What’s an idea you’d love to create if you had the time/inspiration? well, i'm currently working on a soulmates au fic that's canon-adjacent of seasons 1-5, so that's been fun! (featuring romantic and platonic soulmates because i refuse to write only the romantic kind :p) i'm also fond of writing character study fics when the mood strikes. i haven't been motivated to write fic and post it in nearly ten years, but i'm very happy that shameless and gallavich have helped me knock some of the rust off the old writing skills.

What’s an underrated trope or concept you’d like to see more of? SHOTGUNNING. where are all the shotgunning fics. also nurse!mickey (I read a fic with this once and it's a crying shame there's no emt!ian/nurse!mickey fic--at least none that i've ever seen...)

What’s your favourite season? And has this changed after multiple rewatches of the show? i've only watched the show through once but honestly s4/5 are my favorites, but i have a special place in my heart for s1 and s10.

What’s a plot hole you wish had been answered or resolved? I mean the fact that they managed to convict mickey of attempted murder and debbie of statutory rape is insane. (the age of consent is 17 in illinois! and it's literally sammi's word against mickey's AND debbie's! but it's fine, just fine, everything's fine...)

What line/dialogue/description from something else (a poem, a book, a tv show, a movie, or something else) do you feel describes Ian and Mickey’s relationship? these two are the most siken-coded ship since dean/cas. in particular: little beast, saying your names, you are jeff, and wishbone. I even named my gallavich playlist on spotify after a siken poem, and half the chapter titles in my long fic will end up being from his works as well....

What do you think is next for Ian and Mickey post-finale? i think things are gonna go okay for them! i think that they may make their way back to the south side, but in a house of their own not too far from the other gallaghers. i like the idea of them ending up with a little girl of their own but i can also see them just being cat dads and being the best uncles to ian's siblings' kids. i would love for them to reunite with svet and yev later down the road, as well. there's endless possibilities <3

As a Fiskmatt fan, I like to see Fisk and Matt falling in love, but it seems difficult and illogical to make Matt to love a villain. Have you ever had the same problem?

Oh my god, auuuuugh! Yes! lol.

At times, the FiskMatt relationship does feel impossible given Matt's sanctimony. Some heroes are more morally gray, but Daredevil leans pretty clean. He has horrible anger issues and he'll bend the rules fairly often, but his one constant is "No killing." Which is obviously something Fisk does a lot. A lot, a lot.

So it can be difficult to reckon with the idea he would ever be in a relationship with Fisk— and that it could last if they ever were.

But not... impossible...

One ace-in-the-hole I'm always happy to have is Matt's canon relationship with Elektra. She's a morally complex murderer, and Matt loves her anyway. Though he does often grapple with this choice.

People can prefer Matt with other women from the series/comics (more than fair), but everybody knows his soulmate. ¯\_(╹◡╹)_/¯ Matthew Michael Murdock will (figuratively) stare a healthy relationship in the face, then about turn and get back together with Elektra. Again.

"I don't know what we are together, and if we have any chance in the future… I don't… But I… I do know that I'm free with you. Like with no one else."

I take this quote from Matt to Elektra in the DD S2 finale and very simply, very easily lay it over FiskMatt. Truly no effort at all.

I absolutely use Matt's decisions in his relationship with Elektra to justify a lot of my FiskMatt shipping. Because he doesn't agree with all of who she is. He even hates significant parts of it. But he loves her, and he'll always love her.

So when I think about FiskMatt, I already have this bedrock foundation of, "Yes, Matt feels very strongly about his convictions and morals. He will also set them aside and be a hypocrite when he cares about someone." At the very least, I believe he'd choose denial over confrontation. In that, if he were in a relationship with Fisk, they could constantly fight about what the man does, or they could choose to not discuss that part of their lives.

I've gone that route in fics many times. And yes, it is absolutely an unsustainable powder keg. But for me, that is part of the appeal of FiskMatt: a volatile combination brought together out of mutual affection that wants the relationship to last as long as possible while knowing that isn't forever. I get so excited at the visual image of them digging their heels into the earth while being pulled to the inevitable, wanting to be together and fighting all the reasons they can't be.

Granted, I have a strong love affair with bittersweet.

But then sometimes, I'll write FiskMatt where Matt cannot accept Fisk's criminal lifestyle. He gives an ultimatum that Fisk can have Matt or his empire, but not both. The idea that Fisk would give it all up for love sounds like a lot, but I can think of two instances where he has. (More if you want to get technical.)

Fisk is a cutthroat villain, but never forget that his center is so gooey soft for those he loves. Apparently, even a relationship with Matt can get him to walk away from crime (granted, the above situation is more of a familial affection).

I think if you cultivated a reality where Fisk really comes to care for Matt, he could be coerced into giving up crime for him. Which would remove a great burden from Matt's ability to love him in return.

Although... with such a direction, you still have a reckoning with Matt accepting what Fisk has done in the past, even if he won't offend again. Wouldn't that be interesting if Fisk gave up crime for him, only for Matt to realize it still isn't enough? He thought he could start with a blank slate, but he can't let go of the past. Or... you lean into, "Well, Matt is Catholic, and a big selling point is that someone's sins can be forgiven, no matter how heinous." Could go either way.

I do like to think Matt could forgive Fisk's past evil though. *gestures at beloved comic page*

But it is interesting to imagine Fisk giving up crime, Matt realizing it doesn't fix the past, still breaks up with him, and Fisk gets angry. Now he has no empire or love. 🍿👀

[Compromise]

I also like the allure of a middle-ground. Fisk still commits crime. Matt acknowledge he commits crime. But there are conditions.

And this comes from canon (series and comic) acknowledging that if you remove Fisk from the underworld, the ensuing power vacuum is so much worse and more violent than if you just left him. So you write Matt putting on his big boy pants and admitting Fisk has to be the Kingpin. The notion that there could ever be a crime-free, utopian city is a pipe dream. There's going to be evil. Let the best case scenario control it. Fisk is better and smarter than anyone else in his position. He takes over and keeps down gang wars, etc.

But if Matt were to admit that Fisk in power is the lesser evil, his conscience can't let the actions of it be a blank check. There are conditions. No one innocent gets hurt in the crossfire, so on. People who willingly entered the life knowing the risks? Fair game. That way, Fisk can still control crime with more than empty threats. Granted, I consider even this to be its own powder keg. Matt thinks he can accept evil men dying. The question is how well he actually does whenever that's tested. Maybe if Fisk works hard to keep it from him.

I suppose that goes back to them stubbornly wanting to be together and ignoring why they shouldn't be. In a situation like this though, Matt might appreciate that he controls the man who controls crime. I like in Jessica Jones S1 when Killgrave suggests Jessica stay with him and tell him everything he should do to be good. Delicious. Though I imagine it would weigh heavily on Matt's mind.

I guess what I'm saying is there are multiple ways Matt could handle Fisk's villainy, and how you approach it depends on personal preference or situational requirement. The answer in one scenario won't work in another. IE: if I write a fic where Fisk has all the power, Matt can't bargain with or leave him. He has to concede.

