just read the plot summary for Wrath of the Triple Goddess and. wow this is. painful this just sounds painful to read.

Why is Grover the incompetent inciting incident character? That is not his narrative role ever, really. That's like, the fanon conceptualization of his character where he's reduced down to comedic relief and nothing more. He's mostly exposition and support. Why not have the inciting incident be something about Annabeth's hubris - something that has gotten the gang into situations tons of times before in a way that doesn't put down any of the characters? Heck you could have even tied it into some Sea of Monsters stuff, like Circe having told Annabeth that she'd make a good sorceress. That'd be perfect for how this book literally just exists to be advertising for s2 of PJOTV. Or maybe call-back to Percy's introduction, where he talks about how he doesn't try to cause problems but problems tend to find him. Or use the established personalities of Hecate's animal companions from HoO, since we know they have attitudes. Just what are you even doing here????

A little concept sketch of my Gravity Falls self insert! And as you can see, she's a werewolf! 0u0

She's normally in her first form when she's out and about, and when it's getting close to the full moon she looks like her second form before going full wolf! During that time period she starts getting a powerful craving for raw meat and she gets really itchy as her fur starts coming in, then the ears and tail follow! (At first glance I'm sure most of the townsfolk would just think she was a furry 😂)

In general she's very cheery, and she exhibits a lot of dog-like behavior (getting excited when the doorbell rings, noticing and perking up when she sees squirrels, shaking her whole body when she gets wet) and she has a somewhat irrational fear of rabies so she's not a very good hunter and actually tends to AVOID wild animals in the forest and stray dogs/cats. When she moves to Gravity Falls she opens a curios and oddities shop with her partner in crime, which a certain conman sees as competition, leading him and the mystery twins to go check it out 👀❓️

something that makes me sad is when people tell me the healthy communication in my writing is "unrealistic."

like guys this is how me and my partner talk with eachother... I'm writing from personal experience...

#like it's sad both on the front of 'dehumanizing my real life'#but also on the front of 'you deserve to have healthy communication in your life'#like if you think this is unrealistic it means more than likely you havent experienced someone being patient and understanding with you #and that makes me very very sad #I'm sorry #also it's just rude to tell me my writing is unrealistic LOL like hey #real people talk all kinds of ways. shut up #I've been told it's also in part cause they always understand their own feelings when theyre talking #but I'm like...#theyre like mid 30-early 40 and theyre immortal and theyre going through a lot of shit #I feel like theyve thought about it a lot #also the comic takes place over the course of a year so far #we're seeing the big moments and the fun mysteries #so #its about grown men who love eachother #sorry that they think about what they want to say before they say it #also as if adam isnt constantly wrong and steve isnt constantly pushing shit down #he's only JUST RECENTLY starting to share his emotions as they come up #instead of pretending theyre not there and letting things boil over #I think people just THINK theyre communicating way too clearly because their partner #who loves them #is listening and responding with kindness #like..#idk I have a lot of thoughts about this #would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE for this to spark a discussion #and especially for it to cause people to reread a little more critically #and perhaps even introspect on their own ideas of communication standards #I've been with my partner for 10 years. this is how we talk to eachother

Just curious what the average level of personal investment in these sorts of things is. Like, how much do people usually get into silly stuff like this their friends ask of them? etc. etc. Which I know, only surveying a small sample on a very specific website means I'm not getting an exact average idea lol, but.. curious nonetheless .. Maybe reblog for bigger sample size but also this is not very serious at all/not worth a call to action gbhjbhjb

