NOT MINE, but and absolute incredible theory on Ghost in the Trees found on Ghostbc subreddit that is too good not to share. Credit to VisAeternitatus on Reddit.

“Buckle up. You'll either find this interesting, or tell me I'm insane.

“The "Ghost in the Trees" VHS tape sitting atop the stack of other videos in the movie caught my attention because it simply doesn't fit and doesn't have anything to do with anything that we know of. Kinda like the cardinal sitting on top of the gravestone in the Square Hammer video. At the time, so random- yet it was a hint. We see this VHS tape twice during the movie, and it's sitting on top of an Infestissumam era tour video ‘Haze over North America Tour 2013’

“I googled "Ghost in the Trees" and came across this psychedelic garage art-rock album by a band called Thee Oh Sees. There's a song of the same name on their album, "The Masters Bedroom is Worth Spending a Night In". Other than carnal delights, why might one spend a night in the Master's bedroom? Usually something to do with conceiving the antichrist, right?

“The album cover and subject matter seemed Ghost-related enough for me to continue going down the rabbit hole, so I listened to the entire album. I have no doubt in my mind that TF is familiar with and has listened to this, I get a lot of raw vibes from it that one might perceive in all three Nihil-era songs.

“So why is this here, and what does it have to do with anything? Good question, and I honestly don't know but I just thought I'd throw out some possible breadcrumb trails. This is all some pretty loosely related stuff, but when considered all together who knows?

“1. I immediately noticed a similarity that the devil on Thee Oh Sees album has to the devil in the center panel of the red tour backdrop that started going up during Square Hammer (third photo).

“2. Proximity to the Infest era tour video along with some Papa II-related stuff in the movie also had me thinking "antichrist stuff". No, not that Copia is the antichrist. Rather, that his twin might be.

“Why? Well, during sister's life flashback scene, right before the twin birth is shown, there are a series of hidden images. We see an eclipse, a still shot from the Year Zero video of a hand reaching up towards a church window, a b&w still from the Dance Macabre video where the devil arrives, and two separate shots of Infest era ghouls. (These images go by so fast that they are practically subliminal!)

“So why are we seeing clips from a Papa II era song, and shots of his ghouls? Why do we see a cut to his face on the stained glass stage backdrop during the movie when Imperator is talking about how everything is "cyclical"? We even see Infestissumam in the background of the VEEPS bonus video.

“So I've seen different theories. Papa II is returning! Copia is the antichrist! Etc, etc.

“I think showing all the Papa II stuff could have something to do with the antichrist, not that Papa II is coming back. Infestissumam was about the antichrist's time on earth. Not to mention that some religious people believe that an eclipse supposedly occurs at the birth of the antichrist (and we are shown an eclipse right at the birth scene!)

“Also, we've seen a lot of antichrist type of imagery related to Copia, he's got the 666 tattoo, etc. If he's a copy (Copia), then his twin could be the antichrist.

“3. Back to the red devil background that appears during Square Hammer. There's a winged pope figure shown above the devil. I thought it was Copia, to be honest. But he's wearing a beehive shaped mitre, and the same shaped mitre appears above him, larger and wrapped in flames. This is actually a Papal Tiara, not a regular mitre. It used to be worn when a new Pope was "crowned". Why would a demon winged Copia be wearing this on a backdrop at the end of the tour? He was already "crowned" in Mexico City. And who appears at the Ministry doors at the very end?! Someone who is about to become the next Papa?

“4. I also wonder, who raised Copia's twin? And how could Copia's twin be the antichrist? Do they have two different Fathers, or was it during some ritual?! Does it have something to do with Papa II? Maybe the twin grew up influenced by him in some way?

“5. I also wonder if "Ghost in the Trees" is a musical stylistic hint of sorts, in relation to the Papa II era. This album is psychedelic post punk garage rock. It's an interesting listen and is all over the place stylistically. "Psychedelic" is frequently used to describe aspects of Infestissumam, too, as is garage rock and surf rock, even.

“I recall an interview where TF said that Phantomime was where he was leaning to take the sound for the future album. Well, there's two specific covers on Phantomime that have similar flavor to Thee Oh Sees- "See No Evil" by Television (often described as post punk/art rock/garage rock) and "Hanging Around" by the Stranglers- which has VERY psychedelic/garage rock vibes.

“So do what you will with that, but I'm wondering if the next album is going to have that element (not in the way the Nihil-era songs do, though!).

“Thank you for reading this mess and if you have any better ideas, please do share. I just wanted to get this off my chest.”

Tobias never ceases to amaze me, and I have no doubt there is something to “Ghost In The Trees.”

How is the eclipse affecting you?

I immediately heard 'they don't really care about what others think anymore.' I'm getting that this eclipse really helped you step back into your authenticity in a powerful way. You might've had to revise and purge old wounds that had their roots in childhood. Any addictions of yours (if you have/had any) have been addressed because of this grand 'purging of the old and unwanted.' It's like your defense mechanisms have taken a backseat because of your inner work around the root of your addictions (maybe your addictions were part of your defense mechanisms). You might've had to live with a certain darkness looming in the background, no matter what you did in your life or where you went in life, and it seems like you've really had to look the root of this darkness in the eye. The eclipse didn't really give you an option; you simply had to. Let's talk about this darkness a little, shall we? It seems to me like you had a stark lack of a healthy masculine figure as well as a lack of a healthy feminine figure in your life. You didn't have much support as a result of this, you to felt or still sre felling disempowered in your life as a whole. THIS is what the eclipse helped you to wake up to. Through the chaos that you're experiencing right now, you'll find exactly what you need to nurture yourself (maybe for the first time ever, for some of you). I feel like you guys might end up tending to the health of your root chakra as a result of this inner work.