I think I've written several different options using the above or a combination. It just depends what I want from them at any given time.

But genuinely, Matt loving Elektra despite her darker nature remains one of my greatest justifications for FiskMatt. It really shines a spotlight on the fact that Matt's choices are different than we would otherwise predict. My guy can ignore so much if he wants to.

Can't tag as many people as I have WIPs because that means I'm tagging like 10-50 people and that's insane, I'm sorry, I'm just not doing it.

I'll post a few terror snippets and 2 non-terror ones:

Current WIPs:

The Fitzier soulmates AU I was blagging about on twitter. James's words are in Inuktitut (he thinks, after finally getting a snippet of recognition at Disko Bay) and he's now within the canon timeline, trying to find out what they mean.

....“Mikigaq,” Silence said.

The corner of her lip quirked up in what appeared to be genuine amusement.

“Meekee—” James thumbed over the letters on his chest as his tongue stumbled over the phrase. It was similar to what the man in Disko Bay had said, but not exact. He was certain it sounded different, before. “What is that?”

“Mikigaq,” she repeated, smiling more broadly.

“All right,” James huffed, cheeks reddening. He thought very suddenly of Francis’s hands, and how flushed the backs of his palms got in the middle of a tumble. A mercy he and Silence were alone, and no one else was here to witness him pinking up from stomach to ears with embarrassment. She was the only other person on this ship to have seen him in a half-state of undress, apart from Francis or Mr. Bridgens. “You have one over on me, clearly.”

Not to mention you do speak when you wish to do so, he did not say.

Silence’s mouth twitched again as he fastened the buttons on his shirt, tucked the tails away, then started in on his jacket. He’d gotten all but the bottom one fastened when the door to the hold slung open.

2. The Fitzier banshees of inisherin AU I've also mentioned on twitter. It's probably the closest to being finished out of anything I'm posting.

....Francis was already sitting near the door, by the fireplace. James saw that the second he entered, but decided to let the joke play out a little longer. He talked to Jopson for a couple of minutes, asked about his brother. Waved at Ned and George and Graham, clustered in the corner. And when he finally got his pint, he took it over to Francis’s table and gave the man his most winning smile.

“Very funny,” he said first.

Francis peered at him in an owlish way. “What’s that?”

“It’s April second.”

“Aye, it is.”

“Meaning yesterday was the first. So, to my point, very funny.”

“What are you on about?”

Instead of grinning at him in turn, Francis looked mystified.

“You played an April Fool’s trick on me, with all of the—” James waved his hand “—pretending not to hear me nonsense.”

“No.”

James had been prepared to hear something like oh or aye, well, it worked, yes? So when the word reached his ears, he came up short.

“What—sorry. What do you mean, no?”

Francis furrowed his brow like James was the stupidest person ever to have walked the earth. Worse than Billy Gibson who lived down past the Coningham house. “I mean, I’m not joking you. So if you’re going to sit there, I’ll just take mine outside. Sun’s nice enough.”

3. The banshees fic set in the OG universe, because I can't leave well enough alone:

....Silence had always bothered Pádraic the most.

So, even though Pádraic was sitting at Mrs. O’Riordan’s, waiting for her to get tired of lording it over the whole place, he breathed easier when the little bell tinkled overhead and Colm Doherty pushed open the door.

Mrs. O’Riordan fixed Colm with one of her beady eyes, glancing him up and down like he shouldn’t be showin’ his face in public. “Colm Doherty. Ain’t seen you in for nearly ten days, I haven’t. Thought you’d taken a fall off them cliffs yourself.”

“Not just yet, Mrs. O’Riordan,” Colm told her. He didn’t look well at all. His voice was thin, and his jowled face paler than usual. “I’ll take the rashers, half pound flour, and a bottle of milk.”

“Ah.” She clicked her tongue, casting him the scowl Pádraic knew right well. “Got any news for me, do you?”

“No.”

Pádraic looked down at the ground to hide a smile. When Colm got to answering questions with a single word, like, not with ‘no, but you just go on now’ or ‘no, and let me tell you something else’—then he might as well be saying shut the feck up.

“Men,” huffed Mrs. O’Riordan, as she wrapped the rashers in brown paper and tied the string, shoving the bundle across the counter to Colm. “You’ve got no news.” She fixed her eye on Pádraic. “‘E’s got no news.”

Colm grunted, and glanced left, down at the floor. Pádraic said nothing.

“What’s a poor soul to do without one word to ease her constant suffering?”

“I’m sure you’ll feel easier in the morning, so you will,” Pádraic offered.

4. The little sequel/epilogue to the Fitzier ship's marriage fic:

Breathing ragged, they clung to each other for a few moments, wordless, before James let out a deep breath, now nudging Francis’s shoulder with his forehead. “Excellent’s adage was hit first, hit hard, but I daresay….Christ. I daresay I….”

Francis soothed a hand down the soft silk at James’s upper back, already damp with sweat. “Now we’ll recover a few of our senses.”

James groaned out a laugh.

“Daresay I’ll need it after the way you teased me,” Francis offered in a low voice, squeezing James’s shoulder.

Lifting his head, James gave him a small, grateful smile that made Francis’s chest seize in delight, and wish to voice a sudden, reckless question.

“Did you really think about all that when….?”

“Mm,” James flexed his leg, still draped across Francis’s lap. “Not always, but on the long nights. When you’d drop off, I kept an eye out. Imagined all the ways I might wake you, apart from kicking you in the heels.”

Francis’s spent cock twitched in a pathetic way at these words. He must have made some noise of surprise, or shuddered in his chair, because when he next glanced over at James, his husband was staring at him.

“If I’m to continue hearing this sort of talk,” Francis offered, rubbing small circles on James’s knee with the flat of his palm, “let it be in a room with a bed and a door.”

5. A mikejimmy fic set in season 2-3ish of BCS, where Mike tosses out a quick lie about Jimmy in order to keep the girls happy. As always, things escalate:

“Kaylee, honey,” Stacey gave Mike an apologetic look, like she’d done something as embarrassing as fling her plate onto the ground. “Making friends is a little different when you’re an adult. You don’t—Pop-Pop just moved here, right? He might not have had time to get to know people.”

Mike was struck by the realization that Stacey was covering for him, not because she thought the question was weird, or because Kaylee needed some long explanation, but because she didn’t think Mike had a friend in the whole city. Hell, maybe not in the world—and he’d lived in New Mexico nearly twelve months. Christ, she must pity him.

“Mommy, everyone has a best friend.” Kaylee scoffed in a way that reminded him of Matty. “Mine’s Anna. Yours is…..um. What’s her name again?”

“Auntie Erin. You saw her yesterday.”

“Yeah! So who’s yours, Pop-Pop?”

Stacey’s cheeks had reddened. Kaylee was watching him, expectant. And the only name Mike could think of was reflected back at him from the brochure stand at the front of the restaurant, with a big cartoony grin on his face and that idiotic Miami Vice suit.

“Well, his name’s Jimmy,” Mike said gruffly, watching Kaylee’s clear-eyed stare dissolve into a pleased smile. “He’s a lawyer.”

