Because it's a time loop, incidents like the blinding are reoccurring, which means everything reverses back to how it was before at the start of the loop. This means that Heart isn't blind at the start of each loop, but as a weird sort of effect, each time he gets his eyes back(/unstabbed?) he gets an extra pupil and iris in each eye. Multiple pupils like in polycoria and such really mess with your vision, hence eyesight growing warped, distorted and skewed. After the 15th loop, he just started wearing the blindfold 100% of the time, because it was getting to the point where it didn't make a difference either way.

Well what about a philza who makes wither attack noises when upset? Or amethyst chiming when happy, bell ringing to catch people's attention, a warden heart beat to spook people, etcetc. Idk I just think it'd be neat :]

2023 was a total rollercoaster for me. From posting my first fanfics I wrote for a friend at school to that certain friend betraying my twin sister and and moving to an another fucking country afterwards... 2023 almost felt like forever and I can't believe its going to an end!

Of course, music and indie art/artists were probably the only things that kept my neurodivergent brain sane throughout this year. I discovered a lot of things; zinemaking, online zine archives and... I think indie zine scene and self publishing was my biggest discovery this year lol. I'm thinking of releasing the first issue of my zine in late 2023 or maybe even early 2024 but idk.

I think I grew more mature throughout this year too, I don't think I made much progress though, I still have a long way to go.

Yeah there isn't really any way to know what I've seen, but I look through all submissions so just throw some siblings my way and they might end up in the tournament who knows? I don't think everyone I do know will end up here either, I've (suprisingly) actually gotten a lot of submissions. Feel free to litterally send me anyone you can think of!

Like idk but-- something about how Laios is never once portrayed as desirable in the traditional way really gets to me. The entire series is about every kind of desire and how people deal with it, but as for the main character?? Sexually?? Romantically?? Not one single person. (There was that one auxiliary character but she was after his favor as team leader/perceived birth status, though he actually ran away from it all.)

There are even several jokes about how undesirable he is from a sexual/romantic standpoint. And while yes that does have some aroace flavor to it, given that he (in the show/manga anyway) shows no interest in romance or sex himself, so of course he wouldn't try to be appealing that way, I find it comforting from just-- a general standpoint??

Like that an author sat down and wrote a main character that's just plain awkward and unattractive in-universe, noticed, joked about sometimes (after all it is a comedy series), but the character himself is never ever The Joke, Laios is always shown as worth it. Worth watching. Worth knowing.

He's socially inept, the only reason he even shaves and cuts his hair is because he doesn't want to look like his father, he doesn't even care about romance let alone have the skills to be a good partner, and just... so what?? The story never asks us why. He just is.

He's the main character, he's himself. His story is worth telling, screw the love interest sideplot. It's worth seeing through.

he says i hate everyone except you and that is addictive and that is kind of romantic and beautiful because you're young and you're kind of a sarcastic asshole too and you don't like bad boys, per say, but you don't really like good ones either. and you like that you were the exception, it felt like winning.

except life is not a romance book, and he was kind of being honest. he doesn't learn to be nice to your friends. he only tolerates your family. you have to beg him to come with you to birthday parties, he complains the whole time. you want to go on a date but - people are often there, wherever you're going. he's just so angry. about everything, is the thing. in the romance book, doesn't he eventually soften? can't you teach him, through your own sense of whimsy and comfort?

at first - you know introverts often need smaller friend groups, and honestly, you're fine staying at home too. you like the small, tidy life you occupy. you're not going to punish him for his personality type.

except: he really does hate everyone but you. which means he doesn't get along with his therapist. which means he has no one to talk to except for you. which means you take care of him constantly, since he otherwise has no one. which means you sometimes have to apologize for him. which means he keeps you home from seeing your friends because he hates them. you're the single exception.