Your guide to getting through it like a soldier-

-Care for your anxiety. By that, I simply mean don't deny or suppress your anxiety; see where it's coming from, feel into it, and really sit in it because what you feel, you heal.

-Use EFT (emotional freedom techniques) to help yourself really sit in difficult emotions and/or anxiety.

-ALONE TIME is a need!

-Find ways to 'throw up' emotionally. Like, for example, have a hardcore dance session by yourself at 3 am to angry songs if you have been feeling angry lately. OR you could write all your emotions down onto a paper and tear that paper up and then have a big cry session. Whatever allows you to FEEL your emotions, go do it.

-After your heavy 'purge sessions,' seek things that bring you comfort. Indulge in some TLC if and when you can 😊

How is the eclipse affecting you?

You're going to have a 'real awakening' this eclipse season 😬 So, apparently, you've been going through your life blissfully unaware of your wounds and how they were blocking you from living a far better life. You operated under the impression that your life as it is right now was good just the way it is and honestly… a reflection of your full potential. But you couldn't possibly be further from the truth. It's like this eclipse was a rude awakening for you to realize just how limited of a life you were leading. Must've been a difficult thing to process? Yes? Since your old cycles have been blowing up in your face lately, you've been in a process of empowering yourself and are slowly opening up to new aspects of yourself that you previously weren't aware existed, the parts of you that are deeply emotional and intuitive. Doing this will really boost your strength and resilience in general. But there's some good news I have for you. You're on your way to feeling much more satisfied in your life, sprinkled in with great relationships all around you. It's like you're headed to a more aligned life. It's beautiful to be honest. It's obviously going to come after this intense period of awakening ripples out into a plateau though after a period of internal discomfort.

So, how can you survive this period to get to where you wanna be?

-Slow. Tf. down. Take your breaks and pace yourself. Easier said than done but pacing yourself will really help you through the chaotic energy floating around right now. Walk slower than usual, eat slower than usual, stare up at the sky and daydream when you're on a bus or something. Do romantic stuff (not necessarily with a partner, simply for yourself).

-Take some time on a regular basis to tune into your emotions. Learn how to feel again. It's really important for you right now and also doing this will greatly expedite your journey as well

-Replace some of your social time with alone time. Use it to reflect on yourself (this might feel way out of your comfort zone by the way).

-Do abundance affirmations (or all areas of life) and affirmations for forward movement.

-listen to subliminals that bring you a sense of abundance in all areas of your life.

-Find ways to feel active in your own life. Dabble in main character (MC) energy. See what it means for you.

Writeblr Intro!!

Figured I should do an introduction for my little crevice of the internet! 

I go by HoneyBe, or just Honey, or just Be, or really any other name you feel like! I mostly use she/her, they/them pronouns, but feel free to use whatever. I’m in my 20s and on the AroAce spectrum. I’ve been writing on and off since middle school and I’m hoping to get better at improving my skills, because 12 year old me didn’t care about that but 20 year old me does. I’m hoping to find (or build) a little community to support and help each other with all the writing things. Mostly though, this is just me gaslighting and guilt tripping myself into thinking that by not writing and posting, I will disappoint a nonexistent audience on the internet and not just myself, because apparently that’s the only way my brain will cooperate with me. 

Couple other little tidbits about me:

Big fan of the found family trope. Literally will make me squeal at a highly obnoxious volume.

LOVE extensive world building. I want to know every detail of a magic system and how a planet operates. I will listen to you rant about lore for hours, just please let me do the same every once in a while. I am begging, please, I want to tell you all the things.

I’m a little funky photographer trying to start her own little funky photography business, mostly to give myself more time to travel and write and also to get out of my full-time retail job (it’s pure hell and I hate it with an unholy, unmatchable heat of a thousand suns).

I love flowers. They’re just so pretty and as a little honeybee myself, it’s part of my job.

If you mention dragons, you will summon me. I have an obsession with the magical creatures and it knows no bounds.

My Main WIP, or I guess world, is what got me into writing in the first place, and I’ve been messing with it for years. You’d think that would mean I have it decently fleshed out, right? Nope. Unfortunately, The Plot keeps escaping my basement and causing a train wreck. If anyone has better restraint suggestions, let me know. My neighbors are starting to get concerned.

Anywho! The whole world is called The Seven Realms, or as my docs are titled, 7R. I know, so original. She wants to grow up and be a series with little series siblings, all connected in one Big Family. Seriously, I have OCs all over this world’s history and very vague vibes, aka, The Plot, to go along with them. Here are my two main ones.

Eclipse of War Chronicles (EoWC)

The Realms are in chaos. A war started nearly a hundred years ago, still raging today, has wrecked both sides. The original intent of the war has long left everyone’s mind; it’s now a fight over territory and unification. The Realms border on complete and totally collapse from the strain of this ongoing blood bath and neither side refuses to admit defeat.

Project Viall, created during the hight of the war, was set on creating superior fighters. After many failed attempts, two successful subjects were created from the genetic experiments.Trained side by side to be flawless and merciless loyal weapons of death, they end up on opposite sides of this vicious war. Both intent on destroying the other, while their partner and closest friend hides behind the mask. Bonds are tested. Secrets revealed. Loyalties made and destroyed as two partners threaten to destroy the entirety of the Realms in their hunt for blood.

