Toph growing up to not only become a cop but also create policing still sits weird with me but if they ever make a buddy cop movie to explain it I could be down for that.

I definitely think Chris is a stronger actor than Channing is. I think Channing is better at the silly dumb humor roles (21 Jump street) but I think Chris can do serious, lighthearted, dramatic, and villain roles better. He just needs to be in movies with better and stronger scripts.
Even his best roles lately I feel don’t go in enough. I think if TGM had been Rated R they could have let Lloyd go truly psycho without just alluding to moments of crazy. And pain hustlers. Pete Brenner was a great role IMO and I personally see why he took the role. He and Emily had good chemistry and he rocked the role quite well. Again, not quite enough. Just snippets of brilliance especially when he’s in the parking garage with Emily. I was so surprised at the sudden emotional performance and also pleasantly surprised at the rapping. But again - both these moments were like fleeting, 30 seconds or 1 minute. He needs to be able to fully lose himself into a role and I don’t think any of these recent scripts have allowed him to do that. I hope he eventually gains enough confidence and self respect to seek out roles where he’s allowed to go in.
Scarlett can make it work with whoever she stars with but I think if the film is already decent and the script is good, this rotten tomatoes score could have been even higher if it was Scarlett and Chris together.
I feel with PH he/his team really wanted him to have three projects that year for some reason. He had to leave then Project Artemis, and he joined on with Pain Hustlers quickly.
I think PH’s script and even Emily were lackluster. Chris did an amazing job, but he can only do so much. And he had a small role. But I do agree, I want to see him become completely vulnerable and immerse himself into a character. We’ve seen glimpses of it.

Script Writing part 2:
Cast:
Valerie- 21 year old college student
Amelia- 21-year-old college student Mango- 2 year old cat, owner is Valerie
Dahlia- 5 year old dog, owner is Amelia
Setting and time: Val and Amelia’s apartment, a random Tuesday afternoon after they have both returned from class.
(Valerie and Amelia run into each other on the street while both walking home from class. They both seem mentally exhausted while unlocking the apartment door and enter the kitchen)
Valerie: “ Ugh, I have so much homework I need to do I don’t have time to cook tonight, do you want to order in from the pizza place?”
Amelia: “Only if you get me an extra thick-crust pizza”
Valerie: “Sounds good”
(Dahlia runs up very enthusiastically jumping up on Valerie with a toy in her mouth ready to play)
Valerie: (while petting Dahlia and playing tug of war with the dog) “Awwweee, who is such a good girl? I lovees you Dahlia, you want to play? Awe who’s such a cute puppy? You are!”
Amelia: “Uhhhhh Val did you just see what I saw?”
Valerie: “No. What are you talking about?”
Amelia: “A flea just jumped off her HEAD! VAL SHE HAS FLEAS!”
Valerie: “Holy shit, let me go find Mango and lock her in my room, we have to wash all of the linens in the house, vacuum the carpet and use the flea carpet spray we have just in case.”
Amelia: “I know but I need help bathing Dahlia first to get the fleas off.”
Valerie: “Okay I have an idea, why don’t we lock her in the bathroom so she doesn't get fleas everywhere, I can start on vacuuming and treating your carpet while you change your sheets and throw them in the wash, that way when we’re done washing Dahls we have somewhere to put her that is flea free. After that we can do the same thing for my room for Mango, sounds like a good idea?”
Amelia: (Amelia starts changing her sheets while Valerie starts vacuuming) “I just can’t believe she got fleas again! I feel like we go through this every month.”
Valerie: “Well, if you actually treated Dahls for fleas maybe she would stop getting them and spreading it to Mango, even though Mango is medicated it won’t do anything if the outdoor pet is untreated.”
Amelia: “I don’t need to hear this again”
Valerie: “Then why don't you treat her? We spend so much money on flea treatment after the fact when if you just medicated her for it we wouldn’t need to spend the money at all.”
(Valerie and Amelia finish cleaning Amelia’s bedroom then go into the bathroom and start bathing the dog and combing for fleas.)
Amelia: “I swear every time we do this Dahlia seems to attract the Philadelphia super flea.”
Valerie: “Yea I’ve had to comb off at least 15 fleas so far and we haven’t even done her stomach yet.”
(A distant crash is heard in the distance)
Valerie: “MANGO WHAT DID YOU DO?!?!?!?!?!?”
Amelia: “Val it was probably nothing.”
Valerie: “Did you hear how loud that crash was? It couldn’t have been nothing.”
Amelia: “Okay well I can handle drying Dahl why don’t you go see what it was.”
(Valerie exits the bathroom and walks into her room)
(Mango is sitting on Valerie’s desk. She is using her paws to slowly push at the fishtank on her desk off the ledge.”
Valerie: “MANGO DON’T KNOCK THAT OFF!!!!”
(Mango runs under the bed away from the scene of the attempted crime because she was caught)
Valerie: “Well Mango, lucky for you it’s bath time to get rid of all of those nasty little friends you love crawling all over your fur!”
(Valerie drags Mango out from under the bed holds her and starts walking towards the bathroom door. Mango is hissing, meowing, and attempting to escape her mother’s arms because she knows what fate awaits her. As Valerie opens the door, Mango tries in a last-ditch effort to meow and escape her mother’s arms as her mother closes the bathroom door behind them.)

