Hmmm okay. I think we can theorize why, on a characterization level, Kid Kevin wants to kill Adult Kevin until the cows come home, but as someone who has witnessed these things, I reckon we should also maybe consider what's going on at the meta level

I'll explain through a little retrospective, for those who haven't invested any thought in Kevinology. From Triptych onward (at the latest) Kevin has been a widely beloved character, subject of many fanfics. When the Mudstone Abyss dropped, it was highly controversial to the crowd who had become very attached to various fanons: A) one where Kevin already had an OC boyfriend (Diego, or similar) and B) one where Cecil and Carlos take pity on Kevin, take him into Night Vale, unbrainwash and "adopt" him. A) is not important right now. It is to B) that we shall turn our attention.

I think Finknor noticed, since obviously they're on social media, that the Mudstone Abyss was unpopular at the time for not giving Kevin an unbrainwashing arc where he becomes nice, soft, sad, adorable and childlike and/or turns back into Pre-Strex Kevin. Instead, they portrayed Kevin as a complex adult man who is trying to reckon with a traumatic past but frequently does so in unhealthy and harmful (to himself and others, especially others) ways, and who is struggling to consolidate said harmful coping mechanisms with new adult responsibilities (a partner and step-son). People did not know what to do with this. They had existed in a fanon where trauma survivors are expected to turn back into their Before Selves at the snap of a finger, where trauma makes you sad, and soft, and uwu, and unambiguously better, for years at that point. I think that's why we didn't get any new Kevin episodes for a long, very long time. (Charles and Donnie have gained a handful of fans since. But I cannot overstate how hated they were initially.) I think now, with The Boy, the writers have decided it is time to address the issue.

Things can go several ways now:

Kid Kevin kills Adult Kevin and "make[s] a fresh start". The people finally get what they wanted: Kevin as a cute little kiddo who gets raised in Night Vale and gets doted on by Cecil and Carlos (and bonus Tamika!). The unpopular adult version from Mudstone Abyss onward is erased. Charles and Donovan, idk, are never heard from again. We have set right what once went wrong.

Kid Kevin and Adult Kevin reach some sort of agreement and part ways without a fight. The outcome can be the same: Kid Kevin returns to Night Vale, Adult Kevin is just never really relevant again. The fandom can forget all about him. We have set right what once went wrong.

Adult Kevin kills Kid Kevin. Unlikely, also a bit anticlimactic.

They manage to resolve the conflict in a poignant way that doesn't pander to thee most annoying subsection of the Desert Bluffs fans, showing that they stick to how they chose to develop Kevin in Mudstone Abyss and that he has a right to exist even though Cecil and parts of the fandom do not really like him. Holding out hope for that one personally, but who knows 😬

He does cute patches for Cecil and Esteban (he also did one for Aubregine, he never did for Khoshekh because like a proper cat he hated cute clothes) more rarely for his friends and since they adopted Steban he is learning to knit to make him a cute baby onesie of the uncomprehensive horrors.

> Jonathan Crane: When Jonathan worked on Gotham University he was a firm supporter of inclusion programs. He would never shame a student that was dedicated but simply didn't had the same tools as the others (be because they came from a school from a poor area with low govermental investiment or because they were neurodivergent or had to work all day and had no time to study or was facing personal problems stopping them from succed like an abusive househood or relationship or bullying or simply systemic discrimination) and would do all he could to help them. On the other hand priviledged students specially bullys always suffered in his classes and a lot of them became his text subjects.

Now since the hc ended up being more about Todd I'll also say that Dirk loves sweets and eats the head of people/animal shaped things first so they die and won't be in pain. He also unfortunally eats the cookie first and preffers it from the white part when eating orios. Farrah rarely buys oreos because of that and when they have oreos she and Tood refuse to look at Dirk eating it. Also yeah I'm a firm defender of they lvie together at Todds house after they created their agency. I'm firmly divided between Dirk/Tood and Farrah/Tina or Dirk/Todd/Farrah as my ships for the show (besides Amanda/Rowdy3, best polycule).

em your brain is sooooo big and youre so right lets talk about it. as someone from madrid (been here my whole life) trust me when i say that anyone who goes to the british council school here comes out with a very fluent british accent. if you ask a spanish person (esp in madrid) to speak english to you, youll immediately be able to tell if they went to a public/private spanish school (they have the typical spanish accent) or if they went to "el british council" as we call it (which youll have a british accent). so im genuinely interested to know if carlos deliberately chooses to make his accent more spanish in certain situations (its a very easy accent to imitate, hence it renders itself susceptible to very good impressions). i could genuinely write an essay about this i think, just analysing when he chooses to talk in certain ways its just so fascinating

KISS. genuinely thank you for the background - I assumed this based on most people adopting the accent they're taught second languages in but obviously didn't KNOW. and it makes it crazier honestly? like that everyone around him would've dropped the accent?! if he just spoke english as a second language I'd have nothing to say on this whatsoever, but going to a british council school and retaining your native LOCAL (!!!!!) accent in the second language but also being able to modify and drop it like he can? that's insane. like it absolutely indicates to me that it's a choice. also, I do think you can tell he's been educated in english - he has a big vocabulary and speaks really fluidly and easily, but again the heavy accent throws people off. idk it's really interesting.

I also think his default accent in english is the more spanish one - like, his radio messages are sometimes genuinely incomprehensible, and I don't think it's just the poor audio quality - I think the accent sometimes makes it hard to understand on first listen, especially when you don't have context as to what he's talking about. like... when the way he speaks isn't his primary focus, that's probably gonna be the more 'natural' accent.

++ re: impressions - I think he speaks english more slowly than a lot of spanish people, and the madrid accent seems to be less... idk. difficult for a native english speaker to copy? like, for ease of comparison - alonso sounds like he speaks with the front of his mouth. it's very light, he rolls every r but with the tip of his tongue, sounds kinda 'typically' spanish. and they're broadly difficult sounds for a native english speaker to imitate, right? but carlos sounds like he uses his whole mouth. he pronounces more of every word. all of which probably makes copying it easier? idk! obsessed!

then lewis (alpha) and daniel (omega cause he's the most baby boy ever) join their pack, then kimi and seb fall in love with valtteri and he joins their relationship, then seb adopts charles(omega, duh) who brings pierre(alpha) along and Daniel adopts max(alpha, also duh). A little while later carlos(alpha) joins the pack too, maybe before, idk. Mick (alpha) and George ( can't decide) join the pack after they're adopted by seb and Lewis.

Max falls in love with charles, daniel with carlos, Pierre with lewis, mick with George and they live happy ever after.

