I love my husband, and I love being married to him.
I’m neurodivergent enough that jokes are really hit or miss. And I’m SENSITIVE. I don’t like teasing that has even the slightest barb, and I hate self-deprecating humour. But joking around is a really powerful way of strengthening connections with others!
So the Husband has learned my family’s weird exaggerated-lying-as-humour. It’s not quite sarcasm, because there is ZERO bite. It’s just a straightforward and obvious lie, especially when you are currently doing the opposite of whatever you’re saying. “Will you get add enough water for me to the kettle?” “No,” as I get up to do it. It’s like a 5 year old’s idea of humour.
I just came in and told him I was stealing his charger cable. He responded with, “oh no! I will die!” And his wail was SO CUTE. I am overflowing with fondness right now. He learned that from me and he’s doing it entirely for me because he wants to make me smile! His sense of humour was completely different when he met me! But I kept having panic attacks when he surprised me, so now he says cute silly things instead, and pauses to make sure I enjoy them!
He just cares so much. And respects me. And we have fun together. I love him a lot.

"The dead one! Yeah I haven't thought about her in a long time!"
A little theory I've had about Winter King's original motives based on his heartless comment about Betty and Ice King's original motives for kidnapping princesses in the first place...... clearly she gave off Bad Ex Vibes…

What if I'm the Monster?
(Based on Monster from Epic the Musical, it's incredible, give it a listen)
So! For the past few years, Danny has done nothing but defend Amity Park from Agressive Ghosts, Lunatic Ghost Hunters, and the GIW, all on his own. But no matter what he does, he is always seen as a Monster by the people of the town, just for being a Ghost.
Over the years he has lost a lot.
His Best Friend. His Mentor. His Mom.
Tucker was caught by the GIW and arrested for helping Phantom, and was never heard from again. His Parents still visit the Mayor's office for any word of him, but no one has any idea what happened.
Danny and Clockwork had a falling out after Danny refused to go down his intended path. He wanted to live his own life, one not predetermined by a Time God. Clockwork had told him that he would regret the decision, and left.
And his Mom had died after discovering his secret. She had surprisingly accepted him, but then the GIW had tried to capture him and she decided to defend him, and she got caught in the crossfire.
Every time Danny tried defending the people of Amity Park, he was vilified and hated even more. He would never be a Hero in their eyes, he was no Justice League. He had lost so much just defending them, but he couldn't bring himself to resent them, they didn't know what they were doing, it was how they were supposed to think. He still needed to defend them.
But he could no longer do so acting as the Hero.
Being a Hero stopped him from raiding the base that he assumed Tucker was being held in. Being a Hero led him to disagreeing with Clockworks advice. Being a Hero led to his Mom's death.
So he would be The Monster, instead.

Official illustration for the 🇧🇷 version of the Villainous Friends extra.
Been meaning to post this in a while! The official 🇧🇷 version of MDZS is really impopular around here for the childish illustrations and bad revision, but this one was TOO FUNNY for me not to share.

Listen JGY and JC could have bonded over having shitty fathers who could care less about them while having mother's who wanted the world for them.
But they got stuck like divorced parents without even getting married....