Stacey looked relieved, too. Made Mike feel better about lying straight to their faces.

6. And we'll round it out with a romangerri devil wears prada AU i've had in the works forever:

....When he found the elevator, he went to the forty-seventh floor. When he pushed open the glass door to Kellman/Avery, a skyscraper of a woman was waiting for him, blonde curls puffing around her head like a cotton candy halo, wearing a green and gold dress that reminded him of snakeskin.

“Uh, so,” he said, figuring she’d been sent to find him. Maybe she was his assistant or something. “I’m Roman. Guess you’re helping me find the ol’ corporate dog crate, huh?”

She gave him a withering stare. “I wouldn’t lead with that in the interview.”

Then she turned on her heel, motioning him to follow. Roman was too busy trying to stop gears from grinding in his brain that he walked after her without another word.

“Okay. Let me give you a little context here. We are an international firm specializing in high corporate finance, and if you don’t know what that means, tell me now so I don’t have to waste my time any more than I already have.”

She gave him a significant look.

“Ten-four. Uh. Yay, corporate finance.”

“I’m Tabitha, Gerri’s first assistant. And we are hoping to find our second. Gerri has fired the last four girls after only a few weeks, and I cannot deal with any more sobbing co-eds fleeing through the hallways. So, you not only need to be competent at your job, but you also need to be able to survive here.”

“Okay,” Roman answered, glancing into glass-fronted conference rooms and private offices as they whizzed past. Posters. Sculptures. No wood paneling anywhere. “And Gerri is….?”

Tabitha stopped walking, flinging out her arm to stop him from moving. She looked like she wanted to grab his wrist and shake him like a wet dog. “I’m going to pretend you didn’t ask me that. Not only is she our chief executive, and the most senior partner in this office, but she is a legend in the world of trial lawyers. CFOs worship her. Politicians fear her. Work a year as her assistant, and every door in corporate America will open to you.”

I absolutely adore the way you write Harry and Ron as clever and snarky in their own ways (Harry's conversation with Snape was hilarious and clever in Norberta). All too often in Dramione fanfics they are shown as lesser than because writers want to make Draco and Hermione exceptional, but your D and H are incredibly interesting and smart on a level that still allows them to shine next to remarkably wonderful Harry, Ron and all the other fascinating characters you write

Thank you so much! This is a really touching compliment, because I share the same pet peeve. Something I was careful of when writing the fic was not to pitch Harry and Ron too OOC (as with all canon divergences, you increasingly can't help it, and I think it shows in Harry the most — I just have to steer him a bit harder than JKR does in order to develop him when I can't rely on his internal monologue). I think there are three major reasons that Harry and Ron get washed out in Dramione fics — the first being a simple plot mechanic to get Hermione alone and in a mental state where she would be open to a connection with Draco, which, admittedly, is pretty unlikely if Harry and Ron remain in the picture. By the time OOTP wraps, she and Draco are just so ensconced in their separate social circles that she seems to regard him as irrelevant in HBP, so obviously, if they're going to get together sometime in that timeframe or afterward, their social situations need to change. On the other hand, though, if a fanfiction is taken in some respects as a theoretical argument for how a ship could happen, I always thought Harry/Ron bashing was implicitly a sort of weak argument for D/H, because it requires Hermione to be totally iced out of her own friend group before she considers Draco as a friend or partner. Not to mention that you lose the opportunity to develop these rich auxiliary relationships (Hermione and Harry as unofficial siblings, Draco and Harry as foils, Draco and Ron as foils, Harry and Ron as platonic soulmates) that provide shape and contrast to Draco and Hermione's relationship. The books are a story about love and family! Different kinds of love! And deep platonic love, honestly, more than anything else!

The other side of the coin is that bashing sometimes happens as a natural consequence of having to Do Something About Ron. The need to retcon Hermione's crush and/or relationship and/or marriage with Ron to clear the stage for Draco means that a fanfic author has to just fiat some stuff from the books out of existence. And so you get Death Eater Ron, or Ron as a terrible boyfriend, or cheating, or just being cruel. Or dead! I've read a few where Ron just gets unceremoniously fridged, which is maybe a little better than character assassination, but also pretty sad for all rare us Dramione Ron Enjoyers. Like, I don't think that Ron and Hermione would work out, but I think that's because they share zero interests and tend to aggravate each other's insecurities, not because they don't care about each other, or God forbid, that Ron was secretly a shit person and a bad friend for seven years.

Then you have the final group, which is people who actually do dislike Ron for his behavior in the text. Everyone has that right, so I don't hate, and I can especially understand it if you read his arcs in Goblet of Fire and Deathly Hallows a certain way (I hate the first half of Deathly Hallows, actually, almost exclusively because of the dumb ass Ron's Vacation subplot). JKR doesn't do him any favors here, because she doesn't give him a real reconciliation with Harry or Hermione before he comes back in Deathly Hallows — all their fights sort of end with a shrug and a joke and a comment like, "wow, that sucked, let's not do that again," which is not unrealistic, if you're talking about teenagers, but also does not solve the problem that caused the fight, and we know that because it keeps happening in other books: someone steps on Ron's feelings, he lashes out, they get hurt, and instead of asking for sympathy or trusting his friends to mend his feelings if he explains them, he storms off to sulk. (This is a pattern that I imagine starting at the Burrow, when poor Arthur and Molly just wouldn't have had time to have proper sit-downs and debriefs whenever their kids fought, and so Ron's self-soothing method was to isolate — we see hints of this in Chapter 32-33, and again near the end of Chapter 38 — until he can pretend to get over it.) But going from just canon, it's not impossible to come up with a reading of Ron as this selfish jerk who gets jealous of his friends and screws them over when he gets mad at them. A lot of those people come to Dramione for the catharsis of watching Hermione find a bond with someone who just... doesn't do that, and I don't blame them at all. All the same, I hope Lionheart!Ron can offer an opportunity to experience the joys of Ron Enjoyment for a wider demographic.

IR / IH related thoughts (ship & shipper)

People who actively participate in IR/IH discourse aren't welcome, I'm just blabbering because this is my blog and I do what I want. If you're offended over ships that's your problem not mine

it feels like some Ichiruki fans dumb down their relationship to just being a romance. like it's always been beyond a romance, more than a romance, deeper than a romance, and not intended to be a romance. but you're not inherently wrong to see it as such, but it's more than just "they're in love." it's always been more than that. they're soulmates for sure, but that doesn't always quantify as romance and it doesn't have to be. even if they don't fuck their relationship runs deeper than water

There's one problem with Ichihime -- one, and it's a glaring one. Kubo's a misogynist, so he fumbled the bag on Orihime's character. Orihime and Ichihime do have a lot going for them -- The problem is that Kubo just decided to forget why Orihime was so important because he wanted to remind you that she has large boobs, in case y'all forgot.

The ending is abrupt and boring but of course people only rage about it because it didn't have the ship they wanted?? Like there's actual problems with it, with Kubo, and the line you draw is "Ichigo didn't fuck Rukia"??? like I think they're cute and all but that's not the problem here.

