As a majority-trans system of color, we cannot understand the insistence that introjects with names that don’t match the body’s race, ethnicity or culture have the change their name.

It seems like an incredibly cruel and unnecessary demand for introjects specifically. In our system, when we first spilt all we have is our name.

Also why do they have to change their name? If you’re that against them using their name, why can’t they use a nickname or an online name? Not that they should have to do that but why do you think they have to change such a core part of themself?

And asking for systems’ personal information to figure out if they have the “right qualifications” to use a name? That’s the opposite of internet safety practice, why would you encourage that?

We understand the argument that people should not lightly choose the names of marginalized groups but introjects don’t choose their sources or names.

This is a call for all objects, plants, concepts and those with identities related to them that are so underrepresented in our community to speak about their experiences.

I think forcing an alter to choose a new name cuz their body “isn’t the right race for it” is kinda fucked up actually. Especially introjects that aren’t source separated.

Trans guys literally pick names from anime all the time and I don’t see anyone making a fuss about it. Why shouldn’t I be allowed to keep my actual name? Why should I be forced to change it?

I saw a post that was talking about how “alter race” doesn’t exist, and I totally agreed with it up until they said alters shouldn’t be allowed to have ethnic names if they’re not bodily that race.

Not wanting them to claim to be POC is an obvious thing, but forcing them to change their name because they don’t look right is kinda fucked up. Especially considering a lot of the time, alters already feel trapped in a body that’s not theirs. Why make it worse by forcing them to choose a name that isn’t theirs?

It is not an excuse to harass fictives or irls or fictionkin from anything the creator is making or has made, they cannot control their source or media. Just because our media has problematic creator make doesn't make us a bad person. An author's actions towards others doesn't define who we are. Leave us the fuck alone. Stop sending us death threats. Stop forcing names onto us. Fuck the creator. We are our own people with our own lives and we are not defined by how they wrote our kintypes to be.

hi! ill try keep this short, thanks for asking ♡ 

if im wrong please correct me - this is how i perceive NPTS/id packs

so "id pack" is short for "identity pack", and "npt" stands for "names, pronouns, titles". sometimes people can experience delusional attachments which makes them believe they are a character from a media, an object, or a non-human in real life. as an example someone experiencing a DA could believe theyre a vampire or Dean Winchester irl. ^ ^

-> this is experienced by people with an altered sense of reality like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia

some DID systems experience introjection which essentially creates an alter who is created from a media and acts like a certain character.

-> this is different as delusional attachments happen when the underlying person is under an altered belief, rather than fictives who are inspired by that character and can have a change in memories, perceived appearance, and manner of speech/personality

this is where npts/identity packs come in! NPTS are names, pronouns, and titles inspired by a character or a concept. imagine a list of "soft, elegant" names but instead "(character)-esque" names.

someone under a delusional attachment or a fictive may change/use another name, use nounself pronouns, or use titles when referring to themselves ie "the prince has arrived" , "the goddess of love is curious".