"Woke up from my dreams and I don't see you next to me I held you next to me Lately the absence vexin' me Testin' the waters with you My feelings' ain't been corrected I'm lost Wanderin' down your street, I'm like a dog without a leash Fuck" -"Coughing Up Smoke" by 99 Neighbors
"Hey, Tracy. I wanted to get a hold of you and let you know that I'm stepping away for a bit. I have all your files to send to whoever you want to speak to in my absence. I recommend Dr. Dooley from my office, though. Let me know what you plan to do. I apologize for the inconvenience." Simone said into her phone.
"If you want to replay this message, press 1 or hang up if you are finished." The electronic voice on the other end said. It was only the second voicemail box Simone's gotten since deciding to make these calls this morning, but she did well in sticking to the script with even the patients she spoke to directly.
It hurt to speak to them. They all had questions Simone couldn't answer, and some even cried. She wished she could explain everything, tell them she had to cut her association with them for their own good, but there was nothing she could say to make it right. She knew it was for the best until they found and put Walton back behind bars.
As for her own safety, she was convinced it was only a matter of time before Walton made himself known to her. The night before, when she got back from Marc and Steven's place, she practically ran from her car into the door of the building. She was afraid but knew she could handle herself if she was prepared.
Meanwhile, Marc and Steven rushed to get to Simone's to speak to her. They were surprised she wasn't at her office, being a work day, and threw fifteen minutes in the wrong direction because of it.
After Moni stormed out the night before, Steven went off on Marc. He spent the whole night thinking about it and realized what he needed to do, making him want to kickstart a recovery period for their relationship. There was so much he wanted to do with her in his life. They planned to go into the same retirement home and play bingo, and Marc would be damned if they didn't hold onto that idea.
Simone was writing a note on lined paper when they showed up. There was no knock, warning, or indication that it was them, and she nearly jumped out of her skin and screamed at them for doing that, especially when she was on high alert. She also silently scolded herself for not locking the door.
We're all idiots here, apparently.
Marc didn't even think about it, stomping until he was just a foot away from her like a man on a mission. "I fucked up. I'm a fuck up. I know this, and I'm sorry." He started. Simone was baffled by what she heard and how it wasn't in an English accent this time. She sat at the dining table with the paper under her hand as he continued to ramble. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I'm sorry I'm messed up. I'm sorry I hurt you..."
"Marc..." Simone spoke up and stood, trying to get him to relax. Marc was having an apparent breakdown right before her, and as soon as he said that first apology, they wouldn't stop coming. Tears built up in his eyes as he ignored her.
"I'm not sure if I like the person I am without you with me, and I know that's fucked up to say, and I'm sorry that we've been so shitty to each other..."
"Marc?" She repeated, this time a bit louder and in the form of a question. He just kept pacing.
"I'm scared to lose you completely, Moni. I know you hate that I keep calling you that, and I'm sorry, and I know it's shitty of me to just show up like this and throw all of this at you, but I lo-"
"Marc!" She finally shouted over him, throwing her hands onto his shoulders to get him to stop. He stood still and stared at her with wide, watery brown eyes, unsure what else he could say besides what he repeated.
He found himself with only apologies and proclamations of love to say but started weeping like Simone hadn't seen since they were kids. He began to buckle down on his knees and lower to the floor, and she followed, drawing him into her chest as her own tears crept through her ducts.
It broke her heart. She finally got the apology she wanted and more, but she didn't expect this. In Marc's shudders and hitches, she heard him continue to groan apologies that would sound like nonsense if he wasn't so close.
"Honey, please. It's okay." She repeated, rubbing circles into his back with one hand and stroking his head with the other.
Once the floodgates opened, they were damn hard to stop. Marc typically checked out before he could cry, but he knew he needed to get this out there with Moni. He slowly settled down to the sound of her voice and the thumping of her heart against his ear.
Simone wasn't sure if this was the right time to bring up what was happening but couldn't chance not saying something if she didn't get the opportunity. "I think I'm in trouble." She said. Marc slowly pulled away from her embrace and looked at her, not sure what kind of trouble yet but not liking the sound of it. Once she explained everything with Walton and the disappearing patients, she helped him to his feet.
"If anything happens to me, you do everything this note says. To the letter." She said, grabbing the note she wrote and handing it to him.
Marc was caught off guard, now knowing the situation but wondering why she assumed anything would happen to her. "Nothing's gonna happen to you, Moni. I don't need this." He said with a still, shakey voice, refusing to even look at the words it contained. She could tell him whatever she wrote down herself.
"I don't care what you think. This is real shit, and if something happens to me, Marc, Steven, you need to do this. I need to hear you say you will." Simone snapped. Her eyes looked grim like she had a bad feeling. Marc rejected accepting that possibility but knew she needed to hear it.
"I understand," Marc confirmed.
"Yeah, love. We'll do it." Steven also confirmed. "But we aren't leaving your side."
The whole day was an internal struggle for Simone. She went from going about her everyday life without Marc and Steven around all the time to them following her throughout each square inch of her apartment like Walton could be holed up in one of her cupboards, ready to grab her at any moment.
She feared bringing up the unleashed apology from earlier, knowing that it might cause trouble if she did. She also knew Marc wouldn't speak of it again unless she did first. Marc hadn't bargained for having an entire episode in the middle of her galley and was slightly embarrassed having that it happened.
Now Simone's locked away with them, driving herself nuts in the silence between them as they both thought of the elephant in the room. She sat on the couch, they sat in Joyce's chair, and "Narcos" played on the TV as if they were paying any attention to it. She felt both comforted by their presence and uncomfortable all at once.
"I'm getting to air." She announced, pulling herself to her feet. By that, she meant stepping out for a few cigarette drags. Marc paused the show as she put on her slip-on shoes. She wanted to protest his tagging along, wanted to tell him there was still plenty of daylight and she would only be right outside, but she knew what he would say.
You think any of that'll stop Walton?
No, probably not. She answered in her head.
They took the lift down and continued to stand silently, with the only sound being the machine whirling of the old rickety elevator. Marc had his thumbs tucked into his pockets, and Simone was rocking back and forth on her heels. He thought this would all go down differently and couldn't stop the shame of the apology bomb from creeping in.
The elevator dinged to a stop, and the metal doors slid open to the hallway, where Simone started walking briskly across the treated concrete floor, and he followed at arm's length. She pushed open the heavy breezeway door and stopped far enough away from it to not feel bad for lighting the smoke she had brought out with her.
It was her first one of the day, which made her feel good even if she felt Marc's eyes burning a hole in the side of her head. The fresh air did no good. Seemingly everywhere they went, the atmosphere felt heavy in her nostrils. She went in for a long, smokey inhale that comforted her momentarily before she released it.
"I only have one left after this one. It'll be my last, I swear." She said, out of the blue and with a slight chuckle. Being outside made her feel like she could speak freely, though she felt dopey for that being her first comment.
"How many times have you said that since picking it back up again?" Marc asked, crossing his arms and leaning against the stone wall behind them. Simone knew he had a point but didn't answer until she stepped forward and sat on the curb of the sidewalk they stood on. She immediately regretted this as the bumpy surface dug into the bit of buttock that her shorts left exposed, still sore from the night before.
"Too many." She replied with a slight sing-song tone. Now she felt his eyes burning holes in the back of her black shirt. This and the morning's apology and catch-up on her situation were the most they'd said to each other that didn't result in a fight or rough sex. Simone didn't think she had it in her to do either of those things today.
Marc observed from behind as trails of smoke lingered away from her and into the gray-blue sky. All he wanted was to hold her, talk to her, and for her to talk back. He pictured sitting on the curb with her like when they waited for the school bus as kids and absentmindedly found himself on the pavement beside her. Simone stiffened at this, feeling like her body might unconsciously float closer to him like a magnet.
"If I ask you something, will you answer honestly?" Marc finally spoke up. Moni still refused to look directly at him but nodded the go-ahead. "Do you want me here right now?" He asked with slight hesitation.
Yes! Simone thought to herself. Even if it's awkward, I want you to stay.
"I feel like no matter what my answer is, it won't affect your being here." She answered outwardly. A slight grin formed over his lips,
"It wouldn't, but I know you probably didn't plan on seeing us today. Not after-"
"Did you read the note?" Simone promptly cut him off, not allowing him to bring up the night before any further. She said her piece about the subject and accepted his apology. What they needed was to discuss what lay ahead.
"No, and I'm not gonna read it because nothing will happen to you." He told her, fully believing it. Simone wasn't so sure.
"Just a bad feeling, is all." She spoke softer now, staring blankly at the cigarette as it burned to the butt. She didn't want it anymore but found ease in holding it.
I miss you. She thought to herself. She couldn't bring the words to fall from her tongue. I miss you. I'm tired of being mad at you.
Simone let the butt fall from her fingers and climbed to her feet, brushing pebbles and dust from her bare legs and buttocks before turning to find Marc also standing. They nearly bumped chests as she hadn't expected him to be there so quickly. Her eyes locked onto his briefly, and though it was too fleeting to call, it was long enough to cause the thought of kissing him to float through her mind.
The fact that she felt like she couldn't or shouldn't kiss him caused the corners of her mouth to turn down as she brushed past him and through the metal doors again. An image clicked in her mind that told her there was nothing against him kissing her. It would be up to him.
Marc pursued behind her as they got back into the elevator as quietly as before, brain scattered by thoughts of the pure electricity he felt when they looked at each other a beat before. There was an understanding there. There was no bitterness, lust, or anything that would lead them down the same path as usual, and for the first time since his bravery that morning, he wanted to overstep.
The lift creaked and bellowed around them, and before Simone could spare a second thought, Marc had her turned around to him, and his lips folded into hers perfectly. It was a slow, soothing kiss where their noses brushed together. The kind of kiss you can feel them smile into. The type of kiss that said-
I miss you. I love you. I'm sorry.
It filled Simone with indescribable warmth and oxygen she felt she wasn't getting before. His hands caressed her back and pulled her closer as her arms wrapped around his neck. She was content, and the warmth grew as she sensed Marc relax his body into hers.
"I'm not going anywhere. No more running away." Marc whispered through her lips. The promise vibrated on her tongue, and she knew he was being serious. It was everything she needed to hear from him, and it tasted like fresh honey.
The moment was interrupted by the ding of the elevator stopping, and they let the tender affection linger between them as they slowly drew themselves away, admiring the glimmer that sat in their eyes. They stepped out of the metal box hand-in-hand and returned to Simone's apartment.
Not much else was said for the rest of the night before they curled up into bed together. They drifted off in each other's arms but didn't stay that way as Simone woke up at 3 AM on her stomach with Marc's bare back to her. She awoke to the thought of her missing patients again and, in turn, needed a dart.
She grabbed her last smoke, lighter, and a pocket-sized cattle hot shot she kept and slipped her slip-on shoes back on before leaving the building. The air was significantly colder than earlier, making her wish she had covered her legs and put on a coat.
The night was mostly quiet as a few cars cruised by, and the light of the single lamppost on the other end of the parking lot illuminated her vision. Even though she knew she shouldn't have come out alone, she felt oddly safe.
A thick plume of smoke floated from her lips, and her gaze focused on it as it disbursed before her. She swore it to be her last cigarette, so she would savor it.
Without warning, the lampost ahead disappeared. Simone's eyesight filled with black, and the smoke smell trapped around her as heat covered her head and neck and arms tightly wrapped around her, forcing her elbows to her body.
"The fuck!" She yelled as her feet no longer touched the ground. She began kicking and screaming, but there was no use. A loud thunk registered in her ears, and her screaming and moving ceased as her body fell limp. Her last thought was of how much of an idiot she was for coming outside and keeping her back exposed.
Once Simone awoke, it took longer than usual to fully open her eyes and register her surroundings. It was utterly dark, nearly too dark for her sight to fully adjust. Humid and dank, the air smelled rotten and skunky. It was entirely too quiet for her to get a reading on where she was.
Her head pounded, and the right side of her face felt moist down to her jaw. There was no movement in her limbs as she attempted to wiggle, realizing she was duct taped to a chair with several layers wrapped around her torso and ankles, yanking stray arm hairs as she moved.
She was nearly too petrified to scream, but by god, she let one rip that made her feel like she collapsed a lung and busted a vessel in her eye before a shadow emerged, landing a sharp smack across her left cheek. Her head relaxed to the side in response to the burning.
"You must be quiet, doctor." The English accent pierced her ears before forcing her head forward again and placing a thick piece of duct tape over her lips. It was Walton. She knew that voice anywhere. Hot tears began streaming down her cheeks as she remembered what he did to his victims before he was locked up and realized she would no doubt meet the same fate.
A filthy thumb came up to the right side of Simone's face and glided under her eyelid, catching the tears before they could roll down, and Simone jerked her head away at the feeling of the finger coming near her eyeball.
Don't touch my fucking eyes! She thought and screamed through the tape over her mouth the best she could. It was fully muffled, pulling the peachfuzz on her lips every time she tried to move them. The more she heard the muted feedback, the more afraid she got. She began shaking and wiggling without thinking, feeling the chair shift under her and the tape around her arms tug and yank. It was no use.
"You're getting rather annoying," Walton said. "Settle down."
Simone didn't calm as her body flooded into full-blown panic. She knew she wasn't getting anywhere, but she could help it.
Walton had no choice but to subdue her, which he did with a vicious punch as he did the first time, knocking her out cold.
"I'll be back later, doctor."
Marc didn't expect Moni to be out of bed when he woke up. He also didn't expect her to not be anywhere in the apartment, so he checked outside where she would smoke. She wasn't there either, and her BMW was still locked in her parking spot.
Neither Marc nor Steven took this seriously at first, thinking it was a prank or maybe she went for a walk. They didn't want to believe she had been snatched up on their watch, but when they realized her purse and cell phone were still in the apartment, it was clear:
Walton got her, and the empty cigarette pack told them how he did it.
Fuck, Moni, why'd you leave without waking us up?
They sat staring at the folded note containing her instructions for if anything happened to her like it was cursed. They didn't want to read it for fear of it solidifying her disappearance in stone.
"We promised, Marc." Steven spoke up, taking control and beginning to unfold the paper. Marc stopped him abruptly.
"No. We can't. We have to find her."
"We will, but we should see if this gives us any ideas. We promised!" Steven argued.
It felt like someone stuck a meat hook into Marc's heart and dragged it across the pavement. The pain was continuous and immense. He wanted to retreat but knew he couldn't.
I have to figure this out. I have to find her.
Cautiously, he watched Steven open the note and read it quietly.
Boys:
I have a feeling something will happen to me, and if something does, please do as follows.
Marc: the recording from our hypnosis session is on my phone. Listen to it as if I were there, focus, and try to talk to Jake that way. He has an information network and will likely be able to find Walton and, in turn, find me. DO NOT engage. He's dangerous. Get a lead, call the cops.
Steven: You may not want to hear this, but I could be dead right now. It's a possibility. You can mourn later. This isn't a final will and testament, but I withdrew every cent in my name and stuck it in a duffle bag in my closet. Use it, invest it, donate it, whatever. It's yours; don't give it back if I'm alive.
Jake: Don't be so stubborn. They will need you more than you realize; the unfortunate cost will be their acceptance of Khonshu if you won't drop the bird. You can figure that out later. Right now, the only option is integrating and getting this bastard off the street before he hurts anyone else. Every file I have on Walton is in my trunk (don't tell anyone). Again, DO NOT engage.
If I'm found alive, and you ignore these instructions: I'm coming back swinging. At your face.
If I'm dead: FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS! And find my mom. Tell her I turned out alright. Lie if you have to.
I love you, boys. Please be careful.
-Simone, aka Moni.
Their eyes scanned the instances she tried to write in all capital letters to get the point across and how they still looked pretty and curly like the rest of the words.
I'll follow your instructions, Moni, but I can't promise I won't kill the fucker when we find him.

