Another thing kind of in a similar vein to that last post: I really can't stress enough that if you are the cool family member that hangs out with the kids, don't ever stop doing that, even as they get older. I feel like for a lot of people it's really easy to bond with little kids cause well they're little kids! they think just about anything you could do is cool! and it's maybe a little easier to keep them entertained with simple games. But then as they start getting older like 8, 10, 12, etc, people tend to draw back more and not interact as much, which is absolutely the worst thing to do honestly. Kids at that age Are getting more self aware and maybe a little more self conscious and they Are trying to figure out their place in the world so maybe they don't play all the exact same games they used to, but I bet they still loving playing games!! And given the chance, I bet they would love the fact that they get to play with YOU, their old friend, even more. You might have to work a little bit harder to get them to warm up to you again at first, especially if they don't get to see you very often, but once you get past that they're gonna fall into the same habits around you that they always have and honestly, it's gonna be such a relief for THEM that they are able to act that way with you. You end up being something they can count on, a constant even as they change and grow and an opportunity to let loose a bit as they settle into themselves as people. And if you keep that up alllllll throughout their childhood and alllllll throughout their time as teens, you're gonna end up with a really great relationship that will probably last for the rest of your lives. So yeah, keep being there for all the kids in your life, especially the ones in the awkward phases!!! It may be years down the line, but they'll thank you for it one day, and I promise you'll both cherish that time forever and forever

okay, just because i've seen a few things on x and tiktok about this now and want to kind of put this out now before the show comes out. and maybe this isn't what will happen in the show, but there's already been too much speculation about things between alys and daemon at harrenhal with those two clips in the trailer.

i will not be writing alys taking on rhaenyra's looks or charming daemon into thinking she's rhaenyra to sleep with or control him. i do not like how r*pey that is, especially with how grrm likes to write the treatment of women and lowborn women. alys has probably been a victim of r*pe herself, so i will not be writing her doing anything of the sort to daemon / aemond / criston, whoever people want to believe she's charmed. will she emotionally manipulate them? yes, that's likely, but it'll never go into a sexual realm when it comes to me writing her.

!This a post about personal shit!

I was originally not going to tell anyone because I've been using this blog to escape, but I've reached my limit on talking about death.

Recently a family member of mine has died (like I found out this Thursday, hence why I've been responding to asks late sometimes because I was out and doing stuff with family) and I thought it would be fine doing my normal usual thing of answering y'all's asks, but I can't talk about death anymore (unless it's the OC Death).

It's not anything anyone has really done wrong, don't worry. Just between this and the shit happening in the COD community, I cannot think about it anymore.

So for right now, I will no longer be talking about OCs dying or talk about the Stone variants who deal with death/grief (ie Serial Killer!Stone and Felon!Stone).

I just need to be talking about happier things. Hope y'all understand.

Anyways, that's all I have for you and yeah.

I'm contemplating whether or not I want to push off actually starting to do IC stuff for Wriothesley on here mainly because the rpc is so oversaturated with people making solo blogs for him or adding them to their own multis I just don't know if now's a good time for another one being added to the mix when I'm still trying to get my writing groove back. I never expected something as simple as being uprooted in my work environment and losing that guaranteed free time in the middle of the day to have such an effect on my Tumblr writing but I'm really hoping this is the end of that starting next week.

For all intents and purposes Wriothesley is on the primary muse list and is available to have things sent in for memes, but I'm extremely hesitant on trying to push his muse out that far for IC engagement for awhile.

It usually takes 10-ish seconds to take a look at the notes, filter to “comments only”, and find a description to reblog with the post.

Sure, writing an image description for a post that isn’t your own can be really daunting sometimes! Maybe you don’t know if you’re misinterpreting a reference in the image! Maybe you don’t have enough spoons to write a description.

While I’m all for learning new skills (like learning how to write IDs, a very handy skill, trust me), chances are someone will have already made a description!

I believe in a generous and expansive definition of emo, from the venerated classics to the kids currently growing up on MCR. It’s all great, I love it all, and it’s all important to how we think about the genre.
