head in my hands bc of this, just thought abt bakugo growing out his hair a little bit right after baby's birth...takes him months to go and get a real haircut cuz he doesn't wanna burden you more than he already has and by the time he's okay with the thought (but only for "AN HOUR MAX," is what he says), he has a mullet thing going on and all this scruff on his chin🥺🥺🥺

so he gets home with his regular ol' haircut, maybe a little shorter just to account for ... not wanting to go again so soon, and baby's HOLLERING bloody murder as soon as they see him and refusing to be taken out of your arms, doing that thing where they're flipping their face back and forth to dodge a kiss...

it's so tragic bc not even a little cheek nuzzling helps to calm them bc bakugo's CLEAN SHAVEN and smells like aftershave instead of like dad when he tries!!!!!!

and after, you watch him kinda sulk into the bathroom, thinking like aw yeah thats a bummer but also pretty funny, too (esp bc the haircut does look good🫣🤓), AND HE DOESN'T COME OUT FOR LIKE an hour???

....until you finally have to ask him if he's okay in there and you're opening the door to him sitting on the toilet seat, arms crossed and red cheeks a little streaky with tears...

LJFKASDJFADSJK it's the cutest, most sad sight you ever did see!! ofc Bakugo tries to deny it, but the way he tears up again (after you're done assuring him he did nothing wrong) when his baby finally realizes it's him and smiles (and then how he refuses to give them up again until bedtime) has his ass. EXPOSED.

Thinking about Very Scary Miles Edgeworth who is a Vampire and all the kids at school (and later everyone in court) is TERRIFIED of him because ‘he’ll suck your blood!’

And then after the class Trial Phoenix and Larry go to eat lunch with him. Phoenix is trying very hard to be brave as Miles opens up his lunch box. Larry is shaking behind him. Is he going to pull out a blood bag??? A blood juice box? A LIVE ANIMAL TO SUCK DRY????

He pulls out a banana. Just goes to town on it. Cheeks puffed out because he just shoved the whole thing in at once. Chewing very seriously but with eyes closed because he loves it so much.

Turns out he’s a part of the fruit bat line of vampires. He had no idea his classmates were scared of him.  Makes soft little chuffing sounds when he has a Really good piece of fruit.

Phoenix is ten and isn’t totally sure but he thinks he’s in love. He starts asking his mom to pack him fruit to share with Miles.

One thing I love, love, LOVE about the Netflix ATLA is that you *really* get a sense, very early on, for each of the past 3 incarnations of the avatar and how their struggles and their age of the world shaped them into who they are. (Spoilers for the animated show, if you care - and S1 and potentially future seasons of the live action)

Kuruk's age was plagued with threats from the spirit world (a history that rhymes with what we see when the cycle rolls around to Water again with Korra), that is where his focus was, and that is what cost him his closest connection to the living world. It left him crippled and bitter and unable to see the strength in Aangs connections with others. This is really something that was only hinted at in the anime, and I love seeing it fleshed out.

The next avatar, Kiyoshi, was born into an age of strife - warring kingdoms and tyrants and terror. She HAD to become a mighty and fearsome warrior, becuase she had to clean up the mess that Avatar Kuruk left in the living world. So of course, this is the lens through which she sees the troubles of Aang's age. This is the advice she gives him: only the strongest can bring balance and peace.

Then we have Roku, born into a golden age of peace and diplomacy, the remnants of Kiyoshi's iron fist holding the nations in their places. He was allowed a full childhood, friends, and you can see it in his manner, his sense of humor. You can also see the terrible pain of the wound that his best friend's final betrayal left in his spirit, when he counsels Aang that he cannot always trust his friends.

I just. I love that we are seeing all of this, and so soon! The stories of the previous avatars, and the way each of their lives impacts not just the rest of the avatar cycle, but the life cycle of their entire world, is so fascinating to me. I really, really hope they continue to deepen Aang's connection with his past lives if the series continues!

you know, it's kind of funny, i've had an overwhelming response of people who've said they've just assumed i was male by the vibes i radiate and i'm not entirely sure what it means. i'm know you all mean it very reaffirmingly but it leaves me with a lot of questions. like, questions that i want to do further research into.

is there a masculine dialect? like how there are regional dialects? is that a thing? i kind of want to study this now. can you tell someone's gender by the way they talk like you can tell where they're from? that is so cool if it's true. how do you type like a man. what should i look for? i don't know if i've ever assumed someone's gender by the way they type. i just look at their bio and it usually says. and i kind of don't think about it when i type. i type like me. but – i think maybe i pick up the way that i talk from the media i consume (comic books) which is kind of overpoweringly male. overpoweringly populated by male characters, and written by men, y'know.

i think the way i type here on @sciderman is probably softer and more femme than the way i write on the ask-blog. on the blog when i'm answering things as Mod i kind of intentionally mimic the tone-of-voice that marvel editors use. that's an intentional choice. so - when you read what i write here it's closer to my real voice, but over on ask-spiderpool i'm putting on an act. i try to sound like a marvel editor. i call you all True Believers! it's all a persona. i think one of the things that's my strength in writing is falling into voices - i think i could be an excellent ghostwriter, if i needed to be. so very crafty at mimicry.

as a kid i always, always always would mimic the characters i liked from the movies we watched whenever i came out of the cinema. i remember doing that all the time. and it was always boys. (except frenchie from grease. she was my one female gender icon. god everyone hated me for that one. i loved doing the voice. wanted to be her so bad. wanted the pink hair. everything.)

you know,, even now The Very First thing anyone asks me when they meet me is where my accent is from, because nobody believes i'm native to london. it happened today (twice). the way i talk is a little weird. my response,, off the bat,, it's because i watched too many cartoons growing up. so,, i guess maybe i idolised too many masculine role models, and probably didn't have enough female role models. i liked the boy movies better than the girl ones. i spent more time with my dad than i did with my mom. my mom wasn't a good role model. dad says that's probably why i didn't want to be a woman. i didn't have a good role model. (sorry mom). (he's right). all kinds of variables here. i kind of want to do research into it. also i should talk to a therapist.

reminder to everyone that trauma IS a valid reason to use aspec labels. "i don't know if i'm aspec or just traumatized—" protip!!! you can be both!!!! the thing about labels is that they're not immutable states of being that you're born as. they're literally just words that we use to describe our lived experiences, and if asexual or aromantic or any related label feel relevant to the way that you experience attraction, whether it's a result of trauma or not, they're there for you to use. having trauma as a cause does not invalidate the fact that someone is experiencing lesser or no attraction. that's still the aspec experience babey. use the label if you want it's there for you <3

Since I’ve been on about Thistle and Marcille’s similarities lately HERE’S THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE: They have the same taste in video games (simulation games) but opposite styles of play. Marcille makes sure everything is nice and balanced and ✨Aesthetic✨ while casually committing atrocities against NPCs whenever she’s curious about what would happen or to get a better result or whatever. Thistle on the other hand plays like a utilitarian maniac with hyperoptimized setups that look like shit BUT absolutely refuses to even make the NPCs sad bc he feels bad and wants them to be happy. Do you see my vision.
