so I’ve been in a bit of a superbat frenzy lately… so to salute the dc fandom and specifically all the fic authors I’ve stalked for the past few days…. here

it’s been quite a year-
I’ve been saying this every year but this year I’ve grown so much and that all thanks to the amazing people I’ve gotten to know and inspired me on tumblr I definitely wouldn’t have improved this much otherwise
All the people on here are so kind and so so talented and have truly inspired and pushed me to grow in my art even with this super busy and challenging year.
I wanna keep improving next year with lighting and backgrounds and storytelling thru my art and just getting better all around and let’s say just making these descriptions cuz I suck at em
but anyways here’s to the new year! :D

"It's too hot. I want something cold to go with it."
Drakken pursed his lips, but decided it wasn't worth the argument.
Another commision for @bcbdrums to "As the Images Unwind"
I really like how Shego teases him in this fanfic haha
anyho wips:
LONG LIVE CURVED LINES
I had a big problem with Shego's hands and her face because mouth wouldn't come out like in this sketch and now I can see that the eyes are placed strangely tho... At least I can see my mistakes and my pros....
Pacha meme refernce
- Drakken leaned his head back and glanced at her. "What do you mean?"
He supposed to have his head on the couch but I broke up the perspective as usual

I had a conversation with my mom about commissions--she’s of the opinion that you shouldn’t have to wait super long to get what you paid for. I’m the opposite; I think artists should be able to take as long as they need to finish a commission, and I’m totally cool with waiting for months even for them to get back to me. Surprisingly enough I’m very patient when it comes to commissioning other people lol. Maybe I just think that way bc I’m an artist myself so I totally get the struggle. (And I also take time with my comms too.) My mom is not an artist so she doesn’t really grasp the amount of time and effort it takes, so she expects results immediately. Which like. I get that too? I dunno. What do you all think? Are you the kind of patient person who’s totally chill with an artist taking months to finish your commission? Or do you want it to be done within a reasonable amount of time, like 2-3 weeks?

Thinking about setting up to start doing art commissions but the whole thing seems very daunting
I don't know how much to price things, like I have an idea of what kind of categories people generally list on commission sheets I just don't know how much I should be pricing things at
I have an idea for a sheet layout I just have to make it and figure out prices
I also don't even know how best to go about advertising that I do art and if anyone would even want art from me
I also am nervous about the whole thing in general but I want (and kind of need to) start offering to make art for others
So if anyone has advice or suggestions I would love to hear it

first tarot commission! hewitt best once of the kansas city breath mints for @waveridden. this was so so much fun
[Image Description: The tarot card the knight of wands with Hewitt best (he/they) as he central figure. The card is styled like a baseball card with knight of wands written at the bottom and the breath mints logo. Hewitt is a solemn looking Filipino man on a large gold horse holding up a baseball bat with one arm. He has black hair with green streaks at the front and wears a striped shirt, green trousers and white hi tops. Parts of him are turning to gold, including the entire hand that holds the baseball bat, larger patches around his eyes and two gold tears running down his face. There’s a street in the background with spaced out townhouses. There’s a bench in front of one of them with two golden figures sitting on it. End ID.]

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that somebody has posted your comic sans comic on reddit in the Undertale subreddit as well as the general comic subreddit. They’ve credited you in the comments and everything, but I just wanted to give you a heads up in case they didn’t ask you first/if you’re not cool with it.
... Huh. Thank you for letting me know- I don't use Reddit, so I had no idea :')!!
They didn't ask, and I'm not a fan of reposting, but I do appreciate the credit (and the fact that they have been correcting people on That One Panel)
Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about this!! On one hand I'm flattered that it was... "cool" enough to get shared to another site, but on the other hand I'm a little miffed that it was reposted in the first place?
I... is there even anything I can do here?? What is Reddit etiquette? I know reposting is pretty common there, and I'm not really inclined to report them or ask them to take it down if that's part of the post economy/ecosystem, you know?
Thank you again for letting me know, but I uh. have no idea what to do about this!

I am not in a dire financial situation at the moment but I do need some form of independence and something to keep me busy so I am currently wondering if I could open writing commissions
