I’ve reached a milestone at the coffeeshop I go to every Sunday.  They know my name!  I’ve finally become a Regular™.  My latte and croissant:

It’s funny.  The cardinal is the state bird of my home state of Ohio, but I see SO MANY in Kansas.  I have an app that’s pretty good at identifying bird calls, and 9 times out of 10, it’s a cardinal.  

Along the trails, there are some nice spots for you to sit and take in the view.  I just thought this scene was pretty.

I have found a new favorite bird.  A blue-gray gnatcatcher!  The are so TINY and ADORABLE.  They also like to hop around and not stay still, lol.

6. something i remember from one of ur fics when yn and koo are playing the cats and soup game! that fic is so soft and comforting (and also prompted me to download the app myself) and just makes me feel so fluffy inside!! BUT also the amusement park date! i scene where oc is in the shop picking out all the plushies - MY HEART ToT

i often find myself rereading your fics when im sad or down because they make me happy and bring comfort to me :)

I'm currently working on chapter 3 of my Moon Knight fic and I have the chapter's first draft done and the base outline, now I just gotta put the words in the "best" order and make everything sound all pretty like. But man idk what you'd call it, maybe something to do with the tism or adhd, but neither here nor there. I 'never' seem to have trouble with the story tellin' or even puttin' words to the page. It's the quasi "final" draft before posting, cause I don't have a beta of any kind and just have to reread the crap myself, and well, we are all are worst critics, but we are also our worst editors. For me my, I assume, biggest fault if spelling and grammar, spelling is a little easier though because of things like spellcheck and whatnot, but grammar and correct sentence structure where never my strong suit.

And yes I'm sitting here writing this complaining, procrastinating, instead of working on the fic, I know someone other then me wants to read, but I just stutter and fault here. I wish it was as easy for me to write as it is to draw, but that is simply not the case.

If the app known as snapchat wasn't trying us, I would get the opinion of my best friend, but the aforementioned app is making it very hard to talk, (bff lives overseas from me so ye) But if I think about the advice and things from the past I know I could guess some of the things they'd say. The best compliment (and honestly my favorite) they have ever given me was, on more then one occasion, comparing me to Tolkien, both for the descriptive nature that I try to capture, but also, I am a long winded SOB and I know it. I try and try to shorten my sentences, to delete the unnecessary, but it's hard. Like I said, we are our worst editors, and in my case, I can't seem to trim the fat it you will. Even now I go on and on. The outlines for my chapters are bullet pointed with small discerptions and some dialog where apt, but even the simple outline is over 8 pages.

Idk, I'm just talkin I guess, just needed to vent I suppose. Anyways keep your eyes open for the next chapter.

I was tagged by the absolutely amazing @spielzeugkaiser who as everyone should know makes the most wonderful things. Love you Spiel.

1. Thermodynamic Equilibrium: Ah this is my longest single chapter fic. I remember writing it in a mad dash of like 4 days because I was so enamored with the idea of Jaskier leading Geralt to the spring of nice things and tricking him to drink. Geralt cuddling Jaskier to his chest night after night because the mutations mean his body struggles to maintain temperature and jaskier keeps him warm. Jaskier feeding him up and taking care of him. Geralt taking care of Jaskier in his own quiet way in return.

Out of all of my fics I think its the one i’ve reread the most. Drunk Jaskier insisting Geralt help him eat his birthday cake and climbing into his lap so he can better brush his hair. The gentleness of this fic sticks with me and I’m always so glad that it touched so many other people as well.

2. Shapes of Us: This fic is my longest fic I completed this year and it’s all thanks to Spielzeugkaiser (And the Legion of folks who commented- I love you) who drew the art that started it all. And then kept drawing art making me write more and more. Gods I still want to write more but I know it’ll be another 30k if I let myself start.

Normally I prefer Jaskier to be human but it felt like this fic managed to capture and reflect that yearning that Geralt and Jaskier have to be human. Ask what makes us human? Being loved and seen and cherished. Also looking up animal facts for this fic was fun.