I love the idea that charles and mick act like loving siblings cause they've both been through so much and they enjoy being sebs babies, I also hate it where in fics one of them is sebs favourite or one is jealous of the other. No! They both love each other and cause chaos together and get away with it cause they're sebs babies!

ok so first of all I need to say that carlos is sooooo very vigilante coded already. all I did was see truth <3 (@dauntingday shares custody of vigilante carlos btw <;333) AND SECONDLY HERE'S THE PLAYLIST <33

this au incorporates my favorite headcanon that eddie and carlos are childhood besties btw <33 but basically they grew up together and were like Brothers and they were going to Change The World together!!! but then carlos' family moved to austin, and shannon got pregnant and eddie went off to war and they kind of. grew apart. but they both wanted to Change The World still!!!! so eddie became a firefighter in LA and carlos became a cop because they wanted to help people!! they grew up wanting to help people!!!! and carlos wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps!!! but it didn't take long for carlos to realize that the police force only helps the people on top. and the people who really need the help are the ones being oppressed and abused. and he hates that he's a part of it. he tries to stick to it because maybe he can change it, maybe he can be a good cop, but in the end he realizes that no matter how good of a cop he is, the system is still broken and there's nothing he can do from the inside to fix it. he needs to tear it down from the outside and still keep his soul intact. and so vigilante carlos is born <33

he purposely is using police colors but In His Own Way because his whole thing is that he's what the cops should be. yes visual symbolism is a thing of mine however could you tell??? his primary weapon is a collapsible bo staff, but he also has the generic vigilante arsenal (grappling hooks, throwing stars, smoke bombs, etc). the suit is primarily body armor similar to the stuff batman and co. use in the comics, and the cape is fireproof.

he takes the name sentinel (soldier imagery in MY carlos and eddie fic?????? more likely than you THINK) and primarily focuses on protecting the people over protecting assets and property. and he likes to fuck with the cops because he knows their procedures inside and out so he can fuck with them in a way that nobody else can <3 also as he gains more respect and admiration among the people, they begin to adopt his symbol as their own. the symbol of the people, as it were. kids spray painting the S on the alley walls, people scratching it into their walls with chalk, etc etc. I'm a slut for the superhero protecting his people and the people accepting him as theirs, ya know????

anyway the story proceeds fairly similarly as canon, except carlos has been operating as sentinel for at least a year BEFORE tk and owen moved to austin and put the 126 together. so he helps michelle investigate to find her sister, and grace is his oracle <333 she figured out he was sentinel fairly early and insisted on helping him. thus many late nights of grace and carlos poring over cases at the ryder kitchen table while judd played video games in the other room because grace and carlos' detective teamup arc in s3 was SOOO <3333333 she's on comms, and hacks into cameras and security systems to help him find people to help or people to hurt, depending on the situation. her codename is soteria (greek goddess of salvation, safety, and deliverance <333) tk and eddie also talk shop long-distance, and there's definitely a few instances of eddie talking carlos through removing a bullet late at night. and also eddie and carlos speaking spanish to each other. I'm right <3

he meets tk and the 126, and everything proceeds about as canon dictates, except sometime after putting the firehouse together owen retires and goes to live in the fucking. bahamas or something. idk where he is but he sure as hell isn't in austin anymore <3 before, carlos didn't really have anyone outside of his family to hide his secret identity from, since grace and michelle already knew, but now he has a new family to lie to, and he doesn't want to lie to this one. he and tk hook up and get together a la canon, but then a few months into their relationship tk finds out that carlos is, in fact, the vigilante running around austin all night. and of course there's some conflict there because tk's upset that carlos didn't tell him, and carlos is upset because he wanted to, but wasn't sure how, and also didn't want to bring tk into it anyway, and it's kind of a Whole Thing. but after they both have some space and cool off, they reconcile because I like miscommunication angst but only if it isn't dragged out super long. so there's a little angst but nothing huge. they're partners in crime your honor <333

SO. PARAMEDIC TK x VIGILANTE CARLOS. YOU CAN UNDERSTAND MY VISION CAN'T YOU <33333333 I have an UNGODLY amount of scenes where tk patches carlos up after patrol while they're both discussing the current case and bouncing ideas off each other. this is my very self indulgent au after all <333 at this point, most of the firehouse still doesn't know that carlos is a vigilante, with tk being the exception, and carlos doesn't want them to know because they'd gladly throw themselves into the field to keep him safe and he doesn't want them to do that!!! the entire reason he's doing this is to keep people safe and he doesn't want his friends to put themselves in danger for him!! but ofc they find out in the worst way possible because it's ME <3

carlos' primary villain is gonna be a pyrokinetic/serial bomber for a lot of reasons first of all so that tk can use his expertise to help solve the case and also because it's a sexy sexy trope to have an entire firehouse be up against the literal embodiment of evil fire <333 but sometime during this conflict, the bomber figures out carlos' secret identity and nearly kills him in an explosion, so tk rushes him to the one place he can trust: the firehouse. which is how the rest of the 126 finds out that carlos is sentinel because he's wearing the suit bleeding out from shrapnel wounds <3333333 tommy and nancy help tk patch him up, and after carlos regains some of his strength he and tk have to figure out their next move. so he tells the 126 to leave austin. go stay with relatives, go stay with friends, whatever they have to do that gets them out of the city. they're connected to carlos, which means they aren't safe anymore. and meanwhile carlos and tk are running to ground to figure out their next move against the bomber. and they go to the only person carlos trusts with this: his childhood best friend. cue the tarlos road trip from austin to LA and the scene where they're on eddie's doorstep and eddie just pulls carlos into a hug because they're BRUTHVERS ur honor.

the next phase of this arc takes place in LA as carlos recovers from his injuries and he, tk, and eddie try to plan out what to do next. and also uncle carlos playing with chris. I'm correct about that too

meanwhile, LA's own young vigilante is running around on patrol with a suit very clearly modeled after sentinel's, so after carlos heals enough, he goes out to meet her. and may grant wasn't expecting to meet the person who inspired her but she's very much happy to!!!! before meeting carlos her primary style was to hack into the phones and talk the bad guy down and lure him outside where she's waiting to Take Him Down (like she did in the most recent episode!!!!!) but then he teaches her how to do more detective/vigilante work. carlos mentoring may is what I'm saying. and they're both vigilantes. <3

may's suit btw <3 she looked at sentinel's suit and went "what if that had STYLE" and she was right <3 she modeled her color scheme after firefighters instead of cops, because she has so many incredible role models in her life who are also firefighters!!! her superhero name is peacemaker, which she modeled after her mom!!! may's entire persona as a superhero being inspired by both her parents is SO personal to me actually

anyway. carlos and may bestieship agenda <333

and ofc the good times can't last. because the bomber follows them to LA. and now it's sentinel + peacekeeper + a handful of the most batshit insane found family to ever exist + the most batshit boyfriend to ever exist against a bomber who can shoot fire out of his hands. also carlos and may working together to take down her first real supervillain <3<3<3<3

but ofc they take the bad guy down, and tarlos go back home to austin, but not before getting roped into Dinner With The Grants where athena pulled carlos aside and says "I appreciate you keeping my daughter safe out there but please for the love of god don't fucking DIE before we see each other again" and also carlos sparring with may that is ALL <33333

let’s be honest even tk saying it’s fine by him was seriously ooc you wanna tell me he obsessed about pretzel sticks and literally everything in his whole life but when carlos says no to literally his biggest dream he’s just like cool with it??? if that ok isn’t a fucking ticking bomb ready to go off at any moment then what was the point

sure it’s a great conversation to have on screen because it’s an issue many deal with, but i can think of a few potential storylines for either of them to be wary about having kids so this important subject gets the screen time it deserves:

carlos’ in the police and he gets to see daily how evil and scary the world can be

being scared he’d be a shitty dad cause his relationship with his dad took too long

tk being scared cause he’s a recovered addict (genetics, being overwhelmed, relapse… so many things to cover there)

trauma from the past

demanding jobs and how they aspire to keep growing on their careers

too hard and draining for an LGBTQ+ couple to even try (being scared of the heartache it might bring if it doesn’t work out)

hell even a discussion about if they should adopt or make a baby could have been more interesting and deep

whatever that episode was just ain’t it

I’m completely, utterly, madly obsessed with Matchablossom. 👉👈 I’m planning to write fic for them at some point, which is the highest honour I can bestow upon an OTP djakgjsdkgkd.

