One of my biggest pet peeves is the justice league being labelled as " The Avengers of DC" and its like. No? The avengers are law enforcement. The Justice League are volunteers

#its like -- captain america is the staple of US military and Superman is a public servant #the one avenger member who has no bounds or legal obligation is tony and its bc hes rich. you could argue that he actually lost #autonomy when shield recruited him because like. protection isn't necessary tied to 'good.' the avengers protect the planet bc sure #its what they believe in and feel like its their duty and yada yada but ultimately they're self serving and most of their #help is accidental. i say most of bc we've seen they abstain from getting involved unless they have a common interest #with dc its like. you have these people in a position of privilege (having superpowers -- which gives them a spot of advantage to ppl who #dont have it) who do the right thing because they WANT TO. and they can stop at any time because nothing stops them.#they COULD say 'yeah you're on your own. we don't really care anymore. duces!' but they Dont.#because through its many flaws dc realizes that goodness isn't only a choice -- its a responsibility #theres probably better ways to say this but. alas #batman #superman #wonder woman #green arrow #aquaman #the justice league #tjl #justice league #dc #dc comics #text #text post

I just read a book about like. memory and trauma and grief and family and attachments and loneliness and there's a part at the end where the main character, who has lost her dad and sister horribly, is sitting with her mother and she thinks that she can't trust her memory of what has happened to her. her mom remembers things differently than she does. sometimes her memories are one way and sometimes another. and she has this moment of realization that when her mother dies she won't have anything left to anchor the past. "no confirmation and no refutation"

and I just started crying

#the past is so big inside me and i can tell it but its not the same and i cant even really see or feel it the same way twice but it takes up #the same amount of space no matter what #i have so little left from then i have lost almost everything #who will i be when it is all gone what will that mean for me #i know i need to transmute it into something i can use to connect with other people but i dont know HOW #dysfunction junction #it sticks in everything it sticks in all the gears inside my head and i cant get it out

Hey. The Finders have no idea that Bonzle was captured. Fritz and Spitz are still waiting, playing video games in the Monastery, for Cole to bring their sister out of hiding now that the blood moon is over. Geo is still sitting by the window, watching and waiting for a dragon on the horizon to return his kid safe and sound. Cole took a very unsure Bonzle, assured them all everything would be okay, and they'd be back soon. He promised he'd find a way to protect her.

Don't think about how they'll smile when Cole finally trudges back, happy to know he's okay. Especially don't think about the Finders stopping, looking out over the group, and how Cole can't look them in the eyes when they turn to him and ask; where's Bonzle?
