The day finally came and left... and Mortarion was a nervous wreck... internally. He could hear the voice in the back of his mind berate him as he couldn't be in there with her... back on Barbarus he had heard enough women giving birth to know it was unpleasant. Another reason his felt that bubble of anxiety was he was afraid of what he's helped made... he wasn't like a martyr like Corvus who would probably be beside himself if he impregnated a woman. But, he knew they were hand crafter abominations as Father liked to spout that they were all made with some design in mind.

He snorts as it would probably have been better to make them all Eunuchs or some genderless parody of the human form then maybe he would have spared you whatever the two of you made. Mortarion was also scared of it being some abomination... something malformed and unable to live long... he was scared that you would be traumatized and the fearful small boy in his psychi was so scared that he would be alone again.

"My Lord Primarch." A midwife comes out and averts her gaze as he looks over. She took his grunt as her to continue, "She's ready to see you."

Mortarion walked into the sterile room now empty of the once many occupants before it all started and he left. He looks at you being pale and in a sense deflated... he's studied up on what this will have done to you. You're topless as there on your chest with blood clinging to the bottom of their tiny feet is a newborn... your newborn... his newborn... his throat tightens as he looks at the way you look at him now lovingly.

"Mortarion." You whisper, "They're so precious."

He walks closer and looks down at the baby on your chest. His chest feels so tight... as you look at the helpless creature... no not creature... it was his baby too... he couldn't deny the fact any more. The peach fuzz on the top of their head... the fact they had no smell... his tears hit your shoulder as he ghosts a finger along the tiny spine of their back, a spine probably no wider than one of his fingers, in fact his fingers are probably wider. He kneels down, his eyes darting over the face that looks so old at the same time of being so young. "I... I shouldn't..." He wheezes as he didn't deserve to create... he was no crafter but none of them much less him deserved to create life.

"Do you want to hold him?"

Mortarion shook his head as he held your head against his letting himself silently weep in a sense of joy. "I dont deserve it."

"You will hold them one day... and they wont want to be put down by their papa."

Mortarion makes a strangled noise of pain as like Calas they'll look up to him but its so much different from adopting someone to making them. Your arm half hugs his head as you smile tiredly, soothing him as he whispers to you about how amazing you are.

Studyblr prompt Week 1 - My Study space

I usually study either my desk or by bed, but nobody is seeing my bed on here, and I did up my desk at the start of the summer to make it ADHD friendly, which I have been dying to show off, so this is the perfect opportunity to do so.

The peg board is not only aesthetically pleasing, it is an ADHD saviour. The clear storage means that I can actually see stuff so that way I dont forget that they exist. The pretty notebooks add the aesthetic which draws me in to study and makes it seem more appealing to my brain.

The temporary dumping box is where I throw things when I don't have the energy to put them away because it prevents mess and when I do have the energy, I don't have to pick everything up around the room because they're all in 1 spot.

A lot of people put up pictures of their goals, like their dream university, or the exam results that they want. I put up pictures of my grandparents (that's what's behind the hearts). If I turn out even 1% as amazing as any of them, I will die happy, because they are the most incredible people ever. I'm considering shuffling things around a bit so I can put up a picture of one of my aunties because she is beyond amazing and she is currently doing her masters in psychology (the field I want to go into) while raising her kids and being a carer. I don't use Pinterest for inspiration, my family is more than inspirational enough for me. I could go on for hours about how extraordinary each of them are, but I'll save yous the time.

The water bottle hole was probably for a pen holder, but neither of my pen mugs fit and it gives me a designated place to put my drink so that I don't forget about it, which is good because last time I checked humans need water and not just lucozade and coffee.

There are even more highlighters in the drawer because they are one of my special interests and I love them (I have more in my school pencil case and a full pencil case of highlighters)

Everything is visible with no covering or lids because I will forget that they exist. Adhd object impermance is a BIG thing in my house, and when I say big, I mean it.

The tumb tacs and paper clips are once again part of a stationary special interest that I have had since I was around 8

The different shaped sticky strips and sticky speech bubbles are for annotating things in a way that gets my brain to actually want to look at it. You might be recognising a recurring theme here. If it isn't right infront of me and looks fun, my brain doesn't cooperate.

The day planner is because I want to try to work out a way to do bullet journaling that works for ADHD. Like the way that it was originally created for. But all of the resources are aimed at neurotypicals and nobody can find resources on how to us it for ADHD anymore, even though that was the whole purpose of them (this is not hate towards any neurotypicals that use them, this is hatred of the fact that so many of our resources get shared to neurotypicals and then we lose access to them)

This was longer and more rambly than intended, but I'm both mentally and physically exhausted so I'll probably edit this tomorrow because once it goes into the drafts, it never comes out.

EARTHSPARK SPOILERS ABOVE AND BELOW!

For a kids show, I'm glad that they're able to touch upon serious topics like the effect war has on individuals and, in this case, species. I think TFA is the only notable TF show that wiggled its finger and made clear yo these are fucking aliens. But even there it felt one sided, as in, robots finding organics gross.