Favorite part, chapter 5: Two otters holding hands while they sleep so they don’t drift apart. (But the otters are Geralt and Jaskier)

3. Only Yours: I’m really proud of this series. Gotta love Monogamy kink Jaskier. He wants so badly to be someone’s most important person. I’m only yours. You are only mine. I have a soft spot for poly fics too but Monogamy with these boys? Ah the tenderness. The dedication. The love. Also I got to write quietly insecure Jaskier and that’s my favorite. Plus I think it was hot.

4. The Ballad of John Watson: Put this up there with Fics I never thought I’d write. (which was - to be fair- all of them. Never thought I’d be a fic writer. Thanks 2020?) But Enola Holmes was really good and there’s just so many parallels between Geralt and Jaskier and Sherlock and John. The story teller and their writer best friend that makes them famous. Love and Dedication across decades. Both Sherlock and Geralt dying only to be brought back for meta reasons years later. And obviously Henry Cavil. 

Jaskier as John Watson. Fell into a new world and made a life there with Sherlock Holmes. I just think there’s something beautiful about loving after loss. About finding happiness once again. Also Ciri and Enola should be bff’s. I’m right and I know it.

5. Love is the Thing with Feathers: Honestly there’s a bunch of fics I wrote for rare pairs (Like this Lambert/Aiden fic or this Dandelion/Whoreson Sr. fic) or smaller/older fandoms and I Love all of them a lot. (Seriously this post took me almost two weeks cause I couldn’t decide what to put in 5th.) Mission Complete was the first fic I wrote for Spy x Family and I’m really proud of how I caught Loid’s voice and also that it connected me to the discord full of lovely people! But I’ll stop plugging other fics-

Love is the Thing With Feathers never really took off (heh) but the idea of Alec Lightwood’s biggest strength being his heart and how much he feels- How fiercely and completely he loves being his most powerful weapon is just. Very important to me. He tries so hard to be the emotionless stoic literal straight man but in the end it’s love that wins. Idk Shadowhunters was important to me this year. Thank you @hockles for being so supportive, listening to me ramble about it as I watched it and you know. Convincing me to watch it in the first place.

You can portray a sense of suspense and intrigue in a natural way that many other writers - published ones included - struggle with. For the writer's ask, 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 18, 25, 31, 33, 39, and 48. This is basically an interview, I'm curious and I also want to interact a bit. lol

Interviews are GREAT, I love answering a bunch of questions!!!

6.   Singleor multiple POV? – Multiple. I canbarely manage to write a one-shot with one POV. It’s… limiting. And hard. Iprefer jumping around.

7.   Standalone or series? – Standalone. Series are hard, man. You gottaspread the plot out and come up with a bunch more subplots, certain developmentsslow down, it gets harder to keep track of continuity… They have theirbenefits, absolutely, like torturing readers with cliffhangers, and as a reader/viewer I 100% prefer series, but as awriter. They be hard.

13.  Describe your writing process fromidea to polished. – Pfft,process. If it’s multi-chapter, I do a vague outline (and then the actual fic inevitably veers off-course). But mostly it’s just openup YouTube, pick a fanvid playlist, and write before I forget everything.(Writing typically happens from like 11pm-1am.) There are usually breaks to browse Tumblr or play games. I’ve been better about editinglately, especially with OM, HH, and HS, but mostly it’s just dump the thing onthe internet once I’m done glancing over it a couple times (and this usuallyhappens in the wee hours of the morning, so my brain and eyes aren’t reallygood at editing).

14.  How do you deal with self-doubts? – I think I just ignore them. Or stare at whateverI’m doubting until I go “Screw it” and post anyway. I’ve got mega socialanxiety, man, I doubt myself all the time, it’s just part of my being at this point. If I listened to it, I’d never post a thing

15.  How do you deal with writer’s block? – Tumblr. Solitaire. Some other phone game. Juststalling, really, if it’s just a bout of lost focus that last a few mins orhours. And if it’s long-term, well, I try searching for writing prompts, makingedits, or rereading my stuff or rewatching the movie/show the fic is based offof.

