Becca Sillvers - middle kid with daddy issues and strong feral gremlin energy, basically becomes a computer virus after accident and has an overall bad time before deciding to pick a fight with the world

Cory "Diamond" Blythe - has only the power of anime, glitter and vodka on their side. basically made a deal with this world's equivalent of "rumpelstiltskin" (but not really) and regrets life choices.

Luka Stormme - guy with anger issues becomes vigilante during business days after a couple boxing classes. is the "soccer-mom" to his cousins and his friends when he's not fighting crime

Cass Holborn - dropout with a bunch of explosive chemicals in his garage builds underworld empire while successfully failing, but somehow managing, to raise sister

Nydia Tainnen - unstable ballerina with severe childhood trauma decides to become an assassin and give a middle finger to the government

Matthias Harke - runaway tries to keep his friends out of trouble when they decide to mess with the worst people possible, ends up having to take the lead.

Samantha Holborn - troublemaking teen who never learned the meaning of "none of your business" and had too much free time sneaks somewhere she should not be and causes chaos

Jym Callister - over-caffeinated insomniac takes up computer hacking as a way to avoid his problems and just be a menace

Summary: Seraphine Malfoy had been raised in California by her Squib parents with no knowledge of her family's magical heritage, though she has received lessons from a local family. When she discovers she’s the sole heir to the Malfoy family, she leaves for England to step into that role. She can handle the balls and the responsibilities and her new family members. The only thing that throws her completely off is the appearance of Death Eater turned war hero Regulus Black, who, despite being ridiculously full of himself, is far too good looking, charming—and far too persistent—for her own good.

Author’s Note:

So you may or may not be aware of this already, but I’ve been working on this for awhile. It’s not done yet, I’m just posting it in honor of Sera’s birthday, which is today. I’m currently working on chapter nine, and I suspect I’ll need at least another three. I’ll be posting every other day, I figure. Also part of the fun of writing this for me was seeing how much stuff I could put in there that would piss off JKR. So the OC is Jewish (her parents converted prior to her birth), and if anybody @s me about how I wrote it incorrectly (I don’t think I did, though) please know that I’m writing her growing up Jewish based how I grew up. You don’t need any understanding of Judaism in order to read the fic, I don’t think. Her best friend is a trans woman, too, which is fun. The trans woman in question is based on my irl best friend, who worked closely with me on “her” character.

Other things to note:

I play it fast and loose with the lore; I change what I don’t like and treat canon as fic inspo. I have indeed read the books, I’ve done tons of research, and I have a family tree made for the fic, same as I always do. I also have every outfit I describe of Sera’s as well as 3D tours of most of the houses described.

Sera was raised entirely separate from Wizarding society, British or US. She has no knowledge of it. This means she’ll use different words for things and spells (relocate instead of apparate, blue animal instead of patronus, that kind of thing). If something seems a little bit odd to you, chances are I explain it later.

Sera does not use a wand. She is not necessarily more powerful than your average witch, it’s just that she learned without one. You may be aware that canonically, Native American witches and wizards (Sera learns from one such family) didn’t use wands, and supposedly their magic was less powerful. I think that’s stupid. If a wand is a lightning rod, that doesn’t mean the lightning isn’t powerful outside of it, it’s just not as concentrated. As a result, the way Sera learned was without a wand but with more force behind each spell. She also learned in Awaswas, the native language of the Uypi tribe (historically they were a tribe living in the Santa Cruz mountains of Northern California, but unfortunately they are extinct now. However, I figure there’s no reason that magical families wouldn’t have been just fine against the colonizers), but she uses nonverbal magic almost exclusively now.

Sure! Just get me started on some specific concept or aspect. I have a lot of little ideas but no 'central' way that I unite them all

I'm gonna share my little self-indulgent headcanon about this, though. I made a bit of an OC out of the blog title (since I picked it at random), his name is actually Bonefall and he helps translate Clan stories into human language. His human partner, Dr. Hunter, is an anthropologist investigating clan society.

What should I call the conlang? Clannish? Clanmew? clanyru like cymru

Oh! I'll start with pronouns!

