Mizu Headcanons

AN: Broo ive just finished blue eye samurai and im obsessed w it..so here are some headcanons! SHE WAS SO FINE IN THE LAST SCENE BTW UGHH

(I’ll be separating it based on genre eg. angst or fluff)

Warnings: Angst, Contains mentions of death & murder, spoilers! The fluff is x reader

(if you know me irl, no you don’t)

Angst:

- Mizu often thinks about how life would be if she chose to forgave her husband and didn’t kill him

- After Ringo leaving her she feels awful for what she’s done and wishes that she could let go of her revenge path but cannot

- Once Mizu’s “mother” betrayed her and Mizu killed her, she still had the motive of killing her father, but instead of the motive to avenge her mother it was to curse the man that made her live in the first place

- She understood that she never should’ve been born in the first place and was born as monstrous, hence her obsession with revenge. But there is obviously a part of her that wants to live a peaceful life

- She normally has panic attacks but no one has ever witnessed them except Swordfather

- When she was with her husband (the night before the sparring) that was the only time she felt loved for who she was

- She wanted to show who she really was as her husband asked to, and once she did she was called “a monster” and now she’s reluctant to show anyone even half of who she really is

- She overworks herself to the point of exhaustion and most times collapses, forgetting to eat and rest

- Whenever she checks her reflection, she imagines herself with brown/black eyes

- (Canon) she wears the same clothes she wore since she was a child and stitches them whenever they tear

- because of her binder she often has trouble breathing but she’s so used to it she thinks it’s normal

- She once wanted to gouge her eyes out so she won’t witness the looks of disgust when they see her eyes

- She’s entirely convinced that there’s no way she’ll ever be truly loveable. She’s convinced she’s monstrous in every way, from the hues of her blue eyes to the violence she bears

Fluff/Not angst(finally)

- Love language is quality time & acts of service

- Although she’s not aware of it, she has an unconscious fixation with music. Mizu has always been drawn to musical festivals and it both calms and excites her

- If given the time, she normally asks if you want to go to festivals (her unnamingly pleading for you to agree) and her face is relaxed the whole time, her fingers intertwined with yours

- I feel her normal dates with you would be very simple. She’d enjoy just spending time with you, quietly or with small chatter

- She loves stargazing with you. My god. Laying beside each other, feeling each others warmth contrary to the harsh snow as you look at the different constellations

- Actually, you’d be looking at the constellation while she looks at you with a small smile tugging at her lips, while she adores the light in your eyes as you gaze up

- Speaking of holding hands she LOVES to hold your hand, doesn’t matter if your hand is cold or warm, it intertwines with hers perfectly

- Whenever you compliment her eyes she doesn’t believe you until you say it a thousand times

- takes a LONG time to warm up to you, but once she does it is SO worth it

- unconsciously misses your warmth, once sleeping she searches for your hand to hold or for you to hug

- speaking of hugging, i think she can be both spoons but mostly big spoon

- loves resting her head on your chest but loves wrapping her arms around you, ensuring that you are safe

The BAU office buzzed with its usual energy as Spencer Reid meticulously poured over case files, his mind racing through complex connections only he could decipher. Among the team, a shy figure often went unnoticed, working hard behind the scenes. Y/N, the quiet and reserved member of the team, kept to herself, her actions speaking volumes that words couldn't describe.

Spencer often found his desk mysteriously tidied up, papers organized, and his favorite pens neatly arranged. Coffee appeared magically beside his laptop, always sickeningly sweet, just how he liked it. At first, he attributed it to the office fairy, a playful term Morgan coined. However, as time passed and the small acts of service continued, Spencer couldn't ignore the pattern.

One evening, as the team gathered after a long day, Derek leaned back in his chair, eyes glinting with mischief. "Hey, pretty boy, you ever notice how Y/N here keeps your world in order without saying a word?"

anyway: sbk shadow people au 👀?

YOU HAVE GIVEN ME INFINITE POWER

a quick recap of what Shadow People AU is: alternate universe where 1.15, on top of everythin else it Actually added, included a poorly-documented new mechanic where you could summon a black-and-yellow shadow copy of yourself. if you killed your shadow you would get a copy of everything you had in your inventory when you summoned it, but it would also be stronger with each death. if a shadow dies enough times, they can evolve to the point of being able to strategize, to build, and to communicate. oops! theyre self-aware!

there's a lot more to it than that, but ill explain as we go. because my favorite thing to do ever is apply this concept to different mcyt series and explore what might happen, and ive been toying with makin a variant for sbk. SO LETS GOOOOOOO

Viking would use his shadow to dupe materials and as an extra hand when buildin farms, so his shadow would develop to be more work-focused i think. zeroes in hard on a task and will not give up until its done. leave him alone he's got Shit To Do. either Viking gives him a cool mythology name, he continues the season nicknamin scheme to match Summertime, or Avid calls him somethin dumb and it sticks.

Vintage gets Antique. bottom text. i can actually just point at Antique as-is and go "yeah that's her shadow" LMAO. recolor the colored bits yellow and give her her eyes back and Antique is good to go. fun fact: the only* thing that can kill a shadow is their summoner or another shadow. run.

(* theres more than that but this post is already pretty long. spau is Big.)

Ruby is probably where we first run into the idea of "entity corruption", because god knows whats going on with Cherruby. basically if you've gotten corrupted by an entity in any way (eg Scar and Cub havin Vex magic, Watcher Grian, Karl Jacobs gettin put in the time travel blender), that bleeds over to your shadow and can cause... problems. i have a lot of thoughts about how this applies to TSMP specifically, but im squintin at Cherruby going what is your deal because there is SOMETHING messin with zhem and whatever it is is gonna mess with xis shadow too.

Avid would not risk havin a shadow. the most obvious reason is bc his shadow would be Super corrupted bc of basically everythin that happened in Nightmares, but the actual reason is that it would look like Avoid and that would freak Avid out too much :,D

rose suggested Marmalade would have the Old Shadows and OOGHGHHHHH FUCK . that goes hard. basically there's an associated dimension called the Shadowlands, and you can royally screw up your shadow's data by goin there before theyve finished forming for the first time. the outcome is a maxed-out shadow with a god complex that is capable of whatever you think its capable of. Marm might've drawn a connection between the Shadowlands and the Void, tried to use it as another way to get down to the Limbo border when the Void wasn't lettin her in, and instead got the Abyss equivalent. probably just named Void because of initially assuming theyre an extension of the Void itself.

Trog would be the runner-up for the Old Shadows, i think, but also they probably thought about it and went "nah" and forgot to warn anyone else that thats a thing. continues the trend with my Trog hcs of lookin perfectly normal and Not Being Normal At All. not entity corruption, just, like. corruption corruption. somethin broke here.

wait lmao i just realized something really funny and its that Fool's shadow would literally just look like him but all shadow-y. bc Fool already normally has the yellow/gold cracks. solar probably will have more ideas on what to do with this guy but i am proudly announcing that it is now Two Of Them Thursday

i cant decide if Leon's shadow shows signs of ender-ification before he does, or if he stays Completely Normal while Leon mutates. the latter is probably more interestin bc shadows gettin messed with is a pretty common trait in the au so havin a situation of "the shadow is normal while their summoner gets more and more fucked up" is fun. also: shitpost incarnate. this penguin cannot be stopped by any mortal means

i dont know how the tube thing would affect the shadows, is the fun part. like, "mechanically" the way the shadows work is they're tied to playerdata, so the likely idea is that Cloneby would have Cherruby's shadow. that's fun and fucked up!