In TFE, you get so many perspectives on the Cybertron- human relationship and I love is so much. You have people who embrace it and accept each others differences. You have those who have internalized xenophobia but don't notice. People who don't care and just wanna be themselves and live in peace. And those who outright HATE the other species.

Visuals: the first half had its animation mainly focused on action. and while there is still action here, the conclusion of the season offers a lot of cinematic shots which tbh kinda took out of the immersion but are awesome screenshot material. it gets really dark as well, and there is a shot with Bee that stood out to me, where he's hanging from a ceiling, and his expression is full of fear. It was grand.

Audio: You still have the same synth wave music (which I like) but you also get some amazing sound designs for animal based alt modes, like Grimlock and Tarantulas. Nightshade unfortunately has this repetitive sound playing whenever they fly, (hawk screech) since they don't have a motor IG??

Characters: The viewer will be introduced to Hashtag, Jawbreaker and Nightshade. They have distinct abilities and personalities. (By now, I can already tell that my favorite Terrans are Nightshade, Jawbreaker and Twitch lol). They're interesting characters and their dedicated episodes were quite entertaining.

The most notable new characters who actually have their dedicated episodes and voice lines are Shockwave and Tara. Shockwave, as you can see from my memes, is a raging classist and racist. He's pure evil. But I really enjoy him because he's so smug. Imagine TFA Shock's smugness but in higher dosage. I fucking love it. HIS VOICE HAS SO MUCH RANGE. reminds me of an evil DJ subatomic supernova. His eye also reminds me of shin godzilla's... an unrelenting blank stare, unnaturally wide. Tarantulas on the other hand takes a much different spin than his BW counterpart. I think he joined the cons and stuck with them is because he wanted equality for all (during a short convo between Megs and Shock it's implied that it was their original goal). He's sick of the war and just wants to survive. He wants to be himself. He does these typical cinema spider noises like hisses, or gargles in his alt mode BUT OH BOY in his robot mode he's one fine fella. And his voice. chef kiss. i think it's British, but can't pinpoint what region.

Plot: Earthspark is gonna build upon the concept which TFP poorly introduced: A villan human faction. TFE is building upon and further fleshing out what they tried to do with M.E.C.H. The execution so far looks very promising.

They have taken their time to introduce G.H.O.S.T for a whole season, and put a bit of effort into showing that the organization is made out of individuals who have different motivations.

Their official motivation is understandable. The "good guys" wanna protect civilians from threats, like bots who break shit. But ofc there are some nasty people in the ranks who are lowkey masochists lol

Also, since Cybertronians are known to the public, it deepens the complexity of the conflict. Xenophobia against Cybertronians ranges from this cooperation to just regular people, who are mad that their planet was turned into a battle ground.

Hello Cas I've wanted to ask this for a while and I didn't know who to ask and I'm hoping you can help, I see a lot of posts about how we shouldn't allow AI to study fanary and fanfiction and I wanted to k ow why I'm just curious and want to understand I see its a boundary for a lot of people and I don't really get why. I mean nothing hurtful or offensive and I'm sure there is a good reason I just don't know it. Also I wanted to tell you that I think it's soo cool how you do ballroom dancing as a hobby and how much I love your microfics I look forward to them everyday much love ❤️

Hi! No problem at all! There's a few reasons.

First, AI creating fanart and fanfiction is super harmful because it reduces the demand for human-created works. Which is horrible, because humans spend so much time and effort writing and drawing, while AI can do the same in minutes. AI works always have flaws, and by increasing the supply of works, it gives human creators less credit for the amazing and superior work they do, that they spend a lot more time on.

Think of it like fast fashion- people want clothes so bad they'll take the cheap, factory-made stuff, but they don't realize that this causes poorly-made clothes to be the norm, and it takes money (credit) away from designers, workers and everyone else in the industry. (It's also horrible for the planet.)

Creators deserve so much love and credit for what they do, because it isn't easy, and to be replaced in minutes by a machine that creates work that isn't as good is upsetting and insulting, you know? AI gives the illusion that with a few clicks of a button, anyone can instantly create something akin to the work I spent 10 months on, and that's just not true.

Second, using fanfiction to train AI isn't okay because, simply put, it's stealing. If someone uses my writing to train AI, they didn't ask me, and I essentially did labor for them by writing the work they're using- I deserve pay (though I wouldn't want it, I would rather them just not use my work, because of reason three).

Third, it's also important to know the reason why people are so touchy about a lot of fanfiction issues is copyright laws. When we start sell fanfiction, bind and sell fanfiction, etc (which sometimes AI users do) it could bring up issues with copyright infringement, because we're making money from creating work from a copywritten work. This might allow fanfiction to be censored and policed, which would basically ruin the entire thing.

Last, it just takes the humanity from it. Fandom is supposed to be a community. Writers, artists, and readers all work together on so many different forums to create works and discuss their favorite fandoms. To me, it just feels icky that people want to take away that community (intentionally or not) by computerizing the process.