18.  If you could collaborate with anyone,who would it be, and what would you write about? – @my-glasses-are-dirty. Probs Tony and Peterangst, knowing us. Maybe Tony and Loki, or Peter and Loki, or all three.

25.  Favourite part of writing? – Getting validation. Um, depends onthe fic, I think. Sometimes it’s when I get to write characters cuddling (platonicsnuggles are my kryptonite). Sometimes it’s when they’re being badass.Sometimes it’s a kiss scene.

31.  Least favourite part of writing? – Actually writing. When I have an ideain my head but I can’t get the words right to do it justice. It’s so frustrating. There’s one speech at theend of OM that was all deep and emotional and I knew what I meant, but I couldn’t get the dang words to convey thatmessage at all. That scene got multiple rewrites over multiple days.

33.  Have you ever killed a main character?– HAHAHA abso-friggin-lutely. I’ve killed Tony,Peter P, Loki, Thor, Kirk, Steve… And in one of my book ideas, yes, I did killsomeone who was supposed to be a main character.

39.  Weirdest character concept you’veever had? – Oof, idk if I’ve ever had a really weirdcharacter concept… I mean Koba, the main character’s BFF in my Norse myths book,he’s an absolute dork with chaotic fashion tastes, but that’s about as weird asI’ve gotten, I think.

48.  What’s the most self-insertcharacter/scene you’ve ever written? – Nothing in fanfic, I think (though I do force my Star Trek preferences on characterslike Peter P even though canon has proven he’s a massive Star Wars nerd. Ijust. Never got into those movies). But in my books? Every single character isso obviously part me, be it the geekiness, preference for all-black outfits,love of space, whatever. They’re all pretty much some combo of me, one of my friends,and/or one of my fave characters.

okay i took the greatest of care selecting what matters most to me. i also categorized as best as i could so it wouldn’t look like a mess of links i was just throwing at you – even though they’re all pretty much complete AUs, but i also attempted to summarize to help. bc you’re worth it, nonnie. 

that being said, i’ve been awake since 2 in the morning, so i for sure forgot a lot of fics, and this is probably still a mess. regardless, this will be my oq fic rec masterpost that i will add more to when i’m not so tired.

sunny side up (by @queen-of-the-merry-men, in-progress) - robin asks regina for her eggs during breakfast one day, but it turns out he means the baby-making kind. this fic’s still getting started, but it’s so adorable so far, and i’m so in love with how this person writes platonic bffs robin and regina, it’s so sweet and enjoyable to read while you wait for them to realize they’re in love with each other

what would they say (by @queen-of-the-merry-men, in-progress) - aka (bc i gotta warn you) the most epic slowburn to ever slowburn. like, some people try to give that trophy to other fics, but i strongly disagree bc i definitely count fic years, and boiiiii. i don’t even know how to summarize this… the gist, regina falls in love with the husband of her late best friend. the long, regina goes through some serious shit (including her best friend dying), and robin’s a real supportive guy, a good boy (who also goes through some shit i.e. his wife dying), and they fall in love

you’ve got mail (by @gray-autumn-sky, complete) - based on the movie (that i will watch one day), robin and regina become pen pals, not knowing they hate each other in real life. you know you can’t resist an enemies-to-lovers trope, bc no one can resist an enemies-to-lovers trope. and it’s written by tara, a quality person, so there. tbh i don’t know how to properly flail about how much i love this oneshot without spoiling it, so just know that i do, and should the day come that more is added to this verse i will spontaneously combust.