fun side note: shadows are ground bound. they can do the kingdom hearts heartless thing of going flat to travel up surfaces and fit through spaces but they cannot jump over gaps. skyblock is maybe the worst experience for a shadow ever LMAO

oracle year one born of hope from batman chronicles #5 (published 1996) is hands down the best defridging story ive ever read for a lot of reasons--the first being just that its such a damn good comic in the first place. but every time i read it im so struck by the way it reframes the casual *incidental* violence done to barbara in TKJ, where she's just an obstacle in the joker's way to get to jim (to get to batman) and it's not *about* her. on the very second page of OYO we have this:

the entire page (...minus bruce in the bg up there) is drawn from barbaras point of view while she recounts the incident from her hospital bed. literally recentering her and her perspective, her experience and her feelings. where TKJ sensationalizes and sexualizes the violence done to her we see an illustration of her choice--love for her father, "don't get up"--then the shock and pain of the injury, then the operating room.

and she opened the story with "i cant believe i was such an idiot," berating herself for not looking through the peephole or using the chain on the door before she opened it, emphasizing that she knew better, and its a very human response to being the victim of something like this--almost fixating on a small mistake you made. inside the story its about the grief and the sense of control bargaining gives you--"if only i had--!" and then on the meta level its actually addressing the "well why DIDNT barbara look through the peephole???" (<- the answer being that TKJ never considered whether or not she would have, bc that was less important to the story than hurting her.)

and the next page. god. its masterful:

the balance of OYO being a response to TKJ on a meta level and the genuine story-level exploration of barbaras feelings just in the first 3 pages alone... chefs kiss. the way it addresses the previous bullshit storytelling choices--but builds something new off of them, because that shouldn't be the end of barbaras story.

and its so fantastic bc it doesn't shy away from barbaras ugly feelings...

she's so angry and she's allowed to be. and thats also what makes it such a good defridging--that its a resonant portrayal of becoming disabled. anger, grief, humiliation, shame, fear, the absolute *slog* that is recovery, the realization that your independence has been compromised... it really reckons with what this means for her in that moment and moving forward.

just posting this one bc i love her...

and the crux of the story is barbara taking control back over her life, barbara not feeling helpless anymore. its a superhero origin story to its core and its fantastic at what it does.

and i mean... i do always feel iffy about this part:

the juxtaposition of her wanting to do this without batmans help with her, well, unknowingly accepting bruces help. makes seesaw motion with hand. i always feel like its a bit of a weak spot... i like elements of it, particularly *because* this work is addressing so much of TKJs bullshit; this is making bruce actually care about barbaras injury because fuck you he *should* care, he *should* do something. and barbaras need for independence and her struggles to accept help are pretty central to her character and in a story about disability... i mean interdependence is a core tenant of disability rights activism, no man is an island and all that. but btwn it being bruce who finds richard dragon for her to train with, and richard dragon both being yknow a man and not a wheelchair user himself, it falls flat. which is really something you notice bc the rest of the story is so damn good... its hard for me to put my finger on exactly what i think they should've done instead, bc they only had 18 pages for this story and like. it's incredibly tight, not a panel wasted, so it *was* important that barbaras teacher be someone we the reader already know, and there was no *time* to establish some other way for barbara to find someone of richard fucking dragons caliber on her own without bruces connections.

but that i guess does bring me to. the other thing i find frustrating re: OYO which is just that it's. 18 pages collected with two other stories, neither of which is memorable... i mean how many other year ones of a heavy hitter like barbara freakin gordon can you think of with less than a single full issue? and batgirl year one had 9 issues (9 mediocre, mediocre issues). i dont think OYO needed that much time (but hey neither did fucking bgyo)... but come on. come on!!!!!!

LOTR Characters as surgical hospital staff

I've had a million surgeries growing up (give or take) and was in the hospital again recently, and I coped by casting my comfort characters as hospital staff, as one does.

Please allow me to present my over-idealized hospital scenario in the form of... LOTR characters as hospital workers:

Frodo: Works the surgery admissions desk. Even at 5:45 in the morning he is cheerful and attentive. He always jumps up to help people with wheelchairs/canes or to point out the most comfortable seat in the waiting room. He asks questions gently and translates medical/insurance jargon so that different types of patients can understand them best. After he secures your hospital bracelet (verifying name and date of birth, of course) he walks with you down the hall to your next stop to get ready for pre-op. He enjoys being the first point of contact for patients because he can try to set the tone to ease anxieties. He doesn’t say he hopes everything goes well with your surgery… he assures you it will!

Merry: Pre-op nurse. Going in and out between rooms sometimes gets hectic but he’s pretty laid back and somehow has the timing of changing into hospital gowns down to a science so no one is ever waiting too long or interrupted disrobed. Gets your IV in with no problem and is more than generous with heated blankets, to the point you could probably make a blanket fort. Always talks about the randomest things to keep your mind off the surgery you’ll soon be having. Has nothing but praise for the anesthesiologist.

Éowyn: The anesthesiologist. She’s covered in medical PPE, but communicates clearly just from her eyes and voice. She sits next to your bed while she goes over everything and gives you honest answers even if they’re scary. When you ask for a little pre-anesthesia sedation she mixes up the perfect dose that doesn’t hit you too hard. It actually makes you feel relaxed, not just sedated.

Arwen: The OR nurse that accompanies you from pre-op into the surgical room. She hooks up your oxygen and talks to you while everyone else rushes around. She has a talent for reassuring eye contact. Everything is bright and overwhelming but her gentle, low voice gives you something to focus on. She asks gentle questions, explains what is going on, and holds your hand if you need. She’s the one telling you to count backward from ten as you get a little dizzy, and it’s her soothing words that give you permission to drift off to sleep.

Faramir: Post-op nurse, monitoring you when you’re waking up from the anesthesia. He knows all the right things to say to all your weird questions and nonsensical statements as you come out of it. Gently keeps you from disrupting your oxygen tube. Interprets enough of your loopy sentences to discern that you actually need nausea medicine and stays on top of it.

Aragorn: Inexplicably the only phlebotomist the hospital apparently has. He’s the one that takes your blood in pre-op and you think you’ll never see him again, but when they decide they need an emergency lab done late one night during your hospital stay, he’s the one that shows up, knocking incredibly soft on your door before he enters. Somehow he remembers everything you had talked about when he first saw you in pre-op, and picks up the conversation pretty much where you left off. He has a talent for talking about the things that make you just happy enough to distract you from getting blood drawn. Of everyone, he looks the most out of place in scrubs but that somehow makes you trust him more.

Pippin: The night shift nurse technician with the worst ever luck. If he’s on shift it’s pretty much guaranteed the blood pressure cuff will never work properly and the IV pump will explode, or at the very least make all manner of beeping noises at the worst times. He’s visibly relieved when you tell him you couldn’t sleep anyway, so you don’t mind, after five solid minutes of trying to shut the machine up. After things settle down he’s genuinely concerned over how difficult it is for you to sleep and checks in on you more often through the night. After his shift, you recall some lighthearted chats you’ve had with him through the night and it’s enough to help you finally get some rest in the early morning.

Galadriel: Radiologist that shows up to whisk you away to a different part of the hospital with cool art on the walls and stained glass panels on the ceiling. Everything is kind of floaty and you’re still unsteady but she’s way stronger than she looks and gets you on the table for your imaging with ease. It’s quite comfortable and the only thing you’ve done in this place since you checked in with Frodo that hasn’t hurt. This makes you kind of emotional, plus you’re still out of it from pain meds and not sleeping so you blurt out that she’s the most beautiful person you’ve ever seen in your life. (She probably hears that all the time.)

Haldir: Day shift nurse that keeps everything on the floor running the way it needs to. He keeps you informed exactly of what to expect with everything you have going on: meds, IV changes, checks on your incision and drains. He always makes sure you’re ready for physical therapy on time, though he absolutely hates it when PT plays games in the hallway. (He tries not to let his feelings about this show to patients, because he knows they love playing games in the hallway, but he certainly will not hesitate to confiscate various sporting accoutrements if they become disruptive.)