Digimon Frontier: Island of Lost Digimon

This was actually pretty fun! It wasn't the strongest Digimon movie by a long shot, but it was good as a Frontier side story. It was nice to see them revisit the whole "beast digimon vs. human digimon" conflict that they didn't do much with in the show. Also, I got to see my Digimon World 3 friends again! They were super cute.

Notes:

I enjoyed Izumi humming Funiculi Funicula in the intro to the movie. For a split second I thought it was Bolero and was about to throw hands lol.

What the HECK were they riding on in the opening? It wasn't really a Trailmon it was more like a Mike Wazowski themed rail cart. They, of course, never explained.

This movie's aesthetic was really weird. I don't know if it was necessarily higher quality animation. It kinda looked like they took the usual level of quality and put a "cinema" filter over it or something. Also some of the "shots" were weirdly cropped and almost blurry. IDK if that's just because there isn't a clean copy on the internet or if it was a stylistic choice. At least the characters are super on model, which is more than I can say for the show!

Speaking of animation quality, they were a little too obsessed with using CGI in this movie. It looked really bad and added nothing lol. Also, what was with the neon disco rave tanks? They felt extremely out of place.

Once again we get a lot of unnecessary focus on Izumi's butt...

So many new (or new-ish) background digimon! I kept being like "ooh, who's that?" I really liked the bunny-with-razors-for-ears design. It's funny how they debut new digimon in the movies and games, it almost feels like they're testing them out.

The original title is more like "The Revival of the Ancient Digimon." I can see why they would change that cuz it sort of feels like a big spoiler.

Kotemon and Bearmon were super cute. It was exciting to see their anime forms. They had really nice voices as well (in Japanese and English). Kinda wish I had watched this before DW3 instead of the other way around, whoops!

They used the exact same plot of "evil character encourages war to resurrect evil monster via the sacrifice of many" in the isekai series I'm Standing on a MIllion Lives. Makes me wonder how many fantasy series have used that. It must be a more common trope than I thought.

Why does this one digimon look like Impmon and My Melody had a baby?

The whole "beast vs. human" thing still feels silly when half of the "human" side doesn't actually look that human. I could totally see Dinohumon be considered a "beast" in a different series. (Maybe it's a metaphor for how racism is dumb and makes no logical sense).

The visual of digieggs flying and baby digimon being all over the place due to the ongoing war was interesting. I guess they couldn't go to the Village of Beginnings because the island is blocked off from the rest of the digital world?

One CGI scene literally looked like the 3D maze screensaver from Windows 98 lol

Kinda rolled my eyes when Bokomon said that Murmukusmon (what a mouthful) could turn into any digimon. What OP power will they think of next? Also, we only saw him digivolve into two digimon, so I'm not that impressed.

That final battle was pure chaos and I had a lot of trouble following wth was going on. I didn't know why AncientGreymon/AncientGarurumon were suddenly there so I googled it. Apparently it was due to "the power of Kotemon's sacrifice and Bearmon's tears"...riiiight. Shounen movie logic.

AncientGreymon looks amazing and AncientGarurumon looks..aight lol. I'm totally biased to prefer beast-like digimon

Kinda anticlimactic to have two "spirits" do the dirty work instead of our heroes, not gonna lie. Maybe if we had met AncientGreymon and AncientGarurumon before and had some level of emotional attachment to them it would have been more impactful.

Right, so I watched the first episode of ION cause of the constant discussion of it on this blog, and... it's pretty neat!! I like it so far, and look forward to watching more episodes of it. While watching I kept in mind all of the complaints said here and yeah, I can certainly see why so many people are off-put by the show.

The artstyle is definitely... different. It takes some getting used to, and I suppose some aren't able to tolerate it at all. The way I think about it, I just see it as how solely the ION characters look. Like, objects within/from that universe have much more detailed/human-like faces, it's normal there. Now, if someone were to apply those faces to any other object show I would Absolutely Hate it. But within ION? It's fine!! That's how they're supposed to look, and their designs fit their personalities in my opinion. (Honestly I was expecting worse, thought it would be go-animate levels of uncanniness ahah).

Also, Cracklin's character is what I suppose some would call "weird". Really, he reminds me of a typical young anime character swooning and obsessing over a teacher/mentor figure. I do see why some people would call that annoying or creepy, but I'm personally indifferent to it. Chief doesn't seem incredibly bothered by it and the two of them seem to have a forgotten history that might be influencing some of Cracklin's behavior towards him.

Thinking about the entire debate on people's distaste or praisal for this show is a bit complicated, but I'd summarize it by comparing it to the parts of an animated MAP. Like yeah, people really like when different parts flow and mesh together (PPT2, YAG, OLO) and sometimes are amazed by really flashy or skilled parts that stand out (ONE, TNM, MO) but there's often one or two artists with particularly striking styles that... just aren't as popular. They're not the normal status quo and don't quite match the interests of all the viewers. And there's nothing wrong with any of that, really. Some people don't find some artstyles as appealing as others, and would rather stick to what they're most familiar with or change it little. Some artists want to explore outside the usual medium, and incorporate their own styles or experiment with something completely new. Both of those are okay!! It's good to have creativity in a community, and it's fine to only stick with the parts you enjoy most. The two sides of this discussion are equally valid, and there's no need to get upset at one another over them, yeah?