Jason was having a pretty OK time with the league of assassins, sure getting dunked in a lazarus pit sucked and Bruce turned out to be a scumbag who didn't care about him, but at least he isn't dead. He even liked most of the new skills he was learning there so on the whole being with the league seemed like a pretty good deal to him until Talia woke him up in the middle of the night and left him alone with two child assassins.
Or, a demon twins AU where when Talia realizes her father intends to have her boys fight to the death takes action first by deciding to take all her kids and leave the league. Talia either dies or is separated from them in the initial escape and now Jason just has a bag of supplies and a letter from Talia explaining the plan to get to Gotham. Jason has to get himself and two 7 year olds out of the Himalayas, across a desert, and over 12k miles to Gotham. Only now the league members hunting them down want them dead or worse and Jason isn't too confident that B will accept them given their kill counts.
Featuring:
Good Mom Talia. she loves her kids. Did she teach them to kill? Sure, but that's an important life skill.
Single Teen Mom Jason. He's the oldest and in charge but he also will not answer any questions about The Plan™ given he isn't committed to Talia's but also doesn't have a set alternative. Oscillates between looking forward to just dumping his new little brothers with Bruce so they'll be his problem and thinking of just moving somewhere random in the US and keeping them based entirely on how cute vs annoying they are at that time. Didn't realize how much he relied on Talia to help him with things until she is gone. He's really trying his best but he wasn't all that emotionally stable before this so hang in there.
Angry Smol Dami. He's still drinking the LoS punch and really dislikes that he is now considered a traitor. Can't stand that Jason won't answer any of his very relevant questions. Is actually very scared but will not show it. Misses his mom. Didn't even know he had siblings until his mom yoinked him out of bed that night and brought him to Jason and Danny and started all this. Physically the stronger twin. Thinks Danny is dragging them down in fights and also may blame him a bit because clearly his mother only did all this to spare him.
Danny, reincarnated with limited access to his memories and powers. Has been trying to keep his powers a secret. Talia knew about them but never told anyone but she may have hinted at it in her letter to Jason. Not the strongest physically but very good at stealth and social interactions. Didn't know he had and older brother or twin before Jason woke him up at Talia's instruction that night. Thinks Damian is mean and has faith Jason knows what he's doing even if that is very much untrue.

one thing that'll always kind of bug me is how the conflict of percabeth's relationship the year percy turned fifteen goes unaddressed after they get together on his sixteenth birthday. because dude. percy has never owned his life. he's only perceived his existence a nuisance to gabe, a burden to his mother, or a plaything for the gods. so he spends the year before his sixteenth birthday avoiding everyone that reminds him of that because all he sees in the reflection of their eyes is a dead man walking. meanwhile. all annabeth has ever known is instability. first it was her father, then thalia, then luke. and the pattern continues when she falls in love with the boy who always has one foot out the door. and despite it all. she does everything in her power to ensure his permanence in her life. but is wise enough to know the odds are stacked against her. just because luke died and rachel swore off dating doesn't mean those problems stopped existing.

Jason Unionizes the Robins
Jason: Wait, Batman fired you for getting shot? Isn’t that wrongful termination?
Dick: Wrongful…what?
Jason: If anyone in the Henches Union gets shot, their medical bills get paid and they get a leave of absence. If a boss tried to fire someone for getting hurt on the job, they could get blackballed.
Dick, processing "Henches Union": ???
Jason, assuming he doesn't know about blackballing: No one works with them. Everyone avoids their shitty-ass plans and Mr. Shitty-Ass Costume Name gets to remember how to do the heavy lifting by himself. The babysitter on our floor was also a union organizer, and trust me, bosses tend to get real cooperative after the first hernia. B actually has muscles though, so I'm just not gonna help him distract crying kids and victims until he signs a contract that we both agree to.
Bruce, in the background: Oh shit.
Jason: Hey, who are your other coworkers?
Dick: I guess…Superman?
Jason: Did you tell him you got fired for getting shot? People should know these things about the people they work with.
Dick, with a slow Grinch smile: You know, I haven’t gotten around to it. But that’s a good idea.
Bruce, in the background: Oh shit.
Jason: No Gods, No Masters!
Alfred, passing out picket signs and markers: Indeed.
Jason's picket sign: You can't be a good Bat-Man if you're not a good Bat-Boss!
Alfred's picket sign: The family that requires contractually enforced standards of decency to communicate love instead of rejection should take measures to ensure there are contracts to be enforced.
Dick's picket sign, decorated with a picture of a large and small robin: Batmans beware: when we're screwed, we multiply

