t say things like that you don’t know how it makes me feel.” he turned to face you and his heart clenched at the tears running down your face. your makeup was smudged and you had pushed yourself to the very edge of the car just to make sure you were as far away from him as possible.
“and what about how i feel huh? did you think about that when you were fucking some other girl wherever the two of you were? you have no idea how i feel, you have no idea..” you brought your hands to your face, concealing your weak figure from his eyes.
“i don’t want this.” you removed the ring from your finger, the same one you had saved to your pinterest board for years, the same one you had imagined atsumu using to propose to you countless times, the same one that had featured in both the best and worst moment of your life.
“y/n please..” his words were stuck in his throat now, he was finally realising that there was nothing he could say — nothing he could do to make you stay. you wouldn’t come around, you respected yourself too highly for that, he would never be able to call you his again. what did his life mean?
“i hate you miya atsumu.” you pushed the door open walking out of his car despite how much he begged you to stay. you didn’t care how he chased you down the road, you didn’t care what he said to you, you didn’t think you would ever care again.. you didn’t have it in you.
and the curse placed upon atsumu? he would never be able to find love again, because he betrayed the only person to stay by his side with unconditional love for years .. there was no one on the planet who loved him the way you did.

Shun Kaidou x Male! Reader HCs
Best boy best boy best boy!!! also may or may not sneak some Transguy!Kaidou in this too, hope that y'all don't mind!
Tumblr media
Poor boy saw you for the first time and automatically thought you were the prettiest boy he ever saw, so when you introduced yourself to him he stammered like a fool for 2 minutes, then went on with the dramatic 'Jet Black Wings' introduction
You had to discreetly ask other students if you were allowed to play along with his hero delusion or if you had to break it to him that the Dark Reunion doesn't exist
You went a long with it just a tad, you couldn't fully shut him down because of the sad and discouraged look on his face when people made fun of him for it
I can imagine once Kaidou starts developing feelings for you, he was on edge and harsher (?) because in his mind you suddenly became an undercover villain the Dark Reunion sent to befriend him and then get rid of
Even though the reality of it was that he just never dealt with a genuine crush before and it scares him
Queue Saiki stepping in to set things straight because it did hurt you a bit to see Kaidou go on and claim that you're some evil enchanter dude out to get him and he started distancing himself away from you. Don't be mistaken, Kaidou definitely felt the effects of his own actions too. He apologized so many times once Saiki had to get involved because it weirded him out to see his friend classmate get so down because of a guy
Also Saiki was the one to clarify to Kaidou that what he was experiencing was a crush, unintentionally starting too many plans on how Kaidou will win you over and you'll become his boyfriend
Project "Make Y/N my super amazing and cute and handsome boyfriend" is a go!
It starts off with daily compliments, that usually has him hyping himself up with his Hero persona, then him absolutely losing his cool once he actually sees you
"Hey Y/N! You look handsome today!" Oh my god did his voice just crack. "Oh thanks, but are you sick or something? Your face is red."
Okay okay Plan A isn't going that well,,, onto Plan B: Impress him!
This meant that you were constantly being "saved" by The Jet Black Wings, even though the saving was just preventing you from going through minor inconveniences
I swear to God it's like a 6th sense this simp had. Hands are full and the door almost closed on you? Boom, here's Kaidou to save the day! Almost tripped on some litter on the ground on your way to school? Kaidou literally yelled + kicked at it and claimed that it was a trap planted by the Dark Reunion since they knew that you were close to him
You aren't that dumb, you had that suspicion that he had a crush on you so you decided to talk to him privately about it via a study session at your house
So when it was time to address his recent behavior, his brain hit the panic button because this wasn't supposed to happen. You weren't supposed to catch on this early. He waved his hands around, frantically apologizing if he made you uncomfortable and if you wanted to stay friends that's 100% okay with him a-
You had to shut him up with a lil kiss on the cheek and told him that you want him to be your boyfriend too.
Nice going Y/N, not even a minute into your new relationship and you're already sure you killed your bf
He got so red faced he passed out-
Considering how he reacted to a little kiss, y'all don't do pda at all unless you want to fluster him
Which doesn't take much, hold his hand on the way to school and he goes "Y/N!!SJSNSKKSBZJSNSHAJ" "Shun, how were you able to even pronounce that?" "It's one of the many secret abilities the Jet Black Wings has yet to show you, darling Y/N!"
You're his sidekick now, even if you don't fully commit to the hero bit. He'll ask you for back up when he's faced with a great foe
You better back him up. Mostly to be a good boyfriend. Secondly, if he's trying to stand up to someone bigger than him (which to be fair. Is literally everyone) there's a good chance you need to be on standby just in case we need a trip to the nurse's office
He likes to call you his Second in Command or he shows you hero name ideas for you in his notebook
He has a separate notebook for your Relationship btw and it's very cute
When you both hang out at Shun's house, it has to be under the excuse of it being for studying just because he hasn't come out as gay yet to his mom yet. He has a feeling that his mom would be okay with it. Like she accepted that her son was trans, but it still makes him nervous
Mama Kaidou already knows and doesn't mind you dating her son. His grades actually have gone up since the relationship started so she's happy and will mind her own business
Y'all actually do study in this at home sessions and it's actually kind of cute. Celebratory kisses when he does well in reviews and at the end y'all cuddle while he gets to ramble about his plans on defeating the Dark Reunion
Dating Shun also involves making sure he's doing okay and he's not pushing himself too hard despite him being a kick ass "superhero"
This mostly comes in when he gets dysphoric and wears his binder for too long
"Shun, it's necessary for you to take breaks. Wearing your binder for longer than you should will mess up your transition in the future." "But I'm okay! You forget I'm not a mere mortal I can handl-" "I'll let you wear my sweaters." "*👀* Okay!"
Days like those are just the both of you cuddling, him wearing your sweater/hoodie, and you giving Shun little remarks to make him feel better
His favorite is when you call him "my hero" or simply "handsome man"
Please run your fingers through his hair it makes him so happy
If you don't wanna wear his hoodies or if you can't, he'll gladly lend you his various rings and necklaces
"This ring was blessed by the gods for ultimate protection against enemies! I think it's the best for you to wear this when I'm not around to protect you."
It was one of those glow in the dark rings you get at arcades, but you couldn't break the proud smile on his face.
Also likes to gift you crystals too! It doesn't matter if they end up not being 100% real, you still put them proudly on your desk and Shun gets so overjoyed when he finds out they aren't just casted aside
He's so happy with you, he finally has someone who loves him and doesn't judge him on his hero complex and doesn't mind the awkward guy behind it too. He gives you many kisses when he is reminded of that and constantly reminds you how lucky he is to have you as his boyfriend <3

Amoreena | chapter twelve
Tumblr media
Chapter Twelve
main summary: Heaven is a real place and it's located exactly 14.6 miles away from the FBI, Quantico Headquarters. Off behind a small park, under a fantastical willow tree surrounded by wildflowers, in every colour young minds can imagine.
Don't forget, heaven also comes with angels.
Chapter Warnings: spencers mom has a bad day at the doctor's and so spencer thinks he's going to have a bad day too but he ends up having the best day of his entire life.
talk of pregnancy, celebratory sex, oral (female receiving), grinding, no penetration, serious deep talks after sex about their most depressive episodes, sharing trauma and making sure they know the other is loved regardless of what goes on in their mind. it's a rough one so read with caution
word count: 4.5K
from the beginning <3
He was up before Amoreena, awaking for the second time that morning to the sound of his alarm, kissing Y/N on the forehead before leaving their bed, she simply laid there and watched him get ready.
Most of his clothes were here now, every time he was near his apartment he brought more and more things home with him. Because that wasn’t his home, it hadn’t been for a long time, even when he lived there it was just a trove of books and a bed he slept on occasionally.
They were probably going to move all his stuff over in the summer, after the second wedding… after the girls meet Taylor, and hopefully when Y/N’s actually pregnant and not too sick or tired to help.
“Come here,” she whispers before he can slip out of the room, “kiss your wife.”
He can’t help but smile as he bounds towards the bed, jumping in and wrapping her up in his arms. He smothers her face in kisses, making her laugh, still half asleep as she let him manhandle her.
“I love you,” he reminded her.
“We love you too,” she replied with a smile, answering for Amoreena even though she was still asleep down the hall, “don’t wake her up yet, she needs all her rest for today.”
“I’ll be quiet,” he responds with a smile, kissing her again before he finally gets out of the bed, if not he would have stayed there forever.
He tiptoes down the hall and into Amoreena’s room, kissing her sweet little forehead lightly before exiting just as quietly. It was like he was never there.
He snuck down the stairs quietly, locked the door behind himself on the way out, and took off down the driveway in his old blue Volvo amazon, paying extra attention to the path for any kitties or Rufus out on their morning strolls.
It didn’t take long for a happy day to go sour when he was in a doctor's office with his mom. Those were the worst places he could go with her, especially on a bad day. Her mind was playing tricks on her, she really didn’t like hospitals or government buildings, even lawyers' offices stressed her out.
Today she was convinced he wasn’t really her son, Spencer, and that he was actually leading her to be a government experiment. It was hard to see her struggle, especially on a day they needed to ask her serious questions while she sat still. It was the fact she had to stay awake for 24 hours that triggered the episode, the EEG requiring her mind to be deprived of sleep. It was rough, she barely knew him. They wouldn’t have the test results for a while but he already knew it wasn’t good.
He dropped her back off at the home as quickly as he could, not able to deal with the verbal abuse any longer, he didn’t even say goodbye. The woman he dropped off was his mother on the outside but not on the inside today. It was really hard to look at her and know her, but not see that same look in her eyes.
By the time he’s returning to the farm, it’s 11:45 and he’s exhausted.
He finds Y/N in the bedroom, lying in bed in just a t-shirt and her underwear, completely sound asleep with the blankets thrown off the bed. She looks so beautiful, he slips out of his clothes to match her, sliding into bed beside her and just looking at her perfect face.
He presses a kiss to her shoulder that startles her awake, “oh god, Spencer!” she places her hand on her heart as she calms down.
“Sorry,” he smiles, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her in closer.
“How’s your mom?” Her tired words meet his ears and his smile dies.
“Not great, really don’t want to talk about it yet,” he was honest with her, snuggling in closer as she hummed in agreement to drop it. “How was Amoreena’s morning?”
“I told Amoreena I wouldn’t tell you, but I don’t need to you to freak out in front of all the kids or cry or pass out in front of all them, but there’s a positive pregnancy test on her all about me project,” she explains it like she’s about to say it’s just Amoreena’s from 8 years ago…
He pulls back slowly, looking into her eyes as she smiles wider and wider, “you’re pregnant?”
She nods her head as her smile gets bigger and toothier, she’s wrapping her arms around him so tight it’s like he can’t breathe for multiple reasons.
“We did it, Spencer, I made you a daddy again,” the words carry from her mouth in a beautiful tune.
He’s holding her back so gently, afraid to squeeze too hard and hurt her and the tiny little life that’s starting inside her. He’s silent, overjoyed but absolutely dumbstruck at the fact it’s real. A month ago he thought about walking into traffic after work and just seeing what happened, now he was a father of 2 with a wife and a happy farm and a life that was good.
A life he deserved.
All thanks to a beautiful little girl with an interest in dinosaurs and making new friends. Amoreena was an angel sent from heaven, improving both of their lives greatly, and now they were making another.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, oh my god yes, I’m just,” he didn’t know what words to say and it was evident. “Amoreena knows?”
She nodded softly, “she now knows girl parts make eggs, boy parts make sperm, and that adults have sex but you can only make a baby at 25, she really didn’t seem to be all that interested in the science, but she’s excited to be a big sister.”
“Wow,” it all caught up to him then, he placed his hand on her stomach softly, “hi little one.”
Y/N laid back against the bed, pulling her shirt up so he could see the barely-there bump, “It’s mostly leftover’s from Amoreena, but yeah, there’s another one in there.”
He couldn’t help himself from running his hands over the curve of her stomach, thinking about Amoreena being in there once upon a time and how tiny she must have been. It was even weirder to think that a part of her was once even in him.
“It’s strange to think that I jerked off into a cup and you made the most perfect kid on earth with it… it just feels like it doesn’t add up. She’s so perfect I can’t believe she was once a part of us both,” he can’t help but let his inner monologue seep out, she didn’t mind it, she loved hearing how his mind worked.
“I can’t wait to see you holding this little one,” her hands joined his on her stomach, the shape of her forefingers and thumbs making a heart over her bare belly.
Spencer leaned in and kissed right in the middle, beside her belly button, in love with whoever was in there already.
“Amoreena had a dream last night too,” Y/N cuts into his little moment, “guess how many sisters she said she had.”
“8?” Spencer can’t help but smile.
She nods, “I don’t know what it is about this house but the good dreams always come true, who knows how many babies are in there right now.”
“I hope just one for now,” he says in all honesty, “I really want time with just one little one, you and Amoreena. A family of four for a bit and then the twins, that’s how it was in the dream.”
“Did they have names?”
“You called them Elly, Junie, tho and Cordelia, and you said there were 3 sets of twins, two after Cordelia,” he remembers it all as if he was really there, whispering all the words against her stomach, his cheek resting on the band of her underwear as he laid between her legs with his arms around her.
“Amoreena, Elizabeth, Juniper, Theodora, and Cordelia were all the options I was choosing from last time,” she says with the widest smile, “how the heck did your mind know that?”
“It felt very real, which is why I was so worried about where I was, I don’t know how I could have missed anything but now I know that part was just my anxiety,” Spencer rationalized it. “Amoreena probably had the better version of that future in her dream last night.”
“I was having a great dream before you came back,” she teases him, running her fingers through his hair as he continues to kiss her stomach.
He loops his fingers around the band of her underwear, sliding it down just low enough to really kiss where that baby of his is hiding out. She lifts her hips into the contact, letting him slip them down her legs and completely off, she spreads her legs even more.
He takes his time pressing a kiss to every single inch of her, her skin is soft, her leg hair is prickly on his hands and his cheeks but it’s nice, he rubs his face against her like a cat marking his territory as she continued to scratch his scalp.
He spread her open with two fingers, he presses a soft kiss to her clitoris and all the way down to her opening before licking a wet stripe up the sensitive skin. The moan she releases is the loudest one he’s heard on her yet, it was really the first time he’s been allowed to really enjoy her.
“It’s important for your partner to help with the stretching in the third trimester,” she teases him, “but they don’t mention anything about starting too early being a bad thing.”
“I don’t want to disrupt anything in there,” he worries aloud, letting her decide if it’s okay.
“Don’t flatter yourself,” she laughed, “I don’t think you’d reach them, but if you’re really worried there are other ways to help.”
“Such as,” he asks, lowering his face back down to her wet heat, continuing to explore her with his tongue as he expects her to talk.
“You, um you can, shit, wow,” she props herself up on her elbows to get a better look at what he’s doing as she stalls for a few minutes, “just rub yourself over me, Spencer please, I want more of you.”
She grips him by his cheeks and pulls him up into a kiss, both of them rushing to push his boxers down and off his legs, she spreads her own once more so he can press against her.
His hard cock resting flat against her, rubbing back and forth as he spreads her wetness around with him. The head gliding over her clit just the right way as she held him close to her body, kissing down his neck and sucking marks all over his chest.
She was desperate for him and who was he to deprive her, so he rocked into her more, grinding down harder against her body and making her shaking lightly. It felt better, more intimate, more euphoric than any other sex he’s had, just being close to her had him on the edge faster than he expected to get there.
She’s chanting his name then, head tossed back against the pillow as she digs her fingers into his asscheeks, holding him so close to him he can feel her orgasm rush through her. She stills, bucking up into him one last time as he finishes all across her stomach.
His hands are curled around her cheeks then, holding her perfect face in his hands as he hovers over her, using everything in his power to not crush her or the baby. He’s trying so hard to steady his breathing, so is she, they just smile at each other, laughing lightly at how in love they are.
“I love you,” he says on impulse, “you’re so good to me.”
“Look at all the good you’ve given me,” she whispers, “it would be wrong for me not to love you for everything you’ve done for me, whether you were aware of it or not.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m not going to tell you about my depression while your cum dries between us like glue,” she laughed at how crude it sounded.
He laughs lightly too, rolling off her to see just how much of a mess they made. “Tell me in the shower?”
“Seems appropriate,” she agreed, taking his hand and following him into the bathroom.
He loved the old feel of her bathroom, the green linoleum and floral wallpaper, the pink towels and bright orange shower curtain, it was happy and bright and the perfect place to laugh for half an hour as they washed each other.
She has him pressed against the shower wall then, water trickling over them gently as she stares into his eyes, “I don’t know how to say it without it coming out really scary,” she finally resumes the conversation they were about to have in the bedroom.
“I’ve probably been in the same mental state, I’m not going to judge your method of choice,” he explains it in a way that she’ll know he really, really gets it.
“I had a few suicidal thoughts when my grandma went to chemo before I chose your sample and before I did all the hormones, I was thinking why should I stay and bring another life into my misery when I could just die first and not have to see her go through that anymore,” she sucks her bottom lip into her mouth as she stops, letting him digest all the words.
“Did you try anything?” He’s not sure why he’s asking.
She shakes her head, the best no he’s ever seen in his life. “My grandma noticed on my birthday when I wasn't coming down for breakfast like normal, I was really depressed and so we went out and talked and had lunch together for the first time in forever cause she wasn't feeling sick, I’ll never forget it. It was the best and worst birthday of my life.”
“I’m the worst husband ever,” he says, taking her by surprise, “I don’t even know your birthday.”