I’ve also got lots of TWST dynamics, romantic and platonic, on the brain. Jamikali and Malvil my beloveds, plus ultimate besties Jamivil, etc, etc. I want to write (more) fic for these ones, but my muse has been shy so idk when it’ll happen.

And ofc ofc I’m STILL and forever into Jaylos, but after thinking about nothing but them for two years straight, I’ve been letting them cool off a bit so I can enjoy them fresh, you know?

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending? 

I wouldn’t seriously die defending any of my headcanons since I find it… off-putting when other people unironically treat theirs as Secret Canon, so to speak, but that said, hmmmm, here's some faves...

Descendants: Carlos and Mal are nonbinary. Carlos and Evie were best friends growing up (out of my way, book canon djakgjksdg). Jay has dyscalculia. Jafar murdered Jay’s mother (I wrote a short fic about that particular headcanon). Some years after getting to know him, Roger and Anita decide to surprise Carlos with one of their dalmatian puppies as the ultimate show of trust and belief that he’s not like his mother (I wrote that one into a short fic, too). Beast is cheating on Belle with Fairy Godmother and everyone knows it.

TWST: Jamil has a pet tiger (remember how we talked about this, yeah, it lives in my head rent free). Kalim is like a Disney princess with animals. He opens his window and wild birds just come and perch there and sing to him and climb all over his arms and shoulders and he has one-sided conversations with them because he’s actually really desperately lonely and always yearning for no-strings-attached connection.

Vil has a cat (you: “named PRADA” and ur so right for it), which Malleus gave him. The cat is white and fluffy and has the soul of a diva idk ajskgjsdkgd. Malleus plays piano and violin well enough to perform at a concert hall, but he never brags about it or plays for anyone outside his family and, later, Vil, so it’s a little known fact about him. Vil plays guitar (as a hobby, so he’s pretty low-key about it; he likes to relax by sitting alone in his room in comfy clothes and composing songs on the acoustic guitar he inherited from his mother when she passed, which is another headcanon I have about Vil) and flute (professionally trained for a role, but it’s not his passion).

SK8: Kaoru doesn’t use labels, but if he did, he might choose nonbinary or genderqueer. Kaoru and Kojiro are both cat people. Kojiro likes to sing while he cooks and has a really beautiful voice, but he doesn’t seem to realize it; Kaoru thinks about complimenting him on it sometimes in moments of weakness. Kojiro’s hair is naturally curly, but he straightened it for a while in high school. Kaoru and Kojiro end up adopting Miya at some point. How it happens matters less than that they do.

Magi: Ja’far is ace and Sinbad is aro. That’s the most important headcanon I have for them. 💕

Yes!!! I agree 100% about papa and daddy, I actually asked bc I felt it was a little expected and cliché but maybe it’s just bc it’s perfect, like what else would they call them right? In my head carlos is papa and lando is daddy. can you imagine what lando feels when his precious kids run up to carlos and call him papa and viceversa?? Like I’m sure it takes them a couple years to manage to not tear up just from watching each other interact with their kids.

I also think they would go to IVF route BUT I had not thought about them having twins, I love that for them! When I read that I imagined them having twin boys but also, I feel carlos especially is like such a girl dad, like he would be absolutely done for if he had a little girl with landos eyes and gap toothed smile. I reckon they would not have less than three kids. Maybe a fourth after the youngest is like around 10 and they realize they enjoyed having little kids running around so much and maybe then they would adopt. Idk Hibi the possibilities are endless and I love all of them.

[this got super long so cut!]

i am WITH YOU. three kids close-ish in age, the first two being twins (boy/girl because FUCK IT WE'RE HAVING FUN HERE), and the last one much younger than the others. one of their kids is nonbinary i think but is happy to be called daughter (she/they). i still think their oldest daughter follows in the family tradition of racing, though they all go karting as kids because carlos and lando don't really know anything else w/r/t childhood lol. but they're good at listening to what their kids want to do and diversifying that way.

carlos is ABSOLUTELY a girl dad. he LOVES his daughters. he matches outfits with them. it's so embarrassing. carlos is so proud. lando is weirdly the parent that goes to all the parent-teacher meetings and gets super involved in school stuff. i think they have the twins while lando's still racing in F1 and carlos has retired (when they have their first kids, lando's like 28 and carlos is 33), so carlos takes the twins EVERYWHERE. by the time they have the third kid, lando decides he's happy with what he's accomplished and retires (i think ~33). so they're definitely older dads when they have their last, but at that point all the older kids are SO EXCITED and help raise the baby.

and oh my goodness they love each other SO much. carlos and lando fuck up now and then like all parents do, but there's so much love in the family, and the kids, even when they're being shitty teenagers, know their parents are doing their best. and i think they know how BRAVE their dads are for being so open about their relationship and family. so they're all very mature and appreciative. they grow up to be wonderful adults, and carlos and lando realize that's their true legacy; all the f1 stuff is fluff.

This started out as a kid!fic because of @thedeathdeelers talking about a juke baby in this post. It did not end up there. It’s much more of a character study I think. In fact this is roughly 2k and 1.5k happen before Julie ever gets pregnant. Idk what to tell you. 

I might try this again sometime and actually write something about the kid, for tonight though, this is all I have. 

That electricity he felt the first time he played the guitar is back, but stronger than ever. He can feel it pulsing under his skin when he looks at Julie. She turns to smile at him and he feels like floating. He just might have been wrong about what being in love feels like.

or: the three times Luke fell in love. 

Luke finds the love of his life at age 11. His parents buy him a guitar for music classes in school and there’s no looking back. He learns the chords the instructor teaches him with the kind of determination and focus that his parents have never seen on him. The boy that can never focus on anything for more than ten minutes suddenly spends hours sitting in a corner and trying again, and again, and again until he can place his fingers exactly the way he should, switching between the chords faster and faster.

The day he finally plays the first melody is burned into his memory for the rest of his life. The feeling of pure joy cursing through his veins is something unlike anything he ever experienced. There’s always the feeling of electricity under his skin, but with his hands on the guitar, it rushes into his heart and makes him feel alive in a way nothing has ever done before. 

He goes home that day, his fingers bleeding from the strings, and tells his mother he found the love of his life. Emily yells at him until her voice gives out. It’s their first fight of many. 

He dies only six short years later and in his final moments he’s glad to have found love, even with how short his life was, because how could something ever surpass the feeling he got when he had his guitar and a song? 

His stomach is cramping, tears are rolling down his cheeks and he is happy he’d gotten to experience the thrill of being on stage, the feeling of people singing his lyrics back to him. How could something have ever made him feel more?

