I stayed when you were lost and I was scared and you were turning away and when it was hard or was wrong or we were making mistakes and I would have given you my wild and a child but it still wasn’t enough to give you peace 😵💫

What hurts so much about the Dursley's treatment of Harry is that if it would have been the other way around, Lily and James would have raised Dudley with so much love.
If it would have been Vernon and Petunia who had died and Dudley had been raised with the Potters they would have treated him like another son.
He would have gotten the same amount of presents as Harry, they would have all eaten their meals together, they would have played and grown up like brothers.
Lily would have read to the both of them every night, James would have played catch with them, they would have learned reading and writing together and taken care of each other.
And when Harry would have been accepted into Hogwarts and Dudley not, Lily and James would have made absolutely sure that Dudley felt as special and cherished as Harry, even without magic.
Dudley would have gotten the same amount of love and care as Harry if it had been his parents that died. Whereas Harry only got resentment and neglect with the Dursley’s.

thinki.ng about cy yu searching up something innocuous like "movie theaters near me" and getting no results. a mocking reminder that, while he's allowed to learn about and enjoy life as much as he wants, he will never make it out of the room he was made in

Fun little silly thought I had about the Lair Games and specifically Leo deliberately losing is all the reasons he could have for doing so.
My favorite headcanon for his main motivation is that Splinter wasn’t proud of him anymore.
I imagine that, in the beginning, winning the Lair Games was Leo’s opportunity to shine. He wasn’t artistic or the baby of the family like Mikey, wasn’t a tech genius who created amazing inventions like Donnie, wasn’t the eldest who was insanely strong and dependable like Raph. So he had to shine somewhere else- anywhere else- and what better way to get attention than to be a winner? A champion?
And then he won too much. And it wasn’t special anymore. He got too big headed, too cocky, he knew this was his element and he ran with it.
Splinter’s words of congratulations slowly petered out. Suddenly, there was no real reason to win.
Winning feels empty when the only one cheering you on is yourself.
So- Leo schemed. And he’s a great schemer, fooling his whole family (and Donnie did deserve a win- people were way happier when he won.)
He even gave up his prized possession! His room!
Though he knows his brothers probably think it’s a bad prize. A terrible one, even.
Leo doesn’t sleep much as is, though. So Dad’s snores were more comforting than anything. It was reassuring to hear him so clearly alive and close by.
Even if the distance between them was larger than Leo’d like.
He’d just have to find something else, something more to show his dad that Leo was someone to trust, to be proud of, to love.
He gets his chance soon after, when he needs to pull off a plan against Big Mama at his dad’s side. Leo can only hope this victory is one that has a lasting effect when his father looks at him with pride once more.
Victory, for Leo, is a pretty loaded term.

You said it was a great love, one for the ages, but your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in

listen I honestly think wilson really enjoyed that little arc where he was cooking every single one of house’s meals. I know he’s house’s main source of food anyway but usually just via ‘stolen’/bought lunch at work. I’m talking about when they lived together in season 2 and his ass made macadamia nut pancakes for breakfast on a WEEKDAY. and pot roast for dinner. so much effort and for what…because house was gobbling that shit up…? yes he complained about it every time but he also had an extra fork on hand when house came home to stuffed peppers. it feeds into his need to be needed complex. the intimate dependency of someone relying on you for sustenance. also why they used food as the metaphor for why house was craving his presence. this is what I mean when I say that wilson deserved a housewife era. house went stir crazy within like 12 seconds of doing all their chores because he requires Stimulation™️ but I’m completely convinced that it would act as enrichment for wilson. if I told him to go make me a sandwich he’d roll his eyes and then passive aggressively make a delicious one. actually that literally happened in son of a coma guy. case closed

imagine being named after the goddess of protection and growing up thinking the only way to protect the people you love is by putting yourself between them and the bullet. every bullet. & when the people you love die, you start to love the gun—every gun. you lock yourself in a room with a bomb to save the world and life is beautiful because you’re going to die.
then the bomb goes off and you live.