It makes her laugh, taking her out of the sadness as she realizes he really doesn’t judge her, he gets it completely. “January 16th, 1986, three minutes after Evan,” she manages to say it with a smile.
“That’s the date Maeve died,” both of them stare at each other in shock, wondering just how many other coincidences they had out there to figure out.
“How many days after did you donate?”
“On the 19th,” he confirmed without taking a breath, “holy shit.”
“We both were suicidal on the same day,” she covers her mouth with a wet slap, laughing at the worst thing she’s ever said, it’s the shock and the emotions of everything catching up to her right then and there.
“Oh my god,” he laughs in response, both of them laughing as they hugged in the corner of her green shower. “we are fucked up.”
“Soulmate things,” she shrugged, holding him even tighter.
He wished she could see his face then, the looking that overcame him as he heard the word soulmates. She just called him her soulmate. He licks his lips, taking it all in and almost hyperventilating, she can feel the way his breathing changes as she looks up with concern.
“What?”
He shakes the thoughts out, swallowing sharply as he makes eye contact with her, “nothing.”
“No, I know that look Spencer, what did your brain say to you this time? I will go in there and kick its ass,” she pokes his forehead then, threatening his anxiety to fuck off.
“I never thought I’d get to hear someone say that to me, it’s stupid,” he felt too vulnerable suddenly, sky and closed off.
“Who hurt you?” She asks in complete curiosity, wanting to know why he can’t imagine someone loving him.
“My parents,” it slips out before he can catch it, “I love my mom. I always have to preface that, she did what she could but it was nowhere near enough. I don’t hold anything against her, I just hate that that’s how it was, that she had bad days at all because they always shine brighter in my memory than the good days.”
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have pushed you,” she worries this time, seeing the hurt on his face and feeling like she fucked up, he can read her micro-expressions easier than anyone else.
“I would have told you soon enough, my dad left because of my mom's illness and he made sure I knew he didn’t want me. I don’t care that he kept up with me on the internet, the fact he didn’t even care to let me know he lived 10 miles from me my whole life makes me feel sick. I was 14 point 6 miles away from Amoreena this whole time and I would give all my fucking organs to go back in time and be with her from day 1, I don’t get how he could just not love me?” The rant comes out of his mouth for the first time ever, the same thoughts that have been there building for 40 years bursting at the seam.
She reaches behind them to turn off the water then, stepping away from him while he cools down a bit, “Yeah, no I get it, I hate him too now. That's so fucked up, honey, I'm so sorry.”
It makes him huff out a laugh, “I’m sorry, you’re not my therapist you don’t have to deal with all that.”
“I’m your wife, I deal with that regardless. In sickness and in health remember?” She reminds him, “depression is just as real of an illness as cancer. I don’t want you to keep these thoughts from me. I want to know about every paper cut, every splinter, every bad thought that crosses that beautiful mind because I love you.”
“As long as you always remember that too,” he makes sure that she knows he feels the same. “Don’t keep anything from me thinking it’ll ruin the happy atmosphere of this kingdom, Amoreena would tell you that a castle is only as strong as its weakest brick. If you crack we all tumble.”
“My foundations are strong, if not Derek’s a renovator right?” She raised her eyebrows, making another joke. They were always going to be okay.
“Speaking of, how are we going to house all 12 of these children you plan on having?”
"We, smartie pants, we are having," she tosses the shower curtain out of the way then, stepping out and wrapping herself in a towel, “I was thinking we add a few more rooms, nanny and pop were always adding on to this place, it would be nice to fix it up a bit.”
“I can see if Derek wants to help, or we can find a contractor?”
“Well, Alli still has another 8 weeks till her baby comes, so you might as well do something with Derek here in that time,” she agrees with a smile, “my nanny left everything to me, so I have a decent amount saved still for whatever you guys think the house can handle, I just want it done safely, and it has to match.”
She was bossy, he loved every second of it. “Yes ma’am,” he smiles as he steps out, drying off beside her.
Y/N couldn’t stop smiling at him as she watched him fluff his curly wet hair in the mirror, “how would you like to go out and get our first kid a big sister present before the graduation?”
“We never had a chance to read on Saturday, would you want to get her a big sister book and read at the tree?” Spencer suggests, making eye contact with her reflection in the mirror, even backwards she’s beautiful.
She nods with a smile, “sounds great, daddy.”
He wraps his arms around her before she can leave the room, kissing her neck and shoulder as she squirms, trying to get away from him but failing on purpose. “Spencer, seriously we have to go.”
“Then don’t call me daddy,” he whispers in her ear, and he can physically feel the way it excites her.
“We will revisit this later,” she says with a stern look as she pulls away finally, dropping the towel on purpose as she walks towards her new closet.
She was going to be the death of him, and hopefully, that wasn’t for a long time. Hopefully, he thought right then and there, that the moment he finally does die, he dies is beside her. Happily in his sleep, as they’re in their 90’s, and in a perfect world she’d slip away with him.
“Can I ask a dumb question?” He rushes the words out, taking her up on that offer of hearing all the bad thoughts.
“Always,” she smiles.
“When we get to heaven, stay with me? Pick me instead of Stephen for the forever part?” He’s not sure why he’s crying, or why he’s thinking about it. But it’s where his mind went and she said she’d always follow.
She tilts her head to the side, dropping her shoulders as she sighs, “we can set Stephen and Maeve up with each other.”
It makes him smile, she always knew what to say. “Who knows, they could be the reason all this happened.”
She nods then, “I like the thought of that, they deserve to be happy together, I’m sure they would like each other.”
He really believed they were soulmates then, that something bigger set up all these dominoes and he was so excited to watch them fall. To see where they landed, the beautiful pattern that they would reveal. The wonderful world he was creating with her was always going to be amazing because something greater than them said so.
She looked more beautiful than he’s ever seen her as they rolled up to the school. She was physically glowing, her hair was perfect, her dress laid over her stomach in the right way that he could see proof she was with child, even if she called it leftovers from the last one. It was his favourite part of her, it was where she made the best person they knew.
They walked around to the back gate, hand in hand, smiling wide as they walked into the little classroom. There were balloons and streamers everywhere, they had little cupcakes all set up and all of them were in matching blue caps and gowns.
Amoreena waved at them when she saw them, not allowed to leave her seat from where they were practicing their ceremony. It was unbelievably adorable, Spencer couldn’t help but be that Dad who took a million photos on his cellphone. He was never going to miss another moment.
JJ wrapped her arm around him sneakily, startling him as she hugged him, “hello Spencer Reid, father and husband,” she teased him. “Still weird thinking of you as a dad.”
He wanted to tell her, but she’d know soon anyway once she saw the all about me project, “shit,” Y/N says from behind him as she realizes too. “Tell her.”
“We’re having another one,” Spencer whispers in JJ’s ear before she can even react.
She smacks his side as she pulls back, staring at him with her mouth wide open. The same face Henry made when he saw Y/N for the first time, completely shocked and nervous, “oh my god?”
He nodded, “we’re not telling anyone, I was supposed to find out on her all about me project but she didn’t want me to pass out in front of all the kids.”
It made JJ laugh, shrugging as she agreed with the idea, she pulled away from him and wrapped Y/N up in her arms, hugging her ever so softly. Y/N closed her eyes and pressed their cheeks together as she accepted the thank you, knowing JJ was just happy to see Spencer succeed.
She placed a hand on Y/N’s tummy before pulling away fully, “I always hoped I’d see the day where Spencer made a little genius, I still can’t believe Amoreena is his sometimes, that hasn’t really hit me yet, but this… this is real. I’m so happy for you.”
Y/N cried a little, wiping her eyes as she laughed it off, “okay, sorry this is a big day for me, my first baby is graduating, this baby is trying to grow a heartbeat, it’s all a lot.”
“I get it, believe me,” JJ agreed, placing her hand on Y/N’s lover back and holding her close to her side. Bonding in that moment, making Spencer’s heart swell.
“Where’s the cowboy?” She changed the subject, looking for Will.
“Oh there’s a case in Kentucky, I missed Henry’s graduation, so I’m here for Michaels while he’s on the case, it’s only fair,” she explained with a smile, content with how their life and relationship worked.
“Do you want to sit with us?” Y/N offered, pointing at the folding chairs, taking a seat with JJ in the front, sitting between her and Spencer so she could talk to both of them before the ceremony.
It was lovely having them become friends, his first love and the last one he'd ever have.
They passed out tissues (thank god) before the ceremony, Y/N and Spencer both using at least 5 as they watched Amoreena get her tiny scroll of paper, move the string on her hat to the other side and then wave at them. Spencer took at least 100 photos of her, unable to stop how proud he felt that he made her.
What Amoreena failed to mention was that she was chosen to be the class valedictorian, surprising them with a tiny speech at an even tinier podium. It was so cute, both Spencer and JJ recorded it to remember for later.
“My class chose me to talk to everyone because I’m the oldest, lots of my classmates like to think of me as an older sister,” she smiled right at her parents, hinting at the fact she knew when she thought Spencer didn’t yet.
So he played along, looking surprised at the word choice.
“I’ve had the best two years with all my friends in this classroom, Miss Kennedy was the nicest women they could pick to make sure we learned everything we need to before grade school starts,” her words were definitely chosen by her, possibly reworded by her teacher but definitely from her heart.
“My mom taught me the alphabet, she taught me how to spell and count, she taught me lots of things that miss Kennedy taught in here, at first it was hard being the kid who knew more, but then it was fun getting to help everyone else learn,” she continued with the most enthusiastic voice, going off-script as she thought of more. “My dad, though, he’s taught me how special our family is. How special it is to get to meet new people and learn about the world with them, I’m so glad my parents made me so I could learn with all of you these past 2 years.”
All the parents were crying, she was able to touch the hearts of everyone around her. At the age of 7, she was more well-spoken, more understanding and grateful than any of the adults in that room.
“I’ll see you all on the big kid yard next year!” She cheered, jumping up and down and clapping, all her friends rushed to the stage for a big group hug.
His little girl was so unbelievably loved, the way she deserved.

MHA Males Proposal Headcanons
A/N: Denki, Izuku and Bakugou are all aged up and pro heroes
Characters: Bakugou Katsuki, Izuku Midoriya, Denki Kaminari, Aizawa, and Kurogiri Bakugou (Art Credit to quirked on instagram)
Tumblr media
Bakugou and you have been dating for about 2 and a half years now and Valentine’s day was just around the corner. Normally Bakugou and you would stay inside for Valentine’s day, him cooking you a nice homemade romantic dinner before cuddling up in your bed together and hitting the hay. But this Valentine’s day, Bakugou decided to do a complete 180 on you. This year he took the whole day off instead of taking his usual morning/half day shift. He made you a nice breakfast in bed with bacon, eggs and waffles. He slept in with you and cuddled you until you properly woke up. The two of you then went downtown and, despite how much he hates it, goes to mall and goes shopping with you. Whatever you want he got you. Bakugou does his best to avoid paparazzi and fans, his complete attention being on you and only you. After your fancy shopping spree, Bakugou takes you out to get your favorite lunch. He does his best to control his temper that day, especially towards the paparazzi. After the long day out, Bakugou takes you to the spot you two first meet. He had actually been the one to save you from a villain attack at Ueno Park. The sun had just begun to set as he gently takes your hand and the two of you lock eyes. “Listen Y/N, I know I don’t have the best temper and I don’t always treat you perfectly and how you deserved to be treated because of that but I love you Y/N. You are my everything. You are the best spouse anyone could ask for.” He says as he moves to get on one knee while pulling out a dark blue velvet box and opening it to reveal a giant diamond ring. “Will you marry me?”  Izuku (I couldn’t find any credit for the art image, sorry)
Tumblr media
You and Izuku have been dating for a little over a year now and now everyone in the press was wondering when Izuku was gonna actually pop the question. It stressed him out a bit thinking about if it was too soon, when he should do it, where he should do it? Izuku had Saturdays off from his hero job and most days he would spend inside with all his attention on you. He didn’t feel like going out most days because he didn’t want to be bothered by paparazzi and fans, despite how much he adored his fans. Today was different though. It was a hot summer's day and the apartment was so hot it felt like an oven. Izuku decided that maybe the two of you should go out. As he was changing and getting ready, he remembered his engagement sitting inside his bedroom drawer, which he was just glad you hadn’t found while cleaning. He quickly grabbed the ring and headed out the door with you. Izuku took you to a big amusement and the two of you spent the day getting junk food, going on rides and just enjoying each other’s company. Luckily, many fans recognized he wished to be alone and respected his wishes though some little kids did run up to him as soon as they saw his face. Towards the end of the day when you were about to go home, Izuku suggested one last ride, a boat log ride, a simple one like it’s a small world at disneyland. Towards the end of the ride though, Izuku turned to you, knowing the cameras were coming up. “Y/N I love you so much, will you marry me?” He asked keeping it simple as he pulled out the ring box and opened it just in time for the picture. Izuku bought the photos right afterwards to have in the future before looking at the ring on your hand more closely. “The ring looks good on you.” He said quietly once you two got in bed for the night. He gave you a gentle kiss on the head. “Goodnight my future spouse.” He said and smiled at you before both of you went to bed Denki (Credit to KayDeeFox on Twitter)
Tumblr media
While Denki is not a top 10 pro hero, that doesn’t mean the media wasn’t interested in his love life, especially considering Denki loved to give his S/O a ton of public affection(Hope you don’t mind PDA with this one). Denki is also super popular and you bet he posts everything on social media and I mean everything. He has gotten in trouble a few times with his agency for leaking private info about upcoming missions and such. So needless to say, Denki is very public about his attraction to you and how much he loves you. It’s sweet if you don’t mind that he can be clingy and whiny when you don’t give him a ton of attention. It’s right around your 1 year anniversary and Denki is head over heels in love with you. So much so that his close friends, mainly Mina and Kirishima, encouraged him to propose to you then. He got your favorite non fast food food and Mina helped him get the dining room set up all fancy while Kirishima and Sero went out and got romantic flowers on Denki’s behalf. The three friends had to be super quick, not knowing when you would get home from work, but none of the decoration/planning looked messy. Denki was a nervous wreck though. He took the roses from Kirishima and Sero and sighed as he waited for you to get home. Luckily it didn’t take you too long to get home. Denki quickly slapped on a happy smile for you and gave you a big hug before handing you the flowers. “You look super hot today, Y/N.” Denki said with a wink as he guided you over to the fancy table. After the two of you talk about your day and problems and had your dinner, Denki took the box out of his pocket, without you seeing it. Denki walked over to you. “I know we’ve only been dating for a year Y/N, but I love you a lot. Will you marry me?” After you accept of course, Mina, Kirishima, Sero, Denki and you all go out to get some celebratory dessert. Aizawa (Credit to lani on Twitter)
Tumblr media
Aizawa and you have been dating for a while now, and I mean a while. You and Aizawa started dating 6 years ago. Aizawa has always loved you and he always will but this man has serious commitment issues. This man has had the ring for 3 months but nothing. He hasn’t said a damn word about marriage. He tries to do it on multiple occasions, even Christmas but nothing. Then one random weekend day, Aizawa gets up, makes you nice pancakes and just pops the question. “Would you marry me if I asked you?” You almost choke on your pancakes at the question. Of course you say yes though. Aizawa takes out a little red box and hands it to you. He isn’t trying to not be romantic but again this man has commitment issues and if you reject him now it won’t be a waste of time. The diamond ring is expensive and beautiful. He paid a lot for the ring but didn’t say anything about the cost to you. Once he notices you crying, he rushes over to your side concerned. “Did you not like the ring? Was it not as romantic as you wanted? Do you want to start over?” He asked, rambling about it was ok before you pulled him into a hug and told him you loved it. This man has never had such emotional whiplash before over one simple sentence, from you no less. Aizawa gave you a small smile and held you before helping you put on the ring. “I love you.” Kurogiri
Tumblr media
You and Kurogiri have been dating for 3 and a half years, taking things nice and slow, neither of you in a rush to get married or have children or anything like that. This is both your second christmas you have both spent together. The two of you enjoying each others company without worrying about the LOV, because let's face it you two are the only functioning adults in that place.  You both love each other a lot and spend a ton of time with one another. You two just had an amazing christmas dinner with ham and mashed potatoes and wine. Now it was time for gift opening. Kurogiri relaxed with you on the white leather couch as you two spent time opening gifts from the different LOV members and then it was time for his and your gifts to one another. Kurogiri opened your present first and then there was his. A tiny box wrapped it penguins that are ice skating wrapping paper. After you take the wrapping paper off, Kurogiri waits there anxiously. He hasn’t felt that way with you in a while. Once you open up the box, Kurogiri gives you a nervous smile. “Will you marry me?” He asks simply as he took the box and got on one knee. A bit unconventional, which was unusual for the old fashioned traditional lover that Kurogiri was, but it got the point across and you accepted, leaving Kurogiri a blushing and smiling mess

Were you supposed to be using the kindergarten enrollment forms to sus out potential cute, single parents? No, definitely not.
But the process of going through the individual forms and comparing them to the database for possible clerical errors was tedious at best, and grueling at its worst. Sitting on those tiny kindergarten chairs, you and the other four members of your team of teachers had already rehashed all of the gossip from the summer, including how Jessica the first year teacher from the 3rd grade cohort had hooked up with that sleazy geometry teacher from the high school at the end of the year district-wide social last May.
“God, I remember when he was student teaching at the middle school,” Dora, your most senior coworker who had ‘been around the block a few times’ and also held onto every piece of gossip that circulated in your district for the last 17 years, drawled, “He had the grossest little rat mustache, you could hardly tell him apart from the 8th graders!”