He gets a second shot at life, or at least something close to it, when they tumble from the black room into their studio. Technically the studio is the same, the changes are slight, but noticeable. The plants all over the space, the chairs on the ceiling, their instruments missing and the cute girl register in his mind, but he doesn’t really care. He is back here by some magic and he is going to use his chance. When Julie tells them that it hasn’t been an hour but 25 years, he does falter for a moment. Why would the universe not only give them a second chance, but why 25 years later? 

Not soon after he finds out they can still play and people can hear it and all the questions go out the window. What does it matter why he is here? What does it matter if he isn’t actually alive, when he can still do the thing he loves most?

The next morning he hears Julie sing and something in the back of his mind tells him that he was wrong. Maybe he wasn’t actually in love with music. Julie sings and his heart that has been silent ever since the black room, throbs once in his chest.

In the following days they spend an intimate moment in the kitchen, sing together on stage and write songs together and that little voice in the back of his mind gets louder and louder. It gets to the point where he can barely ignore it anymore. 

She tells them how important the school dance is and Luke in all his rage and thirst for revenge ruins it. They go  to Caleb’s club and miss her dance. He looks at Julie’s disappointed face when they finally make it to the school and the pain in his chest comes close to the night he died. He feels like the worst person in the universe.

Somehow, she forgives them. He’s not sure he deserves it. But he is slowly but surely realizing Julie Molina is a better person than him and so of course she forgives him for hurting her. 

It’s when they are at Eats&Beats and they sing about knowing they can make it and closing their eyes when his heart throbs once more. Julie’s voice rings through the room and the words echo in his head. He looks at this girl that he’s only known for a couple days really, and he realizes that that little voice might have a point.

Even though she has forgiven him, his little stunt with Caleb almost costs him dearly. He swears to himself that we will do everything in his power to make sure she nevers looks at him like that again. 

They try to save themselves by performing at the Orpheum and it’s a n incredible rush to stand there on stage, to do what he never got to do while alive but the second they take their bow, he realizes that it didn’t work. 

Julie finds them later that night, on the ground of the garage where they poofed to because they have nowhere else to go. She begs them to take Caleb up on his offer and on her face is that same look that he never wanted to see again. He pushes up on his feet and walks up to her and tells her that no music is worth making without her. 

And really, while once upon a time he thought music was the love of his life, he now looks at this fiery, beautiful girl and knows, that while he no longer may be technically alive, he is much more in love with her than he ever was with music. 

But then again, it is hard to say where music ends and Julie begins. 

Julie throws herself at him and he doesn’t even think about it as his arms come up and catch her. It’s a couple moments before he notices that they’re touching. She pulls back a little, and it’s like a magnetic force that makes him follow her. If he could, he’d never let her go again.

It’s only later that night, that he realizes his heart is beating again. 

He gets an actual second chance at life because the person he loves more than anything pulled him back from the death. 

She kisses him the next night, on her porch underneath the starlight. It’s still fascinating to him that they can touch, so when she steps closer and takes his hand, his breath catches. She tugs softly on his hand, until he stumbles a step forward, right into her space. There’s only inches between them, and she has to tip her head back a little to look into his eyes. He never realized how much shorter she is.

She looks up at him with those wide brown eyes and smiles. 

“I’m going to kiss you now.” She whispers softly and all Luke can do is nod. Julie pushes up on her tiptoes and then their lips are touching. 

It’s not Luke’s first kiss, not by far. But it feels like it’s the first one that matters.

The sky is full of stars, but the brightest one is right here in his arms.

Afterwards everything happens so quickly that even looking back it feels like only moments passed. 

Ray gets them set up with passports and social security numbers so they can go back to school. Andi Park calls again and they end up with a contract and a label. ‘Stand Tall’ gets released as a single and hits no. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Half a year later, in the middle of Luke’s senior year they drop their first album. They spend the summer touring. Several more tours and albums follow and by the time they’re hit their early twenties all of them are set for life. 

Julie and him get married one autumn afternoon. The ground is dappled in flickers of light from the sun passing through the colorful leaves. Julie is the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. The simple white dress looks ethereal against her skin. Her curls tumble down her shoulders and Luke can’t believe she chose him. 

He stumbles through his vows, cries at Julie’s and slides the ring on her finger with a ridiculous smile on his face. Alex, Reggie, Carlos and Flynn whoop when they kiss at the end of the ceremony. Ray is smiling, his cheeks wet from tears. It’s everything. 

They buy a house a couple weeks later. It’s close to the shore, with a nice backyard for the puppy they adopt. Biscuit is a golden retriever and when she looks up at Luke in the shelter from where she’s hiding underneath a blanket, he knows he’s taking her home with them.

They get two rocking chairs for the porch where they spend their evenings with Luke’s acoustic and their shared songwriting notebook.  

Julie tells him she is pregnant two years later. Luke cries. 

Elena Rose is born in the middle of the night a couple days before christmas. Luke looks at the little bundle on Julie’s chest and forgets to breathe. His heart thumbs in his chest. His wife’s hair is pulled back in a messy bun and she is obviously exhausted. She looks the most beautiful he has ever seen her.

Slowly he steps closer. Elena is sleeping, her little fingers flexing against Julie’s skin. Her face is a little scrunched up and there’s a tiny tuft of dark hair on her head. He looks down at this living being he created and feels like his heart might burst. She is barely a person and still he loves her. He loves her so much it could span eternities and galaxies, life and death.

“She’s gorgeous.” He mutters. 

“I know.” Julie smiles. “Come here.” She pats the bed beside her and Luke is all too willing to slide in next to her. 

“I can’t believe we made her.” He says. 

“You want to take her?” Julie asks.”I’m going to be falling asleep pretty soon.” She doesn’t even wait for his answer, instantly passing over the little body. He doesn’t even get the chance to hesitate before she’s in his arms. Julie drops her head on his shoulder as he settles Elena on his chest. 

His daughter opens her eyes and looks up at him with wide blue eyes. His heart swells in his chest.

They get to take her home two days later and Luke puts her down in her crib. She’s wiggling a little, her hands and feet moving in her sleep. 

He leans against the door frame to his daughters room and watches her sleep, still unable to believe that he brought this life into the world. There’s a melody in his head and he’s itching to write it down, but can’t bring himself to look away from her for even a minute.

Julie steps up next to him, leaning against his side. 

“I never thought I could love anything more than you.” He admits quietly.”But she’s…”

Julie smiles. “I know what you mean.” 

He presses a kiss to his wife’s temple. “Sometimes I can’t believe how I got so lucky. I died in 95 and here I am, 35 years later with more than I could have ever wished for.”

“The universe has been kind to us.” Julie agrees quietly.

And as he stands there, with his wife in his arms and his daughter asleep in her bed, he sends a thank you to whoever might be listening.

I've seen you reblog stuff from 911, 911 lonestar, the rookie, and rookie blue, do you write fanfic for any pf those fandoms as well as one Chicago?

Because of how little time I have, I unfortunately can’t, but I do have ideas.

For The Rookie I was thinking of a fic where, because of COVID, Lucy’s ex bf and ex bff had to postpone their wedding, and because Lucy RSVP’d ‘no’ to the first one, the happy couple took their rescheduled wedding as an opportunity to  go to the district and try to get Lucy to reconsider and come to their wedding. They seem weirdly desparate so Lucy and/or Tamara and Tim dig around online a bit and find out that both the ex bf’s and ex bff’s families knew they’d cheated on Lucy and because they’d all really like her (for obvious reasons) they had been giving the couple shit since the beginning. They try to convince Lucy to come again, because if she publically approves then their famillies will have to ‘get over it’ they’re successful this time, on the condition that she can bring a date. So she brings Tim and theres lots of protective!Tim and cute chenford moments, and the wedding still gets ruined either by very bad luck, or because the bride and groom ended up being nightmares or something.