Legend of the Ancients (LotA)

The Fallen Dragons (supposedly book 1 of another series)

A brutal war has left the dragons all but extinct. To preserve the species, the remaining dragons have gone into hiding, leaving behind a subspecies borne through the war to fend for themselves: the Tanimoriem. Generations later, no one has seen or heard of a dragon, leaving the Tanimoriem as their only remains to once was. Knowing little of their history and being hunted simply for being kin to dragons, the Tanimoriem learned how to fight viciously and keep to themselves, earning a reputation as vile, unfeeling demons.

Accepting a bounty mission, Ryuk, a seasoned Tanimoriem, gets more than he bargained for. He had been told this was another monster that needed killing. A dangerous beast. Instead he’s met with a child who finds his horns and wings fascinating. Ryuk is forced to look after the child until he can figure out what secretive plot is brewing, because it might just involved the Tanimoriem.

Of course, my goblin brain has given me plenty more snippets and random characters in different times in this world that I have yet to do much with. The world of the Seven Realms has consumed me for years and I have been shown no mercy. I’m planning to do a proper intro post to each WIP and their characters at some point… *puts twenty reminders in phone to write intro posts*

sometimes i giggle when remembering ace was going around telling people hed make whitebeard the pirate king (twice in canon; first when meeting luffy at arabasta, second when fighting blackbeard at banaro island) while said man was on a wheelchair. parental love so overwhelming it made him go delulu.

AH, I know, it's so cute. What's funnier is that I don't think he actually ever thinks Whitebeard will be the king. He's not dumb; he knows Whitebeard is very ill and old. I think a part of him simply doesn't want to acknowledge it as he's only just gained Whitebeard as a father and doesn't want to think about losing him.

There's this really great post about the Ace novels (here, which is where I've borrowed the quotes from) that basically sums them up. A big take-away is that, in joining the Whitebeards, Ace realises he doesn't actually know what he wants.

P. 159: [Thatch asks him] “You want your reputation to surpass that of the Pirate King, but you’re not interested in the One Piece. You don’t want to break the code either. What the hell does your flag even represent?” [And Ace answers] “I don’t know. Honestly, I thought I did, but not anymore.”

Sweet baby boy Ace realises he doesn't want the title nor the OP, so he simply redirects those desires onto his "new dad." In fact, Ace has known all along that he didn't actually want to be Pirate King, but he felt like he had to become it in order to shuck his father's identity and gain his own, good or bad. That's partly why he was so reluctant to join the Whitebeards in the first place: replacing one father figure with another would hardly help matters.

P. 224-225: “Whitebeard inviting him to be his son had seemed to him like another ‘father’ attempting to take control of his life. But […] now he understood the word ‘son’ a little differently.”

When he actually thinks about it, I'm sure Ace wants nothing more than to see Luffy be king. But he's so overwhelmed by all the love he's getting from his new family and old friends—he's only just started to accept that it is love—that he's like, "What am I supposed to do with this?" So he returns to what he knows, and decides that the best way to show his gratitude is to make Whitebeard the Pirate King. It gives Ace a means of being useful while eclipsing the persona of Pirate King Gold Roger with Pirate King Edward Newgate, which is good for Ace, who simply wants to get out of Roger's shadow.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Ace hates Roger at all, just the public image of him. (Okay, maybe there's a little bit of hate because of what happened with Rouge, but that's simply misdirection—Ace blames himself for that.) If they were ever to meet (perhaps through some time travel shenanigans), I could see Ace having all the manners of a feral house cat: desperate to be let in, but hissing and biting at every move Roger makes.

Anyway, wow, I've gone off on one. Point is, YES, it is VERY cute. It has the same vibes as, "LOOK! This is my brother Luffy! He's a menace! His bounty's the highest in the East Blue!"

Idk if this is a popular opinion or not, but so far TTPD feels very Red-esque to me.

Like Red is THE taylor breakup album, and the GP says she writes a lot of breakup songs but I genuinely believe that Red is her only TRUE breakup album. Like yeah, all her other albums have heartbreak elements, but they are few and far in between (1989, rep, lover). Folklore and evermore were sold as fictional albums ofc so she always had the excuse of "it's not real".

Midnights reflects back on her life and explores a variety of themes...1989 is about shaking off heartache and new beginnings eclipsing your past woes (I think The Very First Night perfectly describes the central theme of 1989) etc.

I think TTPD is about to be her next full fledged breakup album. The thing with Red is that imo Jake was her last BIG breakup that really screwed her up (insert ten minute song here). Harry (18 y/o teenager), Kennedy (uh younger teenager), Tom (possibly PR, definitely rebound) And Calvin (Harris) just didn't do that for her.

Hits Different very explicitly mentions how much she simply didn't gaf until it came to Joe. It's her longest running and most stable relationship till date, and probably also her healthiest at some point. She deffo had plans about him, and she had a lot of time to sit and think and WRITE.

TTPD is obv an autobiographical album, and the last non-fiction album where her pen game was the centrepiece was Red. She says that she's never relied on songwriting as much as she has for this album...we should all be afraid.

Idk if TTPD will necessarily SOUND like Red (I low-key miss that sound) but we surely will have a very similar era. Her playing Red (the song) before YLM yesterday cemented the theory in my head. Someone on Twitter said that Joe is gonna get Jake Gyllenhaalified and I second that. Whatever is gonna happen, the main theme of this album is gonna be her own heartbreak.

Except instead of a passionate, fiery romance that crashed and burned...we're gonna hear about a relationship that was overwhelmingly monochromatic near the end. Red vs B&W. Color symbolism drives me INSANE.

Theres something so poetic about it?? I'm not even sure, how to describe it!