Both sides of the ship war are toxic, okay? Can a certain section of IH fans accept that people can like something that doesn't 100% adhere to canon? Like if you hate non canon ships there's literally no point of shipping. you don't have to send death threats over a goddamn manga. Are y'all allergic to fun? And can a certain section of IR fans accept that you can dislike a character or a ship without making it sexist? Like you don't gotta like Orihime but calling her the R slur is super not okay my guy

I love your blog! Your manga analysis is just brilliant.

I'd love your opinion on something I've been thinking about for a while. Do you think Yuu and Mika love each other in a romantic sense? Or at least one of them does? I know it's a shōnen, but I just get some total vibes from these two.

Hey, thank you! Honestly, mind boggling that you'd say that when I kinda just do random shit on my blog but I appreciate that!!

Anyways, about Mikayuu. They're definitely intended to give us vibes. I'm certain the creator wants us to see them as more than friends or family. And I do. See them as romantic, I mean. Even the other characters have acknowledged that they are completely obsessed with each other. They are always talking about saving each other, Yuu is affectionate and describes Mika as his reason to live, even to the point of wanting to kill himself if Mika is dead; Mika blushes around him constantly, wanted to run away with him etc. It's barely even subtext, it's just text.

But are they gonna get together? No. I don't think so. It's just queerbaiting, tho I do think that Mika might actually be canonically in love with Yuu, at least he's queercoded. Not only did he say I love you, even if that can be interpreted in different ways, he also has proven several times that Yuu means the absolute world to him and matters more than his own life, sacrificing himself to save Yuu and all that.

After all of this, I even believe that it'd be quite rude, if not blatantly disrespectful, if they don't get together in the end. I mean, they're so obvious it hurts.

Now, some people still disagree that they're romantic and I think that might be because of Shinoa and it being a generic shonen manga. Shinoa is the leading girl and that's her only role. Being in love with Yuu. Even Mika acknowledges that and even wants Yuu to be with her because, as I see it, he doesn't see himself worthy or capable of making Yuu happy. So he tells Yuu to be with someone else in hopes that Yuu can have a more normal, happier life without him in it.

But Yuu doesn't seem to care about Shinoa romantically at all. Are they still gonna get together in the end? Yeah. Most definitely. At least, I'm like 99% sure. Because it's a generic shonen. So the boy gets the girl, saves the world and everything's great. The end. That's what the story has been leading up to it seems.

Another thing. Mika is thousands of years old and Yuu was created Frankenstein style in order to resurrect him. He was literally made for him. And while that sounds romantic or like they're soulmates, their feelings could therefore be called artificial too. Or they have a reason to be so fixated on each other. Kagami makes it out to be as if their feelings for each other aren't real and that's why they can't be together.

Another thing to consider: the manga is trying to stay close to biblical canon, saying angels don't have a gender. What they also don't have is sexuality, so maybe Mika isn't even capable of attraction. If the plot is trying to be religious and Kagami wills it then God in this verse might be homophobic. That would be horrible...

Whatever. So the way I see it. Mika is in love with Yuu but doesn't want to be a couple. Yuu is oblivious and stupid, because for some reason that's what his character has been made into (he had potential to be smarter but since chapter like, 30 he's been dumb af) and doesn't understand romantic emotions yet, his own or others'. All he cares about is saving people.

So in the end, assuming everyone survives, Mika is gonna be a human because that's what Yuu promised him. And Yuu is gonna be a human too, who can finally concentrate on other things now besides saving everyone and keeping Mika, so he could eventually figure out his feelings for Shinoa and they'll be together. Mika isn't gonna mind it because he wants Yuu to be happy, so he's just kinda there.

I'd want Mikayuu to be together so badly but my expectations are low cause I'm sure they won't be a thing. And again, I do think that'd be disrespectful and I'd be angry because I've never before seen such blatant queerbaiting.

in this house we believe in James/Sirius supermacy over any and every other HP ship and we do not stand for J/S bashing

What made you ship it? Is there a reason to not ship it? Is there one good reason? There is none. Zero. Nada. Niente. Walla ishi. It's perfect in every sense of the word.

What are your favorite things about the ship? There's... something about them, idk how to explain it, gosh, but it feels very very equal(?). With literally any other ship there's the height discourse, and the top/bottom arguments, and too many times (like wolfstar or jegulus) I feel like one of the characters is being prioritised over the other, it's hard to find fics where the dynamic is balanced which is why I just stick to the writers that I know and like. But with Prongsfoot, I don't think I've ever read a single fic where it feels off. They're right for each other. The love is there no matter what, no matter the setting. They always put each other first and they're ridiculously obsessive and co-dependent in an almost toxic, unhealthy way but that just makes it all better. They are soulmates in every way and form and no ship does them justice like Prongsfoot does.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I am saying this with all the love and respect in the world (70% of what i read/write is wolfstar) but James/Sirius is the only ship that makes sense canonically for either of them. I love Wolfstar and I adore Jegulus and Jily and everyone - but if we're talking about what would realistically happen, neither James nor Sirius would bat an eye at anyone else even for a second as long as they had each other.

Hello! It's so lovely to see you in my inbox again! It's been a while! Thanks for asking me about Komahina! Let's get started!

If you had to change the pairing's very first meeting, how would you change it?

I'd easily have Nagito and Hajime meet while attending Hopes Peak Academy. I've always wanted to see how Nagito, still believing people with talents are the best hope for the future would react to Hajime the reserve course student.

Of course, we had a taste of that interaction in Chapter 4 after Nagito cleared the Final Death Room, but that moment wasn't Hajime's first impression of Nagito. Up until that point Hajime had befriended Nagito, betrayed by his actions in Chapter 1, and was now wary. If they met at Hopes Peak their meeting would immediately be hostile and I think that's a fun dynamic to play with.

2. What song fits your pairing the most?

I honestly am not sure. I am not the kind of person to assign songs to characters, ships, or series. If I do it's a very rare occurrence. Still, in the spirit of this ask I scrolled through my songs and I suppose "E for Extinction" by Thousand Foot Krutch could fit?

3. What is your favourite AU/prompt idea/trope for your pairing?

Not sure if it's cheating but my favourite AU is my Soulmate AU where Soulmates cannot kill or harm one another. I had a lot of fun writing that fic.

My favourite prompt idea is any time I can write one or both of them as supernatural beings. There are a lot of fun dynamics to explore.

For a more canon idea, I'm always weak to a good "What if they saved Nagito in Ch. 5" prompt.

My favourite trope for Komahina is Idiots in Love. They both deserve to be a little silly and disgustingly domestic with one another.

5. Favourite canon moment of them?

My favourite moment is in Chapter 5 when Nagito tells everyone he'll stop his plans if the traitor comes forth. If you go talk to him in the restaurant afterwards he'll dismiss Hajime being the traitor on grounds that "It can't be a reserve course student". I think that's so funny of Nagito to tell Hajime, "Yeah, there is no way some idiot reserve course student such as yourself could be the traitor. Go away."

7. Favourite headcanon trope/idea (Your own or someone else's)?

My favourite headcanon trope/idea is Nagito gets cold easily which is why he runs around the island wearing a full jacket the entire time. This also lends into my other favourite idea: Nagito likes wearing Hajime's clothing and swipes articles of clothing all the time.