The group laughs in response to that joke, always ready to make of the holier-than-thou high school teachers. “You know what?” Dora adds, “You’d think after so many years, I’d be used to these tiny fucking chairs, but I am not. I need a walk and a Diet Coke.”
“I’ll join you!” chimed Joanne, the second-oldest teacher in your cohort. The two leaders of your team left the room, leaving you, Claudia, and Andrés, the youngest teachers in the kindergarten cohort. Andrés and you had gone through your credential program together and had known each other for upwards of five years now as best friends. When the two of you arrived at Franklin Elementary, fresh out of school, Claudia had just completed her first year so she welcomed more young teachers with open arms. The three of you have been inseparable for the past several years now.
“Okay, pull out your stacks!” Andrés orders, citing your group’s earlier plan to use this menial labor to check for potential single parents. You were just looking on the forms to see who did not have both parents listed. It wasn’t a perfect system. And yeah, it was probably inappropriate but y’all were just messing around and killing time on this sweltering August day.
“I have one in my class!” you offer. “Student: Grace Miller. Parent: Susan Miller. Occupation: Landscape architect.”
“Oooo, intriguing. Love someone who works with their hands,” Claudia remarks in a silly, sultry voice. “I have one, the student is named Peter, mom is Karen. She’s an accountant.”
“I don’t like the sound of that. Karen? Yeah no thank you. Glad she’s in your class, not mine.” Andrés laughs and you join him. Kindergarten was just as much of a transition for students as it was for parents, and sometimes they took it harder than the kids. “Here’s to hoping she doesn’t live up to her name...” he continues, “Ooh, I have one! He's single dad--”
Oooh, you and Claudia purr.
“Rosalia Morales is the daughter of single dad Francisco; form says he's a small business owner,” Andrés presents this crown jewel piece of information to a round of applause from you and Claudia.
“Ugh, let’s hope he’s cute!” Claudia adds and the three of you dissolve into giggles as the older women  return from their Diet Coke run.
—X—
Rosalia Morales was ready for kindergarten. Frankie Morales, on the other hand, was not.
The younger Morales had spent the first weeks of August carefully preparing for this new (and very important) chapter in her life. She carefully deliberated over decisions like what backpack and lunchbox to get from Target (she chose a matching Sofia the First set, so that it could be a topic of conversation for her and her potential new friends at school) to what she was instructing her father to pack in her lunchbox (no PB&J’s in case her new friends were allergic, she wanted to be able to sit at the same lunch table with them and not have these seminal weeks defined by the separation of Peanut vs Peanut free lunches). Rosalia was very meticulous, and she always had been. She was well-prepared to face all the challenges kindergarten wanted to throw at her.
While Rosalia had spent weeks preparing, Frankie had spent weeks dreading the imminent separation from his favorite person in the universe. Yes, he had sent Rosalia to preschool and pre-K but those had all been half-day programs. He would drop her off on his way to work and then pick her up at lunchtime. That only meant four hours apart but full-day Kindergarten was drop-off at 7:45am and pick up at 3:30pm. Seven and a half hours. How am I going to do it? he thought to himself.
—X—
At Franklin, they implemented a very specific first day schedule. Parents walked their kids to their classrooms to hang up their bags, then the students got to go play on the playground while the parents left. The older teachers designed this system to reinforce to the students that school = fun. Yes, of course there were always students who had a rougher first day, but it usually took a couple of hours for the fatigue to set in before the students realized how long the day (and year was going to be).
This system most importantly allowed for a clean break with the parents, a solid ‘goodbye!’ point that the teachers could enforce. But, always, there were some straggler parents (either loitering inside, near the front door or in their cars in the parking lot). The administrative team would let the indoor stragglers know that it was time to leave, but they would have two of the teachers go into the parking lot to make sure all the parents had cleared out.
This year, you and Claudia had pulled those short straws, so while the rest of your team monitored the early recess, you two roamed the parking lot with reassuring waves and “I’m sorry, it’s district policy, you have to leave the parking lot after drop off.” Everyone usually took it graciously—it’s like ripping off a band-aid, it’s better to just get it done.
You had almost cleared the lot of loitering vehicles when you came upon an older, red truck with a man inside it. His window was down so you began to speak to him a little before he noticed you, causing him to jump.
“Hi, I'm one of the teachers in the Kindergarten cohort," you say as you run your bare left hand through your hair. “Are you a parent?”
As he turns to look at you, you can notice that even with his cap pulled low, he has definitely been crying a little. “Hey, yes sorry. I’m Frankie Morales, Rosalia’s dad,” the man stammers, “I’m sorry, I know the policy, I think I’m just having a little bit of separation anxiety.” HIs brown eyes look a little bloodshot as he gives you a half-hearted smile.
You search his face and see no traces of dishonesty, this is just a man very nervous to be sending his kid to school. And a cute one at that too. Claudia called it, you think.
Before you can let your mind wander too far about this stranger, you have to say something. “Mr. Morales...” you start.
“Please call me Frankie. Mr. Morales is my dad,” he interjects nervously.
“Okay, Frankie,” you say. “I understand how nerve-wracking sending your kid to school can be. I may not be a parent myself, but I can empathize. But I can also offer to you that in my years in kindergarten, I’ve never seen a student not adjust to the classroom,” you offer.
“But I also understand that our anxieties can be irrational and don’t like when presented with things that might undermine them. So it’s okay to still be nervous or anxious right now,” you add. “Do you think there’s something that I could do to help you feel better about leaving school property in the next ten minutes or so?” you smile a little to help this last bit come off as nice as possible.
“I…” he mumbles, “I… I’m not sure, my parental intuition is telling me that something will happen in the middle of the day and it’ll take me too long to get here, which I know isn’t going to happen but… I’m worried that I won’t be able to be enough for her”
“You worry because you care, and I can already tell that you care about her a lot. Hey, like I said, our worries don’t have to be rational to get at us.”
“She’s just all I have, she’s the center of my universe,” he adds. With this, you can see the shift in his eyes, from worry to love. You can tell that he loves his daughter with his whole heart.
“Rosalia is in Andrés', I mean, Mr. Gonzales’s class, right?”
“Yeah, she is.”
“I think I might have a solution, a little band-aid just for today,” you bid and Frankie looks hopeful. “This is very much against district policy so you have to promise not to tell on me.”
He laughs with this, and promises not to tell. “How about I give you my phone number, and any time that your fatherly intuition is telling you that something bad is going to happen, you can text me and then I’ll peek across the hall to Rosalia’s classroom, and I can factually assure you that nothing bad is happening?”
Frankie actually smiles, for the first time in this whole conversation, “That would be great,” he says.
—X—
As you knew would happen, the day passed without incident. Frankie didn’t even text you, which you felt good about. But also a little sad because you wanted to start a little texting thing with this single dad. But you knew it would be a little inappropriate, in your heart of hearts.
After all the students get picked up, Claudia and Andrés migrate into your classroom.
“Don’t you think the first day of school calls for a celebratory drink out this afternoon?” Andrés probes. He always was down for happy hour (and to be truthful, you were too). “We should go to the brewery down the road, they have some nice outdoor seating.”
“I’m in,” you state, “And I may or may not have some other good news..” you tease.
“What? What good news could have happened in a room full of 6 year-olds?” Claudia jokes.
“Y’all can’t tell anyone but I got the phone number of that single dad from Andrés’s class,” you say as quickly as you can.
Claudia and Andrés both break into shrieks with this news.
“Oh my god, I can’t believe our prowling on the enrollment forms WORKED!!” Andrés exclaims.
“He was nervous at drop off so I gave him my number but he didn’t end up texting me, so nothing will probably ever come of it. But still, small win in my book.”
Claudia throws her head back, “You deserve all the wins you get, whatever happens, we’re psyched for you.”
Later, during happy hour you check your phone and notice a new text from an unsaved number.
Hey, thanks for your help this morning, having this line of communication made me feel a lot better. Rosalia had a great day today. -Frankie
You try to keep your facial expressions minimal as you read the message. They don’t need to know about this, you think to yourself before shooting back a quick message.
That makes me so happy Frankie. Feel free to reach out whenever you need! About whatever :)
You add that last line hastily and hit send. I can thank this liquid courage for that, you think as you down the rest of your pint.

If you are still taking Robin/Julian prompts, can I please get some fluff with the two of them teaming up to play online chess and talking smack about their opponent?
i hope u enjoy this!! sorry its taken a little while for me to get done, i hope its kind of what u had in mind?? trying to write dialogue for julian is very difficult but i hope its okay!! if anyone has any more robin/julian prompts feel free to send them to me :)
i don't believe this has any spoilers for s3, but if u r super worried, this is written through the lens of having seen season 3, so there may be subtleties or something but i dont think so?
---
Chess had been Julian and Robin’s “thing” for as long as Julian had been at Button House, give or take a few days. They would spend hours sitting at the chess board, initially attempting to teach Robin the basics of the game, and then later trying to keep in their minds the placements of all the pieces as they played.
The board that had sat for years, when Heather owned the house, untouched and gathering dust, had been a host for years of memories, chronicling so many of the major points in what was shared between them, from the very beginning, when Julian had died and Robin had first elected to take part in the game, to now, with Alison and Mike in the house, shaking up their routines completely. It seemed to Julian that all of the most important moments in his death could somehow be linked back to that chessboard.
As such, it made sense that the both of them were resistant to change. The idea seemed sacreligious, almost, and although that would usually push Julian in favour of something, this all felt entirely wrong to him. Alison’s offer to let them leave the table where Julian had first learnt of his ability, the pieces Robin had learnt to play with, although tempting, had initially seemed too much.
Vaguely surprisingly, it was Robin who came around first; possibly it was the man’s familiarity with change - nothing much was left the same over the thousands of years he had lived on the land of Button House - or maybe it was just the intrigue offered by the prospect of the online medium, but after a brief consideration, he was more than willing to give Alison’s suggestion a try - and to pester Julian about it.
“We make good team,” he explained one evening, as they sat in one of the sitting rooms, enjoying the ambiance of the fire, “And we can both win game then!”
Julian did have to concede that he had a point there, but despite how much he enjoyed utilising Alison’s new technologies, he couldn’t quite find himself willing to let go of their little chess board, no matter how ridiculously sappy and pathetic it sounded. The temptation to try this online chess game was strong, but Julian couldn’t. He just couldn’t.
“You just want to make all this extra work for me, don’t you,” he whinged, “Of course you’d go along with it, it's nothing to you!”
He didn’t even have to look to see Robin’s eyeroll.
“You as whiny as Thomas.”
Julian screwed his face up at the idea, before dramatically falling onto Robin, spreading himself out across the couch, his head in the caveman’s lap.
“I guess I can possibly consider doing this,” he groaned dramatically, and Robin couldn’t help but shake his head - he really was becoming far too much like the poet.
Nevertheless, however, he smiled down at Julian, who still had a ridiculously put out expression on his face.
“Love you.”
--
Julian didn’t like admitting he was wrong, but despite the awful cramps he was getting in his hand, if he were being honest, this was awfully fun.
He was still unsure if it was as good as playing against Robin, trying to keep up with where all the pieces had been moved, but it certainly had proven to be fun, so far at least, to play with him instead. It was nice to shake things up a bit, he figured, after 30 odd years of almost daily games, something new was nice.
“Take his prawn!” Robin exclaimed from next to him, animatedly pointing at the screen.
Obligingly, Julian agreed, wincing as he clicked the touchscreen to move the piece. “This is the last game for today, okay? This is hard work for me!”
“You not know hard work if it right in front of you,” Robin muttered, unhappy at the thought of losing his new favourite hobby for the rest of the day.
Before Julian had even had the chance to respond indignantly to that comment, Robin interjected,
“Dickhead!”
When Julian returned his focus to the screen, he saw that their opponent had taken their queen. Yeah, dickhead sounded about right.
The pair spent a moment in silence, staring analytically at the screen, contemplating their next move, calculating their next step. As the timer on the side of their screen continued to count down, Julian’s eyes widened in realisation and he began attempting to click the screen. When he saw what Julian was trying to do, Robin let out a pre-emptive celebratory cheer.
“Checkmate! We win!”
And sure enough, after a couple of attempts where his hand passed through the screen, when Julian managed to move the piece, the screen lit up with the message that they’d won.
“Aha! I told you, not just a handsome face!”
Robin rolled his eyes, but nonetheless, raised his hand, grinning, and Julian high fived him, somewhat reluctantly, because he knew what was going to happen next - the caveman was, if nothing else, predictable.
“We play again?” He asked, looking hopefully at Julian and he grimaced, both from the pain because his hands really were cramping really quite badly, and because he knew, as much as he prided himself in his ability to act in his own self interest, that he wouldn’t be able to say no to Robin.
“Genuinely though, one more game. That’s it, or you have to make Alison come and press all these buttons for you because my hands can not take any more of this! I am a respected politician, and will not stand for being treated like your slave, pressing all these buttons for you… I guess that is the burden of being the most skilled…”
Robin let Julian’s ranting and raving blend into the background for a moment, before deciding he had most definitely had enough - jabbing him in the ribs with his elbow proved to be a good enough solution to that problem.
Before Julian could start on a whole new tangent about his deserved respect, Robin gestured to the screen, reminding him of what was actually important.
“Game on!”

Supercorp, Kara Danvers x Daughter!Reader, Lena Luthor x Daughter!Reader
Word count: 2780.
“You know we just have to make, like, a volcano or something stupid like that, right?” Jamie asks you while you two walk to L Corp after school.
“I know, but what’s the fun in that?” You stop at a street food truck to buy something. “Do you want one?” Jamie agrees with her head. “Can I have five hot dogs, please?”
“I don’t want to have fun. It’s a school science fair. Normal people make potato clocks.” Jamie goes back to the subject and you agree with your head.
“Normal people can’t make robot dogs or a time machine.” You wink at her then goes back to pay for the hot dogs. “Thank you.” You give her one and you two resume walking. “Come on, we can make anything you can imagine. And we have an entire lab for that, so think big. Bigger than you’ve ever thought.”
“Fine, ok.” Jamie is still in the first bite of her hot dog and you already ate two. “How about we make a mind reader?”
“Ok.” It’s actually not a bad idea. It will make things easier for you because of the thought blocker.
“What’s going on here? Is this a field trip or something?” Jamie asks looking at five people in the lobby that look way too young to work there. But they are wearing lab coats and they all have IDs.
“I don’t know.” You mumble and look at the receptionist. “Hey Aly, I brought my cousin with me today. Did mom hire some new people?”
“Yes, those are the new interns.” Aly points and you agree with your head. You make your way inside so you can go to the labs, when you see that Jamie is not following you.
“Jamie! Let’s go!” You yell and she finally looks back at you. She follows you to the elevator and as soon as the doors close and you two are alone she starts talking.
“That intern with the blue shirt is way too cute.” She says and you roll your eyes. “Honestly, you never help me with anything. You are practically the boss here. You could just go and make him hang out with me or something.”
“You’re crazy. I don’t even work here.” You say opening the door to your lab and she looks inside.
“You don’t work here and yet you have this lab all to yourself.” She rolls her eyes, throwing her backpack close to yours and walking to one of the computers. “Come on, little Danvers, you’re going to have your fun with this project, let me have my fun.”
“Ok, fine.” You agree with your head. And make your way back to the door. “Don’t break anything. I’ll be right back.”
You go to the lobby again. You’re not sure what you’re going to say, but you know you have to try something or Jamie won’t let you work on your project for the science fair. You get close to the interns and you don’t even have to introduce yourself, because all of them know exactly who you are.
“Oh my God, you’re Lena Luthor’s daughter.” One girl says and you smile embarrassed. “Your mom is a legend! Are you smart like her?”
“Not like her. So, um, what are your names?” You ask and they all introduce themselves. The guy Jamie was looking is called Luke. “Ok, do you all have assignments?”
“Get coffee, don’t touch anything you can break, and try to learn something.” The five of them say almost at the same time and you laugh.
“Great! Oh, um, Luke right?” You point at him and he agrees with his head. “I could use some muscles at my lab, if you don’t mind helping?”
“Oh no, not at all!” He says and you wave goodbye to the others and go back to the elevator with him on your tail. “So, you have your own lab?”
“Yeah, kinda.”
“You must be pretty smart then.” Luke gives you a smile and you shrug as your answer. You don’t say anything else. “So, what are you making?”
“Oh, my cousin and I have to work on something for the school science fair.” The elevator doors open and you make your way to the lab. “I think you’re going to like her, actually.”
“Oh, really? Why is that?”
“She’s pretty.” You smile and he laughs like he can’t believe you just said that.
“Well, if she is anything like you.”
You squint your eyes at him. Poor thing, thinks flattery will get him places. Honestly Jamie can do much better.
“Ok, here we are.” You walk in and Jamie stands up quickly to greet him. “Jamie, Luke. Luke, Jamie.”
It’s a confusion of ‘hey’, ‘hi’, ‘hello’ and ‘how are you?’ after that and you just wait until they’re both done smiling and flirting.
“So, you mentioned you needed muscles?” He turns back at you and you agree.
“That box is kind of heavy, and we’re just two weak little girls.” You say ironically, and you look at Jamie who hides a smile. He picks up the box and puts in the middle of your table. After that you just focus on work while they talk and kind of flirt with each other.
You’re almost done with the math when Luke goes to your side to see what you’re working on. Apparently, they already ran out of things to say. You try to explain to him what you’re doing, but you find out he is majoring in chemistry, so this is not really his area of expertise.