Anyhow, I'm excited to see how the story develops and what exactly happened at that power plant, the beginning bits of the plot are already very intriguing. The backgrounds are superb by the way, they add so much to the vibe of the scenes. I also quite like the animation too, it's not constant frame-by-frame movement but it isn't a simple slideshow either, there's lots of varied expressions/poses and tweening. Overall, I think this show has lots of great things about it and really does add a unique flavor to the OSC as a whole!!

✨ An Analysis of Shiki Misaki ✨

Neku, Beat, & Josh were all bitter towards the world because they felt like they couldn't be understood. Shiki stood out from them in that she outright wanted people to perceive her in a different way than she actually was.

It's interestingly ironic since she's the most accepting & empathetic out of the whole group. She's more than willing to encourage others to open up so she may understand them, & yet, she's very unwilling to show her "true self" out of fear that she's not good enough to be cared about in return. It shows how unworthy she feels in comparison to those around her. She even puts herself down at several points, subtly or not.

She was patient with Neku, gentle with Beat, & she'd likely be kind with Joshua. But she believes she's not like them. She shouldn't be herself. If she were, it'd expose just how unimpressive she truly is. Nobody would like her & her friendships would fall apart.

However, as good as her intuition is, she's very incorrect about that. Eri, who's apparently a large source of her self-hatred, adores Shiki. Claims to be nothing without her. Neku, a guy who hated humanity & pushed everyone away, warmed up to Shiki in a matter of days because of the cracks in her façade revealing someone he could have better respect for. He outright says he likes her as she is & to discard the notion that she has to be like Eri.

Shiki - insecure lil Shiki - caused a domino effect that led to the city she dreamed of basing her future in being preserved. It was Neku who proved Joshua wrong in the end, but it was Shiki's influence that inspired Neku to become better to begin with. She's simply that amazing.

Sadly, being able to change & befriend the previously uncaring Neku didn't fully clear her doubts. This led to the telling question, "Once you see the real me, will we still be friends?"

"Count on it. You'll always be Shiki," wasn't something she expected to hear in return.

I theorize that during the ending, she was only mostly shown & not completely because her arc wasn't finished. It symbolizes that her journey towards self-love has not yet reached its conclusion. We can't see Shiki at her (literal) fullest until she's ready to accept herself.

NEO is where that changes. She's living out her dream, being herself down to a fashion sense that might seem tacky to others, but feels cozy to her. It's what she feels about herself that matters, after all, & she's finally acknowledging it. This is why I like her new design.

Shiki used to base too many of her feelings on how others may or may not feel about her, but now that she knows she's good enough, she can be confident in whatever she does. Wear sneakers with a dress & oversized cardigan, then top it off with large, nerdy glasses? Sure, why not! She even succeeded in starting her fashion brand with flying colors. Now she can simultaneously make herself & others happy! Sad as it is that Eri didn't show up alongside Shiki, it goes to show that the seamstress can be iconic even if her bestie('s appearance) isn't involved.

Also, contrary to popular belief, Shiki's not shy. She was awkward when it came to herself & her needs, but was loudly eager to befriend & aid others. She was mostly super capable of putting her foot down when she felt disrespected. That strength can't be faked. It's no persona.

Shiki Misaki's bountiful optimism & compassion already helped her stand out. She never needed to be someone else to shine bright.

When we finally get to see her eyes, we note that they're big, beautiful, & brown like Eri's, but with a different hue. Shiki's hue. 💚

Dromura lovekids designs

I live in AU where Draal and Nomura both stay alive and move to new jersey with other trolls. Some time later they get married and mix their living stones together. While the stone is growing, they are working through their mental traumas and misunderstandings, preparing to become parents (who would have thought that thirty years would pass so quickly with these classes). None of them could know in advance exactly how many children they would have. Maybe two? Of three?? But one day they become parents of seven children - six daughters and one son (I think it's very cute) . Unexpectedly, but nothing can be changed here. For an midblood assassin spy and a troll-killing machine, being parents was not easy, but who said they would give up at the sight of difficulties? Hah, they're both too stubborn. The children inherited their father's hot-tempered nature, their mother's good taste in music and a craving for adventures on their stone asses from both parents. Of course, they found their vocation in different crafts and it was reflected in their appearance, as you can see. I also have an idea that some time later, Balustra, Draal's mother, moved to a New Stone Heart and began spending part of her time with her son's family. In addition to useful things like the use of weapons and the geography of the old world, she taught her grandchildren how to trade and the girls tried to sell their brother in the market. /it was a bad idea because everyone except grandma was punished, but it was fun/

Can you imagine a creep situation in which they all start whistling together "In the hall of the mountain king"? Their father doesn't have to imagine it. /Sorry, Draal//not sorry hehe/

The dynamics in which the daughters inherit the physique of the father, and the son looks just like his mother?? I'm totally in love with that. Also I think that Dramur have similar fighting style as Nomura but instead of khopesh he uses a jade axe or spear /I didn't decide it yet/

And their human! versions. I am of the opinion that Draal is a black guy with white dreadlocks was in human form so he and Nomura would have lovely blasian kids^^ Btw all of my friends fell in love with human!Marble :) And who is your fav?