17. Are they relatable as characters or as a pairing?

I think both Hajime and Nagito are relatable in many aspects. Hajime is relatable because of his insecurities in his abilities. Everyone feels they lack or cannot do something as well as others. I think it's human nature to compare ourselves to others and feel insecure.

Nagito is relatable in his awkwardness with interacting with others. I cannot tell you how many times I've botched making a new friend because I said something slightly too awkward or rambled on a bit too much.

Also, the feeling that since others are so much better or talented all you can do is sit on the sidelines is so relatable to me.

21. Favourite genre for them? (Angst, fluff, etc.)

I'm a huge fan of either one having a problem that accidentally draws the other one into the problem, thus making the problem they have to solve together. The comedic potential is priceless.

A much needed (for me) little rant

I hype up Regina's bad side not only because it is more compelling (and the writing of hers as a hero was choppy) but also because the whole fandom is so ready to jump on her defense and babygirl her no matter what, to a stupid degree

I hype up Rumple's good side not only because it got twisted and shunned by canon itself but also because the fandom is ready to blame him for everything 24/7 no matter what corner of it they come from, unless they are Rumbellers so they ultra woobify him solely because of that relationship, so they get no points on my book either. Rumple was a whole character of his own, he's not relevant because of that shitty ship, please and thank you

I probably can't talk with anyone unless they are a GQer not only because I saw that relationship from day one, from the moment they popped up on screen, but also because I recognize that almost every storyline they incorporated for Rumple and Regina, the themes, work so much better for Golden Queen or if they are related to Golden Queen. Everything makes more sense and has more depth. OQs storyline (pretty sure it was an original idea for GQ because the whole soulmate situation simply does not make sense for Robin, Regina would never even spit on him let alone having him as her soulmate while she and Rumple had parallel themes to their life and similar disposition) and the subsequent Zelena baby situation makes sense if it's about them. Rumple being forced to deal with his good side makes sense if he thinks he's losing Regina to the light and he can't follow. Regina being mad at him because he endangered Henry in some way makes sense. Belle going on and on about him hurting Gideon when in fact he didn't, does not.

I have so much more to say about them and it's just a pity that both the Ouat canon and the Ouat fandom diverged so much from what I appreciated in that show from the beginning of it. I still talk about them like a broken record because it's unfair and unlike anything I've come across in my life. The essence of Ouat I have in me was always equivalent to Golden Queen being an integral part of it from the very beginning so whatever Ouat ended up being and the fandom along with it seems to me like a monstrosity made by different part of stories that seem like they belonged somewhere else but they got bleached, painted over, scratched and cut to look like something new. And everyone's taking the final product at face value while I'm seeing a sacrilege.

i just spent however long reading all of your st posts and you're so right all the time! i adore steve and robin (and vickie). steve is my guy, my bitchy baby girl, my badass loser. robin is my girl, my awkward polyglot, my annoyed loser. stobins dynamic is top notch, they are soulmates, they're drift compatible, they want to combine into one person. and i'm so tired of people acting like anyone else can have this dynamic. i've seen too many posts (which any in the first place but it's been at least 6) in which people put eddie and nancy into the bathroom scene and it makes me want to pull my hair out. and there's so many things i want to put into this post ab how the fandom and st canon treats steve (overall, within his relationship w everyone, how they treat the concept of popularity (bc people like steve! he's a person people enjoy being around! he wouldn't be popular otherwise.), his intelligence (he's framed as stupid but his intelligence hasn't changed and he is, in fact, smart! and he's so emotionally intelligent and aware of everything) and how people say they love him and robin and stobin but don't actually like or understand any of them, etc.) and how vickie is amazing and vibes so well w robin and that she understands both robin and steve bc she has some similarities both personality wise and w her interests, and how people reduce robin to nancys (fanon) love interest or to bitchy autistic lesbian. (extrapolating on any of that would be like 6 asks and you've talked ab a lot of it already). and now i've decided that steves never done anything wrong bc he was genuinely in the right 98% of the time in s1, but people are acting stupid, so now he was always right. and honestly, i consider his s3 actions of letting erica and dustin go w them ooc bc in s2, he absolutely would've never, and nothing that happened between then and now would've changed his feelings on that. maybe i'm wrong on that, but it feels ooc to me. and he hasn't done anything wrong in any other season. also, i loved your post ab how steve became the person he is bc of trauma, how he doesn't freak out bc he knows he can't, he's the one stepping up to protect everyone and if he falters, he dies and everyone else is gonna be in more danger. any posts ab any of this make me go feral, so. anyways, sorry for ranting in your asks, i just kinda lost it a bit as soon as i started typing lol ✨️

everything you said about steve! i’ve even seen people legit put stars in steve’s name like this: st*ve which i guess do what you want but why can’t you even type a character’s name? i don’t want to keep repeating what you say so yes agree everything you said about steve’s treatment in fandom! i also 100% about vickie! ohh i need to talk about what you said about season 1 steve! people love to act like he was a devil or something but my dude just reacted to the fact that someone took pictures of him and his friends and girlfriend without his consent! then reacted to the fact that he believes his girlfriend cheated on him with the dude that took pictures of them when being a creep. like i would not act in a good way either. also like steve’s actions are on the same level as some of the other main character’s actions yet stan’s of their characters don’t have to say 24/7 the fact that their fav is an asshole.

about letting dustin and erica do that in season 3: i think it may be slightly ooc but also he’s faced against a kid who did go his own demands in a dire situation. i think after that he would realize that he can’t stop dustin from doing this so i think it may be easier to go along with it and steve can try to keep dustin and all of them safe. also we don’t know what happened between season 2 and 3 so i wonder if steve and dustin got caught up in shenanigans before

i've been working on this for a while now, and i don't know if i'm happy with the ending which means there might be more parts but we'll see!!

Y/n, Bucky, and Steve are soulmates.

Bucky had escaped from HYDRA and been found by Steve and the other Avengers before you. As the Winter Soldier, he didn’t really understand the concept of soulmates, but he always recognized the fact that there was some sort of connection between the two of you.

He knew you were important to him, he just didn’t know why. No amount of brainwashing could hide your connection to each other. You were hardly ever conscious long enough to realize he was around though, due to the experiments HYDRA performed on you.

When all of HYDRA’s files were uploaded to the internet, shit hit the fan. You were moved from location to location all the while Bucky was hunting you down alongside Steve. They stopped at nothing to find you. Every lead was followed, but location after location-- they found nothing but dust and the faint remnants of your smell. Something Bucky would never forget no matter how many times they put him in that chair.

“She’s been here Stevie. I can still smell her.”

His heart broke a little more every time they came up empty handed. Steve’s as well. Watching one of his soulmates work so hard and get nothing out of it was hard for him. All he wanted was to find you, not only for Bucky’s sake but yours too. He knew whatever they were doing to you wasn’t good. He just wondered what it was that made you special to HYDRA that they keep moving you around.