“Hey girls!” Lena opens the door to your lab, making Luke jump on his seat and Jamie scream in surprise. “Did I come in at a bad time?” She looks at you, then she arches her brow to the boy next to you. You haven’t seen this look too many times, but Lena looks like she is really suspicious. You shrug.
“We’re just working on the science fair project.” You explain and she comes closer.
“And you are?” Lena asks Luke, while staring him right into his soul. You roll your eyes thinking this is very lame and unnecessary.
“Luke! I mean, I-I work here? As an intern? I was just hired.” He says visibly scared, and you hear his heartbeat going crazy. Lena doesn’t answer, so he adds. “Please, don’t fire me.”
“Fire you?” She gives him a smirk. “Why would I fire you? I don’t believe you were doing anything wrong.” Her face goes back to a frown. “Were you, Luke?”
“No! No ma’am. Not at all.” He stands up from the chair. “I should-I have to go!” He stumbles his way to the door. “Nice to meet you, girls.”
“Goodbye Luke.” Lena is the one who answers and you look at Jamie whose eyes are as big as they can get. Lena goes back to you when the door closes behind him. “What was an intern doing here?”
“He came to help with the box.” Jamie says pointing at the box in front of her. “It was heavy.”
“Heavy?” Lena smirks again. “You mean to tell me that, that scrawny looking boy could carry this box, and my half Kryptonian daughter couldn’t?”
Jamie doesn’t answer. You also don’t say anything and Lena seems to understand that it had nothing to do with the box. She doesn’t push any further. She asks what you are working on, and helps you a little. But Lena can’t stay long, she lets you and Jamie work and go back to her own work.
“Do you think she will fire him?” Jamie asks you after Lena leaves and you shake your head.
“No, of course not.” You grab a few things inside the box. “Ok, let's put this together quickly, I’m hungry.”
“I’ve known you for sixteen years, and I’ve never seen you not hungry.” She laughs and you stick your tongue out at her. “Just don’t go so fast, if you finish today, we won’t have a reason to come here tomorrow.”
“It’s my lab, I always have a reason to come here.” You furrow your brows and Jamie rolls her eyes.
“My God, you’ll be single forever.” She takes the prototype out of your hands and makes her way to the door. “Come on, let’s go eat something. We’ll work on that later.”
You follow her because one: in your life you’ve learned not to argue with Jamie when she has an idea, and two: you can’t say no to food.
The next day, Jamie insists on cancelling the training with Alex, and her excuse is that you guys couldn’t finish the project on the day before. It’s true, you didn’t finish, because she didn’t let you, but you know she is making things a little harder than they actually are, just so she can go back to L Corp and see Luke.
You are not even inside L Corp yet when you see him. He was on a coffee run, judging by the number of cups he is currently balancing on his hands.
“Hi Luke.” Jamie puts her hair behind her ear, and uses her sweet voice.
“Oh. Hi. Hey.” He looks up like he is looking for something and you mimic his actions.
“You ok in there? Did you lose something in the sky?” You ask with a smile and he looks back to you.
“No! Nothing. I should really get going to give these to-well, yeah, um.” He nods. “Ok, bye.”
“Wow, your mom really scared him yesterday, didn’t she?” Jamie says furrowing her brows and you shake your head agreeing.
“C’mon. We have a lot to do.” You go to your lab and start working again. Jamie is “helping”. You gave her the shell and she is painting it to make it more stylish, or whatever. With your superspeed is a lot easier finishing things in record time. “Ok, I think I’m done. Do you want to try it?”
“Sure. Do it on me.” Jamie looks at you and you point the device at her, you put one earphone and turn it on. “God, I sure hope this works, I don’t want to have to do a volcano by myself like a five-year-old.”
“Don’t worry, you won’t.” You look at her and smile. “It works.”
“No way!” Jamie jumps excitedly, snatching it out of your hands. “Let me try.”
“It works. It always works. Should we get celebratory donuts?”
“Oh, dear God, stop thinking about food.” Jamie makes her way to the door. “Come on, let’s see what other people are thinking.”
“I don’t think this is appropriated.” You say following her.
“Then why would we even make this in the first place?” You can’t disagree with that, so you go to the lobby, and both you and Jamie take turns listening to other people’s thoughts and laughing.
“Hey, hey. Luke is over there. Go listen to his thoughts.”
“No. I have to see if he agrees to it first. Wait.” You go to him. “Hey Luke, our device is ready, can I test it on you?”
“What-You-I-ON ME?.” He freezes with his eyes wide open, and you furrow your brows. “Ok-No-Yeah-Ok.”
“Ok, you’re being really weird, Luke.” You say and you point your device at his face. “Just stand still and I’ll see if it works.”
It works. You know it works. You’ve tested with everyone on L Corp already, but Jamie needs to know if he likes her, so you have to do this. You turn on, and hear his thoughts loud as if he was saying them to you.
“Oh God, oh God. I don’t know what to do. If I stay here and Mrs. Luthor sees me with her daughter, she might fire me. But if her daughter tells her mom I didn’t want to help, she can also fire me. Or worse, she can ask Supergirl to follow me again. Supergirl won’t kill me, will she? No. The Supers don’t kill. She just might fly me to the other side of the Earth and leave me there. Shit, oh shit. I hope this device doesn’t work.”
“Weird.” You look at him pretending you’re not shocked with all the revelations. “I don’t think it’s working. I have to check my math. Thanks for your help, Luke!”
“Yeah, sure!” He squeaks looking relieved and you march into the elevator, but instead of going to the last floor down, you go to the last floor up. You lower your glasses and you see Lena is in her office alone, working on her computer.
“Hey, mom!” You open the door before her assistant announces you.
“Oh, hey babygirl.” She smiles at you and stops typing. “Weird seeing you up here these days.”
“I know. We usually meet downstairs.” You sit on the chair in front of her. “So, where do you usually intimidate people? Downstairs or here in your office?”
“I’m sorry?”
“You threatened to fire Luke if he went around me again.” You point out with a smile.
“I did no such thing.” Lena crosses her arms, crosses her legs, and stares back at you with her most serious expressions. You two have a staring contest for a few seconds. You squint your eyes at her. She mimics you right after. You give her a little nod.
“Oh, this?” You point at the device on your hands. “I’m glad you’ve noticed. This is a mind reader. A simple variation of the unwelcome thought blocker. You see, I only had to change a few variables here and there. It’s for the school science fair.” You smile pointing the device at her. “Jamie’s idea, actually. And it works perfectly, wouldn’t you know.”
“Don’t you dare.” Lena says when she sees your mischievous smile and your finger hovering the power button.
“Then don’t lie.” You don’t lower the device until she sighs, looking defeated.
“I simply pointed out that you’re too young. He is a college student, much too old for you!” She says, breaking her CEO pose, and going into mom mode.
“And because of that you had momma follow him around National City.”
“I did not!” Lena defends herself immediately and you squint your eyes, not believing. “I told your momma that there was a guy at your lab, and she made the decision to follow him, herself. Not my fault she wanted to see for herself.”
“Why?”
Lena doesn’t answer, but you don’t need much to deduct it alone. You throw yourself back in the chair, feeling outraged.
“You think I like him.” You say matter-of-factly, but you expect her to deny this information anyway.
But she doesn’t. She doesn’t confirm nor deny, but her silence says too much. You can see it in her face. It’s absurd.
“You do! Dear Rao, you think I like him! And momma thinks that too.” You cross your arms to show her how upset you’re with this information. She looks at you posture, acknowledging it.
“And you don’t?” A single eyebrow is raised and you laugh.
“Don’t give me the eyebrow, young lady.” You try to mimic her tone of voice, and she smiles at that. “And I don’t. For your information is Jamie who likes him. She is the one who made me invite him to the lab, and she’s the one who’s making me pretend I couldn’t have finished the device in a day, so she can come back here to flirt.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah! That means you and Supergirl just terrified a boy for no reason!” You laugh at her, who looks way too worried to laugh with you, well aware of the fact that he is probably really terrified right now. “I can’t believe you and momma thought I liked him. Rao, you two think too little of me.” You stand up and make your way to the door. “That scrawny looking boy, really?”
“Well, in my defense…” Lena says and you wait by the door for what she has to say for herself. A few seconds go by with no defense, and you can see she’s working very hard on an excuse. “I have none.”
“Yeah you don’t.” You laugh, feeling proud of finally leaving your mom wordless. “Next time, maybe just ask me?”
“Sorry. I think we just got a little jealous.” Lena says, making you roll your eyes.
“A little? Supergirl literally followed him around the city.” You want to seem upset, but you actually laugh at that. “I’m not saying it isn’t hilarious, just unnecessary.”
It’s hilarious and kind of cute, but you’re not going to let them know that, in case they decide to do it again any time soon.

TEACH ME
Tumblr media
The lifeguard at the beach yesterday inspired me to write this...y’all tell me that’s 👆👆👆not JJ!!!!
Summary: The reader has to train a new lifeguard, a certain blonde who can’t seem to stop hitting on her.
Word count: 4.1k (Holy shit what did I do)
Warnings: Uh mentions of drowning, weed, fluff? Not much this is really just a sweet oneshot
Credit to @alexa-playafricabytoto for the killer idea...I don’t think I did it justice but here we go anyways 😂
DISCLAIMER: I don’t know shit about lifeguards and was too lazy to do research so this it’s extremely likely that this is HIGHLY inaccurate and I’m sorry about that but just go with it for fanfic purposes, eh?
“Hey, Y/N!” Mr. Rodriguez, your manager called out for you from his office in the beach’s visitor center. You had just clocked in, still in your jean shorts and tank.
You quickly walked over, popping your head in the doorway of his office. Seated in front of him, you noticed, was a blond in a red snapback, a Kildare County Marina T-shirt on. “Yeah, boss?” You asked.
He gave you a rare, sweet smile, gesturing for you to sit down.
Confused, you cautiously walked over, sliding into the empty chair beside the blonde boy. You felt him glance at you but you looked straight at your manager.
“So Kyle’s out on some family emergency this week…” Your manager started.
You scoffed inwardly but didn’t say anything out loud for the sake of being professional. Kyle’s family emergency was most likely him passed out and hungover after a night of drinking, smoking and a shit ton of coke or molly or acid or whatever he was taking these days.
“And seeing as he was your partner and was supposed to train the newbie,” Mr. Rodriguez continued, gesturing towards the boy beside you, “So meet JJ Maybank, your new partner until I decide he’s learned enough from you.”
Your beach’s lifeguards worked on a partner system, due to its size. There were always two lifeguards in every tower to maintain maximum security.
You tried not to groan. JJ Maybank? Of all the people in the world, you had to get stuck with the one notorious for recklessness, theft, and starting fights? Of fucking course, you did.
“Right,” You nodded, giving your manager a tight-lipped smile, maintaining your politeness while subtly letting him know you were not happy with the cards you had just been dealt.
Again, without looking at JJ, you stood up, your hands on your hips. “When do we start?” You asked.
“Right now.”
You nodded, turning on your heel and calling over your shoulder. “You coming, Maybank?”
You heard shuffling as he followed after your long strides. You grabbed a rescue buoy for yourself and tossed one to JJ, who caught it with ease. You walked toward the front desk, smiling at Cheri, one of the receptionists your own age who was always nice to you, letting you get away with things she probably shouldn’t have. Picking up two whistles, you walked out the door and finally greeted the boy.
“So you lifeguard now?”
He shrugged. “I do whatever to pay for my pot.”
You rolled your eyes, walking down the beach towards your assigned tower for the day. “I can respect that.”
“So there are a few things you should know,” You began, to which JJ listened intently.
“I figure Rodriguez has already been through the list of your duties?” You raised an eyebrow in question.
JJ nodded. “Thoroughly. He doesn’t think I’ve a single brain cell, that man. He tried to draw me a picture of the lifeguard tower.”
You held in a smile. “If you ask me, he’s right to think that,” you quipped, making JJ pout.
“Anyways, apart from that, you need to know a few other things that are kind of unwritten. For example, don’t bother telling people to get off the rocks, just be ready to save them if they fall.”
JJ wrinkled his brows. “The fuck kind of rule is that? Not even going to warn people?”
You shrugged. “Unless you want to make a scene with a bunch of Karens shouting at you for dictating rules on a public beach, then you’ll do as I say.”
JJ grumbled. ‘Yes, ma’am.”
“Bob your head every once in a while so you don’t miss the people right below you.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Keep the buoy on you wherever you go.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“And lastly, don’t ever think someone is faking anything. Doesn’t matter if your friend is pranking you, we gotta do what we gotta do. We have to save every last imbecile on this beach.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Frustrated, You turned towards him, stopping in the sand, one hand on your hip. “Oh, shut your trap with that ma’am nonsense, Maybank. Trust me, you lucked out with getting me as a partner over Kyle—”
JJ nodded. “I sure did, guy’s a total tool. Besides, hot girl over junkie guy,” he whistled low, “no debate there.”
You tried not to blush at JJ calling you hot, but you felt the tips of your ears turn pink.
“Right, well, you can’t be hitting on me while we’re working together, Maybank.”
“Why not?”
You stepped forward, poking him in the chest. “Because you’ve known me since we were kids, yet we’ve never spoken. So don’t go pretending that I’m not invisible anymore.”
JJ frowned.
You turned, “Come on, there’s work to do.”
One the two of you climbed up the tower, you put on your whistle and gestured for JJ to lean forward, so that you could toss it over his neck. He did so, accidentally knocking his forehead on yours. “Sorry,” he mumbled, stepping away.
As he settled in, you stripped your shorts and tank, now left in your ruby red lifeguard one piece.
Today was slow, being a Wednesday off-season, and JJ tried to start a conversation. He pulled out a joint and offered it to you.
You gave him an “Are you kidding me,” look and he shrugged, unbothered, lighting it up and taking a long hit. “So what’s Keith really doing if he’s not having a family emergency?”
“Kieth? You mean Kyle?”
JJ nodded. “Right, him.”
You laughed dryly, “Probably wrecked after popping ten too many pills and sleeping with a few too many girls. Guy doesn’t know when to stop.”
JJ didn’t look at you, looking out at the sea. “So when did you two break it off?”
“What—We—” You spluttered.
JJ took another long inhale from the joint. “It’s easy to see, babe.”
“I don’t think that’s any of your business,” you snapped, pulling down your sunglasses from atop your head, hoping to hide the emotions that were most definitely swimming in your eyes.
“S’not, I know,”
“Then why ask?”
“Just curious as to how a girl like you ended up with a douche like him.”
You were quiet for a moment, before you said, “He wasn’t always like this.”
“Only doing coke, not into molly yet?” JJ joked.
You chuckled. “No, not like that. He was incredibly kind, he had the biggest heart.” You fingered the wood on the arm of your chair.
“Then what happened?”
“Then his mom died, and I wasn’t enough.” Your hand retreated into your lap.
“He dump you?”
Your eyes narrowed. “No, I dumped him. I’m smart enough to know when I’m getting less than I deserve.”
JJ hummed. “I think I have a chance then.”
You laughed. “You’ve got nothing more than wishful thinking, Maybank.”
“Come to the kegger tonight. I’ll show you wishful thinking.”
You almost gasped at his forwardness. “No, you idiot.”
He turned towards you, meeting your eyes, pleading. You didn’t relent.
“Fine, miss, I’ll just let you keep that stick up your ass then.”
“I’m going to pretend you didn’t say that.”
When lunch came around, you let him go first, and when he returned, smelling of way too much weed, you asked, “You mind if I catch some waves? Think you can hold your own for a half hour?”
JJ gave a toothy grin. “Hell yeah, and watch you ride those waves? It’s going to be hard for me to watch anything but you.”
You smacked him over the head. “Do your job or we’ll both be in trouble, Maybank.”
You grabbed your board and climbed down, racing across the sand towards the water. Finally, you let yourself relax, sinking into the waves as they came. You even caught yourself doing a couple tricks, unconsciously trying to impress the blonde boy who was watching you from the tower. You felt high as a kite when you even managed to successfully execute several cutbacks in a row. You thought you heard a celebratory whistle from the direction of the tower and you jokingly gave a salute towards the beach.
As you climbed back up, JJ cheered. “Holy shit! I knew you were good, but god damn, Y/N! You gotta teach me how to do that Rodeo Flip! I’ve been trying to get it down for years!”
You laughed. “We’ll see, Maybank.”
His hands tugging at his hair in excitement, he asked, “How are you not going pro?!”
You shrugged. “I don’t do it for sport. It’s just something I do for me.”
JJ nodded, a renewed look of respect in his eyes. “Word.”
You spent the rest of your shift laughing at the ridiculous tourists on the beach, especially the ones that forgot sunblock.
You told JJ to go on ahead of towards the visiting center as you had a couple of things left to tidy up.
When you returned, he was chatting up Cheri, a thousand watt smile on her face as she enjoyed the attention from the pretty blonde.
You rolled your eyes, shoving past them to dump your equipment and clock out. You didn’t know what that bubbling feeling in your abdomen was, or why your stomach lurched at the thought of Cheri and JJ, or maybe you did, but you chose not to think about it too hard, afraid of the conclusion you’d come to.
As you walked out of the visitor center, turning towards home, you heard JJ call your name. You stopped, closing your eyes and muttering a silent prayer for the patience to deal with this boy.
He jogged out, making his way to you. “Hey!” He greeted, out of breath.
“Here to give me another half-assed invite to some kegger?” You asked.
JJ frowned, shaking his head. “No, I just wanted to clarify something you said this morning. You-You said that I thought you were invisible, because we’ve never spoken.”