Legolas & Gimli: The two physical therapists that work your floor, and they take turns. Of course their trading off turns into a competition. You walked half the length of the hall with Gimli, but the next day you walked the entire length of the hall with Legolas. Gimli gets ahead when you tackle not one but TWO stairs. It becomes obvious you are making better progress on Gimli days, so Legolas tries to win by bringing a volleyball for you to kick around the hallway. When things get out of hand and Haldir intervenes, Legolas says it was Gimli’s idea. (He then hides the volleyball from Haldir in your room.)

Gandalf: The random hospital chaplain that never shows up at the same time twice, even though he always says he’ll stop by “right before lunch.” Sometimes it’s 8 AM sometimes it’s 2 in the afternoon, once it was almost midnight, but you were awake and it was nice to have company for a few minutes. (The only problem is if he shows up during PT. Legolas will cut your session short so you can visit, Gimli will make him wait.) You think Gandalf should maybe be talking about religious stuff since that’s his job but he talks about anything you bring up or are interested in. Has been known to hang out and watch entire movies on the Classic Films channel with patients and sneak in vending machine snacks.

Boromir: Fills in one night as night shift nurse (he’s usually in the ICU). He doesn’t talk much at first, but he’s incredibly observant. As soon as he enters the room, before you can say anything about it feeling uncomfortable, he notices something is wrong with your incision drain and immediately fixes it. You’re kind of worried when you see Pippin is the nurse tech that night, but they actually work well together and Boromir doesn’t seem to mind even the fifth heart monitor malfunction of the night. By the end of the shift he’s cracked a few jokes and takes your vitals before he leaves so Pippin can avoid another altercation with the blood pressure machine.

Sam: The nutritionist that is responsible for the plate of waffle cut fries showing up to your room at 3 am the night after you’re cleared off the liquid diet. Because you need the calories and can’t sleep anyway. And when you were on the liquid diet, he wrote in a request on your behalf to only have cherry Jello sent after you mention that you don’t care much for orange or lime. He makes helpful suggestions but never pushes anything. (However, he does show up to chat with you in person after you didn’t order anything from the kitchen except cheese sticks and ice cream sandwiches for three meals in a row.)

Elrond: The surgeon with an odd, distant, but ultimately endearing bedside manner. He always severely over-estimates the recovery time for his patients. It’s only after reading the third night report that you were eating french fries and kicking a volleyball around the hall with Gandalf at three in the morning that he reluctantly discharges you.

Note: I was in a pediatric ward as a kid for like two months once, and on certain days they would indeed let us play volleyball in the hallway. I doubt anywhere allows adults to do this, but for this little fantasy, I couldn't resist. Thanks for reading!

sorry i have to brainfart this somewhere but mersault chuuya wearing almost damn near similar clothing to his youth got me thinking about dazai and chuuya's fashion choices.

dazai, in all the eras where he was in the mafia....never changes his outfit. it fitting, given his character and such.....so his ada outfit makes him look like a rainbow. dark blue vest, blue gem(?) bolo tie, striped shirt and a tan coat similar to oda's. i think it's cool, to show the stark contrast between his pm days and how he's faring now, aswell to show how much effect oda had on him.

chuuya.....is the complete opposite. boy changes his clothes all the time. but it's so interesting.

his fifteen outfit is very "him" in a sense. street kid, street kid style- red shirt, grey hoodie, green leather jacket, bright blue sheep armband. he fits right in with the rest of the sheep, and hes so...colorful here. almost similar to ada dazai's outfit. and then theres the outfit he wears in the mafia- the first one we saw back in the manga where he seems to be wearing like a..."beta" version of his current outift- but the way it was drawn (disregarding the anime for a second) it looks like its almost ill fitting for him. the vest is too big, the coat looks so heavy, the tie isnt properly tucked, and his pants are baggy. like hes struggling to "fit in".

then theres sb outfit- hes wearing the standard mafia outfit like higuchi, but with his own touches- rolled up sleeves, glasses tucked in his breastpocket, choker, gloves. its not much, but even higuchi doesnt do anything to hers. we kinda see him "getting into" the mafia work, and theres no pop of color here. the dragon head conflict outift is different though- hes wearing clothes that are "his style" again. simple shirt, jacket, choker, gloves. he also has his red petticoat (i think thats what it is? whatever that long cloth underneath his jacket) that, once again, gives him some color. i dunno what spured the outfit change, but i honestly think the red color is his own touch- his own "color"

and then current chuuya. no color at all, maybe safe from the ribbon on his hat. he wears his coat on his shoulders, similar to pm dazai. (also, slight off tangent here- he always loses his coat whenever hes dealing with dazai?? i think?? which is. interesting. given with how glued pm dazai's coat is to his own shoulders. like he actively takes it off/gets it taken off and i SWEAR this only even happens when hes with dazai. idk. ever since asagiri said beast dazai wearing his coat fully to signify him accepting his role as the pm boss ive been. thinking about it. a lot.)

where was i going with this?? oh yeah. why is mersault chuuya wearing his old clothes?? specifically fifteen clothes? like was it his off day or something. bc if you look at chuuyas various outfit as his progression towards the mafia then him wearing his old non mafia clothes either means two things : 1. this is to signify chuuya, under vampire influnce, is well. obviously not loyal to the mafia atm. or 2. something might happen in the future that makes him swear allegiance to someone else which i dont find possible but??? who knows. im overthinking this

"dazai, in all the eras where he was in the mafia....never changes his outfit." His outfit stays pretty similar, you're right, though he does actually change it once during his mafia days. The left image is the outfit he wears in Fifteen and Stormbringer, while the right is what he wears in DHC and Dark Era.

The difference is the blazer jacket he adds under his coat. It's a minimal change but I think it's significant. I mentioned in this post how I believe the change might be related to his change in pronoun from boku to watashi, but really it's more the added layer of distance that makes this significant. Dazai just looks a little... odd, in the first outfit. The coat hangs off him loosely, his shirt is a little baggy. He looks very boyish, and that makes his deceptive tendencies and deeply concerning outlook all the more disturbing to others.

The second outfit makes one change but his clothes now look like they fit him (still with the exception of the coat, which never fit and never will... in this universe anyways. You mentioned Beast so... you know already hehe). In the case of the second outfit, he looks more mature and formal, which lends itself to a person who withdrew further and further away from people (with the exception of the other two at Bar Lupin); who became a terrifying executive in other's eyes, moving away from the "creepy intelligent child" image he had earlier - even though he is still very much a kid. No one knows Dazai - I think the added image of formality and authority here is just one of the many barriers he constructed to keep people from getting too close.

No but you're right about the coat looking a bit like Oda's. He cared for and respected that man like no other and I think when Dazai thinks of "a good person" Oda is the first person who comes to mind. His shirt in the manga is also stripy like Oda's, a little detail that got lost in the anime. :')

Yeah. He looks every bit the street kid and blends with the Sheep near perfectly - more than fitting in though, I think it's more than implied that he wants to fit in and changes his look to do so. Chuuya goes to great lengths to give the appearance of fitting in - because he never felt like he truly did (and certainly the Sheep did not treat him like an equal or a friend).

YES you get it!! And adding onto that, Chuuya doesn't really have a lot of reason to want to fit in yet. He hasn't found his personal groove yet, because he has little personal attachment to the mafia at this point in time.

Yeah in Stormbringer he's got a few personal touches but is still pretty non-descript (though you're right, it's much more than Higuchi... something to think about for her character too, and how it seems the mafia may be more of a job than an investment to her). By Dead Apple though, Chuuya's outfit is... well, back to his punk vibes, just a little more mafia-classy, I guess. (I don't know fashion I'm sorry, please don't kill me)

Red makes a lot of sense as a colour for Chuuya. It's energetic, emotional, fierce and aggressive. It's also considered protective, so yeah it suits him for sure. Red clothes, red ability... red camellias...

I see the coat as a representation of his role and responsibility he takes on, really, so it's interesting that the formality and symbolism of his service to the mafia gets quite literally discarded in the scenes with his foil and equal. Fascinating.

