So John Constantine is more than a bit of a hoe. He’s a disaster bisexual who’s taste in men is “Big and strong enough to fold him like a folding chair” and his taste in women is “competent and could probably kick his ass”

So, I propose that Constantine had a fling with both of them and the resulting threesome resulted in Danny. And I don’t just mean that only one of them is his father, I’m talking more Greek Mythology where the mother slept with both a god and a mortal and both were the resulting child’s father. Danny is the son of both Jack and Maddie Fenton, AND John Constantine.

So, cut to years later. and Danny is starting to awaken some magical abilities. And thus, John finds out he has a son with the wacky ghost hunter couple he hooked up with years ago. Now Danny is dealing with the fact he has another dad that’s just a disaster of a person, as well as his uncontrolled magical abilities awakening. John is just trying to figure out how to be a functional adult while Danny stays with him for the summer, and if the kid could not mess with his many dangerous magical trinkets that would be great

Aka, Danny spends the summer with his estranged magic dad to learn how to handle his sudden magic powers and causes chaos.

Danny also seems to have inherited John’s resistance to omniscience, much to the displeasure of the Observants. He was bad enough when they could tell what he was going to do...

You know one thing that occurred to me watching Sandman so far is that someone out there is going to watch this show and be like “ugh why did they have to put so much gay shit in it, this is just typical of 21st century woke politics cluttering up everything” and not realizing this is just how the comic was in the 19fucking80s.

He wouldn't judge you if you came out to him as trans either (I headcanon him to be trans because like before I hit all my favorite characters with the trans+bi beam)

I headcanon him to also be a huge fucking nerd, if your non-human then he's gonna want to know everything about you

You have diffrent magic then he does? Sit down your going to be explaining how it works and what it does to constantine for the next several hours

If your taller + able to carry him around? Do it, this man is a drinker so you'll most likely have to drag his ass away from the bar and into bed. If he tries to protest? Solution? Cuddle him- man melts. He'll grumble in small protest but after awhile he accepts his fate

Hope you can handle the smell of booze and cigarettes, you can practically hear his lungs and liver screaming

Constantine is touched starved, I dont make the rules. He acts like he hates affection around others but get this man alone and hes all over you. He doesn't even need to ask- your already at work pampering his face in kisses as you hold him close to you.

However with Constantine's job he will push you away, he's used to losing the people around him but if your a stubborn ass and hold up on your own then constantine slowly but surely opens up more and more.

When he's had a few to many drinks constantine is one of two ways- flirty or angry (that's canon)

Angry is just him trying to smash shit, again- make sure to keep all your belongings on the top shelf so he can't get to them and he'll eventually calm down

Flirty is him drunkenly saying shitty pickup lines towards you or if you try and carry him to bed he'd just go

"My boyfriend will get upset if he see this"

"Constantine- I am your boyfriend"

Don't let this man cook- at all. He nearly burnt down your kitchen one time

Overall, give Constantine the patience and effort and the relationship will go as smoothly as it can when its constantine

DP x DC: More stuff to know about Constantine

Just some facts about John Constantine that I don’t see come up in this crossover that I think people could have a lot of fun with. He’s more than just useful for consulting, though he does see himself as a detective, just one specialized in supernatural cases.

-Canonically bisexual: that’s right, canonically bisexual, and a lot of his exes have tried to kill him

-Has demon blood in his veins: this is a fun one because demon blood has ceraint properties in the Hellblazer universe. Chiefly, accelerated healing. John is shown to recover from non-fatal wounds relatively quickly. It’s even been used as a defense mechanism against the King of Vampires. It is also shown to slow down the aging process. John is actually a lot older than he looks

-Ages in real time: Okay, don’t know how this could be used in a fic but it’s fun. He has aged in real time since his first appearance and last mention of his age put him at 60. Currently he’d be turning 70 this year, so that demon blood really keeps him spry

-synchronicity wave traveling: this is his instinctual ability to manipulate coincidences. Aka, he manipulates luck. This means he can’t lose at gambling unless he wants to, and as long as he’s using this ability, he’s pretty much invincible for the duration, because he manages to avoid getting hit by bullets, and spells, as well as jinxing the people trying to hurt him. He’s not only a lucky bastard, but a magically lucky bastard. This ability even worked on the first of the fallen, aka Satan. It is OP while he’s using it.