“And?” you didn’t see where he was going with this other than to insult you.
“We’ve never spoken because I had the biggest crush on you Y/N. I’ve avoided you everywhere. You were hardly invisible to me. If anything, I didn’t think you saw me.”
You laughed. “Sure, Maybank.”
JJ shuffled his feet, shoving his hands in his pockets. “It’s true,” he mumbled.
You smiled, “Have fun at the kegger, JJ.” You gave him a peck on the cheek before walking off into the night, the darkness hiding your flaming cheeks.
You heard a celebratory whoop from behind you and bit your lip as you smiled.
Your heart felt light all week as you got closer to your partner. He was actually great at his job, especially with the children patrons on the beach, which greatly surprised you.
You remembered one day in the middle of the week, when you were dropping your equipment off, JJ didn’t have his whistle.
When you asked about it, he simply laughed. “This kid near the docks kept pestering me for it. Little guy wanted to be a junior lifeguard. Couldn’t say no…”
It was at the end of the week when you met his friends, the infamous, self-proclaimed pogues.
The trio had shown up near the end of your shift, claiming to be curious of the job that JJ actually managed to keep for longer than a day. JJ saw them approaching and immediately swore, turning towards you to say, “I’m going to apologize now for what you’re about to experience.”
Before you could ask what that meant, he had left, climbing down the towers to stop his friends from reaching you.
Confused, you made your way down, too, watching as a boy with shaggy brown hair clapped JJ over the back, ruffling his hair aggressively. “So this is what you’ve been missing out on pogue days for?”
A dark haired boy, who looked nervous about simply existing, added, “Not what, who,” nodding at you, standing with your arms crossed over your chest and an eyebrow cocked.
JJ had a permanent blush on his face, but you couldn’t puzzle out why. Meanwhile, you received a slightly reserved smile from the girl holding hands with the nervous boy. She waved politely.
The boy with shaggy hair marched forward, arms wide open to give you a hug. You thrust your hand out on instinct, which he looked at like a difficult algebra equation, before brushing it away gently and pulling you into his tight embrace. The boy gave great hugs, you had to admit. The kind of tight bear hugs you expect from your mom.
You laughed nervously, patting him on the back and looking over his shoulder at the other three, who all laughed. JJ mouthed I’m sorry at you and you responded with I’m going to kill you.
When he finally let you go, he tussled your hair and said, “Nice to meet the girl who’s got my boy tripping over his own feet to get to work. I’m John B.”
You flicked your eyes over to JJ, who was as red as a tomato. He buried his face in Pope’s shoulder, muttering something. You snorted. “Hardly. I’m Y/N.”
The dark haired boy grinned, “Trust me, we know. I’m Pope and this is Kie,” he introduced himself and what you assumed was his girlfriend.
In the next hour, you learned that JJ’s friends were loud, blunt and lacked basic manners in some ways, but they were youthful and thick as thieves, clearly a family.
There was something warm about Pope, something that allowed you to trust him immediately, completely. So when the other three were surfing, and he joined you on the sand, asking you, “So are you feelin’ my boy or what?”, you weren’t afraid to be completely honest.
Giving a short laugh at his bluntness, you admitted, “I don’t really know. There could be something there. There is something there, I think.”
“Then what’s stopping you?”
You would feel pathetic to confess this to anybody else, but Pope seemed like he wouldn’t judge you if you admitted to having three children. “I don’t know if we want the same things. I don’t see a guy like that in a serious relationship. Doesn’t seem like the type to settle.”
Pope grinned. “You know him well, then.”
Your heart fell as you thought that Pope was confirming your fears.
“But not well enough, I think. You’d be surprised. He’s kind of...obsessed with you. But not in the “Pokemon gotta catch ‘em all!” kind of way. He doesn’t see you as some sort of spiky eared Pichu…”
He trailed off and you looked at him, absolutely baffled. “I’m sorry...I don’t follow?”
Pope cleared his throat. “He likes you, Y/N, like really respects you and wants to make you happy. Any fool can see that.”
You were sure your entire body was on fire with how hard you flushed. “Oh.”
“Yeah, oh. Well, you keep him on his toes so we don’t mind. And it’s made him a little softer, a little more careful, which we definitely don’t mind. He needs to be checked, that one.”
Pope stood up, reaching his hand out and pulling you up. “Now, JJ tells me you have a killer cutback. Wanna show me?” He asks.
You give him a big smile, grateful for his kind words and ability to seamlessly bring you back to reality from that heavy conversation. “I’d love to. If you can keep up!”
Laughing, Pope followed you into the ocean, JJ giving you an excited smile as you joined him in the water, content to see you getting along with his family.
Later that night, when his friends left, and JJ was helping you towel off your hair while shaking his own like a wet dog, making you giggle and shriek at the sensation, he asked, “You wanna actually catch some waves outside of this beach sometime?”
It was your conversation with Pope earlier that gave you the confidence to say, “How about tomorrow? It’s our day off…”
“I’ll pick you up before dawn then?”
You nodded, “Sounds perfect.”
He tossed you your towel, casually throwing an arm over your shoulder as the two of you walked back to the visitor’s center.
The next morning, you were a mess. JJ had never seen you in anything aside from your lifeguard uniform and you nearly lost your mind trying to figure out what to wear. You felt like a middle schooler deciding what to wear on the first day of school to impress their crush.
Eventually, you thought to hell with it, and just went with a blue romper over your swimsuit, letting your hair down for once.
You didn’t bother with makeup since you were planning to get soaked anyways.
When you heard the distinct sound of a large engine approaching, you walked out of your house, curious.
When the image of JJ on a dirt bike came into focus, you couldn’t help the cackle that tittered out of your mouth.
He slowed down to a complete stop in front of your driveway, swinging his leg over and walking up to you, spinning the key ‘round his finger.
“Hey, dude!” He greeted, sweeping you up in an unexpected hug. Still, you melted into his frame, letting your usually rigid spine relax, feeling JJ nuzzle into your shoulder slightly and sighing.
You pulled away after a moment and JJ rubbed the back of his neck shyly, shuffling his feet awkwardly. “Sorry, I-uh, I really needed that today.” This boy was touch-starved.
You patted his chest as you walked towards the dirt bike. “S’alright, it happens to the best of us.”
JJ followed you. “You ever ridden one of these before?”
You cocked your head at him. “Oh yeah, all the time.”
He looked surprised, before handing you the keys and raising his eyebrows in challenge. “Prove it.”
You simply smirked and mounted the bike, pretending you didn’t hear JJ mumble “That’s hot,” under his breath. Instead, you started the engine and nodded at him to get on behind you.
JJ smiled before climbing on behind you, scooching forward until every inch of your back was flush against his front.
“Let’s go, babe!” You said, before taking off down the street.
JJ gave you directions, steering you into areas of the Cut you had never been, which was saying something since you knew this town like the back of your hand.
Finally, he pulled up to a small cove, where you saw a small patch of sand. It was the farthest land towards the sea, meaning you would probably find the biggest waves.
“Holy shit, how did I not know this place existed?”
JJ grinned, bringing you to a small shack where a couple of boards were hidden from view in the foliage.
He handed you a board. “I’m full of surprises. Your hair smells nice, by the way.”
“Stop that!” You laughed.
“Stop what?”
You slapped him over the head. “Making me blush.”
“Don’t think I will.”
You rolled your eyes and simply unzipped your romper, ignoring the whistle from JJ as you stepped out in only your swimsuit. You laid the fabric over the handle of his dirt bike and turned towards him. He was still in his T-shirt and swim trunks.
“Aren’t you going to take your shirt off?”
JJ gave a shit-eating grin, “My, my, Y/L/N, at least take a guy to dinner first.”
You shoved at his chest. “No, you dumbass, I meant you can’t surf in that.”
JJ opened his mouth as if to say something before pausing and wrinkling his nose. “It’s just not a good idea for me today.”
“What did you eat a little too much? I can promise I’m not afraid of a food baby, Maybank, I can deal.”
JJ tried explaining before just giving up and pulling his shirt off, leaving you shocked and incredibly confused, not to mention concerned.
Bruises littered his body, beginning at his shoulder and ending far below his ribs. Involuntarily, your hand brushed his skin. “What the fuck happened, JJ?”
He shrugged. “S’my Dad, you know. Gets angry sometimes is all.”
You shook your head sadly. “You don’t deserve that.”
JJ laughed darkly. “That’s up for debate.”
You stomped your foot. “No, it’s absolutely not! No one deserves that, especially not you.”
JJ softened. “You really think so?”
“Of course I do.”
He gave a small smile. “So you won’t make fun of me for not being able to keep up with you today? It’s only because I got my ass kicked, otherwise I’d surf circles around you all day.”
His words made you frown, but you recognized the coping mechanism and simply said, “Oh sure, Maybank. You know as well as I do that there’s not a world where you can surf better than me.”
He shrugged, walking towards the water. “I can sure as hell try, babe!”
Surfing with JJ was an experience on some whole other level. Sharing a wave was something even the most experienced surfers didn’t attempt, but something in you trusted JJ and the two of you tried it out. It was absolutely surreal, until JJ didn’t resurface.
Your euphoric smile quickly turned into a panicked cry. “JJ? JJ?!” You looked around and caught sight of him hanging on to his board, eyes closed. You swiftly untied your board from your ankle and swam over to him, pulling him towards you. He was like dead weight. You dragged him over to the shore and dumped him there, immediately leaning down to check his pulse.
You felt it clear as day, but tears filled your eyes. “JJ! Wake up!”
You began chest compressions immediately. Before you even got to ten, however, you heard a giggle.
Bewildered, you looked at his smiling face, his amused blue eyes laughing at you.
You instantly flinched away, retreating from him. “You were faking?”
JJ nearly choked on his laughter. “You-you should have—” He tried to breathe through the guffaws “—seen your face! Priceless!”
You slapped at his chest with your fists as he sat up, ignoring his slight winces given his prior injuries. “Ay, ay what’s up with that! Stop it, Y/N!”
“You bastard! I thought you were dying!”
JJ softened, before holding the back of your neck and pulling you towards him, leaning in to capture your lips with his. It was sweet and short and he pulled away quickly, asking. “Was that alright?”
You shook your head, pouting. “No, another!”
He smiled, but gave in to your pleas gleefully, his other hand coming over the front of your neck, pulling you closer to him by your throat. You bit his lip harshly, still angry from the stunt he had just pulled and his whined quietly, moving his hand down your spine, hands brushing the bare skin that your swimsuit exposed.
He lay back, pulling you on top of him. You straddled him, allowing him to deepen the kiss. You didn’t realize how much you had wanted this until you were doing it. You were kissing JJ Maybank. And it felt right. It felt as right as surfing did, maybe even better, you dared to think.
Maybe it was the fact that he kissed you like he had all the time in the world and didn’t care, because he was hungry right now. Maybe it was how he held you like he was afraid you would let go. Maybe it was how he managed to wordlessly beg for your skin on his, clearly touch-starved. Whatever it was, it solidified the growing feelings you had for the blonde, blossoming into something new, something stronger, something better, until you couldn’t hear any of your own thoughts other than his name--over, and over and over again.
When you finally broke that time, you smiled into his neck, trying to catch your breath. “Wow,” sighed JJ, “That was some kiss, babe. If you kiss me like that forever, I’ll die a happy man.”
You giggled, but sat up slightly, flicking his nose. You knew you had to get this awful, insecure doubt of yours out of your mouth right now before you let it fester into something that could ruin this beautiful thing you were creating with JJ. “If you ever break my heart, JJ, I swear to God, you better not cheat on me.”
He frowned. “Wouldn’t dream of it. I’ve wanted this forever. Can’t fuck it up now.”
You smiled, bending down for another kiss. JJ stopped you. “Wait. While we’re making promises, let me just say, if you ever get back with Kyle, I will sue.”
You thought the whole town probably heard your laugh then.
K so not my best work but hope y’all liked it!

Growl: Chapter 12
Warnings: None Tag List: @theravencawsatmidnight @etroman @kaariqueen
Tumblr media
Today was the day, the day where Seijoh would face off aginst Kaisei Academy, a well known school with a very skilled Volleyball team. They were so good in fact, that they would become an obstacle for Aoba Johsei if not taken down a peg. And that's why Seijoh was here today, to show Kaisei Academy that they were the best! Right now, each team were having a team meeting before the game starts. While Seijoh were confident in their skills, there was still a hint of tension in the air.
"Alright guys, this is it." Oikawa started, as the captain it was his job to get his team hyped and ready for the match. But it was also his job to restore their confidence, make them feel like they could do anything if they really put their whole hearts and souls into it. "We're going to show those Kaisei jerks just who they're up against. We are Seijoh, we back down to no one! The moment we step onto that court, we show no mercy! Kaisei and every other team that challenges us will known that our team is nothing to mocked or looked down upon. I believe in all you, I know we can win this! Now, let's show them what we go!" The teamed collectively gave a frim, "Right!" back to their captain.
"But before we do, L/n-Chan has something she would like to say to everyone." Oikawa stepped aside for Y/n, who approached the team nervously. She cleared her throat and tried to ignore their eyes as she spoke. "I-I know things have been a little weird recently, I haven't stepped up as a manager like I promised I would. I gave you all my word and then I failed to make good on it, and for that I'm very sorry." She bows her head. "But, from now on, I'll be there for each and every one of you. I'll be here for this team like I should, I'll give you all my best, and I'll try harder every single day. Because that's what a manager does." She continued.
"Starting from now, you can rely on me. And I'll rely on you guys to win this match and many more like this." She gives the team a warm smile. "Good luck!" The team all felt their hearts flutter at her kind words. It was nice having a girl, a cute girl at that, cheer them on. But it was even nicer when she was this caring and appreciative of them. But secretly, Y/n would be cheering on Kyotani the most, and he knew that.
The bell that would signify the beginning of the match was blown. "Now go out there and win!" Y/n tells them. "Yeah!" The team says in unison as they approach the court.
The game was near it's end, and the score was tied, one more point was all that was needed in order to win this game. Things were starting to look slim for Seijoh, tension was clear in their movements. They were just as unsure as Y/n, who was on the sidelines watching with bated breath. She never knew volleyball could get so intense, she never understood why there was so much passion put into each match. But now she understood, she understood what it meant to be a part of the team, what it meant to have your teammates backs, and what it meant to support them all every step of the way.
The crowd watched as the ball was sent up into the air, Kyotani was the closest person to it. It was all up to him, to make that final hit, and win the game...
Kyotani took a running start, and just as he jumped he heard the encouragement that made him forget any trace of doubt in his mind. "Go for it Ken!!" Y/n cheered over the crowed. Kyotani yelled fiercely as he hit the ball with every ounce of strength he had. It swooshed over the net, and passed the opposite team member's head, right onto the floor.
The whole gym went quiet, as the ref made the final call...The final whistle was blown...Seijoh, had won!
The gym filled with the cheers from the crowd, Y/n included. She ran to the team who was currently celebrating their victory. She tackled Kyotani in a tight hug, he lifted her up and spun her around. "You all did it! You won!" Y/n kissed his forehead. "Of course we did! We're Seijoh!" Oikawa exclaims happily. "You guys were amazing! Congratulations!" Y/n tells them with a big smile. With a few more celebratory words, the two teams gathered at each side of the court, and thanked each other for the match.
Tumblr media
At the end of the day, the whole team decided to go out for a nice dinner to celebrate. And all at the cost of their oh so wonderful captain Oikawa, who was currently regretting that decision. Each person raised their glass to make a toast. "Here's to another victory for Seijoh!" Oikawa starts. "You all worked hard out there today, I say this win was well deserved." The teamed cheered in agreement. "And, I would like to thank Y/n for becoming part of the team." His kind words made her blush. "Don't think I didn't hear you cheering for Mad-Dog out there." He winked. "Speaking of, congrats again on your relationship! Here's to Y/n and Mad-Dog! May they have a wonderful life, and many beautiful children!"
Y/n and Kyotani turned red, silently cursing their captain. "Oi, stop embarrassing them." Iwaizumi elbowed him. Y/n glanced over at Kyotani and smiled softly. As embarrassing as Oikawa's words were, she hoped for the same. That Kyotani and herself would stay together for a very long time, and maybe, even have a kid or two. Not now obviously! But at some point, it would be nice. Kyotani noticed her gaze,  and discreetly held her hand under the table, so the others couldn't see. Y/n rubbed her thumb over his hand gently, as a silent, "I love you too."
After a night of age appropriate drinking, eating, laughing, and just enjoying each other's company, it was time each team member made their way home. Oikawa, Iwaizumi, Kyotani and Y/n were the last to go. "Be safe on your way back." Iwaizumi tells them. "We will. Thanks again you guys. I had a lot of fun tonight." Y/n says appreciatively. "Anytime Y/n. Don't forget to show up for practice tomorrow you two." Oikawa waves as he walked side by side with Iwaizumi. "Goodnight." Y/n waved before turning to Kyotani.
"You ready?" He asked, reaching for her hand. Y/n nods and takes it with her own, they then walked their way back home. "You were awesome out there Ken." Y/n says as she snuggles into his arm. "Was I?" Kyotani's cheeks heat up. "Yeah, you were intense before, but during that game, you were something completely different. You were...you were just so amazing! I can't wait for the next game." Y/n says happily. Kyotani grinned, he really liked that Y/n was warming up to volleyball. Even gaining the same love he had for it since he was a kid.
It just made his love for her grow even more. "Y/n?" Y/n looked up at him with a hum. Before she knew what was happening, his lips were on her own. It didn't take her long to relax into the kiss and return it. She sighed breathlessly as she wrapped her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. She felt Kyotani's arms snake around her waist, pulling her in closer to him. The two pulled apart, needing air, before locking eyes with each other.