AB, Mogwix and Co.

This was a piece of art did by one of the other amazing players at my D&D table for The Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign and I love it! The robot with the hat is my PC, Environmental Analysis Automaton A-B4 or AB for short. They're a Circle of the Shepherd Druid trying to find their creator who went missing at the Witchlight Carnival under mysterious circumstances.

The other member of our party include Buttercup, the minotaur college of lore bard, Pan, the half elf college of eloquence bard/fey pact warlock, Mogwix, the goblin wizard, and Goramorn, the dragonborn way of the dragon monk.

I've been playing them for a while now and thought I'd share some of what I wrote about their creation.

Also, after this campaign wraps up we'll be starting a Curse of Strahd campaign which we will be streaming on twitch! Let me know if any of you are interested in watching or at the very least would like to hear about my PC for that campaign.

It’s one thing to work with automatons, maybe dabble in trying to awaken one for a period of time, but this? Do you realize what magic you’re tampering with?

What I’m doing is just taking the awaken spell and to its most logical conclusion. Where exactly am I going too far?

To create a sentient creature they require a soul. You think you can just create a soul out of whole cloth?

Julian:

Last I checked quite a number of creatures create new souls every day, oftentimes by accident. 

Elf Male:

You know what I mean. Those are living, breathing, biological beings touched by the divine. This is a machine. Whatever programs or even magic you put into it, all it will ever be able to do is pantomime mortal emotions. It will forever be soulless unless you give it one or somehow deluded yourself into thinking you could create one. 

Julian:

I am making no claims to my personal ability to isolate the soul. My only claim is that something doesn’t require biological parts to have one. 

AB has no baseline instincts, not even survival. They were initially programmed for cold, calculated analysis of raw environmental data. All I’m doing is attempting to give them the ability to ask why and the choice to find the answer. 

Curiosity, in its purest form. That’s where it all starts. I give them the baseline ability to recognize emotions in others and the rest writes itself. How they decide to react will ultimately be up to them as they grow to understand and empathize with the world around them. Now look me in the eye and tell me that’s not any child you’ve ever met in your life.

What exactly am I doing wrong? I’m not hurting anyone. No bodies are being exhumed. No souls have been stolen. No deals have been struck. All I am doing is what every wizard has done which is explore the full extent of our reality. 

Now either you’re right and what I end up making will merely pantomime mortals. Or I’m right, and I will have proven that souls are not given to us by some divine entity. What we call a soul is created within ourselves for each other. No gods required.

The awaken spell is the baseline of all of this. Perhaps that’s the best place to start. The magic innate in nature is separate from the divine. You’re not so different. Metal is merely refined elements found in nature. Just because you’re man made shouldn’t exclude you.

If it helps: "this thing" is a cellular phone (a cell phone or just a phone for short). It's a small device designed to allow for communication over long range. Yes, I watched it yesterday and I totally love it. It was an emotional rollercoaster, I cried a few times and then smiled wide to the screen-

I totally LOVE all of the future designs DAMN LOOK AT RAINE THEY LOOK SO AWESOME (also can we talk about them and Eda switching earrings? I love that little thing). LOOK AT HUNTER AND WILLOW TOO, matching Flapjack tattoos!? I'm not crying you are-

I'll miss TOH a lot, I hope we will get some more content because it was AMAZING - story, characters and how they showed it - all of it 💜

And I could honestly go on and on for HOURS about it because there's so many little details that should be mentioned:

I loved the final fight with green and red fighting for place on the screen - these are opposing colours, which is already cool, plus, their meaning is different than usually! Green is life, peace, safety. Red is alarming, dangerous, unsafe. But here? Green is gooey evil and red is lively red grass and YOU FEEL IT INSTANTLY. Despite the usual connotations with these colours you see what's good and what's bad and I LOVE IT. Also, we have two types of light in here - glowing, cold, blue Belos' eyes and Luz's warm, yellowish light. THESE ARE OPPOSING COLOURS TOO. And forms - crystallized goo forms the sharp-edged web, triangle-based forms. Grass is soft, it doesn't have sharp edges. Same with eyes and lights - eyes have corners, somehow squeeze into the whole picture and lights just fly around freely so you can see their perfectly round shape everywhere. Awesome usage of colour theory and shapes <3 And of course I can't skip the thing that light was needed to release someone from the puppet form, right? Luz is the light. It's literally her name. Something that looked like an aesthetic thingy and the least useful spell in combat (after all, fire, ice, plants were used more often) turned out to be THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. I literally have a temptation to rewatch the whole show just to analyze the lighting in different scenes, damn.