-The Laughing Magician: He has the title of the laughing magician. There have been multiple over the ages but John is the current one. They are known for their tendency for rebuking and outsmarting Gods, Demons, Spirits and just about everything else. Some even managed to destroy or use Gods for their own purposes. Soley members of Constatine’s bloodline can achieve this title and it’s what gives him the ability to use the synchronicity wave. It also gives him resistance to literal omniscience, aka beings that know everything don’t know what he’s going to do. An argument could be made that this would work to some extent on clockwork. He is literally one of the most powerful mages in the world.

-Possession resistance: He’s resistant to many psychic attacks such as telepathy, soul and body possession, and powerful mind controls. This one has some pretty obvious uses in this crossover.

So, yeah.  Constantine has more going on than just consulting about things. He’s extremely powerful, extremely lucky, though that luck doesn’t extend to other around him, a bit of a weirdness magnet that can surprise beings that know everything. He has access to a bunch of magical artifacts, and is exactly the kind of guy who can and would come out winning against the Ghost King. Not even against Danny, he could do it against Paria Dark.

So yeah, have fun with this information

A rant against some not-so-great Witcher fans...

The behavior I've seen from some Witcher (book) fans lately does NOT make me proud to usually be a book purist. And no, I'm not talking about the ones who are upset that Jaskier is being shipped with an aged-up Radovid. ( I understand the concern there but you know it's just for plot angst.)

I'm seeing blatant homophobia and sometimes out-right biphobia, including videos of "book fans" who won't even use the term bisexual. They claim Jaskier was "made gay for woke points" by Netflix. Some of the nicer comments I've seen include: "But he's slept with lots of women!" And "But I wanted to see him with Prescilla" (even though she was a creation of the video games and Netflix has no rights to her...) "This means he can't be with Precscilla." ...I can't help but feel these people don't know what bisexual means... They didn't seem to think he couldn't be with Priscilla when they mentioned other woman lovers. I'm still in awe that there are people who claim there's nothing bi about Jaskier (AKA Buttercup AKA Dandelion) in the Netflix show. And again this is not about who he hooks up with. I've seen comments on Facebook of "This is why Henry Cavill left. He's tired of the f-- sh-t." and similar statements. Last year I came across some Witcher book fans who insisted Ciri can never be a "True" Witcher (even in the games where that is an ending) because "only a man can be a true Witcher!" and "The method for making REAL Witchers was lost. It's important to the canon that no woman ever be a Witcher!" And now it's "They're ruining Dandelion!" and "There's no hint that Jaskier was ever gay!" Excuse me... Please read these lyrics to the song he wrote when Geralt left him on the side on the mountain. And as if those lyrics aren't obvious enough Yennefer actually confronts him on the song being about Geralt.

For people who just "love the original books" I'm seeing blatant sexism and homophobia / biphobia in your midst and it's starting to make me ashamed and distrusting of other book fans. You can't convince me statements of "They've ruined Jaskier by making him queer!" are purely because of who his love interest is going to be next season.

And so many "No wonder Henry Cavill left!" Actually, there has been NO official statement about why Henry Cavill is leaving the show, just a lot of fan speculation (Though yes, some of it is reasonable as he was a fan of the books). He is extremely busy though with the Warhammer franchise, and there's a rumor he might have a Sherlock spin-off and some other things in the works. Just know that when people try to insist how "Straight" Jaskier was portrayed these last two seasons (and spin-off prequel series) and go on long tangents about why Ciri can never be a Witcher... Try to consider they might not be "trying to protect the integrity" of the series after all. I've seen behavior like this before and it's never really about protecting the stories. Here's a hint. I'll use my own dislike of the Interview With the Vampire TV series for comparison. If the person complains that "(this character) would never harm (this other character here)" you may want to listen. The story might matter to them. (This goes for Yennefer and Ciri and Lestat and Louis of Interview with The vampire). However if the complaint has to do with race (i.e. whining about Louis being played by a black man in Interview with the vampire), or sexuality... chances are it's not really about the story at all.