All that the two could ponder in this very moment was, 'how did I get so lucky?'. Kyotani reached up and moved a stray lock of hair from her face, then gently strokes her cheek. "I love you so much Y/n." He speaks softly. Y/n smiled and leaned into his touch. "I love you too Ken, so very, very much." The two stayed in each other's embrace for a bit longer before continuing on their way, hand in hand.
Tumblr media
It was strange, at first glance, you would wonder why Y/n would want to be with someone like Kyotani. He could come across as just another cruel delinquent, but underneath all that was a misunderstood,  kind, and gentle person that Y/n loved with all her heart. She couldn't have asked for anyone better, and it was the same for Kyotani. He never thought anyone could love him for who he was, and yet, here Y/n was. Willing to love him with everything she had. He would make sure to never forget the kindness she had shown him, and the love that she held only for him.
He would make sure to care for her, and love her like it was his final days. He would never let her slip away so easy.
And to think, all this started...with a growl...
The End
Tumblr media
Eight years had gone by since that day, and every since then, Y/n and Kyotani had stayed together, their relationship as strong as it was since they first started dating. Their love for volleyball had never went away, as Kyotani was now  a V. League Division 2 player. He played on a team called the Sendai Frogs. Y/n, while not a manager anymore, worked her dream job as a (career/occupation). Still she would always go to his games and cheer him on, he started to call her his own personal cheerleader.
Many changes had occurred in their life, they graduated high school, got jobs, their own home, and now, Y/n and Kyotani were expecting a new addition to their little family. It wouldn't be long now before the bundle of joy would arrive, less than a month in fact. It was quite the shock when they both found out that they would be having not one, but two babies. Twins, one girl and one boy.
And of course when Oikawa found out, he was more than excited. Too excited. Like he was the one having the baby. He chipped in and bought all sorts of baby clothes, mountains of diapers, and two very expensive cribs for the babies. Iwaizumi had to take charge and hold onto his idiotic husband's credit card for a while. He was going to cause them to go broke all on baby items! Don't get him wrong, he was more than happy for Y/n and Kyotani, and couldn't wait to meet the babies when they arrived. But seriously, Oikawa was going to cause them to go bankrupted.
Another bittersweet change was that Killer, Kyotani's dog had passed away of old age two years ago. It left Kyotani devastated, he loved Killer, and he was gone. Y/n was just as sad, Killer was like family to them both. It just felt so empty without him around, so Y/n came up with an idea. She knew no dog could ever replace Killer, but she gifted Kyotani with a Shiba puppy on his birthday. When Kyotani started to cry, she figured she had done something wrong. But quite the opposite, Kyotani loved the new puppy. He even named him Killer Jr.
So life was pretty good. Kyotani and Y/n were still happy and in love, expecting twins, and had a loyal companion. What more could they ask for?
Kyotani held Y/n in his arms, gently stroking her pregnant belly, chuckling whenever he would feel his children kick at him. Killer Jr. was laying across her legs, staying alert for anyone who would try and harm his owners. Y/n looked up at her husband, his eyes were closed and a warm smile across his face. Her eyes trailed to the wall in front of them, above their TV was his old jersey from back in high school. Number 16. His number, proudly displayed for all to see.
On the TV stand were pictures of Y/n and Kyotani from over the years. When they graduated, when they both got wasted at that collage party she dragged him to, when they first moved into their shared home. She figured there was room for one more. "Ken?" Y/n says softly, Kyotani hummed. "Can you grab the camera for me?" She asks. Kyotani sits up right. "Why?" He asked as he stood up from the couch. "I want to take a picture of us. You can never have too many happy memories."
Kyotani searched around for a bit before finding the camera. He hurried back over and snuggled up to Y/n again and handing her the camera. She raised it up high and kissed his cheek, Killer Jr. walked over and laid in Kyotani's lap. The camera clicked and flashed, Y/n pulled away and took a look at the picture. "Perfect." She smiled. Kyotani chuckled and pet Killer Jr.'s head. "Wanted to be in it too bud?" Killer Jr. barked and licked his hand.
"You're so photogenic buddy." Y/n giggled. "He should be a dog model-oh!" Y/n put her hand on her stomach. "That was uh...a big kick." Kyotani puts his hand on hers. "You ok?" He asked. "Yes, it was just-Ah! Ooookay...um...Ken? I think our babies want to be free." Kyotani's eyes widened. "N-now...?" Kyotani mutters. "Yep." Y/n nods. "Now!?" Kyotani exclaims. "Yes now Ken!" Y/n flinches at another harsh kick. Kyotani jumped up and quickly grabbed his keys.
He ran back over and helped Y/n up and got her out the door and into the car and rush to the hospital.
Tumblr media
It was hectic at first, but after hours of labor the twins had finally made their way into the world. Y/n held her two babies close to her chest, even drenched in sweat and exhausted Kyotani still found her beautiful. His knees nearly gave in at the sight of her and his two children. He kneeled down next to the bed. "They're so...small." It was all he could say. Y/n smiled and kissed her babies' heads. "Yeah..."
The door to the room opened wide, no other than Oikawa himself strode in. "I came as soon as I heard!" Iwaizumi followed in after. "This is a hospital, tone it down!" He hissed. "Ohhh, let me see." Oikawa walked over to the other side of the bed. He teared up at the sight of them. "What are their names?" He asked. Y/n looked down at the girl. "This one is Yui." She looked down at the boy. "And this one is Ryu."
(Sorry if they're bad, I'm not creative when it comes to names.)
"They're so precious." Oikawa whines. Iwaizumi walks over with a smile. "Congrats you too. They're beautiful." Y/n and Kyotani thanks them before turning their attention back to their kids.
"Yui and Ryu...Welcome to the world."

[Flower .1]
Tumblr media
A young woman strolled through London with a sweet melody playing on her lips. She wore no expensive gown or jewelry. Only simple clothes for people of lower class. Nobbles, young men or woman stared at her with disgusted looks on their pristine faces. The woman kept her head up high, ticking off the higher class passers immensely.
The woman reached a cute flower shop, using her key. She opened the door, breathing in the sweet scent of flowers. A smile graced her (c/l) lips. Placing on a black apron and gardening gloves, the female picks up a watering pot and starts to go around her shop. Feeding her little flowers and herbs with the water.
Humming the same song she was whistling on her way here. A small jingle of bells could be heard in her shop. A old fellow comes in, his white hairs curling under his top hat. Even his milk white moustache curled at the ends. "Hello Mr. Samuel! How are you this fine evening?"
Mr. Samuel smiled at the young woman, his saggy cheeks lifting up a bit. "I'm quite alright Ms. (Y/N). For you see, my son will be graduating from college this afternoon. I decided to grab some flowers and a present for him while I was in town."
The old man said proudly with excited eyes. "Oh, I see! So you want some celebratory flowers for this grand occasion." "Absolutely!" "Alrighty, I think I have something perfect for you."
The woman grabs a pair of clippers and runs around the shop. Picking or cutting the flowers from their pot and placing them on the counter. Getting to work on the bouquet for her customer. Mr. Samuel watches her with wide eyes, everytime he came in for flowers. (Y/N) would easily create a beautiful bouquet with even the most simple flowers.
"Here you are Mr. Samuel!" The old man looks at the flowers with amazement. "These are lovely Ms. (Y/N), truly!" The old gent said, picking up the bouquet as if it were glass. "Thank you, I believe orchids, carnations, plumerias and roses are quite fit for your sons graduation."
Mr. Samuel thanks her and pays for the flowers. Leaving then after. (Y/N) starts to pick up some of the petals and leafs that had fallen. Throwing them away in the trash bin. She then goes outside to water her outside plants.
(Y/N) starts watering her little flowers amd trimming them so they can look nice for her and customers. A soft pair of footsteps could be heard from behind her. The female turns herself around and sees a young noble man she knew. "Why hello there Mr. Moriarty." (Y/N) said with a kind smile.
The blonde haired male smiles back. His arms holding on to what seemed to be groceries. "A fine day out, is it not?" (Y/N) said politely, Louis nods at her words. "Yes, I thought it would be nice to get some items for me and brothers durring this time of day."
"Aw, how sweet of you." The female says with a teasing tone. Louis cheeks turn into the shade of a rose. "I-It is nothing special, you know I do this often." "That may be, but you never fail to surprise me by being the caring person you are."
Louis gave her a shy smile, to which (Y/N) thought to herself on how adorable he was. "Your flowers have gotten much brighter durring this month." He compliments her and her hard work. "Why thank you, I've been using new soil and vinger to keep the bugs away."
"Really?" "Of course, your brother had recommended it to me. Oh, before I forget. Please come inside, I wish to give you and your brothers some flowers as thanks!" Louis shakes his head, "there's no need Ms. (Y/N)."
Louis tries to politely decline her offer. But the female persists, "I want to do it and I don't mind it at all. It was good advice, so please choose some flowers. I insist." (Y/N) gestures for the male to come inside her shop.
Louis finally accepted her request and comes into the flower shop. "Choose a few flowers that you would like and I'll get them ready for you." Louis gazes at the pretty flowers with interest, "so many to choose from." He whispers to himself.
(Y/N) heard his words and answers him. "That is true.. If you'd like, I could choose some for you." "That would be very helpful," Louis replies. "It's not a problem," the female dismissed. "Now, let's see."
The female leaves Louis side and looks at a group of roses. "Hmm, you and your brother have bright red ruby eyes. So I think these suite you and him."
Louis does his best not to blush while she talked of him and William. He knew that (Y/N) had keen eyes for details. Especially for people. "Now for the oldest Moriarty, he has emerald eyes if I'm not mistaken. So these hydrangea will fit quite nicely."
"What do you think Mr. Mor-." "Louis." (Y/N) looks at the male with confusion. Mr. Moriarty explains, "you can call me Louis." (Y/N) understood what he meant, he wouldnt want to get mixed up with his brothers.
So with a grin, (Y/N) reiterates. "What do you think, Mr. Louis? Will you like those flowers." Louis nods and the female picks up the pots that contain the flowers. Placing them on the main counter, she starts to pick and cut, trim each flower she choose.
Loius watched her work. To him, it was almost like seeing a busy bee gracing each flower to pollinate. He decided to focus his attention elsewhere. Louis eyes land on empty flower pot on the farther side of the counter. It was painted (f/c) and was a rather plain looking flower pot, but a strange thing about it was that it held no flowers in it, not soil or dead flowers, nothing.
(Y/N) sees where Louis attention was drawn too. The female stares at the empty pot with static filling her ears. Blinking out of her trance, she continued her task. When (Y/N) had finished, she taps Louis shoulder.
"Your flowers are ready!"
Louis thanks her and carefully picks up the bouquet. (Y/N) goes over to the door to hold it open for him. When Louis had stepped out of the shop. A carriage had stopped in front of him.
"Brother William!" Louis gasps, a bit surprised to see his brother out durring this time. "Hello Louis," the blonde moves his eyes to see (Y/N) there as well. "Hello to you too Ms. (Y/N). Did the vinegar and new soil work out for you?"
The female in question bows in greeting and answers him. "Yes it did. Thank you for advice." William nodded and his eyes land on the bouquet held in his brothers hand. Though he doesn't bring it up.
"Louis, would you like a ride home with me." Louis agrees and the two brothers were in the carriage together. "We must be going, it was pleasure to see you again Ms. (Y/N). I hope we see each other again soon."
With that said, William tells the driver to go. (Y/N) watched them go, waving a bit. She let's her hand drop to her side and goes back into her shop. Casting a glance at the empty flower pot.
~°~
"Louis, how did it go in town today. You seem very happy." William spoke, watching his younger brother. "It went well, Ms. (Y/N) gave these to us as thanks." Louis stated, looking down at the bright arrange of flowers.
William also gazed at the odd bouquet. Fondness could clearly be seen in his eyes. The same would be said for Louis as well. William directs his attention to the window, not bothering to look at the horrid nobles.

Luke x alive!reader
Summary: It's fluffy Haloween time!!
Requested?: Yes! This was inspired by @fantomlovesjuke4ever's request:
Can I request an imagine with Luke Patterson as the ghost and (yn) as the alive girlfriend who is julie and flynn‘s best friend and she went to go visit Julie’s house for halloween.
I hope you like it!
Fandom: Julie and the Phantoms
A/n: I know it's after Halloween, but oh well. I hope y'all enjoy it!
Luke was positively vibrating with excitement as he walked you to Julie’s house. As his first Halloween in technically twenty five years, you could definitely understand. You were excited to spend your first Halloween together too.
"I can't wait to spend today with you!" Luke exclaimed, swinging your hand.
“What do you think we’re gonna do?” You asked as you walked onto Julie’s street.
Luke considered the question for a moment. “Julie was talking about doing a movie night and I know Reggie was looking forward to carving pumpkins.”
“How are you guys gonna carve pumpkins?” you asked.
“If we focus enough we can hold objects. Reggie’s been practicing everyday.”
“Ah-" you smiled "-do you think Alex finally got the courage to ask Willie to come?”
Luke shrugged. “He said he was gonna go see him this morning, so maybe.”
“I’m so excited to meet him, Alex has told me so much about him.”
“Yeah,” Luke grinned as you walked into Julie’s driveway.
“Julie?! We’re here!” You called walking into the empty garage.
“Boo!” Carlos jumped out from behind the couch and you shrieked, almost jumping into Luke’s arms. You quickly realized that wouldn’t be the best thing to do in front of Carlos though.
“Carlos, you nearly gave me a heart attack,” you scolded, but the smile on your face didn’t make you very menacing. Over the years you had learned to not get mad when people tried to scare you, and they tried a lot. You were kinda known for always being a little scared, you couldn't help it though. There were so many scary things out there, from ghosts to spiders.
Finding out that Julie was in a band full of ghosts that you could see and touch was a pretty big shock. You had been absolutely terrified to go anywhere near Julie’s house for a while. However, your fear soon faded with Luke’s persistent and kind attitude. He had helped you to realize that ghosts weren’t all bad.
From there, it had taken you a very long time to realize that your racing heart had less to do with fear and everything to do with a crush on Luke. Once you did though it wasn’t long before you were dating.
“Sorry, Y/n,” Carlos apologized as you heard footsteps running into the garage.
“Y/n!” Julie called.
“I’m here Jules!” You called back.
Julie walked in. “I heard you scream are you okay?”
“Yeah, Carlos just scared me,” you explained.
Julie nodded and turned to her little brother. “Flynn needs your help in the kitchen.” She turned to you and Luke as he left. “Are you ready for some pumpkin carving?”
“Yes!” Reggie exclaimed, proofing into the room. You jumped, this time into Luke’s arms.
“Good. Y/n, can you help me with them?” Julie asked.
You nodded. “Of course.”
Julie led you up to the house and and you admired the detailed decorations. There were tons of fake spider webs and spiders on the porch and cute little signs that said stuff like 'the witch is in'.
The inside of the house was even cuter with purple and orange streamers decorating the ceiling and few paper bats dangling from string.
"You guys always have the best decorations," you complimented as you and Julie walked into the dining room. There were five pumpkins of varying sizes stacked together and you grabbed the two smallest while Julie took the biggest.
“Hey Flynn,” you called, eyeing the delicious looking Halloween cookies. They were the soft sugar cookies that were at all the supermarkets.
"Hey," she waved, placing a cookie on a platter.
"Happy Halloween, Y/n," Ray said, coming into the room and taking a cookie. "Do you girls want some help getting these to the garage?"
You beamed at him. "Yes please."
Your arms burned on the walk down to the garage and you wished you could have Luke help you, but a floating pumpkin would probably scare Ray. You finally set the pumpkins down and thanked him, waiting for him to get out of earshot before you spoke to the ghosts.
"Where's the newspaper?" Luke asked Julie who gestured to a cabinet.
You and Julie worked together to move the coffee table and were helping the boys lay out the newspaper when you heard a faint swoosh. You let out a quiet yelp when you heard it and looked up to see Alex and who you could only assume was Willie.
"Hey," Alex said with a nervous wave. You stood up and quickly moved over to him.
"You must be Willie, it's so nice to finally meet you! I'm Y/n."
Willie smiled and you could see Alex relax out of the corner of your eyes. "Nice to meet you too."
Luke came up to you and wrapped an arm around your waist as Julie introduced herself. The six of you chatted for a little while before Flynn arrived with some food.
With everyone in the garage it was time to start carving.
You and Luke kneeled down together to start on your carving of the Julie and the Phantoms logo. You squinted your eyes in concentration as you sketched it out on paper. Once you were satisfied Luke pinned it on the pumpkin and grabbed the tools.
He did his best to carve a bit out, but his hand kept falling through after a while. He sighed in defeat before you came over.
"Here," you said, taking his hand, "let me help."
With his hand in yours, the two of you were able to easily carve the pumpkin. You took the top off and wrinkled your nose at the mess of seeds inside.
"I'd help but..." Luke waved his hand through the pumpkin, a teasing grin on his face.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," you grumbled, rolling your eyes. You reached your hand into the pumpkin and placed some of the gross goop in a trashbag.
"Almost there," Luke encouraged. You groaned as you reached your hand back in.
Though you didn't enjoy it, the pumpkin's insides were clean in no time. From there you sprinkled cinnamon in it and got your carving tools ready. Luke grabbed your hand again and you got to work.
Eventually you were all done. You and Luke took a step back and proudly admired your slightly lopsided design.