They received a lead that took them to the Brooks Mountain Range in Alaska. The boys suited up, leading onto the quinjet to take them to The Last Frontier, ready to fight like hell to get their girl. They both understood that you most likely weren’t going to be in good shape when they found you, so Bruce had come along as well as Sam and Nat.

When the jet landed, it was snowing hard, but RedWing had detected heat signals coming from a bunker somewhere inside the mountain it seemed like, so they looked for other infrared/heat signals and found what looked to be an entrance. Identifying an entrance and exit and then figuring out where Y/n was most likely being held, Cap and Bucky come up with the plan.

Landing in a place no one would see them, they unload and get to work. Bucky almost feels a weight lift off his chest. They’re so close…

Inside the hidden bunker, the hallways are mostly dark with lights along the walls. The team is on high alert, ready for any incoming agents. Eventually they make it all the way inside with no incidents. This place isn’t very heavily guarded which worries Bucky that maybe Y/n isn’t here.

Steve motions for Nat to follow him and Sam to follow Bucky, Bruce was holding down the ship, ready to take off and care for any injuries Y/n might have.

The halls are quiet until a HYDRA agent walks out and spots them, yelling for back up before he can be taken out.

“We’ve been found, heads up Buck.” Steve says through the comms.

“Us too,”Bucky grunts, letting Steve know he’s in the middle of a fight.

Getting past the guard that had found them they pushed on, finding what looked like cells. RedWing showed Sam that all targets have been neutralized.

Bucky isn’t the only one that finds it weird that this place isn’t very heavily guarded. Moving into the cell block, he finds the cells empty, until he gets to the very end of the hall.

There she is, chained to a metal bed with a thin mattress with a blindfold over her eyes. His heart stops, seeing her shaking from either fear or the cold, probably both. Yanking the old rusty metal door open, he approaches slowly, seeing her wince at the sound of someone approaching.

“Y/n? Doll, it’s Bucky. Do you remember me?” He knew asking her was a long shot but you never know.

“Bucky?” She whispers, shaking her head. The name sounds familiar but she doesn’t know why.

“It’s ok, we’re here to get you out. You’re safe now. Can I take this blindfold off of you, baby?” He asked quietly. He felt her nod and slowly slipped the cloth from her head, petting her hair back and trying to keep her calm.

When she finally caught sight of his face, it started clicking. She’d see him every once in a while when she was conscious enough to see straight and always felt a pull to him. It’d been a while since she’d seen his face though, but now she realizes why.

“It’s you…” Y/n whispers.

“It’s me, Doll! I’m here.”

Tears well in her eyes as he snaps the metal cuffs off of her wrists and asks if he can pick her up. Nodding her head, she tries to lift her arms to wrap them around his neck but realizes she’s too weak to really move.

“It’s ok baby, I’ve got you!” He cooes, wrapping them around his neck himself before lifting her up. She lays her head on his shoulder, finally realizing there are other people here with him. Whimpering, she hides her face away from them, scared of anyone that isn’t the man holding her right now.

It isn’t until she hears another voice that she lifts her head.

Seeing a man standing there in a black tactical suit with a red, white, and blue shield, with blue eyes and dirty blonde hair, she thinks she might not be scared of him. For what reason, she doesn’t know. He just seems important.

Y/n goes back to hiding in Bucky’s neck, slowly falling into an empty, dreamless sleep.

“She’s dehydrated and malnourished, which are things I can treat right now but there’s no telling what kind of mental problems she’ll be facing from the years of abuse she’s endured. I’m gonna hook her up on some fluids and keep her sedated until we get back to the compound.” Bruce explains to the boys, Bucky at her bedside and Steve standing off in a corner, brooding.

“Should we take her to Wakanda? Was she in the Winter Soldier program too?” Steve asks, stepping up beside the unconscious girl and running his fingers through her ratted hair, doing his best to lighty work out the tangles.

“No, I’m the only one still alive. I don’t know what kind of experiments they were doing on her.”

“Exactly, we don’t know what kind of experiments they were doing on her. So why don’t we call T’Challa and let him know we’re stopping by? This will be safer for everyone in the end.”

Although Bucky knew Steve was right, he couldn’t help but feel like they were just subjecting her to more testing. Things that would stir up trauma.

“Call him. See if he’s ok with us coming.”

“Captain Rogers and Sergeant Barnes, we are very happy to have you here!” King T’Challa greeted them as they left the plane, giving the two men hugs and taking note of the girl being wheeled off the jet on a stretcher, hooked up to a machine that tracked her heartbeat and another one that provided fluids to keep her hydrated. She was sedated for her own comfort and safety, as no one knew what kind of powers or abilities she might have.

“Thank you so much for having us T’Challa! We knew this would be the safest place to get our girl back in good shape.” Steve nodded curtly after stepping away from the hug.

“Shuri will take her straight to the lab and begin acecc her physical state, and once we determine her abilities, if any, we will lighten her sedation and acecc her mental state and begin therapy, just as we did with you, Sergeant Barnes.” The King explained and the two men nodded, following after them as their soulmate was wheeled into the castle, towards Shuri’s lab.

After about a week and a half of running different tests to see what kind of abilities Y/n might have, they came to the conclusion that she could communicate with animals. It was odd how they tested it seeing she was sedated, but her unconscious mind was still able to communicate. After that, they woke her up and have been observing her mental state carefully.

She was still having trouble understanding that the people around her were not going to harm her in any way. She wasn’t used to having this much control over herself.

They all quickly learned that Y/n was most comfortable with Bucky and was much more willing to cooperate when she was attached to him somehow. Her favorite way of being close to him was to be sitting in his lap, but she knew that wasn’t always possible. She would settle for anything at this point, because Bucky was the only thing that made her feel truly safe.

She didn’t really understand that either. Didn’t understand why their connection was so strong.

She kind of likes this place. It’s warm, the food is yummy, and Bucky never really leaves her side. She’s also warming up to Steve, which is nice. She likes making him happy, likes seeing his smile when she does things. Like when she sits next to him on the couch during movie nights, or when she brings him tea when she makes herself some.

She also likes the people who are treating her. She didn’t think she would and it took a while for her to warm up to them but once she started realizing they weren’t trying to experiment on her, she relaxed a little bit and let her guard down just the smallest bit. But they knew it was tremendous progress.

“Y/n, can I examine this area?” One doctor asked, keeping her hands where Y/n could see them. She really wasn’t feeling good this day and didn’t really want to be messed with so she shook her head no without thinking. Immediately, she tensed up, tears springing to her eyes and she flinched away from the doctor, afraid she was going to be punished. When the doctor didn’t do anything, she got even more scared, thinking she really fucked up.

“Ok, that’s alright darling. We can wait and do it another time.” She assured the trembling girl. When the doctor saw how terrified she was, her heart cracked a little.

“Do you want me to call in Steve or Bucky? Would that help you calm down a little?” Y/n frantically nodded, feeling like the walls were closing in around her, as if she was suffocating. She claws at her chest like she's trying to open up more room for air, her body feeling as if it’s attacking itself by not absorbing any oxygen. The boys rushed into the room as soon as they got the call, barreling towards their mate with urgency.