Pronouns, Inclusion, and Patrols

Pronouns in clan language are NOT gendered; others are referred to in varying levels of closeness or threat. Clan language has special modifiers for different types of 'we' that rest on a singular pronoun.

(Clanmate) He patrolled = "Urr pabpab" (Other Clan) He patrolled = "Rarr pabpab" (Clanmate) We patrolled = "Urri pabpab" (Clanmate) They patrolled (without me) = "Urrk pabpab" (Clanmate) You patrolled (without me) = "Urrsk pabpab"

There is no self-referential pronoun. There is no 'I/me/myself' in Clannish-- only "Mine," added as a possessive modifier at the end of a person, place, or thing. Cats in general have a very self-centered language; when you aren't using a pronoun, by default, you are stating something about yourself.

Threat Level/Pronoun List

This doesn't necessarily mean 'danger,' so much as the level of caution you would approach the given thing with. It's a sign of submission, even cowardice, to use dangerous pronouns for non-threatening things.

Format: (Their/You)

Wi/Wees The softest, weakest possible way to refer to a person... used exclusively for babies, and prey. "Mousebrain" is either Wiwoo (them-mousemind) or Weeswoo (you-mousemind).

Nya/Nyams This is family and closeness, moreso than a Clanmate or a trusted ally. If Hollyleaf hadn't been playful earlier, she would have simply responded "nyams."

Pyrr/Pyrrs For apprentices, medicine cats, elders, exhausted warriors, and other non-combatants, but also for friends. It's a neutral-weak pronoun-- it can be sympathetic or patronizing in the wrong situation, but at most it would be over-familiar if used incorrectly. This is also used on useful objects, like nests, herbs, Jayfeather's stick, etc.

Urr/Urrs A capable clanmate, carries an implication that they are able to hunt or fight at the described moment. The term carries endearment-- the old RiverClan river was referred to with Urrs, for respect. Strong, worthy prey is in this category (RiverClan refers to a lot of big fish with urrs)

Rarr/Rarrs Now we're in the 'outsider' category. These are not used on clanmates without insult. Used for things that require extra caution, or aren't trusted. A lot of twoleg things like fences and bridges are 'rarr'. The cats who live in the barn and other loners are 'rarr'. Warriors in other clans are 'rarr.'

Mwrr/Mwrrs Something dishonorable, that lives without code. Rogues are tossed into this category before proven otherwise, same with snakes, foxes, badgers, and dogs.

Ssar/Ssas Something powerful and dangerous. Storms, floods, cars. Overwhelming and unpredictable-- can be a high compliment to the respected warrior of other clans, implies the same sort of respect you would give to a natural disaster, but if used too much it could show cowardice.

Hello hi! This post is about my cookie run kingdom oc arcane egg, if you don’t know about them read my previous writings about them. Anyways! This post will be about exploring the personality of arcane cookie, along with some of their habits, hobbies, and general info. Hope you enjoy.

-First off, I imagine arcane egg uses both she/her pronouns and they/them as well.

-arcane egg was the last of the old ancients that were made, about 2 hours behind the rest.   As a result the rest have the tendency to treat them like the youngest even though they to were only created like a few hours before hand. Her natural naivety and trusting nature does not help… their small stature as well also REALLY doesn’t help.

-arcane egg holds the light/soul jam of defiance, they’ll always look for another way. Because their has to be, and if there isn’t one she’ll make one. She’s also big on justice and general good morals, if something isn’t fair she’ll make it fair! So in her earlier years she was quite the rebel and revolutionary. Even as time took so much from her, they’ll always hold this belief… even if they don’t believe in it either.

-their quite an introvert, their both “oh no, people!” And “ ew… people”. So when people met the small cookie they thunk them aloof and mysterious, while her family knew this to be… incorrect 

-she can be so SO chatty to the people she’s comfortable with, like it’s surprising how much she can talk. Doesn’t help she goes on tangents either. As a result when explaining or asking someone for something they can be quite blunt and to the point.

-also when they talk they tend to slurr words together or say them incorrectly, their greatly embarrassed by it.