"We did it!" You cheered and Luke high fived you. You turned and  gave Luke a celebratory kiss and moved to walk around the room to admire the other pumpkins.
Reggie had carved a remarkably good guitar and you exchanged compliments.
From there you moved on to admire the pumpkin that Willie and Alex had painted rainbow. It was so cute to see how they interacted together and you hoped Willie would be over more often.
Julie's and Flynn's pumpkins were a bit more classic, but very beautiful.
After looking at all the carvings you and Luke walked back to your own pumpkin and accepted all the compliments that came your way.
The sun was getting lower and lower as you turned to chatting and for you lifers, snacking.
You always felt a little bad eating in front of the ghosts, but you couldn't resist the cookies. There was just something so good about the way they melted in your mouth.
It wasn't long before the sun had completely set and you were placing the candles in the pumpkins. The smell of cinnamon and pumpkin filled the room as you went and joined Like on the couch.
“What now?” Julie asked.
“Movies!” Reggie suggested, eyeing some dvds.
“You guys missed some good ones," Willie said from where he and Alex were sitting together.
“Oh you definitely did,” you confirmed, already thinking of ones to watch.
“Here, let's look at the options.” Julie waved her hand and Reggie went over to the table stacked with dvds under the loft.
It wasn’t long before they had decided on the first one. Julie put the movie they chose into the player while you and Luke settled onto the couch. It was just the start of the movie, but the end to a perfect day.
****
Voila! This is my first JatP request and I hope y'all liked it. Have a fantastic day/night!
P.S. I am open to requests!!!!!
P.P.S. if you want to be on my taglist for all things Julie and the Phantoms, feel free to ask. I hope it works and please message me if it doesn’t.

Blurb night:
1.4k words
(request: imagine you’re married to harry & you’re pregnant and you meet up with the boys and tell them and it’s just all happy and so cute🥺) + request: what about some morning cuddles? or how they communicate to everyone that they’re having a baby? sorry im soft today i need some good fluffs)
(Sorry if you didn’t want them combined they were similar so I thought it might be repetitive if I did them independently)
 -----
Trying to conceive was always a nerve-wracking trial and error process for those participating in the journey, and Harry and Y/n are no exception to those bumps in the road to starting a family.
The couple had waited till their one-year wedding anniversary to start trying for a child, making sure the marriage was going smoothly and both of them were able to devote as much attention to the child if they were to successfully fall pregnant.
The pair decided to both get exams to make sure they were fertile and another to make sure Y/n was healthy enough to carry a pregnancy, both of their results came back perfect for the two of them so you can imagine the confusion and upset they experienced when months went by without a positive pregnancy test. Harry and Y/n have been doing a lot of condoling each other, cooking comfort foods for dinners and taking their vitamins religiously to give themselves some hope, carbs and cuddles to carry them through this journey of bringing a new person into the world.
You’d think trying was the most fun part of making a baby yet months of constant sex did a number on the two. They were losing their libido, tired and sometimes sore from the constant friction on their most sensitive areas but the duo refused to give up.
__
It was a typical Thursday morning, Harry sending off emails while cramming toast into his mouth and Y/n was brushing her teeth, feeling particularly out of it that day. She was tired and sluggish, a bit queasy and just off.
By now taking a pregnancy test was part of her morning routine. She even had a designated cup next to the toilet she used to collect her first morning wee in to dip the tests in, every morning she took one just to see. She was never very good at controlling her curiosity and when it comes to something this life changing, well she just can’t stop herself.
Y/n swears her eyes nearly popped out of her head as she saw the second line, bright and bold perfectly straight next to the control line. It took a few minutes for her brain to truly comprehend the evidence in front of her, there were two lines.
She was pregnant!
After the initial shock started to fade, excitement flooded through her. A shriek of her husbands name rolled through the house prompting him to jump to his feet and rush towards the noise.
“What?! Are you okay?! Are you hurt baby? What happen-“
“Harry I’m pregnant! Look ! it worked! We’re having a baby!” Y/n held the positive test in the hair, thrusting it towards his wide eyes seeing the man shift from panic to being elated.
“Oh my god! We’re having a baby! My dick works!” Harry wrapped his arms around his wife before hoisting her in the air, spinning the both of them around while they cheered and let out happy tears.
That night the pair celebrated with a nice dinner and excitedly calling y/n’s obgyn to set up her first prenatal visit. The pair decided they’d keep their secret till they were in the clear, the first couple weeks of pregnancy are the most high risk time for miscarriage so they didn’t want to get their hopes up and let everyone know till they were sure this baby was going to make it to term.
___
Y/n was 18 weeks along when the couple decided they were going to announce the news to their friends and family. Harry was giddy, obsessed with his wife’s tummy that was now starting to get a little curve to the lower part of it. He kept ultrasound pictures in his wallet and spend every evening reading baby books and making a list of names for their growing baby.
The first people they decided to tell was of course their mothers and siblings, it was a great experience lots of hugs, happy tears and celebration sweets. Everyone was over the moon, the couple had full hearts and tummy’s when they left Anne’s home. The couple had never felt happier in their lives.
Of course when it came to telling the news to the boys, Harry decided to whip out one of his dad jokes he’d already been hoarding in his mind. His jokes were always terrible, lets face it, but the boys loved to take the piss out of him and found his jokes entertaining now.
So, Harry invited the group over directing Louis to open the oven for him which inside was a bun- yes Y/n had to refrain from cringing at the horrible dad joke but she let him has his fun- and Louis reacted first with a confused glance to Harry. “Mate, ya’ not the best chef but I thought you’d know that cookin’ one thing at a time is a bit wasteful of the gas innit?” the man plucked the bread off the rack, handing it to Harry who was rolling his eyes since the other man didn’t seem to get the implications.
“Lou, what was in the oven?” he decided to throw him a line, the other guys just watching the interaction confused and waiting for Harry to reveal what the hell he was on about. “A roll Harold” Harry then huffed, “No! it’s a bun!”, Niall was now laughing finding the situation at hand seeing Harry getting mad over the guys not having a clue what he was trying to imply.
When the bickering filled the kitchen between the boys Y/n decided to step in- “Alright! Harry I told you the joke was rubbish, guys ‘bun in the oven’- the reference and horrible execution was a reference to me since I’m pregnant.” – only then did it click in all their heads, a chorus of ‘ohhhh’ and then excited congratulations followed. Louis of course took the chance to pick on Harry who gave him the finger before excepting the celebratory hugs and pats on the back, the boys giving Y/n a good cuddle too congratulating her on the pregnancy and telling her how excited they were to be uncles. A few making jokes to Harry about ‘getting it in’ and all that boyish banter.
The pair couldn’t be more thrilled at all the excitement that surrounded the arrival of their first born, Y/n was also happy she wouldn’t have to wear baggy clothes around them anymore either. Sweaters in august was a bit uncomfortable for a pregnant woman with hot flashes.
____
When the 20 week mark came, the couple decided to keep the gender a surprise till birth when offered the anatomy scan. They really didn’t have a preference as long as their bundle of joy was healthy, they were happy.
They had spent the last few weeks painting the nursery a pale yellow, making an accent wall with a neutral colored floral wallpaper, lots of vines and plants on it in a grey and white color theme. The room was fit for whatever gender their baby turned out to be, and it was now being filled with a crib Harry had put together- which he nearly had a breakdown over how many fucking screws and parts it had- and a nice changing table stocked with diapers, wipes and all the baby essentials.
The little ones closet was organized by size, all hung neatly on hangers and in organized bins as well. A nice rocking chair with a little nursing station was in one of the corners, stocked with burp cloths and a nursing pillow as well as a few jars of nipple balm since breastfeeding can caused chapped skin on the breasts. They had a little dish with pacifiers sitting on the small table next to the chair, picture books and a few nice soft blankets folded on the small shelf below the drawers.
Everything was slowly but surely coming together, and now they couldn’t wait to welcome their baby into the world.
(Tbh idk if I like this one, but I tried my best.)

since you walked out
Book: Open Heart
Warnings: Mentions of Christianity around the start if that requires a warning and one or two swears but other than that nothing much. Also a good amount of flashbacks. And while you’re at it, here’s my masterlist for more angst-filled works!
Rating: Teen
Pairing: Bryce x F!MC
Word Count: 3200+ A little higher than my usual word count but not the highest (Check out the fic with a word count of over 5200!)
Author’s Note: Finally back from my little break with a new Bryce fic. I got a burst of inspiration listening to songs and decided to write this. Also, flashbacks are in italic. Enjoy!
For as long as she could remember, her family would always drag her to church. They were always very religious. She would always be forced into a dress when they went out, constantly reminded to “act like a lady” whenever there were boys around, she’d be pushed to be the poster child of the perfect Christian.
When she was fourteen, she went into church on a Monday, for a funeral instead. She instantly noticed the change in tone the moment she set foot on the marble steps out front, and ever since then, she looked at churches a little differently. She realised that they held an entirely different meaning than she once thought. She learned that they could be just as devastating and sad as they were celebratory.
Like now, where people gathered at the steps, mingling and conversing in expensive clothes that they weren’t going to wear again. There was a truck out on the lawn a bit further from where she was, the workers hastily moving tables and decorations to a tent that was set up at the back. To her side, there were a handful of people complimenting a little girl in a white dress.
A stretch limousine pulled up at the side of the road and a few women climbed out of the car, all wearing matching pale coloured dresses.
She tugged at her own dress and hoped that the simple colour of her own dress would allow her to blend into the crowd and go about unnoticed. Aurora had told her it was fine; besides, it wasn’t as if a fancy new dress was something that would fit in her budget.
And it wasn’t like anyone here would care about her, much less her appearance and what she’s wearing. If someone was to take notice of her, it definitely wouldn’t be because of her dress. They weren’t there for her. In fact, she was yet to spot a single familiar face, which should have been a good thing for her, but she couldn’t help but wonder how many of the guests present both parties actually knew and had met prior to that day.
“Would you ever get married?”
He let out an annoyed sigh, “marriage isn’t as meaningful as one might think, why should I have to document my love to you if we both already know the truth?”
“Okay,” she said, a little disappointed, “but I wouldn’t mind seeing you in a fancy tux,” she smiled, but it didn’t seem to affect him in the slightest.
“Is that really why you want a wedding? Because I would gladly put on something as simple as a tux if it meant that you’d be down t-”
“No, that’s not the only reason. I’d like a wedding, I think that it’d be nice. It wouldn't even have to be a big one,” she could imagine them on a beach, maybe a small service in their apartment, she wouldn’t even have minded just going to the courthouse and having a nice dinner afterward.
“It’s not like we’d have enough people for a big wedding anyway, we’re always so busy.”
She sat down next to him and stroked his thick brown hair with her fingers, “we could just invite our friends from edenbrook, and my parents, you know how much they love you. We don’t need a bunch of people around to have a wedding.”
“Good, because I don’t want a giant guest list where there are different number tables and- and a full service and a grand ceremony. I just...I just want you.”
She wondered how much of this was total bullshit.
From where she was standing, she didn’t think anyone would approach her. The lake behind them was breathtaking, but the crowd was rather anxious and impatient, they were waiting to sit down and for the ceremony to start.
Some people passed by her, and she picked up on certain things they said, like how “beautiful the church is” or “she picked out the perfect dress, her father was crying because it was so pretty” and her favorite one, “just wait till you see this guy, they are just perfect for each other.”
Perfect.
“I told you, I can’t dance.”
“And I was a fool not to believe you, you’ve stepped on my foot so many times I think it’s bruised,” he teased then laughed when she hit his shoulder.
“I hate you,” she looked up at the dark sky above them and shuddered at the thunder that rumbled, “why are we even doing this?”
“Because dancing in the rain is on my bucket list,” he twirled her around then hurriedly pulled her back in when she started to fumble and stumble.
“Okay, but why right now with me? You seriously expect me to believe that all throughout your life you haven’t had a chance to dance in the rain?” she grimaced as she felt a few drops of water drip into her eye.
“Maybe I was just waiting for the perfect person to share this experience with,” he wrapped his hand around her waist and she chuckled.
“Perfect? Please, I am far from perfect,” they met each other’s gaze and she got butterflies just from seeing that look in his eyes.
“That may be true, but this is perfect,” the rain started to get heavier, their clothes and hair completely soaked long ago, “you and me, here right now, together. It’s perfect.”
Lost in her own thoughts, she didn’t hear the sound of metal and wheels quickly approaching her, only being knocked out of her trance when he called out to her. She turned her head a little too fast, scared that she would be caught, afraid that there would be a giant scene, and that she would lose her chance.
At what exactly, she hadn’t really figured out yet.
“It’s really you, isn’t it?”
Elijah was always so welcoming, she never once felt out of place with him by her side. Even now, despite the circumstances, he still held a small smile on his face as he approached her, dressed nicely in a suit, even his wheelchair had little decorations.
“Hey, Elijah,” She gripped her own arm, unsure if it would be inappropriate to interact with him even more than she already had, “I like the decorations on your wheelchair.”
“Thanks,” he said, “Phoebe and I made them together,” he moved a little in his seat to show off a few hidden decorations. He looked just the same as she had really seen him up close almost a year ago.
“It looks nice! How...how have you been?” She didn’t really know what she was doing. Maybe she was hoping the small talk would be a distraction for the time being, she wasn’t ready to talk about the obvious out in the open just yet.
“I’m doing okay. Phoebe and I moved in together a couple weeks back, it’s going well...” he trailed off with a fond smile on his face.
“I’m happy for you, Elijah. You really deserve it.”
He smiled, “thanks. What have you been up to?”
She winced and tried not to fidget. “Nothing much, really. I visited my parents a few days ago. Everything’s like usual, it’s good.”
He nodded, and just like a wave, tension flooded the air around them.
She refused to look down and meet his eyes, to either see full curiosity, disappointment, or any other mood that would just make her feel sick to her stomach, will have her asking the same question over and over to herself. However, the silence couldn’t stay too long.
“What- why are you here?” He asked in a sympathetic tone.
An older woman was yelling at a worker, wanting more champagne for the bride's suite. She was aggressive, and yet the guests around her weren’t baffled at her behavior in the slightest.
She hated entitlement, hated more when the rich forgot that other people aren’t as fortunate enough as them.
She also hated that he was still staring at her while she was wondering if her own mother would be so stressed to the point of lashing out at others around her.
“How long have they been engaged?” She found herself asking the question as a desperate last attempt to quiet her thoughts of if they were stuck in one place and never seemed to want more.
“6 months,” he responded, knowing what those two little words would do to her, “she’s sweet, she has a good heart, she doesn’t push him.”
Ouch.
“And she makes him happy.”
Another stab of pain.
“Do you ever think that we were...unhappy?” His facial expression went soft when she finally looked him in the eye. He tried to think of all the ways he could word his next sentence carefully, but it was no use; he knew she could see the real answer on his face.
“I think you two...worked well together. I think you enjoyed the company of one another, and maybe you were even in love once-”
Once.
“-but that’s in the past.”
Past.
“Right now, over a hundred people are here to celebrate what’s best for them.”
Them.
It was something unspoken, but she picked up on his hints and nudges, she knew what he was trying to get at. She knew that he was wordlessly telling her that her presence was unwelcome and that it would be for the best if she left.
Why was she here? Why did she think that today would be the day to confess her feelings that never drifted away? Why was she so selfish, and think that her happiness was more important than his?
She heard swift footsteps approach her and Elijah. She slowly turned around, hoping it wouldn’t be the one person who could cause her to break down and fall apart with just a single glance.
“What are you doing here? You weren’t invited, you aren’t supposed to be here!” Keiki lashed out. She was loud, almost yelling at her, and it was causing a scene, something she really didn’t want. Keiki looked like she was about to jump her when Elijah moved in between them, separating them with his wheelchair.
“Relax, Keiki,” He looked back at her with a pointed look, “she was just leaving.”
There was a pause, and she almost believed that yes, she was leaving. That was her cue, no one wanted her here, she wasn’t supposed to be here. Who was she to ruin a wedding? How could she do something so terrible to him
“Move in with me,” he ran his hand over her back, listening closely to her slow breaths.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. It’d be nice, getting to come back home after a long day of surgery and join you in bed, falling asleep together,” he thought she was already half asleep and couldn’t even register much less comprehend a single word of what he was saying.
He was proven wrong when she raised her head and looked back at him in the dark room, the only source of light from the window that was cracked open just enough to let the cool night air flow in.
“You’re right. I’m doing internal medicine so I don’t get to see you at the hospital as much as I’d like. This would definitely make up for the lost time,” she smirked as he nudged her gently with his leg.
“Definitely,” he laughed softly.
She kissed his chest and smiled up at him, “if I move in, there’s no turning back. I can’t afford to keep switching back and forth.”
He smiled, “I couldn’t think of anywhere else I’d rather want you to be.”
She gave them a curt nod with a tight-lipped smile, her lips quivering in the slightest as she walked backward a few steps before fully turning her back on them, on him.
She walked past the crowd, past the church, past the parking lot, all the way down to the end of the lake. She was away from everything else, but not from her own lingering thoughts.
There was no way she was leaving, she couldn’t allow herself to, no matter how much she wanted to run away and forgot about everything. Even from where she stood, she could hear the beats of the wedding music.
Can’t Help Falling In Love, Elvis Presley.
Tears welled up at the sides of her eyes as she remembered the last time she had heard that song. That was the song he had played from his car as they danced in the rain. It was one of his favourites, she always thought that that song would play as she walked down the aisle towards him. She supposed it was true for him, but only him.
Her feet had already started to move before her mind could even have the chance to make a decision.