These men had seen war, horrible atrocities that a normal human mind wouldn’t even be able to comprehend, and the fear they felt when they heard their girl crying tops any other fear they;d ever felt.

“Babydoll, what’s wrong? What happened?” Bucky cooed, petting her hair out of her face and placing her hands on his chest so she could feel him breathing and try to mimic it herself.

“It seems she’s having a trauma response, Sergeant Barnes.” The doctor informed him, “I asked if I could examine her and when she said no, she worried I would punish her which triggered a panic attack. But I never at any point threatened harm, it was just her brain’s natural response to the situation. This indicates it has probably happened before.” The doctor explained and the boys nodded, thanking her. She left the room to give them some privacy while they tried to calm her down.

“Ca-can’t breathe!” She cried, tears slipping down her face, chest heaving, desperately trying to suck in oxygen.

“Baby, look at me! It’s ok. You’re ok, you’re safe. Breathe with me baby. In and out, just like that.” Bucky was on top of it, assuring her that she was safe and that nothing was going to hurt her. Steve stood ready with a cup of water and big cuddles when she was calmed enough.

When the heaving turned to hiccups, turned to semi-even breaths, that’s when he stepped in. Guiding the cup to her mouth, she took small sips, and clutched onto Steve’s forearm like she was afraid he’d take it away. He pet her hair back just like Bucky had been doing, elated to see how she nuzzled into his hand, seeking that comfort and warmth.

“M’sorry.” she whispered, tears still silently racing down her cheeks. Simultaneously, the boys shushed her, wiping the tears from her face and cooing comforting words to reassure her.

She nuzzled her face into Steve’s chest, completely forgetting her slight aversion to him. He felt like his heart was going to beat right out of his ribcage. He wrapped her up in his arms, swaying her back and forth to further calm her down, and he felt her breathing even out a little more.

“Want some more water, baby?” His voice was soft, his hand coming to stroke her hair again. She preened under the attention, nodding her head slightly and he looked at Bucky, who refilled the cup at her request. She lifts her head from Steve’s chest to sip at the cup, much slower this time, but she still clutches at Bucky’s arm, like she did with Steve, as if she thought he’d take it away from her.

She pulls away, yawning and laying her head back on Steve’s chest, closing her eyes.

“You sleepy, babygirl?” Bucky asks, his hand rubbing up and down her back. She nodded, holding onto Steve tighter. He chuckles, folding her arms around his neck and lifting her up.

“C’mon lovebug, let’s go take a nap.”

“So you’re both my soulmates?” The three had woken from their nap and were now lounging in bed, Y/n body squished between two super soldiers, but she felt at peace.

“Yeah, it’s not too common but it does happen. Although our case is particularly special since we’re from completely different time periods.” Steve explained. His heart preened at the fact that she had curled around him, her arms clutched around him while her head rested against his chest, Bucky curled up behind her with his face in her neck.

She felt so safe, more than she could ever remember.

“Do you know how long they had me for? Or anything about my life before them? Because I don’t remember anything…” She asked quietly, as if she didn’t really want to know the answer. Steve looked at Bucky, silently asking if they should tell her what they knew or save it for another time. Bucky gave him a slight nod, letting his lover know that now was as good a time as any.

“There isn’t any record of you before HYDRA, so we don’t know anything about where you’re from or who your family is, but it looks like they had you for about 13 years…” Steve explained, and Y/n nodded.

She knew somewhere deep inside her that there wasn’t any family to look for anyway. HYDRA wouldn’t leave anyone behind to ask questions.

“At least I get a new start…” She whispers, willing the tears away.

There was some hope that maybe Wanda could dig for some memories, but it might be better to leave well enough alone.

“Everything is gonna be ok, Doll. We’re not gonna let you go through anything alone ever again!” Bucky assured, nuzzling into her from behind. She felt his hot breath on her skin, shivers racing down her spine.

A sense of calm washed over her, despite everything she’s been through the last few months, even just the past few weeks. From being moved every few days to avoid being found, to being rescued by her two soulmates and seeing how quickly their bond formed, at times it felt as if her head was spinning in endless circles, but here in this moment she feels still, grounded.

She feels at home.

2. Talk about a favorite comment you received.

All of Rae's. Quite literally. I don't think I could choose one, I mean, I'd have to read them all and choose but that would take a long time 😂 Like I said in my previous post, her comments always made me feel better, because I'm very critical of myself so I'm never quite satisfied with what I write, but reading her thoughts on some phrases or paragraphs made me feel like I'm actually doing something right, (sometimes even accidentally!), so that was great and she's very sweet 💕

I've also gotten comments on Wattpad that have made me laugh 😂 The Spanish fans are *wild* y'all 😂😂😂 But some are also very sweet!! I'll share some here just so these people know that I keep screenshots of their love ❤️

7. What do you love most about being a fic writer for your fandom?

That I can do practically anything and it'll be better than canon HAAHHAHAHAHAHA.

Also, I love that it's such a small fandom that a ton of things haven't been done yet. Like, where's the Soulmates AU, and the Fake Dating AU and the Florist AU and an infinite etc? (At least we have a Coffee Shop AU courtesy of our dear @theuniversezecho ❤️)

Like, I'm used to very big fandoms where you can find Omegaverse, Sex Pollen, Vampires, Werewolves-- Hell, even crossovers with the freaking Nina Turtles 😂 So I absolutely love that there's so much that hasn't been done yet and I can write to add it to the ship ❤️

13. Describe your writing style. If you were to participate in an anonymous fic writers guessing game (like The Masked Author), what writing habits do you have that would be a dead giveaway that it's you?

Omg, this one's haaarddd!! Um, I guess if we were just playing inside the fandom you could say "the one that writes Simbar smut" and everyone would know it's me😂😂😂 (In English, because in Spanish there are many).

But um... I think something that I do a lot is write in trios. Like, I'll go "He was feeling this, this and this" or "adjective, adjective, adjective". It's something I'm trying not to do as much, switch up sentences structures more 😅

Another thing is the "He couldn't help but *do something*" that is so me 🤣 And um... I guess a lot of angst? 😂 Because I love it. What else... probably short paragraphs and uncomplicated words. I keep it simple both because I'll have to translate it later and because English is my second language and so I tend to forget some words exist 😂 OH! But I write very long dialogues in key moments. Like in Revelations ("What If") or Simón in the last chapter of Roads. He spoke a lot. Hope that wasn't boring.

My wishlist: HAPPY ENDING. ROBIN ALIVE. HOOD-MILLS FAMILY. BABY HOPE LOCKSLEY (yeah i'm pretty sure the c$ kid was named hope but oq nation claimed that name first tyvm)

What makes me happy about them: they are literally canonically in love and basically married and no one can take that away from me!! they're happy!! they made it to happily ever after!!!!!