* * *
Walking around the set, saying hi to the cast and crew, you made your way to your next scene. You feel your phone vibrate in your back pocket and see you got a text from your friend back at home. Laughing at something she said, you begin to text back, but not before your phone drops to the floor on the impact of running into someone. You stumble, but the person steadies you. Looking up, you see that it’s Tom, your co-star, your boyfriend, and yet still your crush for who knows how long.
“Hey, Y/N. Probably should watch where you’re going. Never know who or what could sneak up on you,” Tom chuckles, receiving a giggle back from you. He leaned down and pressed his lips to yours in a sweet kiss of greeting. A shiver cascaded down your spine. Every time you were with Tom, or even near him, you could feel the sparks, and your stomach felt all warm and fuzzy inside.
“Well, hi, to you too, Tom. Where are you off to? Our scene is that way,” You question, pointing in the opposite direction that he’s going.
“Oh, really? These big places always confuse me. Walk with me?” Tom smiles, holding his arm out for you. Your smile widens and you take his arm as he guides you to the set together.
“Y/N, I was wondering, would you like to go out with me tonight? After today’s shooting is done. There’s a nice restaurant down the street, not too far from here.” Tom mentioned and you felt all giddy inside.
“Tom, I would love to!” You almost screamed with excitement but tried to hold back the best you could. You haven’t been able to go out much lately with the movie and all, so you’re always so excited when you’re able to go out and have a nice evening with your boyfriend.
* * *
Once your scene with Tom was done for the most part, you both parted ways. “See you later, my love,” You told him, kissing his cheek and walking away, missing the wide-eyed look on his face.
Tom went to shoot a different scene and you went back to your trailer to get ready for your date with Tom. It was a short shooting day, so Tom was coming to pick you up at 7. You had a little over an hour to get ready as you picked out a cute black, off-the-shoulder dress and some converse. After touching up a bit on your hair, you sat at your vanity and waited.
Tom was rarely ever late coming to see you. That’s why you were surprised when the clock struck 7 and Tom hadn’t come to your trailer yet. Maybe he just got caught up in a scene or talking to a crew member, you thought.
You waited and waited. You even texted him, however, with no reply. You didn’t want to seem clingy, so you just left it at one text. You became worried when you realized Tom was half an hour late. Setting an alarm for 8, you decided you’ll text him again. But, for now, you wait. You looked over your script, trying to memorize your lines for tomorrow’s scenes.
Jumping suddenly at your phone’s alarm, it was already 8 and Tom still hasn’t shown up yet. You shot him another text, asking about his whereabouts before stepping out of your trailer to go and find him.
“Hey, have you seen Tom anywhere?” You asked a passing crew member, but he said he didn’t know, that the last place he saw him, though, was his last scene set. You thanked him, then made your way there, not finding Tom, but finding his friend.
“Hey, have you seen Tom? I’ve been waiting for him for an hour, but he never showed. I’ve been looking around for him, but can’t find him.” You told him, sounding a bit exasperated.
“No, sorry, I haven’t seen him. But, I think he mentioned going out with a friend. Have you checked his trailer?” He asked, a little worried himself. He knows that you and Tom are together so he’s a bit suspicious of Tom’s unknown whereabouts.
“I was just about to go check there. Thanks.” You told him, waving with a smile even though your heart was racing.
You head out of the building and zigzag through the various cast and crew trailers until you reached Tom’s trailer, knocking before climbing the stairs to open the door. He’s never had a problem with you just going in.
“Tom, it’s been more than an hour. What’s going-?” There wasn’t a chance to say anything else as the shock of the sight in front of you silenced your voice. Tom kissing your best friend, Emma Watson, was the thing you feared most. You had a feeling there was something between Emma and Tom, but you wanted over everything for that to not be true. But, here you are, staring at your best friend and your boyfriend, making out.
You didn’t have time to say anything before you were out the door, tears rushing down your cheeks.
“Y/N! Y/N, wait!” You heard Tom’s voice behind you.
“What, Tom? What could you possibly say to me right now? How could you?” You were yelling at him, infuriated.
“This isn’t how I wanted you to find out. I was going to tell you,” He started, but you weren’t going to give him the time of day.
“No, Tom. Just, no. There’s nothing you can say to make this better. Just don’t,” Is the last thing you said to him before walking away, sobbing, back to your trailer, missing the way Tom was staring as you walked away from him, heartbroken and guilty all at the same time.
It’s been days since you talked to Tom. Luckily, you haven’t had to shoot any scenes with him. If you see him walking towards you, you’d walk the other way. If he tried to talk to you, you still wouldn’t give him the time of day and you’d just walk away.
Ever since that day, you wouldn’t greet the cast and crew like you used to. Of course, if someone said hi to you, you would respond, but the smiles became short and fake. You isolated yourself. You would shoot your scenes, then go back to your trailer when you weren’t needed, which seems like all the time lately.
And ever since that day, when you caught him cheating with your best friend, Tom’s been miserable. He hates himself for what he did to you, for hurting you, especially because it was for a stupid reason. He’s vowed to make it up to you, to get you back, because he’s realized that he loves you. So, he will do everything he can in order to get you back, to show you he loves you.
You were walking back to your trailer after a long day of shooting, getting towards the end of the movie, when you were stopped by a very anxious-looking Tom.
“Y/N, please, let me talk to you for just a minute, please,” He begged, although he didn’t really give you much space to agree or not.
“I’m gonna be honest with you, Y/N, I did what I did for a stupid reason; because I thought you were too young and we wouldn’t work because of the age difference. I didn’t think I could commit to this relationship, and I’m so sorry for what I did, not telling you before and making out with Emma and you having to see it. Katie, I cannot tell you how sorry I am. If I could I would take it all back…” But you interrupted him.
“But, that’s the thing, Tom, you can’t take it back. It’s done, I saw it. And with my best friend, of all people. I always knew there was something going on between you two," You took a deep breath. "I can’t deal with this right now, so please, just leave me alone,” You told him before turning around and continuing back to your trailer, leaving behind a sad and heartbroken Tom.
You step up into your trailer, plugging your phone into the charger, and seeing a flash of red in the corner of your eye. How could you have not seen it before?
Laid on your bed were a perfect bouquet of red roses and a note on top. You picked up the bouquet, the beautiful scent filling your senses. You knew who they were from even before you saw the note.
My love,
I know this doesn’t make up for what I did, but I am sincerely sorry. I hope you will give me the honor of giving me some of your time so I can explain.
Tom
Just then, looking down, you noticed a small black velvet box that must have been hidden underneath the flowers. You hadn’t noticed it before. Setting down the flowers and note, you picked up the box, opening it to see a beautiful silver ring with a sparkling diamond in the middle, For me, there is only you, engraved on the inside. Tears were once again beginning to form. You had to go apologize for not letting him speak his case. Some part of you said he didn’t deserve you or your time. But another part is saying he does deserve you. You love him and, even after what he did, he still deserves a second chance.
After slipping your shoes back on and shoving the ring into your pocket, you run out of your trailer and towards the sets to try and find him. You knew he had a scene to shoot soon so he should be around somewhere.
Just as you turned a corner, there he was, that sad look on his face with a mix of guilt and who knows what else. He spotted you and your eyes met. All these emotions were flooding through your mind. Your heart was saying one thing, that you need to run to him and let him explain. But your head was telling you to turn around, run away. You tend to listen to your head over your heart, unfortunately, so you turned around and began walking back, tears beginning to fill to the brim.
“Y/N,” The sound of Tom’s voice made you stop; something about it struck you and made you freeze on the spot. He walked towards you and took a deep breath and continued what he had started before. “I hate myself for what I did to you. I know I can’t undo it, and I don’t expect you to forgive me, but I love you, Y/N. After what I did, I saw you crying, and something in me just snapped, and I haven’t been able to sleep or eat, and…”
“Wait, you love me?” You turned suddenly and looked up into his eyes, tears spilling over onto your cheeks. Tom’s hand makes its way to your cheek, ridding away the oncoming tears as he looks into your eyes with a sincere, sad smile.
“Yes, I do. Baby, I love you so much. And I will do anything to make everything up to you. I will beg you for your love until you take it and love me back…”
Next thing you know, your lips were on his, your lips moving together in perfect sync. You both pulled back for air as you slipped your hand into your pocket and pulled out the promise ring. Tom looked down and smiled.
“Do you mean it?” You questioned him hopefully, looking up into his eyes, his hands on your waist and your arms around his neck.
“I mean it all, my love. Indeed, for me, there is only you. I love you and I always will.” Tom declared, taking the ring from you and slipping it onto your ring finger. Tom placed his forehead against yours.
“I love you, too, Tom,” You exclaimed, your sweet smile that no one has seen for the past several days resurfacing.
“I will make it up to you, my love. In any and all ways that I can, I will make sure you know how sorry I am and how much I love you.” Leaning in, he placed a passionate kiss to your lips, adoring the way your lips feel on his.
“The flowers were beautiful, by the way,” You smiled up at him, and the way he looked at you made you feel like the most beautiful girl in the whole universe.
“Only for my girl.”