#which I know this could be context dependent like.. maybe you'd normally dress up but on a week that #you feel sick you wouldn't or etc. etc. - but I mean.. GENERALLY. in the most general average scenario #where you have the average amount of health and free time that you always do. etc. just based on your personality #and level of investment in these things - what on AVERAGE are you most inclined to do #also of course assume they communicate with you ahead of time and are not like planning a part last minute #like 'throw together costume in 5 hours and show up tonight randomly' or etc. I would hope that if we're going with the #AVERAGE of things - most people's friends have better communication skills than springing entire parties #on people last minute lol #assume you have like.. a few days-a week or so to prepare. however ealrly people usually start talking about #birthdays. In my experience it's usually one or two weeks ahead of time. Like 'oh next weekend' or 'oh two weeks from now' etc.#ANYWAY.. feeling a little Sick again of course but still trying to get some photos or something posted #AGAIN i promise I am not going to exlcusively post polls and ntohing else forever hgkjgnekj #I just really really love the ability to post polls and have always my whole life been obsessed with surveying people #I used to think I wanted to do that as a career somehow like.. be one of the people that does psychological interviews #or produce interview asessments for a company or etc. etc. I am always the one friend in the group thats giving out custom made #surveys or asking for other simialr stuff (did you ever take an mbti quiz? how about enneagra #m?? oh yeah I know they're not really scientifically valid or antyhing but like... lately ive been thinking about the contrast going on in Early Lime where hes like "tbh im pretty sure i could have any girl i wanted including mochi i mean i guess if she wanted we could give it a shot one day but i dont really care lol" and then very easily becoming completely unhinged for her the second he gets a tinge of romantic affection

GOD I love my career path BUT ok like. I spent today at an academic conference on epistemic injustice and I LOVE ACADEMIC CRITICISM. I LOVE ACADEMIC THEORY. The problem is I don't want to BE an academic, it looks like it sucks and also I like to have work with clear material impact. but today has scratched an itch I rarely TRULY get to hit and I want ittttttt. I love PHILOSOPHY I love SEMIOTICS I love EPISTEMOLOGY I love THE PRODUCTION AND COMMUNICATION OF IDEAS it is 90% of what I am thinking about at any given time and nobody outside academia is nearly as interested in it as I am, or if they are then we're using mutually incomprehensible frameworks/language.

academia is like welding, wrestling or bricklaying. I want the opportunity to learn the skills and do it as a hobby but I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT want a career in it and the only ways to get at these things seem to be as vocational paths 😭

how did abeke take care of her braids when the team was on a mission is what i want to know

As we approach Pride Month, I just want to take a moment and let everyone know that you are entitled to your beliefs and you are allowed to follow whatever religion you want.

HOWEVER being Christian or anything else does not give you the right to verbal or physically attack other people. You do not get to use your god(s) as an excuse to be an a-hole to others. If you're worried about their souls, do it quietly because honestly, no one cares about your opinion on how others should live.

I am an atheist. I tried going to church and reading the bible but it just wasn't for me. I don't believe in higher deities, but I don't go pick fights with people who do and tell them they're wrong. If that's really what your god wants you to do, then I wouldn't want to follow him anyways because I believe that we should be kind and open to others. If you don't like the way someone painted their house you're not gonna go bully them or endanger their life because of it.

Gay and trans people aren't hurting anyone just by existing. We've always been here and we're never leaving. Don't spend so much of your time hating on us. You have limited time on Earth and you want to waste it being bitter and hateful? If heaven and hell are real, then people will go where they belong. Based on what I do know, I don't think you'll get into heaven when you've spent your time attacking people you've probably have never and will never meet. People who are just opening their hearts out to love and you're attacking them for being honest about who they are.

You have no idea how many amazing people you're missing out on because of your hatred. One of my best friends has openly expressed how she was raised not to approve of it but she didn't let that stop her from being my friend and she's such an amazing woman. Ideally, there wouldn't be an "I don't approve" mindset, but at this point in time, it's fine if you don't agree, but keep that to yourself and treat others with respect and kindness because nothing is going to change just because you don't like something that has NO effect on you. If you're annoyed that we get a whole month, then you're part of the problem and the reason we get a whole month.

Quit trying to make others feel bad for something that makes them happy. Quit trying to erase an entire group of people that have been on this planet since the beginning of time. Unless they are actually hurting you, what they do is none of your business and you have no say over it. Hate less, love more.