There was an elderly couple just walking into the room, and luckily the doorman held the large wooden door open for her. She thanked him and took the grand venue in. On each bench, there was a bouquet of flowers, a white row leading up to the altar. It was packed, and she could only imagine how many people she was about to shock.
She sat in an empty aisle seat in the back, and finally realized that she was just reaching the top of the stairs, kissing her father’s cheek before he gave her over to him.
“Should I cut my hair?” He asked, looking at his hair in the mirror with a slight frown.
“No, I like it the way it is. It’s nice,” she said from the bed, her eyes still on the book in her hands.
“Eh, it’s too long; and it uses way too much gel to make it neat in the mornings. And it gets really messy again when I take my scrub cap off after surgery.”
She came up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist, nestling her face against his sides, “well, personally, I really like it, but it is your hair. You know I’ll still love you no matter how your hair is, even if you’re bald.
“If I’m bald this early in life, please leave me. My head does NOT look good bare, trust me.”
“Nope. I’ll still be with you, even if you’re bald and I still have a head full of thick hair. You’re mine forever,” a grin formed on his face and he turned around, planting his lips on hers.
“I better be.”
The once cherished moments only seemed to hurt her more than she already was. Sometimes memories are the worst form of torture, especially when the person who shared those memories is gone.
He looked just like she had imagined. In fact, he hadn’t changed that much. He was dressed in a sharp and expensive-looking tux, his hair gelled and combed perfectly, the only flaw was that his smile didn’t seem to reach his eyes.
He had done everything he told her he would never do, yet it was for another woman.
Swallowing back the growing lump in her throat, she tapped her foot nervously as the minister started to speak.
“We are gathered here today to celebrate-”
“Stop being such a poor sport!”
“You cheated! You know what, it doesn’t matter, because I know the real truth.”
“The truth? Fine, I’ll tell you the damn truth! Bryce Lahela sucks at Mario Kart!”
“You take that back!”
“Throughout their time together, they have realised that their dreams and aspirations are more meaningful through a beautiful combination of mutual love and support.”
“I’m proud of you.”
“It’s not that big of a deal.”
“Are you kidding? You got the first solo surgery of your class! You’ve come so far, Bryce. You study, you practice, heck, you’re at the hospital even more than I am! You deserve this, Bryce, you deserve everything good that you have in your life.”
“Does that include you? Because I still don’t think I deserve that one yet,” he smirked and kissed her forehead.
“As we create this marriage, we create a new bond and a new sense of family.”
“I hope our kids have your eyes.”
“If we’re thinking about children, I have no problem shoving them right back up there if they don’t look exactly like you.”
“Bryce, honey, what the fuck is wrong with you?”
“I’m just saying. Your eyes, your nose, your smile, I want them to have everything I love about you. Which is every single thing feature and personality trait of yours. Maybe except your sense of style, I think they’d be better off with mine.”
“Hey!”
“Now, before they begin their vows, if anyone can show just cause as to why this couple lawfully cannot be wed together in this holy matrimony,”
“You’re being ridiculous!”
“No, I’m the only one being reasonable! You can’t seriously think that I’m just going to let this go!”
“Where are we going? We’re stuck in the same spot and have been for a long time, I can’t do it anymore!”
“Then don’t,” she croaked out, the quietest any one of them had been that entire conversation.
“Speak now, or forever hold your pe-”
“I think I’m falling in love with you,” she wiped away the tears at the side of her eyes as he held her closer to his chest, “and I’m terrified.”
She pushed her doubts away and stood up, interrupting the silence in the church.
Almost immediately, every single eye was on her, except one pair, the only pair of eyes she wanted to look at her. Gasps rippled all throughout the crowd, one woman even let out a horrified yell, and a man a few rows in front of her scoffed. The commotion was big enough to draw the bride and groom’s attention away from each other.
A surge of warmth flowed through her body as his brown eyes connected to hers.
Bryce’s emotions went in flashes. He was a bit confused at first, as to why their loved ones were making so much noise just as they were about to be married. Then it was anger after realising that it was a result of someone objecting to their wedding. Lastly, it was sadness after he saw who exactly had stopped them.
Maybe it was because he hasn’t seen her since she walked out. Maybe it was because she was ruining his special day. Maybe it was because he knew she had lost her chance years ago, and that even he knew it was too late to turn back time.
Maybe it was because he knew exactly how this situation would turn out. Maybe it was because he was about to have to break her heart one last time.
She took a shuddering breath, then uttered those three little words that could shatter the hearts of everyone in the room. But she ignored the appalled expressions of the crowd, she ignored the angry expression of Keiki, ignored the devastated look on the woman who stood on the very spot she had hoped for so long to stand in.
Instead, she focused on the man at the very end of the altar, desperation and longing in her eyes. Instead, she focused on him, on the smallest quirk at the side of his lips, the smallest chance that he could still provide her with the hope and love that he had once promised so long ago.

At 8 years old, Drew was trusted to wander the neighborhood alone. He went to the park and saw a girl dressed in a tutu, dancing barefoot in the sandbox. When he approached her, he startled her. She stopped dancing and turned to face him.
“Hi.” her smile was the most friendly thing Drew had ever seen. It was the first time he’d met someone who didn’t scare him.
“Hi.” he waved and kicked the sand below his foot.
“What brings you here?”
“Got bored at home and needed a new adventure.” he shrugged in response, hoping to get the girls name without asking.
“ME too.” she smiled. “What’s your name, stranger?”
“D-drew.” he looked up and noticed a quizzical look upon her face.
“I like it.” she smiled and held out her hand. “I”m y/n.”
“y/n?” he raised an eyebrow and looked at her.
Suddenly becoming insecure of her name, she stepped back., letting go of his hand. “My p-parents liked the name.”
“I like it too.” he smiled and sat on the edge of the sandbox. y/n stood in front of him with an outstretched hand.
“Come on. You wanted an adventure and an adventure, you will get.” she offered him the kind smile she greeted him with. He knew that this new found friendship would last a long time.
------------------------
All through life, y/n & drew were inseparable. In high school, they were always mistaken for a couple, and at the time, neither of them realized just how much they acted like one.
It wasn’t until one night, during one of  Drew’s football games, that one of them started noticing.
The game was nearing the end and Drew had yet to spot y/n in the crowd. She wasn’t in her usual spot in the stands and he was starting to get worried that something had happened to her.
He was the quarterback though, so he couldn’t let that shake his focus. He looked back into the team huddle as they went over the plays. They broke apart seconds later and got in their starting positions. Drew called out some plays and was handed the ball. Just as he was about to throw it, he caught sight of her. She waved at him and he was almost hypnotized. It took y/n screaming his name to make him come to his senses.
“Drew!” she shouted and nodded her head to the left. The other teams players were running towards him so he made a quick pass to the wide receiver on the left. The guy caught the ball and ran it in for a touchdown. That was it. They had won the game. Drew and the guy who made the touchdown were suddenly lifted into the air and everyone started chanting.
Y/n waited by Drew’s car for him to come out, like she always did. And when she spotted him, she ran full force into him. If he hadn’t seen her already, he would’ve been knocked down. But he caught her and spun her around.
After they got in his car, they drove to the diner to celebrate with the team. Y/n and Drew sat in their favorite, and most frequented, booth and ordered their usual celebratory meal. Burgers, fries and a shake.
“Where were you? I was getting so worried.” Drew smiled as he stole her fries. She smacked his hand and giggled.
“I had to wait for Dennis to pick me up.”
“Wh-who’s Dennis?”
“He’s my new neighbor. Just moved in a few days ago. He offered to drop me off at the game and he was running late.”
“If you wanted to, you could’ve gotten a ride with me.”
“I know. But I wanted to give you some space before the big game.” she smiled and looked at him. “I didn’t want to distract you right before you went out on the field.”
“You’re my good luck charm. You could never distract me.” he held her hand and looked out the window at their friends, who were goofing off in the parking lot. “You have no idea how lucky I am to have you in my life.”
“I was thinking the same thing.” she smiled and before either of them knew, they both started leaning in. Their lips were only an inch or two apart when they were interrupted by some guy banging on the window beside Drew. “Dennis!” she smiled and ran out to greet the guy. As she slapped his arm for scaring her, he chuckled and wrapped her up in a hug.
Drew instantly felt insecure and he wasn’t sure why.
This Dennis guy looked like he came out of an Abercrombie & Fitch catalog, the very type of guy that y/n would fall for. As Drew looked on at the two outside, he didn’t feel hungry anymore so he stood up, paid the bill, and left the diner.
For the next year or so, he distanced himself from y/n. He couldn’t stand to hear her talk about how great another guy was, right in front of him. The night at the diner made Drew realize that the only reason he suddenly felt jealous, was because he was in love with her.
2 years after the championship game, he got an envelope in the mail. It was addressed to him and it was from y/n. Wondering what she wanted, he quickly opened the envelope. But when he did, his heart dropped. Inside was a wedding invitation to Dennis & Y/n’s wedding.
It was surprising to him that he had even received the invitation in the first place, since he had been blowing her off for the better part of 2 years. He didn’t want to go to the wedding, but he knew if he didn’t, he’d regret it.
So the day of the wedding, he showed up. His tux was the same one he wore to prom. The exact same one that he knew y/n would love. The one she did love when she saw him in it that night.
It was killing him, these thoughts he was having. He had contemplated his plan and changed the details many times. His original plan was to show up and actually watch the girl he loved get married to the man he was incredibly jealous of. Then, he changed the plan to leaving halfway through. The plan changed 4 more times after that.
And here he was now, getting ready to try out his final plan. He wanted to go see her and he hoped that once she saw him, she’d give up on Dennis and run away with him.
But as he approached the room where she was getting ready, he heard her talking to her friends. He stopped and listened to them.
“You look so great in that dress.”
“You really do, sweetie.”
“Thanks, mom.” she smiled and kissed her moms cheek. Her sister and her 2 best friends sat next to each other on the couch.
“Dennis is a lucky man, sis.”
“I’m even luckier.” she smiled happily. “I love him so much.”
When Drew heard those words come from her mouth, he made one final decision. He went back to the gift table, set the box down gently & walked away. He could not stay and watch her marry Dennis. It would break his heart knowing that he could’ve been the one up at the altar with her, had he actually told her how he felt before Dennis entered the picture.
If he had stayed outside of her room just a minute longer, he would’ve heard something amazing during the conversation. Something he would’ve enjoyed hearing.
“Is Drew coming today?” y/n asked her friends.
“You know, I’ve always hoped it was going to be you and Drew doing this.” her mom smiled and shook her head. Y/n’s sister looked at her as well.
“Me too.”
“Yeah. I thought the same thing but, Drew never made a move. It would’ve been nice to be marrying him, but Dennis is a great guy and he treats me well.” y/n smoothed out the front of her dress and turned. “I made the right choice, right?”
“That’s up to you to decide, sweetie.” her mom looked over at her children and smiled.
“5 minutes, ladies.” y/n’s dad walked into the room and nearly bawled his eyes out. “Awww. My baby looks so beautiful.”
“Oh, dad. You’re gonna make me cry.” y/n grinned and followed the group out of the room.
“Dennis is going to lose his mind when he sees you.”
“That’s the plan, dad.”
Y/n watched her friends walk down the aisle and when it was her turn, she grabbed her dad’s arm and walked with him. Her eyes searched the crowd for the blue eyes she cared about. Despite what he has been doing to her for years, she wanted nothing more than to see him sitting in the spot she reserved for him.
When here eyes didn’t find his, she started getting nervous. His eye contact was the only thing that truly calmed her down and she didn’t have it right now. She had thought that he had taken the last second to have a bathroom break but after 15 minutes, she realized he wasn’t coming.
She was so caught up in her own thoughts that she didn’t realize that the ceremony was almost over.
“IF anyone can think of any reason these two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace.” the minister read from his book.
When nobody stood up to object, y/n felt a knot in her stomach. Part of her had hoped that maybe Drew would stand up and tell her that she was making a mistake and that she should be with him. Unfortunately, he was nowhere around.
“Now, do you Dennis Christopher Mixon, take Y/F/N to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
“I do.” Dennis smiled.
“And do you, Y/F/N, take Dennis Christoper Mixon, to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
The entire crowd looked at her, anticipating her answer. Her dad knew what she was thinking and he gave her a small nod.
~Drew’s POV~
After I left the wedding venue, I went to the diner I spent all my free time at. The cook began making me a meal as soon as he saw me and the owner sat with me.
“What’s up, Drew? Shouldn’t you be at y/n’s wedding?”
“He’s not there because it’s not him she’s marrying.” the cook smiled as he served me. Mrs Marden let out a chuckle.
“Is that true, honey? Are you upset because it’s not you?”
“I couldn’t sit there and watch her say she loves him. She shouldn’t be with him and I should’ve said how I felt from the beginning.”
“You know, the both of us have seen the two of you grow up & we thought that it’d for sure be the two of you sharing the rest of your lives together.” Devyn smiled sympathetically as he sat with us.
“I wish it was me.” I looked down at my watch and undid my tie when I noticed the time. “But it’s too late now. The ceremony is probably over by now and she’s now Mrs Mixon. I missed my chance.” I sighed and threw my head back. I didn’t notice the two of them gaze out the window and share a look.
“It might not be too late, Drew.” Mrs Marden nudged my shoulder and walked away. Devyn followed her as they went to the kitchen. I took a quick look out the window, then back at my plate.
“Wait a second.” I mumbled to myself and looked back out the window. Y/n was walking up to the diner in her wedding dress. Tears were flowing down her face as she stopped and locked eyes with me through the window. She shrugged and started crying again.
I got up and ran out to her, immediately pulling her into a hug.
“Shouldn’t you be on your honeymoon right about now?”
“I couldn’t do it.”
“What?”
“I couldn’t marry Dennis.” she sobbed into my chest. “Everyone looked so disappointed as I ran out. I think I broke Dennis’ heart. That’s not what I do. I’m not a heartbreaker. Oh my god. I feel so ashamed.”
“Hey, you did what you thought was right for your heart. I don’t think anyone can be mad at you for that. You knew being with Dennis wasn’t right, so you left.”
“Our parents spent so much money on the wedding and they’re gonna be so mad.” she continued to sob, obviously ignoring what I had just said. I grabbed her shoulders and pushed her back a little.
“Look at me, okay? Nobody could ever be mad at you. And if they are, it’ll only be briefly. Like I said, you followed your heart and did what was gonna benefit you. That’s all that matters, y/n/n.” I looked down at her and noticed her eyes were closed. “You’re my best friend and I’m so sorry I’ve been pushing away all these years.”
Was this finally the time I was able to tell her? Nah, I couldn’t She just ran our on her wedding. It just wouldn’t be right. If she even reciprocated the feelings, I didn’t want to be a rebound. So I kept my feelings buried for now.
“I realized that I didn’t love Dennis as much as I had led myself to believe.” she sniffled and rubbed her eyes. The mascara came off on her hands and she looked at me. I nodded and she rubbed her hands on my tux. Thankfully, it was black and wouldn’t show much. “Truthfully, I fell in love when I was 8 & I’ve never gotten over it. Marrying Dennis wouldn’t have been fair to either party involved.”
“You fell in love when you were 8?” was this the moment? “What a coincidence. I fell in love when I was 8 too.”
“Oh, did you really?”
“Yeah. With this goofy girl who danced barefoot in the sandbox while wearing a bright pink tutu.” I smiled and rubbed her shoulder. “She was quite the style icon back then.”
“Sounds like a complete dork.” she laughed.
“Oh, she was. But that dork became my best friend so quickly. Guess I was just attracted to the ‘dork’ lifestyle back then.”
“You’re telling me.” she smirked, “Remember when you dated Lilah because your friends dared you to?”
“Ugh. Don’t remind me.”
“And then there was Lisa. And Lauren. And the other Lisa. Oh. There was also Lindsey.” she counted off all my ex-girlfriends on her fingers. “Wow. Lot’s of L names, huh?”
“It was my favorite letter.”
“Ah, I see.” she nodded and stared at her feet. Her shoes were now in her hands and she was swinging them. “You know I love you, right?”
“Yeah. And I love you too.” I joked, knowing exactly what she meant. But my tone didn’t come across how I wanted it.
“The kid I was talking about, the one I fell in love with when I was 8, was you.”
“Oh, really? I wouldn’t have ever guessed that.”
“Drew, I’m trying to be serious for a second here. Can you just let me talk, please?”
“Of course. Go ahead.” I smiled and she stood in front of me.
“I’m in love with you, Drew Starkey. And if you’ll let me, I plan on never stopping.”
“I’m in love with you too.” I looked at the girl and when I saw the look in her eyes, I panicked. “But-”
“But? There should be no but.”
“I can’t be a rebound.”
“If anything, Dennis was the rebound from you, dude.” she grabbed my face and made me look in her eyes. “Tell me right now that you don’t want to be with me and I’ll walk away. Look me in the eyes and tell me that’s what you want.”
“I....” I looked into her eyes and all of our memories came flooding back to me. “I can’t do that.”
“Thank god, because I wouldn’t have walked away.” she giggled and kissed my nose, something we used to do to calm each other down & keep each other grounded. “So, is this what you want? A hot mess in a wedding dress?”
“Hey, as long as the hot mess is you, I’m cool with it.” I pulled her closer and rested my forehead against hers. “I’m all in.”
“Hmmm...Good.” she smiled and closed the gap between us. It may have taken nearly 15 years but I finally got what I wanted since I was 8. And like it was magic, she was 8 and wearing her tutu while I was wearing my power rangers t-shirt.
Life couldn’t get any better.