For 911 I actually thought of a The Rookie x 911 crossover where Lucy and Buck become unlikely friends after her serial killer thing and his fire truck falling on him thing and both Tim and Eddie keep thinking that the two like each other or something and are super jealous, which amuses everyone else. Also lots of Athena and Hen bonding with Lopez and Nyla. I think that it would be a series? Idk how long though.

For Rookie Blue I thought of what would basically be an AU, when McNally and Collins get back from UC, Collins is still grovelling and apologizing like he did on the show, but McNally is happy that Swarek moved on, actually meaning what she said when she told him that she wasn’t going to the Black Penny (because really, in the show he asked her to go, she said she wasn’t gonna, and then he acted all betrayed when she didn’t show up, Swarek was just so overdramatic about it, especially when she came back), and she becomes great friends with Margo early on which shocks everybody, but she’s honestly really happy for Swarek and just doesn’t want to be with him anymore. Then Gail figures out she’s bi, she and Collins break up, and then he and McNally get together.

Another AU where Collins doesn’t try to get Gail back when he first joins the division, they become amicable exes, and when Collins starts crushing on McNally Gail ships them. Hard. And tries to get them together.

I don’t have any ideas for 911 Lonestar, cause I honestly really hate Owen Strand (shitty parent and he just overall rubs me the wrong way) and that’s kind of created some writers block. Maybe Marjan gets an SO? TK and Carlos adopt his baby half sibling? Mateo gets an SO or maybe tries to get some post-secondary eductaion related to firefighting like engineering or something? Paul finds a bunch of trans friends and a community in Texas? Idk.

Like imagine Alex seeing the way Carlos just does whatever batshit crazy things he wants to and Ray is cool with everything that isn't dangerous. Imagine Alex picking up parenting tips from watching Carlos interact with Ray and then using them on Luke and Reggie akndnss. Alex recognizing toddler behaviour in moody Luke and Reggie thanks to watching over baby Carlos. Alex realizing he might actually have to be the dad friend now. Alex is super protective over Carlos, like ,,,, borderline overprotective. But as Carlos grows up, he learns to let go. Carlos has to get hurt a little bit to learn and though it breaks Alex's heart when Carlos keeps falling off the bicycle the first few tries, he might have been prouder than Ray when Carlos got it right and went flying up and down the empty street. So yeah, Carlos needs to learn about failure a little bit, but that doesn't mean Alex can't help him succeed, right? Alex helps him play baseball for a while, but then Carlos really gets that good at it and Alex just stands proudly and watches. I'm pretty sure that Alex has adopted Carlos at this point.

Speaking of Ray ,,,,,, Reggie seeing what a doting dad Ray is??? Reggie being in awe of Ray just rolling with his family's weird shit because he loves them and as long as no one's doing anything wrong or dangerous, what's harm?? Reggie being like a comfort blanket whenever Ray is down. There's just this warm presence in the room and it always feels like a loving hug. So what if Ray thinks it's Rose? Reggie's job is to look out for Ray, no matter what. Sometimes Reggie looks at the way Julie curls up against Ray when they're up late watching movies and Reggie wants nothing more than to also be loved by Ray -- just like Julie and Carlos. Reggie also always helps around. Ray was sure he lost his keys but there they were, on the counter he had checked. And Ray was sure he'd shattered the screen of his phone when it fell, but nope. Not even a scratch. Alex scolds Reggie for interfering so much but Reggie's response is always a single word "Baseball," which shuts Alex up pretty quickly.

hello hi! okay so i’m working on a few different things right now because i have no self control but i’d thought i’d show you the rough outline i have worked out for my reincarnation au since i just gotta super excited about the idea of it again. and also part of this juke fake dating au i have because i feel like if i post it somewhere it might make me actually finish it

reincarnation au

i work in a really annoying way in which i have to physically write stuff out first, so i’ve basically got all this on flashcards with extra information/plot details about each decade/century. and also a flashcard for each of the main characters, colour coded, with things that stay the same in each life, and points that tie them all together (i’m literally so close to ordering red string and creating a crime scene murder board for organisation hfj). 

i’m sticking with the greek gods vibe, mostly because i love a bit of greek mythology, which means rose is Hestia because the home, hearth & family vibes are strong in the molina household if you ask me. i havent settled on a god for caleb yet but i’m leaning towards one who deals with chaos? it’s still a little up in the air.

i’m still trying to figure out what’s going to happen between 300bc and the 1300′s because there’s gotta be at least one life in there somewhere yknow?

i have to say i’m most excited about writing the willie interlude chapter and boys as cowboys, they just feel like they’re gonna be fun. 

juke fake dating au

i really like what i have, and i love a fake dating au but i just...idk the motivation to actually finish it seems to have vanished and that makes me sad

“So. I’ve got a... proposition for you. Or a request I guess. A deal? An idea of mutual beneficial rewards?” Julie frowned, head tilted to the side as she thought about it. During all her rehearsing of this moment she had completely forgotten to think about how to actually approach the topic. 

Now she was just sounding crazy if the raised eyebrows Luke was shooting her way were any indication. 

“I’m listening. Unless you’re about to ask me to help you commit some kind of crime, then we might have to do this somewhere a little less,” he twirled a finger in the air and leaned in a little closer, lowering his voice to a whisper “public. Don’t wanna get caught.” 

He said it all with such an easy smile, calming her racing nerves without even realising that’s what he was doing. Or maybe he did know. Everyone always joked about how Luke was constantly wrapped up in his music, he didn’t notice much going on around him, but he could be surprisingly in tune with his friends' emotions when he wanted to be. Which is part of the reason why Julie was doing this, she reminded herself. There was a reason it was Luke she was asking. 

“I think we should fake date.”

The words hung in the air between them. And, now they were out in the open, Julie realised just how mad the whole idea sounded. The sight of Luke’s smile freezing, eyebrows rising higher as his eyes grew wider (a look that, under other circumstances would have made her laugh) had Julie rushing to get out her explanation before he could completely say no. She had put a lot of thought into this! 

“No, no, listen! I know it sounds weird and silly and completely crazy. But it makes sense! Dad and Carlos have been worrying and Tia is convinced I’ve sworn off relationships because I’m scared of getting hurt because of mom and what happened with Nick and Flynn is constantly trying to set me up on dates. Even though I’ve told them all I’m perfectly fine! There’s nothing wrong with being single and alone, and it’s not even like I’m alone-alone. I have friends. I’m not some kind of crazy recluse.” Julie felt herself spiralling into a rant and had to take a deep breath to pull herself back. Luke still hadn’t moved since she’d started speaking, though she could swear his lips twitched in an almost smile. 

“And! You’re always saying how your mom drives you mad about how you’ve never brought someone home to meet them. And Alex and Reggie are always teasing you about not being able to keep a date because you’re always scaring people away with your crazy intense music obsession and how you’re going to be forever alone surrounded by guitars instead of cats.” Reggie had gone into scary details about how he thought Luke’s life was going to play out, it was both terrifying and hilarious. 