I love how the Collector is designed, too. If it was any other villain in the world, their sudden change would feel weird and meh, but they are a KID. And they're created and presented like one. They do not understand things, they just want to play and do not get why others don't wanna. As a bullied child, who had no friends for a while, damn I understood them so well in that moment. They changed as soon as people started treating them like a child and not like an enemy. Isn't it lovely? Also, the change was SO WELL MOTIVATED. Collector didn't decide to help them because Luz died. Damn, for how long did they know each other? Probably not more than an hour, children get attached easier, but I doubt it'd be that easy. Collector just UNDERSTOOD WHAT DEATH IS IN THAT MOMENT and realized that their actions had, have and will have consequences. Again, I LOVE it.

Final scene with Belos is awesome, too. He is himself to the very end. Tries manipulating Luz after all of the stuff that already happened - showing himself in his "original" human form, pleading, making himself a victim... And then it starts raining. He is dissolved by the acid which made me literally gasp. I mean, damn, you could put it in a Disney series!? TOTALLY AWESOME. There was something sometime about witches dying from water, dissolving in it, so... This scene hit hard, had its meaning and was totally amazing and well planned.

And the final final scene in the future. I rewatched it SO. MANY. TIMES. There's so much to look at, so many actions going on in the background, daaaaamn <3 It makes me go "why couldn't we see more, stupid Disney" EVEN HARDER!!! World building is so well done and you can see it even in a little scenes like that,,, All of the characters grew and glow brightly. About glowing - THERE'S LIGHT EVERYWHERE. These scenes have lots of soft glows and lights around that are not only making the atmosphere, they have a meaning, because light, Luz, was what saved the demon realm.

I adore Hunter being a palisman maker. Literally no better job for this lovely boy. And I love that he has people that love him - Willow and Dadrius (I literally screamed when I saw Darius next to Hunter when everyone else had their reunion [and I also loved Amity-Alador reunion. With loser Odalia standing right next to them, all grumpy]). I love love loooooveeee working on a taking off sigils feat. Darius, Raine and Alador. Two ex-coven heads, who started rebellion, and amazing scientist, inventor, who learned how to choose his own way (isn't his history similar to the Amity's? Escaping Odalia's influence and getting to start new, better life...). And the best part - they finally succeeded, mixing healing magic with technology. SUPER COOL (Little Darius-Alador interaction was super cool, too, of course. Alador has NO CLUE so much- And Darius with this little chest touch and sliding away... Please we all know they're fruity don't we?). I'd love to hear more about all of the things that happened in between, when Luz was finishing school, because there's still so much possible content!

Also I cannot skip the masterpiece "they're almost gone! Say BYE!", obviously targeted to us, fans, not to Collector. But... It made me thinking. Aren't we like Collector, too? Taking the characters, placing them in the fanfics, fanarts, fancomics, aus, PLAYING WITH THEM? It probably wasn't supposed to be that deep but... In my head it became that deep LOL. So... Are we Collectors?

Okay, okay, I could analyze every single one of future designs, too, because I adore them, I could analyze Amity's designs change, gradually switching from Odalia-like to Alador-like, but I wanted to answer short and made quite an essay here already- So maybe, to summarize: I loved the finale. It was well planned and well done. It's amazing that they managed to fit it all in with limited time, without it feeling overly rushed and/or unsatisfying. I feel satisfied with the ending we got.

I watched a TikTok that said this but it needs to be said here... Rise fans, please don't hate on Mutant Mayhem or boycott the film just because you don't care for the designs!

(Very long rant ahead)

I get it, this happens with new designs in any show. People get attached to a certain look and don't wanna give the new one a chance. Some recent examples of this are the Monster High and MLP redesigns. Sadly, TMNT fans have always done this whenever a new show comes out. They immediately criticize the new show without even giving it a chance because they don't like the designs or they changed the personalities. And it's not just the new shows, sometimes fans of new shows will look down on old ones because they aren't like the one they like (2012 bashers I'm looking at you).

And yeah, I get it, it's hard to broaden your mind to new and different content. I was one of those people and unfortunately still can be sometimes. I thought Rise looked like it'd be really weird and dumb at first, but when I actually sat down and watched it I realized that "hey, it's actually good!" and quickly fell in love with it. The same thing kinda happened with the Bayverse movies. Everyone was bashing them so hard bc the designs were hideous (and yeah... Idk what the artists were on when they made my boys because they look like they eat human flesh), but when I watched them I was actually pleasantly surprised. Now they're definitely not perfect at all, I'd say they're mediocre at best, but watching them was still a fun experience because I got to laugh at how ridiculous everything was. And even though the boys weren't written that well, they still had a spark of their trademark teenage dorkiness and that's honestly what kept my attention.

I'm not saying that you should like every single new version of something just because other people like it, because yeah sometimes the new stuff is just bad. My point is, it's really easy to dismiss new incarnations of tmnt (or any movie or show) because of biased first impressions or because you hear other's negative opinions and just assume they're right. The problem is if you don't go and see for yourself, if you don't give it a chance, you could be missing out on something really special. I would hope that Rise fans especially would understand this, seeing as our show was frowned upon by so many just for being different. Let's not have history repeat itself, my friends. Whether or not you like the designs, you should at least give Mutant Mayhem a chance. Because you never know, it could be amazing! And even if it's not, at least you'll know for yourself.