-as the name suggests they LOVE magic, no matter the type or flavor she wants to learn and do. Be it coffee magic to the spiciest she’ll get her small cookie hand on it! As a result this helped start shadow milk cookies and their friendship. Comparable to pure vanilla’s and white lily cookie’s friendship during academy days.

-compared to the more chatty shadow milk cookie, she was happy to listen and learn from him. And happily help him when they could. They spent many a long night together dreaming up ways how magic could help people, be it to the wondrous or mundane magic is what brought them together… present day she can’t look at any illusion magic with out thinking of him though.

-some traits that describe arcane egg are kind, silly, rebellious, quite, creative, clumsy, awkward, naive, and a little bit dense and I observant. She’s still quite emotionally and intellectually intelligent though.

-fun fact! The reason the world so easily forgot arcane egg cookie was for mainly two factors, she looked a lot like her other ancient comrades. No real unique color or bright identity to separate themselves from the rest. And secondly she in fact used this forgettable nature of hers to infiltrate places and collect information, so even they saw no point in trying to stand out. In fact it was useful.

-hmm… it’s almost funny. The arcane egg cookie of the past is so much different compared to the arcane cookie of the present… it’s tragic isn’t it? But you can rest assured theirs hope for them yet.

Also, as for your question, I do believe that Golden Butter Cookie would consider Arcane Egg a good friend if they existed in the same universe, however, like with mystic flour, She would envy Arcane Egg. Mainly due to the fact that they hold the light of defiance, perhaps if Golden Butter had such a strong will to defy like Arcane Egg did... Maybe she wouldn't have fallen so deep into her burnout

But nonetheless, they would still be good friends. Though I doubt that Golden Butter would tell them the location of the Toy-Box( they hardly do tell anyone, cause I'm pretty sure that I made Shadow Milk find out on accident.) though.

Also, small little thing but if Arcane Egg believes that there's hope for themself then that creates a fun little opposite between them. Golden Butter doubts that there's hope waiting for her at the end of the road, only moving forwards at others suggestion. Maybe one day she'll start moving on her own... maybe.

The premise of the AU is that everyone is disabled in some way.

Pomni has had ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) for as long as she can remember. Ever since she's been in the digital circus, she's always tried to hide it. However, this proves difficult, as she sometimes has outbursts. It's almost impossible for her to sit still or keep quiet. One day, everyone finds out about her disability. No matter how much Pomni denies it, they all know better. What will happen? Will they treat her like an outcast? Will they baby her? Will they bully her? That's for me to know and you to find out.

Disclaimer: I mean absolutely no offense by using the word "broken" to describe a disabled AU! My brother has ADHD and autism and my dad also has ADHD, so I'd never want to intentionally offend anyone! I only used the word "broken" due to the angst ability of it! However, if you think it's too offensive, please let me know! I kind of hate the title, but it's all I could think of, so if you have a better title, please let me know!

Warnings

1. Swearing, although it will be censored. (Damn and hell won't though since they're not major swears) Does this even count as a warning? I don't know.

2. MAJOR cringe. This DOES count as a warning. Just trust me, okay?

4. The disabilities are NOT canon. Duh. (Well, Kinger might canonically have PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), but it's not confirmed, so I can't say for sure)

I'm having mild A Few Days (Or So) Later Anxiety™ and wanted to add a disclaimer to my comment on the post where you talked about MTMtE/LL being regarded as fanfiction about how I defo think its done to de-legitimize official works (purposefully or not), but that I defo don't think fanfiction isn't a legitimate form of art/writing also? I dunno, I probably have nothing to worry about, but anxiety is Like That sometimes haha. (that said though, your thoughts that you mentioned would be interesting to see I think!)

Haha, well, I'm the one who made the post, so nothing to worry about there, I promise! I don't think you came across as dismissive of fic at all. As you say, talking about how that's why people use that 'accusation' doesn't necessarily mean you agree with the underlying logic.