“If we pretend to date for a few weeks it will get them all off our backs, we wouldn’t even have to change all that much about what we do now. Maybe just, dinner or something, hold hands. You already spend all your time here anyway. And then in a month or something we can have an amicable break up. Everyone wins.” She ended her speech a little out of breath, having rushed through all her thoughts. Luke is still looking at her, his eyes still wide and his smile frozen in place. But he was still sitting at the counter, which Julie was going to take as a good sign. 

“So? What do you think?” She chewed on her lip, casting her eyes down and trying - and failing - to not fidget with her fingers. Luke still hadn’t responded, hadn’t moved. Oh god, he thought it was a terrible plan didn’t he? 

Now he was never going to want to hang out with her again, he’d avoid coming to the cafe and stop inviting her to their gigs and she’d be down to only Flynn as a friend and she really would be a recluse. 

Was there a limit on how many cats you could adopt at once? She didn’t think her apartment building even allowed cats. Great, now she was going to have to move as well!

“Hey,” Luke’s voice was gentle as it pulled her out of her spiraling thoughts, and he must have been trying to get her attention for a while, she thinks, because one of his hands is reaching out to settle on top of hers that had started tapping insistently on the counter top. Julie hadn’t even realised she was doing that. 

“You put a lot of thought into this whole, fake dating thing, huh?” He says the words ‘fake dating’ carefully, slowly, like he’s worried about something. But Julie doesn’t know what. She nods her head though, blowing out a breath and raising her eyes again until they land on Luke’s own. 

“Even made a powerpoint. There were pictures and graphs.” 

Luke laughed at that and Julie felt all the sudden tension leave her shoulders. She’s reminded, again, that this is Luke and there is a reason why she’s asking him to part-take in her crazy plan. 

“I mean-” He pauses, tilting his head a little to the side, his eyes unfocused as he seems to think something over. Julie waits, forces her hand, that is still underneath his, to be still lest she seem impatient for his answer. Which she is, but Luke doesn’t need to know that. It feels like an eternity has passed before he’s blinking, eyes focusing on hers and a wide grin breaking across his face. Julie can’t help but smile back reflectively. 

“I guess it wouldn’t really change all that much about our lives, huh? We’d just get to hang out more. And it would be nice for my parents and the guys to get off my back about never going out on dates.”

It takes Juile a moment to realise what exactly Luke is saying. 

“Wait, you mean you’ll do it?” She had hoped he would agree, but actually hearing him say it is a whole other thing.

Striaton Triplets and the Carmonte Group

aka trying to fit in some elements from Pokemon Duel made me decide to have the Striaton Triplets’ spouses all connected to this group in some way because why not.

Pokemon Duel felt so disconnected from most of the Pokemon franchise purely because I don’t think the characters ever talked about Pokemon as actual creatures and not just figurines for a game. Still, I dig the aesthetics and character designs so I took and reworked some elements of the setting to fit it into this au because I wanted Luca and Tia to still have some kind of reference/shout-out to the app they came from.

So in this AU, the Carmonte Group is a group that, in addition to owning Carmonte Island which is an exclusive resort island, owns and operates several luxury and leisure facilities (hotels, casinos, restaurants, spas, etc.) in Southern Kalos. The Battle Maison run by the Chatelaine sisters is affiliated with the Carmonte Group as well, being one of the few establishments they have focused primarily on Pokemon Battles. 

Carlo Bellandi is the current president of the group, and he had adopted Luca a few years back mostly with the intent of raising a proper heir for the company.  Luca’s relationship with his adopted father isn’t exactly close, as he wasn’t really given much of a choice in becoming the heir to the group, but not entirely bad either since Carlo generally respected Luca’s own interests and privacy so long as it didn’t interfere too much with his training. Probably around a couple years after the 5th PWT in 2006 is when Luca is appointed as an Executive member of the group, probably Vice-President or something idk (company hierarchies confuse me i do not want to think too hard about this yet)

As for how the Striaton Triplets and their spouses fit in this, starting with the least obvious we have:

Cilan and Trinnia. Trinnia herself isn’t directly affiliated with the Carmonte Group, but her older sister Tricia works as a dealer in one of their casinos (c’mon she’s the one you gotta go to when you gacha in Pokemas i’m pretty sure this fits). Tricia is also the reason Trinnia decided to work as a barista instead of becoming a Pokemon Nurse/Doctor like her other older sister and most of her other relatives. Trista, Tricia, and Trinnia are all related to the bigger Nurse Joy family in this verse, though their mother is one of the few who didn’t keep the Joy surname when she married and had kids. This is still subject to change but I like to think of Cilan and Trinnia developing a romance like in some of those coffee shop au fics between a customer and a barista haha. They’re also the last couple to meet each other, but are the next to get married after Chili and Dana.

Chili and Dana. As stated already, the Battle Maison is directly affiliated with the Carmonte Group. They met when the sisters went to Unova for a bit of a holiday, with the triplets bumping into Morgan and Dana on the regular subway heading for the Battle Subway, though the two older sisters were going specifically because Nita had ran off and dragged Evelyn ahead to challenge the Multi-Train Line. (And that was the start of how the Striaton Triplets, Chatelaine Sisters, and to a somewhat lesser extent the Subway Bosses all came to know each other). I also have this oddly specific scenario that on the day they met Chili and Dana were wearing matching outfits that made it look like they were a couple, so there’s that sort of foreshadowing going for them haha.

Cress and Luca. Luca having the most obvious and direct connection to the Carmonte Group since he’s the heir and all. They initially met at a charity masquerade party (because I really like the whole masks gimmick that Pokemon Duel had) in Unova that Luca attended incognito. Cress had initially suspected that the “charming masked stranger” he met that night was Tia in disguise when he first met her applying to work in their restaurant but was a bit disappointed when it turned out that wasn’t the case, but he does develop a decent, professional relationship with her. He and Luca end up meeting again when he has a business meeting in the triplets’ restaurant, though this was kinda overshadowed by Luca and Tia meeting each other again after years of no contact. Cress finds himself involved in their little family drama and in the meanwhile starts a slow romance with Luca. Between the three couples, these two are the one that take the longest time between their first meeting and eventual marriage/having kids.

Box stuff:

1. I love that as well, and when Luke’s room is particularly bad. Emily will call Alex up (the Mercers had a household phone just because) and would hope that he was around to answer it so she could ask him to clean Luke’s room.

I love that Alex just casual knows where the cleaning supplies are. Maybe that’s something that Emily and Alex do together on a random Sunday or something, they just make food together and then clean up the house.

Oh yes, sometimes Reggie will join Alex in cleaning due to a particular bad fight. Maybe that’s how the boys know that Reggie’s parents had a bad fight because Reggie won’t tell them due to the fact that he doesn’t want to bother them. But due to him cleaning they just know (also the fact that he can’t lie to them). Exactly yes! Just as you said (I hadn’t finished reading the paragraph when I said my part lol)

Yes exactly as you put it, they just go up to his room just to think about when he was still alive and how him and the boys were safe there. Oh my goodness, yes they talk to him but just like with Bobby, they can’t get a sign so they don’t know that Luke has words he never said and that he regrets that he didn’t get a chance to say them.