Kozume Kenma X Reader
-YN LN is a popular mangaka
Chapter 29: Tested

As you sat in the middle of Kenma's sprawled leg, you two cuddled with controllers at hand.
A year at most had passed since the release of Puri Puri Magika: Lost Magic™ and things happened.
Of course PPM recieved a lot of rewards and the hype of the game still hasn't died which surprised you. A multi-player version was also released after 5 months.
You had publish and completed 2 Manga and have a new one on going. Your Manga recieved an anime adaptation which made you proud.
Kenma had won awards as well. Not that we'd go into that🙄. He also 'forced' you to move in so he could make sure you're living healthy and not staying up for a week finishing your script. He also dedicated a day where he streams with you, so you could rest.
You both usually used your time playing games that were on top charts. And among all the games only 1 game almost topped PPM.
The game Kenma had asked Sakujo to make. They publicly released it as a dating simulator, which you could either end up with Kenma or you.
"You idiot! Just fucking die already!!" You screeched as you button mashed.
Right now you were playing Street fighter to match with Kenma's retro theme of the month.
"You suck at this."
"Shut the fuck up! How do I do Kamehameha?!!!??"
Kenma sighed, "It's not called Kamehameha idiot. It's called-" He didn't need to finish his sentence when his character finished you off with a yell of "Hadouken!"
You looked at how your character lost and clenched you jaw.
"You suck!!!! You're a cheater!!!! I hate this let's play something else!!!!!" You screamed.
Kenma frowned at how loud your were but obliged. He checked the comments to see which games they were recommending.
"Let's play th---" He was cut off when the door slammed open outside.
The two of you looked at each other.
"Y/N!!! BABEEEEE!!!!" You heard your Soulmate yell at the living room.
"AHHH! Kuroo!!!!" You hopped off Kenma and ran to the door.
Kenma wouldn't agree but according to the comments, Kenma gave a horrified and broken look the moment you jumped off.
"This idiot." He grumbled and followed you as fast as he could not bothering with his stream.
He saw how you and Kuroo approached each other in slow mo, skipping to each other. So Kenma had no trouble grabbing you by the hood of your hoodie and frowned at Kuroo only to see Alisa holding Kuroo in a choke hold.
"Hey Kenma!" Alisa smiled.
The blond nodded and dragged you behind him.
"Alisaaaaa! Kenmaaaa!!!! You can't split away soulmates!! Let us goo!!!" You and Kuroo struggled from their hold.
Managing to free a hand you both tried to reach out to each other, only for Alisa to choke Kuroo harder killing the poor man.
"I came to borrow YN~" Alisa sang looking at Kenma.
"If she's going be like this, you can have her."
"Swap her with Kuroo?"
"Why the fuck would I want Kuroo?"
"Well I can't have both of them! Do you seriously want them arrested? Again?"
Kenma groaned at sighed. He let Alisa drag you to your closet and he was stuck with Kuroo.
After you got prepared to go out you gave Kenma a kiss and tried to do it Kuroo as well but the demonic aura of the two scared you both so you decided against it and went out.
Unbeknownst to you the two male had a talk about something. Unfortunately unbeknownst to them, the stream was still active...
Alisa dragged you from shop to shop. Buying this and that.
After what seemed to be 3 hours you and Alisa went to a food court.
To your surprise you saw Keiji, Tenma and Yamaguchi together.
"Y/N! Alisa!" Satori greeted.
"What are you guys doing here?" You asked shocked.
"Well we wanted to hang out and Alisa said you were with her so we went here." Tenma grinned.
"Satori dragged me with him." Akaashi said.
They all joined you and then conversation just flowed perfectly. You talked about this and that while eating.
You'd check on your phone hoping to see a message from Kenma but you got none.
"You keep checking your phone, want us gone that bad?" Satori frowned.
"N-No! I was just checking if Kenma left a message."
"Did he?"
"Nope. I kinda wanna go home now."
"Oh my god what if he's cheating on you?" Satori gasped. Which earned him a hit from Alisa and Akaashi.
"As if that hermit could get anyone else. Especially with Kuroo following him. My Soulmate would make girls pass out before they could even glance at Kenma."
"I don't understand why YN loves Kuroo more than Kenma." Yamaguchi laughed nervously.
"Alisa prefers Kenma. Kuroo prefers YN. Kenma hates everyone." Akaashi pointed out.
"If Alisa would let me I wouldn't mind being a third."
"One thing we agreed on is never put you and Kuroo together and unsupervised. So no I don't think so."
"When did you learn that?" Tenma asked.
"After the two got arrested." Akaashi answered.
"Huh?"
"It was at a train. Something... Explicit happened." Alisa sighed remembering what happened.
"H-Huh?"
"YN went on her knees on a train. They didn't actually do anything, just suggested the thought but I guess it was enough to get them arrested." Akaashi explained.
"That's where the KenYN break up came in."
"I'm surprised Kenma and Alisa are still dating you and Kuroo at this point."
"I know right?" Alisa cringed. "Anyway we should continue our shopping spree."
You all stood up and roamed around for another hour or two until Alisa got a message.
"We should go home. Kuroo just texted me. You guys wanna come with?"
They all shrugged and said they'll meet you at your place.
When you got home you got home you laughed seeing how messy your place was. It was like there's a con going on at your house.
Everyone in it was Cosplaying as some game character. There were people you didn't quite know who.
"Y/N!!!!" Kuroo came barelling towards you in his Luigi costume with Mario right behind him.
"Ahh! Where's Akaashi?!" Mario, who turned out to be Bokuto, asked.
Alisa stepped in front of you before Kuroo got to you and turned to Bokuto. "He's on his way. He probably changed clothes."
"What's happening? Why is everyone dressed up?"
Kenma came out of the room with his Overwatch cosplay. You told your friends you were going to Kenma and went over.
"Well hello there. What's up with everything?"
"Do you not know what today is?" Kenma asked.
"Oh fuck, is it our anniversary?"
You and Kenma just looked at each. You fucked up.
"You don't know when that is?"
"P-psh. Of course I-I know!
Kenma flicked your forehead and walked away after saying, "Get dressed. Choose whatever you want."
And now he's upset at you. You felt guilty about forgetting what today was.
Luckily you and Kenma often Cosplay during stream so you had spares. You decided to go as Graves from League of Legends with face beard and all.
Everyone was looking at you when you got out of the room which made you feel anxious.
Was this party for you and you forgot about it? It wasn't Kenma's birthday that's for sure. What could it have been?
Alisa came to you in a KDA Akali Cosplay that you assume Kenma lent her.
"Oh my god the photos are gonna be so great."
"I think Kenma's mad at me..." You mumbled.
"When is he not?"
"I don't know what today is..."
"Just- it'll come to you sooner or later."
You frowned as you scanned the room for your man. You saw Akaashi in a Kingdom Hearts Cosplay, Satori and Wakatoshi in a Tomb Raider costume. Hinata and Kageyama in Danganronpa. Link, who is Atsumu, clinging to Skull Kid. Sakujo and his husband wearimg you and Kenma's character in PPM.
But you found no one in an Overwatch costume.
"Excuse me..." You heard from the front. It was Kuroo, Bokuto and Kenma on an improvised stage.
"I'm sure everyone here knows what's going on right?" Kenma said exaggerating on the word everyone.
"Today, to continue our celebration we will be having a treasure hunt! The treasures you're looking for are in a form of a game loot box of various game style."
"There are a total of 21 loot boxes around town. One of them empty. You are to bring the loot box unopened here and you'll claim the prize of whatever it is in it. You could either come home empty handed or 100k courtesy to our dear host."
"The clues to the boxes are cut evenly to all the players. All the players will have 1 clue. Each players could only get one loot box and it has to correspond to your clue. Come up and get your clue!"
With that, Bokuto brought out a box with a hole on top. Everyone went on stage and got their clue. You were the last to get the clue so you were excited.
The thought of at least 45 adults in Cosplay running around town looking for boxes humored you. So you excitedly looked at your clue.
What made today special.
You froze. It was as if they were doing this in purpose. You had no idea what today was, and of course you had to get the clue asking for what today was.
You looked at Kenma and he gave you a look. Did he know which clue you got, and is disappointed you didn't know what it was?
You took a deep breath and went over to Kenma. "I-I'll win! I know it."
Kenma nodded. "That'll be one less 100k. Do win."
"Ready???" Kuroo called everyone.
"Go!" Bokuto yelled and everyone went out.
Eyes were on us with a bunch of adults wearing Cosplay coming out of a room. Some recognized people it made you realize everyone running right now was a pretty big deal in entertainment industry or related to someone. No one recognized you though. Bless your fake beard.
You ran to wherever you could think of. Enix, Jump, your place. But you saw nothing. Then you thought of the party.
The party wasn't a year ago from today but it was the only one you could think of.
You ran you were just so tired. After all you've been running for hours. And when you got there.
It was empty.
It broke your heart. You couldn't remember what today was. You failed Kenma.
You just gave up. You needed Kenma's comfort, but you were afraid you won't get it since you failed.
You sadly made your way back to you place. Tears threatening to fall. You were disappointed in yourself.
"Y/N." You heard someone call. You lifted your head to see Kenma.
The tears fell. "Kenma... I could find the box..."
Everyone was already back, and was looking out.
"I-I looked everywhere and I-I just couldn't find it..." A soft sob escaped your lips. And you looked down.
"Y/N."
"I-I don't remember what today is..."
"Y/N look at me." Kenma called.
You lifted your head and saw that Kenma was on his knees. Your eyes widened.
"H-Huh...?"
He brought out a Overwatch loot box from his pocket and cleared his throat.
"Today... Was the day when it all started. The day you showed up in my steps with a stupid flash drive..." He laughed weakly.
You blinked confused of what's happening.
"The day I saw, was the most important day for me. It was the day... The day I noticed you. I really hate you back then. You were so annoying, you still are. You're so persistent. So loud. You ruined my stream. And you kept bothering me. "
"Now you're just insulting me..." You laughed sadly.
"I-I... Look... I love you. I love you YN LN." And looked at the box, "Do you want to know what box you got?"
"Uh-Hm..."
When you opened the box there was a ring.
"Marry me."
You took the box from him and laughed. "You are such a nerd!" Wrapping your arms around him and gave him a kiss.
The crowd hollered and awed at you two. Chanting "Answer him!" and "Say yes!"
When you two parted you rested your forehead against his.
"I love you so much Kenma. I'd love to spend an eternity stuck with your stupid nerdy ass."