U know I dislike angstkasa and in general have a distaste of angst for the sake of angst but there’s a certain genre of “examining tsukasa as a kid under a microscope to explore why he has the insane neuroses he has today” that makes me fall to the floor in anguish (complimentary). & it depends on how his relationship with his parents is written. Nothing makes me sadder than the tragedy of his parents realizing that he’s so abnormally unselfish wrt their attention (due to him turning being a big brother into a mental illness) that they’re more upset/concerned about missing big events for him or leaving him home alone or not spending enough time with him than he is -> he sees them upset about this & internalizes it as “I made them sad it’s my fault and I need to be even more independent so they don’t worry.”
I think when he was younger he didn’t really have any “they’re always focused on saki” moments (or if he did it was rare & followed by immense guilt) because he was also focused on and worried about saki, and wanted to spend as much time with her as he could. He’d rather be with his parents and saki than be with his parents while saki was alone. & I think this genre only works if current tsk is like “this had zero lasting effects on my psyche the sad times are over and I don’t need to worry about it anymore.”
Idk I just think that a shoehorned ooc angst situation that casts his parents in a very unfavorable light for no reason < the very realistic depiction of parents who are constantly stressed and worried over their daughter and trying to balance getting her the care she needs with taking care of their son and working and not showing this stress to their kids. and they’re trying so hard to do their best by both of them and tsukasa’s shift from baby who clings to them -> “I need to be responsible and mature and independent to ease my family’s worries/burden (he is like. 5)” is slow and unnoticeable and maybe a little taken for granted (unintentionally) while they have so much on their plate. & then one day kid tsukasa does or says something that makes his abnormally unselfish attitude glaringly obvious and it’s too much so they break down and cry and apologize because even if they’re doing their best they still feel like they should’ve done more for him & kid tsukasa is so confused and doesn’t get it but all he knows is that he made his parents sad. so he further internalizes the “I need to do whatever I can to not upset my parents I want to make them happy” thing.

Ngl I really don’t like Gail. I get that she’s an alcoholic but the fact that she looks at a 19 year old and sees someone she deems “beyond saving since she’s a child”, and calling it nature instead of traumatized is just fucking irresponsible.
I also get to an extent the line about how Ellie was walking right alongside Joel with their actions, but again she was 14. Gail putting a lot of things on Ellie that aren’t culpable for her and when you consider a huge theme in this series is Ellie learning to deal with her lack of agency, it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
She learned this behavior from Joel, he was her angel and devil all at once. Her saviour and her condemner. A father.
FEDRA may fostered the conditions for trauma but the journey across the country only deepens her anger. The lie told to her face time and time again, built her like this. Her capacity for violence did not lessen when she was with Joel and there is a reason for that.
She walks like him, she holds his gun like him, she talks like him, and she’s closed off like him. It’s like Tommy said, “same goddamn person”. To diminish that when the story makes a strong point about how you are molded by the people around you just confuses me.

as much as i completely understand the shauna haters, we HAVE forgotten what happened in s2. to compare her to natalie—who is by and large an angel despite what happened to her—she is not a perfect victim. she's shitty, mean, and vindictive. . .but the worst thing that can happen to ANYONE happened to her and I'm not talking about jackie. it's easy to move on from it bc it was intentionally made to "go away" (the YJs knew dwelling on it was not an option), but Shauna's baby dying and her delusion making her believe (for even just a second) that her teammates had eaten him is what drives the story.
i'm not trying to get at a trauma olympics type thing here w/ a reference to natalie, but we should recognize that shauna was only a shitty best friend/wife before her baby brutally died—she is not evil for evil's sake. she's been experiencing a severe mental health episode for half a year, and it gets worse as it approaches the anniversary of her son's death, as they find someone she compartmentalized as complicit in his death.
it was only after that that she became violent and vengeful. it's why she allowed melissa to cling on to her. it's why mari ran away and found coach. it's why she wanted to hunt coach, and then condemn him to death, and then force him to live with "what he had done." it's why she couldn't ever have a healthy relationship. it's why she tried to force natalie to see what she'd been going through, only to drive her away to seek safety instead.

I feel like we don’t talk about the fact that in canon the reason ghosts are destroyed by water is because water is constantly changing and never confined to one form, while ghosts are the opposite: unable to change, always remaining the way they were when they died. Genuinely one of ninjago’s best worldbuilding moments imo and also a fantastic way to look at ghosts. Of course you’re going to be angry if you’ve died and can’t move on from the moment of your death and the very thing that’s able to destroy you being the embodiment of change… A++ concept