Yes, and Emily will always regret that she didn’t put as much support into the band as she should’ve because now she can’t take back her yelling at him to do more work and or to quit the band because education is so much more important; that he will never be able to go far with the band. So I’m listening to music and right now the song is ‘Supermarket flowers by Ed Sheeran’ and if you change around some lyrics it could be something that is Emily to Luke. (Kind of how unsaid Emily is for Emily)

3. Exactly, it’s like I somehow reached the conclusion but I have no clue how to explain to you the processes but it’s edible so.

The boys are always in awe because Alex talks while he bakes so randomly he will say something like ‘fold the flour well what if I just don’t’ ‘how is this the recipe book it gives me no instructions I need like an in-depth explanation on what the heck this means’. And then the food tastes amazing, although they once thought that Alex was just not going to include the flour (also that he was going to give them salmonella by not cooking it)

Board games and jam

1. Alex is never running out of drumsticks is hilarious. Also just love the fact that this goes on for half an hour before he stops and then once Luke has been situated and isn’t expecting Alex to throw drumstick, he throws one more.

I love that, just Reggie being so competitive when it’s legitimately Alex sneezing because he needed to sneeze. Also the fact that Alex is ready to throw drumsticks at Reggie as well. Honestly at some point Alex has thrown drumsticks at everyone (even Caleb).

Among us

It definitely would, like Luke can’t do it for anyone else but the second Alex is imposter he’s just like I know who it is.

Yes, however once Willie did kill Alex just to throw people off of his tail. And yes, Julie will always kill Luke first and if someone else is the imposter they will try to do the same just so people think the Julie is the imposter.

Honestly the boys thought that monopoly couldn’t get more chaotic and then they played it with Willie and Flynn and they were like this is new level. Because Flynn is competitive and she is definitely the one who would double check the rules and call out any of them if they got something wrong.

I love that Alex will just give Willie money. ‘I have no clue what you guys are talking about. Willie just has money because you guys are bad’

Despite the fact I have played Monopoly I legitimately cannot tell you what cards Flynn has that make her better than everyone else but you are completely correct. (Get out of jail for free? possibly) Also just has really good luck at picking out chance cards (maybe one of the ones in the middle idk)

Honestly I was kind of thinking that Luke would jump the table when Alex said that he wasn’t giving Willie money and that they were just bad. But I love your addition so much.

I love the fact that Reggie wouldn’t speak to Luke for a week when Luke just can’t avoid talking to them for about 2 hours. (Also Luke does the same to Reggie that they would do to Alex and Jess is in the background of everywhere with puppy dog eyes because Reggie won’t give him attention)

2. I love this so much. Alex looks hurt about the fact that Willie is laughing however at the same time he loves his laugh. So Alex is stuck between because upset that Willie is laughing at him and the fact that Willie is laughing.

I’m glad that it changes as the story goes on, honestly right now I’m just not the biggest fan of Arthur. (I will definitely keep you informed, I’m glad that you said this because I didn’t want to over impose) Currently haven’t watched another episode so I’m still on the first one for now.

Wait yes! That is total Alex energy, also just Alex being done with Luke all the time. Just can’t believe that this is the guy he has to protect.

19. Agreed, usually by the point that Willie and Alex’s alliance is over. Than Alex will start one with Luke, and they will just bombard Willie with snowballs. 20. They are and we did get very luck with this cast. Because no matter who you look at, they all have such great chemistry with each other and work so well with each other. For example the band demonstrate such a wonderful friendship, as do Flynn and Julie. Just flawless performances all around.

Honestly I’ve seen those as well and it just makes me upset because the show legitimately shows and has Willie say that he had no idea that Caleb was going to give them the stamps. Like he wouldn’t say that, if it didn’t actually happen. Because, if he had done it in front of Alex then it possibly could be spun in the way that he was just trying to fake out Alex (lack of better word) but he did it alone with Caleb, demonstrating that he did not know what was going to happen.

Honestly same, I just want good Caleb who adopts Alex/takes Alex under his wing. Yes! I’ve also seen theories where Caleb is actually working for someone and it isn’t entirely him who is trying to take their souls (however I think that yours is much better and I actually feel like it’s a good way for the show to not have so many villains you know. Also in general your idea was well articulated and eloquently put)

Oh my goodness, Caleb only using his power for people who hurt Willie and Alex is everything. (Also adding Reggie to that mix because)

Understandable honestly Luke and Flynn would be such a power duo and anyone who made Julie upset would need to run for their life. (Also I am totally here for another tangent, I would love to see your thoughts). And yes them arguing over who loves Julie more and somehow this gets finished because Alex randomly appears and says that he and Reggie loves Julie the most.

21. So how Alex gets arrested, I was legitimately going to send to you in another ask but then forgot so here it is. Basically they are at pride and just a lot of bad things are said so Alex punches a cop and hence him being arrested.

Also I love that either Alex vandalizing some thing or arson is your first theory. Honestly I feel like it’s Luke and Reggie who would be the reason for arson and Alex and Bobby just getting dragged along. Also you’re completely right, going on with that, one day they did graffiti of the Sunset Curve logo. Also I love how after all of this the one thing he gets nervous about is a closed museum with no one there.

25. Honestly Alex and Carries friendship would be unbeatable. Also Carrie alongside Luke and Reggie would definitely give Willie a shovel talk, just have to say.

26. Honestly anything Willie, I just need and another hair flip is top of the list. What if Willie knows that Alex is short-circuiting around him and purposely does these things just so he can see Alex flustered. Also swimmer Willie is needed. And Willie twirling Alex’s hair is everything and I want that for S2. (Also at some point Alex braiding Willie’s hair)

32. Honestly anyone giving them stickers is completely true. Also yes, The person who gave Reggie the stickers was the park ranger. Who helped him locate the rest of the band because Reggie had wandered off

35. That is sad, also yes. Just Ray calling them his angels would be everything, also just more Reggie and Ray general.

I’m glad, mostly because ghost taking pictures for other ghost to be seen. Kind of isn’t logical but I just want Reggie to be able to take pictures of Willie. (Also the rest of the band as well)

37. Oh my goodness, that is a rollercoaster to read. Also agreed, Reggie just had no clue how to work the washing machine. He just had lights and darks all together and to this day Luke and Alex are very concerned on how Reggie turn some thing that was black into a like horrible red colour. Also yes, everyone was freaking out about how Luke could possibly set something on fire and how this happened in the two minutes that someone wasn’t watching him.

39. Yea, Ray and Trevor being friends would be so cool. Also agreed, since Julie and Carrie were close then they were kind of close as well so once Julie and Carrie fell apart then they just stopped being friends as well.