It was Dark Sun, that killed him. It was a version of someone, he considered as valuable as the dust covering his books.

He was deceived and murdered by someone, who bore the face of his servant. Someone, he considered beneath him, a mere plaything in the face of immortality.

And he died, by being thrown off a cliff.

He has the power of creation. He is the closest to being a god as he can be. He is an immortal being, that fought and survived a storm of destruction, seeking to plummet his universe into the deepest abyss.

And yet, he was killed like it was nothing. Sun did not even bother to do it himself. He simply let him fall.

The most ironic part is, that it's not Sun that killed him. Sure, he was the one that threw him into the depths, but that wasn't what sealed his fate.

It was his own hubris. His arrogance left him to believe, he was invincible, and it cost him everything.

And yet, even in death, he still manages to send a message, voice sounding just as prideful and smug!

His ending was a quick, unexpected thing.

But despite that, it was perfect Because of the irony.

The universe truly seems to have a sense of humor.

Dark Sun thinks all Eclipses are just as unruly as Moons, and Lord Eclipse views his Sun as lesser as can possibly be. BUT exactly like you said, because of Eclipse's own hubris, he let his guard down and paid the price for it. He cared so little for his own Sun that he didn't clock any of Dark Sun's acting, he just thought he was looking at something that wouldn't fight back.

AND YEA YEA YEA HIS TREATMENT OF SUNVANT AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Hi do you know any bl dramas with characters like ai di from kiseki, ray from only friends, and black from not me?

ok so I've been thinking about this all day and have come to the realization that I am shit at recommending things lol but I'll try!

Ok so I think while these three may feel somewhat similar, they're actually quite different! But trying to find the lowest common denominators among the three, I think we're looking at characters who are operating outside of the law/doing crimes, not the best at interpersonal relationships, and/or try to do things in their own way.

First thought is HIStory 3: Trapped (2019), just because it is a lot like Kiseki: Dear to Me insofar that it is a Taiwanese BL about gangsters, though the crime aspect takes more of a backseat compared to Kiseki in my opinion since Tang Yi's gang is trying to go legit. You might like Jack from that!

3 Will Be Free (2019) also is tonally similar to me to the shows you mentioned, with a focus on crime and complicated relationships. Ter might be close to what you're looking for!

Manner of Death (2020) I think fits the vibe also. You've got the organized crime side of it, you've got the red flags are sexy side of it, and then there's even the social commentary side of it too. Tan would be your best fit.

I also thought of The Eclipse (2022) just in terms of like the kind of political commentary it's got going on, which if you like Not Me, you might find interesting, but I'm guessing you're probably already familiar with it based on the shows you've mentioned lol

Long Time No See (2017) also came to mind simply because it's about organized crime as well. It's been a bit since I last watched it so I can't quite remember how well the characters fit into the theme you've presented, BUT if you want to watch a crime based bl, then it's there!

Laws of Attraction (2023) might also be a good fit! Charn I feel like, while maybe not being too similar, at least bears resemblance to the characters you've presented

- Hallway, Ryoutei Academy :

"Are you sure about this? With the lingering danger around you?” Reiji asked, as he looked at the blond woman in front of him, who had her head down indicating she is hesitant, too, about this. “Yes Reiji-san. Running away is not a solution, they’ll still find us in the end.” with all the braveness left inside her, she answered looking directly in raven hair’s eyes. Sighing, he pinched his glasses up from the middle finger of his gloved hand. 

“You are right. Such types of public places will lower their actions, and I’m actually proud of your courage this time … even though it’s weird for me to say such things, especially to you. Alright I’m leaving, be careful.” with that he left but didn’t forget to keep glancing back until the petite woman was out of his sight. 

“I hope the game first-bloods are playing, ends soon. I have got a bad feeling about this” Reiji muttered to no one in particular while walking towards the direction of his classroom. 

– Classroom : 

Yui walks into her classroom and remembers that her first period class today will be English. She reminds herself to get her notebook, textbook, and handouts ready as the teacher walks into the room and announces that they'll be having two new transfer students and one of them is in their class.

He then asks everyone to take their seats so that he may introduce the new transfer student. The teacher explains that the student is not planning to transfer into this particular class, but they thought it best to still introduce him to the rest of the student body. 

"Hehe, it's nice to meet you. I'm Shin Tsukinami" Yui looks up curiously as a man with short ginger hair walks in and politely introduces himself as Shin Tsukinami. 

The teacher continues on to say that since Shin is a transfer student from England he will be receiving lessons in a special classroom until he is caught up to speed. Regardless, the teacher tells the class that as Shin is now a student of their school he encourages the other students to treat him courteously.

The teacher also brings up the idea of showing Shin around the school, to which Shin interrupts the teacher by asking him if it would be alright for him to choose someone to show him around. 

"I thought it would be nice if that girl there could show me around the school." Pointing towards Yui's seat, he cheerfully asked if she's willing to show him around and with a little hesitancy, she nodded to his request. A bright and big smile spreads across Shin's face as he enthusiastically tells her he'll be looking forward to spending some time with her. 

After the bell rings for lunch break, she moves out of her class to grab some cranberry juice as her dizziness was still there. Later, in the hallway after Yui returns from the cafeteria, Shin approaches her and cheerfully calls out her name which , for sure, surprises her. 

"Shin-kun, what are you doing here?" Her question made Shin's smile drop as he asked if she was not happy to see him. "Aren't you happy to see me?" With a little hurt in his voice Shin starts to pout which definitely made Yui a little awkward and at the same time blush. 