Because of the purplish hue over this piece of new art, I find it hard to tell what the actual colours of his outfit are but it does look awfully similar to his Fifteen outfit. It could just be his "day-off" outfit but I think there's got to be more to it than that. It could have to do with allegiance, like you suggested. May I also suggest the return to a sense of inhumanity?

These are also the clothes he wore when his journey to find answers on himself began. Might he be entering a new arc where he has to "find" himself again?

I still feel we don't have enough information to make a solid judgement. As the meursault pov continues, I think we'll have a better reason as to why he's dressed like this.

What do you think of MC x Wayne? The devs' most favorable pairing above all the characters, in spite of Stella being the #1 popular Li. Isn't he supposed to be our otp for the main player? I know that you don't seem very fond of Wayne lately because of how he feels and treats your main Li, especially how he is going to feel about that character's unfortunate outcome in one of the bad endings involving a character's death? Also, who will you romance if you are not together with Reese? Oscar or Stella, perhaps?

first off - i’m so confused by a lot of this. i don’t think the devs ever said mc x wayne was their favorite pairing, or that it was supposed to be an otp for the player character??? the way the game works is that there is no “otp” for the player character - you can choose to romance whoever you want, or no one at all; it’s all dependent on your individual playthrough.

second - i don’t really think ive said that the reason i dislike wayne is because of how he treats reese. i mean, that definitely doesn’t help, but my main beef with him is how he treats the MC. he acts like you’re an idiot who can’t make decisions for yourself (but only if you make decisions he doesn’t agree with - very controlling) and denies the MC autonomy by refusing to listen when they tell him to stop doing things, like following them around or threatening to hurt their friends (which, in the case of reese, he actually goes through with). he’s also just an asshole, and i don’t enjoy the way he talks about a lot of people and creatures.

in general, his behavior and personality remind me of creepy asshole guys i’ve had to deal with in my past, and it kind of baffles me when people try and paint him as a good guy. he’s not meant to be a good guy. i think a lot of people know that and that’s why they’re drawn to him (and i get it bc i have plenty of villains i love lol), but I’ve seen just as many people who act like it would be crazy to want to get away from Wayne and the best course of action is to let him have full control and “protect” you all the time. like, if you want that for your playthrough, that’s great, go for it. but i take umbrage with the idea that it’s an objective reality that everyone needs to accept.

now, all this is to say that i do think he’s a well written character. i like him as an antagonist and i think the devs did a great job of creating him in a way that elicits real fear. love him as a character, but despise him when i’m actually experiencing the game as MC, and when people act like I’m committing a crime by disliking him and i need to change my opinion. everyone seems to get it when you say you hate sybil, but if you say you don’t like wayne, people act like you’ve confessed to murder.

moving away from that rant, this message is just baffling in general lmao. quickly addressing most everything else - i’m fine with the concept of mc x wayne, everyone can ship what they want, it’s just not for me, and i dont want to be told that it is the “canon route/best route” and everyone should love it and choose it or whatever. ive never really talked about stella so idk where you got that i would want to romance her??? she’s one of the characters im just not attracted to bc she’s not my type. i will always choose reese in every playthrough bc i feel like im abandoning or betraying him if I don’t, but if I couldn’t choose him, I would choose oscar, followed by kaneeka.

So as I know little to nothing about Epic The Musical(only listening to snippets of like, 4 to 5 songs-) I really wanna know more about it and the AU you made with it and Tetrax-

OKOK SO basically the epic au follows the musical almost exactly, story wise, with some kinda major changes

I wrote about it all on my priv twitter then transferred everything over to a txt document so excuse the fact that it’s formatted as a twitter thread cause it literally came from one!!!!

Also I made a couple of changes ever since the Circes Saga was released and there will continue to be changes until the musical is fully completed so I will list all the changes after this

SO CHANGES!!!!!!

1. Ares has a name now, it’s Orion!!

2. I’ve decided that all the gods are just gonna be named after the actual gods they’re supposed to represent, I can’t be bothered to come up with a bunch of new names for them

3. In the "Circes Saga" part Circes, instead of threatening tetrax to never return she helps him get to the underworld, having a new respect for him cause not only was he able to resist her power but also he tries to show as much respect to her as possible by kneeling and begging for his crew to be set free instead of resorting to trying to kill her

4. Tetrax meets Clockwork directly instead of having a dream with him in it since Circes helps him go to the underworld

ive also started an animatic for one of the god games songs!!!! its still only a ""storyboard"" so stuff is messy+needs to be adjusted/added but heres what it looks like atm!!! i used this animatic to practice drawing azmuth and orion since i hadnt drawn them at all prior to making this, i hope that i can finish this by making a cleaned up version

i hope i can make animatics on at least "The Horse and the Infant", "Just a Man", and "Done For" in the future

A Ship in the Harbor

Here is the long-awaited (not really) outline to the rest of A Ship in the Harbor! As you can see, there is a lot that is yet to happen in this story, hence the estimated 475k-500k final word count, but I have no idea if I will ever get around to actually fully writing this out, so in the meantime, here are my (very rough) plans for how I think the fic would go. Thank you to everyone who has read it! I appreciate all of you more than you can know 💖

Trip to Merimark Arc:

I. Merimark is an ally of Marley but is across the ocean to the west of it, which means that the Warrior Candidates must take a ship to get there, it is their first time on a ship and Friedrich is very seasick leaving Colt and Y/N to spend most of their time together, they speculate on what Merimark will be like and what experiments they will undergo, the crew is surprisingly friendly to them despite their status as Eldians and they learn a little bit about ships, the captain explains that out on sea, there’s no laws and anyone of any blood is at the whims of the tides

II. They arrive at Merimark, which is a highly industrialized country that is suffering from the consequences of a recent war, they meet the doctor who will be performing experiments on them (Dr. Lilith Edevane), it turns out that Merimark is very intolerant of those that are different and the main three are mistreated by those around them even though Dr. Edevane herself does not seem to be particularly racist

III. The experiments are conducted separately; Friedrich’s body will be tested to see what physical advantages/disadvantages that Eldian’s gain, Colt’s blood will be tested in order to see if they can isolate the Eldian gene, and Y/N’s brain will be tested in order to prove Dr. Edevane’s theories that Eldians are mentally inferior to other races

IV. Y/N is able to pass all of Dr. Edevane’s puzzles and Dr. Edevane realizes she is the one who came up with the idea to defeat Athyae, she goes for a different tactic and tells Y/N the truth about the war on Athyae (that Marley was the aggressive party because they wanted Athyae’s resources, that the Candidates were brainwashed, etc.) and tries to convince Y/N that she’s a monster, Y/N agrees with her and says that someone has to do it (quoting her father), Dr. Edevane is frustrated as her funding for her experiments only came because the University she works for wants to deny access to education for Eldians

V. Dr. Edevane’s experiments become increasingly more hectic — Colt is often dizzy and faint due to the amount of blood being drawn from him every day, Friedrich’s muscles are exhausted as he is pushed to his limits constantly, and Y/N can feel her mental state beginning to spiral, when all hope is lost General Magath arrives and demands Dr. Edevane releases them

Beginning of the Mid-East War Arc:

I. On the way back to Marley and Liberio, General Magath explains that countries in the Middle East have formed an alliance, called the Mid-East Alliance, which senses weakness in Marley due to the Warrior Unit’s recent defeat by Paradis and Marley’s near-loss to Athyae, and that this alliance has declared war against Marley, which horrifies Y/N as she realizes that she will have to become a true monster again

II. Dr. Edevane’s words haunt Y/N even as Colt becomes stronger again and Friedrich regains his energy, she has always known she did terrible things in Athyae but now she knows that the Athyaens wanted peace and that the Marleyans were the aggressors which means everything she did had no justifiable reason to it beyond greed, leading her to once again question if she even deserves to live anymore

III. When they are back in Liberio, Porco and Reiner greet them, Porco wants to hear about Merimark but when the Candidates describe what happened, he finds it horrific and wishes that he could’ve gone in their place so that he could’ve killed Dr. Edevane, Reiner senses that Y/N is unwell and asks her if she wants to talk, she tells him everything and he doesn’t really offer helpful advice but at least empathizes