Safe
When the house gets broken into while you’re home alone, your boyfriend, Chris, blames himself for not being around until it’s too late.
-
“Going home?” Your boyfriend, Chris, asked as you gave him a hug from the side, careful not to mess up his newly pressed shirt. You’d met him on the set of the show he was working on to bring him the lunch he’d forgotten at home, only to surprise him with food from his favorite restaurant, and finally his lunch break was about over. They were setting up the courtroom for a scene that had to match one they’d already filmed so it was taking a little longer than usual. You were glad, though, because it gave him some extra time for lunch.
The filming was only half an hour away from the house, which you loved, because it meant he wasn’t all the way across the country, and for awhile it was like you were just a normal couple with two normal nine to five jobs. And even though you missed Dodger on the days Chris brought him to set, it was as normal as the two of you would probably ever be.
“Yep,” you responded. “I have another meeting at two.” He walked you back to your car that was sitting in the parking lot, opening your door for you as you got in.
“Okay. Text me when you get home, alright? Even if I don’t answer.” You nodded.
“I know the drill. Love you.” You stood on your toes and kissed his scruffy jaw before sitting down in the driver’s seat.
“Love you too, babe.” Chris shut your door and let you drive away, watching you leave the studio gates before heading back to the set. You texted him when you got home, like you’d promised you would, and got out of the car. You didn’t get a response, but you didn’t expect one. Chris usually just left his phone in his trailer, even though he tried not to because he wanted to be there if you needed him. Usually you would just text him funny links throughout the day, so it didn’t matter. You had never really needed him so urgently that it couldn’t wait until he got back to his trailer in a few hours.
You had two hours before your meeting and weren’t too pressed about getting your personal laptop from the car, so you didn’t. You got out of the car and went up the stairs, throwing your coat on the bed, and took off your boots. Normally you would be letting Dodger out, but Chris had taken him with him that day. There were kids on the set that morning, so Chris decided to bring him because of how good he always was. You changed into a t-shirt, knowing that you would turn your camera off after a minute, and went to sit down to go over your presentation. You were switching the room that Chris used as an office with yours, and when you realized that your USB drive with your presentation on it was upstairs, you sighed and got out of the chair. You walked up the stairs and into Chris’s office, looking at your phone as you went.
You noticed a noise outside, but didn’t think anything of it. The neighbor’s kids were homeschooled and usually played outside in the afternoon, so you assumed it was them. You had lived with Chris for a few months and he had lived in the house since he was in his twenties, so you trusted that it was safe. You’d spent months at a time dogsitting before you were even dating Chris that seriously. You felt safe. Maybe too safe. Considering one of your biggest fears was someone breaking into the house and murdering you, you should have been a little bit more cautious of noise outside. But you trusted Chris and you trusted his house.
You sat down at the desk in Chris’s unusually low chair, swinging around a little as you tried to find the right USB drive since you and Chris just bought them in bulk. You heard another noise. The downstairs door, the one that went out to the backyard, rattling. Your heart jumped and you stood up, walking over to the backyard. There was someone standing there, someone you didn’t know, and you knew for a fact that it wasn’t one of the neighbors. You’d locked all of the doors, thankfully, but you realized the person was starting to walk around the house. And you noticed a lump in the pocket of their jeans. Your first thought was Chris.
I think someone’s trying to get into the house, you texted. Of course you didn’t get an answer. You called him, hoping that maybe he had his phone. But he didn’t because he didn’t answer. The fear was starting to creep in, but you were confident in the house enough to remember that the closet in the office locked from the inside, and so did the room. So you locked yourself in the room, and then backed yourself into the closet that was full of old scripts and extra clothes, and you called 911.
“What’s your address?”
“21 Maple Street. I think someone’s trying to break into my house and I’m pretty sure they have a gun, they tried all of the doors and now they’re looking through the windows I think.”
“We’ll have officers dispatched to your location, it looks like we have someone patrolling a few minutes away. Can I get your name?”
“Y/n.” You heard glass shattering and felt the house shifting below you; the back patio door had been smashed in. “Shit, they smashed in the back door.” Your entire body was shaking now and you could literally hear the person downstairs. You were trying to be calm, taking the phone away from your ear and texting Chris.
On the phone with 911. Has a gun. Locked in the closet. I love you. To say you were terrified didn’t even cover it. You heard the distinct sound of footsteps downstairs against the hardwood floors and tried to control your breathing. You counted backwards from ten, what you always did when you were nervous. But you were sure your heart was beating so loudly that anyone could hear it. The person had to know that someone was there – your car was in the driveway and so was the extra car. You had kind of hoped they would leave after seeing dog toys all over the floor by the door, but no. Whoever it was definitely was not scared. Of anything. And that was what terrified you. You shoved your phone against your chest, knowing the light could be seen from under the closet door if they got in, and you just wanted to cry out loud. All you wanted was to be able to cry out loud.
“BOSTON PD!” You heard a knock at the front door. Why the fuck were they coming to the front door? The back was where they’d broken in, you’d said that. Whoever was inside paused on the stairs for a second before dashing up. You were all the way down the hall, behind two locked doors, and you tried to believe that you were going to be safe. You heard the police again, this time opening the door, and you were so surprised that you dropped your phone. The silicone case let your phone shatter, and you were convinced that you were done for. You slid down on the ground, tears in your eyes, and waited.
You heard voices yelling back and forth for someone to drop a gun and you put your hand on the closet doorknob. A gunshot sounded and you heard glass shattering and you just sat there and started crying, really crying. You could hear that the police were in the house and you knew everything would be fine, but what if it wasn’t? You picked up your phone and hung up on 911, calling Chris again. And again. He just didn’t answer. His voicemail just picked up and said his box was full, probably because you’d been calling him so much. You knew it was because his phone was in his trailer, you knew that, but part of you felt like something had to be wrong with him too. Everything was so fucked up that you barely even knew what was happening anymore.
You finally stood up and opened the closet door, shakily making your way over to the office door and opening it. It was a blur as you emerged from the room, finally, and an officer escorted you down the stairs. You called Chris once more, but he didn’t answer. You texted your boss and said you wouldn’t be able to give your presentation. You texted Chris, again, and sat down on the couch as an officer stayed behind.
“Is this your house?”
“No, it’s my boyfriend’s. He’s working, he probably won’t answer his phone.” You wrapped a blanket around your shoulders, realizing how cold the first floor of the house was when the door was shattered. Your leg was shaking up and down, making one of the panels on the old hardwood floor creak. You relayed everything to the officer, playing with the lining on your t-shirt, and sniffled. They agreed to stay with you for a couple of hours, walking you through what they recommended you do. You would have to call the insurance company, find someone to come replace the back door, and about a million other things you wouldn’t have even thought about.
You called Chris in between every call, your heart absolutely aching. What if something had happened to him too? Or what if his phone was broken? Or what if he just never came back, or… You were being ridiculous. You knew you were being ridiculous. You tried drinking some water to calm down, playing games on your phone. But finally you heard the familiar sound of his car door shutting and you stood up as the front door opened. Chris was standing there, confused as hell, and his eyes just widened. He let Dodger’s leash go and walked through to where you were sitting in the living room.
“What happened? Are you hurt?” He asked. You stood up and he embraced you tighter than he ever had before, pulling your head to his chest. He let go of you just for a second, looking you up and down, trying to see if you were hurt.
“No,” you responded, “not really.”
“Not really okay or not hurt?’ He asked you. He ran a hand through your hair, pulling it behind your ear.
“Someone broke into the house. I kept trying to call you and texting you, but…”
“My phone died and I forgot to bring a charger this morning,” he explained. “Shit, baby, I’m so sorry.” You just nodded, wrapping your arms around his waist, and Chris quickly talked to the officer before he left the two of you alone. You tried to go on about your night, listening as Chris called someone to get the door fixed. You fed Dodger and sat down at the kitchen table, eventually going upstairs to shower. You came back down to see that Chris was sitting at the table, head in his hands, and two empty bottles of beer sitting on the table beside him.
“I should’ve been there,” he muttered. He looked up at you with those big blue eyes and you just sighed.
“You were half an hour away, you wouldn’t have been able to do anything anyway.” You were mostly just trying to keep him calm because you knew he was getting into that over-protective boyfriend space. You walked over to him and threw away the beers. He just sighed. You could see the regret in his eyes as he crossed his arms.
“But you could’ve gotten hurt and I wouldn’t have even known.”
“Chris, I’m fine.”
“No, you’re not,” he said loudly. The wind outside was picking up, but he definitely didn’t have to yell like he did. “You’re not fine. If I’d have just answered my phone…” You sat down across from him and took his hand from where it was on the table, squeezing it tightly. You could hear that his breathing was getting faster and faster. He was just upset.
“But I’m okay. Everything’s okay.”
“What if you weren’t, though?” He looked up at you and you could see tears in his eyes. Your favorite eyes. “I’m supposed to protect you.”
“And if you were here you could’ve gotten hurt, too.”
“But you were alone. And you must’ve felt like you were alone because I wasn’t answering.”
“You were doing your job, Chris. And there was no way to know that something was going to happen.”
“Yeah, but…” You saw a single tear fall from his right eye. That absolutely broke your heart. Seeing him and hearing him so upset just killed you. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there.” You stood up and let go of his hand, moving over to where he was sitting. You sat down on his lap, trying to interrupt whatever bad thing he was thinking about, and leaned your head in his neck. That seemed to help him a little and he wrapped his arms around you, his breathing calming down a little bit.
“You’re here now,” you pointed out as you put your arms around his neck. You kissed his jaw like you had earlier, shutting your eyes and relaxing in his arms. “I know I’m safe now. And I know you won’t let anything happen to me.”
“I’m supposed to protect you,” he repeated. “I’m sorry I couldn’t.”
“You didn’t even get the chance to.” You sat up, running your fingers through his slightly gelled hair, and kissed him. You put your head back in his shoulder, hugging him tightly as you held onto him.
“I love you, baby. I’m sorry this happened. And I’m sorry I wasn’t there. I’ll start carrying my phone with me, at the least.”
“Maybe you should get an extra charger too,” you suggested. That made him laugh a little bit. The first time since he’d gotten home.
“I’m so sorry I wasn’t there. But I promise that if anything else happens, I will be. I promise. I want you to feel safe.”
“I feel safe with you. That’s all I care about, okay?” You felt his hand snake up your back, underneath your shirt, and eventually fell asleep as his massive hand rubbed your back, up and down. At least you felt safe enough to fall asleep on him, he thought, and he sighed as he took you upstairs.
A/N: I loved writing this so much 🥺 Thank you for requesting! Protective Chris is the best Chris.

Pick Your Poison
This is my first CYOA that I’m posting. I hope you all like it. I would like to thank @queensynderella for the awesome banner on this page and for her help on how to set this thing up lol and i want to thank my twinny, even though she doesn’t have a tumblr, for the awesome banners for each result. Enjoy.
These stories take place in a VIllain AU and the events occur after all the characters have turned 21.

Warnings: Swearing, Alcohol consumption
Club Inferno was the hottest new club and you had been dying to go but no one would agree to go with you. So what if it’s on the more villainous side of the city, you think to yourself.
“It’s not like it’s some exclusively villain club.” You say to the emptiness of your apartment. “I need new friends.” You scoff. “Fuck I need a new life.” You think out loud.
You were bored with your mundane job and your boring friends who were happy with the same old thing, the same routine every day. Maybe they were more cautious because they were quirkless. Maybe you were more adventurous because you did have a quirk. Who knows? You think. Regardless, you were tired of it. You weren’t even sure how you had ended up here. You weren’t interested in becoming a hero but you wanted more than a boring office job and more than spending another Saturday night home alone.
“Fuck this. I’ll just go alone. I can take care of myself and besides maybe I can find a hot villain to call my own.” You proclaim to no one. Anything would be better than this, you think to yourself as you begin getting ready for your night out.
You finish securing your hair in an updo using the mirror before smoothing your short tight dress. You admire the way it hugs your curves just right and how it shows off your legs and cleavage. You check your makeup and wipe the small amount of lipstick from the corner of your mouth. “Ok let’s do this.” You say to yourself as you leave your room. You grab your keys, jacket, and small purse and head out into the pleasant night.
You take the train downtown and get off at the station across the street from the club. The outside entrance is bathed in red and orange lights. Club Inferno written in nice script with carved flames surrounding it. This place looks nice, the rumors about villains frequenting here were probably exaggerated, you think as enter through the large doors. Upon entering you are greeted by a large man. You hand him your ID and after scanning it, he hands it back to you and allows you to enter the club properly.
You look around taking in your surroundings. There’s a large wraparound bar to one side adorned with intricately carved flames and illuminated with an effect that makes them appear to dance like real ones. Similarly the bottles of liquor are backlit by the same dancing flame effect. Across from the bar is a large crowded dancefloor with a DJ station at the end. Lights flash and move as the colors change bathing the dancing masses in their light. Flanking the dancefloor on either side are roped off areas where some people are sitting on comfortable looking couches drinking. Must be the VIP sections, you think, I wonder if there are any villains in there.
So far, you’ve only seen what appears to be normal fun loving club goers enjoying a good time. You frown a bit. I knew the rumors were just exaggerations, you think to yourself. You should feel relieved that you wouldn’t have to worry about any potential danger but instead you just felt a little disappointed.
Maybe you were more of a thrill seeker than you thought. What had you been expecting anyway? Some sexy villain showing up, sweeping you off your feet, and fucking you senseless? Not very realistic. You realized that you were hoping for that though. You shake your head as you decide to do a lap around the club to check people out. As you approach the VIP areas, you try to see who might be in there but the lighting and angle does not allow you to see much.
Little did you know that as you made your way around, you had garnered the attention of a certain someone whose eyes now followed your every movement.
Those eyes watched you walk, admiring the fit of your dress. They watched you dance, observing the sensual way you would move your body to the music. The man whom these eyes belonged to delighted in your every curve and movement. Soon he let his mind wander. How would you move those sexy curves in response to his touch, to his kiss, to his bite? How would you writhe beneath him when he was buried deep inside you? What delightful song would tumble from your lips as he had his way with you? As soon as he saw you take a seat at the bar he knew it was time to make his move. He wanted you and he always got what he wanted, he thought as a devious smirk came to his lips.
You take a seat at the bar to rest and order yourself a drink. You scan the room as you wait for the bartender to come over. Ok so maybe you were there alone and maybe there weren’t any villains like you had originally hoped but you were still having fun and that was what mattered. You laugh to yourself as you turn back towards the bar. It’s probably a good thing that there were no villains there. What would you actually do if one approached you? I wonder. You think as you shake your head.
The bartender comes over to you and places a drink in front of you. You furrow your brow. “I didn’t order anything yet.” You say. “No, but it would appear that you have an admirer. He sent this over.” The bartender tells you. “Wait. Who sent it over?” You ask. The man just gives you a little smile and walks away. You look at the drink and then look around the room trying to figure out who could have sent it to you. Confused but excited at the prospect of an admirer and a free drink, you grab the glass. As you raise it to your lips, an unbidden thought jumps to your mind:
Be careful what you wish for….
What are you drinking?
Absinthe
Martini
Hurricane
Vodka on the Rocks