"N-no. It's nothing like that, I was just surprised to see you here." She explained calmly as Shin closed some distance between them before his smile returned. "Don't worry, I was just joking. I came here to ask if we should start with our tour and if yes then let's start with the rooftop." 

"Uhm, it's not a problem ... but the rooftop? Why?" Yui's question catches Shin off-guard as he shrugs it off by simply saying that he wanted to see the moon, isn't it time for a lunar eclipse? 

A little conflicted with her gut feelings, which is giving her bad vibes from the time she entered the school today, she still nodded and didn't question further. In the distance, Shuu watched the pair go up as a tense expression shadowed his face. 

– At rooftop :

"It's cold here" Yui mutters, while Shin's main focus is on the moon as he stares at it and murmurs something related to it, under his breath. 

His attention then turns towards Yui, whom he observed trying to rub her palms but her juice box was coming in between, and a chuckle escaped his lips. Walking towards her, he brought his palms over hers and blew over them, his gestures caused her face to turn into a crimson red and again he chuckled at her expression. 

"Ah- I'm sorry but you looked like you were about to freeze, that's why I did it." Shin apologized for his sudden actions as Yui looked down towards their hands, embarrassingly. But unfortunately or fortunately, for Yui, their small moment ended as soon as a commotion was heard from a distance. Releasing herself from his grip, she saw a boy and girl arguing. The way they were talking made it obvious that they were a couple for sure.

Couple fights. Yui carefully looked at them as suddenly something struck her. The girl was one of her classmates that sat beside her and if she is correct, she is always seen with some kind of wounds or bruises. She was a loner or that's what everybody called her. Her name was Ahn Chaewon and she is not Japanese.

"People these days are too troublesome." Shin replied with a bored yet irritated tone. Yui glanced at him once and then looked at the juice box she had in her hand. 'Only a little juice is remaining and throwing it over him won't cause much trouble I guess.' with that thought, she threw her cranberry juice box towards that boy and it hit him directly on his face with the remaining juice splashing all over his body. 

"What the– who threw this box!?" He yelled out angrily and Yui shuddered at his voice but building up some courage she stuttered, "I-i'm s-so-sorry but–" "We thought you were a trash can that's why we threw it, but looks like we weren't wrong in the end. You are a trash can." Shin cut her off in between and replied sarcastically. He whipped his head in Yui's direction and smiled gently but only Yui knows what type of scary expression he is hiding behind that smile of his. It was clear in his eyes. 

"You crazy bitc–" the other boy shouted as he brought his fist towards Yui but was stopped in the mid air as Shin caught it. "Now now, how dare you hit her" The ginger haired scoffed but with a cheerful smile on his face which made the former back down in fear. A chill ran down his spin due to the scary aura surrounding Shin.

"I-i'm sorry. Please spare me" the boy begged as Shin started to twist his wrist and made the latter wither in pain. 

"Please spare him, I'll apologize for his behaviour." Chaewon, who was in a shocked state came out of it, told Shin to release her lover. "Ehh-? Wasn't he harassing you, then why are you begging for his life." Shin was surprised by the girl's words, she wanted to save her lover even though he hurt her? 

"I know but I truly love him. And I can't watch him getting hurt even though we are about to break up" Chaewon calmly explained as her eyes flickered with gentleness. "You really are naive huh? I don't care about that, he tried to hurt her so I'm not–" 

"Shin-kun it's okay, leave him" Yui took a hold of Shin's hand and looked at him with a small smile. Sighing, he gave up on both the girls' request. Chaewon gave him a smile of gratitude and took her boyfriend out of that place. 

"Thank you Shin-kun … for protecting me" Yui gratefully tells him and keeps smiling. "Huh? You really are a strange woman. But a single word won't work as thank you" Shin winked at Yui before bringing her hand into his. Yui shifted awkwardly under his gaze as she stepped back a little. 

"W-what do you mean?" Yui questions as Shin cheerfully smiles and pulls her from the grip of her hand he was holding. Their bodies were only a few inches apart and Yui gulped in fear. 

"I mean ... I'm new to this town so how about you show me around, tomorrow after school?" He playfully replies and releases her when her face shows a state of relief. 

'S-such a tease' Yui thinks to herself before Shin asks his request to her, again. In this all ruckus she almost forgot about the danger surrounding her. The Founders. But she can't reject Shin because he just saved her and on the other hand, she doesn't know what will those vampires reply to her request. 

"Yui?" Shin calls out to her again, worriedly. Hesitatingly Yui struggles with her words but someone answers on behalf of her. 

"No, she won't" both turned their heads towards the direction of the voice and Yui is surprised to see the eldest of the Sakamaki wide awake but there is something different about his expression today. 

"Shu-san!?" Yui shouted his name in surprise as he approached them and quickly put himself between Shin and Yui.

"Are you her boyfriend?" Shin questions but Shu just ignores him and holds Yui's hand, telling her that they'll leave this instant. 

Suddenly a man approaches the three and calls out Shin’s name. Yui, Shu and Shin turn to see a man with white hair that has dark purple-brown fringes at the tips, who Shin immediately greets formally as older brother.

"Allow me to introduce. This is my older brother, Carla—" "Carla Tsukinami. I am Carla Tsukinami" But before Shin can introduce his brother to Yui, Carla interrupts him and does it himself. 

Yui quickly bows and introduces herself as she remembers that there were two transfer students coming to their school, so she’s not surprised to learn that the other is Shin’s older brother. She thinks to herself that Carla seems to be a very overpowering and intimidating person.

While on the other hand, Carla's eyes fell upon Shu who was watching them with an intense gaze. 