As for my thoughts…

One thing that frustrates me whenever I try and discuss this is actually something you hit on the head here I think inadvertently- people who write fanfiction (like myself!) often tend to respond with a kneejerk reaction whenever someone says [xyz] isn't fanfic, because we assume, often incorrectly, they must mean 'it's Too Good to be fanfiction'. But that's not the case! Fanfic is as unique as any form of creative work, and saying something like MTMTE isn't fanfic is no more an insult to fanfic than, say, pointing out the Mona Lisa isn't a watercolour painting is an insult to watercolour artists. It's just an observation around what a work is or is not.

I get it- fanfic is often very specifically looked down on just for being fanfic, and we tend to get defensive over things we care about. I've been writing fanfic since I was eight, so over two decades now; it's a huge part of my life and one I don't like people to be unfairly dismissive of. But one of the things which I love about fanfic is that it does certain specific things that other mediums don't or often even can't, and I think describing every bit of remotely transformative work as 'fanfic' really robs us of that nuance.

MTMTE is not 'officially published fanfic' because it is subject to certain editorial requests and constraints that fanfic just… isn't. And this fact massively impacts how it unfolds as a work. The fact CDRW only gradually reveal themselves as a romantic couple is a very blatant example of this. Roberts had to ask IDW's permission to have gay characters. Who in turn had to ask Hasbro's permission. The result is a very gradual amping up of the subtext, and that means the serialized storytelling functions differently than if MTMTE was just his fanwork or whatever. The annotated scripts and notebooks he's given us make all of this very clear- there are numerous points where he's like, 'and then Barber asked me to cut this', etc. In turn, MTMTE received editorial scrutiny and support no fic is likely to, even with the most dedicated beta reader, and is in conversation with other writers' ideas in ways that it can use to its advantage. It is a different comic than a fancomic might be in ways that relate to it being published, and what the process of publishing a comic looks like.

But even beyond that, there are things like what I brought up in that post about 'original characters', for example. In fanfic, the understanding is that OCs are an indulgence in most cases on the part of the author. This isn't always true- but often it is! And that's a good thing, because fanfic is something people should enjoy and be self-indulgent with. But like. In a work like MTMTE, characters like Rung are not introduced purely because the author wants to make a mark on a pre-existing canon or insert themself into the story. They are usually introduced because they are needed narratively speaking. Rung is required for the narrative that Roberts has planned from the very beginning, and he cannot be a pre-existing character within that framework without it fundamentally changing the way the story reads. Similar to, say, characters like Tarn. So when people talk about these characters like they're OCs he somehow snuck into Real Transformers Canon TM, we lose a lot of interesting discussion about what those characters do as pieces of the story, because the assumption becomes 'they are there because Roberts wanted to make his OCs canon'.

And finally, we have this odd feeling that somehow MTMTE isn't 'real' Transformers canon because even its fans treat it like fanfiction turned official and see just the 'fanfic' part of that idea, not the 'official' bit. So suddenly, the only way any of it can be implicitly legitimized is by having stuff show up elsewhere. Like hey, Tarn showing up in Cyberverse was GREAT, but Tarn was a 'real Transformers character' before that. Y'know? Again, fanfic NOT being 'real canon' is literally a part of what makes it great- fanfic, far from being lessened by its non-canonicity, is enriched by the way that changes how it reads to its audience contextually and what it can do. But trying to read MTMTE through that lens makes no sense, and tbh, it feels very much like people are being almost… defensive about liking it in a way I find unnecessary and self-defeating.

And it is reeeeeal telling to me that exRiD does not get this treatment. Aileron is not 'Barber's OC', people do not hedge their bets on its appeal to the broader TF fanbase. You know? Some combination of knowing Roberts used to write fanfic and its content being seen as somehow 'fanfic like' (read: character driven and heavily interested in romance and interpersonal relationships) drives us more towards that view for MTMTE as a fandom.

And just to finish off: I've read a lot more of Roberts' fic than a lot of people in this fandom, I suspect. I can tell you right now, his fanfic and his MTMTE work honestly… don't overlap that much. There are things you can point to, but MTMTE is a completely different ballgame in almost every way. I know it's beating a dead horse and this point to say, but one would not necessarily recommend Eugenesis, for example, to a MTMTE fan. To put it lightly.