Had to unfollow an artist I otherwise admire and love because they've turned to Designer Vegan nonsense ( "Designer Vegan" = "shameshameshame how DARE you even think of meat you are evil | animal husbandry is literally slavery | humans are eeevil creatues | go vegan or you're not a true abolitionist." Yes. Seriously, that last one's not made up). It's just sad. As a person who supports animal rights and human rights, I hate the "no true scottsman"- fallacy of Designer Veganism soooo much. My sister is vegetarian and I would drop milk if an actually sustainable alternative was made; I'm also a vetrenarian's granddaughter and my vegesis took FFA.

Slavery is keeping another of your species as property. It's wrong. It's always been wrong it's just that early humans got up to some messed up habits. It's a primal behavior we've learned to articulate as wrong and should have been commanding as such long before the Gospels put in that part about Jesus okay-ing a slave-owner for being nice. Slavery is wrong the same way cannibalism is wrong. A dog or a person eating a horse is not cannibalism, a dog eating it's own is. For what in animal rights is considered "unhealthy", disturbed" and "stereotypic" behavior- in human rights it's what we call "amoral" and "wrong". Although, to call this behavior "unique" to humans, is untrue. They're a very different animal than us but different ant species absolutely go to war, take slaves from rival colonies, and even farm aphids like we do cows or sheep.

Animals owning other animal species is called animal husbandry. Humans beings are one of those animals who practice it. We are not evil, heartless creatures for eating and taking from other creatures. We are tactful like the ants, we are intelligent and thoughtful like the monkeys. We are as social as dolphins or parrots. Call it a 'gift' or a 'curse' but our ability farm animals, not humans, other animals, is our rite as our own species, hence why we do it throughout our many different cultures. I don't see how this is comparable to colonialism or slavery. It is an instinct. It is our nature. And...isn't it so amazing that we (humans) recognize that at all? Isn't it wonderful that we, an animal, similar in so many ways to dolphins, parrots, elephants, pigs, monkeys and apes, can make a world where we don't HAVE TO kill if we don't want to? Where we can make homes and habitats for animals that don't 'benefit' or 'care' about us personally at all just because we know it's the right thing to do. That we can try and problem solve for ways around factor out the cruelty all together in animal husbandry? That we've developed a way at all for some of us to live without animal husbandry at all - even save animals from it? Would our world be so different than it is now if somehow orca whales had grown legs and opposable thumbs? Wouldn't they have developed tools and made societies? Wouldn't they have gone to war and committed war crimes against other orcas and had orca races and cultures? Wouldn't they have a distinction between other animal's rights and their own rights as orcas? Probably, if their behavior in their wild pods indicates anything. Orca whales partake in blood sports while they hunt and personally torture their pray.

But back on topic and-also-kind-of-on-that-same-thought; humans as a species are omnivorous. As a species we can choose not to eat meat (no, humans can not live souly on meat; Peterson) and probably without milk and eggs. However, not every individual human has that luxury.

Not every human CAN go vegan. Some people are allergic to the plants that give you proper protein or fat. You could never force a person with a severe nut allergy to go vegan. No- your allergies will not be "cured" if you "just stick to veganism" even more. That's malnutrition. That's an eating disorder. That will eventually kill you. Same with people who take way better to veganism- don't force them to eat meat or drink milk if doing so makes you physically sick.

Beyond that, Veganism is an entire lifestyle. You shouldn't be shamed into it/ lead into it on falsehoods. Vegans do not have to be evangelists about animal's rights by degrading the lives of other humans. Vegans are not abolitionists because different animals we coexist with ARE NOT fellow humans. We don't live in zootopia - species is not the same as race. They never will be the same unless we literally find aliens who we can interbreed, communicate, and create cross-cultures and transpecies customs with.

Veganism should be made available for everyone who wants it and not be a money-intensive endeavor where you must eat a VERY SPECIFIC way to be a "true vegan", or an emotional one where you have to hate the animal you are in order to love animals around you. There's a reason vegans are seen as stuffy, elitist, privileged bullies- the vegans who aren't exactly like this just don't last, OR they're just unable to practice their veganism openly. Why would you when the biggest name isn't a buddhist monk but an animal abusing pedoKaren screaming at Gordon Ramsay? If she doesn't hound you about being a "fake liberal" for your refusal to disown your nut-allergy cousin, that self-proclaimed carnist' blog on tumblr will conflate you with her anyway. So what's even the point of confirming your lifestyle when it's a mark of "shame"? It's unfair.

So to sum up:

Human rights and animals rights are not comparable. Switch out humans w any other species of animal, and we have the same problem.

Animal rights are real rights. They should be a priority of all humans given the kind of animal we are.

Animal husbandry is not at odds with animal rights.

Animals rights are not the same as human rights because human beings are all one species. Millions of types of animals are not.

We mustn't compare ourselves to species so unlike us, but slavery is wrong to humans because of the kind of animal we are.

DON'T force people with allergies to eat what they really shouldn't be eating.