time just flies, but i still carry on (by @robinwright, in-progress) - idk how to summarize this without spoiling. to put it vaguely, robin’s an asshole and four years later he’s back to fix his mistakes. i just feel assaulted by this fic, and i need cassie to formally apologize for it (through a prequel and a happy sequel please

baby gates and deadbolts (by @x-wishes-on-fallen-stars-x, in-progress) - regina meets a baby roland at the store, and he approves of her hair. adorable, with undertones of emo bc it’s gabi. but it’s sweet, and full of parent OQ, which i’m always weak for.

eye of the beholder (by @mysterious-song, in-progress) - a blind robin falls in love with regina’s voice. this fic is so sweetly written, i’m just in silent awe. it’s beautiful. i want more so bad.

the song that summer sings (by @writtenndust, in-progress) - movie-star regina walks into robin’s humble bookstore, and wholesome love happens. you have no idea how far up this fic’s ass i am. i’m so in love. it’s so adorable. like, why am i still talking? why are you still here reading this? go read the fic. already read it? read it again.

fallen (by @dee-thequeenbee, in-progress) - demons. fallen angels, actually, walking the earth, fucking shit up. of course regina’s one of them. and of course robin’s gotta get in her way. this concept is so cool, i love that this fic exists, and i can’t wait to see it progress

broken souls (by @regal-pixiedust, in-progress) - regina can see dead people. she used to help ghosts move on in her younger days, and robin’s newly dead wife insists she gets back into the hobby. this fic is a wild ride from start to almost-finish, and i’ve loved every second of it.

in sickness and in health (by @mysterious-song, complete) - a memory-loss AU (i, am trash for memory loss AUs. there aren’t enough of them). an adorable oneshot of robin waking up in the hospital to a pretty lady, whom he immediately wishes he was married to. his wish comes true. i love this oneshot so much, it’s so cute, and i wish every day that there was more

oq prompt party: sabrina au (by @lala-kate) - based on the movie sabrina. assuming bad intentions, robin tries to romance regina away from his infatuated brother in order to protect their family’s fortune. he falls in love with her instead. i first read this while i was not in a good enough mindset to reblog (and i’m sorry about that), but i fell in love. i would give a limb for this to continue. whatever you want.

not unless you wish it (by @miladylocksley, in-progress) - after a heist, robin finds a genie lamp amongst his new possessions, and out pops regina. you know when fics just kinda stay with you? and their existence just pops into your head randomly? that’s this fic. every now and then my brain is just like ‘remember the genie au?’ i do, brain. i do.

1. The Last Great Race - Kicking it off with a bang. Cas is a reporter, he goes to Alaska to cover the Iditarod - the dog sled race. Dean is participating and so is Sam and there are so many huskies and also romance. It has a prequel time stamp. It is lovely and I love it and read this right now.

2.  Pies and Prejudice - This is on my Top 8, but it’s a Pride and Prejudice Great British Bake Off Modern AU Fusion. Dean is Liz and Cas is Darcy. Please read this it’s wonderful and also cake is involved.

3. Between The Lines - Fam, Okay, I thought this was going to be Garbage but it’s not. Environmentalist Cas gets in a twitter feud(!!!!) with Western Actor Dean and they make a bet to live in off the land for a week and it’s. Amazing. Enemies 2 frends 2 luvrs. Trust me.

4. And Then You Destroy Yourself - The only Non-BDSM College AU worth reading. Cas is a freshman, he joins the College Newspaper, there is drama and mystery and intrigue. And Gay. The underage drinking is bit cringe but it’s very in character for college students, so what r u gonna do.

5. Love In The Wild - This is a hilaaaaarious Reality Show AU. Dean goes on a dating show and does challenges and meets the luv of his life, u kno? What more do you need. There is sex.

