Alicent Headcanons with her children

This is the first time I write something like this so I hope you enjoy it. Also, english is def not my first language so forgive me for any mistakes.

The headcanons are mostly about book Alicent!!!!!

• When Aegon was a baby, Alicent was very proud of him and liked to boast him to everyone in court;

• As a little boy, Aemond used to pretend to be her protector and would follow her everywhere with a wooden sword on the waist, and she always complimented him for his strength and bravery;

• Alicent spends more time with Helaena than with the boys. She's her most religious child and they go to the sept together, do girly things together like walk in the gardens to pick flowers, embroidery and charity work;

• She likes to receive long letters from Daeron and read them multiple times;

• When the twins were born, Alicent withdrew from her court activities to teach Helaena how to be a mother. They dismissed a few of the maids and nurses and spent a lot of time with the children. They became even closer after that;

• Alicent can't have a good sleep when Aegon is out during the night. She waits for him and asks the guards to report her any news about him. Sometimes, she even walks through the hallways of the red keep, only waiting for him to show up;

• When Aemond lost his eye, he spent a week under the effect of the milk of the poppy, delirious, sleeping most of the time. She never left his side, not even for a moment;

• When Daeron left, she hold back her feelings and didn't cry in public, saying everything was alright and talking about the wonders of Oldtwon, but once she was alone in her chambers, Alicent cried for hours;

• Alicent wants Aemond to fall in love and find a wife, but he has no interest on it yet and she doesn't find any of the ladies good enough for him;

• Everyday she pray to the gods for forgiveness for marrying Aegon e Helaena;

• She gives many compliments to all her children and is very proud of all of them, even with all their flaws;

• She likes Helaena's hair to look like the Oldtwon fashion, just like she used to wear when she was a young girl;

• Daeron was her most loving and affectionate boy. She misses him everyday;

• Everytime Aegon enters the hall during an event he kisses her face; 

• She never forced her children to dress in green, but Aemond always likes to use it;

• Alicent loved to read stories for her babies;

• She always tells them about the old king Jaehaerys and the time she spent reading and taking care of him;

• Everytime Helaena shows up in a new dress or looks prettier than the usual, Alicent says she looks like a perfect queen;

• When Aegon was a child, she used to refer to him as “our future king”. When Rhaenyra's sons were born, she told him he was the legitimate heir to the throne and that he would be king one day;

• She always tells Aegon and Aemond how much she would like to see them as tournament champions;

• She's not very fond with animals but allowed Helaena to have as many pets (and bugs) as she wanted as a child;

• She wanted to have another girl to be Helaena's friend, but as it never happened, she is grateful for her daughter and they are best friends;

• When she got pregnant for the first time, she was afraid of not being able to love her children, but the moment she saw Aegon for the first time, she understood she would never love anything in the world the way she loved him. She would kill and die for him and for her children. They are everything for her.

tumblr stop recommending me terfs challenge! yes i am a feminist, but i am also hugely trans and believe intersectionality is the only way forward. yes i believe in deconstructing gender and gender roles but i also know how important gender is to people's sense of self, and that it's impossible to try to categorize gender more specifically than "a [gender] is defined as someone who identifies as a [gender]" without excluding someone, just like when in metaphysics my professor asked "define what a chair is" and then pulled out so many examples of "okay, by your definition a stool isnt a type of chair" and "what about bean bag chairs" or "that could be a table, which implies that all tables are chairs"

terfs and swerfs could be fighting for and with everyone against the oppressive systems we live under but they're so set in their ways that they refuse to see how the patriarchy harms men too, or how even if the porn industry has a lot of problems, many people of all genders enjoy sex work and are fulfilled by choosing it as a career path, or how a lot of the things trans people are fighting for would result in a better world for everyone- but it's easier to just say "rights for me but all men are evil oppressors and trans people are either traumatised or are evil and anyone doing sw is coerced or damaging our fight"

So, okay, I made a post a bit about this yesterday, but I've had a lot of thoughts since then and a useful conversation with my therapist. So. Complaining about dyspraxia below

I haven't been formally diagnosed with dyspraxia. It's actually pretty much the only diagnosis I've given to myself without at least medical confirmation. But I've given it to myself based on both a lot of research and comments I have received from medical practitioners (e.g. my pediatrician commenting on my weak grip, not meeting developmental milestones on time, comments from teachers, etc). And today my therapist said she's pretty sure I have it based not just on what I've reported but what she's observed in the way I physically interact with the world over the years, so that was helpful and validating. And we contacted my doctor today to hopefully get a referral to an OT, who will be able to actually assess me, which would be very cool. Because I still doubt myself all the time and go "you don't really have this" except like...I do though lol.

Part of the reason I doubt myself about it is that it hasn't had that much impact for many years. But recently, that has changed, and I've realized that it's not that I got better, it's that I went on disability and stopped trying to do a lot of things I used to do and spent like all day on my computer and got assistance with most physical tasks. I'm doing much, much better mental health wise lately, which is amazing, and as a result I'm engaging more and more with the physical world around me, whether that's going on walks or to the grocery store or cooking or dressing nicely or eating in restaurants or trying art or whatever. Which is great!

But it's all. so. fucking. physically. difficult. Not in an exhausting way, in a coordination way. Pushing carts at the grocery store? I bump into things constantly and get really overwhelmed by it and a few weeks ago dropped a glass bottle of olive oil that shattered all over the aisle in the store. Cooking? I love to cook, but it takes me at least 2 to 3 times the time to make any given recipe because I know myself and know I can't multitask so I do all the prep all at once up front, and slowly at that bc cutting vegetables is hard. Putting on makeup? Better set aside 10 minutes just to try to put on lip gloss without going outside the lines. Going to a restaraunt? Often a mortifying experience where I a) bump into other tables and/or b) have food all over my shirt by the end of the meal, which is so embarrassing but I've struggled with it my whole life. And it's just. It's all really really difficult and often I feel so ashamed when I drop something or bump into something or get messy or whatever in public and it just...it just sucks. And I get so so so frustrated and flustered and overwhelmed when I'm trying to do basic tasks at home like hanging up clothes or whatever and it's just so difficult and frustrating for me.

And I had forgotten how hard it all was because for years I just spent all my time on my computer. But I'm not doing that now. Which is great! But I trip and stumble and knock into things and get lost outside and can't do the things I want to do and I'm just constantly reminded that the physical world is very challenging for me. My probable dyspraxia has really been interfering with my life lately in pretty significant ways that have surprised me, I had kind of forgotten how frickin hard it makes a lot of things. I consider myself able bodied for the most part but I'm remembering now that like...not exactly 100% actually. And it just kind of sucks. A lot.

The good news is that as I mentioned, we contacted my GP about it and hopefully I'll get an assessment and maybe even some OT and/or PT, which could hopefully really help me. Because I'm trying very hard to recover and regain some independence, and this is proving a more significant challenge towards those goals than I had expected.

Karma is a good Bashou [Hun] character piece... or if you just wanna see Bashou get a bit of comeuppance for trying to kill those kids with his Steelix in the Raikou special. ^^;;; Steelix is precious in it and I love fics that don't forget the trainer-Pokemon bond because that's such a vital thing to this world... even if Rockets tend to have some major dissonance in how they treat their Pokemon VS others...