IV. The Warriors and Candidates attend a speech by High General Calvi to the Marleyan public which is propaganda about how the war against the Mid-East will soon be won, they go home and Colt, Friedrich, and Y/N discuss the war and their fears, they promise to always have each other’s backs no matter what (unlike last time), Y/N is happy to hear that Cordelia will be their nurse again as she is genuinely friends with her now and she doesn’t know if she’d trust anyone else with herself and the boys given what Dr. Edevane put them through

V. Y/N wishes farewell to her parents, who beg that she comes back safely, she promises that she will and then leaves for the train station where she finds Colt in a rage and Friedrich barely managing to hold him back, it turns out that Falco, Gabi, Udo, and Zofia will also go to war with them the way they did in Athyae, Y/N reassures Colt that at least the younger ones will have the older trio looking out for them which is enough to calm him down though when they get on the train he is still worried for all of them and especially for Falco, a sentiment that Y/N and Friedrich share (although Y/N is closer with Gabi and Friedrich is just generally concerned as he remembers his brother)

Mid-East Arc:

I. They arrive in the Mid-East and it is evident from the start that the Candidates will have a much more hands-on role with the war as opposed to Athyae, however when they go on the field Y/N nearly dies and is saved by Friedrich and Colt, leading to her having to recover with Cordelia for a little bit, frustrating her as she does not like being useless and her current situation reminds her of when she broke her ribs and stayed with the Amatas in Athyae

II. Once she is healed, General Magath remembers her perfect aim and reassigns her to more of a sniper role, which she excels at and which leads to her befriending the Panzer Unit, who all appreciate her skills and are glad to hear that she will be the next Cart Titan as they can see themselves getting along with her very well

III. The Armored Trains nearly kill Pieck and Porco before Y/N manages to shoot the people running them, although it is only temporary as the Marleyan army is forced to retreat before the trains become operational again and take out two of their biggest weapons, for the first time they realize that the power of the titans might not be enough to win but even Y/N isn’t able to think of a solution or a way to destroy them as she doesn’t understand the technology

IV. Y/N realizes that the battles on land are merely distractions/hit-and-runs which means the Mid-East Alliance is planning something bigger, as she informs General Magath of her suspicions, he receives intelligence that the Alliance is building their navy, he laments the fact that they can do nothing about it and asks Y/N in a joking-tired way if she has any ideas but she apologizes and says she doesn’t, he surprisingly is alright with it and says there’s a limit to how many wars a single person can win

V. Y/N tells Colt and Friedrich that she wants to become a monster again because she wants the war to end as it’s been a year since it began and it shows no sign of stopping, Friedrich reminds her that war is a lot more difficult when they’re truly on the defensive, they hear explosions and shouts and realize that their base is under attack, forcing them to run away, with Y/N and Friedrich having to drag Colt who is unwilling to leave without Falco

Survivalist Arc:

I. Y/N, Friedrich, and Colt are forced to find another Marleyan base and hope the rest of their friends made it, there is a lot of pining and tension between all three (trio is about 16 at this point??)

II. Colt gets injured and Y/N has to treat him using what she picked up from Cordelia, while Friedrich is gathering water and Colt is unconscious she succumbs and kisses him and begs him to be alright, he does not respond which causes Y/N to cry, Friedrich appears and tells her not to waste water, it remains unclear whether he saw her kiss Colt or not, while Colt is still unconscious Y/N and Friedrich discuss their relationship up until this point and reminisce over the times that they’d confessed their love for another, neither confirms if they meant it or not, Y/N asks Friedrich what he’ll do in the years after she and Colt are dead and he says he’ll spend the rest of his time remembering them

III. Colt wakes up, Y/N pretends like nothing happened and if Friedrich saw he does not bring it up, they eat some of the rations they remembered to bring with them, Friedrich reminds them to be careful, they happen upon a village and the people recognizes them as Marleyans but take them in anyways, they are grateful but wary although Y/N reminds Friedrich of how kind the Amatas were and that they should take advantage of whatever kindness they can get

IV. They are served food and then left alone to eat, Friedrich stops them from eating and tosses a piece of the food to a rat he sees in the corner, it eagerly eats and then dies as the food was poisoned, they realize they are in danger in the village and the people they are with are nothing like the Amatas, they find that the door is locked so they smash a window and escape through it but they realize they don’t have their stuff so they’ll be in trouble

V. Using a steak knife, Friedrich kills the guard but it turns out that there is another one who is about to kill him; Y/N shoots him using the gun she stole from the house where Friedrich got the knife, Colt rushes in and gets their things back and then they run away from the village, soon they see smoke and realize they’ve made it to a Marleyan base, they fall to the ground for a moment in gratitude

Preparations Arc:

I. Reaching the base, they realize that everyone else managed to evacuate and they were the only ones who missed the alarm due to the conversation they were having, General Magath is relieved to see them alive and does not reprimand them for missing the evacuation, Porco is grateful to have Y/N back as they have become friends, Cordelia treats their wounds and praises Y/N for treating Colt so well, Colt and Falco reunite

II. Y/N debates telling Colt about the fact that she kissed him before deciding it would cause too many problems especially as they are at war, she seeks Cordelia’s advice and Cordelia tells her to make sure she doesn’t regret anything, due to their relative downtime as Marley struggles to recover from the recent attack on the base Y/N continues to help Cordelia, speaks with the soldiers and tries to get a read on what is happening with the war so she can figure out a strategy, keeps coming up blank, Gabi finds her and forces her to spend time with them, she sees herself in Gabi and hopes that Gabi is never forced to do the things she had to do in Athyae

III. Reiner and Zeke make their appearances on the base for the first time, Y/N is very happy to see Reiner and he is equally happy to see her, she asks him if he thinks they can win the war and to her surprise he is convinced they can despite their recent defeat at the hands of Paradis, she asks him why and he talks about Marley’s general superiority leaving her feeling better, she conveys Reiner’s sentiments to Friedrich and Colt who are similarly happy to hear the news, Friedrich reveals he was able to sneak a bottle from the officer’s stores and the three of them share a drink

IV. The rest of the year is spent on various skirmishes to prevent the Mid-East Alliance from expanding their borders, although they continue to build their navy which Y/N is uneasy about, Colt and Friedrich are given their own respective squadrons to lead which are rather successful and Y/N continues to be a sniper with great success although the perspective gives her reason to believe that the war is actually a losing effort as each battle is harder and harder for Marley to win as the Mid-East Alliance’s technology continues to improve

V. They capture a Mid-East Alliance soldier who speaks the same language as them, General Magath gives Y/N the task of getting more information out of him (to her surprise) as she has experience with Dr. Edevane’s techniques, Y/N tries to befriend the soldier but he hates her and wants her dead, does not even tell her his name as he believes she is a dirty Eldian who deserves to suffer, she finally breaks him by pretending that Marley won the war and that he’ll be tortured to death for her amusement, he tells her how the Armored Trains work and calls her a monster, she says she hasn’t heard that one in a long time and that she appreciates his cooperation in helping win the war, she then privately rejoices that she is a monster again as it means they might be able to go home soon

Naval Arc:

I. Y/N’s fears come true as the Mid-East Alliance’s navy begins to perform a pincer movement, trapping Marley’s forces between the sea and their armies with anti-titan technology, she tells General Magath the information she learned about the Armored Trains and he thanks her before telling her to kill the prisoner, she assures him it’ll be taken care of, she goes to the soldier and tells him she’s going to kill him before asking what the point of the entire war is, he says it’s too complicated for an Eldian so she shoots him as his words remind him too much of Dr. Edevane