6. Through Basin And Range - Yeee buddy, Road Trip Fic!!!!! Dean and Cas are there but have broken up and it’s rough, and Sam is there also but he is sexting Kevin for some reason. Cas is spending the summer working on a thesis for his Geology Masters (master of rocks), and Sam n Dean tag along. This story really is lovey. It’s only on LJ though, so. :/

7. Unintended - Lawyer Cas bids for Fire Fighter Dean in a date auction and honestly. The sex in this is so good, like I lost this fic for three years but still remembered The Scene (You’ll know the one, that shit is hardly ever seen outside of PWP). This fic is so slept on. You need to read it. I think they live in Washinton or something. Maybe NYC. I forget, I’m busy thinking about The Scene.

8. Your Heart Makes - Ok so there are Three Disney Land AUs in this fandom that I know of. One of them is garbage, one of them is pretty good, and the last is incredible and it’s ur lucky day because the incredible one is this one. Castiel suffers from pretty bad depression, and is just trying to get through life, day by day. Insert Dean w/ a heart condition. There’s love, there’s slow build, there’s disney ride hand jobs. It’s a good time.

9. Any Little Heartbreak - I just reread this one recently! Heart Surgeon Dean! Surgery Nurse Cas! Enemies to FWB to Lovers! It’s like Scrubs meets... some sort of medical drama. Whatever, it’s a trip, and Meg is so fun.

10. Bearing Point - This fic is lovely and fun and it’s construction Dean + restoration expert Cas. I have beef with this fic, in that the author made Dean gay, instead of bi or pan and for me, a huge bisexual with strong emotional ties to Dean’s bisexuality, it kind of grated on me a bit and ruined the immersion. But, if you’re not a big baby like me, this fic is lovely and wonderful and they literally build homes together and also get nasty.

11. For All You Young Hockey Players Out There, Pay Attention - SPORTS AU. I don’t like sports but SPORTS AU. Dean is a hockey person. Something something NHL. Dean plays the sports with his brother. They get a new player from russia, but Dean is >:( bc they traded out his bff so Cas is The Enemy. Enemies to grudging friends to lovers. Coming out. Homophobic confusion. This fic is wonderful and lovely and sports. If you love destiel and you love Check Please, then this is the AU for U.

12.  Fourth Time’s the Charm - Ooooooooh, age gap fic. Cas is a comic book artist, Dean is a fan who goes to conventions. He’s also a virgin. :) Here is a direct quote from the summary: ‘Dean shyly fumbles his way through his first real relationship.’ Literally what more do you need? Literally?

13. If At First You Don’t Succeed (Destroy All Evidence That You Ever Tried) - lmao this fic is ridiculous. Inspired by the HIMYM episode, the three days rule, Dean replaces his number in Castiel’s phone to test he’s not being too eager when he meets girls. sexting ensues and Dean is !!!!! Gay Panicked. I love it, read it now, it’s sexy.

14.  Prosopagnosia -  This one is Teen and Up, I know, I am shocked that I’ve included it too. But it’s such a sweet story. Castiel works in a Gas n’ Sip and he has a cognitive disorder that means he’s face blind. He can’t recognize anyone, which makes his blossoming relationship with Dean a bit complicated. But they work around it. The Impala plays an important role.

15. Run Boy Run - FAM OK FAM PLS. Blind! Dean wants to compete in the Boston Marathon, but he needs a guide people to help him navigate obstacles and the other contestants. Castiel’s brother signs him up and he’s reluctant, but then he meets Dean and uhhhhhhh it all works out. It’s so sweet. Read it. Teen and Up again??? I’m srry, but it’s really good.

16. Yellow - Here’s another I haven’t read yet, but. It’s Elizabeth1985 and also it’s Cas in Witness protection and the excerpt I read places it firmly on my favourites list. Ex-mobster Cas, They are bartenders, there is falling in love, there is also fucking yeaaaa buddy, back on the sexy bandwagon.

17. Rough Seas - Dean is a Lieutenant Commander who moves home with a toddler and he’s involved with the Coast Guard, and he used to know Cas but there was gay panic and so things are tense and angsty and wonderful and this fic is amazing. SLOW BUILD. LOVERS TO ENEMIES TO FRIENDS TO LOVERS. Literally the best. There is a sequel which is almost as long. This fic is so lovely.