For the last time, Shu announces that they'll be leaving before dragging her outside with him. Yui calls out Shu's name and tries to apologise hurriedly to Tsukinami brothers on behalf. 

Carla just nodded while Shin looked at her with an unpredictable expression. Shu roughly brings her to the corridor and warns her again about the danger surrounding her– no, them. At this period of time, they cannot trust anyone. Yui, dumbfoundedly, looks at Shu and he sighs at how naive and innocent she is. 

"Didn't I tell you, only two Founders were remaining and these both appeared at the same time of the situation … especially during this lunar eclipse which will appear in both demon world and human world simultaneously. Do you think it's a coincidence?" At Shu's sudden remark, Yui bows and apologizes for making him worried. 

"But we still don't know if they really are founders?" Yui questions. Before their talk can go further, Reiji interrupts them. "He is right. But we have a problem, the principal just called me and said that Yui must assist them until they become accustomed to living in Japan. It's also for our school's reputation, we can't deny them." 

"In other words, she needs to show Shin around the town as per his request." Ruki finishes Reiji's statement and appears beside Yui. 

"Yes, but for her safety one of you or us will observe them from distance." Reiji makes everything clear to Yui, about the situation she is trapped in.

"Well brother … what do you think about her, for me she is way more dull than I expected. Will she be useful?" Once they are out of sight Shin smirks and asks Carla if he thinks that Yui is usable. "To me she is useless, but she is the only reason we are saved. That woman will help us to store our lineage." Carla’s voice is firm as he answers that she’s completely useless to them, and Shin frowns at his brother's answer. 

'Even though she is useless according to my brother, she is interesting to me, her reactions are worth watching and.... I have a very interesting plan hehe.'

I had a question that I've been trying to turn over in my head, what do you think about Guts' feelings towards Casca? To me, the way I read the story its always seemed that Griffith (since GA fr sure) has been the sole person that Guts has 100% romantically+ platonically loved in that soulmate kind of way. Sure, casca is very important to guts as a friend, comrade, fellow survivor of all they've been through, but i have trouble really reading guts feelings towards her as truly romantic... I do think Casca herself caught real feelings for guts, but in all their scenes together I kind of read Guts interactions with her as him processing.. his own trauma in a way? like take whole cave thing, where they even kiss and have sex; when i think of that scene i really think of it less as, casca and guts getting Together as a couple. but rather two friends sharing their traumas together in a mutually healing sort of way. the fact that they do get physically intimate together doesn't necessarily mean that guts actually is in love with her I believe. like I think that whole scene just touches on that trope of how lots of men are Only able to bare themselves emotionally/share their traumas through physical intimacy— usually with a woman.

And especially right now as it stands in the story I definitely think that guts doesn't see her romantically at all... and the sole reason guts feels strongly about getting her memory back isn't because he's hoping to get his "lover" back but rather simply feels like he wants to do right by his close friend and comrade, especially how particularly horrible and traumatic the eclipse was for her.

I don't think Guts is in love with Casca, and I think that's pretty apparent in how he behaves throughout the story. Their sex scene definitely had a friends hooking up vibe to me, and they're probably meant to have potential as a couple in theory, but in practice it's totally unrealized.

The only reason why the pregnancy was so hard was because Bella is human, and her nudger was half-vampire and super strong. Meyer also wanted to draw associations with the historical dangers of pregnancy:

Meyer wasn’t even thinking about sex in the first place. She was thinking about the plight of pregnant women in a patriarchal world where women’s healthcare has been historically subpar.

I honestly do not agree with the fandom’s hatred with the pregnancy plot. Without it, we would just have Bella’s change into a vampire and her adjusting to vampire life. It wouldn’t be bad, per se, but it’s not great and interesting conflict, nor would it connect to the romance.

With the pregnancy arc, there are multiple barriers to Bella and Edward’s union in ways Bella simply changing into a vampire wouldn’t. For one thing, the threat of the Volturi becoming involved would still be on the table. With Vampire!Bella, they literally would have no excuse.

Edward was canonically not mad about the Bella/Jacob kiss in the mountain. Even through Bella’s idealized POV, we know exactly when Edward is chill and when he is NOT chill about the Bella/Jacob connection.

Edward was deliciously jealous/murderous in these three instances:

Jacob’s “I’d rather see you dead than a vampire”

Jacob forcing a kiss on Bella

Jacob warming up Bella in the tent

Yes, he was jealous/hurt over Bella’s choosing to kiss Jacob and liking it. But he did tell the truth when he told Jacob that he would accept it if Bella chose to kiss Jacob. Because that is exactly what he did, forgiving and not blaming Bella for it. When Bella wept over leaving Jacob, he held her in his arms for the whole night. He even worried whether Bella should really be with him after all and had to be persuaded otherwise by Bella.

Also, in Eclipse, Edward admits Bella becoming a vampire would be great for him, and that he would love Vampire!Bella. He just doesn’t think it’s the best option for her.

"Bella and Edward Would Not Last!!11!!!" Round ♾️ and Beyond

Bella went comatose for almost a week, and Edward went to the Volturi to kill himself. He admits he would have returned and was actually planning to. They lasted approximately six months apart from each other. Even after the wedding and Renesmee, they agreed to face the Volturi together, knowing they would probably die in the attempt. There is literally no way these two would ever break up, much less after 50 years of marriage.