1. Yes I love that! Maybe when she and Luke argue he gets like. Really mad. So he storms off up to his room and if he’s in a really bad temper he does Classic Teenage Boy Angsty Stuff and knocks things over and messes up his room. So Emily calls Alex to A) sort Luke’s room out because there’s no way he’d let her in there to help right then and B) to calm him down

Omggg I love that so much, like mother-son-bonding time between Alex and Emily 🥺 I imagine it like you said, they make food and then clean, and they’re basically just talking the entire time as if they’re close friends or really mother and son - like Alex will tell Emily about school and any drama that’s going on at the time, or he’ll complain about someone being nasty to him, and Emily will tell him stories from when she was younger or “you’ll never believe what Helen from down the road has been up to!” And they’re super close and know pretty much everything about each other omg yes

Omg omg ok now you’ve said that - back to the AU where they could give Bobby a sign and then still join Julie, what if they had the choice of people to give a sign? Like they could have chosen Bobby, Luke’s parents, Alex’s parents, Reggie’s parents, or any other people they were close (or not close) to. But they could only choose one for whatever reason and they all had to pick the same one, so they’re between Bobby and Luke’s parents and they can’t make a decision because either way someone is going to miss out on hearing from the boys ever again and it breaks their hearts either way

Ok so I listened to the song and first of all ouch. I think I remembering hearing it like a few years ago but it hits different now. And I can totally see it being about that if the lyrics are switched around and it hurts. But also I couldn’t help thinking of how perfectly it fits Julie (won’t lie, I was/am literally sobbing while thinking about this) so that made me think that after Unsaid Emily happens Julie and actually goes back and she and Emily become really close (we might have already said this? Idk there’s been so many posts now 😂) and this song is playing on the radio one day and they listen and they share their grief with each other and it’s beautiful and emotional and then Julie learns the song and I’m gonna stop before I make myself cry again

Yes omg that’s perfect lmao, and if Luke says it’s Alex everyone votes for him without questioning it so Alex spends the rest of his time as a ghost just terrorising Luke and not bothering to sabotage anyone or anything else

YES the one time Willie did kill Alex, Alex got really offended and wouldn’t speak to him for an entire day so Willie vowed never to do it again. Also I love how that means that no matter who’s the imposter Luke is the first to die - he’s terrible at imposter because people know that if he isn’t the first out then he’s the one doing the killing

Flynn being competitive is everything - she gets loud and angry if she thinks a rule has been broken, literally she’ll snatch the rules from Alex and point them out to show she’s right. If a decision is taking too long to be reached she’ll just roll her eyes and take the money and give it to whoever she thinks is right. Alex just looks around like “I’m pretty sure this is my job??” but Flynn’s just like “don’t care, let’s get on with this.”

And honestly I really might write it after I’ve done everything else or maybe I’ll save it until I officially finish school so I can focus on it completely bc honestly if I do it I want it to be the best it can it deserves it 😂

8. Ok so this goddamn tangent omg. It also works perfectly for Julie and the Phantoms but I’m going to focus on Sunset Curve bc like you said Bobby being lost without them it’s just like yeah ok.

They are literally the perfect recipe for a band or even just a group of friends. You’re so right that their strengths compliment each other because they’re all good at different things and they all bring so much to each other.

Luke - within the band, he’s their lead singer, their frontman, kind of the main attraction. His strengths lie in writing, singing, and guitar and that’s what he’s got the most control over in the band. He makes sure they have great material so they can sound amazing. Within their friend group, his strengths are mainly with building the others up, encouraging them and believing in them (see the whole “we’re the only family we’re ever gonna need” and “Alex you’re a great drummer and a great guy” and “dude you’re like a human wrecking ball” etc). He knows how to make his boys happier and he only ever sees the best in them. He’s protective and kind and a lot of other things too, but he’s best at being positive.

Reggie - within the band, Reggie obviously plays bass and does backing vocals. I can’t stress how underrated he is - it’s hard to hear the bassline a lot of the time but it’s the sort of thing you’d still notice if it wasn’t there. He’s an integral part of the band and it wouldn’t be the same without him. Also I’ve made a post about this in the past but his vocal range is insane. The guy can sing. His backing vocals honestly are so amazing (especially Finally Free (and obviously Now or Never and Stand Tall solos)) and he deserves more credit. Not only that but his stage presence is phenomenal. In every performance he is so into it, way more than everyone else. He bounces around, he interacts with the audience, he spins and jumps and one minutes he’s on one side of the stage and the next he’s on the other. Reggie provides the show, he hypes up the audience, he ensures everyone is having a good time because HE is having a good time. In the friend group, he serves to make people happy in a different way to Luke. He’s a literal ray of sunshine, he cracks jokes, he smiles, he gets rid of bad feelings before his friends have a chance to feel them. He provides the joy and the distraction.

Alex - the drummer is such an important part of any band. He keeps time and they would literally fall apart without him. He’s at risk of being overlooked a lot because he’s at the back of the stage and can’t move, but he’s so passionate about it all that he still captivates peoples attention. Still he is more of a background part, but like with Reggie it would be obvious if he was missing. As part of the friend group, Alex is the most sensible. Yeah, he still lets them do dumb shit and he joins in, 100% but he stops them from going too far. He makes sure everyone is safe and is the one to stop bad decisions being made. Alex provides safety and comfort and is there for protection.

Bobby - as a rhythm guitarist he is also another really important part that goes overlooked as well. We don’t get to see him play much in the show so it’s hard to say too much about his role in the band as a whole, but he does add that extra little something - sure, they could probably have the band without him, but it wouldn’t be the same. There would be something missing or not quite right, a gap that would need filling because it wouldn’t have that complete, full sound. As we’ve discussed before, Bobby is like the group’s counsellor. He’s there to listen to their problems, to help them through it, to listen and understand what they’re going through. Bobby provides a listening ear and somebody to talk to when things are difficult.

So all their strengths match because they’re all different and they all pull together to make one functioning band.

But then when three of them are gone, Bobby is left all alone. He doesn’t have Luke there anymore he reassure him and tell him everything is going to be fine and that he’s strong enough to get through it; he doesn’t have Reggie there to say something - anything - and make him smile just for the sake of smiling; he doesn’t have Alex there to stop him from doing something stupid (like stealing their music or doing any number of reckless things he could have done over the years); and he can’t take his own advice and move on without all of them there to help him through it. It could have been any member of Sunset Curve who was left behind that night, but no matter what they would have fallen apart because all they ever needed was each other and without that they lose all ability to function.

11. Lmao yes he managed to meet a load of celebrities because he would go to a lot of concerts and meet them but he just wouldn’t think to explain that when he told people so they didn’t think he was telling the truth

17. Lmao he definitely has Nick’s baby pictures. When they eventually find out that Caleb is possessing Nick, Reggie dedicates a page to Nick in his Caleb scrapbook because technically they were the same person for a while and that’s where the baby photos go

Yessssss that’s brilliant. The real reason Reggie doesn’t get to Stand Tall until after Alex is because he tugged on Caleb’s sleeve first and was like “real quick I need your baby photos. You can give them to me whenever” then he poofs out. He has his priorities in order

I love that, like the alliances start as Alex and Willie, Reggie and Luke, Julie and Carlos but over time Alex and Willie turn on each other and use any opportunity for attack, Reggie and Luke start arguing because one of them accidentally got the other, and right from the start Carlos is pelting Julie with snowballs over and over again so they very quickly divide into the absolutely perfect dream teams you said!!

Like I don’t watch all the behind the scenes and the only time I really find anything out about the cast is scrolling through Instagram every other day or on here, but still everything I’ve seen of them together shows that they’re basically a little family. And like you said they all have so much chemistry on screen, their dynamics are so beautifully built and the best part is that there are not bad actors! I won’t lie, like there’s time from all of them when the acting isn’t perfect but that’s the same with any actor or actress and overall they do incredibly