I've seen rants about how straight Jaskier "used to be" and I can't help but wonder if those people were able to keep a straight face (ha!) while writing it. It would be funny if they weren't serious. Honestly these ARE the same sort of people who used to insist Xena and Gabrielle were straight, or that Louis in interview With the Vampire was straight, or that John Constantine in the Hellblazer comics was straight (and those still existed until relatively recently.)

YEAH my point is literally just some constantine fans on here do need to realise canon in one universe is not canon in all💔 he's very mischaractised by a lot of the fandom and ppl forget like. yeah he's an asshole but he cares deep down he just doesn't know what to Do. i personally don't really like how john is written in anything other than vertigo universe (show is an exception tho i felt as if the writing DID lack a bit and couldve been better so im hoping for a reboot!) bc they've just softened him up lately and it sucks. I don't like how dc deal with his queerness too and I feel like that's the reason there r a lot of fans who don't realise he's bisexual and idk why but it bugs me. his queerness is very important in the comics and I wish dc dealt w it in a better way lol anyways I want them to get new writers for him OR make a new comic series for him. I want to see the more "darker" constantine again and I want his bisexuality much more visible like it was in vertigo. being an autistic and queer dc fan sucks

Hi, wrt your post from the 35th bday issue where John gets called the f slur, could you clarify what you mean by saying "it could be either or"?

Surely he is called the f slur because he is percieved as queer, and that he is percieved that way because he isn't interested in sleeping with the woman.

YEAH, that’s what i mean by that, from the woman’s perspective.

what i intended to mean is more fans use him being called the f slur in that scenario as essentially the big kick-off of his canon bisexuality, when it’s more cemented later on and that’s when it’s more canon by john smith, though i don’t think constantine being perceived as straight was ever intended.

also, the term is a lot more common back then in a linguistics stand point, and people kind of just threw it around when they were offended regardless- like when a few years back ( and technically, still now, i suppose, though it’s not as common ) when guys on games would call people the f slur when they were frustrated with them. or, hell, it’s something i was called ( and various other slurs towards lesbians ) because i didn’t like playing with “girl” toys when i was younger and because my brother didn’t like that i played “boy” games like mortal kombat or found an interest in comic books, but it didn’t necessarily mean i was queer ( though a few years later, i know i am ). it was just something used because i defied from the norm and what was expected of me. so when i saw this and thought back to my own experiences, i thought “well, there’s a chance he’s not being slurred because she thinks he’s genuinely queer, but instead because he did something that wasn’t the norm and that she wouldn’t like.” if this makes any sense.

which is why i also go on to add the “gay earring” part of the post- if she had seen that, which is entirely possible but we don’t know for sure, then it could suggest that he’s being genuinely slurred because of his queer identity. however, he isn’t confirmed bisexual until later on in the series ( exact issue i am not entirely sure, but it’s definitely not this early on ). regardless, i say people can perceive it as either or because of the fact she might not be targeting his queerness and instead just in general being like “fuck this guy”. it’s a sort of giving both sides of the argument, and just how loose the term was at that time period. like people were just using the slur left and right until nowadays, and even now, some people still do. but now especially it’s targeted toward our community.

basically continuity stuff. we don’t know if they included it to hint at john’s bisexuality, or if they just added it because it was something to say at the time. personally, i think it could be the former if i were to take an actual stance on the argument because i don’t think john was ever intended to be a straight guy, but again, it could be perceived as either or. there are plenty of instances of john being targeted by homophobia, though- like in the horrorist.