As for the “boy mom” accusation, I think Bella's (slight and ultimately negligible) preference for a boy stems from:

1) Her parentification issues. A boy she wouldn’t have to take care of the same way she would a girl (see: patriarchy, misogyny, etc.) and

2) Her obsession with Edward. Bella wouldn’t want or have a child on her own...except, of course, if it was Edward’s child as well. Then she’d be happy as a clam, as Breaking Dawn amply proves. Hence, why when she imagines the child, it’s a boy with Edward's brown hair and green eyes. No duh.

What makes boy moms so creepy is that they channel love energies normally due to their husbands unto their boy children. Bella has proven that between going with Renesmee and staying with Edward to die via Volturi, she would choose the latter. And I don’t think that is something a change of sex would change.

So let’s put aside the fact that Bella and Edward apologize to each other a LOT throughout the series for all the shit they have done to each other (Edward leaving and Bella loving Jacob being the most egregious). Edward was begging for forgiveness half the time during the series and Bella straight up called herself a monster for refusing to let Jacob go. Let’s put that aside.

Bella staying pregnant just to feel “special”???? Not only is this non-canonical, it makes no sense. You don’t need to be on the brink of death to be turned into a vampire. Bella could have gotten the abortion and just went ahead with the original plan. Bella stayed pregnant because she wanted hers and Edward’s baby.

Also, Bella endangering Renesmee???? How? They were found by Irina, who jumped to conclusions! Bella made preparations to save Renesmee via fake papers and her going with Jacob. But I suppose since everything is Bella’s fault, Irina and the Volturi do not count.

Ok, let's rumble (affectionate) -

Twilight

I am a fool for pining and the first book delivers. There's a delicious build-up of snarling, huffing and angst before the will they/won't they collides with lust, infatuation and then danger. I was FED. My paperback barely survived the rereads before I clung to the movie. Then I quickly replaced my hc's with each actor as they were announced and loved nearly everyone. The Cullens are a dream vampire family, their house and cars a shiny bonus. Plus baseball outfits. Iykyk. And yes, the soundtrack still fucking slaps. Supermassive 10/10. We'll always agree there.

Breaking Dawn

I wish I could break this in two. Wait, it's my review. I shall! The first: Breaking, the steamy slayyyy! The literal bed-breaking passionate destruction and oceanfront honeymoon bliss were a satisfying payoff for the build-up in Twilight. This is the fantastical, happily ever after shit my teenage brain craved. The pregnancy experience was about as much as I knew about pregnancy, so perfect level of detail. Bella has to become a vampire to save her family? So relatable. And Dawn: The dawning of a new era, where mother and child learn to love, where mother makes the noble sacrifice, where racing through the woods and hopping off tall trees is suburban bliss, where your friend and former love interest falls in fucking love with your kid. I stg, this was a true testament to my own new relationship. The man who stayed, who listened, who loved me and poured wine for me while I literally SCREAMED and SHOUTED at my teen rated book proved a level of devotion that neither Edward nor Jacob will ever be capable of. Still, I place the whole book at #2 because it conjured far more emotions than "UGH," unlike three and four.

But first, an interlude.

Midnight Sun

Edwards POV, my beloved. While Twilight + Breaking Dawn holds all my teenage dreams, this origin story companion is a fanfic indulgence I imagine Stefanie wrote simply to clear her comment box. "Could a dead, frozen heart beat again? It felt as though mine were about to." It's satisfying because Edward made me swoon but not particularly insightful, unless you're in the market for a little Volvo coupe. The car and driver edition of the series, if you will.

New Moon

My boy drives away, sob! Edward peels out of snowy Forks in a cloud of angst, flinching jaw muscles and puppy-dog eyes in the best interest of his clumsy DANGER MAGNET. He's so dreamy! She's so dumb! I'm so sad! Sweet, furry Jacob lights up our world with his bronzed glow and motorcycle tricks, but the infatuation is short-lived (sweet, attractive boy who only wants your happiness? ew.) because hallucinations of a cute, fanged control freak are better. Until he's slapped around by the Volturi. Love the Volturi though - the name, the aesthetic, the evil popeness vibe - good stuff. If only there were more Volturi and less woe.

Eclipse

Danger, Danger! Victoria wants to kill Bella and destroy the Cullens. But worse than that, Bella has to decide between Jacob and Edward. Is she IN LOVE or does she just like-like supernatural dudes who want to make her their property? Who loves her more? Is it like, too embarrassing to get married at graduation? Do I like have any friends? Like, oh my god, what should I do????? Is there anyone on earth with harder decisions to make? CRINGE. She's insufferable and I lost centimeters on my molars in the repeated gnash. The worst.

They're true page--books with the power to manipulate the elements, bend realty, or cater the world to a person's bidding. Can they unlock the secrets their parents have long kept hidden...and perhaps uncover a true magical library in the process?

💜 Okay, so...WOAH. I think, perhaps, this was the strongest, most powerful debut I've read (maybe ever) -- and I've read a library's worth of debuts. It's no wonder this book was nominated for not one, but two Goodreads Choice Awards (Best Fantasy and Best Debut). To be honest, I sat on this review longer than intended; I'm struggling to find my words here. The prose is enthralling, as magical as the books mentioned within. Törzs has seamlessly bound thriller, dark academia, and fantasy together with a raw, realistic cast of characters. The cryptic plot and half-explained world (as the Kalotay sisters barely understand it all themselves) ensnares you from the first page. This book is spellbinding, almost dizzying; a dozen little secrets, waiting to be revealed. The story itself is multilayered but still woven with care; no one element or point of view eclipses the other.