"Miss" isn't really the most adequate way to describe it. Something sliiightly more accurate would be "Feeling a yawning, burning ache in their chest like their heart is being hauled out chunk by bloody chunk". And when they miss their precious pet, they get a little bit irrational. A little bit silly-haha-homicidal. The one (and only) time their beloved tried to flee from them, entire villages burned. Generations were snuffed out.

It was a whole thing. Pretty embarrassing, to be honest - one day, in the far far future, they'll both look back on this and laugh :]

So there's uhhh an entire wish arc @shookethdev and I have been developing where Killian does actually make a wish without caring about the repercussions - Wait let me get a screenshot it describes it better.

BASICALLY making a wish that results in Dev's Tragedee forgetting that my Chime ever existed, being completely unable to percieve her or comprehend their presence.

Materially? The entire tomes of knowledge and research they've painstakingly gathered and jealously guarded over the past few centuries. They probably used to have something sentimental from their life pre-vampire, but after spurning such human notions it ended up uh. Dumped in some old chest at the back of a storage room and left to gather dust.

He values self-determination and ambition above all things. The need to follow your own path, no matter what twists and turns it takes you down. As long as every step you take is one that you chose for yourself, then that's all that matters.

But in all seriousness: They would NEVER take or even deign to listen to my advice but I would tell them that their trauma does not define them nor justify their actions and the harm they've caused. Human emotion can be a strength as well as a weakness, and continuing down the path they're on will end in his eventual demise.

50. Give me the good ol’ OC talk here. Talk about anything you want

I'm just going to rant about the kids in All the Same, because I just re-read that fic, trying to potentially get back into writing it and I just !!!!

I love them all so much. In terms of personalities/OCs I would say that these kids are probably the most fully formed. Even Kitty who is very much a side character is just so herself, and I feel like I know how she'd react in basically every situation.

The kids are Joey (Myrcella & Godry's daughter), Kitty (Jon & Sansa's daughter), JJ & Will (Robb & Roslin's sons).

I wrote about Will a bit in the last one, but he is just... so Robb's son in spite of sharing a lot of similarities with Jon. He's strong and capable and brave but also quiet and introspective and gentle. What I love about him though is that he feels (to me anyway) very real in spite of being so Good. Like he struggles with things and he reacts incorrectly at certain points and is just so so vulnerable and it just shows how brave and good he is because he forces himself to think beyond himself. His relationship with Joey is so special. He was the first boy/man she trusted and he loves her so much. It's like she appeared in his life at the exact time he needed a lesson in empathy (not because he was going down a bad path but just because he's 11 and middle school is tough) and just wove herself into his heart. I also love the stages of his relationship with Ella. At first he's just like 'who the fuck is this woman that is smaller than me and has so much energy but clearly a lot of pain' and then he sees how good she is with Joey and really trusts her because of that, and slowly gravitates towards her to give him the maternal affection he was lacking (in spite of his Auntie Sansa's very secure place in his heart). He clocks Myrcella and Joey's vulnerability in one and immediately makes it his mission to help them however he can - more than he can - and in return he gets so much love and affection and devotion and it's just so heartwarming to write.

Then there is JJ. JJ STARK YOU ABSOLUTE GOLDEN RETRIEVER OF A HUMAN. He is so sweet but also just like.... such a kid? I don't really know how to describe it other than that. Like he just doesn't understand why his older brother would spend time studying geography when he can google wherever he wants to go, and would follow his cousin Kitty off a cliff, and is an excited little puppy that wants attention all the time. He definitely has abandonment issues because of Roslin but he just deals with it so differently than Will does. He's on the fence about Joey because she's quiet and too close in age but younger which is like weirdly a thing with kids? But he's obsessed with Myrcella right away. But then the moment Joey is in trouble JJ is just like oh um actually NO you don't get to hurt her NOBODY gets to hurt her and decks an older kid in the face. He literally looked Tywin Lannister in the eye and asked him if he'd heard about him. I just can't express what a joy writing him is, because he's just so JJ.