If you go vegan, know that other people can't. Live life as the best truffling pig you can.

If you love meat and dairy, know that other people don't and in some cases can't. Red meat sensitivity is real, shut up Jordan.

If you eat meat and dairy maybe do your homework. Nothing hurts from finding out how your food gets to you.

Be cool and support family farms who really do love their animals.

If you force your dog or cat to go 'vegan' with you, you are 100% abusing animals.

Vegan candies are delicious, actually. Just very sticky and still not safe for dogs.

We have to coexist. We are all humans and we all love animals and the world we live in. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

It's amazing how many times Xiaolin Chronicles retreaded something already done in Xiaolin Showdown, only to do it way, way worse than the original it's trying to copy. It feels like a fever dream.

Because it is a fever dream. A fever dream, which isn't even funny. There are reoccurring jokes from the original series and even when new ones are introduced they are either disgusting or not funny. Oh, there is also a third category, which I would call 'what the hell this is so inappropriate Why'. In the last category, I would include each Shadow-Chase interaction in which they acted like a couple even tho they're both aware Chase as Shadow's creator is more like a father to her

But yeah, I don't know if it's a lack of creativity but even whole episodes were based on already existing ones.

We have Clay-centered episode in which he has to reunite with a sibling, but in Chronicles, they replace Jesse with a ginger-haired boy named Patrick.

In 'mi temple mi casa' Chase Young traps monks in their new temple with a spell that would make their fears come to life. Sounds familiar? DREAMSCAPE from the original series. But I don't get it why would they change Kimiko and Raimundo's fears. What is an even greater mystery to me, why did they redesigned and renamed Clay's granny. But yeah the fear of being pinched hard had stayed the same.

'Heylin Within' episode is simply 'Ring of the Nine Dragons' rip-off, but instead of Omi, who's the victim of a magical cloning ring, Ping-Pong gets tricked into using it by Shadow.

Furthermore, 'Rocco Cho' is an allusion to 'Chucky Choo' episode. Dojo meets an old ex-friend and throughout the episode, he has to learn how to get along with him. However, I must admit Rocco compared to Chucky is more friendly. I took a liking to Rocco because he actually didn't do anything wrong and that flashback from his and Dojo's childhood was cute! Idk maybe I want Dojo to have a normal dragon-friend... By the end of the episode, Rocco and Dojo seemed so happy and I get the impression Dojo can count on Rocco. So, actually, I regard this episode as a slight improvement. not that bad.

I've already mentioned 'Chase lays an egg' bears some resemblance to 'The apprentice'. Jack tries to be a monk. Fails due to his greed. Yeah, that's the plot.

If I think about it, 'Who shrank Master Fung' has some aspects of 'the Sizing up Omi', but it is Master Fung who has to learn how to operate in a giant world.

Additionally, in 24 ep of XC the showdown between jack and Kimiko is THE SAME as the showdown on Bailey's farm with Clay vs Jack (Big as texas episode) It's only a different location. And in XC jack ends up being licked by a hideous CG cow head. Yeah, it doesn't have a body. Only floating head. Creppy. But as anon said, fever dream.

And if we're at it - there were some 'out of touch' scenes too. Chase throwing his hair to each side as if he was in a shampoo ad? Monks trying to remove a magical shrimp from Jack's body but before they could do it they have to see all the other things he ate that day? gross. Chase hugging his egg that a couple of minutes before.... got out of his body? (but ngl Shadow cringing over it was somewhat funny). (crying) Chase calling the Egg the future president (what the heck). Oh and don't get me started with the episode in which Dojo goes to the future and accidentally alters the reality so in the future Dragons use humans as slaves/pets. FEVER DREAM.

Also, I find it the most irritating that XC considers almost every animal magical? Able to talk? Even though Magic Stallion (horse that run down the rainbow to join the monks) has cool design I find it quite weird that Clay's grandpa was so cool with it? No reaction whatsoever?

Oh, and if we're talking about re-occurring jokes then here we have Dojo running away from the Snake Lady because she wanted to go on a date with him or smth

And what's the deal with Muffinface?

How come a trembling little doggy turned into an aggressive talking dog with a certificate? Not only Muffinface bites all of its opponents is an active member of jack's evil group but it hits Jack and their own owner Tubbimura with a newspaper!

Moreover, I got the impression Muffinface has a certificate in psychology? Just look at the photos behind Tubbimura. Besides, it seems as if jack and Wuya go to therapy together?

Ok, maybe they should strengthen their partnership but the term 'relationship issues' suggests Wuya and Jack were on couples counseling of some sort. if that was supposed to be a joke, that's not funny. Especially the bit in which Wuya was mad at Jack because he didn't want to accept her friend request on Facebook.

Xiaolin Chronicles feels as if it was a fever dream because there is almost no continuity to its universe? No cohesion? And I would complain about it ALWAYS. Chase's changed backstory. In that regard, XC is way way worse. Instead of coming up with something new the show depended more on something that already existed but unfortunately, they altered the characters of each person in the show it barely feels as if they were real. Only Jack of all the characters stayed consistent.