Taylor Kitsch on '21 Bridges' and Taking Pride in 'John Carter'
The actor, who has experienced ups and downs, notes his high-profile Disney flop has had a "mini-resurgence" in recent years: "People stop me all the time for that."
[This story contains spoilers for 21 Bridges]
Taylor Kitsch takes everything in stride — including his career. The 21 Bridges star became an overnight sensation in 2006 via NBC’s critically lauded TV series Friday Night Lights, whose devout following refused to let the football drama die after each underviewed season. Because of his breakout role as fullback/running back Tim Riggins, Hollywood quickly created movie star expectations for Kitsch, but once his first two blockbusters, John Carter and Battleship, vastly underperformed at the box office, Hollywood quickly threw the baby out with the bathwater. Fortunately for Kitsch, he soon found his footing with a string of well-reviewed performances including HBO’s The Normal Heart, Lone Survivor and True Detective.
While Kitsch couldn’t control the expectations placed on him, he appreciates the ups and downs as well as the continued opportunities to jump back and forth between leading man and character actor. In his latest movie, 21 Bridges, Kitsch plays a supporting role as Ray Jackson, a war veteran and small-time criminal who’s being hunted by veteran police detective Andre Davis (Chadwick Boseman). Soon, Kitsch will return as the lead in Neill Blomkamp’s Inferno.
“I could honestly give a fuck if I’m fifteenth on the call sheet or first,” Kitsch tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I see myself as a character actor first, and it really boils down to that. I love coming in and playing a flashy guy like Ray and supporting Chadwick… So, I have no problem doing one scene if it’s something worthy or something that makes me uncomfortable.”
Oddly enough, Kitsch has noticed a recent resurgence for Disney’s John Carter, one of the films that didn’t meet box office expectations.
“I think it got another life when it went on Netflix not long ago… People stop me all the time for that, especially in Europe,” Kitsch says. “Maybe, at the time, it was more of a knee-jerk reaction of ‘let’s see how we can bury this and everyone that has a part in it.’ Over time, I think you take a breath and understand that it is what it is... I guess people who watch it now for the first time can take a lot more away from it than people did at first… I learned a ton on that movie. I honestly don’t see it as a failure.”
In a recent conversation with THR, Kitsch also discusses his upcoming lead role in Neill Blomkamp’s Inferno, his memories from the series finale of Friday Night Lights and his experience on True Detective season two.
My favorite part of movie robberies is the mask choices, and in 21 Bridges, your character, Ray, wears a skull bandana of sorts. If you ever performed your own make-believe robbery, what would be your go-to mask?
Ooh. It’s funny because I do it in Savages as well. There was a long debate — and no one knows this — but we were going to wear old man masks. We screen-tested it, and I was just hoping that [Oliver] Stone would go for it. But, they went away from that, obviously. I would probably do something more enveloping — more like a full head thing. The old man mask — I was dying laughing in it. It’s a little more self-deprecating, and maybe a fuck you to whomever is coming after you. I’d probably go in that kind of direction. Point Break had all those President masks, and that was a lot of fun because you’re along for the ride.
It seems like there’s less and less crime drama these days — at least on the big screen. Do you also get that sense within the industry?
Without a doubt. I notice it with scripts to be honest. It’s the stuff that I grew up on. This is kind of an ode to those thrillers: the Heats, the Serpicos, the Dog Day Afternoons, the Mean Streets. Obviously, I’m not comparing it to those classics, but I think we all know the game has changed with the studios and their direction. I think I’m doctoring up the stat, but I think 21 of the last 22 number-one movies have been superhero, or sequel, or prequel, or something like that. Original content from major studios is getting rarer and rarer to hit theaters. Hopefully, this does well, and we can keep making these types of movies.
There's the cliche that villains or antagonists think they're the heroes of their own story. Actors are also taught to not judge their characters. With that in mind, did you find a way to humanize Ray Jackson even though he’s one of your most ruthless characters?
I think you have to. You have to erase your own judgements like you said. It’s imperative to go in with a clean slate as much as you can. That loyalty with Stephan James’ character, Michael, is a beautifully tragic thing for Ray, and that was my hook into it all. He is a stone-cold killer, but for me, personally, he’s willing to literally die out of loyalty to Michael and the guilt over losing Michael’s brother overseas. There is humanity, and it is gray. You’ve gotta tip the hat to Brian Kirk, our director, as he really gave me the reins and that responsibility to go there with him. We reworked it a bit to infuse that. If Kirk called me and said, “Your character just kill cops,” literally anybody could go do that role. You always want to make it as deep as you can. That’s why we do this.
Ray also reveals he’s in recovery at a certain point in the film. Besides loyalty and guilt, was that character detail another major draw for you since it gave you something else to play?
It was everything. It starts with this stone-cold guy that you don’t think is gonna crack, and to see that, to understand that and to relapse because of the circumstance, that is everything. The scene at the vault was a pivotal scene — to see him start to unravel. He also mentions the loss of Michael’s brother in this moment. This guy is human, and you have to show that.
My screening was so loud that I couldn’t hear Ray’s final line, but it seems like he died trying to take all the blame off of Michael. Before giving your thoughts on his death scene, do you remember the final line?
Of course. It’s “Michael, he’s not like me.” That was two takes. It was one of the last scenes and my only scene with Chadwick (Boseman). That’s literally his last breath. Thankfully, we shot that later in the shooting schedule. Kirk and I really worked on that in the script: what would he say, how do we want to end him and make this an earned beat in the film, especially for Ray. We really didn’t rehearse, but we talked about that moment when I signed on and then we reworked it to that. There was a little bit of luck with Chadwick’s character in that moment, which really grounds it. I think he was gonna lose that gunfight if that innocent guy doesn’t come around the corner. Ray was just trained on those steps. And, just as important, the moment where he lets go of the woman. He’s dying, and he knows it. Ray dragged his hand across a handrail and wall so that Chadwick would follow his blood, giving Michael more time. That’s why Ray told Michael they had to split up; Ray didn’t want to tell him he was gonna die.
You've handled weapons in plenty of past projects. Did you have to do weapons training again, or have you maintained those skills over the years?
You always want to press the refresh button. A lot of these weapons are different as well. It’s repetition, repetition, repetition. I feel I have a good base for it. I feel very comfortable with it, but I don’t really handle weapons unless I’m working or the job calls for it. I don’t do a whole lot of that when I’m at home. I just practice those reloads, learn how to unjam and all those kind of things. You want to be comfortable, and you want it to be a part of you so you don’t even think about it while you’re working and in character. It’s a great tool to have.
Do you ever try to avoid using the same style or moves as Lone Survivor’s Michael Murphy or True Detective’s Paul Woodrugh?
To be honest, I’m not that conscious of it. The characters are just so different. I had the same Navy SEAL teach me the handgun stuff and the M4 stuff — from Lone to True. They just say, “Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Take your time. You’re in no rush. Make sure you have the target before you shoot.” I think it’s more what’s behind the eyes in that sense. The movements are usually pretty similar if you really train with a gun. Certain people may have their own movement, but SEALS or police officers know the second you pick up a gun if you know what you’re doing or not.
Is 21 Bridges the most night shoots you’ve ever done?
I did a series [Shadowplay] in Europe right after this, and we did a crazy amount of night shoots on that. I don’t wish it on anybody. You literally kind of lose your mind. When you’re a month in, your off-days are messed up because you don’t want to screw up that pattern. You’re doing these scenes at 4 or 5 in the morning. You go to bed at 9 a.m. and you’re up at 2 p.m. or 2:30 p.m., hopefully you can work out first. Then, you’re on set rehearsing the scene during the daylight, and the second it gets dark, you’re shooting it. It’s tough on the crew; it’s tough on everybody. It’s obviously a huge part of this movie since it takes place in five allotted hours. So, you know what you’re signing up for.
When it comes to shooting on location, do you prefer shooting all over a major city, or are you most partial to remote locations around the world?
Whatever suits the script. I will take locations any day of the week over a fucking studio. I’m not a huge fan of studios, but I understand you have to use them. 21 Bridges was all on location, and I love that. It just puts you in the moment, and you’ve got all these factors that you probably wouldn’t have to deal with in a controlled environment.
You're an actor who can be a leading man and a character actor as needed. When making choices at this point, are you less concerned with the type of role as long as the writing, cast and filmmaker are compelling?
Obviously, I’ve had great lows, great highs and this and that. I’ve worked with some amazing people. That’s always been the target — just be scared, be uncomfortable and take risks. My next one with is with (Neill) Blomkamp, and it is the lead. My character is basically in every scene of this movie, but the character and the tone of this is what draws me. I could honestly give a fuck if I’m fifteenth on the call sheet or first. I see myself as a character actor first, and it really boils down to that. While kind of impossible, if David Koresh was seventh on the call sheet, I still would’ve done Waco. I love coming in and playing a flashy guy like Ray and supporting Chadwick, a guy who’s been doing great work and is an even better guy. So, I have no problem doing one scene if it’s something worthy or something that makes me uncomfortable.
Jumping back a bit, I’ve heard a surprising number of people celebrate John Carter in recent years and how it deserved a much better fate. Have you noticed how well Carter has aged?
I think it got another life when it went on Netflix not long ago, maybe a year ago or something, but, yes, to be blunt. People stop me all the time for that, especially in Europe. It’s had a little mini-resurgence. Maybe, at the time, it was more of a knee-jerk reaction of “let’s see how we can bury this and everyone that has a part in it.” Over time, I think you take a breath and understand that it is what it is... I guess people who watch it now for the first time can take a lot more away from it than people did at first. It’s always flattering, and I learned a ton on that movie. I honestly don’t see it as a failure. I have great memories from it, and I still talk to a bunch of the cast. It is what it is, right?
True Detective has helped fill the big screen’s crime drama void, and I actually enjoyed your season from an actor and character standpoint. Was that a great experience regardless of how it was received?
Yeah, it was. I still check in with Nic once in a while to see how he’s doing. Selfishly, probably, because I’d love for him to write me something. (Laughs.) Going back to that first beat, these noir movies or shows aren’t really getting made much, and Pizzolatto is a beast. I’d work with him again in a heartbeat. I loved his process. I watched True Detective Season One, and I remember saying, “This is the kind of stuff I want to be a part of.” Obviously, it worked out, and I’d do it again. But, yeah, I’m a huge fan of Pizzo, and we got along incredibly well. I’m still grateful for that opportunity.
I’m not gonna ask you about a Friday Night Lights reunion or revival since you’ve been pretty consistent about not being interested.
Right. Thank you.
Since the finale is where you’d prefer to leave things, what do you remember most about those final couple scenes of yours with Adrianne (Palicki) and Derek (Phillips)?
It was sombering — metaphorically, literally. Doing that sunset scene on this house they were trying to build is such a metaphor. I like that they left it open, and that’s very FNL. We made the audience work for everything, and I love that process. I try to keep that with me in everything I do. It was just a beautiful moment, and you’ve gotta tip your hat to [showrunner] Jason Katims. He was really receptive to our ideas and applied a few of them. I’m still best friends with Derek Phillips, who was obviously Billy Riggins for five years. He actually came to Prague and visited on my last gig. I’m a big supporter of his, too. We laughed a lot, but it was just sombering, not just with that scene, but because it was over. It was a 5-year run against all odds. I don’t remember a day where we weren’t being told it was going to be canceled. I think we ended up on 25 networks, on 16 different days and at 12 different times. (Laughs.) That allowed me to just enjoy the process because it can be taken away from you in a minute.
Is there a Friday Night Lights cast group text?
No, we’ve moved forward. I'm still in touch with (Kyle) Chandler, Connie (Britton), Derek (Phillips) and (Jesse) Plemons. I wish everyone all the best, and it all ended on great terms.
You touched on it already, but how did Shadowplay go?
Well, I think. I’ve seen a baby teaser of it, and it’s beautiful. I love that period piece. Nina Hoss is one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with. The cast is great including Mike C. Hall. It was a long shoot; we were all just exhausted, but I can’t wait to see how it turned out.
What else can you say about Neill Blomkamp’s Inferno?
It’s about a guy who loses everything and will do anything to get it back. There’s some beautiful undertones with addiction and immigration. It’s something that I can’t wait to dive into. It’ll be very challenging; it’s emotionally raw.