II. Despite her misgivings, Y/N writes to Dr. Edevane and asks her if there’s any difference between Eldians and the rest of the world, she asks Friedrich and Colt who think she was stupid to write to someone like that although they do share her curiosity as General Magath rescued them before they could find out the results of Dr. Edevane’s experiments, Y/N watches Gabi, Falco, Udo, and Zofia interacting innocently and she comes to the conclusion that no matter what Dr. Edevane says and whether Eldians are humans or not, they still deserve to be happy because some/most of them are good at heart and she is an outlier who only became a devil to protect the rest

III. Dr. Edevane’s response comes (indicating some time has passed) though it is barely in time as the Mid-East Alliance forces create naval blockades around the Marleyan base’s ports, Dr. Edevane is condescending in her letter, speaking to Y/N as if she is some favored pet, stating that although there is no research backing up physical differences, it is obvious that there is some difference between the Eldian race and everyone else as she’s never met anyone quite as monstrous as Y/N which must be due to her heritage, she admits that she grew somewhat fond of Y/N in the way a researcher is fond of their lab rats and so she reveals that Merimark has gained intelligence that the Mid-East Alliance’s forces (especially their navy) are based in Fort Slava, Y/N passes on this intelligence to General Magath and High General Calvi, whereupon they immediately make plans to sacrifice everything to be able to get to Fort Slava

IV. Because Fort Slava is by the coast, it will be difficult to get there, so the Marleyans decide that they must win another decisive victory first, Y/N has the idea that taking out a vital factory in the production of Armored Trains would be helpful as that would take away their biggest advantage, the higher ups agree but scouting reports tell them that attacking at the moment would not be helpful so they put the idea on pause and come up with the idea to go on smaller missions to dig trenches and gain more intelligence

V. Y/N, Friedrich, and Colt are expecting to be sent on the intelligence missions and are horrified to learn that Gabi, Falco, Udo, and Zofia will be the ones to do it as they are “older” now — about 11 years old, which supports Y/N’s theory that Marley is growing desperate for brainwashed soldiers, it is out of their control to stop Marley as training younger Warrior Candidates is out of their jurisdiction but to their surprise General Magath is equally as upset by the entire ordeal, in wake of their trip to Merimark he has begun to show a more compassionate and almost caring side to the Warrior Candidates and they realize he has all but raised them, which leads them to reflect on their complicated relationships with the man and with the military at large

Innocence Arc:

I. Falco comes back injured which makes Colt upset and also realize the fragility of mortal life (?), he spends all day with him in the infirmary and Friedrich and Y/N basically have to drag him out of there at night so that he at least gets some rest, he asks Y/N to stay for a little bit, they end up kissing

II. Colt apologizes and asks Y/N to forget that they ever did anything, she is hurt as she believes he did it to use her, in wake of the younger Warrior Candidates getting injured General Magath is able to convince the higher ups to let him send Y/N and Friedrich on a mission to gain intelligence on the Armored Train factory as they believe it might be a good time to attack it, Colt remains behind to take over both his and Friedrich’s squadrons in the meantime

III. As it will take a while for them to get to the factory, Y/N and Friedrich have to spend a night camping, Y/N (still hurt by Colt’s “rejection”) asks Friedrich if he meant that he loved her when he told her as a child, he says that he’s always loved her from the start but he’s known for quite some time that Colt loves her as well and he won’t get in the way, she tells him that Colt doesn’t love her and Friedrich is surprised, she gives him an edited version of what happened between her and Colt and he reluctantly believes her, they kiss and he promises he’ll always love her, she tells him she loves him too

IV. They make it to the Armored Train factory and realize that most of the guards have been diverted to helping prepare the navy which means that the two of them could feasibly destroy the factory, while they are in the midst of setting the traps the alarm goes off and it turns out that there are more guards than they realize, they are swarmed and there may be no way for both of them to escape, Friedrich tells Y/N to run and he’ll join her soon, she gets out of the building and makes a signal (throws a rock at a window?) so that he knows she’s out, she expects him to escape as well but then the entire factory blows up and she realizes that he knew one of them would have to stay behind in order to complete the mission and he sacrificed himself to destroy the factory and save her life

V. Y/N returns to the Marleyan base somewhat in shock as she has lost so many people but she never thought Friedrich would be one of them, reports back to General Magath that the factory has been destroyed but Friedrich is dead, then goes to find Colt and tell him the news, he asks where Friedrich is and does not believe that he is dead at first, they both grieve and realize they are the only two left of their original batch of Warrior Candidates

End of the Mid-East War Arc:

I. With the Armored Train factory destroyed, they now only have to worry about the currently active ones, which means it’s no longer a guessing game of where they have to deploy their forces but rather a strategic game, leading to Y/N and Zeke’s involvement becoming higher as they try to figure out the best strategy to take Fort Slava

II. Udo, in speaking to Y/N about Friedrich, reminds her about Athyae, she idly wonders how Hadrian is doing as she has not thought of him in many years, she then comes up with the idea to take Fort Slava, Zeke, General Magath, and High General Calvi approve and they decide they will implement it as soon as they can get airships to the base

III. Porco is surprisingly sympathetic and offers Y/N advice on how to deal with her grief as he knows what it’s like after losing his brother although he knows that Friedrich’s bond with Y/N (as well as with Colt) was unique and irreplaceable, Reiner is the one to help her the most as he reminds her they’re still fighting a war and even without Friedrich she has to persevere as she has people counting on her, like Colt, the younger Warrior Candidates, and her parents back at home

IV. The plans for taking over Fort Slava are finalized and the base is packed up so that they can move into the trenches, Y/N, Colt, and the younger Warrior Candidates are told to stick together as they are essentially one unit now, although Y/N and Colt are of higher rank due to their secure status as future Warriors, which the younger Candidates are still competing for

V. The trenches are set up and the plan to take over Fort Slava is a success (follows canon), winning the war for Marley just as Dr. Edevane said it would, although the Warriors + Y/N and Colt are worried that the power of the titans will fade soon as the Armored Trains were almost enough to take Reiner out and, without Friedrich’s sacrifice, they would probably not have won the war

Declaration of War on Paradis Arc:

I. Despite their worries, it was still a victory, so on the train ride back, Colt and the rest get drunk and celebrate, cheering Gabi on, although Y/N is more reserved and only watches affectionately, speaking to Reiner about more serious things until they reach the station and Y/N has to help a hungover Colt get to the internment zone, where they are reunited with their families again and Y/N helps a soldier with one leg and eye to stand and fixes his armband for him after the Marleyan soldiers scare all of them

II. Knowing that she needs to keep busy, Y/N decides she will help Cordelia in the trauma center again, where she meets the soldier from earlier again, who introduces himself as Kruger and is reminiscent of Friedrich in personality, as well as missing an eye like Marek Birdwhistle; Y/N spends time with him and agrees to send letters to his family and doesn’t question his actions, saying everyone does things they regret

III. Zeke holds a meeting with the Warriors, Colt, and Y/N, saying that he will convince the Tybur family to use the Warhammer Titan in order to help them regain the Founding Titan and that the Tyburs can reveal their involvement at a festival in Liberio, Y/N is in awe as she has heard a lot about the Tyburs, she goes to spend more time with Kruger and asks him about his old life, he is a little defensive but offers her good advice about her own life which she appreciates

IV. The festival is set up and Colt and Y/N enjoy themselves, although they are both a little sad as they believe Friedrich would’ve enjoyed it as well, but for the most part they have fun and are silly (very much Kingdom Dance vibes), an old woman gives Y/N a flower crown and says she looks remarkably like a princess despite her blood, they waste the entire allowance General Magath gave them for the festival on random games and food

V. The assault on Liberio happens basically like in canon except for Y/N is the one who takes Reiner to Eren and when Gabi takes Lobov’s gear, Y/N latches on and throws her off but cannot jump off herself, forcing her to board the airship where she believes she will die from the devils of Paradis, which leads to her making the choice to at least bring one of them down with her and shooting Sasha who is the only one not wearing a breastplate

Infiltrator Arc:

I. Y/N is imprisoned and gets to know the guards she is with so that she can either manipulate them to get out or figure out another way to escape, but it turns out the Garrison members are not suited to guarding prisoners, so she manages to trick her guard into thinking she’ll sleep with him, however, she then kills him and runs away into the nearby forest where she stares at her armband and wonders what she’ll do now

II. Kaya finds her and takes her to the Braus household, where she pretends her name is Xanthe Amata and she works to pay off them letting her stay and heal, Kaya tells her her story and Y/N sympathizes, Kaya also mentions that her older sister recently died and Y/N realizes that the girl is looking for a replacement in her and she wishes she could do more to help her

III. Kaya reveals she knows Y/N is from Marley and mentions that her family is going to a restaurant run by a Marleyan man who might be able to help Y/N get home, Y/N is surprised but happy to hear the news but is confused that a Marleyan is running a restaurant for the devils of Paradis, to which Kaya responds that she thinks the man actually loved her older sister, further confusing Y/N, who has somewhat assimilated Dr. Edevane’s views that Eldians are less than human

IV. Meeting Niccolo changes Y/N’s perspective as she realizes that Niccolo truly respects Mr. and Mrs. Braus and it seems like he really cared for their daughter, she goes to ask him for help in the kitchen but when he realizes who she is and what she did he hits her upside the head with a wine bottle, causing some to get in her mouth, Niccolo reveals what she did and asks Mr. Braus to kill her or else he’ll do it but the Scouts arrive and Mr. Braus stops him, Niccolo realizes what he’s done and then says that Y/N should probably rinse her mouth out as she got some wine in it which confuses the Scouts but Y/N understands and begins to laugh and then explains what she did in Athyae to the Scouts before checking with Niccolo, who says it’s only a hunch but the only logical answer, she shakes her head in disbelief that her own idea will be her downfall

V. Kaya tries to attack Y/N and is upset that she thought of Y/N as a good replacement for Sasha, Mikasa stops her and she and Armin take Y/N into another room, where she asks if they will kill her for everything she’s done, Armin says they won’t and that she talks about killing almost as much as someone else he knew, Eren enters and the table scene happens, Y/N is taken to Shiganshina and Eren is about to force her to call for help to trick the Marleyans when Pieck comes, she pretends to join Eren but Y/N knows Pieck too well to fall for it and goes along with her perfectly, Porco attacks Eren and Y/N looks up to see airships coming and realizes Colt has come to save her

Titan Arc:

I. Pieck transforms and takes Y/N back to High General Magath, where she expects she’ll be admonished but instead he hugs her and tells her he’s glad she’s alright, she is then reunited with Colt, who reprimands her for worrying him so much, she then remembers that she is supposed to turn into a titan and regretfully informs High General Magath of the news, he is shocked but thanks her for her service, knowing there’s nothing else they can do, Colt refuses and says that if Zeke comes, they’ll find him and convince him not to scream, once Zeke arrives, Colt begs him to wait as he can’t bear losing his best friend, too, and Zeke is apologetic when he screams, Colt tries to stay with Y/N but she tells him that he needs to stay alive for Falco and Gabi and that at least this way she can see Friedrich again

II. Y/N has a dream about Friedrich and wants to stay with him but he convinces her to return, when she wakes up she is with a man named Connie who she remembers from the restaurant and airship, however he is taking her to get help so she is thankful, then they get to a village with an upside down titan that scares Y/N greatly, Colt and Armin appear as Y/N and Connie get ready to “brush the titan’s teeth” and Connie presses his blades to her throat and states he will feed her to the titan, Colt tells her to use the power of the Jaw but she is confused as she is not a titan shifter, Armin nearly sacrifices himself which allows Y/N to get away and reunite with Colt once again

III. They get to Shiganshina, where they meet Annie, who decides to join them, meet up with Mikasa, and then gather supplies until they get the signal from Jean, prompting them to find Reiner where Colt hid him and then escape to meet up with Hange and the others, although Y/N is surprised to see that along with Onyankapon and Yelena, Hadrian is also an Anti-Marleyan Volunteer (who did not know about the Jaegers true plan) (might introduce him in diner scene??)

IV. The campfire scene happens basically like it did in canon except Y/N is the one who steps in front of Jean to protect Reiner and she tells him that she and Reiner and Annie and the rest did horrible things because they thought they were right and that there’s no excuse for what they’ve done but there’s no excuse for what Eren’s doing, either, and that if they don’t try to stop him they’ll have to live with the regrets of being monsters for the rest of their lives, which is a feeling she doesn’t recommend to anyone; later that night she and General Magath talk and she tells him that she’s spent so long hating him/picturing his face when she thinks of Marley that she doesn’t think she can ever forgive him, Jean returns the next morning and is gentle with her (though still rough with Reiner) (implied he might like her??) and agrees to join the alliance, even apologizing to Y/N for accidentally hurting her, although he says he will not forgive Reiner, and before he can respond to Annie asking whether he’d forgive her, Pieck appears and tells them the situation at the port

V. The port scene happens exactly as it does in canon except Y/N replaces Falco and finds she is much more confused when High General Magath dies, as she hates him for everything he did but she also knew him for most of her life and thought he did have his moments of caring about the Candidates

Battle of Heaven and Earth Arc:

Basically just what canonically happens during the manga/anime, some tension between Hadrian, Y/N, and Colt, but not that much as they’re more focused on the world ending, Y/N kisses Colt before he leaves with the others as he forced her to stay behind with Annie (he can’t bear to lose anyone else) and she pretends to do it for him before realizing that the Beast Titan spinal fluid that turned her means that her Jaw Titan has animal characteristics, and because she’s always been so fast she resembles the fastest animal in the world — the peregrine falcon

Escape to Athyae Arc:

I. After the battle is over, Colt, Hadrian, and the others will continue to fight for peace, but Y/N is tired of fighting and being a monster and just wants to be a person again, she reunites with her father and mother; Hadrian tells her to go to Athyae and stay with his parents who will accepts her, Armin is alright with it but asks her to please take Captain Levi with her so that he can retire, too, as he can no longer walk or see out of one eye, she kisses Colt farewell one final time and he asks her to wait for him and she says she will for as long as she can

II. Soon after Y/N, her parents, and Levi arrive in Athyae, its borders are closed to outsiders (especially Marleyan refugees), but they manage to make it to the Amatas, who even after everything welcome them with open arms and promise to help them no matter what because they knew how much Hadrian and Xanthe loved Y/N and they had come to care for her, too, in the month they knew her

III. Y/N and Colt exchange letters for a time, but after a bit, the letters stop as Colt presumably goes to Paradis and Y/N becomes increasingly busy at home, the same goes for Hadrian as well and although Y/N is sad when they stop writing she understands and knows that it would be unrealistic for them to think about her forever, Levi is the one to force her to face the harsh reality that they probably will move on from her and she would do well to move on from them, she says she’ll consider it but a part of her (a large part) will always belong to Colt, who is her best friend and the person she loves most in the world, as well as her safe harbor

IV. Y/N is finally at peace, living with her parents and taking care of Levi, who is kind of like a grumpy uncle, spending time with the Amatas, and though the ghosts of her past haunt her and she misses Colt, she has finally found something resembling happiness, doing things like eating pomegranates whenever she wants and finding some sort of therapeutical effect in gardening; at some point, she hears that Athyae is hosting two ambassadors from Paradis and everyone is invited to hear them speak in the town square in a month’s time

V. Ending

Ending:

Colt and Hadrian are the ambassadors to Athyae, Y/N and the Amatas go to see them, although she is unable to convince her parents or Levi to come as Levi already knows the story and her parents don’t really care

Colt and Y/N smile at each other and he waves; she waves back in acknowledgment before turning away

She realizes that despite everything they’ve been through and how much they love each other, they are not broken, desperate children anymore

Rather they are adults, and as adults they have both grown up and moved on with their lives; although there is a possibility they will one day reconnect, their relationship will be entirely different than it once was as they will no longer depend on one another for their very survival

Regardless, Y/N is thankful that they could have been each other’s safe harbors for a time (callback to the first chapter of the story/the title — a ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are meant for)

“His eyes searched the crowd, and you knew without knowing that he was looking for you. Of course he was — some part of him was still stuck back there, back in the time when the two of you were each other’s safe harbors. But ships are not meant to stay in harbors, and you both were not meant to cling to one another forever.”