Joey. Joey Joey Joey. There is so much to say about this little girl. Writing her growth is so emotional. She is so timid (with good reason) at the beginning but just so good. Writing her slowly understand the family she now has is so rewarding, because she truly appreciates it. She is quiet and gentle but can be very silly, especially with Myrcella, and she just loves Robb and his boys with her entire body. They (along with Jon) are like this little army designed for her protection & happiness. She has such a good, pure heart and has known far too much sadness & fear in her young life but still always finds a way to comfort others and she's just the loveliest.

Apophasis Character Ask Game

Apophasis is, among other things, describing something by what it is not. So, for instance, you might say a rainy day is not dry. Or Bahamut is not an open communicator of plans. Ardyn is not the age he seems, etc.

Sometimes it’s hard to narrow down what our characters are or like, and so it’s easier to say what they aren’t or don’t like. It can also just be a fun and different way of looking at things. If regular character building is like sculpting a character buy adding clay to a wire frame, apophasis is like sculpting a character by chipping them out of marble.

Maybe this doesn't work for you, maybe it does, but we thought it might be a fun chance to think about your character from another direction and share about your OCs.

And remember, just because these questions are negative, doesn’t mean your character is bad for having answers to them! Your characters just have limits sometimes, which is very human.

I’ll go with Jem!

Does your OC anger easily? Why or why not?

No. Jem’s emotions are fairly stunted by her brain damage and she isn’t quick to experience any emotion - be it happiness, sadness, fear, surprise, anger, etc. - in large amounts. She gets more emotional over time as she heals, but even then, it takes a bit of prodding (outside of being in a physical fight or gun battle) to truly make her mad.

Describe a point where your OC was the maddest they've ever been.

Fighting Lanius at the Dam. It wasn’t just him to ignite that rage - it was Caesar and his Legion and all their poison, it was House and his condescending nature and bullish plans, it was the NCR and their ineptitude and continual taking advantage of her services. A culmination of all the annoyances and stress and anger she’d been building up and unable to channel for so many months all came to a head in that fight where she showed her most brutal and unforgiving methods of combat.

If not that moment, then probably dealing with the Brotherhood after Veronica chose to leave and join the Followers. Seeing Veronica so despondent when the Brotherhood rogues tailed her and killed her liaison with the Followers made Jem truly angry, moreso than ever being talked down to by House or Caesar of the rest of the Legion, by anything Benny ever did, etc.

Is your OC easy to disappoint? How so?

No. Jem doesn't have a lot of expectations from others - it just comes with the territory of how her brain incorrectly processes information and emotion - and therefore doesn't get all that disappointed by much.

Is your OC physically strong?

In a sense. She's above average in terms of actual physical strength and can lay someone out with a good punch. Truthfully, her real "strength" comes from her astonishing pain threshold and how much she can both dish and take. Her pain receptors are often not functioning as they should, so she can sometimes "ignore" damage that would stop others in their tracks and keep pushing on in spite of sidelining injuries, so it allows her to appear monstrous in strength when she can keep fighting and inflicting damage long after others have fallen or run out of energy.

How does your OC act toward anger from others?

Jem’s pretty calm and collected in the face of other’s anger, again, because she doesn’t process it the same as others and is largely unaffected by it being directed towards her. If it goes on long enough, she might react with some annoyance, but she would never yell back or think to return the same amount of energy back.

Does your OC see intimidation as a good tactic to earn respect?

To a degree, yes. Mainly against people she doesn't like or views as having no real personal ties to. She has to be a bit ruthless after taking control of the Strip and having to keep things from falling apart immediately after the battle at the dam, and she's not afraid to assert her dominance against the other Families and Freesiders who try and cause trouble in the stabilization efforts. She never once had qualms using intimidation against N/C/R or Legion or Brotherhood forces when she was forced to work with any of them, but definitely tries to stand on equal footing and respect with people like the King, the Garrets, and Swank, who she likes and wants to foster a decent working relationship with to keep Vegas up and running.