Spider-Man
Marvel's Spider-Man from Insomniac Games is one of the most anticipated games of 2018, but did the developers manage to create the best project in the history of video games about this defender of new York and, most importantly, meet the expectations of players? Let's take it all in order. It is worth noting that the author of the review played on an ordinary PlayStation 4 (Slim), so the screenshots are made on it, and the impressions are based on this version. The article was written after receiving the platinum prize, which means that the opinion will be weighted as much as possible.
Marvel's Spider-Man, an action-adventure game developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4, was first unveiled on June 13, 2016 at E3 electronic entertainment. And now, after a little more than two years, we can enjoy it on our own.
You don't need wings to fly
The game greets newcomers with a smooth transition from the opening cut scene to the gameplay, resulting in you being in the air while flying on a web. After learning which button is responsible for throwing the web in the direction of buildings (R2), there is an instant habituation to this method of movement. It seems that you have not just launched the game, but are a veteran of it. Swinging on the web works exactly as it should in terms of convenience and realism. At this time, the character moves in an arc and maintains inertia, so you can slow down the flight or, conversely, increase its speed by using a jump at different times. If you constantly hold R2, Spider-Man will automatically release a new web and move forward. Similarly, it is easy and fast to change the direction of movement: when you press the jump button during a free fall, the main character will perform a jerk on the web, which will allow you to accelerate in the right direction. As previously stated, the web clings strictly to real objects, not to air, unlike many previous Spider games. Therefore, in places with low buildings, you will have to go down, and in Central Park you will have to cling to trees, being on the verge of hitting your heels on the ground. By the way, in order not to wait for the protagonist to fall to the height where it will again be possible to use the web, you can accelerate in the fall by clicking on the left stick.
The movement system is designed so that the dynamics of movement around the city is maintained at the same pace. Thus, if the character runs into a skyscraper, then when holding R2, it will continue to move along it in the selected direction without stopping. While running on a horizontal surface, the same button will allow you to overcome obstacles using parkour without additional manipulations. Jerks on the web, among other things, while running vertically will help to reach the roof as quickly as possible, and immediately after push off from it, continuing the path. Some of these techniques can be opened as you level up spider-Man, acquiring the appropriate skills.
The project is completely translated into the great and mighty, and in General, the Russian voice acting is not so bad, but in some places its quality is greatly reduced. But the fact that it will not be changed separately from the subtitles will probably shock some players. The only option left is to change the console language, but the whole game will be in English.
No longer a novice
Insomniac Games Studio decided to focus on an experienced superhero, who has more than one year of practice, but the plot of the game is independent. Of course, you will meet familiar characters here, but the story will develop in a new way. However, on August 21 of this year, the official prequel of this game was released in the form of a novel authored by American writer David Liss, which was subtitled Spider-Man: Hostile Takeover. Unfortunately, at the moment the book is only available in the original, in English. It tells the story of Wilson Fisk's return to new York, where he appears as a philanthropist to the public. Peter Parker knows very well the true face of Kingpin, so he will have to bring it to light. But not everything is so simple, because at the same time in the city there is a double of Spider-Man under the pseudonym Blood Spider, with a similar costume and abilities, which substitutes the hero, committing crimes. The game's plot begins at the very moment when the book ends.
Avoiding disclosure of details of the plot, so as not to spoil the impression of the readers of the article, I will only Express my opinion about it after full passage. The scenario is generally good, but, unfortunately, quite predictable and not surprising. But the animation of the characters and the environment is very lively, and the setting of plot tasks is performed at the highest level. Because of this, it is quite interesting to take a direct part in the development of history. However, the boss battles were somewhat disappointing. They look spectacular, but feel too scripted and ordinary, unlike the rest of the game. It is clear that the project puts a lot of emphasis on cinematography, but it would be possible to implement them more rich in gameplay terms. Sometimes you have to fight several strong mutants at the same time, which looks pretty cool, but again, the gameplay seems to be in the background. It is not surprising that the health scale is displayed only for the protagonist, even during a boss battle.
Peter Parker and his alter ego Spider-Man is not the only playable character in Marvel's Spider-Man. In the story, you will also have to take control of a couple of other actors, which radically changes the gameplay and makes the game more diverse. As a rule, in scenes with them, you need to act covertly. It should be emphasized that the control between the characters is also transferred during the same episode to, say, help your friend. This is not new in video games, but nevertheless, this solution is quite interesting. During the game, not so often, but there are QTE, and the transition from cut scenes to the gameplay is performed imperceptibly.
During tasks and in the lab at Peter Parker's place of work, there are two types of puzzles. In the first, it is necessary to make an electric chain of components, where the voltage often has to be taken into account. The latter are aimed at recognizing an unknown substance by the absorption spectrum. In them, you need to take fragments of an unknown substance and try to combine its absorption lines with the template.
The storm of the underworld
Battles in Marvel's Spider-Man are one of the most important components of the gameplay. When creating the combat system, the developers were probably inspired by the Batman: Arkham series, since they have obvious similarities. However, unlike Batman, Spider-Man uses more acrobatic techniques, relying on his enviable dexterity. However, he often uses a web and lifts opponents into the air, continuing the battle there. What is important, fights look like a continuous dance, in which one movement smoothly flows into another.
You can instantly eliminate enemies when they don't see you, or when you accumulate a concentration scale, use the suit function, or use the Spider's cunning devices, which will be described in more detail later. Several types of knockouts are used for undetected elimination. To perform a silent knockout, you need to sneak up on the enemy from behind. For a web strike, you must be above the target. In addition, you can discreetly eliminate an opponent by wrapping it in a cocoon and hanging it, for example, on the edge of a roof or on a street lighting pole.

Men in Black: International (2019) Review
I thought The Revengers were disbanded......what did I miss?
Plot: The Men in Black have always protected the Earth from the scum of the universe. In this new adventure, they tackle their biggest threat to date: a mole in the Men in Black organization.
So, whilst Will Smith is busy giving three wishes from inside a lamp and Tommy Lee Jones is absent due to being stuck in space with Brad Pitt now on a journey to go find him (more on that in a few months time), someone still needs to keep control and defend our little planet from extraterrestrial life. Following their solid on-screen banterous chemistry in Thor: Ragnarok Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson take the job and become...the Men in Black. Right off the bat, the film is not that good. In a nutshell it is very forgettable, predictable and more importantly pointless. It seems like the studio wanted to reinvent the franchise by casting new leads, hiring a different director on board and changing up the setting. The result is disappointing as it simply is yet another Men in Black movie which has little to nothing to offer to the table. It doesn’t even feel like there is another director in charge.
The story is dull and as I mentioned earlier: predictable. For a movie with twists it is not very twisty at all. Also, there is definitely an orientation towards comedy here, which is all good if it was actually funny. It seems as so the script decided to rely fully upon its stars and their natural charm to deliver lines that by themselves are not funny at all. And speaking of delivery, lets talk about the performances. Chris Hemsworth can be a very funny man, and he can give solid performances too (see Thor: Ragnarok and Bad Times at the El Royale) however here they turn his ‘gullible innocent child mind’ shtick that comedically worked so well for him previously and basically turn him into an arrogant and annoyingly stupid character for most of the movie so I couldn’t get behind him. He was as a whole frustrating to watch throughout, and this comes from someone who is generally a fan of his work. Tessa Thompson is fine. Look, she is a great up and coming actress, she will do great things, but here it was mainly only for the paycheck. She delivered all her scenes well enough yet as a whole quite forgettable. Liam Neeson pops up but doesn’t have much to work with. Emma Thompson was great (when isn’t she though??) but is only in a couple of scenes and I wished she was included throughout. The likes of Rafe Spall, Rebecca Ferguson and Kayvan Novak all show up but to be honest could have spent their time on something better. Kumail Nanjiani to be fair has probably the most fun with his role of voicing this little alien side-kick and he gave some great one-liners, and heck, whenever a character can very casually trash on The Notebook midway through the scene they always have me on their side.
Men in Black: International has its moments but overall is a bloated forgettable mess that questions why it was made in the first place. I don’t mind breathing new air into a franchise, making it different in some way. For example, a couple of years ago there was talk that the 21 Jump Street and Men in Black franchises would be merged together for a crossover movie, and though originally I thought that idea was utterly ridiculous, now at least I can admit that that turn-out would have at least been more interesting.
Overall score: 4/10

Men In Black: International (2019)
An alien race is once again trying to infiltrate the Earth and only the newest recruit can travel the world to help unravel the mystery.
The cast was mostly decent and it was good to see at least one familiar face from elsewhere in the franchise. The effects were of the usual high quality and the gag with the electric fence hologram was a clever one. The designs of some of the aliens were stimulating and a little varied, although it felt like there were far more human-themed ones in this one.
Fortunately the little worm-stick people didn’t get as much screen time in this one as they were never terribly amusing but they were replaced by another comic relief sidekick. The new one had some amusing points which was an improvement but was still typical and was trying too hard to be an archetype. The talking dog from the other films cameoed briefly but only for about 40 seconds and got an overenthusiastic amount of advertising considering that.
It’s good that there was finally an address of the sex bias in the original conception and shows that the fictional company is modernising at roughly the same pace as the rest of the Western world. The twist was somewhat obvious considering the limited number of suspects but there was at least an attempt to divert the audience’s suspicion.
The main enemy already has a pretty clear doomsday potential with the ability to rewrite DNA and subsume its hosts so why it needs another weapon that will prevent its expansion is unclear. Similarly it’s unclear why it doesn’t just spread through all humanity or at least just the agency while it has the chance but instead holds back.
4/10 -It’s below average, but only just!-
-The flying saucer observation towers in the first Men In Black (1997) film were built for the 1964/5 World Fair in New York City. Similarly the Eiffel Tower was built for the 1889 World Fair.
-Agent H picks up a hammer during a fight, a reference to the actor playing Thor in the Avengers franchise.
-Early ideas for the script included one which was a crossover with 21 Jump Street (2012) but plans fell through so it was reworked.