Leave it ambiguous — does she end up with Hadrian after everything? Do she and Colt rekindle their relationship and get married? Is she single forever? Do Reiner or Jean swoop in now that Athyae is open and Y/N is available? Does she marry someone completely new?

The story is a chronicle of Y/N’s life and her life does not end when the story does, so just like real life there is no certainty

Another hc is I think Shinji loses a lot of weight during the 2 years just cuz he isn’t getting enough to eat and he’s getting sicker and then when he’s recovering he has to take a lot of time to be able to move again so he’s definitely not doing much strenuous activity and he regains weight slowly. I think what is able to really help him both gain weight and learn to be nicer to himself is he makes food that he himself would enjoy (its a long journey cuz he’s not used to being nice to himself and he’s very crabby about it lol) and I like to imagine him having a sweet tooth and liking cookies and cake a lot and he gets chubbier over time and Akihiko is like over the moon cuz Shinji is taking care of himself and it’s showing!

Then Mitsuru um because of fucked up angsty reasons shes had to prioritize her appearance a lot, a whole metaphor for keeping up a facade so she doesn’t reflect badly on the company, and she always is very controlling of what she eats and how it’d make her look. She also puts a lot of effort into her hair and makeup to keep up a perfect image of femininity. Then like during her social link she’s with Kotone just kinda exploring common shit for the first time and she develops a love of fast food and it frightens her cuz like. What’s happening to her she isn’t allowed to have this kinda indulgence and she certainly isn’t allowed to enjoy it either. But she’s supported and encouraged to let herself eat whatever she wants and she just explores a lot of options and eats what she likes even if it’s not some perfect shit that keeps her skinny I think Kotone and Yukari would collectively be like PLEEASSEEE DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY IF ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING WE WILL MURDER THEM WE HAVE OUR WEAPONS DRAWN. So Mitsuru gets fatter and also stops wearing makeup too and it’s very scary cuz she’s always had it ingrained in her that this is the last thing she’s allowed to be but she also feels her body and looks at her natural face and she finally feels like her body is her own and she loves what she’s made

Obviously we gotta have Shinji and Mitsuru bond over their new food revelations it’s part of repairing some strain in their relationship I think Shinji can definitely be pretentious about food and would probably have negative opinions of fast food like he’ll eat it cuz sometimes you just can’t cook but hes snarky about it. But when he sees Mitsuru likes it she figures he’s got something snarky to say and he’s just like "uh actually knowing what you’ve gone through I’d be pissed if you didn’t eat fast food let’s go get some borgers". He does make some of his own shit occasionally though like burgers and fries for Mitsuru to have and it’s a nice gesture but it just doesn’t capture the ENERGY of wild duck burger 🙄. Shinji would melt anyone if they said that though alsjka. Mitsuru in return would get Shinji some fancy ingredients and any special sweets that are all expensive (even though I strongly believe the happiest ending for Mitsuru is one where she isn’t really a part of the Kirijo group family anymore let’s just say she still has a way to get yummy snack akjsks). They candy is always really strange and tastes like shit 8/10 times and Shinji will eat all of it anyway and he will not share

Basically Shinji 🤝 Mitsuru: gaining weight and exploring what foods they like for the first time as a way of showing they’re recovering

i’ve thought ab this with shinji constantly (i’m not sure the oversized clothes i put him in have ever properly showed it tho 😭) but i’ve never imagined it with mitsuru !! i definitely draw mitsuru a bit thicker than she actually is but ive never put much thought behind it besides it looks better to me LMFAO … now i will have a reason to continue drawing her this way and more…

it's been a weird couple days (as you know cause i keep texting you 😅). everything still feels really off and my emotions are going in circles (thank fuck i'm seeing my therapist tomorrow).

Soooo, let's start? I’m going to try and not just quote every single line back at you but oh my god please know that I love everything about this. I still don’t quite know how one is actually supposed to react to stories, so I hope you‘ll enjoy my rambling about how your words have made me feel 😅

also.... "something very peaceful about not having to worry about how someone fucks you because you know they do it right" ..... do you just have a secret source of knowledge about my anxiety issues??? cause that feels a little to relatable as a concept,, like straight up taken from my brain when i try to explain why i'm drawn to these types of stories 😂🙈

also, this: "You wanted to spend as little time as possible on chores and as much time as possible … together." very relatable. the „… together“ made me giggle 🙈

.. also sidenote, I really love the way you center the trust between them in the beginning of the story (and througout, really). It really is such a vital part of their dynamic and to actually feel that is really nice. and i also just really love the intimacy between the two of them - like the scene of him coming home and caring about how her day went.

“Paz,” you giggled, your hands buried in the soft hairs at the back of his neck, “What are you doing?” ... dont mind me just giggling and grinning over here...

“I’m eating you out, what does it look like?” he grinned, his teeth nipping at your bottom lip AND THEN “Patience, sweetheart,” he teased you, looking up from where his fingers were circling your nipples over the fabric of your shirt. “Let me play with you.?????? hot. 10/10. actually cant function anymore, this is all I'll think about now 🫠

“You're so good for me,” he murmured against your sternum, “Such a pretty little slut just for me, aren’t you?” ... LIKE HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO ANYTHING RIGHT NOW????? i think i dont even really like the idea of men calling me a slut, but i think he might be an expection.....

He rubbed the back of his neck, the free hand still on your thigh, “You can – you can choose something else, if you like, of course. But I saw it in the mall at lunch and I just … knew.” stop I'm gonny cry

“And remember –“ he started. “I can always take it off whenever I want to,” you finished… i really love this. I think I've told you this before, but i really like how you always manage to hit home on the consent and trust between pairings in your stories.

You thrived in coming home and being dragged into his bed or him coming home and coming straight to you. That must be your favourite part, really. Him coming home and using you any which way he liked. Both of you ending up on the couch afterwards, talking about how your respective days had been. ... did you just invade my daydreams??? but seriously, again, i love love love reading about the intimate aspects - even without smut - in your stories. they might not confess how they're fully feeling (yet), but they don't really need to in order for me to feel the emotions between them. this just makes my heart flutter and yearn 🤍🥺

A bit of topic, but this: "It had been raining and you had used your day off to curl up on the couch and read one of the books on your tbr list." just got me really excited for finishing my master's degree next summer. I can't wait to read an actual book and enjoy it without any stress that I'm technically procrastinating. like, im so excited to not be too exhausted for my tbr list.

back on topic... Paz was usually home by now and even though you were not his girlfriend (which was totally absolutely perfectly fine with you, of course)… GIRL, CAN YOU BOTH PLEASE JUST SAY YOUR UNSPOKEN FEELINGS OUT LOUD AND MAKE IT OFFICIAL

paz coming home and needing stress relief? 10/10. also, i can't fully say why, but the way you describe paz? such a hot, pretty man.

LIKE.. Every line I keep thinking „okay that’s it. NOTHING can make me react more than this“ and then I keep getting hit with the next words???

and then,, “Ordering pizza and a movie? We can cuddle and if you want to we can try that thing you’ve been pretending to google secretly?” MAY, i can't 🫠🫠🫠 i will be thinking about this story for forever. somebody please tell me where i find him in real life.

and the ending being all soft and fluffy? i dont know what else to say besides this man (and story) has my heart 🤍

I could keep going cause I just love your writing so much, but this turned out quite long already. So in short: honestly? we both know that i always love your writing but this made me all smiley and giggly and that really is something i needed right now 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 i don't even know how to put it in words how much i love every part of this!!