💜 There are familiar fairytale elements that make the story's magic easier to perceive (magic mirrors, a quest, absent parents, a secretive wicked stepmother). Instead of witches and magic wands, the story relies on a powerful source we have in the real world: WORDS. The mythology is careful and precise, and though much of it remains secretive at first, each piece is eventually revealed. The writing style is contemporary, easy to understand, yet the voice is uniquely Törzs' in a way that makes me eager for her next book. There are many themes to explore, too; found family, isolation, the power of books. Törzs took the metaphor "the pen is mightier than the sword" literally, demonstrating there's magic and power all around us. I'll enjoy escaping into this world once more. Added bonus: a sapphic ship and well-executed disability representation.

🦇 Stepping into this world is a little jarring at first. While everything is eventually revealed, you have to let the story carry you for a few chapters before you gain your footing. This is a book that's definitely more enjoyable the second time around. I do think you need to read this book at the right time (I wasn't completely in the right headspace when I started, not that I'll allow that to impact my review).

🦇 I'm afraid to say that the Big Bad and major reveal were obvious, though perhaps they were intended to be. The story isn't about defeating a monster as much as it's about the connections made during that journey. The found family (and, for the sisters, reunited) vibes of this story hold its true power.

danyok vs akkayan (or is it ayanakk) idk lmaooo choose one

WHY THOUGH, whyyyyy ;_; so I obviously love both danyok & akkayan, as well as both gawinfirst & firstkhaotung, but... if I had to choose I'd deffo go for danyok. there are a few reasons for this: firstly, danyok feel more grown, and the stakes of their ship are significantly higher even though both ships have this "we shouldn't be together" vibes which I LOVE, gotta stan a good forbidden romance 😌 secondly I do slightly prefer gawinfirst to firstkhaotung as a pairing, simply bc gawin is a bit higher on my fave actors' list, but also bc their chemistry was way more overwhelming since danyok have a lot of, again, very high stakes moments. also I do think firstkhaotung are kinda too similar, friendly & in sync with each other while gawinfirst have this more different from each other, playful energy off-screen which I tend to prefer in general. and finally, the last point but not the least, I simply think danyok have more impactful scenes. this point isn't super fair bc the eclipse still has a couple of eps to surprise me, but... there has never been a side couple like danyok that has had as impactful scenes to the general storyline in a series. the “dan breaking down during his nude portrait" & the danyok hospital betrayal scenes are WITHOUT a doubt in the top 10, if not top 5, best moments from not me. each scene from that ship has left me breathless, and I DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO LOVE THEM!!! I WAS THERE FOR OFFGUN!!! in comparison, akkayan are less of a punch in the gut for sure, though they are absolutely lovely & definitely one of my most beloved ships of the year :)

IT IS SO TRAGIC- IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL-

THERE'S SOMETHING SO EERY AND HAUNTING ABOUT IT-

A BROKEN GOD AND THEIR FAITHUL PRIEST. A BURNT OUT SUN AND A WITHERING EARTH, THAT SEEKS ITS LIGHT, DESPITE KNOWING, IT'LL NEVER BURN AGAIN.

THE WORSHIPPER, WHO HAS NOTHING, AND THUS CENTERS THEIR ENTIRE WORLD AROUND IT'S GOD. A GOD WHO LAYS ON A CRUMBLING PIECE OF LAND, UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN WAIT FOR THEIR END, YET STILL TRYING TO SOMEHOW REASSURE AND COMFORT THE ONLY ONE LEFT, THE ONLY ONE WHO CARES.

A BROTHER, A COMPANION, WHO BEGS, AND PLEADS, AND YELLS FOR HIS ONLY FRIEND, HIS ONLY REASON TO BE, TO WAKE UP AND DO SOMETHING. IT DOESN'T MATTER, WHAT. EVEN IF THEY TEASE HIM, AND CAUSE HIM TO RAGE, HE WON'T COMPLAIN, AS LONG AS THEY ARE STILL HERE.

A SHELL OF A PERSON, WHO, IN ANOTHER LIFE, WANTED NOTHING MORE THAN TO HEAR THOSE WORDS LEAVE THE OTHER'S MOUTH. WHO NOW CAN'T EVEN RESPOND, AND ONLY WATCH IN FADING DESPERATION, UNABLE TO CRY AND REACH OUT. UNABLE TO TELL HIM "I'm still here."

What messes me up even more about it is their relationship in canon.

They are not meant to be. They are always meant to be miles apart. They are always meant to hate one another, to bite and tear and rip each other apart. Their siblinghood, from the moment it was created, was doomed, not meant to last…

And yet.

They are still here, and they are together, and they care and love, and they beg for it to last.

In any other universe, Eclipse is meant to flash his teeth and leave.

In any other universe, Lunar is meant to long for something that can never be, until it becomes a part of them.

And yet, this time, this one time, it's different.

In this one universe, this single, crumbling place, they'll be at each other's side until the end.

This one time, Eclipse will stay, and instead of flashing his teeth, he'll cry and scream and embrace.

In this one universe, Lunar won't long for something unreachable, won't become a reflection of what they so despise. Instead, though they are unable to answer, they will know how much they were cherished and loved.

This one time, the spiteful creator, afraid of affection, worships and prays.

This one time, the creation, haunted by what they could never have, is worshipped and loved by the one they longed for.

This will be the first, and last time. This will be the only universe, where they mean everything to each other, where they are each other's worlds.

Had their situation been any different, they would kill one another. But as they are, they lay silently in the grass, waiting for the end, for one cannot fight, and the other sees no worth in a world without their god, the only person to get past their walls and reach for their hand.

They are right in each other's arms. There's nowhere else to go but they wouldn't leave if they could. Other Lunar and Eclipse duos could probably not even begin to fathom such a situation.....