Deadpool 2 (2018)
A Foreseeable Disappointment
Much like the film from my last review, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, this film suffered from high expectations unlike its predecessor. No one expected much of the first Deadpool, with it suffering major production obstacles as a result. Ultimately, it took advantage of these expectations to such a degree it even earned a sequel much like 21 Jump Street did. Unlike 22 Jump Street, however, Deadpool 2 is not a satisfactory follow up. In fact, let me use 22 Jump Street as my case study to show where this film went wrong. (Read on for full article *spoilrs ahead*)
First of all 22 Jump Street effectively referenced its own existence as a film in a funny way and never to excess. Such examples of this include them using the police budget as a metaphor for the film’s production budget. Deadpool 2 just openly yells, “THIS IS A SEQUEL” at you. While the meta nature of the character allows them to be less subtle, it is too often joked about to remain funny. We get it this is a sequel! Oh, what’s that? Sequels are a common thing in Hollywood nowadays? Man, that’s good satire.
Another thing the Jump Street franchise does well is blending action and comedy. This was perhaps the greatest strength of the first Deadpool too, but in this one it is painfully lacking. Generic action replaces such genius scenes as the bullet counting bridge sequence. Instead of having a playful and cartoonish feel throughout them, the only comedy is throwaway one-liners. Basically, the type of things you can stuff into a trailer to be more marketable. Although, if luring audiences into cinema seats is the only goal then its mission accomplished. Well done David Leitch, you dropped another Atomic Blonde on us. I guess you don’t need Chad Stahelski after all. See you for John Wick 3!
My third and final point (because if the filmmakers can’t be asked to put in any real effort, then I sure as hell can’t) is that this film is not emotionally engaging whatsoever and tries so hard to be. The scenes and plot drag even more because they are carrying the weight of ineffective injections of emotion. None of us cared that much about the romance in the first one, and that was fine because that’s not what we were there for and it didn’t get in the way. Take the relationship at the heart of 22 Jump Street, two friends who grow apart and come back together in the end. Nice and simple. In this film the main character’s girlfriend dies, he tries to reach a troubled child, forms a friendship with the villain, has to prove himself to the X-Men, and he learns the true meaning of family. Not one of these plotlines did I care about and they are so present.
This isn’t to say the film is absolutely terrible. I could go into how the action is actually quite well choreographed, the character of Domino is great, and the off script rants are pretty witty, but I don’t feel like it. None of them are redeeming enough to earn this film, which you’ve probably already seen, a rewatch. Not when superhero films like Infinity Wars and The Incredibles 2 are around.

I wrote a 21 Jump Street script when I was like 11. The premise was crime is so bad, they need people undercover in MIDDLE SCHOOL. They recruited high schoolers for this. And yes it was a blatant self-insert storyline and I regret nothing. First online content was Les Mis when I was 13 and I wrote POETRY and rated it M because it was SAD and people DIED and CHILDREN shouldn’t read it. (And I was baffled people got annoyed at my rating because… what about the children?! Meanwhile I was a literal child.)
what was your original fandom. like not the one you first started with on tumblr. the first bit of media that you made content for
#fandom#fanfic#I regret nothing about either of my baby fandoms#and when I see fanfic with a tragic oc who’s best friends with the main character I just smile because a kid had fun writing it#I don’t make fun of it#kids should absolutely write gratuitously self indulgent fan fic#heck fanfic is self indulgent regardless#you can be 67 and write about a sad girl with violet eyes that no one understands#and I’ll be like cool that’s valid#you had fun!#fanfic should be fun

Okay so I said before I would talk about some of the deleted scenes and other such things from UN//Forgotten, in case anyone is curious! There will be spoilers under the read more, so be warned if you haven’t finished the story yet!
Before we get into that, also have some art that I never used for some reason that was supposed to go with this fanfic:
Alright, the rest of the cut content under the read more! Also sorry I don’t know how to make the Read More work on mobile? It just refuses so everything after this is a spoiler!
So the first thing that was changed from the first draft was the roles of Kara and Oso within the story. Before I started writing I wanted to have all the characters follow the roles they had in the Hesokuri Wars Steampunk set. That would mean that Kara was a bounty hunter. I tried to fit that into the plot in various ways, such as Kara being a slave to Chibita, but still working as a bounty hunter, and then having Oso killing Chibita. But that didn’t really work with the plot. Like if Kara didn’t know Oso before he killed Chibita, why would he go with him and join his group? He wouldn’t. And then Oso would have no reason to rescue him, and ect. It didn’t work so I made Kara a normal slave/outlaw like Oso instead. Then the plot made 100% more sense, especially after I decided how Chibita would die in the story, but more on that later.
I wrote the first four or five chapters before uploading any of them. I had written the Choro family as not knowing each other as children originally in those first few chapters, they had all escaped from separate farms and such. I then realized that made a huge plot hole. How did they all escape? How did they find Choro? Why did Ichi trust them, but not Kara? It just didn’t make sense so after uploading the first two chapters I went back and edited the other chapters to them knowing each other from the beginning. This made the story stronger and just made more sense.
Around chapter seven I realized the plot was taking too long. I then edited the rest of chapter seven, which became chapter seven and eight actually, severely. I put too much in and there wasn’t enough room. The biggest things I took out was a scene where after Dekapan examines Kara, Kara helps him out with a delivery to Nyaa-Chan. On this delivery he would see Oso walking around, his eyes glowing red. This would establish he was more actively looking for Kara, although he mostly hung around the main street and the bank, aka where Chibita died. It was unnecessary and dragged the chapter on too long so it was cut. I instead put a tiny scene with Oso in the next chapter, but I don’t think it had the same impact. Oh well.
Next scene I cut out in chapter eight was Todo talking about his past experiences as a slave. It made that chapter drag and Todo’s past had very little importance on the plot as a whole, so Homura ended up talking about it briefly instead. Side note, when Homura says, “I never had a choice in anything! I just, I just want to make my own decision for once.” That was extremely obtuse foreshadowing of her suicide attempt. She made her own decision for once, it just wasn’t a very good one. sobs
Chapter 9, or chapter ——- (seven dashes), those dashes standing for both suicide and Chibita, didn’t exist in my original outline, throwing off my outline even further, cause you know I’m like that. There was just a small scene in the notes that said “RW: Karamatsu can’t decide if he wants to continue story,” which I somehow turned into a whole chapter. Go me!
Chapter Thirteen (actually 14) had a much darker tone in the first draft. It had Karamatsu contemplating suicide, holding his box cutter against his wrist before the voice of Kara stops him from doing anything stupid. Then he would run away. I changed it because he wouldn’t have enough time between Choromatsu leaving and returning to do all that, and because it would lessen the impact of his actual suicide attempt and Kara trying to stop him at the end of the story. It flows better with him just running away and leaving his poem behind! I think!
There was a dream sequence that got cut out of chapter fourteen (15 number wise) in which it was clearer that it was about Chibita. I made it far more vague in the actual story.
Also something I never saw anyone mention, but I’m sure people noticed, Oso says, “We were more like test subjects, because the five of us have magic that’s considered to be too ‘powerful’ or too ‘dangerous’.” He messed up and said five instead of four, since he was counting Chibita. I tried to make this clearer by mentioning four in relation to the futon.
Also this is something I never mentioned either, but Kara’s headaches got worse after he used his magic, and the “Find Oso,” was memories leaking through. It was his own brain trying to save him and get him to remember. On that note, the reason Oso didn’t know about Kara’s entire plan to make his memories obscured was because he can only use one part of his magic at a time. He can either track someone or read their mind, and since Kara was so far away he used all his power to track him instead.
Oh and another thing. Kara never mentioned Oso’s name to anyone until he ran away from Choro. This is mainly because while Choro and the others wouldn’t know if him, Professor Dekapan knew of his existence and that he was an outlaw rather than a bounty hunter.
Oh and when Oso says people think real loud at him about jobs, that was actually a lie. He just didn’t feel like explaining it to Kara, but he has informants who at a certain time in the morning relay their thoughts to Oso about any jobs. So it’s kinda like thinking really loud but not really lol.
So as for the memories, they were one chapter at one point, but I changed it to two. I also changed around the order of the memories from my notes to what is in the story since it made the reveal of Chibita happen later. That meant I had to edit out a mention of Chibita in the memory of just Kara and Oso after Kara obscured the house. It was only one line so it wasn’t that big of a deal.
The memory of Kara and Chibita at the top of the second chapter of memories wasn’t in the notes at all. I added it in to give context to Kara attempting to throw his magic across the room. Neither was the memory where Kara and Chibita are talking through the wall. That scene wasn’t even added until like moments before I uploaded that chapter omg. I thought the story needed more Kara and Chibita bonding moments!
Another big change was Chibita’s death. In the original script it was from a botched rescue job. Basically they were helping to rescue some slaves with the wagon, but got chased by real bounty hunters, Chibita fell off the wagon and Kara couldn’t save him and he got captured. That didn’t have the emotional impact of an on screen death, and didn’t echo the real life Chibita’s death, so I changed it to a bank robbery. Originally it was a more normal bank robbery, like Kara ghosted them in and they robbed the bank with guns but Chibita was killed, but I couldn’t figure out a way that would work well? And also Kara can walk through walls, why wouldn’t he walk right into the vault? So it became what it is in the story because of that.
Also the title, Chapter ___ ___? Stands for “Bad End?”
So now for changes to the ending! At first Karamatsu was going to jump from a bridge, not the cliff. The cliff made more sense because it echoes what Kara did in the story.
Osomatsu also talked more with Karamatsu in the first draft, but I cut a lot of it out. Things he mentioned include the way he found Karamatsu being the cellphone he called him from. He got it from Dekapan and it tracked him. It only worked since he picked up the phone, so if he hadn’t answered Osomatsu never would’ve found him. That wasn’t really plot relevant and I couldn’t fit it in with such a tense moment so it got cut. Another change was it cutting off at Osomatsu screaming “Wait,” and the rest just being told in the video. I wrote more of the ending with Osomatsu saying a few more things, but it was dragging and not important, so bye bye to all that.
Chapter True End (21) started differently, with Kara still cutting his throat but missing any main arteries which would’ve killed him. So he just passed out from blood loss instead of over-using his magic. I liked Oso saving him more to reflect what happened in reality, so that was changed.
The scene at the end with Ichimatsu was longer, with Karamatsu also fretting about his scars and Ichimatsu telling him that they were like battle scars, showing how hard he had struggled and still lived, but I couldn’t get it to fit in right so I cut that out as well.
One last note, if I ever did a bad end, a real bad end that is, I would probably make a video and I would use the song “Transparent Elegy”. It’s the sister song to “Farewell Wonder Noise”, kinda. It’s sort of like how in my other fanfic The Heaviness of a Heart, I had the song “Q” as the good end and “RE:Overdose” as the bad end because those are like sister songs as well. Speaking of which, “Heart Nonsense” and “Falling Apart Heart” are also sister songs. I like to use songs by the same artist with similar themes I GUESS.
Actually, since I haven’t rambled enough, a lot of this story was inspired by THOAH. Both Karamatsu’s and Choromatsu’s online names, MyLightShinesForYou and NyaaFan96, come from that fanfic. There are other inspirations from THOAH, but let’s not get into all that since I could write another 1000 words just on the similarities, hhhh.
So anyway, I think that’s it! If you have any other questions feel free to ask me I’ll answer them!
