A whirlwind of anecdotes, puns, and unwavering understanding; that's how he entered my office on the first day I met him. He was like sunbeams bursting from a kaleidoscope. It's impossible to remain indifferent and not let it permeate every aspect of life.

Physically, he brought me biscuits in a pink box every day for three full years. Emotionally, he brought me hope when I didn't think I could have it. Mentally, he was a shoulder to cry on, and to my soul, he brought a balm to soothe wounds he didn't know I had and wasn't responsible for.

He forgave me when I couldn't forgive myself.

He had to return to his son in America, and we haven't heard from each other since.

I know that you can't hold onto sunbeams in your hand, but at least I'm glad he warmed and colored my life, even if only for a short time.

(Warning: this post is decently long. I tried to break it in to paragraphs so it’s easier to read)

Okay, but new South Park characters like PC Principal, Strong Woman and Caitlyn Jenner have such a different look from older South Park characters like Randy.

I mean, they have face shapes and actual body shapes and PC Principal even wears sunglasses, which in my opinion makes them feel extremely out of place standing next to older characters with older designs. I think that these new designs don’t work, and I personally think that they’re pretty ugly (but not in the way they’re intended to be ugly, like in a character design way. They just aren’t appealing characters at all).

And obviously there were some characters in the very early show with different designs from the standard, such as Barbara Streisand and Korn, but I honestly don’t care for those designs either, and at least those ones were only around for one episode. They were also based on real people, which PC Principaland Strong Woman aren’t.

I feel like early South Park animation had a charm to it that the new show doesn’t as much. Honestly I don’t really care how the animation is, as long as the show remains entertaining (which it’s not as much anymore imo), but I just feel that the new adult characters look out of place interacting with older adult characters.

The PC babies are another thing. New 4th graders such as Heather Williams look pretty true to form. I’m not a fan of when you can see the character’s skin under their shirt, like David’s outfit, but that’s just personal preference. The PC Babies are supposed to look like their father, and we’ve established that I’m not a fan of that designs, but I don’t know how often we see non-Canadian babies in the show. Honestly, I don’t entirely mind them. I don’t like the glasses or outfits, but the body shape is okay and I think they look good when they’re in onesies in “A Problem With A Poo”

If you like the designs of these newer versions of the characters, that’s fine. And I do understand that character design can help character’s personalities shine, but I personally think that South Park characters can be just as well without unique designs, and they look so odd standing next to older characters that it’s just not worth it. This is just my opinion.
