What's wrong with naming months in fantasy world the same they're called in our world when the whole world is made up? I get it when there are two worlds (our regular and made up one) next to each other, it might add some otherworldly personality to the fantastic setting but if there's just one fictional reality why can't it have October? If you call it Pumpker does that make your world more fantastic and you a better worldbuilder? Then why would you call a teapot a teapot? Why not an infusionpan? If your world has months then you can call them with names everyone's familiar with, or just come up with a new language all together. Like, I don't see why this is so controversial to not change the names of the months.

so i'm reading beautiful losers translated right, a translation from this year, and i just got to a love confession where "queer love" is half translated to "amor queer", which is really funny considering that though it was technically """less"""" translated than the rest it still strikes as deeply anachronistic for 1966. specially considering other slurs were just regularly translated to something more natural sounding. they would not say that, etc