What makes me sad about them: when they parted ways / semi-broke up? in season three i literally started crying. ngl i don't remember exactly what happened but i remember i was devastated. also ofc the fact that we're not ever gonna see them again bc tnt cancelled the show bc they didn't like it :/

When I started shipping them: shortly after watching creepslayerz for the first time i believe (january 2018ish)

My thoughts: i miss the golden days of steli nation. before they shoved steve and aja into a relationship. back when we all agreed steve was gay and eli had two moms. also literally they dID THE BABY ASSIGNMENT TOGETHER!!!! that's such a romance cliche and both of the other main pairs (jim/claire and toby/darcy) who did the assignment together went canon!! also also can we just talk about the fact that steve was sleeping and woke up just to catch a wad of paper before it hit eli? yeah. i won't forget

What makes me happy about them: the way they started working together, especially in season 3 when they brought all the umbrellas for the trolls ;-; also i am morally obligated to give a shout out to my ultimate comfort fic bc it makes me very very happy

What makes me sad about them: okay i say this with absolute no hate towards aja bc i absolutely adore her but. the fact that the writers shoved steve into a relationship with her. like it just seemed entirely unnecessary and then half the steli shippers jumped ship to st.aja :( like there is absolutely nothing wrong with that ship i just,, am partial to steli and also i hc both steve and aja as gay so

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: i can't really think of anything?? when i was reading steli fics, there weren't a whole lot out there (and i'm sure there still aren't a ton) so i was just taking what i could get skdhfgdkj

Things I look for in fanfic: once again. when i was actively reading steli fanfics, i couldn't afford to be too picky. mostly i just looked to see if it was finished or not skjdgfd

My wishlist: tbh i haven't watched anything since the first half of 3below s2 so idk,, steve and aja breaking up bc they both realized they're gay (but they're still besties) and then aja helping steve ask eli out

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: eli x krel is kinda cute but also i feel like they wouldn't last

My happily ever after for them: they travel around space together for a while but eventually they settle down and adopt a dog (sorry)

Hi! I have a totally random question lol. I've seen a few people compare Pynch to Wolfstar (and Adam and Ronan to Lupin and Sirius as people too). What I don't get it folks saying that Wolfstar was a 'better' (stronger? more interesting? idk) ship than Pynch. I mean..? I don't see it, personally. What am I missing here?

👋 hi! i’m gonna begin this (i’m guessing it’s gonna get long—i’ve actually filled two pages of handwritten notes to try and make sense of my many opinions about this) with a disclaimer: my approach to shipping is very different when it comes to pynch and other fandoms. normally, i’m not actually a very active shipper—when i read fics for other fandoms i normally look for plot and feelings and, because most of the time there’s shipping involved, i usually don’t mind if a ship is there and might actually enjoy it but it’s not something i tend to go out of my way to search for. i just don’t usually ship fictional couples romantically! it’s all the same for me if they’re canon or not (though if they’re canon they will have more canon scenes together so that might help me to eventually ship them? idk i’m just the least romantic person you can find out there 🤣)

so that’s why i haven’t read a lot of wolfstar fics (i think maybe 2 or 3 where the focus was on their relationship? i remember a quite lovely texting au) and even less meta—when i read hp fics i will look for explorations of harry’s abuse, which is what gives me feelings, and in those wolfstar is usually there bc they adopt harry or something like that.

that said, and having therefore canon!wolfstar in mind (perhaps the similarities are stronger in fanon, i just don’t know enough to say!), i really don’t see why people would compare them either (apart from the fact that they’re popular mlm ships?) and i do have to agree with you that pynch is a more interesting ship (for me!)

and, yes, i can see there are a few traits remus and adam might share if you squint, but imo once you start really thinking about it they’re two very different characters! they’re both said to be poor on text, but in adam’s case that comes from the family he was born into and if i remember correctly remus’ dad was middle class (i can’t remember exactly but i think he worked for the ministry?) and remus was poor only because he couldn’t hold a job due to him being a werewolf. idk if people’s comparisons go further and they see cabeswater as a parallel to the werewolf thing? but if that’s the case adam made that choice himself and he embraced it eventually and it’s actually crucial for the resoultion of the series’ plot! remus being a werewolf was great for book 3′s plot twists and for shunning him out of society and little else. personality-wise i guess they’re both smart? i do think remus is more the type to give up after a while but 🤷‍♀️ (oh is it bc if wolfstar were canon it’d be implied that remus is bisexual bc of tonks??)

now when people compare ronan and sirius they only look at the surface which makes me super mad! they say they’re the same just bc they’re brash? and wear leather? and were born in rich families?? but sirius was abused as a child and left his family bc he was the odd one out (which in the lynch family would actually be more accurate to say declan is??) and ronan’s trauma comes from a wildly different place! arguably niall (and aurora? apparently from that little snippet of mister impossible i haven’t read yet) were also abusive to him but definitely not in sirius’ way? (that’s actually closer to adam’s family’s brand of abuse!)

i’ve also seen people say the gangsey’s dynamic is the same as the marauders’! and i’m sorry but i really think that’s not true! for starters we only see the marauders as a whole in flashbacks! and not even then bc lily was not part of the group yet (i guess people compare her to blue bc they’re the only girls??) imo the marauders (or what we see of them) do not inspire healthy friendship feelings! james is the leader and a big asshole and only sees sirius as his equal—he is very happy with peter’s (apparent) worship and i guess they all were super happy to believe remus was the traitor bc they didn’t trust him enough (a werewolf will always be a werewolf) and everyone completely oversaw peter (which i guess is why he did what he did but he’s too plain of a character to have had believable motivations when he turned to voldemort) and he was considered second-class among the group. also that scene with snape in book 5, where we see them all together, is not the gangsey’s dynamic at all??

anyway. back to wolfstar/pynch. the only canon moments in which they give me similar vibes are, for wolfstar, in book 5 when harry firecalls grimauld place from umbridge’s office (i think it was that moment) and we kind of can guess sirius and remus are spending time together at the house and have this caramaderie going (that i guess could be interpreted as shippy) and, for pynch, back in trb when ronan is driving adam to the trailer park for the last time and he says: “man, you don’t have to go back in there” (and i remember thinking in my first read something long the lines of “aw, they are friends after all!).

so. because adam and ronan are part of the main cast of their series they are more flashed out as character (i’ll always think sirius and remus did have potential but everything was too tangled in the plot and, besides, hp is harry’s story!) and i actually do care more about what happens to them as individual characters! but i also ship them! their relationship and their dynamic simply appeals more to my personal tastes! i believe they are perfect for each other and i could read a thousand alternative first meetings and soulmate aus with them as protagonists and i’d never get bored.

as of wolfstar, well, as i said i don’t mind if i go into a fic and they’re a couple in there (they’re cute, sure!), and they’re great friends and obviously care for each other, but we do see too little of them together and how they would counter their respective differences for me to say they’re a perfect couple (they might have been in a different universe and i’m sure there are plenty of fics out there that explore that, which i personally have not read simply bc i lack the motivation to do so).

tl;dr: i like adam and ronan more as separate characters and i just love the dynamic they have in canon, which is why i enjoy reading/writing about them as a ship. imo, wolfstar had potential but hp was not about them and if people say they ship them i nod as i do when a friend tells me irl they’re seeing someone new and i hope they make each other happy.

perhaps someone who’s more deeply in the wolfstar fandom can add a different view to this?