18. Asunder - This fic my guys, this fic. Please send help. Social Worker Dean. Recovering Heroin addicts Sam and Ruby who are getting married. They go to Bobby’s for the wedding. I forget how Cas fits in but he’s there and it’s lovely and so well written and wonderful and honestly? A Classic. If you read anything from this list, read this fic.

19. Satin and Sawdust - Lmao u guys u know me. Dean in panties love story. It’s on my Top 8. There’s capentry, there’s gay panic Cas, there’s satin and lace and soft cotton and also Dean has two cats. Read this right now.

20. Living In Agony - THIS FIC MY GUYS. I had three people read it from my Top 8 and they all died and met me in heaven bc i also died when I read it bc it is so. Lovely. Angst, mental illness, teachers Cas and Dean, Gabriel and Charlie are there also, Jess is a delight, Sam is in love with green smoothies, the sex is ridiculous (there is one line that helped shape me as a person and you will know which it is and you can blame this fic for all of the absolute filth that comes out of my brain. Read this right now.

21. Inevitable Homoeroticism in Spanish Romantic Heroes - :) Okay so Dean is a Grad student and Cas is a professor and it’s academic and sexy and not really a college au and I read it like four years ago and I still think about it. I suggest it very highly!!!

22. Get Some - Dean is in college and needs a place to live. He goes to live with Castiel, at the stoner house. Gay Panic happens and there are drugs and loads of casual sex and it’s honestly a good time. A bit angsty but mostly thumbs up muy bueno.

23.  That Summer - Short and sweet, lost love, this fic is so lovely and wonderful. It does feature an age gap with underage Dean so, if that’s not your bag... He is 17 at the time. Farmer Cas! Love and exploring sexuality!

24. Rvr Ro11435 - Destiel works at Nasa!!! Neither are astronauts but they are smart cookies who help send people to space. It’s tagged as an office romance. It’s cute.

25. The Way to a Man’s Heart is Through Chlamydia - One night stand. Dean gets an STD. Has to find his boo and tell ‘em about the STD. There’s fun sex and love and one of them is a baker and the love is so sweet and I love this fic. And I’m psure Cas gets a cat.

26.  Say a Prayer and Light a Candle - College AU where Cas struggles with dating agnostic Dean bc he is very Jewish, and it’s important to him and his family. This fic is special, and really culturally rich. I love it. Little bit of Angst, mostly love and sweetness.

27. Painted Angels - Fuck u this one is hurt of my heart. The Angst is Unreal. Dean is an artist. Or, he was an Artist. Lost Love, which gets found again. Cas returning to town a decade later. All the good shit.

28. Small Town Charmer - SMALL TOWNS! DEAN AND CAS! THEY RUN BUSINESSES AND FALL IN LOVE! Errrrrrr OTHER STUFF HAPPENS! This fic is lovely and great and if you don’t read it then u a dum dum.

29. Summer Holds a Song (We Might Sing Forever) - :) Age difference. Body worship. Dean Winchester described as a Greek God. The fucking is so hot. The love is so sweet. It’s short, but you gotta read this.

30. The Great Escapist - This fic is so sweet. College roommates Dean and Cas spend the summer together and fall in love. I don’t remember if there is Gay panic but like... I’m pretty sure.

Kepler and Ahsoka haven't always...gotten along, to say the least. As initiates, Ahsoka was always very clearly miles ahead of everyone while he fell behind. Even if she didn't mean to, subconsciously she always considered him the lowest bar, she's obviously very talented cause she's nothing LIKE him.

Of course they grow to resent each other for this and butt heads, especially with their masters being best friends which means they're forced to be around each other a lot more 😅 but they don't realize how similar they really are! Eventually they're able to reconcile and become genuine friends, though! 💖
